Yari Takane It's always bad when Yari hears that Sanary was seriously injured. But rumors she lost a /foot/ to the whole ordeal has made the ninja literally sneak her way into the medical area with all due haste. Thankfully having Elite-level clearance helps.

When she's into Sanary's room, every pretense of stealth is dropped as she looks about for her bedloved warrioress.

"Sanary? Are you awake?" There honest-to-Emperor fear in her voice.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's definitely not looking like she's in the best shape she's ever been in. Bandages all over her arms and torso, one around her head, and her left leg is propped up in a nice, thick cast.

Still better than her right, at least. That's the one the foot came off of! Needless to say, she's still a little woozy-lookng even while laying in her bed in medical. Not enough to skip doing homework, but she definitely isn't going to be heading out to fight anyone else tonight.

Thankfully, the ninja coming her way isn't coming to kill her! She even grins brightly when Yari comes in, trying to look as if nothing's bothering her at all. "Eh? Oh! Hey, Yari. New room tonight, in case you were wondering. Ah... Little cramped, but at least I don't gotta get my own food."

She laugh, then winces slightly and rubs her side (also bandaged). "S-so. What's up?"
Yari Takane Yari's eyes are wide, surveying the damage. That foot...Her jaw sets, and then she forces a smile, walking over and sitting down by Sanary. She reaches over to take, and squeeze the other girl's hand.

"Hey." She says at first, gazing into Sanary's eyes. She tries to look strong for her. She needs it.

"I'll get you anything you need." She responds quickly. Her tail's now holding onto Sanary's hand too. Pat pat pat lizard tail!

"I'm checking up on you. And you're terrible at hiding how you feel, Sanary." Scoot scoot scoot, and then she offers a hug.

"Tell me what happened. I'm here for you, Sanary. And I'm going to do everything I can to make sure you get healed up or we find a replacement."
Sanary Rondel      "Aw. Thanks. But I'm fine, really. Although if you know how to algebra..." Sanary gives one of those books a light nudge before giggling softly in appreciation (and mild delirium), eventually reaching over with her free hand to pat Yari's tail. It's a thick math workbook, opened to a page containing somewhat basic triangles.

She's working on it, at least!

"Is it that obvious? Mm..." Sitting up slowly, Sanary's actually moving fairly easily aside from the occasional wince, and she takes the offer easily via nearly dropping into Yari's arms.

"So there's this new Confederate, right? Name's Linne, needed help rescuing her master. Long story short, the guy holding her hostage did some.. Weird teleporting thing, and I fell at a helicopter. Totally kicked the helicopter's ass, though." She laughs and winces again, a more somber look settling onto her face seconds later. "Never did find the lady's master, though. So... Mission failed. Nn."

That last part seems to be eating her quite a bit.
Yari Takane "Plenty, actually. But you have more important things than homework right now."

As the girl falls into her arms, Yari hugs her close, warm and those scales are soft.

She listens quietly, nodding at several points, and then she's looking her in the face.

"I see. You tried your hardest, and failed, despite everything."

She falls easily into the role of a veteran soldier.

"It's cliche, but you will not win every battle, Sanary. Missions fail. The only thing you can do is ensure that everyone makes it out alive, make sure you get out alive, and then grow and learn from it. Tell me. What did you think you failed in? How did your actions contribute to the mission failing?"
Sanary Rondel      Sanary lets out a heavy sigh as she settles into the hug, her body somehow feeling heavier than they have all day. "Y.. Yeah. I mean, we got the soldiers to retreat and we killed the leader, but the hostage is still missing with no leads on where she went. Freaking... Door guy's dead, too."

She grunts in frustration and hugs Yari around the side tightly, not seeming all that sure of what to actually do with her hands. Part of her wants to hug something, another part wants to just maintain the hug, and part of her is still numb from the massive amount of meds she's still taking.

"All of the Elites came out alive. Got some of the maids, too, but not all of 'em. Rrgh... Aside from the hostage, you mean? Well..." She trails off, pausing to adjust her eyepatch and rub her forehead. "We... Took care of just about everything else, actually. But if I was faster, or if I shot the guy instead of bluffing... Hell, if we didn't get caught off guard by that teleporting door trick? Probably would've been a complete success."
Yari Takane Yari is a solid rock to Sanary's weary body, keeping her up. She eventually scoots into the bed, grabbing pillows, making sure she's comfy and Yari isn't getting in the way of any IV's.

