Nightblind     STONEGATE -- The Cultural District. A tract of streets with schools, museums, opera houses and theatres. The fine center of the city, where statues grace parks and the massive Stonegate and McRae libraries stand across from one another, great buildings which would look equally at home in Ancient Rome or Medival France.

And atop the Stonegate Library, hidden among the grotesques, Nightblind sits. She has a to-go carrier of coffee, steaming in the January night. A light dusting of snow whirls around, and the cold nips at any exposed skin.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis, aka Batman came as fast as he could via the Warp Gate to where Nightblind was located and flew cloaked due to who he was. He doubts that the people of Stonegate City would be happy to see the Batman here for some reason, since Terry was sure that the word about him was here, just not as well as it was in Gotham. Slowing, Terry seeings Nightblind and the Batmobile coems in and hovers before lowering to the roof and landing gently, causing the snow to fly from the repulsors of the hover system.

Once the Batmobile has landed, it decloaks and the top opens up, with Batman standing up and hopping out. Looking, Terry moves over towards Nightblind and he nods, "Hi," he says and his voice sounds different than the normal Batman voice. The sound of concern is heard. "You up for talking? I have all night," he says to her as she walks over and sits down next to her.
Nightblind "Hey." Nightblind responds, lifting a hand in greeting as she hears Batman approach. She takes up one of the cups of coffee, and pulls down the cloth front of her mask. She takes a sip of the steaming hot liquid, and then leaves it down. When she talks next, it's not the svelt, smooth digital of Nightblind's vocoder.

"So. I guess maybe we have some things more in common then I thought." Ella says, as she leans back against the gargoyle, and looks up at Batman.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "That we do," he says to her as she pulls his cowl off and takes the offered coffee if there is one. "One reason why I kept who I was to myself and only a select few," he mentions. "A lot of what I do now, from the time I was 17 when I became Batman, to now when I pick up the mantel again after doing college and all, I return and the rest was history," he mentions to her. "And really, when you do what we do, you tend to get the mindset that, we are doing this not cause we want to, but because we have too." he states.

Looking, he sighs, "Now enough about me, what is up with you?" he asks her.
Nightblind     "My father was killed and I was blinded when I was seventeen." Ella replies, and she rubs the back of her head as she glances out over the four-lane street. Traffic lights halt, and a couple of college students hurry across. "I only met the inventer of this array when I was twenty. I've been at this for three years now and... still no closer to who ordered the killing, but I've become such a part of the city. Mackenzie... she's great, and a huge help, but what can she do about demons?" she inquires, and motions with her arms.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis "Ella," he says to her. "My father was killed and it was by the guy who was in charge of Wayne-Powers before Bruce took back over. He made it appear like Jokerz did it and When I found out, I went mad with anger and would do anythign to kill him. But I didn't, or else I would have been just likek those I stop," he says to her as he stands up and sits down next to her.

"There are a lot of people here in the Union that can help with that," he states. "Now if you needed a detective, or chemical making to fight toxins or the like I am your person." he adds with a grin.
Nightblind     "I have pressing matters to deal with as I unravel what happened that night... like having to acknowledge that demons are interfearing with my world and possibly affecting my behavior. I haven't been home in three days. I don't want Al or Mackenzie to get hurt." she replies and takes a sip of her coffee. Coffee good, demons bad. "So... does this mean that Mr. Wayne is....?" she ventures, turning to him, and seeing him, properly, letting the Echo array pick up on him, try and sort out the form. It'd be the closest she'd get to using her own eyes.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and grins, "You did not hear it from me," he says to her as he looks and thinks. "You have those earrings I got you for christmas?" he asks her.
Nightblind "I think I would have found out eventually. I do." Ella replies, giving a small smirk. "They're at home. I finally got to 'see' them, and they're lovely... I just... couldn't think of anything appropriate to send back. You don't seem like a 'Soir du Noir'-scent guy, and seriously, I don't know much about dancing." Ella replies ruefully, and drinks down more of her coffee. "Thanks for coming out, anyway Terry."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and grins, "Well, if you want, I can stand guard," he says to her. "Plus those earrings are unique and special." he adds as he looks and grins, "I am not worried about gifts, but I am worried about my friends. So I'll take you home and than I'll keep an eye on you and your place. I am pretty tough. And with tomorrow being Sunday, I am not worried about class," he adds as he offers a hand.

"Never be afraid of things. Fear is always with you and if you give into it, it will make you doubt everything you do. Accepting that, Fear can be an ally, even a companion. "Let me show oyu real quick," and he steps back, putting the cowl on. "Are you scared of bats?" he asks her simply as he pushes a button and takes a few more steps back.

