Starbound Flotilla     Amalgam, or as it was previously known, Epsilon Maiia Minoris IV a. This planet, full of dense forests and sparsely covered with small bodies of water, is what the moon claimed by AMATERASU Lunar Mining Facility 01 orbits (which would, of course, be Epsilon Maiia Minoris IV b). As such, it is the logical place to begin one's expansion. The region they've chosen is a small valley, a pleasant little spot that's neighboring the old site of the Glitch exodus that the Flotilla members caused last time.

Noteworthy here is that the trees are multicolored, and bear massive flowers in lieu of proper leaves. Also noteworthy are the sparse bits of Glitch ruins that dot the small valley. The valley itself isn't too steep, and the sides can be easily climbed. The regions around the valley, the area at its base, and the regions below are designated for the construction today. A teleportation beacon, alongside an artificial warpgate, have both been established here; arrival won't be tricky in the least! There's already a small outpost setup, a quick-fabricated little area meant for convenient meeting, with wide openings that make it almost an open-air encampment formed from nanofabricated plastic-like materials. Within are tremendous crates made from wood and metal, containing densely compressed building materials compatible with the Matter Manipulators!

It's a pleasant sort of mid-afternoon time, or thereabouts. Those present will likely be responding to a rather simple sort of generalized invitation and announcement. The Starbound Flotilla intends to begin their colony! Come on down, bring your Matter Manipulator or whatever other building equipment you want, have some plans about things you'd like to build, contribute some materials if you have them, ideas and expertise if you have those, or just an extra pair of hands if you want a share and some pay! As per the norm, the Flotilla has furnished anyone who has helped enough on previous missions with a MATTER MANIPULATOR, either on loan or as pay, which will make this whole ordeal vastly more easy.

The Starbounders themselves are around a holoprojector table in the center of the semi-open-air encampment! That's where a nice holomap and display of relevant statistics and needs can be found.
Flint Hawke Freelance Space Enthusiast and Aggressive Capitalist Flint Hawke is here today. He hasn't pitched in around the Flotilla as much as he'd like, but he has had a pretty decent involvement in the founding, and is generally always listening to news about things. He doesn't have as much a need for the ships as other members, which means he usually works for IOUs, salvaged tech, or money when he comes along.

The Black Sun, battlecruiser that it is, is up in orbit. Flint had himself short-hopped down to the surface to see what the whole meeting is about. If he wound up wanting to build something, he'd have his men shuttle down with supplies and help out that way. For now, he's loitering as he is wont to do in so many circumstances.

Emphasizing his loitering, he's got a labelless can in his hand that appears to be filled with some sort of food product that he's eating with a spoon he holds in the other. Mostly just eating and hanging out for the moment.
Steve     After the fun of purging a valley full of dragons, and a good night's rest, it's time to engage in some recreational activity! Through some channel or another, Steve had gotten word of the immediate work slate for the Starbound Flotilla, and after a brief radio exchange a few days prior, had arrived to offer his talents. He appears through the warp gate, without his more wizardly adornments for today, opting instead to go with his classic cyan blue t-shirt and dark blue jeans. That's not the only business he had, though! So, while he would be right at home just trudging out and exploring the area for its natural materials, and terraforming a construction site, he makes a stop at that base camp first. Besides, it's the neighborly thing to do.

"Hey there," he calls out, in a friendly tone, iron pickaxe already slung across one shoulder! "Just stopping by, before I get to work!" His blue eyes glance out over the area's natural beauty, as he gives a thoughtful scratch of his chin, "Can't say that scenery this colorful is much to my personal taste, but I'm not the one that's going to be livin' in it." After a short bout of small talk, he withdraws something from his inventory, and sets it down. Anyone that had helped him with a certain bit of trouble before would recognize it, but for everyone else; it is a meter tall humanoid, made of what appears to be Erchius that is just barely held together by alchemical processes. It's thankfully without the animation core that it stole before, so it is completely dormant, and benign. Probably. "Figured you all might want to scan this, or whatever you do. Might give you some ideas. This rascal made a real scene at his debut."

He does spare a glance at Flint, but knows better than to separate a man from his loitering. Instead, with that business finished, he activates any communicators for further questions, before he begins to trot out into the valley itself, humming some song that sounds mostly like nonsense. Like somebody trying to mumble a chiptune and doing a poor job of it.
Alexis Maaka     It's been about time the team of...Alexis and Kaz...put down roots. Quite literally in this case, as the planet appears to be forested quite heavily. Weird, how it seems to be mostly one biome instead of several, but sci-fi rarely gets that trope right.

The two are currently busy at work, the somewhat nerdy tech-head donning welding wear while he uses some kind of high-tech laser cutter to make some chunks of steel while Maaka herself is fast at work a rivet gun.

P-TFF, P-TFF! She's currently bolting some long 'boards' of steel plate together to make walls when Kaz is done making them out of chunks produced by the matter manipulator. The both of them are busy beavers, but not busy enough to glance Steve's way, the redheaded cyborg giving him a friendly wave. "Oi! Just visiting or are you here on business?"
Septette Arcubielle
This is a good place, Septette muses as she clicks her steel heels together idly, her legs dangling over the edge of a rock overlooking the valley. She stares at the alien sun unblinking for a few more moments before rousing herself, and leaves her tattered purple cloak behind- no sense in getting her clothes dirty, even if they already look awful. Sept's exposed chassis is skeletal and glinting, made of tan ceramic and black metal; its stark inhumanity is a sharp contrast to her lifelike and amiable face, but she doesn't seem to anticipate that jarring anyone here too badly.

She doesn't seem to have brought a Matter Manipulator; her only supplies are a backpack full of compacted building materials and magitech, and a strange enchanted sapling in a clay pot. That is, unless one counts the plate of light refreshments and candies she carries as 'supplies'. The mechanical lady sets it down next to the holographic display and pops a candied nut into her mouth before glancing at the map of the area, tapping her chin in thought with a distinct metallic clink. "There," she says, pointing at an unclaimed and seemingly unremarkable area near one end of the valley. "That seems like the best spot for my designs, if nobody else has objections."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had returned from her holiday vacation from Flotilla business and has hooked back up with the Flotilla, she was happy this plan was going forward as it was a heck of an chance to do something she never thought she'd live to do back home. Be part of an space colonization. She looked about the meeting area and then back to the holoprojector and she's got her Matter Manipulator in hand, she's also got four of the little flying cameras she makes use of, she was munching on something which seemed to be in some sort paper wrap happily enough as she gives the holoprojector another look over.

"Humm so this is a pretty good site, we don't have to worry about the water, air or even biology not being habitable for us, which is a very good thing."

T Kotone's own ship is in orbit, left under SAIL's care as even Slipbolt was here excited to get in on the colony effort as well.

"Giddy: When do we get to work, I think some of my old companions would be happy to join once they find out about this effort!"

the Glitches faceplate is pretty much giving a ^_^ face as she speaks.

"I agree though this is a big chance for someone like me. Most land's all used up or claimed already back home? Here it's wide open more or less."

