Karian Icefang     It had finally come to this. This long war of attrition with a fleet of tyranids trying to devour and grow from a splinter fleet into something far worse. From the start, the Space Wolves, Imperial Guard, and heroes of the Multiverse held the line, and seriously bled the tyranid force of it's biomass. The Hive Mind of the fleet sensed that this would be the final battle, and shifted it's attack to the port city of Crispus. This city, at least, had a governer that both gave a damn about his people, AND wasn't in fact a member of the genestealer cult. The first city was saved, and the governer deposed and destroyed. But here, the civilians were evacuated three days prior. This allowed the Space Wolves and Imperial Guard forces to dig in. Traps, hidden Basilisk artillary locations, ambush forces, even hidden tanks were deployed. The soldiers of the Imperium would NOT fall this day. They would hold the line here and now.
Karian stood at the forward defensive emplacement, surrounded by his wolfguard. He knew the stakes well, and prepared accordingly. Wearing his ancient and powerful Terminator Armor, He watched at the tyranids began to make their charge. "We all know the stakes here. I won't bore any of you with speeches. I won't lie to you, either. Many of us are not likely to see the next dawn. But what I will tell you is this. We have hurt this Hive Fleet. We have pushed them into this desperate attack. We, the soldiers of the God-Emperor, Space Marines and Imperial Guard together, have wounded this fleet! If we do die here, do so with pride. If we must, we will go to our graves proud of our deeds, and we will make this fleet fear the Imperium of Man and the Multiverse at large! We fight for Russ, the Allfather, and all that we hold dear!" He shouts to his soldiers. But then, he speaks again. This time, he gives a prayer he recently heard in the Multiverse, one that his wolfguard begin, and is slowly recited by the guard until all voices raise it to the skies. "Lo, There do I see my Father. Lo, There do I see my Mother, and my brothers and my sisters. Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me...they bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla. Where thine enemies have been vanquished, Where the brave shall live Forever. Nor shall we mourn, but rejoice for those that have died the glorious death."
Shigure     "None shall enter the great halls if we have anything to say on the matter." comes a firm, soft voice over VOX comms. "Super Dreadnaught Battleship, Yamashiro, and the Fifth Strike Force Fleet, entering battlezone in ten minutes. You do not fight alone." Long range radar would pick up five surface contacts at extreme range, making best speed towards the coming tide of Tyranids on land. One massive signature, a slightly smaller one, with three even smaller surrounding them both.

"Kuma! We will bury them in Sanshiki and High Explosives, kuma!" "Mmn, leave clearing the skies to me. Destroyer Shigure, Heading out." "Observer to observed, the crushing hand gathers the flame. The striking hand ignites the path. Victory is the Light. Destoryer, Nowaki. Heading out." "Uhhuhuhu~ I'll treat you all to a drink after we're done. Seaplane Tender, Chitose. Heading out. Zuiun, go~."

The first sight of the approaching naval force, are actually full-size Zuiun floatplanes. They're heard first, piston engines buzzing, drowning out the growls of the Tyranids below, as they angle down to unload their bombs into the front lines, strafing with machine guns before breaking off.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead gulps as she stands there and looks at all the ..... armor and blinks, "What the hell is this?" she says in her Scottish accent as she looks at these hulking people, "I must be a fish out of water," she adds as she loosk for those here she may know and right now since this is completely new to her. Looking over as the leader speaks, she listens, "I do not plan on dying here on this.... planet of ice," she adds as she thinks.

The green ring on her finger glows as green energy bathes her left arm as her cloths phase out and they are replaced with armor. Armor plating covers her shoulders, stopping a few inches above her breast, as similar armor wraps around and attaches below her breast. Armored legs phase in over her legs, and increasing her height by a two feet while a crown forms on the top of her head, with a glowing blew gem set in the middle and one on each side over her ears. the back of the crown has four metal feathers that come out of it, two to the left and two more to the right and stop below her shoulder blades, offering protection to the back of her head. a foot or so off to the side and behind her shoulder are a set of wings that appear, attached to two box like items and do not move. A shield forms ont he left forarm, while her arms and hands remain bare.

A small screen appears before Mairead, tot he left hand side and only she can see it as there are a set of numbers in cyan that reads (500). Other smaller screens pop up and then close as she looks at each with her eyes. Looking, Mairead readies herself for the fight and after the spar the night before where she got beaten, and the fight agaisnt Nima where she got hurt, both physically and psychology. Seeing Kuma, she walks over to her and nods, "I am ready Kuma," she says to the Fleet Daughter and is glad someone form Hikari is here.
Yuna Kagurazaka Next to the bulk of the armored Space Wolves, Yuna is probably the next best thing to invisible, given her petite stature. That doesn't stop her from being here, though; she may not have been around as much to help fight the Tyranids as she'd like to, but Karian put the call out and she's certainly here *now* - and the full Matrix of Light is with her: the little robo-faerie Elner, already taking the measure of the battlefield with its sensors, and all three of Yuna's 'partner' androids, Erina, Jiina, and Marina, all in their armored combat forms - there's no point in looking like humans or civilians right now.

Yuna smiles a bit at Yamashiro's words over the radio, glad to hear the Fifth Fleet on its way. "We'll keep as many of our people alive as possible," Yuna says to Karian and the others. "Space Wolves, fellow Elites, and civilians alike - the Tyranids won't take a single life if I have anything to say about it."
Rebecca Chambers     Locked and loaded and ready to rock and roll! That's the mindset Rebecca's got right now! Things are at a critical point, and failure is NOT an option at all! Nor does Rebecca even intend to think about failure. She's suited up for combat, and even has a specially built assault rifle made for her small stature that's easy to use but still packs a powerful punch! She's also brought plenty of ammo for both that and her Magnum as well.

