Yunomi Stadler     THE NAMAMURA DISTRICT, IZZET QUARTER, RAVNICA

There is a surprising amount of 'green space' on the boarder of the Namamura District, perhaps to provide its more sensitive residents with a buffer between their new home and themselves, a sense of acclimation, and even a chance to get away from the madcat hustle and bustle of the city.

It was here that Yunomi Stadler, clad in her Izzet colors and armor, was walking to clear her head. She had a smudge of oil and grease across her cheeks, her eyes gazing off into the distance as she peers out over the green of the 'park'. There were plenty of trees here, grown by her design, of oak and maple, their leaves beginning to turn with the season's changing an the promise of their native winter in Namamura Valley, Japan.

So far away from home, even the trees yearned for their native soils.
Golden     The small golden digimon looks somewhat out of place among the denizens of Ravnica, though some may assume he was simply an off-worlder with a white mana symbol stamped in his metal forehead.
Golden looks about with a sense of wonder at the clash of urbanization and the integration of the trees and other lush greenery. It reminded him of some of the places in the old Digital world, where nature and civilization were pretty much integrated into each other. Ravnica was definitely an interesting place for Golden to wander about in.
He wondered how many digimon exiles were hiding in plain sight among the myriad inhabitants and seemingly infinite cityscapes.
"Hey miss, what is this place?" He asks the armor-clad tanuki. She looked like some kind of authority on the place to him.
Yunomi Stadler     Ravnica? Not so much. Namamura? Maybe.

Yunomi gives a momentary start, her ears pricking up and her tail straightening a moment as she turns to regard the digimon. She gives a small smile, looking all the world like a human with funny ears as she kneels down a moment to regard the digimon.

"Aa. You've reached the park in the Namamura District, my friend." the mage replies in a friendly tone. "A new visitor? Just passing through?"
Golden     "Sort of both?" Golden shrugs. "It's a really nice place, reminds me of some of the places we used to have back home."
"Hey... you're not saying I look weird or wondering what I am." He realizes... "Have you seen others like me around... um." Oh, what did the gatekeeper say right before trying to deal with an angry cyclops...
"Ravnica?" Golden finally finishes his sentence. "I mean, digimon like I am.
Yunomi Stadler     "Aaah, let's just say I'm familiar with most of the people in the Namamura district." Yunomi replies, unwilling to elaborate. "I admittedly don't know many digimon. I've ran afoul of Beezlebubmon once or twice in my career with the Union." she offers, and leans back. "And you look a little more high-tech than anything that comes out of my guild's forges. You do kinda stick out." she offers with a small smile.
Golden     Golden ohs. "Yeah, sorry if I hit a nerve or something. People call me Golden. Basically I'm trying to warn any digimon who're not hiding to go into hiding. There's some nasty folks from our old world that want to kill them all, so... it's best to start hiding again." He explains.
Yunomi Stadler     "Oh! No, no, no nerve hit, no foul." Yunomi assures the smaller creature, and she sits down in the grass to listen to him, pulling out a bag from one of her packs. She shakes it a moment, the wax paper opening up and exposing some roasted nuts. "Walnut?" she inquires, offering the package to Golden. "I'm Yunomi Stadler, Izzet League, and... if there's anyone who hassles you here in Ravnica, you let me know. The Izzet keep a pretty good eye on our area, so as long as you see red and blue banners with dragons or eyes and wings on them, you know you're on friendly turf, ne?" she replies. "So... what's trying to off you digimon?"
Golden     "Good to meet you, Yunomi." The small digimon says, flopping down on the grass near the tanuki.
Golden carefully takes the offered walnut and inspects it. New things all the time in the Multiverse, that's why he loved wandering around it. He pops the thing in his mouth and crunches on it (shelled or not). "Hey, not bad."
"Long story short, the same ones that destroyed our world right as all the warp portals opened up to here. The god-computer that is supposed to be running the place and its minions. I thought they'd died with the Digital World but that's turned out to be wrong."
Yunomi Stadler     The walnut is tasty, and slightly spicy! Like they tossed it with a little chilli pepper.

