Yari Takane The now slightly infamous 'Chiyo' is still at Kawakami. The blow to her pride is a rare one, and one could well say she's become obsessed. Besides, the Academy is a good training grounds, and she'd be foolish to pass that up.

And then Linne said she wanted to visit, and Yari Takane knew she was doomed. They're in the Academy's training area, and she's just finished up sparring with a few other students. Things went poorly for the non-Elites, the ninja showing off her blazing speed and blows to places that would kill many of them if she hadn't held back.

When the training ends? She gives a bored sigh. None of the students she'd looked into was around. Momoyo was gone again. It was almost not worth coming.

Linne, dressed in a kimono, waves a flag with Chiyo's face on it. She cheers on her adoptive mother loudly.

Yari smiles. Worth it after all.
Kazuko Kawakami      As much as Kazuko hates going to them, she can't skip classes every day even with permission to focus on her training with the Union. That's why she's actually at the school today, keeping in touch with her friends in Class-F and running her ass off during PE. Word has reached her about one of the non-local students making quite a name for herself, though, and it's probably not a huge surprise for 'Chiyo' that a certain Kawakami has come to visit her today!

It's just probably not the one she was expecting. Approaching Chiyo with an inquisitive look in her eyes, she's not all that subtle about just getting right next to her look her over closely. Too closely.

"... Aren't you...?" The name is on the tip of her tongue. There's something odd about this student, and it's not the fact that she's reminding Kazuko of another pair of students in Class-S.
Yari Takane Blink. A red haired Wanko arrives! A little too close. Yari actually leans back a bit. Shifts a foot back. Her tail's in her kimono, fishing up a kunai. Just in case. This /is/ Kawakami Academy after all.

And then it hits her. She knows the woman, at least in a picture. Kazuko Kawakami, sister to Momoyo Kawakami. Her entire body trembles for a moment before Yari reminds herself that Wanko isn't /really/ involved. As far as she knows.

A small sigh, then a smile. A tiny one. "I'm the transfer student, Chiyo, yes. Good evening, Miss...?" Comes Yari, quickly feigning not knowing the woman.

Linne comes up, and looks Wanko over. The little korean girl smiles. "Hello. I'm Linne. Do you know mommy?"
Kazuko Kawakami      Chiyo? That's the woman that Momoyo warned her about, isn't it? Kazuko's looking at Chiyo.. No, Yari wide-eyed for a moment, but the sound of Linne's voice snaps her out of that brief moment of shock. "Eh? Mom.. My?" She looks from Yari to Linne, then back and forth a few times before shaking her head and grinning broadly at the child.

"Nope! I don't think I've even seen a teacher here with a kid yet." Things aren't adding up in Kazuko's head, but this Chiyo couldn't be /that/ Chiyo, right? It's not as if that's an uncommon name, even if the name's way too similar. But if she has a child, then...

"I'm Kazuko Kawakami. Good to meet you, Chiyo." Smiling at Yari next, she squats by Linne while still looking up at the disguised woman. "How're you liking the school? I heard you've been winning a lot of challenges since coming here." She sounds excited, and the thought of challenging her to see her abilities is crossing her mind, but... Kid! Child! What's a Wanko to do?
Yari Takane The little one is soon at Yari's side, who quickly rubs the top of her head affectionately. Leeeean! It's likely sickeningly adorable.

Yari chuckles. "She was curious. Something about 'I want to go to where Mommy goes'." Linne blushes! Yari doesn't elaborate more on the obvious race difference.

Then the ninja almost gives a salute, then dipping into a bow. "Entirely mine, Miss Kawakami. Related to Momoyo Kawakami, I take it?" There's only a slight hint of teeth-grinding annoyance in there.

A small sigh. "There's a few around with skills around my level, but they all seem to be occupied. I can respect one pushing their limits, but, frankly I'm becoming bored. A decent fighter would be a better way to improve my own abilities."