Not long after the arrival of the others, Rebecca is seen too, and she's truly in the mindset of a soldier! She's rushed in with her rifle at the ready, spinning it around with the laser sight on, ready to take on any Tyranid that gets too close to her or any of her allies for that matter. "We're not here to fight!" Rebecca calls out to her allies. "We're here to SUCCEED!"
Kirito     Kirito would say, he is totally glad to find a city where the people were evacuated PRIOR. And the governor gives a damn. With all the awful stuff that seems to be happening in Karian's world - extremist beliefs, rampant xenophobia, and at least THREE /COMPLETELY/ intolerably conquering species for just the tip of the iceberg - it is a welcome sight. A problem that can be solved by just, well.

Beating the shit out of the bad things and not having to worry about civilians getting caught in the crossfire.

The boy in black has (perhaps wisely) chosen to avoid getting too involved in Karian's world, but when allies call for help...

He tries desperately to hide the grimacey face that's brought out by Karian's insanely grim speech.

"If it's all the same to you," He murmurs, drawing a blade and pointing it towards what will soon be the battle lines, "I'm not about to let anyone die." The boy gulps. It'sa lie. He knows that to be a lie.

And it's pretty obvious that he knows this to be a lie.

He can't hope to save everyone here. If he can save any of these warriors, and this planet... it's by taking some of the heat off of them and cutting down their enemies.

He just looks way too young to be out here. And next to the Space Marines... Kirito's pretty tiny. A young, slim... elven boy? Dressed all in black. Wielding a pair of swords. They're not even CHAINSWORDS or anything. Just swords made of unusual materials.

And he's no doubt utterly terrified inside. What's about to happen will be bloodier than he could TRY to imagine. And he knows it.

If nothing else, this boy is mentally older and wiser than he has any right to be.
Alexis Maaka     For a bunch of Theocratic Space Fascists, the Imperium pays WELL. It's enough to convince Alexis Maaka of all people to come back for this. She's seated and going over a railgun, her EM-GASH rifle customized into a configuration that'll provide the most bang for her buck. It's basically a railgun sniper rifle crossed with an anti-materiel weapon that'd make the Tau jealous.

"Let's get this over with." She growls, before she goes off to get some last-minute defenses. Autoguns, landmines, tripwires, she's THOROUGH in how she sets everything up, working with the Wolves in the best places to set up surprises while there's time.

WHen she's set her last bouncing betty, she begins to climb up onto a rooftop with her coilgun in hand. "Here we go..."
Alden      Alden is really feeling a bit out of depth here, between the space marines, and the weaponry. And knowing that a huge wave of those bugs was approaching did not help him either. Still, he promised to Karian to do his best to help, and by the sovereigns, he was going to try his best. He was tiny, even amongst the non marines, but tried his best to not show his nervousness.

Now and then, he can be seen looking around, searching for other familiar faces, and smiles as he spots Kirito, and decides to approach him, glad to see him. While he walked closer, he decides that there is no point holding back, reaching for his D-Arc, and sliding what looks like a card from some random TCG game on the reader. A moment afterwards, he seems to 'explode' in a burst of light, only to reform in a more impressive shape, a tall (almost as tall as a Space marine), bipedal wolf. The wolf finally stands near Kirito, smiling nervously, "Hey Kirito." he barks. Of course, he never showed Kirito this form, but hopes the similar voice at least hints who he might be.
Maya Maya Was here and ready she'd fought the Tyranids before, and one of their cults in the past. She understood the horror of these things, she knre the Confeds or Union could stop them. It was more of a question of how many other poeople got ground up before that happend. She listens to the speech, the soldiers know what it is, and she's muttering a short prayer in Elder Septerran as well. Tot hsoe from Earth it might sound a lot like Babyloian.

Maya's armed and ready, Runner is here and armed to the teeth thanks to some last moment addtions by Grubb.

"I also have as much anti toxin s I can carry.

"Kirito given your skills you'll need to take point and get the Tyranids attention."

Maya's also got her bolter as well and sesm ready.
Cirra Constantine     Tyranids. A Terriffying lifeform from beyond the edge of the galaxy. Cirra had long since stopped openly comparing everything to The Enemy; Chaos. But she has begun to wonder if the Multiverse has some concept of a putrid, all devouring evil. And if it is either forcing it on all it's inhabitants, or if it is showing that there is always something out there trying to corrupt and sweep aside everything.

The air bombardment begins and the Judge stands up from where she was sitting on a bench in the deserted town. At least the man in charge here had been reliable. But as the Space Wolves recite tthey're prayer, the Judge slides her horned helmet onto her head, and draws out her Judge Blade. The triangular crystal blade held in one hand as she draws a card out from thin air. "The. Briar."

The end of her sword stabs into the card, and slams it into hte ground. A Magic circle forms around her feet and spreads out across the ground: Thick vines of crystal sprout up from the ground with thorns sharp enough to cut flesh.

The Judge turns and starts walking paralell to the expected front as she holds two fingers to her helmet as she speaks.