She notices Glint and seems pleased to see him. Whatever his adventures outside of the Flotilla? He's been pretty good to his allies there.

"Captain Hawke, good to see you, and Hey Steve."

She sends her drones out to scout and help with the effort hooking them into the local network.

<<Going to get to work too humm Alexis? This should be fun and with all these people who are getting involved? This is going to be quite to see.>>

"No issue here from me Septette."
Nozomi Houken     Nozomi Houken has traditionally never been the most outgoing of people, to say the least. But there are those who've made efforts to reach out to her and keep an eye on her, and she's slowly been pulled far enough out of her shell that recently she's begun to respond in turn, of her own accord. Like, say, coming out to visit when the Flotilla sends a general 'hey come see our new colony' message.

Admittedly, the schoolgirl had not expected it to be so 'work in progress'. Not being very familiar with their tech just yet, she was expecting some sort of... well, she's not sure. Basic small city? Not 'a landing pad and a couple of slapdash rooftops'. Still, it's interesting to see. But not interesting enough to completely banish the natural shyness that still clings to Nozomi; as soon as they're in the area, she gives a little nudge to Taiga with her foot, and the mechatiger immediately begins heading straight towards the Flotilla folks themselves. Hey, she's gotta ask how they liked their gifts, right? Perfect excuse.
Staren     Staren lives on his spaceship now. He doesn't need a new home! But, he'll certainly contribute how he can to the base, in return for getting to use it himself if he ever needs to. He strides out of the warpgate with some flying drones, which head out to scout the area. He doesn't really need much else -- he has a matter manipulator and a magic bag that's bigger on the inside than the outside.

He heads to the meeting area. "Aside from making sure we have some basic equipment that Rory's probably already covering, I don't have a lot of ideas... but I've never been at a base-planning like this before, so I'm curious what goes into it anyway. What's been planned so far, Core Fleet?" He gives Septette a curious look. "And what /are/ your designs, if I may ask?"
Starbound Flotilla     "Heya there, Steve. Yeah, the kinda rainbow kiddy flower thing really doesn't jive with the murderous wildlife, huh? Don't worry, cutting down the trees is our job." George calls out to Steve from the table at the near-open encampment. He leaves the Erchius matters to...

"Impressed. Remarkable craftsmanship, even without the missing components. Thank you, Steve, I will certainly examine it." Seft is as polite and cheery as ever, the perfect image of nobility with her face flickering to a soft ^_^. As for the business of terraforming and leveling, there is a great deal of uneven earth in need of evening, various trees in need of felling, and a small variety of ancient, aged watchtowers that could be dealt with, depending on what Steve would like to focus on!
Rory White     "Finally, a base that isn't stuck in vacuum!" Rory White was one of the first to arrive. Her and an entourage of robots. What's strange is that there's an unknown entity among the group of drones. Yes, Rory's new Flexbot Morph - a humanoid robot with her face rendered in a MOSTLY human-like fashion - is among the things to emerge. But so is a blonde-haired young woman with a similar face that shares an almost familial connection with the Flexbot's. This one's different.

This one's BREATHING. And is quick to skitter over to lean against one of the existing base walls.

One of Rory's Saucers flies up into the air quickly to survey the works and a building spot. She has Plans(TM) but so do other people, and so her first order of business?

Creating a MAP and setting up a big HOLOPROJECTOR that shows the entire region and what everyone's up to. One of her drones hauls in the projector and hooks it up to a large NUCLEAR BATTERY for now, creating a VAN-SIZED DISPLAY in the air of what ground people have to work with!

"Alright, let's see. Concerns... power, food and water, recycling, living... um..."

Her nose wrinkles and twitches oddly and the blonde - whose voice doesn't sound like Rory's exactly, even if the tone matches exactly - starts making a panicked expression. "Wha-... whaha-what's----"

And she promptly enters a sneezing fit! Arms flailing! E-... ewwwwwww.
Staren     Staren turns to look over the golem, but then: Rory. He connects his drones to her tacnet, and smiles as he sees what she's brought. "Need any help?"

    And then she sneezes.

Staren stares for a moment, and then asks, completely confused,

    "...Why are you alive?"

    Phrasing, Staren, phrasing.
Starbound Flotilla     "No objections, Arcubielle. Want to know what you're building, though." Albert says. He then grunts, as if expecting some bit of cryptic nature or indirection to whatever answer he'll get. "Only need to know what roles it will fill." As if on cue, the holoprojection table starts displaying the various needs of the colony. Power, manufacturing, residence, sustenance, all that good stuff. Looks like they're trying to keep a balanced colony that won't need too much importing! He's already designating the area at that end of the valley, though, on the map.
Starbound Flotilla     Biteblade is already eating the candies. Got a bit of a sweet tooth. Pavo too, weirdly, that's kind of out of character for her!
Alexis Maaka     Kaz meanwhile seems to stare, mouth agape behind his welding mask as he looks over at Steve. "Whoa...and I thought the mercs back home were swole." He mutters mid-saw. It must be the intense lifestyle Steve's lived that made him such a grizzled, macho looking dude with a killer survival instinct. Or that's what Kaz expects before Alexis straight up chats with him while she works. "You know this guy?" He asks, before chopping off another length of steel for her.

Alexis shrugs, "A little bit. We've been on the same jobs once or twice, and I visited his place to see what he was about. Some kind of building wiz or whatever." She says.

Right now the two are basing their home in a wooded area, comfortably nestled amid the trees. They're also considering some wooded structures to help with obscuring the place if unwanted visitors come calling. Maybe some kind of techno cabin will be in the works for these two, with a little farm for provisions and stuff.
Steve     "Little bit of both," he calls out in response to Alexis, while meandering by, glancing around and scoping out a spot where he won't be troubling anyone else. "I mean, I don't plan to settle here personally, but I wouldn't let you guys have all the fun. Just going to focus on something practical." It's not completely altruistic, however; there's still a lot to learn on this strange world. Pausing a bit further down into the valley, he withdraws a hexagonal, golden trinket and begins to peer through its glass viewer. He scans the soil, the trees, and any native wildlife he might encounter (hopefully friendly). Besides the strangely colorful foliage, he's not expecting to encounter anything reality-bending. Trees probably containing 'Arbor', shocking.

"Heya," he responds to Kotone, a bit belatedly, over communication channels. "Kotone, was it? Sorry that I just blew by, was just eager to get started!" Similarly, George and Seft also receive responses, in turn, "Heh, wouldn't be the strangest place I've ever built at. And thanks! The thing only exploded a few times while figuring it out. Still not quite ready for primetime, though. We can discuss particulars over dinner later."