Pause. "I think the sheer number is due to my not being human."

A pat to Linne's head, and the girl backs off. "Would you like to try your luck, Ma'am?"
Kazuko Kawakami      Despite her mouth being closed, there's a high-pitched noise coming from Kazuko as she watches Linne and Yari together. Or Chiyo. Or... Whoever! Either way, it's still incredibly cute. Noting that obvious race difference, however, her expression actually appears to soften considerably. "Aww.. Uh. Y-yeah! I'm Momoyo's little sister."

Standing back up, Kazuko returns Chiyo's bow with one of her own. Her ears twitch briefly, but.. No, she was probably just hearing things. "If you wanna fight strong people, there's always my sister if she's around. She's the strongest one in this school!" She announces proudly, clearing her throat once she realizes Linne's still there. ".. But you probably shouldn't challenge her. But! If you still want to fight a Kawakami-"

She grins broadly, tapping her own chest with her thumb. "Then I'm more than up for it!"
Yari Takane Definitely the one she saw in the Secret Base's files. That Lu-mey deleted. Another shift of her jaw. Linne gives a concerned look, but knows well enough to not prod. Her mother's secretive by nature. She instead finds a bleacher, and waves a little flag with Yari's face on it!

The ninja manages a humble smile. "I can't beat your sister without a few special advantages and a lot of planning ahead. I don't have that kind of direct power."

Her eyes narrow and that smile turns cold and serious. "Wonderful. I'll be interested to see what you're capable of. Use whatever methods you'd like. I'm not picky in that regard."

A look to Linne. She raises a handkerchief.

"3...2...1...Fight!" Goes Linne as she drops the handkerchief. Then Yari is getting right up in Kazuko's face. A hand comes out of her clothes, the standard uniform for the school. There's a deeply curved single edged knife as big as Wanko's hand being slashed towards her throat almost instantly. No hesitation, all blurring speed and intent to kill.

At least the knife is blunt and not poisoned. Yari has to follow rules here after all. No sense in cheating any more than normal. She certainly doesn't hit as hard as someone like Momo, but Yari aims to hit where it hurts. Hit or miss, Yari doesn't move after the attack, knife out defensively as she keeps her eye on Wanko.
Kazuko Kawakami      This has to be Chiyo. Yari. The one that her sister mentioned! There's just too many coincidences for even Kazuko to ignore, but... If that girl really is her daughter, then she couldn't be that bad, right? "Ehe... Yeah, she's way too strong for anyone to ever beat in a straight fight. I'll just stick to my body for this one."

Notwithstanding magic or weird things like that, anyway.

Stepping back to get some proper distance for their match, Kazuko grins while settling into a proper combat stance. It's definitely one meant for easy movement than straight up defense, although the presence of training weights on her wrists and ankles are more visible now that her hands are actually up. "Alright, let's make this a good match!"

and the fight begins! Letting Yari come up to make the first move, Kazuko can practically sense that intent in the first attack, jerking herself sideways to avoid being taken out immediately. There's no question about it now, but raising a fuss here would just complicate things too much.

Instead, she'll let her fists do the talking, and she wastes little time in trying to counter the slash. She aims a quick palm strike at the ninja's chin and a standing sweep to the leg, trying to rattle her first and gauge where to go from there. Like Yari, she too doesn't move away after those first strikes!
Yari Takane Yari smiles again. "You'd be surprised. There's always someone stronger, Miss Kazuko. Your sister would do well to learn that. She'll probably die if she doesn't." Blunt, horrible advice.

Those training weights are spotted, and the ninja licks her lips. The girl is probably holding back. Yari long ago threw away that concept. She pays even closer attention to Wanko now.

Kazuko proves fast, even with those weights. Yari quickly leans back, barely dodging the strike to her chin. At the last second, she notes the sweeping kick. Unlike Momoyo, Kazuko seems more like herself. Swift and agile. Rather than try to dodge, she takes it on the shin, letting herself fall and then rolling back.

