Kamon Lionward DISASTER DAY spreads to all corners of Alexander Academy!

Across the courtyard, the Practical Education buildings have come under siege! The 'Heartless' that floods out of the holes in space get inside before a couple of hapless students can properly seal it up, rushing into the interior. It looks like the fighting has started up around the gymnasium, with skirmishes between the younger Warriors and Knights and the pitch-skinned Heartless gaining heat as every moment passes!

The roof of the gym is open, like it is whenever aerial combat practice has to happen. Above it, an especially large rend in space starts to peel open, a vortex spinning into sight. Dark lightning and terrible thunder cracks and rumbles!

That can't be good.

Do something about it, heroes!
Audrey Stormfist     Guarding the roof of the gym (and by extension, the terrible tear in space and reality) is a warrior so fearsome, s/he gets an introduction cut-in and a backstory! A common footsoldier of the Heartless, rising above its peers through one fact alone: where they wield one weapon, it picked up the sword of a fallen compatriot! Instantly promoted to boss status, that being now stands in your way, wielding TWO swords!

Dressed in brown and gold armor, with black clothes underneath to simulate the black skin, and a veil over her face (courtesy of the Black Mages' club) cast by her pointed hat adorned by the Heartless sigil, it'd probably be hard to recognize Audrey, save maybe by fighting style. That Black Mage veil even has a voice distorter built-in, they really know their hat-making.
Dominic Masoch     True to his word, when Disaster Day struck Dominic HAD been in the gym. And that means that he doesn't have too much time to change, look presentable, or put on any number of his dashing outfits. Instead, Kyra is going to miss out on the best sight she never saw:

The door to the roof of the gym is swung open and Dominic steps out onto it. He's wearing what appear to be basketball shorts, a tank-top, high-top sneakers, and his hair is hanging somewhat loose around his shoulders. He looks like a sweaty dude that was working out about 10 minutes ago. He was in no way engaging in a game of Full Contact Classketball, a COMPLETELY BANNED game that uses a ball, full powers usage, and weapons without adult supervision.

His sword and sheath are held in one hand, but he draws the rapier easily with a swift motion, "Pardon me! Your intrusion upon our campus has been noticed! If you do not leave at once, you will be forcibly removed."
Landon al Cid      Well, it's Disaster Day.

A lot of students treat Disaster Day much like fire drills - a boring, routine thing that disrupts normal activity and basically makes everyone tired, stressed, and unhappy after spending lots of time out in the cold.

Landon al Cid is not one of those students. The Prince of Ramuh embraces the silly game that is Disaster Day, because, frankly, it's not all as silly as a lot of people make it out to be. It wasn't that long ago that Galianda *did* suffer from things like this, and it's not that unlikely that Galianda could suffer from invasions and monsters in the future. Besides-which, as far as the Prince is concerned, it's /fun/. The special effects and hard work put into the mission are always entertaining, and the Prince enjoys being able to lose himself in these sort of things from time to time. Almost anything is better than the high-pressure world of Galiandan politics, after all.

The Prince of Ramuh fights uphill through the gym, pushing his way through the various 'Heartless' with a mix of physical acument, dueling ability, and occasionallly just plain trickery of the sort people only rarely realize he's capable of. He carves a path through his enemies (with the flat of his blade), turning aside the 'Heartless' until he can make it onto the roof of the building.

"You know," Landon says as he falls in line next to Dominic, "It really does take all the fun out of it when you beat me up here."
Mirielle Edelweiss     The PE Building. Mirielle Edelweiss has had no reason to spend much time here. And, as Disaster Day showed up with gusto and DARK CREATURES filled with... Darkness... appeared, she found herself tugging her out-of-place peaked witch hat down around her ears, taking up the rear with a gloomy look as her matte black cloak hanging around her shoulders. "It's not so bad, everyone. We can let this group slide, right? There's no big loss if the PE Building gets ruined, right? Perhaps the PE Dean's office, too? Their records room? It would be a shame if they'd have to just pass everyone. This is a wound, and much like triage, we can write off the useless, tertiary parts of the whole." She murmurs, to the group.