"Artillery zone set at point R-22, proceeding to the expected enemy overflow. Recomending total bombardment of R-22 in thirty seconds."
Karian Icefang     The Horde of Tyranids advance like the ungodly tide they are. No fear in their unified minds. But thanks to Kuma and Cirra's bombardments, the first wave begins to fall. The following insects simply run right over their comrades bodies, caring only for what was ahead of them. Termagaunts fire their bio-weapons at the frontlines, peppering the guard and space wolves in position. Warrior broods bring up venom cannons, trying to ping and bring down buildings onto the defenders. This isn't fully successful, but some debris does dislodge the more...green soldiers. Hormigaunts flood towards the trenches established, teeth and claws biting and slashing at guardsmen. Zoanthropes move into position to provide counter artillary, and cover fire. The sheer number of tyranids rivalled perhaps the battles the Ultramarines or even the Blood Ravens engaged before.
Somewhere in the back fields, the true director of this horde waited. It wasn't time yet for it to emerge. And so it waited, eagerly, to announce itself.
Karian Icefang     Karian watched as the bombardments came in and smashed the frontlines of the tyranids. It brought a smile to his face to see the bugs so easily wiped out. But some make it to the line, and find themselves met with overlapping lines of heavy bolter fire from the buildings nearby. Long Fangs and Grey Hunters took up positions and rained down the allfather's fury. Basilisk artillary rang out it's almost deafening chorus in a mix of normal and earthshaker rounds. Lemun Russ tanks emerge from their shadowy positions and loose their own voices into the cacophany of ammo. But Karian looks off to the distance in the east. He knew something else was coming. As a Tyranid leapt at him, it met his power claws. Then...over the radio, the voice came. The surprise he hinted at to Alden, and some relief to the other guardsmen...
Karian Icefang     Over the eastern rise of desert, they arrived. A full complement of tanks, but not just any tanks. Karian had called in a fairly big favor, and he just played his trump card. Those tanks....belong to experts of seige warfare. The Death Korp of Krieg. But they also brought something else. Something...BIG. Pulling his weight with some commisars, he got the legendary first of the Guard. He got them to deploy...a Baneblade! The super tank rolls over the hill, unleashing it's main gun and the other ten barrels into the horde. "Ready to unleash 11 barrels of Hell, Volf Lord."
Shigure     Kuma's fleet approaches... and the first sign of the girls themselves, visually is the great tower of Yamashiro's Pagoda Mast. The 130ft tall tower crests the curve of the horizon. As it reaches about half way, plumes of smoke erupt from the two forward turrets, the sound carrying just as the shells explode above the advancing waves, showering them in a hail of white-hot magnesium, tungsten and steel shrapnel. "Sanshiki, Primary 1 and 2, reload Sanshiki. Helm come to 2-7-0, Primary 3, 4, 5 and 6, set bearing 0-9-0. Drop starboard anchor." Yamashiro says, mostly to herself as her main body comes into view. An impressive sight, the floating fortress turning glacially to its right, as the anchor splashes into the water.

Kuma, Shigure and Nowaki appear over the horizon moments later, speeding closer to shore to bring their own guns into contention. 15.5cm triple cannons, and 10cm High Angles pelting High Explosive shells in more rapid succession as they come into range. "Don't underestimate me, kuma!" "I'm disappointed in you guys." "Compared to Leyte and Mariana, this is NOTHING! FIRE!"

Chitose, for her part, is far out of range, beyond the horizon. She recalls the first wave, but even before they're back, another wave is launching from the steam catapults, taking flight and angling in to strike at the artillery positions set up by the Zoanthropes.
Alexis Maaka     Maaka takes the first shot of the night, aiming for what amounts to vital personnel with Tyranids. Though then again, it's hard to tell who counts as 'in-charge' with these ugly buggers, so she opts to go for the biggest and ugliest looking of the horde. Of course, she can't exactly take them all down on her own, so when help arrives she's glad...at least when it occurs to her that Baneblade is for /her/.

"You're /kidding./" She says aloud, before her helmet folds into place, and she grapples down to leap atop of the massive supertank.

Climbing inside, she doffs a pretend-hat to the crew, grinning behind her mask. "'allo lads, I'll be borrowing this for a bit. Now let's go stomp some bugs, shall we?"

Without delay she breaks out the big guns, taking aim at the 'nids and letting loose with eleven barrels of Hell, as the saying goes.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead looks as she flies out, "Mairead in flight," she says over the radio as she summons Loch Rain, her .60 cal Heavy Shotgun. Cocking it, she studies everything and gulps, "Th...the look like insects," she mentions as she moves in next to Kuma's Fleet, "Ready for order's ma'am," she says to Kuma as Mairead is also a part of the Hikari Fleet under Admiral Nagato.

Takign aim, she fires her shotgun at some of the bugs and blinks, "Trident..." she says as thefloating wings open upto reviel missiles, "FIRE!!!" she yells as she unloads twenty missiles into the Tyranids that are approaching. As the missiles fly, Mairead begins to fire on the bugs that are approaching. "It willtake some time for me missiles to reload," she says to Kuma, or one of the Fleet Daughters as she continues firing.
Maya Maya was thanktul to have Cirra along, the young Judge had more than proved her self since she joined up with the union. Maya was quite happy to have her along. They would need all the power they could get today to deal with the things. She also knew this world would have ferals to deal with even if they carried the day. Still they have to do what they can as the bombardment came in. It was just ot thin their numbers. The guard are sending in the big guns a Banblade was a hulking rolling fortress which would help thin the horrors ranks and give valuable support fire.

Maya then would move to get on to the Baneblade but not inside she'll not punt a Guardman outside, what she will do is help keep the tank /clear/ of anything that might get on it, or get behind it.
Yuna Kagurazaka That's a lot of bugs.

That's an AWFUL lot of bugs.

Yuna suppresses a shudder at the sheer unbridled bug-ness of the massed Tyranid hordes, and turns her attention to the Matrix of Light. "Jiina, you're up; let's combine and do as much damage as we can in Powered Form. Erina, Marina, stay out of their reach, rescue people where you're able, and toss whatever firepower you can at the Tyranids. Elner, standard overwatch and surveillance, if you would?"

The purple-and-white and reddish-orange-and-white androids nod in unison and take to the air, starting to fly along and over the defenders' lines; if they se somebody who needs a moment's help, they'll provide it as well as they can - with rapid-fire pulse blasters for Erina, and miniature torpedo-like missiles for Marina, where the need is for firepower; if somebody just needs a hand back to his or her feet, they'll provide that as well.

