Nima Kairn     So, what /did/ exactly happen when a Sith apprentice, a catboy, a witch, a shifter, and a Digimon all walked into the same bar? Well, now's the time to find out.

The door opens to admit Nima Kairn, covered up in a black cloak and hood that she keeps on while looking around. It doesn't seem to be particularly dangerous here, which is nice. Without any forseeable danger, she slips off her hood and folds her hands calmly at her stomach until they're ready to seat her. She takes one of the corner booths that one can see the exit and entrances from--paranoid, yes, but who wasn't--and makes an order at random from the menu. Something about burgers.

So while she waits, she eases back in her seat and looks around slowly while playing around with the lekku dangling from her head idly. It seems pretty empty right now, but maybe someone interesting will decide to visit today.

Learning more about this Multiverse and those who inhabited it was a valuable effort, despite what some in the Empire might say.
Alden      A few moments later, a small digimon decided to walk inside, apparently sharing Nima's opinion about the potential of exploring the multiverse!. That and he heard it was a good spot to eat burgers!. In any event, the small creature walks inside and spends a few seconds looking around, meeting any curious glances with a smile, while his lizardish tail wagged. He waits to be seated, not in a rush, and he picks a booth close to Nima, not so much paranoid as he was simply curious.
Inga Freyjasdottir For once, Inga actually meant to come here. That's new and different. Usually, she just walks through a doorway while perhaps contemplating a steak and BAM, she's here. This time, she did it on purpose, which is why she walks in looking almost smug. "Hah! I triumph this time!" she says, clicking her staff on the floor a few times, thoughtful. What sort of thing would she run into tonight, she wonders. If nothing else, she'll at least get that steak.

The woman removes her cloak, folding it neatly on a chair near the table she picks. Beneath, she wears her good red dress over a linen shift, pinned with silver broaches, her mjolnir pendant hanging from her neck. And those are most certainly finger bones hanging from her belt, along with what appears to be bird skulls on a string. Talismans, you know.
Eclipse      The door swings open again, and Eclipse steps inside, looking about and sniffing the air. "This is... not the building I entered," she observes. She looks suspicious for a bit, but seems to conclude that there are no threats, and finds a seat for herself, also near Nima. Eventually a waiter approaches for her order. "Something with meat in it!" she declares, not looking anywhere near the menu. A suggestion is made that she could have a burger as well, while they were being made, which she agreed with. She preferred hunting for her food, but she wasn't toally averse to buying it- she had the gold for it.
Staren     Staren was there, too.

Walking in from the warpgate area, he stops briefly as he sees to his surprise how unusually empty it is. Which only makes the people draw the eye more... A digimon, that sith lady (he looks away immediately after the flash of recognition, hoping she didn't see it) and... Inga! "Hey! Fancy running into you here..." he smiles and waves a little.

Also, some kind of tribal girl. His ears flick and he leans in her direction, "I reccomend the seafood." he advises.

Inga is the one he's on most friendly terms with, so he approaches her for now. "How have things been going for you? It's been some time since we last met..."
Inga Freyjasdottir Inga, amused, looks to Eclipse a moment. She smiles. "Yes, that happens to me all the time. Disconcerting isn't it?" she comments.

Then Inga turns to Staren. She has no idea he's trying not to draw the attention of the woman at the booth. "Staren!" she rounds on him, reaching over to give him a one-armed hug of greeting. "Indeed, I'm especially pleased that I actually intended to come here this time," she adds, motioning for him to sit with her at her table. "Things have been well enough I suppose. Quiet, mostly. Winter is long and dark," she sighs. "And yourself? Union been keeping you busy I expect?" she asks.

Inga also recognizes Alden, to whom she waves. "Ah, hello again Alden," she greets.
Alden      Alden was more impressed than surprised when the door he walked through led to this place, but upon hearing others talk about ending in the bar/grill randomly, it just makes him curious!. He watches the new arrivals, smiling and even waving should someone offer a greeting, waiting for his burger, before Inga greets him!. That is enough to cause him to get up and move closer towards her. Of course, he offers Staren a wave a well, "Hi Inga!"
Nima Kairn     Suddenly, it seemed like every table on this particular side of the restaurant is becoming filled by new and strange figures. Nima's eyes catch on Alden first and remain for a few moments, her head tilted curiously. She's seen many races and species, but not many like him. Of course, her attention is divided by the others who enter... Primitives, it seems. Even a young man with feline ears... One who had looked at her strangely and looked away.