Nero's arrival causes her some strong pause, before she takes up position at Landon's flank, staring down the dire use of the UNCOMMON SOLDIER.

"Beware. It could be a talented ninja, known for their Shadow Arts and debilitating conditions - Dual Weilding is a hallmark of the class, and this being could be truly devastating." She reasons.

Or it could be a soldier with TWO SWORDS.

But Mirielle puts her money on horrible super-killer ninja heartless.
Nero      Once Dominic arrived at the roof, having drawn his rapier and addressed the Heartless blocking his path...a shimmer of magic particles formed right next to him, and there materialized Nero. Her hands rested on her hips in a proud manner. "Hm! I see! So this school is beset by dark forces regularly?" She asked no one in particular, looking around in the process.

"How quaint! I approve! What a fascinating pastime!" And with a smirk on her face, the Servant directed her gaze to the (UN)COMMON SOLDIER. "Well! This seems to be quite an important adversary." She raised one arm, Aestus Estus materializing in a flash of red particles. "Be glad, foul creature! I, Emperor Nero, shall be your opponnent this day!"

Pause. Landon and Mirielle arrive next.

"As well as Sir Masoch, Sir al Cid, and Lady Edelqiess. But do not worry about them! It is mostly I!"

     Great vote of confidence there.
Kamon Lionward The crack in the sky widens. The summoning of whatever it is they're summoning is not complete, and yet... something falls from above!

It looks, to all sights, like a man-sized lump of metal. It hits the roof with a cacophonous crash, settling in a roughly ball shape. There's a sound of scraping metal on metal as it shifts, taking up an almost hunched-over stance. It seems to struggle with it for a moment. It extends a clawlike hand...

More metal falls from the sky, plates raining from above. They're pulled to the figure with unnatural* force, clashing with the bare, rusted plates and covering it completely. It's quickly enveloped in a suit of huge, thick plate, with a helm reminiscent of a leering demon, bearing two horns which extend to either side of its head to the width of its shoulders. A cloak of chains hangs from its back, rusted and clattering.

Yellow eyes open beneath the helmet. Its hand opens again -- and a titanic sword drops to the roof of the building, the gauntleted hand closing around the haft. It holds it angled behind it, the huge weapon easily too big to wield in one hand... right?

"Mongrels," it growls, with a voice like metal scraping across stone. "I, too, will be your opponent."

Kamon Lionward MEANWHILE

"Sparky, this is the worst idea you've ever had," Kamon whispers harshly into the microphone inside the inner suit. His balance is shot to hell by the weight of the 'armor.' "Will this even hold up when it gets hit?"

"'course it will!" 'Sparky,' an Odynari Black Mage and aspiring Bard, speaks into his ear. He's sitting somewhere far away, controlling a bunch of the special effects. "Just... don't get hit too much."

"W-what?!"

* aforementioned force may actually be magnets
Audrey Stormfist     Dominic! ... wait what is he wearing.
Oh that's. Unusual. Rare. Eye-candy, for sure. Were this meant to be more of a comedy, Audrey might swoon just a bit. But it's not! And he's soon joined by Nero, not to mention the prince himself lagging behind just a bit. And Mirielle! Whom she has no qualms with, although her quips give her a few ideas to enhance this performance a little bit.

"Emperors suck! They only have ONE sword!" GIRGA TWO-BLADES replies through the voice modulator, pointing one of its two large swords at Nero, while the other points at Dominic. "You can't win! Give it up! If you hand me your swords I'll make it painless!" Just think, it could become GIRGA FOUR-BLADES. That's not just a boss anymore, that's a story roadblock.

"Behold, my lord!" Girga motions towards newly formed nightmare. "Even if I fall, he will be your doom!" But that's enough BANTER. If they think she is a ninja, Audrey will oblige.

