Ainsley     Ainsley put up an advertisement for an expedition to an abandoned ruin out in the middle of the Crystaline Jungle region!

    "Hello, brave adventurers and explorers!
I require a band of courageous sorts to accompany me on a trip into an ancient tomb. This trip will be perilous! Expect traps, beasts and possibly worse! But the spoils of our endeavour will be more than worth it! Artifacts of both monetary and historical significance may be found within, and as long as the trip is a success, everyone will be paid and thensome!
    Union Ally, Ainsley the Wizard"

Whether people tagged along because of this or because of her asking them isn't too important. What's important is that the group is already underway! Ainsley has her exploration gear on! It's a beige outfit with a backpack, with shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. She has a pith helmet as well. You'd think it was Halloween, really. She has a backpack and her longsword with her, ready for whatever wild dangers that come there way. While they walk, she scribbles on a notepad, documenting the first step of their journey. The ruin is up ahead, at the edge of a massive lake. The path to the ruin is over a bunch of floating platforms connected by crystaline vines that react underfoot with complementary colors, and emit pleasant noises.

The mouth of the ruin has two large statues of alien creatures in alien armor holding alien polearms. They are holding a regal posture, despite missing a limb or having patches of moss all over. The door of the ruin is shut tight, a great big wooden door with tarnished metalwork. There's a canopy overhead that shines god rays onto the lake below, giving the whole area a distinctly mystical feel.

"Isn't this beautiful?" Ainsley chirps back at the group, as she distractedly walks over the precarious walkway, unconcerned about falling off of it. "They picked a very scenic spot to build this."
Corona Arclite Ruins weren't a typical part of Corona Arclite's fortay, but the quiet of the holidays had the foxgirl bored. This sort of sidequest was a nice diversion from the overt calmness for someone that was much more accustomed to the constant activity that filled many of her days. Hammer shaft rested upon her shoulder as she used the other free hand to wave her calculatory device about, presumably scanning the statues of the entrance in some way. Since most engineers tend to think in numbers and geometries not so much of a suprise there. "Guess even the dearly departed like a room with some view."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa was more than happy to help out Ainsley ont his job. It was a heck of a nice chance and osmething she felt honestly good about doing. She takes a moment to look at the ruin and lets out a low whistle as she take a closer look at it, her optics zooming in. She's also got a pair of rather steampunky goggles on at the moment tht Corona might just happen to notice.

She's also wearing her more normal clothign rather than that high tech stealth suit she's often seen in.

"Hey if your going to leave a last proof of your existance do it in style, right?"
Dorian Pavus     Why Dorian's out there is anyone's guess. But hey, 'paid' is a word he can definitely get behind! Because he's not living off his family's fortune anymore. And he isn't part of one of the factions, so he doesn't get paid. He has to make his own money, with lucrative-- and commonly dangerous-- exploits like these.

So yes. Dorian's tagged along because money. Not that that's the only reason. He'll say it is if asked though! Because we can't have a Tevinter mage acting like he cares about someone, now can we? Don't worry, though. He's not about to leave someone in danger.

He's in his usual, the light leather armor and white cloak over it, staff in hand, since he knows they're probably going to be fighting something very soon. These old tombs are always riddled with traps, and dead things that are moving around far too much to actually be dead, what-have-you.

He follows the group over the walkway, though he's quite a bit more carful as to whether he falls or not. The comments from the group get a smirk. And he adds, "Even better if you can make later generations worship you as a god, hm? Not that it does you much good."
Ainsley     "This particular race is back to the dark ages," Ainsley explains to the group, after they've made their observations about the nature of tombs, "Sadly they aren't as fantastical as they once were. They can barely afford to maintain the villages they have right now. Something about a crop blight and a surge of giant insects...? Their guardians are paying for the artifacts we find in here. They preserved the whole race, they just want to bring them back to their old glory." She looks over her shoulder and tells them, "This was their warrior tomb. They called it..." She holds out a hand and splays her fingers dramatically, but says something alien and unpleasant-sounding that somehow translates to 'Body of Final Rest.' "They had a thing for bodyparts in their naming conventions. Very visceral people."