With some of the discussions out of the way, he finally settles on a work site that he's satisfied with. He doesn't set right in with the pickaxe -- that'd be a waste of iron. Instead, while others might opt for matter manipulators and arc welders, his methods are a bit stranger, relative to local custom. He walks up to a sturdy looking tree and begins to assault it with his fists. This might seem a foolish thing to do, until a log of it is extracted through brute force, and then the rest of the tree soon follows. He appears to then split one of the log segments with his bare hands, which is probably less surprising after he just took down the tree, and splices together a crude but functional box with it, that he finally, triumphantly, deploys. "Hmm, now I can really get to work." That might explain a lot for Kaz.
Septette Arcubielle      A playful smile crosses Septette's face at Staren's question, and she decides to string him along for just a little while. "I'm going to plant a tree," she replies opaquely. "The drainage and sunlight in that area makes it ideal for such a thing, and it isn't overcrowded either." Then, to Albert: "Oh, mostly decorative, is all! Aren't the leaves gorgeous? ... It'll also supply magical power to anything in the vicinity that draws on it, can serve as a powerful computational platform, and will provide some lovely shade once it's fully grown."

She glances over at the two Captains partaking in the snacks and giggles softly. "Leave some for the others, okay? Looking at you, Bitey; I can bring some roast boar from Armoroad if you're that hungry." There's something for everyone in the dish- or, at least, there was when she set it down- but most of the candies feature crystallized syrup, sparing amounts of sea salt, and nuts that look subtly different from anything one would find on Earth.
Souji Murasame Souji is present.

He does not need to make any kind of statement, his presence is enough. He is not waving around a Matter Manipulatoe like some others might be. Either his is still hidden on his person or he's not planning on doing the actual building.

He moves through the assembled, giving nods of recognition to many of those present as he approaches the central planning hub and the core Flotilla. "Greetings." He says to the group. "Where do we stand on the planning stages?" He asks, looking about. "I can arrange to have some materials brought in to assist with construction once we are sure what we will need. The basics will be arriving shortly, which should resuce the amount of local forage needed."
Flint Hawke Flint, still with his can of food in hands, returns the greeting to Kotone with a bright smile, "Ah, hello, lass. How have you been faring since last we met? As radiant as ever, I see. I trust you're takin' good care of yourself." He chipperly replies before heading out to follow people as they get to work.

Steve is the one that Flint follows, as a random act of fate would decide, tilting his head as the man punches a tree until it's a log via some crazy, construction-worker Kung Fu, "Ah, an interesting ability. I had heard men used to train in temples for decades for a tenth of the efficiency with which you punched that tree into a log." He teases, rocking on his feet a bit.

He looks around the area a bit and muses, "Not much of a builder or a planner myself, but it seems no settlement would be complete without a refreshments establishment of some sort. Trade stories, rumors, find work." He mulls the idea over before looking to Steve.

"So what will you be building again, then?"
Starbound Flotilla     When it comes to sites of interest, there's not too much showing up on the drones, but there's a few that pop up. There's the nearby Hivemind Glitch castle in progress, some assorted ruins that dot the area in and around the valley, a Floran tribal encampment some distance away, and nothing else... on the surface, anyway. There could be all sorts of things underground.
Rory White     Flexbot-Rory happened to be trailing Steve! She's a bluenette gynoid with a very human-like face. Steve may or may not recognize the face and voice.

Even though the 'prime' Rory Ego is currently... distracted... this part of her seems to be doing pretty well!

"How... how did you do that, sir? First the extracting perfect cubes from dirt... now... with your bare hands... WHAT did you do?" There's no MEASURING how stupefied this stunt has made her.

Flexbot-Rory does, however, give Flint Hawke a somewhat courteous deep nod, almost a bow. "Good afternoon, Mr. Hawke!"
Starbound Flotilla     "Ahoy lass! How ye be sailin', matey? Come get a snack!" Pavo is the one who calls out to Nozomi, oddly. It's odd mostly because isn't she the designated Bad One? Hm. Well, anyway, she's called over to a seat, and her gestures seem pretty genuinely friendly! "Good seein' ye and ol' Ironsides again!" One guesses that's probably Taiga. "Anything ye been wantin' from the space age, lass? Asides too much danger for yer lil' neck, yarharharhar! Ahhh, ye been a good sport and a brave girl, sailin' with us. What're ye wantin' back? Could get someplace for yer cat to rest their head with ya, maybe a spare place to get repairs done?"
Steve     If there's any trace of damage to Steve's being from just having felled a tree with his bare hands, it isn't immediately visible. Definitely a kung fu master, at least when it comes to trees. "I don't understand half of what ya just said," he admits to Flint, but after a beat, he grins, "But it sounds complimentary, so I'll take it!" Being without his handy dictionary to flip through on multiversal terms, he'll just have to wing it. He stoops over the work bench, now, further splintering the boards into sticks, as he begins fabricating finer tools for further work. Using the native wood in this manner is the most efficient way, so his instincts say.

Seems he has even more company, too. This time it's somebody that's more familiar to himself. He looks nearly as confused at Rory for a moment, in fact, though he's had this kind of question often enough that it's becoming a bit less odd. "I don't really know," he gives a light shrug of his shoulders, stopping his work for just that moment. "I guess you could say it'd be the same as breathing. Even before I started practicing the Dark Arts, this was something I could do. People that come to Flat Earth seem to be able to do it, too." Best he can figure, in the end, is that it's just something to do with local physics. That in itself isn't unusual in the multiverse at large.

Back to Hawke, though, as he puts the finishing touches on some crude but functional wooden shovels and axes (what), he replies after standing back upright, "I didn't really have anything in mind. I mean, this isn't my show. Was just going to level some building sites for the Flotilla to use. That sounds like a right proper use to me, though, so if you want to help." He offers over a set each of an axe and shovel, to Rory and Flint, "Be my guest!" With that, he turns to begin his own digging, going back to humming.
Alexis Maaka     Steve does some /ridiculous/ tree punching, enough for the already surprised Kaz to /stare/ with even more shock as Steve reduces entire trunks into small logs and makes them form a box of some sort. "...what the /fuck./"

"Leave it, shit's weird out here sometimes." Alexis says, before she stops to greet Souji. "Evening, sir. We're just in the middle of constructing a compound for domestic and operational purposes, never hurts to have a safehouse around after all." She says, approaching the Mursame Heir and shaking hands. "We think we know what we want to work with, but we're not gonna say no to materials if you're offering." The assassin may be a merc by nature, but Alexis practically /sings/ corporate sweet-talk when she needs to, it's a handy trait to have when you're working with big shots like SOuji, or crime lords with an eye for expansion.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "It totally understand, Steve. I get the same way when working on projects, steve. I have been doing quite well Captain Hawke, things could have been a lot worse for me. If not for backup from the Flotilla? It would have ended badly."

She watches the Captain depart and takes notice of Rory dealing with things. She grins a little bit at her long time friend.

"It's just how it goes for him Rory, and I forgot your not used to a sense of smell are you?"

She grins a little bit at her long time friend. She's also checking over what the drones do find note of a Floran Camp that's cause for concern she admits, but the ruins also get her attention and she flags everything of note to feed back into the colony's database.