A smile slowly comes to her face as she runs her fingers along her right lekku.

Might as well go for it. "Greetings, friends," Nima says easily as she leans back, completely at ease. "You may not be looking for company--but if you are, you are welcome to sit with me and discuss this Multiverse. I would even offer to pay for your meals in return."

She might very well have a hidden purpose for this, but her hands are visible and she doesn't seem to be putting out any aura of threat. Besides, guys, free food! That's what everyone wants, right?
Eclipse      Eclipse looks a bit curiously at Staren. He has some cat features, but he's not a razorclaw shifter. Still, she wondered if his species was much like her own. Of course, the feline was suggesting seafood. Perhaps if she were using her guardian form of the Relentless Panther, it might taste better. Eventually, Nima speaks up and offers some company. "I would like that," Eclipse answers. "There is still much I do not know." She stands and moves closer to Nima.
Staren     Staren smiles and chuckles softly when Inga mentions she came here on purpose, and takes a seat by her. It's not so much that he's trying to avoid Nima's attention completely, as he didn't want her to see that he /recognized/ her.

He shrugs at the question, then tilts his head to indicate Alden. "You know him? ...Actually, not so much lately. I haven't gone on a mission for the Union in..." He stares into space for a moment. "...has it really been almost a month? Wow. It's been a quiet week, especially. Although I did happen to be visiting Remnant when some of those White Fang terrorists showed up... but we were able to talk them down... Although in truth, most of them left once they realized that fellow Faunus were protecting the human they planned to attack. So it seems they were not that strongly committed to their cause in the first place." He slumps back in his chair, then sits up and flags down a passing waiter. "Fish and chips, please."

And... The Sith Lord^H^H^H^HApprentice is offering... "You want to give people free food in exchange for talking?" Staren gives her a skeptical look. "Well, I do like to talk... but I guess you already knew that."
Inga Freyjasdottir "Good to see you again," she says to Alden.

Inga looks over toward the womana at the booth, raising an eyebrow. "You need not pay for my company, though it is generous of you to offer," she replies, smiling. While she does smile, those dark eyes are keen and cautious.

"Well, if you all have questions, Staren is a good person to speak with. I'm not nearly as familiar as he," she explains. She's only been here for what, a bit more than a year?

Inga smiles to Staren. "Mm...it has been some time since I've helped with anything it seems. It is very difficult to keep track of everything that is happening, all the different groups and to which side they belong," she sighs.

Well, if they are moving, Inga does so. First, she'll introduce herself. "Inga Freyjasdottir, wisewoman," she greets.
Alden      Alden is curious about the others as well, meeting the curious glances with a grin, before focusing on Inga, "How have you been?" he tells Inga, before listening to the conversation. Seems there were many places full of danger. He decides to join the others when he hears the invitation, "Well, I can't tell you much besides information about my home world, I don't really kno wmuch about other places."
Nima Kairn     There's one. Eclipse coming over brings an encouraging smile to the twi'lek's pretty face, one that she shares with the rest of the group, including Staren. From the look on her face, it seemed like she couldn't tell that there was anything strange in the slightest. So maybe Staren has some breathing room?

Nobody's really introduced themselves, only said other people's names, so Nima decides to be the polite one. "I am Nima Kairn, apprentice to Darth Zash. It is a pleasure." Her food comes along--a buffalo burger with fries and a soda. THe Sith looks over all these strange implements with a raised brow until she actually decides to try some fries. "... Hm. Not so bad," she admits.

Looking up to Staren and Inga, the easy smile comes back. "I am very curious about the Multiverse at large, as anyone should be. Even the smallest amount of information is facinating to me. Paying some credits in return for education is hardly a great sacrifice, is it?" Alden and Eclipse seem to be buying, which is nice, so she'll focus on them right now. "Perhaps you can tell me of your homes and lives. Such is still an education."
Eclipse      It seemed that introductions were going around, so the shifter might as well join in with them. "I am Eclipse, warden of the Den-of-Oaks clan," she stated. "I travel the multiverse, defending nature and those in need of protection." She receives her burger shortly after Nima, and her explanation is interrupted as she immediately starts eating. She seems to approve.
Inga Freyjasdottir Inga nods to Nima. "A pleasure to meet you Nima Kairn. I have never heard of this Darth Zash. What is your ah, profession?" Inga asks, innocently. She's clueless to the context here.

A steak arrives for Inga, medium rare. Side of mashed potatos. It looks delicious.

