Guest Lapis Lazuli     The reports Peridot asked for were submitted, if a bit later than Peridot probably would have preferred. The report about her encounter with Sunstone was, in her words, 'Not unpleasant, but still suspicious.' She didn't fail to include the part where Sunstone was the one who bubbled the gem and she was the one who was given it and she sent it back. Sandworm monster had to owe a bit of its defeat to the constituents who helped defeat it.

On the other report, Lapis outright fabricated. Up until the point where she was a prisoner, and left in the wreckage. She retreated to wait for Jasper post crash, and then was unified into the multiverse. The report was as detailed as her normal reports, given no rise to the suspicion of its fabricated nature. For now.

Completed with the reporting, Lapis retreated deep into the ship's recreational and living areas, and specifically, what was made her room. She's been there for a while, a stack of books on the room's desk. There is no bed, only some loose furniture such as chairs, a chest, desk, and a sofa. Gems don't need to sleep, after all. Comfort is still a factor, though. Scattered around the floor are a couple robonoids, trundling randomly around the figure sitting on the floor. A couple extra-thick black markers, or their gem equivalent, lie scattered on the floor around Lapis.

In her hand is one of hte aforementioned robonoids. Its tiny peg-legs limp as she draws a silly face on the exterior with the marker. This. This is what happens when you give Lapis access to some of the ship systems. As the whacky face is drawn, Lapis puts the robonoid back on the floor, where it staggers back to balance and resumes trundling.
Peridot     Suddenly and somewhat intrusively, a large screen flashed into existence on Lapis's wall. Revealing the face of Peridot who seemed to carry her eternally sour expression. "Lapis." She started in a loud voice that rang through the room from speakers unseen. "I have processed your report, and I have a few questions about you've seen and done." She started without much in the way of a greeting.

"This.. Sunstone." The image of Peridot's face zoomed out somewhere, and she looked off to the side of the screen. Next to her, surprisingly an image of the orange gem appears.  Though it appeared digital, and somehow younger than the Sunstone she met. "I.. actually know her. She was a seeker, like me. Except she went native. So, she isn't a crystal gem, but she's just as traitorous as they were." Peridot rubs her chin. "Tell me. Did she mention me at all?"
Guest Lapis Lazuli     Lapis caps her marker and watches the robonoids in amusement. Suddenly, there's a screen on her wall and -- she.. really doesn't look all that surprised. Looking up to the screen, she regards Peridot and replies in greeting, "Hello, Peridot." Her attention is immediately drawn away from her artistic spree of destruction. Her head cants to the side a little bit on the line of questioning regarding Sunstone, then she looks over to the projection. A younger Sunstone? Is that just a change in projection or has it actually been that long? Gem age is always difficult to quantify.

At the question, she looks back at Peridot, shifting a bit where's she sitting. "She did. She told me you had bad history, and that her gem was trapped under a gem warship for a long time."
Peridot     "It's true." Peridot answered, waving away the digital imagery with her hand, resuming taking over most of the screen. "I was selected to sort out the mess she made. Though in my report I listed her as being killed in action." She looked down in frustration. Her brows knitting in barely concealed anger. Not at Sunstone, however. Peridot was furious with herself. She had filed a false report. Inaccurate information. it was a grevious sin. "No matter.. I'll update the report to reflect my new findings. And If you must know. She brought it upon herself. I had barely hit atmosphere when she brought my ship down and-"  Peridot stopped and squinted, looking at the robonoid sauntering around the room.

"Wha.. Hey! What are you doing to my robonoids?" She leaned in close to her camera, her eyes taking up the entire real estate of the display. "Why are you vandalizing them? I gave you control over some of them to help you around the ship! Their current design is optimized for their function, they weren't made to have faces!"
Guest Lapis Lazuli     Lapis nods slightly in time with Peridot's explanation. She even tries to assuage Peridot's guilt over her false details by saying, "You had no way of knowing." It's true, what could she have been expected to do? Sift the wreckage for Sunstone's gem? It would have been a needle in a haystack search, such that it took some incredible amount of time for Sunstone to remanifest at all. Her eyes widen a little bit at the mention of Sunstone bringing down Peridot's ship.

"Did Sunstone really take down your ship?" Lapis questions right over Peridot's segue. Of course, then Peridot is taking up the whole screen with her eyes and looking at the little robonoids. The other one has a face that looks like Elvis Presley. Sideburns, muttonchops and everything. Amusingly, it's the one to turn towards the screen and raise two little nubby legs to Peridot. Lapis can't help but giggle.
Peridot     Peridot saw that she was avoiding her question. But, prodding her to get back to the business at hand turned out to be an effective tactic to draw her away from the robonoid issue. Though she did seem somewhat uncomfortable. She actually seemed to be put a little at the notion of her false report not being entirely her fault. At which point she looks back to Lapis. "... That is true. I came to the most likely conclusion, considering an entire ship fell on her. I can scarcely be blamed for an anomaly." Lapis gained +10 Peridot points.

On the topic of the battle itself, her mood shifted. "She did manage to utilize a dangerous weapon... all the reason you shouldn't get too chummy with her." Peridot went on. "She's killed many unborn gems, left undeveloped in the dirt. Several kindgergartens shut down before those growing there could sprout from the ground." Peridot's expression went stern, her eyes narrowing. "She might not be a crystal gem, but she's killed just as many of our kind."