As for Jiina and Yuna, the green-and-white android goes translucent, 'phasing' over Yuna's form before vanishing entirely; the wireframe which appears around Yuna in her place is quickly 'filled in' by the pieces of a large exoskeletal battle-frame, interlocking with the basic Light Suit and with each other to construct the heavy armor of Powered Form. As soon as her transformation to Powered Form is complete, Yuna ignites the hover-thrusters, summoning both the Matrix Divider and her shield, Shugoseiheki; the kite shield takes form on the left exo-arm, while the rifle/sword hybrid that is her main weapon materializes in her hands.

Then she executes a shallow, thruster-boosted 'leap,' opening fire with the Matrix Divider to clear her landing spot amongst the closer ranks of Tyranids. No sooner has she descended *into* that opening than she cuts loose with Powered Form's beam cannons, twin columns of concussive radiance hammering a path through the Tyranids - and hopefully buying her enough time to start applying her firepower in a more focused manner, while the beam cannons are recharging.
Cirra Constantine     Cirra continues to walk as almost exactly 30 seconds after she set up The Briar, shells drop on Tyranids caught in the thorns. A thin smile behind her helmet.

The Judge begins running, and she's fast despite that platemail. She leaps and alights on a iron fence, springing off to flip over like a gymnast as she raises her sword, and comes down directly behind some Termagaunts assault a Gaurd position.

The Judge Blade swings like it was a feather in her hand as she steps in and spins, swinging the weapon through alien chitin and sinew. "Don't fall! Fight back aggressively or they'll overrun the fortifications!"
Rebecca Chambers     Tyranids are approaching, and Rebecca's ready. "Remember, we're not here to fight! We're here to finish this!" She sounds more like a true soldier than she did before. Perhaps her determination is getting her in the right mood for a change. She opens fire on the Tyranids with her rifle, yelling out loudly as she does so. "You'll all pay for your actions!" She cries out.
Kirito     So. Many. BUGS.

Kirito SHUDDERS. Gulps. Grips his blades ever more tightly. But he drops into a deeper stance. "Yeah. On it!" He doesn't wait long. Once the initial wave of bombardments is over and done with he scans the battlefield for any area that's NOT a maelstrom of bullets and explosions. He doesn't wanna get caught in friendly fire!

And once he locates a place that needs reinforcements... his wings appear in no time at all. WHOOOSH. With a sonic boom he is OFF and into the front lines.

    "UUUUUOOOOAAAAARGH!!!"

He neatly BISECTS one of the creatures, putting all his flying momentum into the slash. But then he hits the ground, skids across the desert sands and whirls around to slash at another. As they swarm he just keeps leaping about and slashing. Leaping and slashing to open areas and taking down stragglers. He's trying to lead on the hordes and keep their aggro...

... Without being actually overwhelmed by them.

But there's a fury and spirit behind his blades. Desperation has apparently had an odd effect on him.

The Black Swordsman is waking up.
Alden      The sight of the 'surprise' and all the other arrivals... seem to have make him feel a bit better, perhaps things are going to go well for this place. He is well aware that he is not... really able to fight large groups, at least, he can't do that for long. So he decides to stay back and try his best to assist the defenders, attacking any bug that threatened to get too close!.

He knows he should avoid direct meelee to the creatures, and decides to try something. A quick flick of a card, and he is holding a pair of what look like sawed off shotguns... while he is not a great good shot without... computer assistance/aiming, he does not need to worry about it on short range, blasting the bugs with unusually... strong shotgun slugs. Oddly, he does not seem to need to reload.
Karian Icefang     Tyranids did NOT expect that. Artillary fire, tank shells, bolter fire, and synapse sniping drill the horde hard, and survivors met the treads and guns of the Baneblade. Screams from the Tyranids fill the air as a counter to the roars of the Imperium and Multiverse. One could almost hear the Hive Mind itself shuddering in rage and fear. The Zoanthropes get one good volley off before they find their own position obliterated by Chitose's airstrikes. Yet in other places, the nids were getting in. Guardsmen knew the plan and began tactical withdrawals. Warrior broods with scything claws followed some, and found landmines with their tails painted and detonated. Gaunts that continued were cut down by combined fire from Death Korp, planetary defence force, and space wolf fire.
Yuna's android partners and cannons do a number on the tyranids, and save many a guardsmen. Were there any Zoanthropes left, they would have targetted her. But as it stood now, things were not going in the favor of the 'nids. Cirra recieves a nod from the guardsmen, who kick their fire up. Rebecca drops a warrior with her rifle. Next to her, a pair of Death Korp guardsmen take up positions. "We will! If you'll have us, we'll link up with you." one speaks up, taking down another gaunt.
Kirito's blade and speed decimate the tyranids with shock and awe. They never fought anything so far before, and it leaves them open. Meanwhile, Alden's shotguns rip into more gaunts and the warriors that opted to try and burrow behind the lines.
Yet still the horde presses on, but now the leader of the horde decides to make it's way forward...
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead continues firing Loch Rain, at the Tyranids as she moves through the air. Looking, she switches to her bream bow so that Loch Rain can reload and begins firing beam bolts from the bow.

Mairead sees areas breaking , and she flies over to them and begins to cover them as she fires and keeps an eye on Trident so she knows when it is ready.
Alexis Maaka     Maaka decides to do something insane, and taps the driver by the shoulder. "Go forwards." "What?" "You heard me, trooper. Run 'em over!"