She suddenly vanishes, flash-stepping to Dominic and Nero's rears! There's no honor in this swordfight anymore. Arms wound up around her body, she suddenly spins like a whirlwind, extending arms, hands and swords once she does so. Technically this is a Monk ability, but shut up.
Dominic Masoch     "Sorry. I happened to be nearby," Dominic replies as he grips his blade tightly in his hand and then looks back to GIRGA TWO-BLADES, "I am afraid I cannot surrender this blade. It has a certain sentimental value to me, thank you kindly," He returns, looking askance at Nero when she declares she will be the one to save the day.

And then the Scrapyard Stalwart has made his appearance and the fight is no longer four (three and a half, depending on how Mirielle was feeling that day) against one, but rather against two. And the enemy has taken the initiative. Dominic steps forward and rolls a bit as his foe appears behind him with blinding speed. His roll forward means that the blade only grazes along his shoulder, slicing through tanktop and opening a wound just below one of his shoulder blades.

Moving into a crouch from the roll, he pivots and then turns around, lancing forward with a quick and simple thrust towards one of the arms of Girga. Hopefully, if he can damage a sword arm and reduce him back down to one sword, he'll lose his boss-like status.
Landon al Cid      The Scrapyard Stalwart arrives. Landon gives a low whistle of appreciation at the hard work and craftsmanship, because really, how can you not? The Nightmare Clad In Iron is an impressive bit of engineering and special effects. "They really did go all-out this year," he says to Mirielle cheerfully.

Then he switches gears entirely, flicking a card into his hand. It pulses with light as he prepares to cast. "Leave this place at once, creature! We shall not allow you to take even one step further into our world!"
Mirielle Edelweiss     The terrible Ninja-Warrior, a logic-defying combination of SPEED and AGILITY and also TWO SWORDS has Mirielle's threat assessment through the roof. Worse yet, the Warrior may be Pirate or Berserker, compounding the threat TWO SWORDS can bring to an astronomical level, being an enemy of darkness and horrible shadow, rife with potential abilities and debilitating or even immediately lethal techniques. Sap, blind, silence...

Dominic should be able to match the terrible foe, and his Fencing Arts may yet turn the tides, and Miriele has more pressing concerns, as she is not attakced.

"First a martial-focused Ninja, and now a titan of metal? And this is just one zone being attacked." She agrees with Landon, removing one hand from her hatbrim to extend at the SCRAPYARD STALWART. "In conflicts such as these, first attack with debilitating effects - Armor Break, Slow, Blind, and other physical ailments to cut enemy power, while we ascertain the enemy's attack patterns." She extends a hand, sworling with darkness as motes of energy flicker around it, like a tiny singularity.

"I will support you, Prince Landon."

Instead of engaging in WITTY BANTER with the STALWART, Mirielle just tries to abuse the entrance animation to prepare and cast DEMI, to chunk away at the Stalwart's HP right off the bat. But what if the power of time and gravity aren't effective...

    ... AGAINST F***'ING MAGNETS?!
Nero      "..."

"Emperor's 'suck'!? Were you raised in a barn? Very well! Then I shall have you take those words back with my one blade!" She lowers her stance, ready for action. ...And then the battle is joined by the ironclad giant. Nero blinks, and then smirks.

"Foolishness. You may call upon as many lords as you wish, but the outcome will remain the same!" There is a brief moment of surprise as the heartless soldier flash steps behind her and Dominic. But the recovery on Nero's part is equally swift. Whirling around, the Servant defended, single blade clashing against the pair.

And while Dominic rolled out of the way, Nero held her ground, attempting to keep their dual wielding opponent occupied while he lunged in for the thrust.
Audrey Stormfist     With Nero occupying both of GIRGA TWO-BLADES's swords by blocking them and entering a contest of strength (which she actually appears to have the upper hand in, no less!), it's a trivial matter for Dominic to thrust with precision towards one of the Heartless' arms. It cuts cloth, obviously, though underneath is only a black void, again courtesy of the Black Mages' club.

