Amaterasu LAST TIME ON TOUHOU BALL Z: Gensokyo's heroes, sans one lazy Hakurei, decided to take the fight directly to Wakahirume, and take back Gensokyo's safety by force! The battle was fierce, and in the end, despite the Gods displaying overwhelming power, our heroes made it through with ingenuity and clever thinking. Of course, the Palace of The Sun was vaporized in the process, along with Wakahirume, Masakatsu, and every single fairy in the palace.

     Those poor fairies.

All that was left was the glass-like sphere that Amaterasu lay asleep in, her form still materializing. With nothing left to do but wait, and Gensokyo no longer under threat, the time was passed...

A week was given. An arbitrary number. Konoe had gone to check on Amaterasu a small number of times to make sure everything was okay. But today, today would be different. Different how? Well, let's start with that radiant glow shimmering in the skies above Gensokyo, fanning out over the island of Takamagahara.

     It was time.

Konoe immediately set foth from Marisa's house, and after a quick radio call, she took to the sky alone. The others would catch up. This wasn't like last time, where she ran off without telling anyone.

Besides, there was no way for any residents to miss that GLOWING SUNLIGHT fanning out across the world now.

The miko soared through the skies before eventually arriving at the beginnings of the godly land. It seemed a lot less...foreboding this time? Somehow. She just felt that way. Regardless, she continued on towards the Infinite Stairway.

People should be catching up by now.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna has been busy enough with other matters that she was mostly letting other people worry about Amaterasu's awakening; heaven knows there isn't much she can do to wake a sleeping sun goddess, and truth be told, Yuna enjoys sleeping in as much as the next girl, to say the least.

Still, Konoe's report is enough to stir Yuna from whatever else she was doing today, and after transforming and combining with Erina, Yuna heads for Gensokyo as quickly as she can get there, flying up along the Infinite Stairway at a decent (but subsonic) velocity. If she's actually ahead of Konoe, Yuna will drop back and shed some speed to keep pace with the catgirl priestess.

There isn't any real reason to hurry, though, is there? They'll get there when they get there, and in stark contrast to Gensokyo's recent weather, this sunlight feels refreshing and welcoming rather than oppressive.
Sarah Parsle Well. This is nice.

Sarah can appreciate not goddamn roasting when she comes to this crazy place now. what a way to introduce yourself, Gensokyo. Gawd. Sarah practically skitters along, her feet quickly sliding her forward to move her towards the Infinite Starway (not as infinite as advertised, return for QA), and glares at this manifestation of one of her many archnemesi while catching up to Konoe. "Hey. Konoe." Sarah says. "Is she done cooking or what?" She asks.

Well, Gensokyo WAS basically turned into a microwave for a while..
Reina Kinney Choosing to utilize a personal craft instead of the prototype device she used previously, Reina follows not too far behind as well. She grumbles a little at the memories of what happened last time, in that she was docked a third of her paycheck to pay for the damage done to the prototype, and she also had a concussion to deal with. Not to mention, one of the surgeons who treated her had made a joke about how her hair would've hidden any blood that was coming out. Fortunately, Reina wasn't in the mood to be charged with assaulting an official, so she just turned the other cheek instead.

Regardless of what happened, Reina isn't going to let that keep her down. She's returned again and is going to contine to provide assistance in this matter.
Staren     The not roasting is irrelevant -- as usual when visiting Gensokyo, Staren's in his power armor and it includes its own climate-controlled environment. After all, who knows if they'll need to fight Amaterasu? Staren flies up along the infinite stairway on his broom, waving to the others. "Cooking? Huh, I guess that might be apt... how's it going, girls?"
Alice Margatroid     After that test with Count Kord, Alice felt pretty confident about her new doll's capabilities. She was going to use this to make sure that Gensokyo was going to be safe from being roasted by the closeness of this island, and maybe burn a few things herself. A frown is upon Alice's face, remembering the week where Konoe got possessed... and what caused Alice to even go to Hell in the first place. Someone was going to pay.

Upon getting the note to come along, she gives a brief check. Hourai is with her, Shanghai is there, an Utsuho doll is with her and her spellcards. Yep, she's all ready to go and with a quick burst off the ground, she's heading towards Takamagahara to follow along behind Yuna and Konoe and ther rest.

Alice doesn't say much on the way or even to anyone around, this place was bothering her and she wanted to put an end to it, she does, however, give Yuna a soft smile, "Good afternoon, Yuna."
Marisa Kirisame     For one, beautiful week, all of Gensokyo's been able to sleep soundly at night without worrying about baking in their beds. Marisa is no exception. The witch seems in a much better mood as she soars up into the sky, racing like a shot to the source of that gentle glow. This isn't the first time she's been back to the island since they vaporized the palace, but it's the first time that the sphere housing the Sun Goddess herself did anything aside from float mysteriously in place.

In other words, it's time to finally close the curtain on this particular incident.

And judging from the heavy backpack slung over her back, Marisa intends to do it in style.

But... But after what happened the last time, what could she possibly have planned to outdo herself!?

That... Is a surprise~~~<3

"Hey Alice!" Marisa grins as she swings her broom up and around the puppeteer. "Looks like you've got a new friend, there," Marisa says, poking at the little Utsuho doll. "That what you went underground for?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa knew they would have to see things through to the end, there was no doubt about that but she had no idea about whan amaterasu would react when they woke or what had happen in gelainw ith her servants but it was time to roll out for lack better term she's armed and is ready as she'll ever be really. That's about the long and the shor tof it.