"...okay." The Baneblade will be directed further into the melee, running over the smaller Tyranids while Bolters and mounted machine guns rip the horde to itty bitty bits. Maaka herself pokes out with her coilgun, beginning to take potshots at one of the Zoanthropes, firing blast after blast, "This is beginning to be the easiest fifty-kay I ever made." She remarks, swapping to the MG while trimming the hedges, so to speak. WIth bullets.
Karian Icefang     Karian watches as the tyranid assault is stopped in most places, and gives a nod towards Mairead for her cover. But cornered wolves don't simply sit back and let others fight for them. No, they take the field themselves. Leading a charge right into the horde, Karian's massive armor thuds as he runs to the nearest warrior and skewers it on his power claws. He then looks at the next one, and slashes it apart. His Wolfguard brothers do the same, carving a circle of dead 'nids around them. But there was more to them then martial prowess. Another of Karian's Retinue, his Rune Priest Freyr steps into action. A large batch of Tyranids was charging towards Kirito's flank, and the normally calm priest wasn't going to allow that. His staff glowed red hot, and those inclined could feel the power of his runes coming to life. He turns to face the Charging warriors and in a shout of his native Fenrisian and with a clap of his gauntlets, a MASSIVE THUNDERING ECHO erupts from him, liquifying nids.
The guard lines hold firm, fighting the enemy with the ferocity of men prepared to fall. Though some do, the majority of the city infrastructure and defenders remain alive. They seemed to have done it. They have broken the horde of the endless devourer. "FIGHT ON! THIS IS OUR LAND! OUR HOME! THESE ALIEN BASTARDS AREN'T GONNA EAT IT!" cries one commisar, followed by the cheers of his soldiers.
Shigure     There's a metallic groaning from out to sea, as Yamashiro suddenly jerks sideways. The anchor catches into the seabed, and drags the heavy mass of metal around, bringing the rest of her guns to bear on the shoreline... but she holds fire... maybe she can sense something, maybe her surface radar is picking up movement... "Chitose, overfly <grid reference> Surface radar is picking up unusual movement." she calls, looming ominously on the crest of the horizon. Kuma, Nowaki and Shigure, for their part, seem intent on beaching themselves on the shoreline, but as they close in, their ship forms glow brilliant white, and shatter, leaving the girls in Land fit-out to charge up the beach to join the melee, their guns still firing, while Kuma pulls on... her ahoge?!

Not just a hair thing, from within it, she pulls a three-section staff, with which she starts going to town on the nearest Warrior brood, cracking carapace and firing point-blank 15cm shells into the weakened armour.

Shigure spins her cannon tonfa around, and starts firing blank shells to propel them harder into her foes, she dances, and she sings. "Riders on the storm. One with the winds, defenders of creation..."

Nowaki draws a sword, a short wakizashi from one of her garter straps, and with her purse-cannon, starts to slice and dance through the melee too, though she seems to be having more trouble with the 'nids than her fleetmates.

Chitose confirms Yamashiro, and diverts the third wave of Zuiun to overfly the rear lines of the Tyranid force.
Yuna Kagurazaka The only problem with Powered Form's beam cannons is that it takes a little while for them to recharge in between shots - she can't just sweep the battlefield with them, no matter how much she'd like to flatten Tyranids en masse.

But then again, she's not fighting alone against the massive swarm, either - and she's infinitely glad of that, even as the Rune Priest unleashes a sonic (and maybe magical) assault, and her other allies lay into the charging alien bugs with blades, beams, bullets, bombs ... all manner of weapons and attacks, many of which can't conveniently be spelled with a 'B'. Yuna herself switches over to a combination of the Matrix Divider (alternating between shooting and slashing as she needs to), wielded in her own two hands, and bludgeoning strikes with the exo-arms, balling the manipulators up to punch or spreading them to grab and fling. One of the *good* things about fighting against a massive horde like this is that you can use the enemy's numbers against each other - particularly when you have the comparative size to do so.

Elner's still holding position high above the battlefield, well out of anyone else's lines of fire - and if any of the Tyranids try to take a shot at the little robo-faerie, it can protect itself or teleport away without a great deal of trouble. The activity from the Tyranids' rear echelon catches Elner's attention as well, and Erina and Marina begin making their way back towards the middle, closing in to rendezvous with Yuna momentarily ...
Rebecca Chambers     The Tyranids show no apparent sign of slowing down, but neither does Rebecca either. "I'm gonna shred you all to pieces!" She says with a fierce scowl. She pauses only long enough to duck behind cover and eject the empty clip from her rifle, waiting a moment before loading a new clip into the rifle. "We're gonna win this! There's no denying it!" Rebecca's self motivation seems to work well as she pops up and continues firing. Out of the corner of her eye, she notices the leader moving. "There they are!" She calls out to her allies, attempting to draw attention to them.
Maya Maya is going to ride with the baneblade for now, she'll get on the VOXnet.

<<There's going to be a moment wqhere I'm going to need covering fire but you to keep the tank back, I'll let you know.>>

Maya will start picking off nids with the bolters and she says nothing. There is no war cry, no words, all are wasted on these horrors she just starts picking off nids that get past THE BANEBLADE's guns.
Alexis Maaka     Sonic shouts. THat's a new one. Maaka immediately switches her ears off before the blast hits, and she grits her teeth when the Baneblade is rocked from the shockwave. The other guys are luck enough to not be deafend themselves, and they're back to work within moments.

"You got cover, just say the word." She nods to Maya, before going towards cutting down 'nid after 'nid with gunfire and coilgun blasts. When the Hive Tyrant makes itself known, she trains her weapons upon it, firing away with reckless abandon.
Kirito     Kirito glances over his shoulder, grimacing upon realizing just how darned MUCH of these things there are! But then... the battlepriest is beating the tar out of them.

It fills him with a new upwelling of determination.

He acts upon it IMMEDIATELY... by activating a Sword Skill in a blitz and carving through one of the creatures now going for Freyr!