"Got some interesting finds and well we'll have to watch though like I said on the main comm."
Nozomi Houken     It is rather unexpected to have Pavo calling out to Nozomi, yes. For a second or two, she hesitates, as if not quite sure how (or if) she should respond. But... well, she's decided the whole pack is good candy, so to speak. So if she's being greeted warmly, she might as well return the favor. "Aah, I'm doing alright. It's... been a little busy, back home with Christmas and New Year's." Taiga rumbles with faint amusement. "No fewer than eight calls regarding Yuki-onna. Four were regarding the same entity. She was keeping a park cold to allow local youth to skate for free. Only one call necessitated aggressive intervention." Nozomi nods her head faintly. "Oh, ah... I hope you all liked your presents. I-I'm... I'm not good at many things, but... I'm proud of my models."

The robocat saunters right up, and after a second or two, Nozomi decides it's safe to slide off for now. "Ah... well, I don't know if..." Taiga seats himself at her feet, but speaks up regardless. "My systems are specialized to the point that repairs can only be done in my homeworld. However, I believe that a small dwelling for Nozomi to spend the night if she's here for extended periods of time wouldn't go amiss. Though, speaking of which, if I recall correctly, Nozomi is eligible through our efforts for a starship, if you have any to spare?" He's a robot. Of course he recalls correctly.

At this, Nozomi blinks, and looks up, eyes wide. "Eh?" Her... her own ship?
Starbound Flotilla     "Ah. Mr. Wiremu." Moonfin gives a quick bow-like nod to Staren. "We have several immediate needs." He gestures to the holotable. "This is an area meant to neighbor our local mining operations. Thus, the purposes it serves and the plans we seek are simple. Residential areas for additional colonists, fod production, water purification, materials recycling, materials refining, construction and manufacturing... You understand, I believe." He gestures to the table where it becomes clear that the valley is being mapped out with the additions still ongoing for it.
Rory White     Human-Rory continues flailing her arms and leaning against the wall for stability. SNEEZING IS A VERY NEW EXPERIENCE FOR HER. And it shows. Because she remains in a state of frozen panic for about ten seconds, even after Staren asks. Finally she rapidly shakes her head and wipes with her sleeve. Eww. Well, most practical answer at the moment?

"K-k-koo... ... Kotone had me visit her home for Christmas and insisted I come in a Biomorph!" Her blame-filled tone's a pretty strong indicator of how much she's liked THAT aspect of it. "Haven't had a chance to resleeve since... and I'm TRYING to adapt..." But, for obvious reasons, she's clearly not confident like this. The AGI-in-flesh folds her hands, giving Staren a rather apologetic look!

Over yonder, FLEXBOT-Rory is much more confident in herself. She doesn't need to worry about sneezing! But she does need to worry about ridiculous claims like the one Steve makes. "You... said something like that last time. Yet another oddity of the Multiverse. And I'm not, Kotone!" The weird thing is her 'human' form is only about twenty seconds of walking away...
Starbound Flotilla     "Heeheeheehee!" Biteblade is giggling a great deal at Rory there. "White ship friend have sssneeze for first time? Isss like reboot your breathing!" She giggles even more for a moment. "Planet, have many flower-treesss. You want, cut down? Dumb fish have plan for cut down treesss, not hurt ecosyssstem." She's... Yep, yeah, she's already trying to hug Rory again, that didn't take long.
Staren     Staren nods to Moonfin. And then... Rorysneeze.

Staren stares at her in increasing concern until she explains. He holds his hands to his mouth. "Oh gosh. I'm so sorry." He starts to approach with arms out. "Um... Would a hug be comforting, or just weird?" Once the hug is accepted or rejected, though, Staren offers, "Look, it takes ten minutes, right? I can take you up to my ship and do it. I'll lend you the spare synth." He feels bad, just seeing her so clearly uncomfortable.
Flint Hawke Flint holds the brim of his fancy had and tips it to Flexbot-Rory, "Greetings, Miss White. How has the... Science, right? How has the science been treating you. Must say, you look different than normal." He replies in a relaxed tone before nodding to Kotone in response to her story.

Flint smiles at Steve as he offers him an axe and a shovel, "Ah. I'm a ship's Captain, good at fighting, not so good at farming. 's why I'm not a farmer," He jests, though he seems to pause for a moment after saying that. Then he shakes his head and looks back towards Steve, "Just gonna do work and let inspiration strike you, huh?"

There's a pause and then, "Wait what now? The Dark Arts? Are you a practitioner of those too? Got a little lass on my ship that got a whole book about it."
Corona Arclite If you're going to do a job, don't be half-assed about it.

This is why a mighty mechanical roar comes from a cluster of trees, the screech of moving blades tearing into wood, and then several of the trees topple over to show Corona standing there with that sort of 'mad inventor' look on her face as she's holding up an oversized steam-powered chainsaw-like contraption. Instead of trying to compact a steam generator into the device itself though, it's piped through a couple of hoses connected to the steam driven automatron following her along. The machine is doing its own part, grabbing the felled trees with it's multiple clockwork arms and stacking them off to the side.

"Moonfin can do whatever he well wants with em, but that don't stop from needin' to get 'em outta the way."
Starbound Flotilla     Techno cabin seems to be the order of the day for Maaka, and it does work. While there's abundant wood for construction, so too is there a large amount of metals and assorted synthesized polymers that can make their home a wonderful combination of cozy and techy, depending on their tastes.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "Hey you did have fun, right and I'm glad you got a chance to meet my family. Sides Miho was happy to see you when she dropped in you know."

Kotone seems to be in very good spirits for the most part.

Oddly Kotone has got used to Biteblade and she never thought she would be she has she watches as the floran is about to give meat Rory a hug and she also moves in to give meat Rory a hug if she'll be let.

"Come on we got building to do, and I got idea!"

She's grinning gleefully at this too, she's rubbing her hands together like some sort of master mind here.

"However first I'll need to get a proper machine shop, and I'll need Rory, Staren and Corona's help..."
Steve     "Somethin' wrong," Steve wonders to Rory? But he doesn't dwell on it, because based on what he overhears, it's way over his head, anyway. That's what prompts a light scratching at his hairline, while he takes a momentary break from his digging, to lean against his shovel. "Maybe I'll have a better explanation for it, someday. I get the feeling that my study of thaumaturgy is going to give me a lot of answers, maybe even to questions I didn't know I had." Of course, some of those answers might be ones he doesn't like, but that's kind of the nature of the beast, isn't it?

He gets back to digging, with that: It's even more efficient than using his hands! If the goal was a flat surface, then the fact that the soil he's extracting is in that cubic form factor certainly makes it ideal. Every so often, when he comes to a tree, a few swings of the wooden axe brings it down. He seems to have no great respect for nature. It refills his energy so much that he fills his chest with the alien atmosphere, "Hah, now this is the life. A fresh site, the smell of dirt and cut wood. I haven't really had this experience since the Ritual of Unification."