"So here we go... huh?"
Kazuko Kawakami Kazuko's here! Again. She might not have the magic powers or technological acumen that most of her allies have demonstrated in their past forays into Gensokyo, but...

But... She's trying anyway! Plus, she's got a SECRET WEAPON today. She's not going to show it off yet, of course, but at least she seems quite a bit more confident in her preparations today (beyond her usual uniform and naginata). She's also wearing cheap-looking sunglasses this time, and that fanny pack full of water bottles is still there. It's important to protect the eyes and stay hydrated in this sort of weather!

"Hi, everyone! What's the plan today?" She looks towards Marisa in particular at that bit. Is she hoping for MORE EXPLOSIONS?
Amaterasu "Oh, hello Miss Sarah, Miss Yuna, Miss Reina, Alice, Mr Staren, Marisa, Kotone Miss Kazuko, Miss Kotone." Greeting everyone she could see, and offering a small smile, she looked on ahead as she flew. "I wouldn't call it cooking, but..." She nods, a bit of wry look edging into her smile. "That might be the case."

She looked left and right, not seeing Kumanokusubi anywhere. He was usually here practicing his forms obsessively. He might be up ahead.

Alice's Utsuho doll is met with a curious glance and an arch of the brow. "....?" Who was that supposed to be? Another doll of someone? Probably like that one spellcard she used way back then...

Well, she'd see what it did. Maybe. Who knew what would happen up there.

Speaking of up there, they cleared the stairway eventually, and after coming out over the top, what they found was....ah, everything was as they left it. In the sky, the stasis sphere that Amaterasu's vague form was suspended in continually radiated a golden light. And floating all around that orb were...Well, it looked like everyone was present.

Akiyama and Haruyama, Amenohohi, Kumanokusubi, Masakatsu, and Wakahirume all floated around the orb in a protective circle. The twins grinned and waved. "Hiiiii! Ya miss us?" The blonde one called out to them. The green one followed up. "Hehe, of course they did! After all, it was so much more boring without the likes of us spicing things up! Ain't that right, Kuma-bro?"

Said Kuma-bro bopped the green twin over the head. "It ain't Kuma-bro, brat. It's Kumanokusubi, The Azure Blade!" He smirked and posed with his oversized sword hefted on his shoulder. ....After several moments of silence, Wakahirume cleared her throat.

"Enough of this foolishness." She turned her gaze towards everyone present. "And now, for you people. Come to destroy mother and finish the job?" She crossed her arms loosely, eyes narrowing at Konoe in particular.

Masakatsu was entirely silent. He just set his eyes on Marisa, like a hunter waiting for the perfect moment to strike. ...Maybe.
Yuna Kagurazaka "Hi Alice!" Yuna replies cheerfully to the doll-user, waving in further response to Alice's greeting her by name. The others in the group at least get a wave from Yuna, even if she doesn't greet them directly - she's more focused on what lies ahead ... and, while she's not showing it outwardly, Yuna is still a little worried. After all that's happened, is Amaterasu going to be okay when she *does* wake up? Are they going to have to fight it out with the actual sun goddess herself, the nominal head (or at least first-among-equals) of the Shinto pantheon?

That's ... well, Yuna is REALLY hoping they've had the last fight. Wakahirume was bad enough -

But that's the point where Yuna's attention is drawn back to Takamagahara and its denizens. Akiyama and Haruyama call out friendly greetings, and Yuna waves back to them, "Hello again! Glad to see you're all up and around, in good health and good spirits!" she calls in reply, slowing down and descending ... to face Wakahirume in particular.

Yuna folds her hands in front of her legs and bows, deeply and formally, to Wakahirume. "It's our hope that the fighting here is over, once and for all," Yuna states. Never mind if SOME of the group would be happy to engage in one last battle, Yuna's going to speak otherwise for them *anyway*, or at least imply that she's doing so. "If we need to help awaken Her August Radiance by shooting at the sphere she's inside of, that's one thing ... but I will not engage She Who Illuminates Heaven in full-fledged battle. And I'm glad to see that you came back as well, by the way," she adds with a wry look, finally straightening up from her bow and daring to look Wakahirume in the eye. "I'm sorry about our having to hurt you, but I'm relieved to see that it didn't stick the way some people might have wanted it to."

Yuna pointedly does not turn to look at Staren; she has Elner to do that for her. She also has Jiina and Marina, who are flying up the Eternal Stairway at a much more sedate pace. But in the meantime, Elner does indeed watch Staren, in a manner not unlike a hawk.

... well, Elner's watching Marisa too.
Marisa Kirisame Oh hey, look who all decided to wake up!

Marisa gives Masakatsu a cheerful and INFURIATINGLY INNOCENT wave. Does she not know what manner of heresy she was responsible for!? NO, CLEARLY SHE DOES NOT. Speaking of Heresy, though... Wakahirume is talking.

Marisa looks to her and slooowly grins. "Oh hey, you're back! I was hopin' that me DOIN' YOUR JOB would've chastened you a little bit. But I guess not~" The witch lands on the ground near the sphere and unlimbers her backpack. She takes a moment to dig around inside, retrieving... What look like... forest-green potion bottles. They smell... minty. "Don't worry, I wouldn't want to hurt Konoe's momma if I don't need to."

"As long as she doesn't want to roast my home again, I ain't gonna worry. And if you apologize." Marisa jiggles the little vials of liquid. "Then I won't need to use THESE! So, what's the word, Wakacat? Gonna be civil?"

