Yari Takane It's closing in on the end of the day when Yari invites Sanary to meet up with her at Dun Realtai. She'd been spending quite a bit of time recently training in Tenra, or more accurately, training while trying to not get devoured, speared, blood drained, or soul-sucked in Tenra.

Yari Takane does not like Tenra.

Thus Yari looks a bit exhausted and a shade or two lighter thanks to all of that exposure to the chill. Still, there's a magical fire lit to keep the room warm, and two mugs of (very) spiked hot chocolate warming just above said fire. Linh has been sent off to spend the night with some local village friends for private time between the two.

When Sanary arrives, she'd find the door opening, and Yari pulling her into a warm hug and a deep kiss! By dropping down from above. Someone's missed the cyber-eyed healer!

More due to the need to breath than actual desire to pull away, Yari lets go and smiles.

"I missed you, Sanary."
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's been quite busy as well, having involved herself in more things than she can even remember. Some of those things are more... Reputable than others, but at least she's looking to be in good spirits, even moreso since this is finally an opportunity for her to see Yari again.

In comparison to Yari, Sanary herself might even look a little darker than usual, both figuratively and literally. Her skin is a little more tanned and showing the marks of someone who's gotten into plenty of scraps, and her expression is a little more tired looking than the last time they met. Still, as that door opens and Yari greets her? The cleric's more than ready to throw herself into the Au Ra's path to catch her and return the kiss fondly. She's not the only one that's been missed!

Of course, when that kiss breaks, she's wearing uncharacteristically bashful frown despite looking at the ninja happily. "I-I missed you too, Yari. Uh... You doing okay? Eating enough? Haven't lost any limbs or broken anything, have you?"
Yari Takane Yari's sharp eyes take in everything, that tired expression, the tan of her skin, and all of those little marks. A brief, sad little expression comes to her face. Sanary has been suffering, and it irks her to no end.

"I broke both legs, my nose, was stabbed in the horns by a kappa, nearly crushed by a very drunken oni, and was forced to engage a flock of tengu in a 'Kabuki Theater Deathbattle'. Medical fixed me up. I still have nightmares about the Eikon-loving birds." She seems fine, physically at least now!

She walks over, and pulls out two chairs, tail and hand grabbing cups. One delicious hot cocoa on a cold night to Sanary! She sits down.

"I heard about your promotion. Congratulations, Sanary. Your hard work is paying off. I'm honored, Captain Rondel." She stands, and snaps a salute!

Then sits again, and that military face goes away. "How does it feel?" Her now free tail rustles into a drawer! Something is quickly pulled out and hidden in her kimono! Sneaky ninja!
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's expression actually remains fairly neutral as Yari recounts all those injuries she's taken, and the only indication that she's struggling not to just drag her to medical again is the fact that her jaw is clenched tightly enough to suspend a steamroller from it.

"... Huh. S-sounds like you've been busy, then." She does eventually relax, however, the mention of Medical doing the job in her stead relieving the healer somewhat. "Well, it's great seeing you again. Man, these past few weeks... Months? They've been kinda crazy."

Laughing softly, Sanary takes a cup gratefully before slippingo nto the chair, an embarassed grin given to the Au Ra. "H-hey, I'm still Sanary to you. No need for all that... Uh." She trails off, a hand reaching up to stroke her chin lightly.

"... I'm gonna have to get used to that, huh? Hn. Feels weird, honestly." She raises an eyebrow at that odd sound coming from near Yari, although it doesn't seem to bother her at all. If the relaxed smile is any indication, she's just expecting a pleasant surprise soon! "I mean... I know plenty of more qualified people, you included, and this just kinda... Happened suddenly. I mean... Do I really look like commanding material to you?" She even gestures at herself for emphasis, the grin broadening once she tastes that cocoa.

She looks like she'd be more than happy to just stay in here all day.
Yari Takane Yari laughs. "Tenra is awful. Good for training, but I will not be staying there. This place is far more cozy."

Siiip. Mmm, delicious chocolate, marshmallow, and ninety-percent alcohol.

"It is. Hopefully things will become more calm, and we can spend more time together." A pause, and she reaches out, tapping Sanary's nose!

"You are a commanding officer, and you will have the respect I owe you." A little nod, and her face softens. "But as such, if you feel morale and operational efficiency means that first names are mandated, then that is how you lead."

It's good being an officer. She waves away the compliment.

"My time will come when it will come. You have proven yourself a leader on the field of battle. I'd never question that. And you've proven your skills while fight alongside me. Of course you are officer material."