That knife is already chucked for Kazuko's forehead when Yari is rolling a bruise on her leg. Kazuko definitely isn't weak. And training weights /smart/.

"You certainly haven't neglected your training."

Yari makes handseals, and sucks in a breath. Cue a point-blank magical fireball aimed for Wanko's face. Yari Takane is not a nice person in a fight.

She's reasonably sure that Wanko won't die from that. Linne gives her mother an unamused look.
Kazuko Kawakami      "Is that...?" That was totally a threat! Gritting her teeth, Kazuko backs up as Yari does as well, and she's about to open her mouth for a retort when that knife comes flying at her. Even though it's not sharp, getting hit with it head-on would still smart a lot! Avoiding a direct hit, the knife still glances off the side of her head, drawing a pained yelp from the girl as she draws back further to regroup.

"Of course not. I'm going to become an assistant master, after all!" Announcing that proudly, Kazuko's once again on the defensive as Yari makes those handseals. She definitely doesn't recognize what those are for, but she does recognize the FREAKING FIREBALL being a very bad thing to get hit by! Throwing herself aside to avoid taking that, she takes a moment to pat out the end of her hair that's caught fire, then shoots Yari a dirty look before punching a hand into her fist.

"If that's how it's going to be.. Okay, then!" She moves in quickly after that, looking as if she's preparing to leap in with a flying kick, but slides instead!

"Kawakami Style: Sasori-uchi!" As she slides in, ki focuses in her fist as she aims a fast punch towards Yari's gut, augmenting the speed, power, and even reach of the blow with it!
Yari Takane Yari's head tilts for a moment. "Well. You certainly have the 'outgoing' qualification going for you. But do you have the strength and dedication to reach a goal like that?" There's no accusations. It's an honest question to the red haired girl.

Yari smiles a little at that dirty look. "When I said 'anything allowed', I meant it." Nod. Listen, little wanko-doge!

But then there's a flying kick that ends in a slice, and a fist. Yari's forced to draw a kunai, and block the incoming fist with the flat of the blade. Metal shatters at that ki-enhanced blow, and sends the ninja flying back in a pair of flips. Heels dig in to arrest her travel from such a powerful blow. She sighs.

"The Kawakami Style is definitely something to be wary of." There's respect in her voice.

And then, the ninja just seems to dissappear. Putting everything into speed, she's a blurr heading for Wanko in an erratic pattern, zig-zagging and leaping for her! She leaps upwards, spinning around, seemingly floating upside down in the air as she tries to use blinding speed to sneak up on Wanko, lashing out with her umbrella sword! This particular blade is blunted, but she's still aiming for the neck!
Kazuko Kawakami      Kazuko smirks. "Of course. This is the goal I've been working at for over ten years now!" She doesn't pay the question much mind, although she might just have to consider that sometime soon.

     Very soon.

"The Kawakami Style is the strongest martial arts style in the world. Don't forget that!" Even though Kazuko's boasting confidently, she still sounds respectful as well of the ninja's abilities. It's not something she's seen before, after all, even after spending a little less than a week in the multiverse at large.

In any other situation, she'd probably even be fawning over Yari. Alas, she's got a fight to focus on, and she gets back up quickly with her hands in that defensive stance again as the ninja.. Disappears? No, just moving insanely fast!

As Yari takes to the sky and comes back down with the blunted blade, Kazuko focuses her ki again while aiming a straight punch upwards to try and intercept the ninja's face. With the training weights on, however, her punch comes out a little too slowly and a little too late even with that infusion, and she cries out in pain at the direct hit. She wobbles a bit at first, then falls over while hissing and writhing on the ground from the force of the hit.
Yari Takane Yari considers Kazuko's boasting. One eye briefly closes. "'Strongest'? Is that because the style itself is strong, or because its practicioners are strong themselves? Dedication, or superiority of technique?" Further questions the ninja honestly.