"Or do me an' my friends gotta get rough again?"
Staren     Staren lands and... sees that Wakahirume respawned already. He frowns at that, but they probably can't see behind his visor. He puts the broom away inside his magic bag, and crosses his arms. "This was never about killing anyone. It was about protecting Gensokyo. And it's my understanding that Gensokyo needs its sun goddess, even if the way /you/ planned to revive her would have destroyed it. So we're here to find a way to revive her. It is my comrades' hope that you have learned your lesson and will not get in our way. But if you continue to have your heart set on Gensokyo's destruction..." Staren gestures at the crater. "You have already seen that you cannot win /with/ the power of the palace."
Alice Margatroid     "Hello, Konoe. HOpefully you're doing ok." and with the greeting to the Cat Miko out of the way, the Utsuho doll returns the look.. "Unyu?" ...

Alice turns to Marisa, the Utsuho doll twitching at the poking. "Yes, and it works quite well too." she smiled, "But we'll see if it has any effect here. Hopefully it does." she gives a brief nod and flies up closer towards Yuna. Though when everyone else makes their apperance, she frowns. She recognized at least one of them, the jewel user.

Four dolls suddenly burst into view and surround Alice like a set of wings with Hourai and Shanghai joining at the top, Marisa would know this setup from the LAST incident... Alice wasn't going to play around with this one if they decided to throw the first bullet. "I'll leave the decision to Konoe and Marisa, I'm here to back them up. However, I'm none too happy with what you've done and with the whole possessing our cat... That's just gone a bit too far for us."

With this, she pulls out her grimoire and waits...
Reina Kinney "Just Reina's fine," Reina replies without the slightest hint of a smile or anything that would indicate she's being friendly. Reina also looks to the denizens and gives her head a slight nod. She's not being unfriendly, she's just trying to keep things simple because her sixth sense is going off like an alarm. She's hoping that there's no more fighting to be had as she looks to Wakahirume and says, "Look, I know last time while we were fighting you, I wound up with a concussion, but it's not your fault, so don't worry." She smirks a little this time. "Besides, I've had worse than a concussion before!"
Sarah Parsle Sarah just smirks back to Konoe, and they get moving up those deadly stairs. She's very careful. Underestimating them can lead to a /very/ unpleasant trip back down.

Still, at the top, Sarah shades her eyes, looking up at those present. "Well. Gang's all here, I see." She says, and grunts. "Don't be crazy, woman. There isn't going to be anything if no one starts anything. I think we've kind of earned the right to see what the rampant devastation's caused, don't you?" She replies.

At that, she sets herself neat the blast crater that used to be a palace and waits.
Marisa Kirisame "Actually," Marisa says, "We've got on just fine without a sun goddess for... forever." She wiggles her hand a little, the green fluid in her glass vials sloshing dangerously as she does. "So... You know. I just wanted to revive her 'cause Konoe's a friend, and 'cause I wanted to show up Wakikins over there."
Kazuko Kawakami So many familiar faces! And a few unfamiliar ones, even. Or did Kazuko meet them before and just forget them? Either way, her attention is mostly focused on Masakatsu, although Wakahirume and Kumanokusubi both get a long stare from the martial artist as well.

"You're gonna try and stop us again, Wakaka? Kusubi?" She brings that naginata off her shoulder as she speaks, slowly grinning with anticipation despite the serious tone in her voice. "This should be a fun fight, but... You know we're gonna beat you down every time, right? We won't let you destroy..."

There's an awkward pause as she looks over at the others. What was the name again? "... Gensokyo!" As she looks from person to person, however, her gaze once again refocuses on Masakatsu. It's a direct challenge! And...

Also, she'd rather not risk getting shot with giant reflection lasers again. That sucked.
Amaterasu Konoe sighed and shook her head, after everyone had their piece. "Sister, we're not here to fight." A pause. She took a glance at some people. "Well, most of us." She wouldn't name names. "I just want to see mom. She's waking up, isn't she?" Konoe flew closer, unhindered by the spread of gods floating around the sphere. "We just want to witness it. Isn't that okay?"

Wakahirume glared at Marisa. And then her nose twitched. She knew what that was! And immediately, she sputtered. "Are you mad? And who is Wakacat!? My name is Wakahirume! Get it right, Marshtod Krumplethort!" Well, dying didn't fix her attitude any for sure. But at Yuna's polite and respectful interjection, she paused. "......" Her complaints caught in her throat. That was too sincere for her, apparently. "...O-Of course! You needn't do anything! Just stand back!" She looked away, after giving Staren a glare in return for his speech, and then floated back a tad.

"Fan out. Give mother room." She othered the others. Akiyama, Haruyama, Kumanokusubi, and Amenohohi all followed suit, having no complaints. Amenohohi in particular met Alice's glance and then merely adjusted his glasses and turned away. No words were given. He had none to give.

...But there was one who remained. Masakatsu. He continued to float in front of Amaterasu's sphere, staring directly at Marisa. "....Kirisame. You and I have unfinished business." His eyes took on a rainbow glow, and a shimmering, seven colored aura manifested around him. Was he....was he going to do the thing!?

     "Comet - Blazing Star!"

And then suddenly, he rocketed forward, using his mirror as a makeshift surfboard! Cloaked in a corona of love colored energy, he barreled straight for the witch, aiming to tackle her into the sunset! "I HAVE YOU NOW....!"

Everyone else, including Wakahirume, facepalmed. "That fool!" She hissed, watching him go after Marisa. No one else moved to strike, but seemed to be ready to account for their brother's idiodic fixation on vengeance.
Staren     Staren is not quite /that/ thick. "There's a difference between wanting a fight and expecting one." He retorts.

"It's my understanding that you attack anyone else who says your full name. Do you rescind this policy?"

