Robin      It certainly wasn't unusual for all sorts in various garb to attempt to access the Union headquarters, but those who attempted to infiltrate would do so subtly and those who were allowed in would merely just... enter. What was unusual this time was a young man- or an old boy- trying to access repeatedly via direct methods. Pushing button codes to gain access, and failing... and trying again... And failing again. Whether it was foolishness or tenacity, after a few of these failed entry attempts, security was notified. To his credit, the teen, noticing the alert, just kept on trying, a glance to a held object that he seemed convinced held the proper code.
Toph Beifong     There are steps coming from behind. Light steps, and perhaps only audible to people who are used to listening and paying attention to their surroundings. If Robin does turn around it will be easy to see the person approaching. a young girl at about five feet tall, barefoot and clad in what appears to be asian styled green and yellow clothes. There's a green satchel hanging over her shoulder, and she's walking rather calmly. Though when she walks up to the entrace, she sighs heavily, causing some of the dark hair to get blown up and out of her face.

"You gonna stand there all day?"
Sarah Rogers     Sarah comes hovering through the entrance looking rather annoyed. She's dressed casually in a black T-shirt and denim jeans, but She's got the Star Shield in her left hand, and a half eaten sub sandwich in the right. "Hey Pebbles.. what's going on?" She says with a grin to Toph, then looks at Robin, "You do know you're setting alarms off all over the place, right? You coulda just knocked or something." She's a bit uncertain about that last part of her statement though, How does one request access to Njorun?"
Zephyr Windstar     "Yeah, you're not too bright are ya?" comes a voice likely familiar to the others present, save for the new guy. Zephyr lowers slowly from overhead, arms folded over her chest as her Barrier Jacket flutters in the breeze. She's not hard to miss, being garbed in bright yellow and orange. "Hey Pebbles, Baby Cap." she nods in greeting to the others. Likely placing the voice in Sarah's case.
Staren     Security aren't sure what to make of it. Anyone trying to get in like this is clearly an elite, but who stands there pressing buttons instead of trying to blast their way in, or leaving to try sneaking in another way? Still, Robin might be dangerous, so the UEF is notified... and among the responders showing up is Staren. He's actually gone out another warpgate, and comes in behind Robin. "...Did you lose your radio or something?"
Robin      Half-turns when Toph approaches, mostly over-focused on what he's doing. It's just a kid. A grumpy kid, apparently, but not something to inherently worry about. Still, he can ask her the important question. "Maybe. Can you read this for me?" he asks, holding out... something to Toph, not realizing that she can't. And then his attention turns as he sees more people showing up behind her. He takes them in carefully, giving them a moment to do the same to him. He gives off the appearance of remaining relaxed, though he's always a bit uneasy about particular gatherings like this. "Well, you know how it is. I tried calling ahead, but couldn't find my extention. Apparently Mr. Piccolo doesn't even work here any more." A glance to the object in his hand, "Not that I'm sure I do, either..."
Toph Beifong     Oh hey, some familiar voices and shapes for once!

When the young Miss Rogers arrives Toph arches an eyebrow, though she doesn't turn her head. "Nothing, was just about to head on in and deliver some stuff," she responds. And man, everybody is following Frederica's cue for nicknaming her, huh? "Heya Hurricane. Yo Staren."

When Robin asks her to read something though she snorts... and then reaches one hand into her satchel, digging around for something. "I don't recognize your voice," the earthbender states firmly. "You're not in the Union, are you? Whoever you are."