A pause, and she ahem's. Taking out a small package wrapped in paper and a cute pink silk bow, she offers it over.

"Here, Sanary. Mister Gawain told me of a holiday from his homeland where gifts to those you care for are exchanged. Though you've already heard of it, I see." Another smile. There's that bottle of Feroxian whiskey on a desk.

"Thank you, Sanary." Leeeean in, a gentle tail hug! Then she lets go.

"Go on, open it!"

She sounds excited here!

Inside? There's a small locket made of silver, the ornament on it shaped into the national symbol of her Empire. There's also what seems to be a package of chocobo's blood! It reads 'For Tea'. Hopefully that's actually consumable by humans!

"My mother gave me that locket when I first went into battle as a good luck charm. I'm too Garlean to think it truly helped, but...it's a precious memory. I want you to have it, Sanary, a piece of my life to someone who's already given me so much. Merry Christmas."
Sanary Rondel      "I hope so. It's been... I've been keeping busy with work, but..." Sanary seems to be having trouble getting the right words out, although her expression does lighten considerably whe Yari taps her nose. She catches the Au Ra's hand to nuzzle it softly, holding it there for a few moments before letting go with a grin.

"I've missed you. So... Yeah, I hope so." She chuckles lightly and takes a sip of that boozey-chocolate drink, apparently noticing it right away. Has she gotten any better at holding her drink since the last time they met?

Well, she isn't falling over yet. That's something! "Hn... Have I? All I've really done is heal and power up the more important fighters. Drew a lot of heat for that last job in Hyrule, too, but..." Even with her protests, she is feeling rather good about all the compliments being thrown her way.

Raising an eyebrow at the mention of the gift-giving ritual, Sanary laughs lightly (and a little drunkenly) at that tail hug. She even leans over to give Yari an arm-hug, both to the tail and further up along it! "You heard about it, too, eh? Heh... Aw, you shouldn't have." Taking that package, Sanary opens it carefully before peering at the locket and smaller package inside.

"From your...? Y-Yari, are you sure?" She takes the locket out gingerly and looks it over, both in awe and in sheer shock at holding something so valuable. Swallowing something down, she puts it on carefully before smiling warmly at Yari. "How's it look? I.. I won't let you down. Merry Christmas, Yari."
Yari Takane Yari herself lets out a sigh at the contact, feeling Sanary's warm cheek! "Definitely. I want to take you and Linh lavashark fishing some time! She keeps asking about you. 'How is Auntie Sanary?'" Comes Yari, mimicking the young girl's voice.

Her head tilts, and Yari shakes her head a bit. "So you have been strategically empowering and saving the lives of those beside you, and have consciously made yourself the target of other powers in order to achieve victory." She parrots back. A knowing smile.

Hugs! Yari lingers just a bit, before lets her open it. The ninja looks proud and inspective as Sanary dons it, and Yari nods.

"It looks wonderful. It suits you, even. We are both Confederates, and in that, we're countrymen too. This is more than fitting. You have my love and my trust to carry it. May you find glory and honor in war, Sanary Rondel."

The little ritual over, she clanks mugs together lightly.

"Merry Christmas!" And then drains the entire thing. Cough cough.

"Nnn. Should have used more booze. I'll get the marshmallows."

A refill, and marshamallows for Sanary! "Do you have any operations coming up?"
Sanary Rondel      "Yari, Yari... We are, yeah. I'll... I'll take great care of it!" Sanary rises from her chair briefly to offer Yari a firm salute, although she can't keep herself on her feet for quite that long. Still, it's clear she's not able to stand that long with the alcohol in her system, and she takes a seat somewhat clumsily a few seconds later. The glass is raised, clanked, and downed at the same time!

"So... Auntie, huh? Ah crap, I knew I was forgetting someone." Sanary chuckles and rubs her neck, a thoughtful hum escaping her moments later. "Well... Still got a few weeks left to get Linh something good. Think she'd like an axe to practice with and some... Uh. Some toys?" She gives the Au Ra a hopeful look, clearly a little out of her element when it comes to children's gifts.

"Hoo... Stuff's strong. More booze would be fun, though~ 'specially if..." She waggles her eyebrows briefly at Yari, a thoughtful look coming to her face. "Nn... Nothing huge like the other day. Got a... Helpin' Tommy rescue an agent from... Somewhere? Yeah... You got anything fun comin' up?"
Yari Takane Stumbling Sanaries are cute Sanaries, and the ninja helps her settle back into a chair! Refill time!

"You still can't hold your drink. That's alright. You are adorable when you're drunk too."