Staren cocks his head at the order to step back, but does so.

As the fight breaks out, Staren raises his arm and fires at Masakatsu... but he does notice that Wakahirume not only isn't joining in, but doesn't approve. Maybe she learned after all! Staren watches Masakatsu, taking any opportunity to end the fight swiftly. It's not like he has to worry about killing him -- he'll just respawn, after all.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is glad to be here she doesn't want to see people going in alone, she keeps moving at this point. She knows it's not going to be long before she's going to get into a spot of trouble, That's just how it goes here but Kotone's making pretty good time as she's going to keep moving. Still she's launching her small scout drones but it seems they run into someone she looks for a moment and foldsher arms.

"That is entirel up to Amaterasu what happens there."

Kotone is not being hostile she's being flat out honest here. Even Marisa seems to not to be wanting fight if the otehr side doesn't pick one first. She also keeps an eye on Konoe in the event she needs support.
Marisa Kirisame Oh.

Oh that asshole /didn't./

Marisa GLARES at Masakatsu has he starts glowing like the proudest rainbow in all the land. "You wouldn't even dare. Not after stealin' my spark--"

HE DARES.

Marisa's expression is one of shock! It's one of revulsion! It's one of... w-why is she smirking?

As Masakatsu charges in, the witch tips her hat, and just sort of... hops and skips to the side. The unnaturally fluffy fox-man blasts past, sending a rippling wave of wind through Marisa's hair and hat! She reaches a hand up to keep said hat down, but otherwise doesn't... do anything. The way that wind is blasting all over, though, does succeed in tearing the stopper out of one of her bottles, though! The world... Suddenly starts smelling very... Minty.

She does lean forward to watch Masakatsu fly off once he races by. "He's goin' pretty fast, isn't he?" Marisa says, squinting off into the distance. "Hey, Wakacat, you need him for anything?"
Yuna Kagurazaka Count Yuna among the facepalming, although she's also taking to the air again even before she lowers her hand from her visage. "Come *on*, couldn't you at least save the grudge match for AFTER Amaterasu is safely awake?!" she complains at Masakatsu. "If you have to call Marisa out, do it as a side thing after the main incident's been sorted out ... !"

He's not going to listen to her, though, is he? Probably not to anyone except Marisa herself. For now, Yuna just comes to a hover, hoping she's safely out of the way, and ready to either conjure Shugoseiheki or go into straight-up evasive if necessary.

The fact that Marisa responds to the attack, not by countering, but by DODGING .... ?

She starts fighting very hard not to start giggling openly. Hopefully that was, for once, the easy solution.
Reina Kinney Returning to her craft, Reina returns to the air again. "Just what I needed," Reina comments sarcastically. "Just what I needed, indeed!" She runs a hand through her red hair, stopping briefly to retie the scrunchee that keeps her long hair in a ponytail. "Looks like it's gonna be some aerial acrobatics again." She brings the craft into the air slowly, but doesn't bring up the weapons systems just yet. "If we can resolve this without fighting, then I'll be happy..." Apparently, Reina is a bit of an optimist.
Kazuko Kawakami Kazuko deflates just a bit when Masakatsu goes on the attack towards Marisa without sparing her a second thought, although... Well, the witch /did/ blow him up with that giant death beam that last time they ran into each other. She's still looking ready to jump into the fight herself, of course, but she holds her polearm in place for the time being as she looks towards Wakahirume, then Kotone and Yuna with a thoroughly confused look on her face.

"So we're not...? Wait, we're all trying to wake her up, right?" A lot of that initial gusto is fading already, the girl's expression instead shifting to a more curious one as she turns to Wakahirume once again. "Hey, Wakaka! Can we try waking her up, then? Maybe it'll be easier if people outside of your family try it!"

Kazuko sounds a little too enthusiastic about the chance to try and force someone awake. At least she's not waving that weapon around anymore!
Alice Margatroid     Alice even joins the facepalm, but when Marisa doesn't attack, she blinks... "Marisa, are you okay? You didn't laser him for stealing your spellcard." She gets a look from Amenohohi and she gives a brief nod before stepping back, giving some room. Well, now what? The Utsuho doll gives a curious look at the goings ons while the other dolls just... stare. "I mean, are you going to laser him?"

Shanghai pipes up, "We can laser them if you want!"
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna asides to Alice, "Maybe she figured that if she lasers him, he'll just steal that too?"
Marisa Kirisame "Nah, nah," Marisa says, waving over at her friends. Marisa is okay, seriously! She has her head on straight. Hell isn't freezing over just yet. "You see, that guy can only copy what he's seen, right? But when I used that spellcard on him..."

Marisa's smirk just grows even more terrible, "Well. I didn't actually turn *OR STOP* until AFTER he got roasted."
Amaterasu Masakatsu tanks Staren's shots, not even bothering to dodge them. They do punch through him, but screw that! He has a witch to tackle into the stratosphere! And by Amaterasu, he's gonna do it! He grins wildly as he picks up perfect RAMMING SPEED, and then gets right in range of the witch!

But then she just hops aside.

"WHAT!?" Masakatsu roared in surprise, looking back barely as he continued to...rocket off into the distance. "WAIT WAIT, STOP NO! DAMN IT MARISA KIRISAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEEEE.....!"

     Twinkle.

     He wasn't coming back.

After several moments of silence, The remaining gods shared a collective sigh. The twins looked off into the distance, shading their eyes with their hands as they did so. "Wooooow! He went so far!" "Is he gonna come back?" I... I don't think so!" "Let's have a moment of silence for our fallen bro!"