A twist to the side dodges the last bit of a hard punch, and Yari lands in a slide as Kazuko falls. She seems to take a step, and then there's a blade to Kazuko's throat.

"Yield?"

Should she accept, away the blade goes, and her tail helps up Kazuko. She tilts her head.

"Strange. You're not weak. But your strikes lack dedication and follow through. I'm not certain if it's because you don't want to hurt others, or you do so subconsciously, but you're holding yourself back." States the ninja rather bluntly, audibly puzzled.
Kazuko Kawakami      As much as Kazuko would want to answer Yari, she's not quite in the state to do it just yet. She had taken that hit to the neck harder than she would hav eliked, after all, and it takes her a good half-minute of writhing in pain before she finally even manages a slow nod at the disguised Au Ra.

"Nngh... G-good, fight. Of course I've got-" She winces as she takes that offered tail and gets up into a crouch, rubbing the area of her collarbone where she had gotten hit before biting back another pained whimper. "..D-dedication! I I just need to get stronger so I can catch up with sis!" She actually laughs for a moment before whimpering again.

"Everyone else that's training in the Kawakami Style is strong, so I've gotta become stronger, too." Although she doesn't realize it herself, Yari's quite right about that. Even if she hadn't worn the training weights, her movements were sloppy for someone with her level of speed. "But I'll-ow -.. I'll win next time!"
Yari Takane The ninja considers, sighs, and offers a small smile. "Is that so? I will be seeing if that is true. Or whether your sister is simply a monster." A shrug. If necessary, she offers an arm to help up Wanko. She'll start escorting her away! Mostly towards the cafeteria.

"Still. Dedication is certainly necessary. Though I'd advise not overly fixating on your sister. You might have ways of becoming stronger that she doesn't. Work to your own advantages. If you emulate someone in all ways? You will make yourself weaker." Her words are thoughtful, and perhaps, spoken from experience.

"I will look forward to seeing you improve then. Come. At least you managed to make me put forth a bit of effort. Can I buy you something to eat?" Offers the ninja politely! Linh leans into the picture. Pout!

"And you too of course, Linh."

Linh gives a happy smile and latches onto Wanko to help her along!

"Miss Kazuko is strong too!" Linh praises.
Kazuko Kawakami      A monster? Momoyo? Kazuko actually laughs softly at that, being careful not to strain her neck too much while getting back up with Yari's assistance. She'll take it gladly, of course, although her stubbornness does keep her from relying completely on the ninja.

"She's the strongest, though. Well.. Maybe besides grandpa, but..." There's a low hum, then a thoughtful nod. "Maybe Master Lu, then...? Aah, but becoming an assistant master is all about focusing on my sister! I can help her become stronger than grandpa and everyone else that way." She smiles appreciatively at that concern, even if it sounds like she's trying to find ways around Yari's advice.

Of course, she's definitely not going to turn down free food. "Ehe... Sure! Come on, Linh. Let's see who can eat the most!"
Yari Takane Something about the way Kazuko talks has Yari frowning. Someone learning to teach by helping someone stronger than them? It doesn't sit right with the ninja, but she doesn't immediately call out Wanko on it. No, she simply offers a nod.

"Good luck. It's not a bad goal." Her voice still seems a bit thoughtful on the subject.

Linh leads the way! And soon enough, there's a pile of food for Wanko and Linh, already devouring away! Nomf nomf nomf!

"Show some table manners, Linh." The young girl slows down slightly. Yari eats at a more sedate pace.

"How did you come to the dojo anyway, Miss Kazuko. If you don't mind my asking."
Kazuko Kawakami      Even if Yari' someone Kazuko's supposed to be watching out for, she's finding it easier to relax around her as time passes. Is she loosening up, or is it something else? It's hard to tell, but being in the Academy rather than somewhere else probably helps a bit.

