Yari Takane Yari's always been one to downplay her wounds when she speaks, relying on stubborn ninja pride through official channels. But when Sanary arrives at the guest quarters? There's an exhausted Yari awaiting her. She smells like smoke and blood. Not necessarily unusual, but half stripped down as she is, it looks like she's ran into a burning building by the wounds covering her back, stomach, and especially on her arm.

The only reason she made it here was thanks to Gawain's thoughtful escort.

There's also someone new in the room. Shivering and clutching Yari's tail like a favorite doll, a young girl dressed in burnt silks huddles near the ninja. There's tears in her eyes, fear...and yet determination and what might just be worry. She's an adorable young girl even with the light burns she's suffered and the cough. Smoke inhalation no doubt. But she's gotten off light compared to Yari. It might not be too hard to put two and two together.

She's possessed of a tall and tough build for an asian girl, and it's easy to imagine her becoming a blacksmith or samurai. Her gaze, for all the terror, holds a spark of bravery.

Despite her wound, Yari is gently rubbing the girl's head and whispering to her warmly as she awaits Sanary.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary gets herself to Dun Realtai fairly quickly upon hearing Yari's request, opting to fly on the back of Forneus for a short while until she gets close enough to see civilization. A few taps on a touch screen (she's getting better at it), and then it's time to hoof it the rest of the way! No sense scaring the residents, after all. The healer's dressed in her coat today, staff and shield on her back with her trusty gunaxe on her hip. She's looking a little more tired than she normally does, but that won't stop her from getting to Yari's side!

And once she's there, she's quick to set the shield and weapon against a wall before finally noticing that girl with the Au Ra. "Yari! What happened? Is this...?" That girl gets a blank look before her expression softens just a bit. Sanary's trying to look slightly less scary!

"Ah.. Hey there. Did Yari take good care of you?" She takes that staff off her back as she speaks, wiggling it a few times to get a better feel for its weight before starting to focus her energy into it. "Let's see if this works... Neither of you have anything stuck inside you, right? Or any fractures or breaks?"
Yari Takane Sanary is definitely a frightening woman at times, and very briefly does the little girl shrink back. But only for a moment. She closes her eyes, lets out a breath, and then the fear vanishes.

The girl looks to Yari, and Yari smiles.

The little girl looks back. "Umm...hello, miss healer. My name is Linh!" Comes the girl, offering a slightly pained bow.

Linh perks up a bit, and hugs Yari's tail tighter.

"She saved me." Says the girl simply, on the verge of tears, but holding them back. A brave soul, this one.

Yari gives a gentle hug, wincing.

"It's a long story. I'll tell you the whole thing later. But she was trapped in a burning building. Nnn." Yari shivers, her strength leaving her, and she falls back upon the bed breathing hard.

Yari's in bad shape.

The girl manages to hold in a shriek. Yari mumbles.

Linh stands up, and looks to Sanary.

"No. I don't. And I don't think Miss Takane does. Please...you'll save her, right?" Those bright eyes look up imploringly at Sanary. Sanary is no longer a scary, coated, scar-faced woman with a missing eye.

She's someone holding a life in her hands.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary relaxes for a moment at the girl's smile, managing a light chuckle at being called 'miss healer'. It's... Actually a pretty nice feeling, oddly enough. Would any kids like her still call her that if she kept going through with what she's been planning? Only time will tell.

"Good to meet ya, Linh. I'm Sanary." She gives her a light pat on the shoulder before approaching the bed Yari's on, looking her over quickly to get a better idea of the extent of her injuries. Definitely not good, but definitely not the worst Sanary's seen before.

"Doesn't look like anything's stuck inside, so that'll make things easier... Heh. Of course I'll save her!" She flashes the two a confident grin as she holds that staff over the Au Ra. She doesn't start using it yet, however, instead reaching into her coat to take out a quart-sized freezer bag full of burn cream and hold it out to the girl.

"Linh. Can you help me out here and put this on the spots I've worked on? That'll make this a lot easier." Maybe not a lot easier, but definitely faster. Plus, Sanary's about to use a /lot/ of energy.

And then she gets to work. She starts the healing from Yari's head, pumping energy into the staff to send potent healing magics into her and moving downwards slowly. She also uses her hand to direct some healing energy in as well, providing both immediate healing and a boost to regeneration as she progresses.

A normal Mend staff generally lasts the better part of two battles before breaking. If she goes uninterrupted throughout this process, though? It breaks by the time she gets to Yari's knees. She is /very/ thorough.
Yari Takane Linh's face brightens as she's patted, and actually laughs a bit. There's strength to this young girl, and heart besides. It all quickly turns to Yari.