Suddenly she pulls something out from her satchel... a metal gauntlet? She puts it on her left hand with ease, then grabs whatever Robin is holding to her with her right hand, only to move her left metalcovered fingers over the item. At the same time there are some soft clicking sounds from the fancy glove. After a few seconds she snorts, handing the item over to Sarah.R
"Nopes, I can't read it. You try, Babycap."
Staren     Staren just sort of mentally sighs when Toph is asked to read something. (He doesn't know if she carries whatever Tony made her around all the time). He quirks an eyebrow at Robin's namedrop. Mr. Piccolo? There might have been an elite by that name, but he sure doesn't remember. He doesn't know a lot of people. "If you worked here..." Staren runs a hand through his hair, the other resting on his waist, "...and as an elite, I'm guessing by the get-up... As far as I know you're still welcome unless you were kicked out or something. What's your name? ...And where've you been for so long?" He /is/ kind of curious why someone might show up like this after a long time. His tail twitches behind him as he speaks.
Robin      The card is- or more accurately was- an identification card for... well it looks like it might have once said Union, but in addition to the card being ancient (the picture is of a baby-faced tween, albeit with the same dark hair and domino mask of the man at the door), it's been burnt, underwater, bitten by at least one piranha, electrocuted, and faded to the point where only the most eagle eyed could read any of the words on it, and even then, the identification number is impossible to properly make out.
Zephyr Windstar     "Hurricane?" asks Zephyr, smirking a bit at the young looking Earth Bender. She doesn't let her attention waver too long from the new guy. She takes a look at the card in his hand, frowning a little bit but remains largely silent.
Robin      "Call me Robin," he says, in that way that makes it clear it's a handle, not a name. "Helped out here years ago, against threats like Kefka and Magneto, but my..." he pauses, struggling to find the word "...partner wasn't a particular fan of getting too close to big organizations. I don't work with him any more." He felt that was a sufficient explanation, in part because he didn't particularly want to go into it any deeper. He seemed satisfied, though, both of what he said and that he was making the right decision that his ex-partner wouldn't.
Robin      "...Didn't do anything to the card, though," he added as an afterthought. "That's just normal wear and tear."
Staren     Staren snaps his fingers. Or at least, attempts the gesture -- there's no real snapping sound, he doesn't actually know how to do it. "Kefka! I remember that guy. Magneto too because he came to my world and tried to take on the Coalition. Wow, it's been some time, huh? Well, Robin," he looks the grown-up Boy Wonder over, "I think all we need to do here is have an officer look you up in the records and let you in -- if you are who you say you are. I'm pretty sure we have an officer right--" He looks at Sarah. Nope. Then at Zephyr. Nope. Then Toph. Not that he didn't remember she's an officer, but he's not sure how used she is to looking up records.

"...Here. Um... do you have a computer you can use, do you want me to check, or do you want to just ask ARTHUR?"
Toph Beifong     "Hey, you were whining for a nickname, take it or leave it," Toph shrugs at Zephyr's comment.

It's more curious with the guy and his strange unreadable item. At least it seems that a seeing person can make heads and tails of it easier than she can. "An ID card?" So this guy was former Union? When Staren brings up that an officer can look up this guy's status she sighs, knowing fully well that she is the only officer present as the others are allies. With a sigh she takes off her reading glove, stuffs it back into the satchel, then pulls out a rather battered radio and switches it on, all without looking at it.

"Lessie if Arthur is about..." she mutters.
Staren     Staren facepalms when Toph assumes he's talking about Arthur Lowell. Things are clarified on the radio, and Staren's face brightens when he's reminded that Toph is a living lie detector! That will save time, Robin /probably/ won't have to go through psychic scanning.
Toph Beifong     After some brief moments however she blinks, then lets out a groan and mutters to Staren. "'scuse me for not knowing every cruddin' AI in the Union then," she sighs. "I don't have a computer with me, and I don't look into the records that often. You check." Though she does point an index finger nearly straight into Robin's face. "What's your full name?"