"We should attempt to bubble and contain her, next we meet so she can meet proper justice for her crimes against Homeworld."
Guest Lapis Lazuli     Despite Lapis' former position as Peridot's informant, and then later as her prisoner, there are still amicable moments between Peridot and her. Lapis' giggles fade back into a smile, and then a more neutral expression as talking about business -- and Sunstone's crimes -- becomes the predominant topic again. As the accusations build up, Lapis frowns, "Is that true?" How can she do that? Maybe things were different, but the unease that she might attack future kindergartens when they're so eminently endangered as a species continues to grow. It shows on her face, concerned mixed in.

At the suggestion to bubble her, she looks up. "..But.. Peridot, I'm not.. I'm not a knight gem." She couldn't really be expected to attack Sunstone and drag her here, could she?
Peridot     Peridot inspects her own floating fingers for a moment. "This planet is 71% water. I'm sure you'll be able to think of something. We are in something of a..." She paused, searching for the word. Between her and Lapis they probably scarcely had the physical strength to move a particularly big book case. But, neither were weak- each commanding a powerful element of their own. The truth of the matter was, neither of them were fighters and both shyed away from a brawl. "Our position could be stronger." She finally says. "But we aren't defenseless. We may not have the resources we need to go after her, but- protecting the Kindergarten is our number one priority."

"It may take some work, but I can have water channeled here. Between the warship, automated defenses an army of my robonoids and sufficient hydro mass; I believe the two of us will be more than enough to hold the forces of this miserable planet at bay." She smirked. "I will likely need your help though, getting the water transferred here until a permanent channel can be created. Is this acceptable to you?"
Guest Lapis Lazuli     Lapis's eyes widen a little bit. "..You want to fortify the warship?" She sucks her lip for a moment in thought, before sitting back a little further. It's certainly the most obvious tactical move. Of course, fortifying this location would remove the advantage that the warship itself can be moved. But if this Sunstone has access to powerful weaponry capable of taking down a warship, it might just be a moot point. The bigger issue is how she'll need to react to Sunstone in the future. It's.. complicated. These things are always complicated.

"I can help with that. We can surround the kindergarten with water." Lapis agrees, "Between the two of us.. Maybe we'll find more gems that can help us. There seem to be more appearing all the time."
Peridot     "That is... odd, but you are correct. More gems are appearing and I find it a hopeful prospect." She looked up for a moment in thought. "Though statistically, 50% of all gems that have re-emerged have wanted to kill me." She looked down at her fingers again. "... More, if you count the corrupted gems- which I do. Mathematically it hasn't worked out too well for us yet." She shakes her head, interlocking her hands behind her back and tilting her head up some.

She clears her throat. "Due to these problematic mathematical conundrums." She looked down at Lapis over her nose. "....I appreciate your efforts and cooperation on this matter. You are perhaps the only being on this planet not trying to kill me, or take advantage of gem kinds current plight. I would be remiss in my duties to not acknowledge such a service to homeworld."
Guest Lapis Lazuli     "This is--" what they would do for Lapis? She pauses a bit. It seems every conversation with Peridot reminds her of Yellow Diamond. And what will she do if Jasper ever reappears from her timeline? Will it be the same Jasper she trapped or a different one? She can't even understand the physics and logic behind unification, just the idea is so abstract and undefined. The look of concern, and maybe even fear appears on Lapis' face for a moment, but looking back at the robonoids seems to make her smile a little bit again. "..Thank you, Peridot."

Looking back up at the screen, Lapis continues, "I'll see about starting to bring some water here." Finally, Lapis also hints at the reason she's been out looking at beaches so much, "If you find Steven, please tell me." She wants to know that he's alright. She was trying to do that one thing for him, and it didn't even help in the end. It will all stop mattering if she can't find him.
Peridot     At this Peridot hesitates. She frowns some, but resist the urge to look away and tip her hand. "About the Steven." She starts in a diplomatic tone. Not answering her question specifically. "It has come to my attention that the people of this planet need certain... things to survive. Previously I did not know, or care what the humans needed to continue their.. meaty existence." She taps the screen,  a string of data rolling by her face.

"I will of course, honor our agreement. But in order to do so, I will need your help on a certain matter. If the Steven is brought on board, it will need certain things in order to continue... being." She waves her hand some. "I have concocted a list of material goods that I believe A Steven needs to survive, based on very solid intel. We will need to collect these goods, and soon." She paused. "To prepare, that is."
Guest Lapis Lazuli     The robonoid with the emoticon-style goofy face trundles randomly onto Lapis' lap, and she picks it up to hold it for a moment. It immediately goes back to being limp. When Peridot begins talking about Steven and his.. requirements, Lapis actually seems to be a bit curious and maybe a bit surprised. Peridot is did intel research beforehand? Unsurprising, really, Peridot is quite good at what she does. Lapis nods, "Maybe that's the role that the Crystal Gems filled for him. But now that they're gone.." She pauses.

"It can't be that complex. We'll just find the items and bring them back." Lapis nods, this makes sense. If these items are really needed to Steven's survival, it's best to have the prepared before they find him. With a bit of hope, Lapis asks, "Do you think we will find him, Peridot?"
Peridot     "I can't say for sure I know what the Steven actually is yet." She mentions ponderously. "Whether he is... some manner of  gem, or a strange iteration of Quartz pretending to be a human... but based on brief observations I do believe the Crystal Gems served him in the fashion that a Nursery drone serves a freshly emerged gem in Kindergarten. If they are dead, then it will fall to us to be his nursery drones."

"To answer your question, I believe the two of you will be reunited shortly." She then turned, looking at something off-camera. It appeared that Peridot was possibly transmitting from the prison ward of the finger. A section that had been sealed off. "Call it a hunch." She looked back to the screen.

"Peridot out." her image flickered, and the screen vanished.
