Yari Takane It's been a long day for Yari, having just barely recovered from her near-assassination to be able to walk. But she has an appointment to keep with the Kawakami Academy's headmaster. She's prompt, dressed in a kimono that actually has a modern cut to it, and has borrowed some of the Fed's tech to conceal her inhuman portions.

One hour and a well-crafted lie later, she'd emerged from the headmaster's office with what she hopes is only minor suspicion. She'd had to mention she had been a soldier at one time to satisfy the sharp old man.

The morning bell rings, and by the time Yari gets to class, she's clad in one of the standard uniforms; white and black blouse, white skirt, complete with the jacket buttoned right up and the missing shoulder portion tied down with a belt.

She'd slipped a few weapons in, too, but not too many. She'd hate to get caught again. Stepping into homeroom just on time, the teacher stands up.

"Everyone. Please welcome our transfer student, Chiyo-san."

In turn, the young woman offers a bow to the crowd, formal.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all. I look forward to learning together and growing stronger. I enjoy cooking and caligraphy."

The teacher looks around for an empty seat! Seems Yari is going to be sat right next to Momoyo for now!
Momoyo Kawakami      With how permissive Kawakami Academy generally is, it was one of the pioneering institutions to start allowing Multiversal transfer students who had reasons to settle in this universe temporarily or permanently. That meant Yari was instantly popular with most of the student's gazes, aside from being pretty cute but her horns and tail as well.

Classes in Kawakami Academy are structured such that to get in the top-tier classes, students had to pass the most recent exams in the top fifty grades. That meant for this first semester, most multiversal residents were actively separated from Kawakami Academy's geniuses, and were not expected to achieve much early on or advance any grades depending on where they were placed. The fact that Yari placed as a senior and was only going to school for two semesters minus any summer courses she enrolled in was impressive, but likely fit into her initial longer-term plans. This class was class 4-C.

Momoyo was clearly grouchy, likely from some conversation that happened with the Unionites before Yari ended up almost advertising Fed presence to Tesshin directly. Nevertheless, Momoyo's sharp eyes eyed the happy horned Chiyo-chan... around all the areas where she'd strapped weaponry. All the other students had missed it, but Momoyo was a veteran combatant at this point. Many of the other samurai descendants would take similar note but say little since weaponry was a part of most student's fighting styles, as long as school regulation wasn't violated.

"Yo." she greeted you, but was remarkably quiet relative to the destruction you'd watched her cause recently.
Yari Takane Definitely fitting in to her plans, though she still has doubts about that meeting. The ninja is yet young, and she's always been more about assassination than spinning elaborate manipulative webs. She's the grunt-work type of ninja, in the end.

At least she didn't have to hide herself. The gazes have been met with a combinaton of glares at those who have been rude, and welcoming smiles and chit-chat with the more restrained admirers. She's hardly rude, and isn't above enjoying being looked at! Thus it is that she's stepped into 4-C with a bit of pride in her step.

Tail curling up, legs crossed, she tilts her head. It's Momoyo! She shivers, remembering the pure destruction and how she acted a day or two ago. Very strange, given how gung-ho she had been.

She's silent at first, waiting for the instructor to begin, but once they're deep into actual assignments to be done, she finally turns to Momoyo.

"You seem like you have something on your mind, Momoyo-san." Comes Yari quietly, not more than a whisper. Yet there's a slight edge of concern there. Is it real or just an act? Hard to tell.
Momoyo Kawakami      Momoyo shrugs. "Union." was all she grunted. She didn't have to say much more, since she was aware of Chiyo's presence that day but it wasn't a high priority. What her grousing didn't say was whether she got recruited or how or anything like that... most likely the argument was with a high ranking member, perhaps Amalthea herself.