"Huh." Yunomi replied. "And this god-computer thing and its minions, all digimon, are now after the refugees who escaped the destruction?" she questions, leaning back on her elbows as she considers.
Golden     Golden nods, trying another walnut. "Yep. It's called Yggdrasil. You might have heard a digimon named Duke talking about it on broadband radio."
The digimon's voice sounds distorted suddenly, shifting randomly and with some digital distortion between two different voices; one is the voice he was speaking with, the other is deeper and more resonant. The visual glitches start becoming more noticeable as well. "Out of the seven of us that kept Yggdrasil's lieutenant and abominations from overrunning the temple and killing everybody who was trying to escape through the warp gate, I'm the only one left. I... don't want to see that happen again."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi studies the digimon carefully, watching as the voice begins to glitch, as its form slightly shifts.

She gives a small, sad smile, and she leans back, taking in the sweet smell of the grass as she looks up to the canopy of green that hides the smoking skies of the city beyond.

"I recall a voice belonging to a Duke... but I've been so busy I'm afraid..." she apologizes, and she heaves a heavy breath of air. "... I see..." she trails off. "... I'm sorry."
Golden     The MetalMamemon breathes deeply. Probably should have kept that to himself instead of burdening others with it. "Anyway, this place is beautiful, sorry if I wrecked the peaceful atmosphere, miss. What was the Multiverse like when you ended up in it?" A lighter line of conversation, he hopes.
Yunomi Stadler     "It is, but it's the result of a lost homeland." Yunomi explains. "The Guardian of my homeworld failed to protect it from an invasion. As a result, the refugees came here, when the gates were opened to us... sometimes the most beautiful flowers blossom from the strangest soils. Sometimes out of sorrow comes beauty and good."

The ears on top of her head flick slightly.

"When I arrived as a little one? Ah... chaotic. The Union was based in a massive mega-city then, sprawling over thousands of acres. I lived in a different city called London for a while, which was interesting. Very different from my homeworld. We didn't even have electricity, let alone computers. I had to get used to a lot of things."
Golden     Golden nods silently as Yunomi explains the lost homeland part. No need for him to add to the sad atmosphere further.
Golden hmms. "I guess I never saw those parts. Lots of places to get lost in if all you have is your own feet."
ZHe gestures at Ravnica's spires. "Like this place. I could probably poke around for a billion years and still not know every little corner of it."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi gives a bit of a laugh. "The dragon who brought me here lived for tens of thousands of years, and even I surprised him with new places that I found." Yunomi explains. "It's impossible to know every nook and cranny, I'd wager, because things /change/. All the time." she smiles. And pos another walnut into her mouth. "THere are lots of places to get lost in here, though, and often times very easily."
Golden     Golden yeaaahs. "That's why I think even if Yggdrasil decides it wants to destroy the Multiverse, it's not going to get very far. There's way too much stuff for it to wipe it all out. It's also why I'm trying to get other digimon to scatter further out into the multiverse. It'll make it way harder to find them."
Yunomi Stadler     "A sound strategy, but how are you to communicate with one another should Yggrasil start hunting you down one by one? There is such thing as safety in numbers...." Yunomi begins, and leans back a moment. "And having allies doesn't hurt."
Golden     Golden grins. "Well, if they have to go crashing around the Multiverse to find digimon, they're going to attract a lot of attention, which is where allies come in. Plus I'm going to make them want to hunt me down first by being the biggest pain in the butt I can to them."
Yunomi Stadler     That makes Yunomi laugh. "Oh, man! You sound like me when I was younger!" she laughs, "All right, you got spirit, Golden. I like that. You ever need any help, you can call me out on the broadband."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi sits up, giving a wry grin. "And any of my allies should help out too. A friend to the Izzet is a friend to all of us in the league."
Golden     Golden points to the icon on his metallic mask. "In my world, that's the Crest of Courage, and I didn't earn it by doing nothing. If you need help, I'll return the favor and come running, Yunomi."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi gives a grin. "You got it. Courage is one of my specialities. I think we'll get along just fine."