When they reach the door, she frowns at it, realizing there's no way to open it from the outside.

"Must be barred from the inside. This probably isn't the way the priests got in and out of here, look for a side entrance..." She stands back from the door and sketches out the doorway and the nearby statues in her notepad, writing down notes alongside her sketches.

There are two paths, both that follow the lake's edge and around the ruin. They look a little overgrown, but shouldn't be too hard to clear by hand if one were determined to find a way into here. Of course, the main doors are right there, too, if someone wanted to try something creative or direct.
Corona Arclite "They pro'ly want us bustin' up their sacred buildin' as li'l as possible." Corona considered for the moment just smashing the door in, but with that consideration towards the deceased slings her hammer to her back instead. Instead she pulls on her goggles as she wanders off to the left path of the ruins.

Then stops, putting an ear up against the wall of the tomb, knocking on it with her knuckles and then fiddling with some gadgetry on her goggles. Proceeds down the path a bit farther, then repeats the process.

To the casual observer it would look like eccentric behavoir, but there's a method to the vixen's madness. She's using her fine tuned hearing to try and find a difference between the thick solid walls of the tomb, and a thinner position that could be a door or hatchway. The goggle adjustments are an effort to turn in their magnification to look for cracks or seams that would be the perimeter of a movable opening.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa thinks for a moment as she listens to Ainsley frowns a bit but semes to have a thought for a moment.

"Food can make or break a cutlure. I see well there's a chance they can rise again right? Heh I have a friend who'd approve that that. I'm ready to go Ainsley."

Sith that she launches several small hovering drones which will head out beyond the party to scout ahead and let Kotone cover more ground for the entire party, they are however only visual camers and nothing more.

She'll end up giving Dorian a nods and a smirk.

"We meet again Dorian good to see you and don't realy matter unless your soul sticks around does it? Then again I seen it's often the truth of the matter."

She'll follow after Corona at this point while drones fall in to scanning the wider area of the ruins.
Dorian Pavus     Dorian winces a bit at the sound of the language. "That doesn't sound very welcoming," he observes. "The language, not the actual title. Then again, the title doesn't sound very friendly either."

He notes the door being barred from inside, and looks at the group. "I would strongly advise against just bashing the door down. Maker knows what it would unleash inside. As Ainsley says, if the door here is barred from inside, there must be another way in."

He nods to Kotone's comment. "In this 'Multiverse', I shouldn't doubt it," he agrees. Pause. "Lovely. Now you've gone and made me think MORE horrible things of this place." Though he smirks as well.

While Corona goes to the left (and Dorian breathes a sigh of relief as the decision NOT to just bash the door in is made), Dorian goes to the right to search for another way in. Where Corona uses her hearing, Dorian uses his sens of touch. The hands of a mage must know at a touch what sort of magic is being cast, and the hands are where the force of the spell is metered out. As a result, Dorian's sense of touch is finely tuned. If there's a crack or hatch, he's likely to find it. If that fails, he'll scan for magic in the area. the place doesn't look or feel all that magical, hence why he didn't do that immediately.

Suddenly his fingers run over a crck in the wall. "What's this?" he murmurs. He works his fingers into the crack in the temple's wall and pulls... and it's a door! "Ah-ha!" he proclaims. "I believe I've found something." The space beyond is dark, though.