"So then the only problem was that the enemy, with unknown capabilities, made use of them to evacuate the target before you could reclaim then."

"You lack experience and flexibility. Sanary, I think the best thing for now is to look to the future. Don't second guess yourself. You need to learn confidence, and how to follow your gut when you make a decision."

She rubs Sanary's hair gently.

"I'm taking you on more missions. You will learn to adapt, to know that what you're doing is the right decision. Next time, you won't hesitate."

"Until then, we need to do something about this. What did the doctors say?" She tail-points at the leg.
Sanary Rondel      "Well.. When you put it that way." Sanary chuckles softly and rests her head on Yari's shoulder, actually smiling a bit. Reassurance successful! "Guess it wasn't /that/ huge of a failure. Or...I mean, it was, but... Not unexpected?"

Yari's definitely got a knack for calming the healer down. Hair ruffling, being a pillow. "And we did take out that guy even with his... Thing he did. Mm... Definitely gonna need to do more missions, yeah. I'll be ready next time."

Looking from Yari's tail to her leg, Sanary rubs her neck lightly while tapping her forehead against the Au Ra's shoulder lightly. "Well, they said to stay off of it until it recovers fully. Good thing is that it's not a permanent loss, but... Yeah, it's gonna be weak for a while. Just hope it doesn't /stay/ that weak for too long, you know?"
Yari Takane Her own head gently rubs against Sanary's own, being a wonderful Au'Ra pillow.

"Good, you understand. And that's the first step to getting stronger and being able to truly win, Sanary."

And then she's focusing on the foot.

"Good. Good." She flinches, her tail reaching to scratch at a phantom pain. She'd hate if Sanary had to go through what she did.

"You will recover. You will grow stronger. And as soon as you are on your feet and out of here? I am going to take you to those lovely baths, give you a nice, long massage, and have you fall asleep in my arms in a safe place. How about that for an excuse to get better, hmm?" The lizard woman beams a bright, loving smile.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's definitely having an easier time relaxing with Yari around, shifting around on the bed to get her legs in a more comfortable position. "Yeah... You're right. Next step is looking into that door thing, I guess. Understanding how that works so I can prepare for it. And.. Helicopters."

She shivers briefly. Recalling what happened and imagining what could have happened isn't pleasant!

"Should probably get in touch with that new lady, too... Uh. If she's not too mad about the bluffing thing, anyway." Sanary slumps just a bit, although she does perk up once Yari mentions her plan for the near future. "That... That sounds good, yeah. Maybe even sneak some booze in?" She raises an eyebrow and flashes Yari a mischievous grin. So what if the healer doesn't drink all that much herself?
Yari Takane Yari considers. Mmm.

"You could upgrade your gunaxe. Or learn to use explosives and rocket launchers." Pause.

"...No, the Lord Legatus would kill me if I gave you a magitek armour." No vanguards for Sanary!

They'll work on it.

Somewhere, Linne K. Park sneezes.

"No doubt your skills in social situations will carry the..."

She descends into fake coughs. Nope. She can't finish that sentence. NOt with Sanary here.

"I'm sure you'll endure the situation. She might not be so angry." There's a hopeful sound here.

As she lays out, gently encouraging Sanary to use her as a full on lizard pillow, she smiles.

"I'm going to get you so drunk that the only things you remember are you, a comfy blanket, and me." It's a promise. Leaning up, she plants a gentle kiss on Sanary's cheek.
Sanary Rondel      "That... Hmm. Could probably try and get new shells for it, yeah... Or even make it launch /explosive shells/. Or or rocket shells!" Now the gears are turning. The terrible, terrible gears.

"... I won't tell him if you don't." TERRIBLE GEARS. At least Sanary's perked up considerably and isn't in the dumps like she was a while ago. She does wince after getting a little too hyped up, though, and settles back down onto Yari.

She also pretends to look offended by that comment about her social skill, although it doesn't last long once she breaks into another quiet snicker. "Hey, I did freak that guy out. So that's... Something, yeah?"

And then there's the telltale yawn of the meds really kicking in again. "That doesn't sound half-bad. Booze, food, comfy you... If it didn't hurt so much, I'd start thinking about doing this on purpose."