Wakahirume rolled her eyes and grumbled to herself about idiots and their pride. "Leave him be." She looked at everyone else present and rubbed the side of her head. "Now...I don't think it will be neccesary to try and-"

     FLASH

Suddenly, the sphere began to crack! That crack spiderwebbed out into more cracks until the orb shattered like glass, dissipating into wisps of magic as a golden light rolled all around, before dissipating as well. Once the lightshow finally ended, what could be seen was...well, the form of a young woman. She was suspended in the air, in a laying position, pushing herself up using nothing as leverage.

She had white hair like Konoe, Wakahirume, and our dear departed Masakatsu. She wore lazily done up kimono, that went off her shoulders. And like the previously mentioned three, along with Kumanokusubi, she had a pair of animal ears, and nine thick, fluffy tails curling around her. "Mmgn..." She stretched her arms above her head and let out a big, slow yawn before her eyes finally opened. They were red. ".....?" Finally, she drowsily turned to regard her surroundings, as well as the figures floating all around. She didn't seem to be totally cohorent yet.

"....Mmn, that was a good nap~" A nap!? "......?" She tilted her head briefly. "....What exactly is going on here?" She took a second glance around. "And where's the palace? Did I sleepwalk again?" She sniffed the air after that. "...What's that smell?"

At this point, Konoe floated upwards in front of the still waking woman, her other siblings watched with excited smiles on their faces, even Wakahirume. "Um...Mom?"
Staren     Staren... watches as Masakatsu just flies off into the distance, first just surprised, then he smiles and chuckles, looking to Marisa. "Alright, I get the feeling you knew that was going to happen, so do you care to explain to the rest of the class?" he really is curious.

And then Amaterasu begins to hatch! Staren watches with interest... He wonders how exactly they should explain what happened, but this touching mother-daughter reunion doesn't need to be interrupted right now.
Sarah Parsle Sarah watches that exchange.... And just laughs. "Wow, sucks to be that guy." She says, shaking her head as she indulges in yet more schadenfreude. Man, Gensokyo isn't so bad, maybe.

Still, then Amaterasu wakes up. There's a blink, and Sarah looks to the divinity, watching her intently...

And then she gives a bow. "Sup thou to thee, Miss Amaterasu." She greets. "Hope you had a nice nap. You should have your kids make you breakfast or something." She says, possibly trolling her immediate family.
Yuna Kagurazaka The sudden flash of light makes Yuna flinch briefly, then look to see what it is - and just like that, as soon as she realizes what *is* happening, Yuna is no longer hovering.

She's not standing, either.

She's *kneeling*, never mind how awkward that is in her Flight Form's boots. It's only after her knees are on the grass that Yuna realizes, maybe she shouldn't be on the same ground as Amaterasu herself ... well, the Sun Goddess seems to still be hovering, so maybe it's okay.

Elner just keeps hovering off to one side, now eyeing Yuna to some extent, but watching the others as well.
Kazuko Kawakami He really did just rocket off. Ah, Masakatsu. What could Kazuko say about him that hasn't already been said? She had been looking forward to that fist fight with him, but... Another day, perhaps. "... Huh. He'll be back! Probably." She offers in a chipper tone, but it's clear she's already doubting that.

Well, at least that's one more issue off her mind. After that moment of silence (martial artists respect those they don't fight, too!), she turns her attention to the orb shattering rather abruptly, covering her eyes and whining quietly at the bright light. Once the haze clears, Kazuko blinks slowly at the sight of the white-haired woman. She looks towards her companions for a moment, weighing her options before starting to step forward. "So fluffy..."

Is she planning on petting a literal sun goddess?
Reina Kinney Once the flash occurs, Reina shakes her head once her senses return. "That isn't... no, it isn't..." Self-denial isn't going to work here it seems. She's seeing the awakening of Amaterasu it seems, and Reina doesn't know how to feel about this. "I just hope I don't need sunglasses," Is all she can say after her voice returns. When Kazuko goes towards the woman, Reina facepalms. "What the hell?!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa sees that Kazuko is more than a little confused but maybe if it's not going to go for half a moment. This does not last much longer and there goes the fight but it does not seem to last for much longer. SHe's not even sure these gods will stay dead. She just doesn't know here and honestly gives up on what was an attempt to not fight, it looks like it's going to heat up, she's going for her rifle however tht's not what she expected at all and she starts to lower her weapon.

"Amaterasu....?"
Alice Margatroid     Watching Mister Copycat flying off, she shakes her head. "Well, that was a thing." Hourai and Shanghai are waving goodbye to the now rocketing off pain int he rear end that was here... Though, when that flash of light is made, she covers her eyes briefly.. "What in Gensokyo?!" she shouts out, waiting for things to calm down.

When she's able to look again, she tilts her head... "That's... Amaterasu?" she whispered, hearing the word 'mom' from Konoe confirmed it. Well, isn't this awkward.

Kazuko's approach gets a curious gaze from Hourai and Shanghai and soon, the two and the other four unnamed dolls bolt from the Dollmaker and try to push the martial artist back! "Hey, what do you think you're doing!" "No no no, don't get close!"
Marisa Kirisame 'Idiots and their pride?' Wasn't Wakacat all about her ridiculous amount of pride just... Just a few days ago? Wow, what a terrible hypocrite! At least Marisa's not jabbing her about it. She's just... Pouring out that terrible, green fluid into a little bowl. It wafts, all minty and delicious, through the air. But it's not /overpowering./ Not yet, anyway.

Not... yet.

She also retrieves what looks like... A tea set, and a little raised platform with an inlaid pattern perfect for setting her hakkero into. Is she planning to... Have tea? Now? ON STAGE SIX!?