So he concentrates magical energy into the 'eyes' of the serpentine dragons in that staff. They crackle, and then light up, and a fire springs to life between the three heads. He'll arrange to the firelight to shine into the room, and see what's inside, while he waits for the others to converge on his position. He's not stupid enough to go in alone.
Yukihana Masamune     Perhaps just a smidge late to the gathering, one other appears, after the posted advertisement. Trotting right up to the group at ruins entrance. Maybe something of an odd sight, maybe not in the multiverse. A tiny, white, fox pads right up to the gathering, teeth clenched around the saya of a sheathed katana.
Squinty eyes peer up at the group, bushy tail swishing as she comes to a halt, one paw scuffing at the ground before... She dips into a tiny bow.
Rather formal for a fox, no?
Ainsley     Ainsley happily smiles to herself as everyone is quick to explore and find a way inside. She enjoys when everyone is engaged in the task at hand, and she's more amused by the comments Dorian makes. She even nods at him in agreement! It's not a pleasant language to listen to.

The reptile lady turns and looks at the... fox. If she were to take a guess, it'd be another of the people that signed up for the expedition. Without saying anything, she does a little curtsey back to the fox. "Welcome! We were just trying to find a way inside."

Dorian's hesitance was well-founded. When he opens the door and lights the room up, some massive beetle SLAMS into the archway and just by the grace of the doorway being too tough and the beetle being too big, he's saved the pain of a full-body tackle by a very large and angry bug. The sound of the CRACK of chitin-on-chitin makes Ainsley turn her head in surprise, and then blink owlishly at the sight of a giant Hercules Beetle horn sticking out of the doorway that Dorian was investigating, unable to reach its intended target.

"Maybe we can eat later," Ainsley remarks. Then she scrunches her brow, remembering she's ... probably the only one that finds giant bugs appetizing out of the group. "Maybe not..."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite's tail flicks back and forth in a rhythm as she focuses on the matter, though pausing a moment to glance back the way she came. "It sounds like the wall has spaces for machinery, but it's hard t' pinpoint not bein' familiar with the material." That there is something is enough to keep her looking though, figuring there wouldn't be such elaborate efforts for it to not do anything, and eventually comes to a different spot in the wall. "Well, what do we got here..." She grabs some of the overgrowth and yanks it out of the way.

"Hmmm." She leans over, squinting through her magnifier lenses. "Interpositioned sections within' the wall structure.. might be a console of some sort..." Corona stands up and grabs her analyzer out of a belt pouch again, flipping it open and adjusting its settings. "Any markin' they've wore down over time. But!" She holds up a gloved finger for emphasis. Then starts adjusting setting dials and switchs on the device again. "Iffen Ah can calibrate rawht to scan the mechanism within the keypad, Ah reckon the buttons most used would show the most wear."

With the adjustments set Corona holds up the device in front of the semi-concealed keypad to scan it. "Won't tell us the sequence but it'll cut down the prob'ilities we'd need to shuffle through to deduce it."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa finds nothing of use ot the job but gets some very wonderful views and she'll end up saving this to share with everyone later. She keeps pace with Corona even as more people arrive, she does cthc note from oe of her drones that Yukihana has arrived and it was good to see her out and about. She however keeps with COrona for the moment.

"Humm tht does soune like a thing doesn't it?" She looks over COrona s she works for a moment.

"Good thinking there Corona I'll hang back and let you handle this."
Dorian Pavus     Dorian turns his head to see... a fox. He begins to turn back to the temple, but then looks again as he registers the presence of the sword sheath. he looks back in time to see the bow. Dorian blinks. "Er... hello?" he offers hesitantly to the white fox. It is an adorable animal, after all. Though that sword-sheath gets his attention. Is it bringing the sword to someone?

It's the CRACK of the beetle against the small archway that draws Dorian's attention back to the open door. When he registers the horn-- and the thing it's attached to-- he jumps back from the doorway. "Fasta vass!" he hisses, eyes wide in shock. That is a swear, and it translates to something unpleasant. "And THIS is why you should never go alone," he states. "Though I don't think a sword would have saved me there if I had."