    "When were you last here?"
Sarah Rogers     "That was all before my time." Sarah says with a shrug, "I've only been unified for a few months. Toph, you're not getting any bad vibes off him right? He seems legit to me. Except for trying to hack his way into the station." She looks around at the gathering in frustration, "We have to have some kind of portable gadget that can verify his identity, Tell me where to find it and I'll fly up and get it!"
Zephyr Windstar     "I didn't say it were a bad thing, Pebbles." replies Zephyr, then shrugs at Sarah. "Makes sense t'me too kinda." the wind mage seems pretty flippant, but to someone like Robin, able to read people, it's just an act... mostly. Heterochromic eyes turn back on the older Boy Wonder, brow quirked. She's letting the others do the talking. She's more a girl of action, herself.
Robin      Robin, while he's waiting, examines the group, eyes lingering on Sarah Rogers' armament for a bit longer than usual before his attention turns to Toph's question. "I was in the system as Robin. I was last here..." he thinks on that. Hard. "More than a few years ago." Knowing more accurate than that would require him having access to some records he'd abandoned his ability to tap into when he left home, and time gets weird when superboy keeps punching the universe.
Staren     Staren waves a hand at Toph. "It's fine. I can confirm he's in the records from the time he describes, although obviously I can't show you..." But Toph knows he's telling the truth, obviously. "Just tell the guards to let him in for a DNA scan." He looks to Robin. "We'll have you in in a few minutes, I think. Um... So." He tilts his head slightly and smiles. "Looking forward to actively working with the UEF again?"
Toph Beifong     It seems like Toph is listening intently as Robin speaks, and when Staren tells her that the records match up, her mind is set. "If he's a liar, he's a damn good one." With that the short girl turns towards the entrance, waving at the others to follow her. Then she contacts the guards. "This guy is with me, and if he misbehaves I'll handle it. Take him in for a scan and to update his records." Pause. "And his ID card. Preferably one that's waterproof."

With that the door opens, and Toph waves Robin and the others with her. "Come on now."
Robin      "I'm not sure you have my DNA on record," Robin states. "My partner tended not to approve of such measures." He turns and walks in after Toph's gesture. "But it's been a while. You probably have a new interview, new questions for me anyway. I'm sure I could forward my resume." It's unclear from his town if that's a joke. "I do have one question first, if I may..." he turns, gaze looking to Sarah Rogers again.
Sarah Rogers     "Finally a decision!" Sarah beams. She looks ready to head back inside but catches Robin's gaze, "I'm not sure if I'm the best one to answer questions here, but I'll do my best. What is it?" She looks back at him curiously.
Staren     "We'll work something out." Staren reassures. He's still trying not to let on about Toph's abilities, just in case 'Robin' /is/ a fake and lets something slip. But that seems pretty unlikely at this point. "What's your question?" He wonders, as he walks after Toph as well. Whichever way this goes now, he's intrigued to see!
Robin      "Is that a replica, or did something happen to Captain America?" He made a point of being difficult to read while asking that question. Either the Captain was dead, and she was his... protege, maybe? She did work for the Union, or she was a copycat who was trying to be like her favorite hero. Which he supposed he couldn't blame, and a quick thought of her being the neighboring dimension's version of Batgirl threatened to bring a smile to his face, though he kept it down for the moment.
Toph Beifong     "We have Cap here," Toph responds. "We have more versions of people here, and we also have a James Rogers with a shield too. Both he and Babycap here are Captain America's kids."
Sarah Rogers     "The answer to that is very.. Multiverse." Sarah replies with a heavy sigh. She taps on her shield to demonstrate the un-sound of Vibranium. "I'm Captain America's daughter, but not the Cap we have here." She nods to Toph's explanation. "In my world He was trapped on an... let's call it an alien planet for simplicity's sake, and I ended up here trying to find us a way home." She neglects to mention exactly how she acquired the shield. "Still working on that actually if you know anyone who can help."
Staren     "There's a lot of alternate timelines." Staren adds. And holds a hand to his head. "His /kids/, huh? That's gotta be awkward. I hope that evil future tyrant girlfriend is the worst of that sort of thing I have to deal with. That counts as my fair share, right?"
Toph Beifong     "Evil future tyrant girlfriend...?" Toph blinks, arching an eyebrow at Staren's comment. "And here I thought me as chief of police was crazy..."
Robin      "Alien planet? Hmm. I'll assume you already tried going to your world's X-Men and Avengers." Distracted now from the whole notion of getting himself situatated, he starts mentally going through a list of people who might be able to help. "If you gave me more specifics, I could try putting the Titans on it, though our spaceship is a bit unreliable. When I was here last, the Union had more than a few people with experience on other planets. How forward have you put the question to others?"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr remains pretty quiet. Then when people start introductions, she waits, then pipes up. "M'name's Zephyr. Zephyr Windstar. TSAB Armed Forces. I'm part of the 493rd Ground Division as the Air Wing attache." she offers.
Staren     Staren quirks an eyebrow at Toph. "The Archmagister? It's a long story." Then Staren fingersnaps-but-not-really and points at Toph. "Oh yeah that's right! Korra was from your future, wasn't she!"

