Kari Wolf     Outside the gates of Neo Arcadia, trouble is brewing.
An orange dinosaur the size of a child with thin sky-blue tiger stripes is wandering towards the city walls, the radiation causing strange digital glitches in its form. It looks like it has been wandering the wastes for awhile and is likely in need of help.
Suddenly there's a horrendous screeching howl as a feral robot the size of a city bus makes its presence known. It is quadrupedal and resembles a mastiff, with unblinking red lenses for eyes and a long thrashing tail. The crushing jaws open and a barrage of buster cannon fire emerges, aimed at the small digimon.
Taro     Inside the gates of Neo Arcadia, the trouble has been noticed.
Operators at their terminals relay the results of sensor sweeps to the city's local guards, who dispatch drones to the side of the wall where the trouble's been detected. While not as common as it once was, this is a fairly routine occurance, generally not worth bothering the city's commanders over.
Except in this case, neither of the creatures on the scans match anything in their databases. That warrents greater attention. The second anomoly makes it obvious that a greater response is warrented.
There's a deep humming whirr as hatches built into the walls split open and retract, revealing Notably Large Cannons. Those cannons also hum deeply as they charge in perparation for firing.
Meanwhile, a flash of a transerver teleport delivers the city's resident Bishop Engineer (and his visitor, if Alden was so willing) to the top of the barrier wall, just outside the forcescreen and above the gates. Taro wasts no time in crouching to peer over the wall at the grounds below. "I have visual," he reports back over the radio. "Potential threat unknown, but one of them is obvious combat model."
<Understood, Your eminence. Ready to fire on your command,> the Operator relays back.
"Fire a warning shot. See if either are sentient enough to respond."
Alden      Alden is willing, he was never teleported before!. He seems a bit surprised as he instantly appears on the spot, looking for a few moments, before gazing down and noticing the source of the alarms. He blinks a few times, "Is that an Agumon?" he says softly, before looking up at Taro, "I think the small one is a digimon!, not sure how it got here tho." he muses, "Seems like it is in big trouble." he says loudly.

Unfortunately for Taro, and any well planned strategy, Alden notices teh big machine shooting at the small digimon, and decides 'screw it', and jumps to the rescue!. He slides one card on the reader, depicting a pair of white, glowing wings. "Digi modify!, flight!". He then jumps, praying the wings will actually work, and last enough to land safely near them. (They do, but he flails a bit as he nears teh ground)
Kari Wolf     The rogue warbot is quick enough that it reacts to the warning shots by leaping about, moving closer to Alden and the Agumon X. An aggressive design, it lands and sweeps its tail across the ruined ground where Alden and the other digimon are, turning its head to face Taro so it can unleash another pulse of weapons fire at the SHODANite bishop. The warning shots intended for the Agumon strike the reaver instead, sending a splash of molten alloy spattering across the ground and leaving a sear across the thing's carapace.
The agumon is startled by the appearance of a winged gabumon, but welcomes the help! It seems more lively and energetic with a fellow digimon around. "Wow! Good timing! Hey, after this, let's get some nice cool water!" And with that the agumon belches a fireball at the crazed robot thing, leaving some scorch marks and peeled paint but little else of note.
Taro     "You recognize that one?" Taro asks Alden, his eyes still on the pair below.
The chance for further conversation ends when his digimon visitor leaps from their perch to land below. "Wha..Hold Fire!" he snaps into his radio, but his orders come too late to stop the wall's cannons. Volleys of superheated plasma blast forth, those not hitting the reaver cratering the rocky ground around it and the two digimon.
With a quiet grunt of irritation, he draws and activates his beam saber with a snap-hiss, then drops off the side of the wall to follow Alden. the first volley of return fire from the giant canine drone misses him by scant centimeters, the second is parried with his blade, the third grazes his right shoulder. His armor's wings unfurl about halfway down, and he gngles his descent to try and land atop the drone that dared attack him.
After a moment, the blue and white biepdal drones move to follow, hitting the ground running as they land, firing their arm cannons. They're not exactly perfect shots, but they're intended for the canine rather than any of the digimon.
Alden      The gabumon's wings fade the very instant he touches the ground, which makes him glad the walls were not higher!. In any case, he nods a few times, "Sounds great!" he tells the agumon, "I'll get you some meat too." he happily, turning his attention to the rather large robotic creature. He decides there is no point pulling punches here, might as well hit the thing hard!.

While the robot mastiff recovers from the hits, he reaches for another card, sliding it through the reader, "Digi Modify, super evolution chip S!". The gabumon seems to 'explode' into voxels in a burst of light, quickly replaced with a far larger, and far more fuzzy creature, a large wolf!. "Careful Taro, going to hit it!" he warns, before he attacks "Ice cannon!" He someone growls those worlds, while openign his mouth wide and shooting a sizable ice projectile at closest leg of the reaverbot. It lands with a satisfying 'clang' noise, and a fair bit of force, easily denting it and pushing it aside, making the machine lose balance.
Kari Wolf     While the barrage of fire from the Pantheon drones does hit the mark and pelt the durable alloy hide of the robo-mastiff, they prove to be little more than an annoyance to the big machine. It opens its jaws again to fire back at the cheap copies, hitting and destroying one in ten at this range. Furiously it moves to try and shake Taro off as the reploid lands on its back, likely taking a beam sword stabbing (or two) for its troubles. And then Alden blasts it with a freezing cold projectile, the combination of sub-zero temperatures and the impact shattering the armor on the leg to expose the mechanisms underneath. With a thump it hits the dirt, the billowing dust briefly obscuring both the mastiff-reaver and Taro before the wind snatches it away. In response, the tail lashes out at Alden lightning quick.