TEA ONLY HAPPENS AFTER STAGE SIX!!

Marisa's preparations are cruelly interrupted by THE AWAKENING OF THE SUN GODDESS. She lifts her head, craning her neck back over her shoulder like she was in a Shaft anime. Amaterasu reawakens.

Marisa's conclusion...

She's... So very, very, very fluffy.

"Haaah," Marisa blinks, a mischevious glint glowing in her eyes. "Hey there! Amaterasu, right?" The witch turns, a grin on her lips. "Man, I can really see the family resemblance! Fluffiness must run in the blood." Her fingers twitch. Kazuko's already on it, but... "I..." She steps forward. "You're even fluffier than Konoe, huh?"

"I... Kind of want to--"

SOMEONE STOP HER.
Amaterasu Amaterasu lets out another yawn, covering her mouth with a hand. "...Well." She regarded Konoe first, now that the sleepiness was fading away, the goddess' expression settled into a calm, patient smile. "You are...?" Pause. She floated forward, till she was incredibly close to the catgirl miko, one hand rubbing her own chin. "...Oh! Konoe! I haven't seen you in so long! Come here and let mommy hug you!" Konoe squeaked as Amaterasu abruptly bearhugged her, leaving her writhing uncomfortably.

"Um....Mom? Mom, I...can't...breathe...." The miko wheezed to no avail. Amaterasu totally ignored the girl's complaints and looked aside at the rest of her children. "Ame-chan, Kuma-chan, Waka-chan, Akiyan, Haruyan~ ...." She blinked and looked left and right. "Where is Masa-chan?"

Wakahirume rolled her eyes and waved a hand. "The fool is busy....elsewhere. Think nothing of it. He'll see you later." She sniffed the air herself after, and then looked down at where Marisa was setting up....tea!? But that smell! Wakahirume immediately covered her nose. "W-What you doing, witch!? Why would you bring *that* here now of all times!?"

And then Sarah speaks up. Amaterasu, still with Konoe in her grasp, looked down at the girl. "Oh my, look at you. So cute~" She smiled and nodded. "I had a wonderful nap. And look at all of these people here to greet me! Whatever could the occasion be?" She really had no idea. At the suggestion of breakfast, the goddess suddenly brightened. "Aha, yes! Good idea! Children, see to it!"

Kumanokusubi groaned "Uuuuugh! Do we gotta? I mean c'mon-" Amenohohi simply turned away, dragging his brother with him. "Silence, brother. Come along."

"No! I'm a warrior! Not a cook!" They soon went out of earshot. Wakahirume frowned at Sarah, but sighed and followed, ushering the twins along. Out of earshot, the previously destroyed palace and the crater began to fix itself as if time had begun to reverse. The crater rapidly filled itself in, and the palace structure began to rebuild, literally reforming from the dust that it likely was just earlier.

Amaterasu meanwhile floated down to the ground to keep with everyone, taking Konoe with her. Yuna's kneel with met with a chuckle. "Dear, you don't need to kneel. I'm just an old lady of no importance." That's a lie. "Please, stand." And then came Kazuko. The sun goddess watched her approach, hands reaching. "...If you want to touch them, feel free, dear. Are they that enticing?" She brought a hand to her cheek, feigning embarrassment. "You're going to embarrass this old lady, you know?" But the dolls come and stop Kazuko. Or at least attempt to.

     Welp.

Little did Amaterasu know that Marisa was about to do the same.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna rises back to her feet, blushing. "My apologies if the formality was more than you desired from a mere mortal such as myself ... ah. If you'll permit us to pet your tails, I would be honored to join in doing so, and pleased to bid you 'good morning' after what I hope was a very restful nap."

And if Amaterasu is REALLY okay with having her tails petted, then Yuna will do so. Very respectfully.

(It's hard being a paladin sometimes ... especially when your patron deity is more or less the interstellar counterpart to the goddess of the sun who's standing in front of you and offering to let you pet her tails.)

"I'm not sure if there's anything else we can do to help ... ?" Yuna inquires (while petting, or not).
Reina Kinney Reina is a little uneasy about petting the goddess's tails, but if she insists, then Reina will oblige. She makes her way to the tails and gently strokes them. "They are, indeed, very soft," Reina comments after stroking them. "Very soft. Softer than a Rappy's coat!" Then again, Rappies generally have feathers instead of fur, so it's a different kind of softness.
Marisa Kirisame WELP, SHE GOT PERMISSION.

There is nothing stopping Marisa now. She has permission. That means she can totally go and indulge the terrible urge burning deep in her breast. Marisa practically pounces on one of the tails and immediately buries her face into the fluff. "Ahahahahaha~" the witch actually giggles. GIGGLES. "It's so soft and cuddly! Hey, Alice! Alice!" Marisa peaks up out of the mass of WARM, FLUFFY FUR, "Alice, you gotta get over here and try this!"

She's lost in a world full of fluffiness.

Marisa is gone. Gone forever. ALAS, ALAS, WEEP NOT FOR HER, FRIENDS, FOR SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE NOW.