SONIC LEAP takes him past a half dozen Tyranids, leaving a bloody gash through all of them. The wounds explode with windy power as he skids to a halt!

But apart from a look of gratitude for the priest, Kirito's pretty damn focused on battle here.

    It's alright right now.

He doesn't have to think that much. This is a butcher's work - the only difference is the meat's still alive. Chop chop chop. That's all that's called for from him right now.

But as he stands there... he finally recognizes Alden, who called to him earlier. "Look out!"

Once again Kirito repositions himself, blitzing across the battlefield briefly. He won't leave Freyr alone for long, but the teenager cuts a bloody path across some of Alden's enemies to give the Digimon some breathing room!

The moment his wings fade out again though... well. The stress is building.

There's so many screams everywhere. So much pain. So much death.

Teeth clenched mightily he raises both blades... "OOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH!!!" Golden, inhuman FURY shines in his eyes. In the right light it might seem that his dark eyes really have turned a a furious, murderous yellowish shade.

Because that is apparently how the Seed's engine renders true killing intent. Maybe inspired by a manga about a wandering swordsman. Or maybe not. But that's what the color means.

"Faster... gotta go faster... break the limits!" The boy does indeed do that. Kirito's slashes start getting faster and faster, more and more furious. he's hardly even BOTHERING with Sword Skills as he zips about from creature to creature. Sometimes they spear him with claws and mandibles but his health is holding, more or less.

That look in his eyes though, it's almost as terrifying as the Tyranids.

    The Black Swordsman has awakened!
Cirra Constantine     As the Gaurdsmen take heed of her and fight back aggressively, Cirra turns around fights side by side with them against the termagaunts still trying to slither and claw over the wall. Slashing her Judge blade through the neck of one monster, only for another greater beast to be reported on the horizon.

The Judge leans up against the fortification from the inside and stares as the Hive Tyrant begins it's approach, hand gripping the wall tightly. A smirk behind her helmet.

    "As egotistical as any man."

The Judge blade snaps open as it transforms, the blade turning into the barrel of a rifle. The Judge leaps over the barricade and runs, weaving through the tyranid hord as she fires the weapon. Slivers of crystal shooting through the air and exploding on impact, clearing a path towards the Hive Tyrant.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead looks as she thinks and sees that her missiles are ready. "I have a lock. firing," she comments as she smiles, "Trident...FIRE!"she yells as the twenty trident missiles fire.

As the missiles fly towards the Hive Tyrant, she pulls out Loch Rain and moves in closer as she begins to circle the thing and fires on it at short range, avoiding any f the creatures strikes as she backs off, but keeps firing.
Karian Icefang     Tyranids begin falling back at this point. Synapse creatures were dead in droves. The loss of so much biomass secured the death of the Hive Fleet, but there was still one last threat that loomed. In the distance the Hive Tyrant emerged. The sheer howl in unleashed shook the very ground slightly. It's stomps were akin to a t-rex from a certain movie. As the artillary comes in, it howls and vanishes in a cloud of smoke. Moments pass, and it seems to be over...
Until the beast CHARGES from the smoke. It's scything claws were extended, ready to cut at anything in it's path. Lemun Russ tanks tried to push forward to kill of the horde at the flanks, but met with stomps and claws. But despite this, the keen eyed would notice on it's back, a crack. The Baneblades main tank's impact and the trident fire pound into the front armor. A crack! The armor was breaking, and a target designated!
The poor survivors of the ground war try to rally with the tyrant, but the fearsome black swordsman cuts those hopes short. That's about when it happens. A Scream on the psychic level. Somehow, someway, the Hive Fleet was losing cohesion. It was dying right above them. A glance to the sky would show it dying, and long distance radio's were coming back online.
Yuna Kagurazaka         "LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT *UP*!!! EL-LINE!!"

Erina and Marian reach Yuna *JUST* in time before the Hive Tyrant lunges into the fray; the pillar of light which erupts around Yuna's position might actually act as an obstacle to the Tyranid 'leader' if she's too close to the boss monster when it charges. It's a short-lived phenomenon, in any case; the light dissipates to reveal the Matrix Figure, El-Line, already hovering in the air as Yuna's voice rings out over the battlefield.

"SHUGOSEIHEKI!!" Her first call brings the kite shield back into existence, this time scaled up to fit the gleaming mecha's size.

"LIGHTNING SWOOOOOOOORD!!!" Yuna's second cry brings El-Line's melee weapon to bear, energy crackling from the super robot's right palm before it materializes into a physical sword, light crackling along its blade ... and then she brings that sword slashing down, trying to sever a few of the Hive Tyrant's limbs. Already on the defensive, she didn't quite have time to focus on trying to deliver a killing strike - and she's not sure how thick the thing's armor is, but when you're dealing with anything that has an exo-skeleton, the joints are typically a good place to aim ...
Karian Icefang     Karian looked up at the monster as it stomped forth. "Morkai's arse..." He mutters. But that's when he see's it. He see's the hive fleet fall. He then knows what to do. Synching comms back up with his strike cruiser, he gives them the order for bombardment. From the skies come what look like lasers, three of them. Each is tri-angulated onto the position of the hive tyrant. Smaller tyranids nearby seemingly levitate, but are then thrown back down to the ground with devestating impact, and explosive fury. Basilisks, tank cannons, orbital cannon fire, and even bolter and lasfire erupt at the monster. Karian himself moves for a heavy lasgun turret, and rips it off the stand. He fires it right for the Tyrant's face, aiming to end it.
Freyr watches Kirito closely, surprised. If he didn't know better, he would swear the boy had a wulfen inside of him clawing to get free. But the wisened rune priest knew when to fight, when to run, and when to screw the monster over. So, he focused all of his energy once more. He appeals to the very spirit of the planet, envoking one of his powerful spells. Once he was sure everyone was clear and only tyranids remained, he slammed his staff into the ground. The ground shakes and rumbles, a chasm forming in a shape akin of a wolf's maw.
Shigure     Yamashiro has a target. Even from this range she can see the huge monster hulking across the open terrain. "Displace turrets, saturation spread. Sanshiki, 15ft airburst. Main battery, take aim... FIRE!" All six turrets fire in sequence, twelve cannons unloading a Type 3 shell into the air. "Attention, incoming area effect shells. Clear the target. Repeat, clear the target. Impact ~10 seconds."