We may never know how they make their hats and robes so that everything inside them appears pitch black with glowing yellow eyes. It's a protected trade secret.

Wounded so, Girga breaks off from Nero, now reduced to a single sword. If someone retrieves his fallen sword, it's basically just a random, decent sword, with a Fire-1 pattern.

GIRGA ONE-BLADE frowns, looking around, feigning nervosity. It spots another random Heartless soldier nearby and leaps towards it, pushing it away to confiscate its spear.

GIRGA ONE-BLADE ONE-SPEAR points the longer weapon at his foes. "I have the range advantage now! And yes, emperors suck! Prove it if they don't!"

With a leap, GIRGA ONE-BLADE ONE-SPEAR executes a shoddy, poor man's version of a Dragoon jump, attempting to land on Dominic! And immediatly, the remaining sword bursts into flames, firing an arcing shockwave slash towards Nero!
Dominic Masoch     If nothing else, Nero's boisterous challenge was useful for Dominic to be able to get in and land the hit he needed, darting in and out rapidly as she locks up the blades of Girgas with her own. Whether her ability to work in tandem was accidental or intentional, he wouldn't complain that it existed in the first place.

Dominic plants his sneakers against the ground and attempts to dash backwards, lest he be impaled. The dodge is incredibly close, though, and shaves a deep gash into his shoulder with the point of that spear as it whizzes down by him, "Tch. The versatility of your maneuvers. Bothersome," He grunts.

But, an opponent without MP is an opponent who can't USE those maneuvers. And so Dominic's rapier begins to glow blue from him channeling a Fencer technique. He darts forward again, slashing and thrusting with his sword as he attempts to deal both physical damage and burn away his foe's mana to inhibit their maneuvers.
Nero      Nero did not take the time to survey Dominic's handiwork, once he completed the thrust. Once Girga breaks off, the Servant's red and black blade flared to life, flames whirling around it's form. "Oh I shall prove it!" She reponded boistrously. "Très Fontaine Claudeo!" Invoking the ability, Nero became covered in an aura of prana, one that drained health upon each successful sword stroke landed.

With her preparations completed, she raised her blade, weathering the wave of fire that came for her. Flames licked at multiple points, but that was okay. That was okay because she'd be getting that health back if she had anything to say about it! Nero stepped in, and then burst forward, closing the distance and unleashing a number of flaming sword strikes. She weaved in and out, taking care not to be in the way when Dominic struck, and that he was not in the way when she struck.

While Dominic worked to whittle down GIRGA's MP, she'd whittle down his HP. An attack on both fronts!
Kamon Lionward THE SCRAPYARD STALWART takes a terrible step forward. The earth shakes with its passing!! Or it would if they were on that, or had any of it underneath them... but maybe the roof is supposed to shake like that?

Oh, no, that's because the roof is opening wider. The gym below, with its skirmishes on the open ground, is rumbling. The floor is sliding open, replacing the court with... /hot lava/! The bubbling red pool fills the space below the gap, threatening a hot and terrible doom for any who fall into the gym below! Already, students are being herded towards it. One hapless White Mage tumbles in, screaming!

("Nooooo!" she cries. "I'll never get this food coloring out of my roooooooobe!!")

"You have no power here, /Prince/," the Scrapyard Stalwart says. He takes another step forward -- and is stopped by DEMI, a chunk of armor peeled off and tossed away! But then... it comes back! Is this the raw and unbridled power of /magnetism/!? The Stalwart lets out a dark, low laugh of darkness. He extends one hand --!!

Chains fly off the cloak, lashing out! They fly forward at Mirielle, trying to shove her back! The rest rattle darkly and ominously, clinking and clattering in a way that probably would be a static pattern if someone was watching closely enough. There's only so much you can do, you know? "Suffer and fall, worm!"