A tiny hand reaches out, and squeezes Yari's tail in hope and concern.

"I...believe in you, Sanary!" Adds Linh, encouragingly, holding in her pain.

Yari gasps, and Linh nods, already starting to apply that cream to her burns. First, the arm. Even someone as young as she knows where to start. She rubs in the burn cream, steadfast in her work, as much as a young one like her can be.

The burn cream eases the initial pain, and then a flood of healing magics rushes into Yari's body. She breathes out, a sigh of relief, her body arcing for a moment before going mostly limp.

Those burns on her body grow red, then seem to recede. She'll need to rest, but the thorough healing puts Yari out of the danger zone after much work. Yari's body relaxes, the pain gone, and slowly her eyes open.

"Sa...nary?" She adds, a bit dazed.

"Is Linh okay?" She asks weakly, tail clinging to Linh, and a hand reaching out to squeeze at Sanary's own hand.

The girl wouldn't take much more than a simple use of a mend to heal up!
Sanary Rondel      Despite the fatigue weighing her down from both today's wave of magic use and the events of the past several days, Sanary's stubbornness doesn't allow her to fall over yet! No, she keeps that healing magic going, tossing the cracked staff aside and just using her hands to finish the rest of Yari's healing. Sure, she's probably putting in way more energy than necessary, but...

She's never /denied/ playing favorites with her healing before. It's just that nobody ever called her out on it before. And Linh's enabling it further, so there. She does reach over to pat Linh's head once and flash her an approving grin, but her focus is on getting all of that healing done first before even letting herself relax.

It's not until she hears Yari speak and feels that hand on her own that the healer finally snaps out of her trance, giving Yari's hand a light squeeze in return. "H-huh? Oh! Yari. Yeah, Linh's right here. Don't worry, I'll take good care of her, too." It's a little tricky after having spent so much already, but Sanary's got an ace up her sleeve!

Technically, it's thermos in her coat, but still. After a quick sip and a half-minute to let the ether sink in and give her that jolt of mana, she's back to healing! This time, it's focused on Linh, and the lack of haste makes it substantially easier for her to circulate it more efficiently through the younger girl's body.

"So... Burning building, eh? What happened?"
Yari Takane Magic flows through Yari, only empowered by Linh's desire and Sanary's care! Reddened tan flesh unswells, and Yari is physically almost as good as new, save for a telling mark on her single arm.

A mark, and no doubt, to become a badge of honor in time.

Yari smiles at Sanary's words, and she finally relaxes.

"Sanary. I won't forget this. Never, I swear it!" Adds Yari, before finally falling unconscious.

The young Linh gasps, then is healed, her physical wounds gone. She's hopped up to the bed, hugging tight Yari's tail, and looking to Sanary.

The brave young girl smiles, sad, and yet looking to Sanary as if she were some kind of saint. "Miss Sanary!" Her mood turns downward slightl for a moment.

"Bad men came to my village. They...they killed everyone." She admits, shuddering.

She looks up, her gaze more hopeful.

"Miss Takane, she made the bad men go away. And then she rescued me. My..." A gulp. No, she has to be brave.

"She couldn't save my parents, but I forgive her! She saved me!" She repeats. Bright eyes peer to Sanary's own.

"I want to...I want to become a person who keeps people safe! Like Miss Takane!" She says suddenly, right up close to Sanary, so hopefully. Yari snores, healing thanks to Sanary, but utterly unconscious.

Linh crawls into bed, healed, thanks to Sanary and looks to her.

"Miss Sanary? I want to be your friend." She ends, before snuggling close to Yari.

She falls asleep soon after.
Sanary Rondel      Once the healing process is finished, Sanary finally lets take a seat on that bed. She's still got enough energy to keep the eye on, but she's very tempted to let it power down just so she can rest a little bit more. "Just take it easy, Yari. I'll top you off in the morning and..." She pauses to yawn, slumping over just a bit. "I'll give you a once over, too, Linh."

Hearing about what had happened to Linh's village and parents does get Sanary's blood boiling just a bit, though, and she reaches over to ruffle the girl's hair softly. "Yari's great like that. But don't worry. Once we're all recovered... We'll find those guys. And we'll make sure they don't hurt anyone ever again."

She's making sure not to say that she plans to kill them, but the intent is probably clear. Sanary herself seems to catch onto this, and manages an awkard laugh before laying on her side in a mildly uncomfortable ball on the edge of the bed. "Trying to be like Yari's a good plan. Protect what's important to you, and... Yeah. You'll do fine."

She even cracks a small smile as she starts to feel sleep taking her. "Let's be friends, then. You, me, and Yari."