"Haaah," Marisa sighs, "This is way better than when we had to take care of Wakacat. I bet this is why Chen's always clingin' to that Yakumo fox."
Staren     Staren retracts his helmet visor and smiles, approaching Amaterasu. "You seem friendly enough! If you don't mind my asking... Why did you need to sleep in such a manner, is that just normal for you, being a sun goddess? And what will you do now that you are free?" He... tries to maintain some modicum of serious demeanor while his friends and allies are absorbed in touching fluffy tail.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is looking out at Amaterasu for a moment and seem for a moment she's not sure how this is going to go. She watche as Amaterasu bearhugs Konoe and she is not sure how to cover ahem for the mission deity. Thankfully of all people Waka covers for it. She's not about to speak on about it. She tilts her head for a moment and she does see the goddess has no idea what the otehrs were doing. She seem to start relaxing on things for the moment, as the palace that was nuked eariler starts to reofrm, it' cerainly a site to see. She thinks for a moment and she's on edge is thing ghoing to end out peacefully? Then the offer to touch her tails is given? She'd been curious she admits but was too polite to even enterain asking such. Then it's just offered. There's a look of of confion on her face is clear before she does reach out ot feel one of the tails.
Kazuko Kawakami KAzuko pouts as Alice's dolls push back against her, finally giving in with a dejected sigh. "Aw... But she's so fluffy!" She sounds rather disappointed at that, but at least all sense of urgency and that earlier readiness to fight is gone! She won't be causing a scene, but...

Amaterasu appears to be giving her the go ahead. She does keep standing there obediently, though, nodding slowly at the sun goddess and taking a deep breath before dipping into a sudden bow. "My name is Kazuko Kawakami! It's good to meet you, Miss Amaterasu!" And with that, she resumes her forward advance to try and get to those tails, braving Shanghai and Hourai if she needs to! She's just trying to power through them instead of trying to slip past them, though, and considering how raw power isn't her forte...

Well, that doesn't mean she can't at least give it a shot! If she does get to Amaterasu, though, she'll actually be quite gentle with those tails even as she sticks her face in the floof.
Alice Margatroid     Alice frowns, something just didn't sit well with her as her dolls get pushed away, Hourai and Shanghai moving back over to Alice with tilted heads... "I think I'm fine right here." she mutters when she's offered a chance at touching fluffy tails. Alice just looks over the scene with a slightly confused face... before speaking up. "Amaterasu... you and your ... kids ... have caused quite a bit of ruckus here in Gensokyo with this floating island of yours. Nearly scorched our lands. So could you do us all a favor and move this island? You'll be welcome in Gensokyo.. just not with this huge thing..."

All of Alice's dolls present move back into that six 'wing' formation, she's hovering in the air just a bit waiting for a response from the Sun Goddess, "We would really appreciate it."
Amaterasu Amaterasu sighs and shakes her head, clearly amused at the attention her tails get once everyone gets the go ahead. Unlike certain others, it didn't seem like it was any kind of weakness. She didn't shiver or groan, or anything. She just patiently waited until everyone got it out of their systems.

While that happened, Yuna got a look. "Help? What help...?" Really, she had no idea what you're talking about. She was sleeping! Kazuko gets a smile. "Hello, Kazuko-chan. You're quite cute, you know?" And just like that, she just says it. Not a care in the world.

Staren gets a look. "Oh, hello there." She tilted her head slightly at the question. "Why did I need to sleep in such a manner?" She looked upwards thoughtfully. "Mmn...why did I do that again? ......" "....." "..." Tick tock tick tock tick tock. "Ohhhh, I remember now." She smiled and waved a finger idly as she spoke. "I got tired of watching the world. The people don't need little old me watching them anymore. So I decided to take a nap."

     A pause followed.

"...Why are you asking? Did something happen?" Letting Konoe go at this point, Amaterasu's ears flicked as she brought up the inquiry. "Actually, I have to get an explanation." She glanced at the set up tea and then up at Alice. ".....While I would love to have a nice cup of tea..." She smiled and stepped forward, away from everyone's tail touching. "It seems this girl here has a problem that she needs to address."

She then proceeded to float upwards till she met Alice's altitude. "Oh my, I caused a problem?" She furrowed her brows, a sleeve brought to her cheek. "Have I? I'm not sure I'm aware of having done anything, let me see..." Really, she was asleep. Not conscious. It was all Wakahirume's fault basically! But still she smiled. But somehow, one could feel a bit of tension seething through the air between the two.

"I don't believe I moved Takamagahara, however...if my children have caused you so much trouble, you have my apologies. I'll have the island moved as soon as I am able." The goddess' smile widened a tad. "And if that's not enough...perhaps you need help to work out your frustrations physically?"

Was she offering to duel Alice?
Amaterasu Konoe meanwhile looked up at the two. "Mom! Alice! There's no need to fight!" She looked at Alice. "Mom was asleep, it's not her fault! It's our fault! Really!"
Sarah Parsle Sarah refuses to yield to the fluffiness. That's like, anti-Gloom and there's no way Sarah would survive contact with such soft happy contentment. She does, however, smile as the kids are shuffled off to treat their mother right. KIDS THESE DAYS.

"There was a little kerfluffle. Apparently, your kids missed you and thought shining a /lot/ of sun in your window would wake you up. Instead of, I dunno, making you breakfast and then jumping on your bed like I see kids do all the time in movies." Sarah shrugs. "It was a little messy, but it looks like it all worked out."
Yuna Kagurazaka "I think technically it was more Wakahirume's fault," Yuna observes, "but since we already traded bullets and beams with her, I don't *think* we need to do that again ..."

Honestly, Yuna would really rather not fight Wakahirume a second time, even if she's going to be weaker for not having the Sun Palace for a terrain advantage any more. And fighting Amaterasu herself?