"Well...let me not be first," she comments, glancing around the table. She has a steak to eat, she doesn't want to get into her world just now. Its so...so complicated.

Inga nods to Eclipse. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Eclipse. What an interesting name. Den of Oaks clan? I do like the sound of that," Inga says thoughtfully.
Staren     Staren smiles slightly at the praise, and gives Nima a suspicious look. Surely she recognizes his voice by now. He moves to a seat across from her. "I'm Staren, researcher of problems for the Union, and I'm from the Free City of Lazlo, where all species of intelligent beings are welcome." It's all publicly available information, so he sees no problem in sharing it. "It was like many other Earths until the end of the 21st century AD, when the magic came back, natural disasters wracked the planet, and aliens and demons came out of the rifts. Now it's over 300 years later, and so there are places where some level of civilization has been restored, like Lazlo... but nothing close to the scale of, say, the USA."

He looks Nima over. "What about you, how would you describe your world and your place in it?"
Alden      Alden realizes he did not offer an introduction, and bows a little bit, smiling back as he approached Nima's table, "I'm Alden, a digimon, a gabumon to be precise." he says, figuring any bit helps. "For now I am roaming, learning of the multiverse, trying to get stronger, make friends ad help people." he says casually, ignoring his own burger, taking the chance to explain a bit while the others eat. He tries to be concise, giving the usual 'digimons are made of data, live in an alternate world connected to the earth's computers, which seems pretty close to the year 2k, and some info of his earth's state. He also comments on the digital world, the 'levels', and the 'goverment/leadership of the 4 sovereigns and the 13 devas. All in all, does not seem like a lot of info. He also listens to Staren's story and blinks, tempted to ask a few questions about it.
Eclipse      After finishing the burger, Eclipse grins jagged-toothedly at Inga's mention of her name. "I am the moon that shields the world from even the harsh flames of the sun," she says. "My people inhabit a great forest. There are cities and towns in my world as well, but much of it is a vast wilderness full of dangers... much like yours, it seems," she adds to Staren after he makes his introduction. "But we are descendants of werewolves. That makes us strong hunters," she adds proudly. She seems thoroughly confused by much of what Alden says about his own world. Advanced technology is hard to get her head around- it took a lot of instructions just to learn how to use a radio.
Nima Kairn     Nima's first impressions of Eclipse seem to be correct; lilely from a primative planet where such things as Nature were worshipped, and sentients still made their associations via clans. Not so different from Ryloth in the past, and many other planets she knows of now. "Defending nature and those in need is quite a lofty goal." She pauses, tapping a finger to her lips. "Tell me, was your clan's first homeland a forest? It would fit your naming conventions."

Inga's questions about Nima's profession gets a small smile and a tiny wave-off. She'll of course talk about herself, it'd only be fair. That said, the others seemed interested in talking about themselves first.

Of course Nima remembers hearing Staren. She's remembered from the first moment he starte dpseaking. What she was more curious about was why he'd looked at her and looked away as if he'd seen her before. But she doesn't voice her questions for now, instead nodding along as the catman explains Lazlo and his Earth. "It's strange to me that there are so many Earths in existance. There must be something intrinsically powerful in Earth that it would have so many different iterations and differences."

Same with Alden, too. Another Earth. His is... very different from the other ones that she's heard of, though. Her eyes narrow as she folds her hands in front of her mouth. Her head tilts slightly. "How curious... life forms spawned from information, from computers. Such is impossible in my galaxy, so far as I'm aware. I wonder how much computing power would be necessary to create such a world..."

So, here's where she'll talk about herself. "I don't have a 'world', per say. I have the Empire." She motions to Inga. "you asked my profession--I am of the Sith, the order of FOrce-users in my galaxy that control and command the Sith Empire. that said, I am merely an apprentice, for now. My place is doing all I can to bring the Empire's promise of greatness into reality through whatever means are necessary... including introducing a little sanity to the mix."
Inga Freyjasdottir "My world...well, as it is now? I do not know all that much about it. I do not even spend much of my time there, as most of it is...unfamiliar at best and horrifying at worst. The world as I knew it no long...exists, I suppose. Unless I can travel backward again which I have yet to see any evidence that I might be able to do. I was chosen by...and entity. Brought through time some 1200 years," she explains. She doesn't really wish to go into it more than that, and makes that plain by her expression.

Inga looks to Eclipse again, nodding. "I would like to see this great forest. Not enough forests in many of these worlds," she says, shaking her head slightly.