If she has good hearing, off in the distance would be the sound of squeks and the like as alot of somethings are fling towards Terry and Ella.
Nightblind "You don't need to take me home; I can find my own way." she states, and she pauses, leaning over the edge, testing the air, and then drops the cup. It spins a few times, and then is swept right into a garbage can. Three points. She accepts his hand and draws upwards, and then she watches as he puts the cowl back on and she raises the front of her mask back up ovver her nose... and then he begins on fear.

"You don't remember the first time we met, do you?" she replies dryly, and she releases his hand as suddenly her monitors pick up several incoming things, and she turns. Targeting picks up several small incoming objects, flapping wings, echolocation making hers fritz slightly.

"Terry... /Terry this was perhaps a bad idea/." she replies, and the temperature drops several degrees as she tightens her hood slightly, the blue LED's on the side of her array kicking on.

<</ELLA YOU CONNECTED/>> a voice in her ear squeals <</THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN OH GOD ARE THOSE BATS?!>> Mackenzie cries out in her ear, and Ella /immediately regrets/ connecting to let eveyrone know she was safe. She was not safe. No.

/She was with the Goddamn Batman/.
Terry McGinnis     As Ella talks and gets ready, Terry looks and the bats fly past her and towards him, then begins to circle around him as more join in, all squeking as they move. "You take what will put fear into people and use it. Batman, someone who dresses as a big bat and stops criminals. The old man used this aspect to cause fear of the night in people. Knowing that The Batman could be anywhere. I can do the same," and he pushes the button and the bats beginto fly away. "When you surprise someone, and can disappear and be invisible to everyone and can summon bats, you tap into peoples fear. Rathe rit is the dark, snakes, spiders, water or whatever. The fight or flight aspect kicks in." and he looks as he walks over. "I have gone against people two to three times my age and skill and powers and still come out cause I use my mind. Plus being able ot lift up to 1700 pounds is helpful, as well as protection form fire, heat, cold, acid, bullets and electricity helps." and he grins.

"Sorry to have done that, but it is a nice trick to have access to so that you can really cause people to be scared of you." he mentions as he looks. "I am guessing, from you body language that Mackenzie is either laughing or freaking out," he asks.
Nightblind Nightblind is stiff, but she might be glaring at Terry. She might also be glaring at her equipment because she can't glare at Mackenzie through it. Just wait until she gets back to the...

"You're seriously madcat. You know that, right?" she states, and she draws herself back up. "Well. This began as a grand 'hey don't worry about the fact that your city may soon have an infestation of demons and you might not be able to control yourself or explode into a vat of corrosive alkalines' conversation and ended with 'let's scare and laugh at Nightblind'. Congradulations, Bats." she states, and tucks the carrying contatiner for the coffees back into her belt, and turns to skulk off. "I feel /so/ much better about bleeding demonic energy now."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and blinks, "Hey," he says as he runs over. "I am not laughing," he adds to her. "I was trying to prove a point," he mentions. "I do not laugh at those who are worried or in trouble," he mentions. "Tell me, who have you gone against recently?" he asks her. "Any magic users or the like?" he asks her.

Placing a hand on her shoulder and trying to stop her. "I am worried about you, your my friend and friends help friends," and he looks. "I am sorry, I was not trying to make fun of you," he adds. "But honestly, all joking aside, what has been happening here in Stonegate? Didn't Iron MAn and the Hulk stop something the other day?" he asks her.
Nightblind No good, Ella was clamming up, burrying herself in Nightblind again, the cold, emotionless voice of NIghtblind kicks back up as the vocorder turns on. "Months ago. Bank robbery. Purp exploded into a splat of supercorrosive alkaline. Thought it was the Hulk's doing -- it wasn't. Second occured two nights ago. Ended up eating a human-shaped hole in the floor of a building. Already had two paranomal investigators out. Only magic users I've ever encountered were Union, so unless someone's got a grudge against me, wouldn't know."

And she pauses, looking at that hand on her shoulder, and then back up to Bats. The blue LED on her mask lights up again, illuminating the metal and plastic beneath briefly.

"Don't."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods and releases his grip, "Alright," he says to her. "I will not force you or anything. Just keep me in mind if oyu need help with anything alright," he asks her. "And again, sorry," he adds as he turns and heads ot the Batmobile and stops looking at her and says nothing before heading back to the batmobile, "You ok McGinnis?" comes Max's voice. "Yea," he says. "I just messed up big time," he adds as he climbs in and sits down. "It happens. You were never very good at talking except to Dana," she says to him. "Yea," he states. "Wish I was a lot better," he adds as he watches Ella and thinks.