Flint also gets him thinking, though. At first, just small talk sort of things, that he doesn't have to break his rhythm to address, "Sometimes it's best to not go into something with a plan. See what turns out of it, you know? I plan and micromanage a lot, but just for today, I'm working for somebody else." The latter bit, continuing somewhat with thoughts he'd shared with Rory, does cause him to slow down, in that thoughtful way. The kind where it's clear that some of the energy has been diverted to the grinding of mental machinery, "A whole book on Dark Arts?" He gives a somewhat meaningful look to Flint, "This girl wouldn't happen to share glances of that book, would she?" He's not planning something TOO evil, but damned if his curiosity meter isn't nearly full.

Perhaps as a means to deflect what might have sounded a bit ominous, whether he's conscious of it or not, he soon breaks the self-inflicted tension with an easy-going grin, "Captain, eh? I've done a bit of sailing, myself, in my day. My boats ain't as impressive as what the Flotilla has, though." Understatement.
Rory White     FLEXBOT:
"Ah? Very well! Sometimes I wonder if half of the strange things I encounter will ever be fully explained though. ... Like Steve's display here." Is her answer to Flint Hawke. "So you're making a... restaurant? Bar? Tavern? .... And to answer your question, this is my latest body design! It's called a Flexbot! The Synth you saw earlier is in storage... this new body's much more useful! Still a few bugs to work out, though. I'm actually over there." The Flexbot gestures off in the distance, where...

    HUMAN:
The blonde, Menton Rory gets HUGGED BY AN AMBLING PLANT PERSON! WAGH! But she returns the hug almost without thinking. Just does sort of yelp in surprise though! "Th-that was awful. I couldn't stop it! It's.. it's because of the trees?" This does not compute. But Rolan quickly alerts her about allergies. "...Ohhh. Allergies?" Well that's an answer for Staren. He's a bit too slow. She got glomped by Biteblade and Kotone!

Which just leaves her a little frazzled and looking around embarassedly. Blushing. What a very odd experience! Just that alone seems to have her a little off-balance! But she shakes her head Staren's way. "That's alright. Er... I did promise I'd try this for a while! ... Yes. Machine shop sounds about right. I was planning on working on power and recycling. A colony that produces zero material waste would be quite a thing, wouldn't it? Completely eco-friendly!"
Souji Murasame "I understand that." Souji replies to Alexis as she approaches. "I have already authorized support and funding for the expansion from AMATERASU. In creasing the Flotilla's presence on Amalgam is a net positive and will further accelerate profitability and influence in this sector. Our mutual association with the Flotilla has been exceptionally beneficial." He states this like it is self-evident, of course.

He turns back to the map hub and looks over the plans so far, and nods. "Is there anything you will need to accelerate the work in particular?" He asks.
Starbound Flotilla     Albert looks like he's about to be grumpy about things, maybe her little bit of silliness. And then, very suddenly, he's not! He grunts affirmatively, but not grumpily. "Understood. I'll estimate power and service output and care intake. We'll want a corresponding system in place for that."
"Ahhhh, natural systems. A plant-based nature may be a bit closer to various Floran designs than I would like, but I will appreciate the intent of harmony with nature." Moonfin says, nodding approvingly. Looks like the mapped out segment is set, she can get right to planting!
Alexis Maaka     "Awesome. Makes that share I just bought for the company a lot better an idea in hindsight." Alexis says, before she glances back at the still-gawking Kaz. "HEY, quit goldbricking! I ain't paying by the hour here y'know!"

"You don't even pay me that much anyways!" "The hell I don't, what I make goes into both our wallets!" "...oh." Kaz quickly goes back to work, hurriedly beginning to size up chunks of material as he drags over some wood to work with, using a hovercart acquired someplace to bring the materials to him. Obviously a man of his physique and a ramen-soda diet won't do much to move this sort of material on his own, but it's good to have stuff like this around for moving it. A Power-Loader might not be a bad investment...something he does bring up in a direct neural linked message to Alexis.

Alexis then turns to Souji, "Sorry about that, new kid's a bit new to all this stuff." She says, before she notes the message. "I don't suppose your company doesn't have any sort of power loading equipment by chance? It'd make moving materials about a lot faster when we have a forklift or something on hand."
Starbound Flotilla     Moonfin looks like he's going to be the one who speaks with Souji, until abruptly George seems to intercept the conversation. "Heya bossman. We've got most of the plans, we're adjusting 'em on the fly for what people wanna stick where. Personal housing, projects, that kinda stuff. Plan is, we're gonna get a manufacturing base set up neighboring the mines we have over on the old Glitch exile turf, right? From there we can get to makin' all kindsa shit I have no idea about, it'll be great! Materials we'd be needing, probably heavy-duty refining stuff, manufacturing stuff, that sorta thing. Less raw, more gear, you dig?" George remains, as ever, seeming like he doesn't really know what's going on, but he sure does dispense the useful and relevant info that way.
Staren     Staren shrugs. "Alright. Um... I hope you... enjoy it? Or at least find it interesting." Staren reaches into his bag and pulls out a stick of gum. "Here, enjoy your sense of taste while you got it. This is just for chewing, don't swallow." Staren then drops a DCM and a healing vat out of his matter manipulator, by the other supplies Rory dropped off. "I'm gonna go talk with, um, magic pickaxe guy about defenses." Staren manifests his wings and flies off.

Staren lands by Steve. Who is... punching trees for wood. That gives Staren pause, but it seems legit. "So, you're a golemancer? Um... what kinds are...? I guess I'm wondering, are you planning to make any for defending the colony? Should there turn out to be hostile fauna. Or flora. Or florans."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa lets go of Rory after a moment seemingly having had her fun for the moment. She seem to be in a good mood still though.

"With what you bring to the table we should be able to reclaim most waste products relly which should be pretty nice and yes it would Rory, I'm hoping we keep the power clean on this as well the less likely we cause an issue for the local enviorment to want to smack us somehow? The better."

She also opens up a general channel siting the area for her machine ship which is near a hill where there's a small bit of creek running by she seems to have a plan for that given what she picked.
Starbound Flotilla     "Oh, aye, lass! Ye kiddin'? Ye got some steady hands, matey, ye better be goin' into a good engineering field if ye got things like that! Yarharharhar!" Then she looks down at Taiga, her beak curling into a grin. "Aye, ye remember right there, Ironsides. The lass earned her keep on the moon." There's a moment where, given Pavo's history of intense greed, it might seem like she's planning on haggling down the payment, but then after that moment, there's not an ounce of hesitation. "Don't ye stick any worry in that head. SAIL will give ye all the instructions ye need and care for the boat. Just take it, not a bit of pressure! Better than rustin' in a hangar in one of our caches." She peers at Nozomi, seeming to assess her for what style of craft would fit her best...
Starbound Flotilla     There's a firm, stern sort of nod to Rory White. "Harmony with nature is crucial; we of the Hylotl have learned to understand and sense the needs and boundaries of nature, and to advance as a society without harm to the environment. There are better ways than what we are doing now, but these will suffice in their familiarity. I can ensure whatever you create will allow us to have a null impact on the environment; one hopes this will work well in tandem with the mechanisms that Ms. Arcubielle has chosen to deploy."
Starbound Flotilla     "Optimistic. Ah, Kotone. We have enough materials that we may be able to get a proper foundry running eventually. I will be happy to help you establish your mechanical facilities." Seft says, with her eyes flickering to a hopeful '_'! It looks like the Glitch is also here to get started on that!
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite sets down the steam-saw and her automatron retracts it back into it's cubical chassis. With plenty of trees cleared out of the way for now she leaves the machine to carry them off to wherever they can be stored until others want to use the material, and ambles over to see what Kotone is up to. "You've already got a machine shop in the works, mebbe Ah oughta just move in with you," she jokes, giving her friend a easy pat on the shoulder.