While chewing her steak, Inga contemplates Nima's answer. "Force-user. I have heard this spoken of on the radio. It is like magic?" she asks. She ignores the part about 'by whatever means necessary' though she does tuck this away in her mind as an important observation. Best to focus on other things. Being who she is, she's more interested in this Force business anyway.

"It is strange, isn't it? How many Earth's there are. I am from such a place myself, though we did not call it such," she offers with a small shrug.
Staren     Staren takes in ALden's explanation. Noone's really told him how the Digimon world works before, or at least, this much detail about it.

Staren expects he shouldn't talk to Eclipse much, but when she compares her world to his, he speaks up, "You say you're a defender of nature, but then you say the wilderness is full of dangers... why protect that wilderness, then?"

To Nima: "We also see quite a lot of worlds where humans, or at least human-oids, are the dominant species. Personally, I suspect that whatever process causes worlds to unify is deliberately favoring such worlds for reasons unknown to us -- or, at least, it is causing such worlds to unify /here/ in the area we call Sector 0. There's plenty more Multiverse out there... perhaps there's a sector where worlds like the moon are common, populated by some manner of intelligent rabbit." He shrugs.

Staren blinks at Inga. "You didn't call it Earth? What did you call it?"
Eclipse      "Animals struggle to survive, and that sometimes brings them into conflict with people," Eclipse says to Staren as he questions her. "Similarly, people may hunt animals for food. That is the way of things, and while it may lead to untimely deaths, it is not our place to change it. But of course, some of the danger I speak of comes from beings who would disrupt the natural order. The undead, for instance. Things like that must be stopped."
Alden      The gabumon rubs the back of his head, "All I know about... how digimon started, is taht it all began as a project for AI made from some really smart humans, they ended up cancelling the project, and thought that it eventually stopped working, but instead it ended up evolving into us." he says softly, his tail giving a flick. He listens with interest as the others explain things, doing his best to remember what was said. The mention of other worlds and force, and the empire and galaxy make him open his eyes a bit wide.

. Staren's mention of the unifying process makes him tilt his head, intrigued, "I guess that might explain why so many earths are connected." he says, and takes a bite of his burger.
Nima Kairn     Nima takes a quick break to actually try out her burger as she listens again. She gingerly takes up her burger and bites down... the tastes are extremely different from what she had known before, but it's still quite satisfying. She'd have to remember this. After a couple more bites, she washes her food down with a sip of her soda before talking again.

"The Force... it isn't dissimilar to what I have heard described as 'magic', yes. Many people in my galaxy still think it is. In truth, the Force is the energy of all life in my galaxy, and the emotions experienced by life. Anger, joy, pain, fear, love, and many others are all reflected by it, to be used by those who are sensitive to it." Nima gives Inga a small smile. "There's more, of course, but much of that is entwined with philosohpy and belief, which isn't quite dinner conversation."

Staren's ideas are given a moment of thought. "You are correct that humans tend to be a rather dominant species... it's the same for my galaxy. But Earth in particular... there has to be a specific reason for that one planet to appear out of the million-billions that exist."

Eclipse... well, she really was primitive. What would happen if she were to be taken into space, Nima wonders? Taken on a ship and shown that her world was a tiny dot in the infinite vastness of space. "While admirable, you should perhaps look into expanding your horizons beyond such simplicity, miss Eclipse. The world has changed drastically around you, after all."

Artificial intelligence is something that Nima's galaxy has never truly experienced, and it's clear by the impressed look on Nima's face. "Digital evolution, as well! I truly must look into the world you describe, mister Alden. I'm not particularly skilled in computer systems, but even so..."4
Staren     Staren shrugs at Eclipse's comment about the natural order, and doesn't say more.

    More about Digimon! Interesting.

Staren strokes his chin. "Hmm... energy of life and emotions... You could be onto something there. Perhaps such power attracts unification, and there's something about Earth and its humans that makes it a good source of some sort of power..."
Inga Freyjasdottir "Midgard," she informs Staren.

As for whatever arguement might happen between Staren and Eclipse, Inga obviously wants no part it in. So, how about that force stuff eh!?

Ah, but there it is. Inga gets a whiff of that condescending attitude aimed toward Eclipse. Inga is often the recipient of such an attitude herself. But Inga remains civil. She smiles. "Truly, it is a bit silly to think of nature as simple. Nature is startlingly complex and the knowledge of it is not to be downplayed," Inga replies.