"You aren't the only assassin in this school and many were descended from ninja, you should probably be careful." she quips. Seems Momoyo wasn't much of a note taker as her cheek leaned into her palm, staring dully at the chalkboard... but her knee kept bouncing. She still had pent-up energy and was itching for her next fight evidently. Most likely this morning's challengers were more fodder, as her route to school was very much public knowledge.
Yari Takane Eyes close, and she chuckles. "You should be wary of the superfactions. They can be trouble." She responds, rather truthfully. While she loves war like any child of a conquering nation, the pointless and endless nature of the conflict frustrates more than uplifts her...nevermind some of the people she's forced to call allies, or enemies for that matter. Momoyo might notice a clenched fist for a moment, frustration lurking in her eyes.

'Chiyo', it seems /is/ one for notes. Lots of them. She's been taking them the entire time despite the quiet conversation.

There's the slightest of tensing that only someone like Momoyo would notice for a moment. Then she relaxes.

"...Am I losing my touch? I'll be wary. That's good, though. It means I really can sharpen my skills." At least that much isn't coached in lies. She really does want to get stronger.

A glance to that foot, then higher, and a smirk.

Ahem! She raises her hand after putting down her worksheet and setting aside her notes.

"Sensei. The nurse wanted to see me, but I didn't get the chance this morning."

A small, winning smile. "...If someone could guide me..." Hint hint.
Momoyo Kawakami      Ume-sensei sends Momoyo out the door with Chiyo to take her to the nurse. She actually didn't whip anyone, which must have meant the strict disciplinarian was taking a liking to her.

Momoyo folds both her hands behind her head, looking up at the ceiling as she walked along ahead of Chiyo. When she wasn't smirking or grinning or surprised, she usually looked like she was glaring at things all the time in spite of her beauty. "Bah, it would have been fine." she grouses. She must have been chewed out over trying to use her Human Bomb technique on Kenji that day, and the sparring match at the dojo from an international challenger hasn't helped. She's also been getting reporters chasing her around ever since the Gate showed, and has had to send more than one crowd of papparazzi flying.
Yari Takane Good thing, too! That would be an embarrassing start to the school year!

Slowly, Yari smiles more and more. That grumpy attitude, just how dour she seems today and how she glares at the world! The poor woman /definitely/ ran afoul of some of the Unionites. "They must have really been annoyed." No, Yari isn't leaving it alone.

A tap to her chin, just as they make to the hallway that leads to the nurse's office. "You're restless. Is school that boring? Or are you missing the challenge of a fight?" She tries. A woman who fights like that has to be some kind of combat freak, after all. Yari stops near the nurse's door, leaning against the wall.

"I really do need to see the nurse, but there might be time for a spar after. I didn't get to see many of your techniques. I want to see more of them, and how I match up against your strength, Momoyo-sempai." She offers.
Momoyo Kawakami      Momoyo waves dismissively. "Sure. I'd be interested to see what you can do with one arm." she replies, obviously only half-interested. This particular encounter didn't garner nearly as much attention as the previous one, but Momoyo was an easy read. Sharp on the physical details, but she didn't seem too concerned about navigating all the unwritten rules of conversation and subtlety. "I can walk you to the Dojo after school, I'm not going to meet my friends yet today... I still have to explain to them why I'm all over the news, ugh."
Yari Takane One brow twitches. Being almost discounted in a fight grates against even Yari's very limited self-pride. But she quickly crushes the little emotion, remembering her mission. Not that she blames her: the encounter with those two Unionites was something to behold, and even Priscilla was there!

She can still feel the headache.

Yari offers a bow. "Your kindness to a new classmate is appreciated." She says, unlike Momoyo, definitely one for formalities when she can manage it.

Just before she slips into the office, she smiles. "You really shouldn't make a habit of that. Very, very strong people from the multiverse will come after you if you do. Although maybe you'd enjoy that."

In she goes, and after about ten minutes of a checkup and five minutes of explaining why she has healing stab wounds, she slips back out. With a sucker, no less, that she's busily nomming on. Mmm! Slurp.