Kuma, Nowaki and Shigure turn back toward the fortification, running and firing shells at the approaching tyrant as it clashes with Yuna in her Giant Mecha. "We're clear, kuma!"

Chitose's Zuiun circle over the battle, still carrying a bomb load, just in case they're needed.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead pulls out of the combat, as she is out of this fight.
Maya Maya has hit her stop so to speak and she does a leap off of THE BANEBLADE, and does a three point landing. She doesn't take long to star to open up with te bolter but it's well. It seems the orbital forces were doing well and now Maya's just going to unleash. The Tyranids are made of flesh, and other forms of organic matter.

"You have no place monster it is time for you to burn."

Blue flames leech out of Maya's body, hopefully the Guard will just take it the strange woman is a Pysker that the Space Wolves dragooned into this fight. It keeps building and building as she starts launching pillars of flames into the ranks of the Tyranids. They will burn in fire as she tries to in them in and force them to be easier targets for all of her allies.
Rebecca Chambers     Meanwhile, Rebecca is pulling back, continuing to open fire with her rifle. Her weapons would be most likely useless against that huge creature, so she decides to help thin the ranks down a bit to support her allies. "We've got this battle going great! Don't let up now!" She calls out as she briefly pauses to reload again. If she runs out of clips, her Magnum will suffice as backup.
Cirra Constantine     The rank and file tyranids are in disarray. The Hive Fleet has begun to shatter above them, screaming on the psychic plane as its conciousness is torn to shreds. "You've over played your hand, monsters!"

The Judge takes a wide stance, aned slams the tip of her Judge Blade into the ground. The weapon begins to sink slowly into the ground as it disolves into Magic Particles. Cirra holds her hand skywards . "I, Cirra Constantine of Ramuh. Empowered by the gift of Law from the God Ramuh through the seat of power of the al Cid dynasty, declare you guilty on the following charges!"

"Murder!" The ground glows with a magic circle as it slowly spread out from hte disappearing sword.
"Reckless destruction!" The circle grows larger still, the runes thrumming with power, and projecting itself up into the air.
"Genocide!" The circle shifts entirely into the sky as Cirra's eyes glow golden behind her visor and black smoke leaks out of her armor.

"You, are hearby sentanced for your crimes with the final punishment!"

A piece of crystal begins to form in the skybound magic cirle, until it takes the obvious form of a gigantic sword blade, dangling over the Hive Tyrant.

"DAMOCLES!" Cirra cuts her hand across the open air, like she was cutting a rope.

The sword falls as if suddenly freed from its restraint, slamming down towards the Hive Tyrrant with all the weight of the law to back it up. Crashing down like a thousand tons of crystal, aiming to skewer the beast straight through for Freyr's attack.
Kirito     With a HUGE CREATURE emerging as the lesser survivors scatter and retreat, Kirito turns and stands tall. His breathing's ragged but will remains strong. Even as his real body's no doubt sweating bullets and breathing hard, heartbeat skyrocketing... the Kirito that's here shows only a few mild signs of such. With clenched teeth he glares at the creature.

He's seen scythes like that before.

The Skull Reaper really, REALLY liked using them.

Kirito rushes straight for the monster as it's swinging that weapon for some of their own. He arrives just in time, plants both feet hard into the ground and brings up both swords in a cross block. "Ghhhhhhh!!!"

This is less effective than he would hope. That thing's so HUGE he can't hope to fully overcome it. But he does drastically slow down its swing and kill the force behind it.

    One swing.

Then in comes Yuna with her energized blade. Kirito uses her attack, among others, for his opening.

Despite the creature's damned tough-looking carapace, he activates a Sword Skill! His right sword ignites with flames and lashes out in a swift star pattern that explodes! Just as the flames are dying icy power flows from his LEFT blade and is quickly brought to bear in a series of savage slashes!

The bombardment continues, building on every single flinch and opening that the creature might show. The right sword picks up after the first slash with a series of windy strikes that cast greenish white lights everywhere!

Then it's the left again before the wind's died down. LIGHTNING courses through the blade as Kirito slams it down in a reverse grip to unleash the charge!

And again the right sword ignites just as that Sword Skill ends. Rock fragments whirl up around it through a series of horizontal, hammering slashes!

Then it's the left, this time gleaming freakish purples with the power of darkness. A series of savage thrusts leads into...

A final five slash attack of Kirito's gleaming black blade, white power of Light energizing it thoroughly. As he brings it down for one final slash the power of Light's fully unleashed as a small searing pillar that breaches the skies for one brief moment!
Alden      Alden is stunned as he sees that gigantic bug appear, charging and stomping forward... He really does not have much time to react, or join in the attack to the 'boss' Tyranid, when the building he was trying to defend takes a hit from one of the leftover tyranids carrying longer range guns. He can't go towards them, and the meelee drones that keep attempting to push through at the same time, at least not like this, so he decides to take a risk. He reaches for another of his cards, slashes it, and within an instant he changes.