Forehead smooch!

A tap to her chin, and then the Au'Ra's tail swishes! "A sword. Get her a wooden sword and shield. She likes knights and dragons." A simple suggestion, but it feels right. Linh had always stared awed at the picture books she'd gotten about Camelot.

A scaled browridge rises, and Yari leans in, whispering to Sanary.

Pulling back, she settles in.

"Nnn. I'll come along. Not my usual operation, but I need the experience. Yes, I have something coming up. A Yakuza branch got the bright idea of raiding a Confederate transport van. There was a magical artifact inside that's going to be auctioned off. Job's going to be simple: get into the auction, find the artifact and anything else worth taking, then kill the Yakuza boss and anyone who resists. Details should be filtering through in a day or so." She sounds way too eager. Organized crimer and her don't mix.
Sanary Rondel      "I... I just haven't had many chances t' drink! Tha's all..." Sanary blushes faintly at that lighthearted teasing from Yari, eventually nodding in agreement with the Au Ra's suggestion... Mostly. "Shields're good, yeah... I guess a sword would be easier to start with if she's not built fer..." She pauses. "... If she wants to focus on technique an' stuff more."

Perhaps the healer knows more about not being built for strength than she lets on!

That whisper draws a confused look from the healer at first, although her cheeks flush a bright red after a few long seconds. Thankfully, Yari doesn't elaborate audibly, and Sanary's more than content not to say anything further. She just nods quickly.

Another drink and a while to relax later, and the healer leans back in her seat. "Great to hear. Yeah, there's some... I forget the details, but someone's gotta get brought out. Worst case scenario, I'll just make a lotta noise somewhere. Definitely lookin' forward to yours, too... Any idea if we're gonna go loud or quiet for it?

She, too, sounds excited. Whether it's because of the chance to raise some hell or work with Yari again isn't quite so clear. Both, perhaps!
Yari Takane Yari sits up a bit! "On site training, then, soldier!" /MORE BOOZE/. Just enough that Sanary's not passing out and still walking. Yari needs her mobile, after all!

"Something light. A shortsword, and a buckler, maybe. Nice and light. Unfortunately I can't teach her to use it, but I know someone who might be willing." Meaning, of course, the ever-vibrant knight Gawain!

Definitely light! Linh, too, is small!

"Good. You're always a good distraction, Sanary, and I mean that in a tactical way. Plus you've more than proven capable of making sure I stay alive."

As for her own mission? A deep, deep sigh. That might be an answer in and of itself.

"The higher-ups want a statement to be made. 'Kick down doors' loud." The absolute worst kind of mission to send a ninja on, but she's been on them before.

Still, she perks up a bit. "But it'll be refreshing to work with you again, and I can try out a few new ninjutsu while we are in the field." She perks up at that!
Sanary Rondel      "Aye aye, ma'am!" Sanary's definitely not all there, giggling drunkenly and taking a small sip of that extra booze. If Yari's not careful, she might very well have an unconscious healer to drag out soon!

"Bucklers're good... Actually got this one big'n recently. Kinda heavy, but great for cover from arrows an' bullets an' shit." She grins mischievously, and she breaks into a laugh at Yari's compliments. "Aw, you know I ain't ever gonna let you die. Anyone that tries'll just die first."

Another laugh, and she braces her chin on the table. "Definitely lookin' forward to that job, then. Honestly looking forward to not getting heat from the Union again, and... I wanna see what kinda stuff you learned with all that trainin'."

Another drink from her glass, and she peers at Yari with a wider grin. "Wanna see... Aaaall of it~"

She should probably stop drinking now.
Yari Takane The bartender that is Yari finally calls our dear heroine, using her deft ninja hands to pluck up that mug! Sluuuurp! She finishes off her own.

"That's your last call." Poor Sanary, no more booze for you tonight!

"I once saw an Au'ran infantryman take a shot from a magitek cannon that accidentally went off with a shield like that. Ruined the shield, and he lost three fingers, but he lived. Two-fingered Tobi, was one good soldier and an Eikon with dice." She remembers fondly.

She smiles, warm and genuine, and a little bloodthirsty.

"And when they've fallen to your axe, I'll be in the shadows, striking at those that you can't reach." A promise made.

Both eyes close.

"I will endeavor to not dissappoint. At least we'll be in a heated environment."

Her cheeks flush, but then, she stalks over, oddly tall looking for someone of her stature. The look on her face is tender, and yet, there's a toothy grin.

One Sanary is picked up, and pulled into bed.

"As you order, Captain~!"