Then, that sword moves! He swings it horizontally, a huge, heavy slash with the blunted weapon. It's more like a big, long, dense pyramid than a proper sword. It does great knocking-around, but not so much people cleaving. Watch out, Landon, or you're gonna get launched! "Gwa ha ha ha ha ha!!"
Audrey Stormfist     "Versatility is power!" GIRGA ONE-BLADE ONE-SPEAR replies to Dominic, without bringing up the fact it also means in a situation like this-- two master swordsmen against a jack of all trades-- taking them on with nothing but swords without actually using versatility would be suicide.

It's easy to tell when Dominic's sword glows that she should dodge, but Audrey finds herself far too busy keeping up with Nero to be able to avoid the Fencer. Did she just go Dark Knight? Surely this'll be useful to know later, but right now she's jut a bit furious Kyra apparently got herself a second competent swordsman with a wide array of tricks.

The Fencer's strike draining her MP, and Nero's own actually breaking her sword and landing a hit on a shoulder-- an arm-disabling hit, from all accounts, GIRGA ONE-SPEAR is forced to take a leap back and throw her spear away.

    "You haven't won this yet!"

She pulls out... TWO VIALS. Labeled 'Elixir'.

GIRGA TWO-ELIXIRS hastily starts drinking. Actually they're both Ethers, and she's using her Monk regeneration to close her wounds, but that's behind the smoke and the mirrors.

Discarding the empty vials, GIRGA TWO-FISTS, always a safe fall-back, dashes into Nero's private space, attempting to grab her arm with surprising strength, and then hurl her into Dominic.
Landon al Cid      The *gym is full of lava*.

Again, Landon cannot help but be wildly impressed by how much work has gone into Disaster Day this year. They even rigged the gym to open up! But that's just for intimidation factor, and shaping the battlefield to their control. As long as he doesn't forget it's there, it won't really become a factor at all.

"Understood, Lady Edelweiss," Landon agrees, his spell card blazing - only to have his splell interrupted by the sword swinging into him! Landon gets launched-

Or no, he doesn't! Landon gets *hit*, but he was evidently braced for it, and clings to the oversized sword as it's swung about. It swings him hither and dither, but the Prince nonetheless manages to cling on for dear...grade. A Law Card, clutched in his hand, glows a brilliant blue as he levels it at the 'monster.'

"Invader, when you stepped upon our land you became subject to our laws! And I hereby pronounce you: Guilty! The sentence..."

Blinding won't stop him, he has too much range, too wide a weapon. Paralyzing is unlikely to stick, so...

     "DISARM!"

Chains of blue light lash around the weapon Landon is clinging to, to pry it from the hands of the enemy and leave him without a weapon. Of course, given who Landon suspects is under the helmet, that's only a small deterrant...

Still, one step at a time.
Dominic Masoch     Navigating the gym roof and trying to avoid attacks at the same time is becoming a swift hassle for Dominic. He doesn't want to fall in Lava* as the gym roof opens to reveal a hostile plunge below, but nor does he want to have himself collide with Nero. He opts to take the mid-point between the two and dash in towards GIRGA TWO-MANY-TITLES.

He catches Nero by the arm and stumbles a bit, the damaged shoulder opening all the more from doing so. When he thinks she can regain her balance, he lets her go and keeps charging in, "This is it! No more games, foul monster! This is Checkmate!"

The blade of his rapier begins to surround itself with the familiar aura of 'Inflict: Doom' that the Fencer capstone ability is famous for having. Dominic lunges towards Girgan, switching his sword to his good hand and going for a forward thrust.

(For safety reasons, right before the attack connects, the status effect vanishes from the blade. He knows this is a volunteer and would never ACTUALLY inflict a deadly status effect)
Mirielle Edelweiss     As her gravity spell merely attacks the outer shell of the Stalwart, Mirielle rapidly tries to recalculate the odds in her heads. She does this precisely as the floor opens up below her, causing her to windmill arms and nearly fall down into the "Lava" below, her witch hat tumbling down into the bubbling pool below.