Then Seth mentions foundries and her own expression brightens. "Iffen we be needin' gear or stuff fer forgin' and processin' materials Seth, reckon Ah can do y'all some wonders with that."
Souji Murasame Alexis gets another nod. "Of course." He says. "I will have the appropriate machines brought shortly."

George, meanwhile, asks about heavy industrial machinery. Souji holds up a disc and hands it over. "You should be able to make use of this in your planning. This will detail the power and utility needs of our standard refinery and industrial equipment. The main question is going to be one of power, but I believe between those present it is more than possible to swap out local power systems for something that does not require a constant flow of Magic Particles... Or perhaps Miss Septette will resolve the issue with her planting. It works either way. The information should allow you to incorporate it into your planning phase smoothly."
Nozomi Houken     Right now, Nozomi is glowing under the twin points of 'you are very good at your choice in hobby' and, just a smidge more importantly, 'you get your own spaceship'. Taiga seems... well, as pleased as a robot can seem. It's in the twitch of the tail. Somehow it seems smug. Nozomi is already a bit floored by the possibilities of a starship of her very own, enough so that she has forgotten the matter at hand. "Nozomi. The starship is not here." That simple verbal prod from the TIGER at her feet, jolts Nozomi back to the present. "O-oh, ah... right... well, ah... alright, I... I guess I should start with making myself a home. I-it doesn't need much... do I need anything, other than that matter... thing?"
Steve     "Hmmm," comes a thoughtful exhale from Steve, as he once again pauses to lean on the now-worn shovel. Wood as a tool material just isn't that durable, you know. He glances to Staren, and remembers that voice well enough, but doesn't remark on that. Instead, there are more key questions! "I was workin' under the impression that the Flotilla folks probably have their own systems for that. I don't know how much they'd appreciate my golems running around the place." He then glances out at a site he'll hit for his operations, next, and rakes his fingers lightly against his cheek ponderously, "BUT, if they're so inclined to needing helpers or guardians of that kind, I'd be more than willing to work something mutually agreeable out." Minions that work tirelessly and with little energy input, except ambient magic, that's super eco-friendly, right? Nevermind the process to create them.

Speaking of that work site, he seems to have made it completely smooth; a rectanglular area partially cut into the valley side, and easily large enough for a warehouse. It isn't quite complete yet, though. What would it be without a proper foundation, after all? With some good ol' Flat Earth cobblestone, that he keeps handy for emergency use and building, he begins placing cubic meters of it at a time, backfilling a layer on top of the dirt itself. This goes much faster than the excavation did, at least. After his feats with the trees and dirt, this is probably less surprising, but placing literal tons of stone like legos is yet another physical errata to document. "Hmm, yeah, that'll do," he grins with satisfaction, placing the last corner, and giving it a sound stomp of his boot. With that, whether or not Staren, Flint and/or one of Rory's selves follow along to help or just out of curiosity, he continues on to another site, seeming intent on repeating the process.
Flint Hawke To Steve, Flint responds first, "Captain, aye. Not a seaship, though. Space ship," he swipes a hand at the sky above, "Cap'n of the Black Sun, Flint Hawke, at your service." He taps the brim of the hat and half-bows to Steve.

"Dunno if she'd share peeks of the book. Seems to be a rather opinionated book with some fierce guards. Affable sort of girl, though. Member of my crew by the name of..." He seems to struggle over the japanese name, "Ya-ga-mi Ha-ya-te," He enunciates specifically, furrowing his brow, "Nice girl. You'd like her. She'd probably like you."

And then towards Rory, "Ah! I thought it looked a bit more feminine! Less robot-y, but I recognized the voice for sure," He smiles chipperly, rocking on his feet a bit as considers it, "So what have you been working on?"
Steve "The name's Steve," the miner offers to Flint, in kind. No particular titles or even a family name attached. Seems like he keeps it simple, for the time being. "I understand, though," he continues, while pacing and scouting a bit, scratching his nails at his beard stubble, "When you mentioned a book, it reminded me of my own thauminomicon. I'd like to meet her, though, regardless. Us dark wizard types have to network." A light laugh is given after, though it doesn't seem like he meant that as a joke. "Of course, nice making your acquaintance, too. If you're ever in the neighborhood of Flat Earth, feel free to drop by! I'll have Izumi bake some porkchops."
Staren     Staren... sort of stares at Steve's work as they talk. It's like the man's hands are matter manipulators or something! "...I, uh... I was actually planning to use my own golems if needed, but if you had the same idea I figured we should coordinate. If you're only helping for pay, though, I guess better to use our own. Um..."

    "How are you... doing that?"
Rory White     HUMAN:
"Right now, the less sensory input the better." Rory states, but pockets the stick of gum, still in its wrapper. She'll puzzle that one out later. Moonfin's explanations have her interest piqued though! "Hopefully! ... Who knows what a magical tree can do? Is that like... the World Tree, Yggdrasil, of Norse mythology...?" The latter's spoken in wonder to nobody in particular. "Ah... the recycling will be based on fabrication technology. Deconstruction nanites can break everything down into basic elements and molecules and recycle them into building materials for the manufacturing, fertilizer, anything and everything. So long as we balance production rates with recycling capacity and power generation we should be in the clear. Fusion power is clean, BUT... it's also expensive and a little dangerous. I'll have to make sure the reactor is heavily shielded. Maybe underground. And there's the issue of fuel. Helium-3 should be plentiful in the Multiverse though! And there's other Fusion fuels. Solar power is great but won't be able to run heavy machinery. As for refining... while nanotechnology is great for that on small scales, deconstruction nanites aren't suited for it on large scales. There's open source designs for smelting furnaces but I don't know at ALL what a good way to lay out such facilities would be! So I'm going to focus on power and waste for now."

    FLEXBOT:
Rory's still STARING at Steve's incredibly odd methods. It goes without saying that she's recording this. But Flint Hawke has her blinking a few times. "More feminine? ... That... that's surprising. I thought the Flexbot seemed less feminine!" She's not sure... is this a good thing, or a bad thing? It's a confusing thing that's for sure! The AGI's obviously puzzling this one over as she surveys around. "... Oh. you meant the previous body. Yes. Still working on making this one appear a little more human-like! Flexbot morphology has limits. It's really a lot of Micro-machines linked up and changing their arrangements. So..." Rory shrugs out of the white robes, slipping them off. The body underneath is featurelessly nude in proper robot fashion. The flexbot body, though sleek and indeed obviously feminine, has stylized, large circuit patterns running all across it - all glowing blue from within. The body itself is a pearly white color and stylized to LOOK like a person wearing skintight body armor, with a few sections featuring dips and angles with shades of blue and green to seem more... robot-y is the best term, yes!