He is no longer the bipedal wolf from earlier, but instead, a large, quadruped... robotic?, cybernetic? wolf of some sort, covered in armor from tail to nose. He knows he can't quite resist for long like this, so he decides to just go all out. He jumps high in the air, metal 'wings' on his shoulders glowing as they activate, and moves forward. An instant later, several clicks come from his frame, hidden panels all over his form opening, revealing a large number of missiles. "Giga Cross Freezer!" he howls, as all teh missiles are launched, most of them land nearby, pumelling the area beneath him and near the building, making sure to not hit any poor guardsmen, while a small group swerve and turn, moving in a direct path to hit the warriors with the venom cannons. As the projectiles detonate, they leave teh area of inpact frozen, large ice formations appearing in midst of their landing. The attack hits a broad area, freezing dozens of the bugs. He mantains the attack a few more moments, doing his best to clear the area nearest to the border, and marking a decently large area.

Then he suddenly seems to run out of 'juice, or energy, or stamina' and with a simple burst of light, he returns to his gabumon form!. On the plus side, there were no bugs left in the area beneath him, on the bad side, he... was somewhat high, and he can't fly, so it is a painful drop. "Need to plan things better next time." he mumbles as he falls.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead looks and spots someone fall and pulls a 3g turn as her hyper sensor, which allows her to see in all directions without turning her head. She heads for Alden and grabs him as she speeds away at 200 mph into the sky. "I have someone who is out cold. Evacing." she says over the radio.
Karian Icefang     The Tyrant stares unsurely at Yuna's transformation, which gives enough time for the bombardments to strike true, shattering the back armor. In the front, the continued onslaught further weakens and breathes the armor. The tyrant saw Freyr and seemed to know exactly what he had planned. It's scythes indeed went to strike, but Kirito's skill and speed stopped the blade long enough for Yuna to sever one scythe, and for him to not only cleave the other off, but demonstrate that despite the armor, it couldn't withstand a devestating combo of elements. And at the end, it fell to the Rune Priest and the Judge to seal it's doom.
As the ground cracked open from the power of the Rune Priest, one could hear him speaking in his native tongue. "You will devour no more, Monster! The Spirit of this planet, guided by my runes and it's desire to see you gone, cast you to Hell! HEAR NOW THIS PLANET'S CRY AS IT DEVOURS YOU!" If one looked close, Freyr had what appeared to be lightning shooting out briefly from his eyes.
Karian Icefang     And so it falls. The Tyrant vanishes into the chasm, the sword of Damocles pierces the back armor and sends it howling to the planet's core, to incinerate. "It's over..." Karian says. He seemed a bit in disbelief for more reasons then one. They toppled a Hive Fleet, but beyond that, he had never seen Freyr use those abilities. He knew his clanmate was strong, but this was new. Still, he hid it and turned to the Guardsmen. "YOU HAVE DONE WELL, GUARDSMEN! TODAY, YOU SAVED YOUR PLANET!" He declares. Cheers from every member of the guard, be they death korp, or PDF shouted their praises, and the praises of the Multiversal Champions.
Alden      Alden seems unharmed, except for some scrapes, so it seems he just passed out for a moment due to expending a bit too much energy at once. He will have to thank whoever saved him from smashing into ice spikes!. He might complain he missed the sight of the giant bug being devoured by the planet itself tho.
Shigure     Yamashiro, Kuma, Nowaki and Shigure breathe sighs of relief. "Kuma to Fifth Fleet, stand down, alert level Yellow, kuma." calls the flagship, lifting her right hand to cover her ear as she speaks. "Chitose, help mop up remaining ground forces, kuma. Coordinate with PDF groups and provide air support, kuma."

"Understood Flagship. Zuiun launching." The Seaplane tender is aswarm with landed floatplanes, being lifted back onto deck by a crane, refueling, rearming and relaunching rapidly, each one only taking about ten minutes turn around.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead is not looking as the planet eats the big bug. She is heading for the Fort and slows as she lands. Handing the wolfman off to medics, at least she thinks they are medics, she hovers over to those on the wall and looks, "Where did it go?" she ask as she listens and sighs as she thinks and her IS phases out and she returns to her 5'6" height and her IS Training Suit.
Yuna Kagurazaka Fortunately for Yuna, her allies give her plenty of warning to get El-Line out of the area of effect before the REALLY big stuff happens - and as for the Rune Priest's incantation ... well, El-Line can fly or hover easily enough, but she's still just as glad to be out of harm's way.

And with that, the Tyranid threat is largely eliminated. There are stragglers here and there, and Yuna is happy to contribute to the mopping-up - sometimes *literally* crushing Tyranids under El-Line's heel, sometimes blasting them with energy bolts from El-Line's palm, sometimes just pointing out a cluster that somebody else is closer to and better able to dispose of.

It's sort of therapeutic, really. Yuna still hates bugs, so being able to take monsters like these out with minimal danger is kind of welcome.
Cirra Constantine     As the Sword of Damocles strikes the Tyrant down into the world's maw, Cirra's shoulders slump, the black smoke wafting away from her body and the golden glow of her eyes fades.

Using that attack always forces her to burn blood for more magic. She'll need orange juice and cookies later. But it's over now. THe beast is dead, it's cohorts now mindless animals, or dead.
Rebecca Chambers     Rebecca's gotten herself out of danger's way with time to spare. She now watches from onboard the craft that brought her here. She's glad that things have been taken care of, and is breathing a sigh of relief. "Looks like we did good out there!" Rebecca says to the others via communications with a smile. "I knew we could triumph!"
Maya Maya has been spending a good deal of power, while she's not running low, her body can only take so much power going through it at once. She's now just slumping to the ground for a moment and looking out. She relaxes a bit as the Tyrant is struk down hopefully shattering the brood's orginzation, maya will stay for a time to help the Guard clean things up also to hunts any possible Genestealer cults that might exist or have been missed.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead would reactivate her IS and fly out to help those who were exhausted back to the Space Wolf base. Additionally, she would help move wounded to the same location.