And revealing a magical sprig of mistletoe hanging over her head. "Ah! My hat!" She cries, nearly falling now but catching herself on the edge, struggling.

    Mirielle's GREAT SHAME is revealed.

"D-damn... This isn't part of the calculations... I saw the budget! And if your power over metal is total..." Mirielle's frustration grows, as she scrambles up the edge, panting, turning a hand towards the Scrapyard Stalwart that crackles with electricity. "Then I'll show you that strategy can't trump tactics!" She announces, before firing off a crackling bolt of Thundara into the hopefully-now-disarmed creature.

Metal is weak to lightning, right? Or... or was it Fire?
Nero      Nero grinned as GIRGA THE TERRIBLE TYR- wait wrong title, ANYWAY, their opponent was put on the ropes! Victory was their's! Just another push and...Oh. It leaped away. "Hey! That is cheating! Who said that you are allowed to use ite-WHA!" And then Nero is suddenly set upon and thrown. She half flies towards Dominic, who mercifully catches her enough to allow her to regain her own footing.
...Just in time to avoid falling into that pit of 'lava'. This was becoming quite a hassle! Frowning deeply, Nero whirled around and pointed at GIRGA-TWO FISTS. "I shall acknowledge that you are possessed of some skill, knave! However! The time has come for me to grasp victory!"

The draining aura faded away, willingly dissolved by the Servant. She needed no distractions. Just one good moment. Her blade lit afire once more and she began to slowly walk forward. She watched as Dominic dashed in, unleashing his special technique. And once that final thrust came, Nero raised her blade, flames flaring to life brilliantly. She gripped Aestus Estus with both hands and lunged with dizzying speed.

     "Laus Saint Claudius!"

A blur of red and orange sped past GIRGA, and then Nero skid to a stop, hunched down in a post slash pose. A moment later...a rather subdued burst of crimson exploded in her vicinity. Nero also used the flat of her blade.

This was apparently an exercise, so no need to go ALL out. Right?
Kamon Lionward Can't have Disaster Day without some proper disasters. The student body involved with it loves to amp things up year after year. Checking the budget only sets you up for awe and failure!

Landon doesn't leave the stage! The Nightmare of Scrap Iron That Was Probably Lying Around follows through, sweeping him towards the edge of the roof. He takes it in his other hand, rotating it and swinging it back the other way, jarring Landon terribly. Is he going to scrape him off on the edge of the roof?!

Well, no, because his weapon is compromised! The binding chains enwrap the huge weapon, tearing it from the Probably Mostly Aluminum-Clad Nightmare's grasp! It spins away, with Landon attached... towards the hole in the ceiling! "Fool! You think that will stop me?!" He raises his hand to the heavens --

("Sparks, gimme something to work with," Kamon whispers into his microphone.)

-- and spots Mirielle instead. The hand comes back down, grabbing at the chain-cloak and yanking one off. The Stalwart flings it at Landon, the hook on the end where it affixes to the armor used kind of like a fishing line. A second one gets grabbed in the other hand... and gets chucked at Mirielle, whose hand is presently covered in crackling electricity!

The Scrapyard Stalwart shakes and roars when the lightning strikes him, but does not fall. Does Landon fare any better?!
Landon al Cid      The hook catches Landon by the scruff. Lightning roars through the Prince's body, hitting him RIGHT in that metal armor that he wears. Temporarily stunned and deafened, Landon has no time to do anything but fall - fall, fall, fall, down into the most-definitely-lava!

He does have time to howl out a curse on the Nightmare's name before he vanishes into the most-definitely-lava with a loud splash.

He's going to be washing this stuff out of his hair for *weeks*.
Audrey Stormfist     Audrey can recognize a DOOM effect when she sees one. If that hits, she'd have to agree it's checkmate indeed. So she'll have to do her best to avoid that. While also avoiding getting thrown into lava. And there comes Nero. Well, that plan is about to get tested hard.