Her steak is gone, and the sides too. Inga, for her petite size, has a hearty appetite. "Well, this has been pleasant, but I must get home," Inga says, standing to excuse herself.
Eclipse      Eclipse sounds interested in the concept of the Force. "Then, your power also comes from nature. ...Though, in a different way than mine," she observes. "The power of emotions... it's very different from sending vines from my sword to grasp enemies," she notes. "And I have been traveling beyond my world," she adds insistently. "I have seen many places, but I am aware that there is much more to be seen."
Alden      Alden rubs the side of his head, "Well, I know htere are several digital worlds... I met a couple digimons, perhaps you can find someone able to give you a good look... the portal to my home, at least the one I know of... is in a risky area." he says softly. He tilts his head to Eclipse and Nima's words, but before he can open his door to make a question, a sound not unlike the alarm clock on a cellphone starts to come from a device he was carrying. "Oh right, I should return to Crystal Valley." he says softly, rubbing the back of his head, "Sorry for leaving so suddenly, but had to do some other stuff I almost forgot about!" he says quickly, getting from his seat. "I hope we can talk more soon." he offers, before bowing and making his way to the exit, hoping it will lead him to a good place.
Nima Kairn     And then there were three. Inga and Alden make their farewells and leave, and Nima responds to both with a smile and a nod, followed by a simple, "It was a pleasure." Afterwards she returns to eating her food for several minutes, making small yummy noises until she washes everything down.

To Eclipse, the twi'lek chuckles lightly and shrugs. "I suppose you are correct, but you'll likely find more in common with the Jedi than with me... or perhaps not. They shut themselves off from emotion, embracing pure 'harmony'." Her tone makes it clear what she thinks of such a thing. "Forgive me, I did not mean to insult you. Perhaps it is the fact that nature is so different between so many planets."

And, now that she's gotten Staren mostly on his own, the Sith leans forward slightly. "So, young Staren. your theories are interesting, but I have another question for you... you have seen me before, haven't you? Before you answer, do remember--I am very observant, and very good at discovering lies."
Staren     Staren's fish and chips arrive, and he begins to eat, looking back at Nima and chewing as she leans in to question him. He chews for a bit, then finally swallows. "One of the mercenaries who fought that day is a friend of mine. She is a cyborg, and so her eyes record everything she sees." He waves a hand slightly. "As you know, I was interested both in this 'Mega Man''s appearance there, as well as whether my allies were going to get in some legal trouble. So yes, I have seen you before." He's hiding something, but that's all true.
Eclipse      Eclipse considers this. "Harmony is a good thing... but I find that emotion is useful as well. The ferocity of my ancestors still lives within me, after all." She pats her sword with a cryptic grin as she mentions this.
Nima Kairn     That simple, huh. Nima's expression doesn't change as Staren describes how he's seen her, but she's not really buying it. As a Sith, she knows that the best way to hide a lie is to mix it in with enough truth to make it seem plausible. If it were up to her she might've just started trying to dig around in his mind to find the answers. But... they were in a place where such antics would not be appreciated. "I see. Then perhaps you could tell your friend to kindly stay out of the Empire's space from here on in."

Most of her food was finished, so Nima goes to her feet as she addresses Eclipse. "Everything in life is useful so long as it's not used to the exclusion of all others. True balance... But I'm just an apprentice, so I'd know nothing about that." She grins and winks, then brushes her cloak aside to show her inactive saberstaff. Got your back, girl.

She also takes this time to pull out several golden rectangles from her pocket and set them on the table. "For our meals. I believe we shall meet again."
Staren     Staren just gives Nima a vaguely questioning look. Who has any say in where mercenaries are allowed to go, as long as someone's hiring them? But talking to her further on this matter just risks letting on that he was there, so he doesn't. "Yeah, probably." He replies to her parting words.

He looks at the rectangles on the table, then at Eclipse. Before stuffing more food in his mouth, he asks, "So, I don't believe we should discuss philosophy, but if you have any further questions about the Multiverse, I'm happy to help you learn what I can."
Eclipse      Eclipse nods before standing. "I would certainly like to meet you again. And don't worry... I do not tend to talk much of philosophy anyway. That would be more my mother's line of work."
Staren     Staren shrugs, but if Eclipse isn't volunteering more information or asking more questions, he won't pester her at this time. "Seeya around, then." He waves, and remains sitting to finish his fish and chips alone.