He notes Corona over on the other side still, and observes, "Pardon me, Corona? We have an issue on this side we could use your assistance with!" Though he's not going to wait for her. He aims his palm at the area underneath the giant beetle. A red-orange glyph will appear in the area, and if the beetle doesn't move, a fiery explosion will explode under the beetle!
Yukihana Masamune     Okay, this is, in fact, the place then. Ainsley's greeting is met with a short yip, while Corona futzes with the door. The little white fox is not so little anymore after a moment.
"My apologies for my tardiness, I was attending to a matter for my captain."
Where there was a fox, there is now an elegant fox girl, smoothly and reverently tucking the ornate katana into the obi of her kimono and spending a moment to make herself presentable. "Ah... What manner of ruins are these?" It's easy to see the wide eyed look of wonderment now that she has a moment to actually take in the surroundings without having to focus her attention on travelling.
The beetle however somewhat snaps her back to the moment, hand now on the grip of her blade. "... Are those usual? --For old places such as these, I mean."
Just what rock did she crawl out from? Squinting a little, she opts not to throw herself into harm's way. Or does she? If Dorian's burst of fire does not deter the beetle-- she charges it, katana drawn, gekkering in a wild chatter in a rather assertive display while trying to run by it in the doorway into the next room, but...
At the same time, she's standing right where she is, placid and unmoving. The illusory figure matching the silver-haired girl in appearance is... Apparently that. An illusion to give the beetle something to chase off.
Ainsley     The beetle, while being big and grumpy, is not actually very dangerous or durable. The illusion doesn't do a whole lot -- how can it chase anything if it can't get out of the room? -- but it does distract it effectively. The fire spell pretty much kills the enormous creature on its own, as this thing never evolved a defense to getting cooked alive or exploded. There's a shower of crystal shards as the creature falls apart, the magic holding it together destroyed by the spell. All that's left is a bunch of harmless dust in the doorway when it's done falling apart, sparkling prettily.

Without the beetle blocking the way into that room, it's clear that it isn't actually an entrance into the ruin proper but more of a maintenance tunnel for the mechanisms. It has a pattern of incomprehensible symbols etched into one of the walls, the same symbols that are on the keypad that Corona discovered.

"Oh." Ainsley seems disappointed that the bug disintegrated when it died. "Well." She sniffs and looks at Yukihana, brows lifted. "No, actually, they're not native to the area. I think it's a guardian. There might be more inside the main chamber. There's only the one big room with a few side chambers, based on what I've been told, so expect a fight if we get through this door."
Corona Arclite After a few moments and a couple of blaring red flashes from the device Corona scowls as she stands up. "Well now. Us'ally that turns somethin' up." She pulls up her goggles, then scratchs the side of her head. "Either this wasn't used much, or the internal workin's hold up better than Ah anticipated." Which is a bit annoying, but at the same time, she can appreciate carftmanship that withstands the test of time. Not knowing precisely what sort of mechanism she's dealing with does have it's frustrations, but being deterred isn't in Corona's nature.

Certainly not, seeing how quickly she goes back to work with her analytical device. "Welp, guess we'll just haveta do this the long way, and can still calculate possible combinations based on the number of panels the mechanism has. Instead of just hittin' pattern's blindly."

Corona is so focused on that problem that it takes her a moment (and likely a good jab from Kotone) to realise Dorian is calling for her. "Girl just can't work a problem out peacefully can she now?" Of course by the time she's hustled around to the other side, Dorian has already nuked the beetle, so there's just the opening to see. "Well looks like y'all found a quicker way in after all."
Dorian Pavus     Dorian concentrates on the beetle until he is sure he's at least out of range. And then he looks back at the fox... or rather, where the fox used to be. Now there's a foxgirl? He blinks. Hopefully there's enough to tell the white fox was Yukihana. Otherwise he's going to be quite confused, paying attention to the beetle as he had been up until it died. The sword is probably the same, so there's that.

He doesn't actually know if they're usual for this area, so he stays quiet so Ainsley can answer. But he can't resist adding, "No, but that's the 'fun' of it, isn't it?" The word 'fun' is emphasised with sarcasm. Nonetheless, he does have manners in there somewhere. Most present know him, but he isn't familiar with Yukihana. So he offers a nod of greeting. "Dorian Pavus. Pleased to meet you," he offers, with a bow. He foregoes the usual long introduction, there isn't time.