Nero being fasted, she has to be dealt with first. GIRGA TWO-FISTS cannot selectively decide to just dodge Dominic, though it would be convenient if she could. Instead she focuses on guarding against Nero, crossing her arms in an X in front of herself. The Servant passes-- slashes into the arms-- and that's that. Out of the woods?

Until Nero's blade explodes, after the fact. The explosion knocks the Heartless towards Dominic, whose blade grazes her head and knocks her pointy hat off.

Unveiled, Audrey raises her hands up, giving up.

"Well fought. But I'd suggest you not celebrate too quickly, as your second opponent is still standing. Due to the setup, this counts as a team effort, and you'll be graded on overall performance."

Inwardly she mutters. She should be stronger than both of these people. Was not being able to use her Heritor tricks that much of a crippling? Well, it was 'just for fun', she supposes, and she learned some things.
Mirielle Edelweiss     Mirielle is gripped in the muckly electro-fist of the Scrapyard Stalwart, and cries out in terrible pain, as Landon falls to his 'death' in 'lava'.

She screams because it hurts. Because Mirielle's pain tolerance is utter garbage. She tries to shout "Bar th-" but is cut off by another howl of pain.

As she struggles and cries out, she doesn't summon more magic to her side. Instead, she reaches out, to one of the edges of the metal plate, and gashes her palm onto it, letting her blood flow out onto the metal. Which, well, doesn't do much but risk tetanus. For now.

She is a tiny mage-girl with bad physical stats across the board. But she presses her bleeding palm against the metal of the arm as she's shocked to shit, and focuses her SHADY POWERS through it.

    She'll probably need help.
Dominic Masoch     Dominic flashes Audrey a fairly wide grin, "Ah, Lady Stormfist. As ever, you prove one of the few foes here at Alexander that can provide me a challenge. Had I fought alone, you surely would have bested me today," He admits, flicking his blade a bit and putting more of his weight towards the unwounded side of his body.

And then Audrey reminds him that his comrade is in danger. Running his hand through his hair, he nods, "Right. We will talk after," Even if it's practice, it's not good to leave Mirielle unattended. And Dominic really does not want to see the poor mage TOO injured by this practice exercise, amusing as it was to watch Landon plunge into the lava which would surely stain him for weeks.

With an agile leap, he endeavors to cross the distance between his current position and Mirielle's opponent. His arm flicks in the air, using another Fencer technique: Nighthawk. The tip of his blade emits a blast of magic that makes a hawk-like screeching noise before trying to collide with the gauntlet grabbing Mirielle.

As he descends, it becomes apparent that his goal was less to damage the boss, but rather to get it to release its grip on Mirielle so he can try to put an arm around her waist and egress her from immediate danger towards a more secure and back-line position. He's hoping, or rather, relying on the fact that Nero will probably want all the glory of defeating the 'boss', which his chief concern is Mirielle.
Nero      "Aha! Lady Stormfist, we meet again." Nero greeted as she turned around to regard her. "I should have words for you, but now is clearly not the time." Her gaze settled on the IRONCLAD NIGHTMARE up ahead, whome Mirielle was...have trouble with.

After some radio exchange, their roles were decided. Nero left Mirielle entirely to Dominic and focused on the boss. She ran forward, a ways behind the swordsman, and once he let loose the thrust meant to unhand their indisposed team member, Nero rushed in and attempted to....shoulder tackle the giant of a figure.

...RIGHT INTO THE OMINOUS PIT OF LAVA

That's how all villains meet their end, right?

     RIGHT!?
Kamon Lionward Landon falls. The sword goes with him, but the important part is that the Prince is down. The Stalwart laughs, a dark, rumbling thing. Of darkness. So dark it's dark /twice/. "See now the price of your defiance against the /daaaarknessssss/!!" Yeah that's a Nocturne-esque hiss, there. Definitely evil. Definitely overwrought.