"Right? One day, I'll get as good as she is now, and I'll keep catching up from there!" Smiling broadly, she's not one to be too picky about her table manners. Like Linh, she's going at a rapid clip through her food! The more energy she takes in, the more she can spend on training later. The neck wound does keep her from eating as fast as she could normally, though, but... She'll get over it soon enough.

"Eh? I..." She looks at Yari with an inquisitive expression for a moment, but her gaze softens when she looks back down at Linh. "... I got adopted into the family. And then they gave me a test to become a student, and I passed. So... Here I am!"
Yari Takane "Manners, Miss Kazuko." Yari then offers to Wanko in turn! Peeer. Yari's not an expert yet, but she's slowly learning the 'Mom Stare'. Peeeeeer.

After picking through more rice, Yari pauses to sip her drink. So far Linh's in the lead, but Wanko is catching up to the young girl!

The ninja, and even Linh stop eating and share a look. Both bow their heads respectfully. "It's difficult. Not knowing your parents. Or..."

Linh gulps, holding back a sniffle. Yari pulls the girl against her side.

The young girl takes a breath, and manages a smile. "But Miss Kazuko is happy with her family that she found, right? Just like I found mommy."
Kazuko Kawakami      Kazuko actually flinches a bit at that, and her eating slows down to a more normal speed! "Wah... Y-yes, Miss Chiyo." Even that's super effective?!

What actually gets her to outright stop, however, is their show of sympathy towards her and Linh's shared parental experiences. Surely Yari herself couldn't be one as well, right? "Eh? Ahah.. It wasn't that hard. My birth parents left me in a hatch, and my first parents died when I Was young, so..."

Just how did the mood in this conversation change so drastically?! She holds in a breath when Linh sniffles, relaxing only after she finally smiles again. Kazuko herself smiles in return, reaching over to ruffle the younger girl's hair. "Mhm! Now I've got sis, everyone else at the temple, and the Kazama Family. And I've got a lot of friends here, too, so.. It's fine!"
Yari Takane 'Left in a hatch' has Yari shivering with the aura of ummistakable murderous rage. Her eyes darken, magic from her body becomes that much more wrathful, before a grip to her leg has her calming. Linh pets Yari's tail calmingly. That alone might answer Kazuko's question.

"That...explains much. Do your best, Kazuko Kawakami, to protect those closest to you. There's no more noble a goal. Be careful. You will no doubt find my dangers if you leave. And even if you don't, danger will find this place as well."

Linh, much happier, is quick to lean into the pets! She bonks her mother. "Don't be so gloomy mom!" Then, she picks up some meat on a stick, and tosses it at Wanko like she's a doggie! Yari's about to protest!

Surely Kazuko is in no way like a doggie!
Kazuko Kawakami      That brief moment of anger actually gets Kazuko to tense up somewhat, watching Yari cautiously and almost ready to get up before Linh calms her down. The sight of the 'student' being calmed down so easily by her daughter is actually somewhat reassuring, even.

"Right! Yeah, I'll be careful. I need to see more of everything if I really wanna catch up with everything sis has seen already." Always chasing her sister. It's almost like she has a one track-

MEAT that meat stick is caught right in Kazuko's mouth, snapping her head up to catch it with lightning-fast reflexes! She's munching on it happily as she settles back down into her seat, but there's also some tears tugging at the corners of her eyes.

She probably shouldn't have done that with the neck injury.
Yari Takane One eye closes, and Yari peers at Wanko. So eager. Will she survive the multiverse?

"Then I'll give you two pieces of advice. Be cautious when exploring new places. Someone like you...avoid getting entangled in any wars."

A shake of the head, and she's about to say more, when Wanko catches the meat stick! Yari looks confused. And is very pointedly trying to hold in a laugh.

Linh is far less subtle! "Yaaaay! Wan wan wan!" Wanko gets scritches!

Eventually, the two finish their meal, and both bow to Kazuko.

"Good luck in your endeavors, Miss Kazuko. I have a feeling we'll see each other again."