Staren looks to Robin. "I'm Staren, by the way. Researcher of problems for the Union." He holds out a hand to shake. "We might have met before briefly? I didn't really keep good records back then. And we do have a lot of costumed heroes..."
Robin      Offered hand? Robin shakes. It's only proper. "I'm Robin. Founding member of the Justice League, the Teen Titans, and the New Teen Titans." He's not lying. Toph would be able to tell that he's a bit wavery on calling himself a founding member of the Justice League... but he's not /lying./
Sarah Rogers     "I have to hear that story sometime!" Sarah replies to Staren with a bit of an evil grin on her face. She ruffles Toph's hair playfully, "With Tony raising you there's no way that'll happen." She teases, though the idea does make her wonder about it. She turns back to Robin, "I'm Sarah Rogers by the way. Crusader's my Cape name but I don't use it very often unless the locals expect it. And yeah, the Avengers here are trying to help. Tony's hard to pin down for very long, and Banner's still getting over he idea that I knew a version of him that's at peace with himself, but there's a trickle of progress. I have yet to find what;s left of the X-men, in my reality most of them are either dead or still stuck on the battleworld."
Toph Beifong     Oh right. Introductions. "I am ensign Toph Beifong of the Union, the greatest earthbender of all time," the small teenaged girl states with as much authority as a young girl can have in her voice and posture.

"We have enough super heroes here, though I do think the Avengers is the most active group nowadays..." Even though there hasn't been much to do the last months. Sarah's comment though makes Toph snort. "Like that matters, Babycap. I got enough to do nowadays anyway."
Robin      "Crusader's your cape name?" Robin smiles, on the verge of laughing at a joke that only he'd understand. "I like it. Sounds like you're not too worried about hiding your identity, though. Are you that comfortable here, or is that just... not a thing you do?"
Staren     Staren shakes the hand. "/Three/ superhero groups? Nice." At Sarah's comment Staren slumps a bit and glances sidewise at her. Somberly, he replies, "It's not a great story. Think about what it would take to turn someone evil. We hope we can find a way to redeem her, but it's going to be a long and /very/ difficult road."

    "...Battleworld?"
Sarah Rogers      Sarah shrugs at the question, "I never really felt the need to hide. The patch of the multiverse that's closest to the earth I'd been told about is.. I'd guess you'd call it the Union Avenger's world?" She offers unccertainly. "...It's where I'm the most comfortable. Stark went public as Iron Man years ago, everyone knows who Steve Rogers is, and so on."

She winces apologetically at Staren, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit a nerver. I'm suddenly a lot less curious now."
Staren     Staren blinks. "Err... it's not really a nerve, just uh... from the tone you asked, I don't think it's what you were expecting. Less 'Upside down mirror universe where bad is good and good is bad', and more 'alternate world where everything went really to shit', you know?"
Robin      "Maybe we should finish up with business. I'm not particularly worried about high-level clearance or authorization. I'm mostly here to share my new contact ifnromation and say that, yes, I'm here to help when there are people in danger. Don't be afraid to call." He pulls out a piece of paper offering it... in the general direction of Toph, but unsure if someone else is going to take it instead. It includes two phone numbers and an e-mail address.
Toph Beifong     Without turning her head towards him Toph still picksup the piece of paper. "We'll get you set up with a radio so you can talk with the rest of the Union," the girl says. "Also, make sure you get the codes to get in and out. I don't feel like being here all the time to let you in, Birdie boy." That last sentence is said with some teasing to it, it sounds like.