Disaster Day, ladies and gents.

The Nightmare Clad in Not Terribly Shiny Iron has Mirielle in his clutches. He reels her in, and stomps imperiously over to the edge of the pit. He holds her up -- and she bleeds on him. This is just kind of gross at first, but the fact that he feels like he's starting to twitch and spasm a little maybe means it's not /just/ gross.

This is because the hexing that he's suffering is /itching/. While he's in /full armor/.

Dominic hits the gauntlet, and the Bad Dream Bedecked in Ferrous Material releases his victim before she can take an untimely plunge -- to her doom! He recoils, arms spread and helmet rolling, making a growling sound of frustration and doing a sort of open-arm pose that sentai villain would. He's really into it this year! (And also itching himself on the inside of the plate mail.) "I will see you destroyed for your --"

And then Nero happens. The Pretty Sketchy Imaginings Stuffed Into Common Crafting Supplies half-turns, and raises one arm, as if to make to catch her. He's too distracted to actually manage something like that, the intensely irritating hex making him /just slow enough/ that the Emperor connects! The huge armored suit gets knocked backwards, leaving the ground... and falling!

Now all Nero has to do is worry about the huge armored arm trying to drag her down with him.

"YOU WILL RUE THE DAAAAYYYYYYyyyyy...!"
Mirielle Edelweiss     With mistletoe hanging over them both, and Nero bearing down on the boss, Mirielle is carried off in Dominic's arms, shivering slightly from her impromptu electroshock therapy, and bleeding from the gash along her palm. "Dominic. Kiss me, and be done with this damnable hex upon me. I can even arrange for multiple character witnesses for both of us, should you desire to deny it." She mutters darkly, trying to cure up her wound.

"I believe Kamon will need a de-hexing after this."
Nero      Nero is successful!

     ...But she is grabbed.

     Nero falls!

"What? Wait, no! Unhand me you villaaaaaaaain!" Down down down down she goes. And mid-way, she changed her tune.

"Very well! Then I, Emperor Nero, shall see to it that you are sealed for all eternity! Let us go together, fiend!"

     SPLOOSH.

Dominic Masoch     Dominic looks at Mirielle and squints a bit at her request. There's this awkward sort of moment where it feels thematically appropriate, given his dashing and heroic exploits. He looks up at the mistletoe and tries to avoid laughing at the fact that she had it for THIS long.

"Ah ha... I see, Lady Edelweiss." Dominic laughs awkwardly, "I am relatively certain how Kyra would feel about such a thing, but. Perhaps this will do." He muses for a moment before lifting two fingers to his own lips and then pressing those two fingers to hers a moment later.

A kiss by proxy isn't an actual kiss, but it's TECHNICALLY a kiss, and hopefully enough to break her curse, "Ah... I suppose that double-regicide not taken into account, this was successful?"
Kamon Lionward The Creepy Yet Intriguing Dream You Can't Quite Remember But Try And Replicate With Aluminum Foil -- er, the Scrapyard Stalwart, that is, hits the lava with Nero, who has doomed him to a terrible fate. He sinks slowly into the not-actually-lava screaming in clear angry agony.

No, actually, frustration over itching through a voice-changer.

The last thing they see... is a gauntlet, raised to curse the sky, slowly sinking beneath the surface.
Mirielle Edelweiss     The Mistletoe remains resolutely over Mirielle's head. Mirielle gives Dominic a look. "Well. You mean well. And I cannot fault your propriety around Kyra, as she is rather terrifying when incensed. In any case..." She breaks free of his grip and looks down into the pool. "I need to go get my hat and make sure nobody drowns in that vat of coloring." She sighs, looking for a ladder down. "I need my hat if you are incapable of getting the job done, Mister Masoch." She chides lightly, with a small smile on her face.

"It would be rather a large breach if the Prince /actually/ died."