The Agumon points with one wicked-looking claw at the thing's damaged leg. "Maybe if you hit the head with that!" THe little guy isn't really cowering per se, but he is being cautious since he's not in the best of shape! That being the case, he still belches out a few fireballs at the mechanoid monstrosity, aiming at the head.
Taro     Although not a true combat model himself, Taro is nimble enough to keep his balance even as the mastiff-bot tries to buck him off. He does in fact hack and slash with his beam saber, aiming where he'd expect a spinal bundle to be if it has one. His position atop the machine means he catches some of the edges of Alden's ice projectile, his armor riming with hoarfrost. Undeterred, he slashes twice more before kicking off into the sky again, so as to not be in the line of fire from Alden and their rescuee.
Meanwhile, those Pantheon drones caugt in the mastiff's line of fire sizzle as their armor is pierced, and those that don't outright explode fall to the ground like broken dolls. While they might be a match for smaller warmachines (or the average Resistance soldier), against this they're pretty underwhelming.
Alden      Alden yipes as the tail lashes at him, slamming his side as he jumps back. It seems painful, but not too dangerous. He looks at the small agumon and nods a few times, trying to mix things up a bit. He opens his maw, and begins with a different attack, "Fox fire!", opening his maw and releasing a focused stream of blue flames at the head of the fallen mastiff, heating it for several moments, only to suddenly close his jaws, take a short breath, and firing another large ice bullet at the head, "Ice bullet!"
Kari Wolf     The beam saber seems to do more damage than most of the other infantry-scale weapons Taro has seen strike the rogue 'bot, punching holes in the armored hide relatively easily. Whereas the arm cannon fire from the Pantheon drones seems to do very little.
Meanwhile, Alden has shattered the armor on the thing's head, exposing the sensors, powerful hydraulics for the jaws, and the emitter array for the thing's buster cannon. One of the baleful red eyes has shattered as well.
The thing rolls sideways from being prone and leaps upwards, the armored slabs making up the thing's lower jaw snapping at Taro before it lands with a bone-rattling impact.
"Whoo! Looks like it's on the ropes!" The agumon seems to have realized that he can't do much other than cheer his rescuers on at this point, though he'll certainly stick around to help them if he can.
Taro     Taro lands again, this time on the rocky ground in front and off to one side of the fallen mastiff-bot, to be within striking range while trying to not put himself in the others' immediate line of fire. He brings his saber up to unleash what he intends to be the finishing blow. But the machine is not quite through yet, and he's forced to bring up his opposing arm to ward off its snapping maw. His right gauntlet crunches under the force, and he's jerked forward before he can pull himself back and out of its grasp as its head drops once again.
With a snarl of annoyance, the android draws his damaged right arm back while slashing out with his saber in a smaller arc at the machine's head than he originally planned. If that doesn't end this, then hopefully Alden's next strike will.
Alden      Alden decides to just help Taro finish this, giving the agumon a friendly bark, before he charges at the massive wolf!. He jumps and attemps to slam at the thing's head with all his weight, he is tempted to scream something like 'body blow' (actual attack name) but feels silly, trying to push the thing's head away from biting Taro, and if he can keep holding to it, leans to bite at the sensors and exposed bits of metal, blasting them point blank with fire (biting electric stuff, smart!).
Kari Wolf     The reaver is stunned by Taro's beam saber cutting a swath through its more delicate sensors and power feeds in the head, and pauses in its onslaught for a moment. The machinery is not dissimilar in design to what Neo Arcadia uses, but different enough that it constitutes something new. Some piece of technology that unified from an alternate Neo Arcadia, perhaps?
Alden's body slam finishes the job as the stunned machine is unable to react in time to dodge. The head snaps off with the squeal of tormented metal and is sent flying by the force of the blow. Little mechanisms and shards of alloy scatter across the ground as the thing is taken down.
Taro     Taro grunts again, this time in satisfaction as the mastiff-drone falls silent, and with another snap-hiss he deactivates his 'saber. He glances down at his other arm for a quick inspection, then looks over his shoulder at the others. "How badly are you hurt?"
The remaining Pantheons have stopped firing - not that they had been more than a nuisance in this fight - and move to circle the fallen war machine. A precaution, just in case there are other surprises.
Alden      Alden can't help btu let out a short victory howl as the head is destroyed and the machine seems to be defeated, spitting bits of metal in his maw, and padding to check on the Agumon, "I'm fine." he tells Taro, his tail wagging, even as he moves to sniff at the reptile digimon, "Are you ok?" he asks happily.
Kari Wolf     The agumon smells... different? There's a weird cast to this one, different in subtle ways from a 'normal' agumon. Blue stripes aren't normally a thing agumon have, for example. "Yeah! I'm okay... could use some water and food though! These badlands are really awful!"
The dinosaur-like digimon glances at the Pantheon drones, Taro, and Alden. "Oh... Uh, my name's Hiryu."
Taro     "So they are." Taro's gaze shifts back to the fallen machine as he finally answers the Operator begging for his attention. "I'm fine. Minor injuries only. Send a salvage team to my present location."
< Thank the CyberGoddess! A salvage team will be there shortly. >
That done, the android turns his attention back to his guest and the new visitor. Honestly, he knows so little of digimon he has no idea that Hiryu is any different. "Taro Daisho. Welcome to Neo Arcadia." With a hint of amusement, "The first among many at this point."
Alden      Alden noses at the odd gabumon, cold dog nose on the shoulder!, "I'm glad." he barks happily, smiling broadly, before he blinks and realizes he was still a garurumon, 'reverting' in a flsh of light, and reaching to pat the reptile's back. "I'm Alden, nice to meet you Hiryu." he says softly.