Corona's apprearance gets a smirk. "Good of you to join us," he teases. As to finding a quicker way in? "Possibly. It does bear investigating. Perhaps it's the servants' door."
Yukihana Masamune     Considering the silvery vulpine ears and tail, and scarlet eyes, there should be enough to make the connection. If not then, the red-scabbard of the katana should really clench the deal, but ever the proper maiden, Yukihana dips into a bow of her own towards Dorian. "Masamune, Yukihana." Given in reply. Short, but formal and polite.
Once again she looks to Ainsley, ears splaying at mention of being prepared for a potential fight. "O-oh." It doesn't sound like it sits well with her, pale lips pursing as she folds her hands together in the flowing sleeves of her robe. "... I will try to not get in the way."
Ainsley     That room has a few notable features.

There's the code on the wall. Possibly the passcode to enter the ruin proper.

The mechanical workings that, presumably, open that big main doorway. There's a problem that only Corona is likely to spot in there, though: The mechanisms are not going to work once they enter the code. There are a few gears that have fallen out of place and some misaligned machinery that needs to be replaced as well. It's all made of the same chitinous material, so it's likely that it's all still intact enough to work once repaired.

There are a few chests decorated in dimly glowing crystals. One of them is cracked open... looks like it contains a bunch of tools the old civilization once used commonly. The other three remain closed.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite blinks a couple of times at Yukihana. "Well now, didn't know Ah wasn't the only fox 'bout these parts. Nice to meetcha." Though possibly to the foxgirl's chargin Corona's idea of a 'proper greeting' is to give her a friendly but firm slap to the back of the shoulder before wanding into the open ruins.

She flicks her headlamp on, and almost immeadiately her attention locks onto the machinery. "Y'all might be rawht bout this bein' a service entrance." She trots over and squats down to retrieve one of the out of place gears. "Looks like they ain't been keepin' up on maintenance, either." Then starts laughing to herself, having realized it wouldn't of mattered if she cracked the keypad sequence anyways. "Just gimme a moment here."

As one would expect of a professional mechanic the first thing she gets to work on is the machinery. Slipped gears, misaligned connections, all in the day's work for her. Though this is a new style of machinery for her, so arguably it in itself is a treasure as far as Corona is concerned.
Dorian Pavus     "Not to worry," Dorian assures Yukihana. "That sword should serve you well enough. But if not, I know Corona is an able combatant. And I'm no slouch either, if I may say." It does sound like a boast, but given how he roasted that beetle, it may not be an unfounded boast. Also if Yukihana (or anyone else for that matter) can see, smell, or otherwise sense magic, she'll be able to sense a high degree of that from Dorian. He's honestly not sure about Ainsley's combat capabilities, so he doesn't mention them.

Though as Corona enters the doorway, Dorian moves to support her. If there was ONE nasty thing in there, there might be more. In fact there probably is! He'll edges around her to try to put himself in front of her. Though he's paying attention as he does, so he doesn't step in or touch something that will hurt him. As he enters the doorway himself, he indicates that Yukihana should enter as well. Though he'll be trying to protect her too, just in case something else nasty comes at them.
Yukihana Masamune     All it takes is one good clap on the shoulder to near bowl Yukihana over! "A pleasure." Is her reply to Dorian, and Corona, before before she gets that firm pat that makes her stumble with a squeak.
Again, she takes a beat and a breath to regain her composure. For a beat she squints at Dorian, but dips her head in a quiet nod. "I would prefer to not have to draw it, if it is not necessary. But I will try to not hesistate if I have to."
Onward and insward, then, scarlet eyes dart over the symbols on the wall as she shuffles forward without so much as a sound to her footsteps.
Ainsley     The process of fixing the mechanism takes a little while. They aren't exactly easy to put back into place even for an experienced engineer, since it's all made of a material that produces quite a lot of friction when pressed together. Once the mechanism is complete, it's a trivial act to open the door. Just press the keypad in the right sequence the door swings right open. Which would mean someone is outside when a bunch of angry beetles come charging out of the ruin.