With the robes held simply in one hand, Rory reaches out with the other. Said arm just COMES APART at the seams, reshaping as what appears to be a thousand cube'ish jigsaw pieces flow over each other and lock into new shapes over about 20 seconds... untilt he entire ARM has taken the form of what appears like a sleek MATTER MANIPULATOR.

"Power generation for here! And waste recycling. Nanites can turn all the waste into usable materials without any eco impact! And fusion power is perfectly clean, if challenging to run!"

And the Matter Manipulator's beam sweeps over the area, rapidly stripping up ground and forming a sort of tunnel downwards. Sloped, at least, not straight. "Best to put the dangerous things underground, just in case!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks to Seft and nods to her glitch friend. "Good then I shouldn't be much of a problem and that would be awesome. So welcome aboard the machine shop project I take it you got most of what you need in your Manipulator?" She looks hopefully back at her long time Glitch friend.
Starbound Flotilla     "Eager. Ah, a good forge will help as well. Smelting facilities are an important necessity here. Please, if you have anything to offer, we would be quite appreciative, and promise to take good care of it." Seft's voice remains as monotonous as ever, but her robotic body language is quite responsive to Corona's suggestion! "Optimistic. If you have high quality materials processing apparatuses ready, we can get a smelting setup prepared quite quickly, with our own materials that we already have. It would be best to place it just neighboring, I believe."
Steve     Did he mention he was getting used to this question? He slows in his steps to give a shrug to Staren much like the one he gave Rory earlier. "Just comes naturally. Guess it's a talent?" To him, it was strange to see people building things more...organically, and with tools like hammers and screwdrivers. "As long as I can remember, I've been able to do it. Pretty handy for this kind of work." The matter manipulators the Flotilla use, while he doesn't need them, are actually kind of comforting. It's pleasant and reassuring to see other people be able to wield similar abilities.

Speaking of, he also hesitates to glance back and do a bit of his own staring at Rory's flexbot form. No, it's not the disrobing that is the cause, but that reshaping. "Hah, see," he breaks the stare, with another disarming guffaw. "Everybody's got their own tricks. That's just the multiverse for you." Giving a shake of his head, though, he grins back to Staren, replacing the shovel that looks nearly about to snap in two with a fresh one, which he rests against his shoulder, "Oh, I'm not getting paid. Not directly anyway. I'm more interested in what the Flotilla can offer a guy like me. Access to new materials, places to extract said materials. You just raised a good point, is all. If you'd like to cooperate on it, there's no harm in it." Golemancy is just one sphere of what he does in thaumaturgy, but it is one he has wholeheartedly embraced.
Alexis Maaka     "Cool. We'll appreciate whatever help you can supply. I'm thinking we can get together something to start out with, make some additions here and there as we go." Alexis nods, folding her arms. "A little power station may not be a bad idea either, given my mods and the tech I use day to day. Maybe a relay to link to Multiversal net channels while we're at it." She muses, rubbing her chin.

"What do you think, George? Anything else? I'm not opposed to suggestions while we got people here." She cants her head to the Spaceman, curious.R
Staren     "Huh." is Staren's response to Steve's explanation of his abilities. Yeah, must be a weird world physics thing. Staren then turns and looks at Rory. Quirking an eyebrow as she disrobes, but he's kind of expecting what he sees, and what she does next. Which surprises him, but not for the reason one might think: "You built your matter manipulator into it?? That's /handy/. ...So, I know your perspective's a but different, being used to no body, but you /have/ spent a lot of time in a body, so... what's being a flexbot like?"

To Steve, Staren shrugs. "Could be interesting. I've studied automata both magical and electromechanical. Although, given how many people are going to be at this base, I'm going to have to think about how any defensive constructs should identify friend and foe. Wouldn't want there to be a tragic accident if someone made only a tiny mistake or something."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite nods to Seft, and flicks open her C-PAD device. "Think Ah got 'nuff stock on my ship to set up somethin' basic to get thin's goin' here." She flicks a toggle with her thumb to scroll through lists. "Later Ah can set up a smelter like Ah use back home, that can break down junk into reusable or reforgable materials, too. Then the colony will be puttin' out less waste material as well."

She gives a nod of her head in the direction of Moonfin. "Yer green-minded allies would pro'ly appreciate that, too."
Starbound Flotilla     "Huh, gotta get the hocus pocus power, huh? I can dig it, bossman." George takes the disk and does so with a bit of flourish. "Still got no idea what the abracadabra nonsense you're jamming into it is, but hey! You got people for that, and that means I got people for that! I'm sure we can find some folks wanting to jump on up into new worlds and do a little work for some extra cash." Albert, meanwhile, settles into arranging that. Thus far, it looks like more residential, manufacturing, and power issues are covered! Only the sustenance will necessitate imports and such at these levels. They've still got some time to get the farming worked out, though!
Steve     "Back at my place," Steve reasons, already tearing into carving another rectangular space of flattened soil, "Up until the Ritual, I was the only one around. Was pretty easy. The golems just seemed to key in on aggression and went after what 'wasn't me' and was actively fighting." His eyes look sort of distant and thoughtful as he smashes through some stone that was closer to the topsoil than usual easily with his pickaxe, scooping up the resulting material into his inventory. Again, it's like he is the matter manipulator. "I think the Eldritch must have built protection into their golemancy, because I had to really go out of my way just to convince a golem that it was okay to cull animals. Can't imagine what it'd be like to convince one to shoot me." Well, except his early experiments with grafting zombie brains onto golems. He'll just not mention that, no need to make anyone alarmed at a problem that has been solved.

"Other'n that, you could just place them around trouble spots? I've heard the superfactions use something called 'RFID' to tag folks. You could just have people wear a badge or some other identifyin' gizmo, when they have to work in those sites. Just my thought, I'm no expert on that kinda thing."
Rory White     FLEXBOT:
"Surprisingly, it's a little disorienting in other ways. I became so used to having specific bodies for specific tasks I need to keep reminding myself to use some of the more advanced features. What is the saying? 'Habits die hard?' ... It makes me wonder about my original purpose. As in, whether I would have been suited for my original purpose if I can develop bad habits! ... But it's also very... very fun! Shifting from biped to quadruped so I don't need to worry about balance is a big improvement."

Rory's focused heavily on this digging. At least, that thought-thread jamming the flexbot is. The digging is, unsurprisingly, making MAXIMUM USAGE of the Matter Manipulator with a carefully timed, highly optimized digging pattern that just doesn't look.... NATURAL... to most onlookers. The same way that tool-assisted speedrun video games just aren't... NATURAL. The material's swept up at the very fullest efficiency without ANY pause.

Pretty easy to tell that's due to an AI assist. Normal cognition couldn't process anything so specialized so spectacularly.
Starbound Flotilla     "Yarharharhar! Aye, lass, we'll get ye a proper catalogue of what we been salvagin', buyin', makin', all that. Get yer pick of 'em! For /now/," She hefts one of the big Matter Manipulators -- the tool is a two-pronged industrial thing, grabbed between the prongs. "Easy to figure. Point and click to extract. Point and push the other buttons for dispensin'. Loaded with a little prefab chunks for ye to start off with! Give 'em a shot, lass. Furniture, we can print later. We'll be wirin' these places up soon enough. Ye can have a home away from home!" One feathery eyebrow raises just slightly, alongside the edges of her mouth. "Ye know, with a proper ship and a proper home, ye can afford t'be takin' a few more risks. Ye don't need to, lass. Just remember ye /can/, if ye ever do." For now, Pavo will be surprisingly kind in helping to show Nozomi how to use the Matter Manipulator to build her own little residence there!
Souji Murasame "Yes... Or perhaps we can simply fuel it with liquid Erchius. It seems to be compatible enough." Souji replies. "Barring that, we can provide whatever you need until we have a bridging system created." Souji seems satisfied at the moment, turning his attentions to watching the general plan take shape while he sends the orders to have the requisite machinery delivered. If nothing else, it'll be faster to set up and get everything online than building it from scratch. Probably. "This planet is extremely rich. It will be worth continued investigation."
Starbound Flotilla     "Power station? Not a bad idea. George is speaking, in that part to Alexis, kinda calling over to her from his place near Souji. "This much residence plus this much future manufacturing and the security stuff you guys were talking, we might need the power, right? Or, I dunno, magic's a big mystery. Sounds like a good plan to me, though. You get the orders figured out and we can pull together enough Flotilla funds to get something off your world. Nothin' much, maybe whatever... I dunno, nutrient paste you grow around your world? How's the food stuff still work there? If you're hurting for suggestions, some growth tanks of whatever that is." He kinds does a helpless shrug at that one!
Staren     "Huh." Staren comments. And then in his place is a black cat, which continues in a squeaky voice as it pads around Rory, looking up at her. "I never had that much trouble balancing on two legs, but I do like four for walking long distances." He sits and watches her dig. "Huh. Can you give me that algorithm you're using? Might be useful to have a robot do it whenever I need to excavate a large area."
Alexis Maaka     "Not a bad idea, no." Alexis definitely had planned for a long term form of acquiring food, "We just eat food, though it tends to be glorified tofu most of the time. Noodles are still noodles though, even if it's soy crap." She says, shrugging a shoulder. "THe real natural stuff, even with chemical additives, tends to be fucking expensive as shit. You don't wanna know how they make McNuggets back home." The cyborg deadpans, then begins messaging Kaz regarding the food station. TIME FOR RECYCLERS.
Nozomi Houken     "...eh? Risks...?" Nozomi blinks, looking a little confused. She does not get what's being insinuated at all! Taiga, in the meanwhile, merely lies there nearby while his user plays around with the Matter Manipulator.

And while the mousy girl isn't /much/ of a gamer, she still has the hand-eye coordination to start getting the hang of building things here or there. It's a bit slow for the first couple of parts, but after a little effort and fiddling, she has managed to make... well, a box, really. Four walls, a flat ceiling, and a floor. But it's something! ...except that there's no doorway. Oops. Upon realizing her mistake, she starts messing with the menu, trying to find what she's looking for. "A-ah, um, is... is there a door, or..."
Starbound Flotilla     "Eager. Enough for the structure and basic setup, it will benefit best from your own specialist equipment, Kotone. Seft's Matter Manipulator pops up a relevant display, showing the bits of crafting gear she has and the assorted building materials! And... Wow, it really looks like the Matter Manipulator must fill in for a LOT of her tools if this is what she uses! Well, she's seeming pretty up to the task, in any case, ready to help out with the construction!
Rory White     FLEXBOT:
"Hmmm? Certainly! Doubt there's much more optimization that can be done, but if you think of anything..." Rory doesn't just send the algorithm. A Mesh connection file transfer offers the entire Device AI in short order. It really is just a modified Device AI. Along with the specs for integrating a Matter Manipulator with alternative control methods and inventory displays.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks back to Seft for a moment as sh'es htinking about her own pklans, shje looks at her feriend with a grein.

"That will be great."

She gets her own unit out which is likely carrying mostly the gear she wants to set up. It doesn't have the storage power of Seft's unit but it's still saves her so much time.

"Sounds like a plan."

She'll help Seft here and there but the more experianced MM user will be given center strage as they start getting the shop set up. She then sends a message to Rory, both of her to be sure.

<<Hey I might need soem fabber for junk reclaiming and part fabbing. I might get stuff I won't have anything in stock for and fabbers are faster than a 3d printer.>>

"So Seft, you done this before, I mean a whole colony or is this new for the Flotilla as well? Also how was the food?"
Staren     Staren-cat nods to Rory, "Thanks!" Then Kotone joins in with setting the... is this to be manufacturing then? Manufacturing up. Staren returns to normal. "One fabber, comin' up!" He flies back to the meeting place, sucks the Desktop Cornucopia Machine he left there, as well as some of the building materials, into his matter manipulator, and flies back, depositing it next to Kotone. "I mean, this is hardly an industrial-size one but it's a start. Use fabbers to make bigger fabbers, right?" He follows Seft's plan, building walls and such.
Starbound Flotilla     This is the state of the colony as it stands. It's been several hours since it was created; the Starbound Core Fleet itself got to work on main residential blocks, while others got to work on their seperate shops and smaller associated residences. The clearing team has cleared much of the valley's tree and irregularity of terrain, leaving it a perfect foundation. While this means the walls and upper areas of the valley will still need their services, but for now, there's more than enough space.

The machine shop and future refining and smelting site are going well. The tree will be planted and sprouted soon, and the site of the future power station as well. Alongside that, there are several residences going up! For those, such as Nozomi, who, uh, don't know how to operate the things they need, or who lack the critical furniture, they're getting help. Nozomi, herself, in fact, is getting help from Pavo! Though eventually she sort of hands that off and lets it go back to Albert being the one in charge of helping Nozomi, AS USUAL. Seft, meanwhile, is helping set up the engineering areas and explaining her own lack of experience with colonization, but apparently they're following a nice open-source guide to this sort of business!

Speaking of the guide: The final situation is pretty straightforward. An area marked out for refinery and smelting, alongside heavy manufacturing. A machine shop in mostly servicable condition. A power site that will come online in a few days, in time to take up the slack of the batteries. A wide open space for future farming developments and building. Residential areas in functional but sparsely furnished condition. And that is, it seems, a pretty good start for a few hours! Soon, more! But after a while, the Starbounders call a break, inviting people to get something to eat, sit around, take the load off, that sort of thing. Good work!