Ainsley is seen floating up in the air, conspicuously avoiding getting into a melee with a bunch of beetles. She frowns down at the creatures and draws that longsword she brought along with her, but it's clear she's more of a support creature.

Which is bad, because they're spitting green goop up in the air when they spot her, and when some of it hits her, she drops like a rock and falls into the water. SPLASH!!!
Corona Arclite It takes some fiddling and twiddling around, but once she's worked a bit to get a feel for the mechanical design and whatever the unusual material the parts are made out is Corona manages pretty well. Then quickly marks down the keycode from the wall. Which she scurries off to try out. Though even with the proper code, the worn down state of the keys still makes it a bit of a puzzle.

And that is why she's been quite this long.

It also means she's outside figuring out which keys on the keypad are which parts of the code with the bugs show up and starting to attack. "Tarnation!" Reflexively she hunkers down and holds up an arm to shield herself. Which works, if only because of the panel of light-like energy that manifests from the device strapped to said arm, which some goo splurts splatter again. "Hah! Only two days past Christmas, already best present ever!" Though with the hard-light riot shield she can't use both hands for her breaker. Which would probably be why she yanks out her rivetgun-like pistol instead.

Seeing as she has the better defensive position, what with a shield and all, instead of shooting at those beetles she snaps a few shots in the direction of the ones trying to get Ainsley after knocking her out of the air. "Might need a bit o' help out here!"
Yukihana Masamune     Oh dear more of those beetles. Yukihana had been rather engrossed in the chests and their contents. Not for the prospect of loot and plunder, thie the fox-girl seems genuinely interested in the tools of old times long lost to the ages. She's quite curiously inspecting the glowing crystals, as well before things seem to get a bit... Out of hand.
The skitter of chitinous insectoid legs, and the splashdown are what drag her attention back up. "... Ah..."
Rather than go for her sword she draws a slow breath and seems to concentrate. Small, wispy, motes of white fire light seem to appear. Phantom images of small puffs of white fire in the air, floating, swirling, dancing distractingly in the air, the myriad orbs of foxfire light attempt to get the beetles' collective attention, and disorient them.
Dorian Pavus     "That's understandable," Dorian replies to Yukihana's mention of not wanting to draw her sword. "Let's hope you don't have to," he agrees. And then Dorian hears something. A splash! And probably the chittering of the beetles. "...Oh dear." He'll peek out of the small doorway, probably just in time to see Ainsley fall. Not good!

And Dorian does something that's probably stupid. He rushes out of the doorway he'd ducked into, to face the giant bugs. But he's not completely unarmed. Not only is that staff still alight, but he's going to wait 'till they come after HIM, and then direct a line of fire to spring to life underneath as many of them as possible. If they start spitting goop at HIM? He'll just have to light them on fire prematurely!

And he'll look at Yukihana. "Quickly, see to Lady Ainsley," he suggests. He'll try to hold the attention of the bugs in the meantime.
Ainsley     The bugs are, predictably, not very tough. But there's a lot of them and they are very angry creatures. They end up distracted by the white fire lights in their faces, baffled by the phenomenon in the way only twitchy insects can be. And the very real fire from Dorian blows up a few of them, while Corona's shots pierce beetles and create more dust. It's a fairly short battle, with gunfire and magical fire being the main ways they deal with the insects.

Ainsley climbs out of the water soon enough, coughing a few times and grimacing at all of the snot-like gunk covering her clothing. She picks at it and finds it sticks to her hands like slimy glue. "Great..." She sighs to herself. It seems to fade and chip off, slowly, but it's obviously not fun to be covered in.

    "Eugh..."

On the positive side of things, the main chamber is now open. There's a load of coffins all over the main chamber, put into alcoves as far up as fifty feet, and the room is filled with old weapons and armor... as well as scrolls and stone tablets and many odd pictures that show the world in colors that don't seem accurate to normal human sight. It's also pretty well-lit and there's a minimum of dust or cobwebs. The reason for that is that there are a bunch of strange crab-like creatures scuttling around the walls, making sure the room is in tip-top shape. The reason they didn't fix the door? They obviously couldn't get out of this room to do so. One of them scuttles up to investigate a dust pile, picking through it slowly.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite shakes some of the drying gunk off the riot shield before deactivating it. "Iffen Ah'd known more beetles would be out here, Ah'd left a turret out." She tucks the gun back in its holster on her toolbelt. "But at least we got the big doors open, yeah?"

Though once she ambles into the chamber Corona's attention is almost immeadiately grabbed. Not by the coffins or potential treasures, but by the crab automatrons scuttling about. "Reckon those are why they place ain't had reg'lar maintenance visits." She crouchs down to watch one work. This level of self-sufficient automation was something she was still working on.
Dorian Pavus     Once the beetles are dealt with, Dorian goes to Ainsley. "Are you all right?" he inquires. He'll assist in getting the stuff off of Ainsley as well as he can, with careful and quick application of fire. Not to worry, he knows how to control his mage fire with very minute control.

Once she's freed, either through time or fire, Dorian will head inside the treasure chamber, though he won't leave Ainsley behind. But he's still on his guard, just in case these crab-things attack. 'Cleaning', after all, sometimes means taking out human trash, too.

When he doesn't get attacked, he looks around. Corona's words get a nod. "Very likely. Hopefully these--" He pauses to step back, out of a crab-bot's patrol. "--aren't as rude to visitors." Seeing Corona's interest in it, Dorian asks, "Do you understand how they work?"
Yukihana Masamune     ... Problem solved.
A slow breath and Yukihana glances down at her hand. Though she quickly folds them together in the sleeves of her kimono once again to hide the slight tremble to her fingers. So. Into that main chamber then. The much less aggresive creatures within draw a curious glance. Once Ainsley is determined to be fine, and the creatures in the next chamver are determined non-hostile...
Yukihana begins intently examining the old weapons and equipment with a keen eye.
Ainsley     The crab things make little chittering and squeaking noises when they bump into each other and some of them can be seen arguing over tasks. They're semi-intelligent. They, however, completely ignore the group as if they don't exist, even when stuff is picked up or moved. When a crab thing is picked up itself -- Ainsley does this to one of them, turning it over to look at its underbelly -- it just turtles up and stares around the room with its swiveling crab eyes until it's put down again. Perfectly docile. They have a bunch of iridescent patterns on their shells, swirly and kind of pretty to look at.

"Well. That was an experience," Ainsley says, dripping from the lake water she fell into. "Round up whatever you can. We can make several return trips if we need to. There shouldn't be any more problems like those giant beetles."

The weapons that Yukihana finds are all non-metallic and made for puncturing or slicing. They seem to be blades, mainly, constructed of an ebony material that has a silhouette of white light. They're comparable to minor magical weapons, nothing super powerful, just mildly interesting. The armor is made of similar material, but it doesn't glow. It seems to absorb light.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite holds up one hand to make a wobbling gesture to Dorian. "The general idea, but this style of tech is new t'me." With the other hand she pokes a finger at one of the crabs, but it doesn't respond as it continues to scurry about its tasks. "Always curious to see how diff'rent races manage such protocols without elaborate electronics."

She gets back to her feet when Ainsley says to start their own cleaning out. Smirks a bit. "Shouldn't take too many trips, considerin'," she pulls her Matter Manipulator off her toolbelt, twirling the horseshoe shaped device around two fingers much the same way a gunslinger would their pistol, "Ah kept this as unpacked as possible before hand."

She starts zapped up various things into the devices subspacial inventory.
Dorian Pavus     "I hope not," Dorian replies to Ainsley's comment of not having any similar problems. He also snorts a laugh as Ainsley upturns one of the crab-bots.