... that's going to be up to Alice. Yuna REALLY doesn't want to fight the Sun Goddess now, especially not after spending a few minutes petting (and admiring) her tail(s). If the doll-user insists on having one last duel to close off the incident, Yuna is probably going to hold out of it.
Staren     Staren tries to patiently wait for Amaterasu's response. He seems to find her explanation acceptable. "Well... since you're asking... Your children, other than Konoe, tried to burn Gensokyo off the map to awaken you sooner. Although we offered to work with them on a way to wake you up without harming Gensokyo, they refused and said gensokyo was so insignificant it should be glad to die for you. In Gensokyo's defense, we fought them, but honestly, we'd rather not have to kill anyone. We just wanted Gensokyo to stop baking and to get Konoe her mother back. The palace was destroyed in the fighting... it seems most of your children have now learned their lesson, at least. And... that's what happened. And so I ask: What happens now? Do things go back to they way Gensokyo used to be? Or are you going to... change things?"
Kazuko Kawakami Kazuko hums lightly as she amuses herself with all of the tail fluff, pulling herself out just in time to hear the compliment. She grins bashfully at that, offering Amaterasu a bright grin in return. "Thanks! You're really pretty, Miss Amaterasu~" A meeting of carefree minds without regard to any age gaps, perhaps?

The martial artist seems quite content, at least, and she shuffles back towards the rest of the visiting group while peering between the sun goddess and the dollmaker curiously. She does look rather excited again at the prospect of a fight, however, especially with one that seems more friendly than actively vitriolic. The discussion of what's actually happened over the past several weeks does get her to quiet down, though, and she shuffles off to the side to listen in. It's a good opportunity for her to try and figure out the more complex goings on in this world, too!
Alice Margatroid     "And here, I was prepared to show you the sun to wake you up, but it looks like it's not needed." Alice gives a soft sigh, looking up towards the Utsuho Doll. She came here expecting a confrontation, and it looks to be that there was going to be none with how everyone was reacting. More so when at least two of them don't look to be even remotely interested in trying to danmaku... one being the Cat Miko.

Alice taps her foot in the air, what would Marisa do? Well, if anything was that, Marisa would already be lasering, but she hasn't... and then there's Amaterasu's apology. If Alice was to go on the offensive, even with the SunMom's comment, how would that look in her favor... She'd probably be no better than Reimu... maybe.

"You know what... tradition dictates we finish this little incident with a danmaku battle. However..." she gives a shrug and turns around "At this point, it doesn't matter. You're moving the island when you can, that's good enough for me..." a pause, "And... you remind me of my mom. The Demon Queen of Makai. All carefree." she turns back to look at Amaterasu, "I'll let you decide, but I'm fine with leaving it at the door."
Marisa Kirisame What would Marisa do?

MARISA WOULD BE CUDDLING AMATERASU'S TAILS, IS WHAT MARISA WOULD BE DOING.

In fact, she's still back there even when Amaterasu gets up to stare down Alice. The witch's location can only be deciphered by the position of her hat's floppy tip when it juts out of the mess of fluffy white fuzz every so often. It's like she's a particularly affectionate shark, which might explain how she's almost always grinning.

She does, however, poke her head out when the topic of Wakacat's terrible behavior comes up. "Oh, yeah," Marisa says dreamily as she rubs her cheek against one tail. "Your daughter was perfectly fine with lettin' all of Gensokyo burn to a crisp until you woke up. 'Course, even that was somethin' I had to do for her. There was this sun in the sky, you see, was there for months. Was probably like, your DIVINE POWER goin' haywire or something. They thought it'd wake you up, but the way the were doin' it, it was baking everyone else too. In the middle of winter, even! The youkai're all pissed off for it!"

"Anyway. I figured that if you needed sunlight to wake up, I'd just grab the fake sun and throw it at you. So that's where your castle went."

It looks like Marisa gets exposition-y when she's cuddling a veritable pile of fluff.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is somewhat happy to see things are not going to end up in a fight she does let go of the tail but who would have ever thought that that she's feel tail like this. She does attempt to regain her compsure and she bows slightly to Amaterasu now.

"I'm Kotone Yamakawa."

She's going to be polite now. She looks to the deity for a moment and paused not certain what was going on here but she does not have any more hostile intent if the issues with Amataerasu's awakening is no longer a problem for anyone.
Amaterasu Amaterasu meets Alice's gaze evenly, and with a smile. Once the Dollmaker made her stance clear, Amaterasu clapped her hand together. "Okay~ Then I have a wonderful idea." She glanced down at Konoe. "We'll move Takamagahara back into the heavens where it should be, and then we'll set up a little base for ourselves on the ground!"

     Konoe blinked. "...Whuh?"

Amaterasu went on. "Since, my adorable daughter seems to be playing miko in this lifetime, why don't we have a shrine? It'll be perfect! Konoe-chan can manage the grounds, and I'll get to sleep all day, and eat fried tofu when I wake up!" ....That sounds so lazy! No Amaterasu, no!

That line of thought was put aside though, much to Konoe's confusion as everyone began to explain. First it was Sarah. "Oh...Oh my. Really now?" And then Staren and Marisa elaborated. "So...my cute little Waka-chan lowered Takamagahara into this Gensokyo in order to wake me up? And she tried to burn the place to the ground in order to do it?"

Her brows furrowed. "That's... Oh dear, I think I'm going to have to give her a spanking later." That aside, Amaterasu chuckled, looking at all present. "I am so, so sorry for what my children did to your land. If I were awake, I would have stopped them immediately. But considering they did this for me..." Sigh. Kids. "Nonetheless, there's no excuse. Please, forgive my silly children. I will discipline them for their foolishness later."

That said, she spreads her arms. "For now though, why don't you all head home, and come back another day? I promise, Takamagahara will be gone from your skies, and we will have a party to celebrate at our new base of operations. I can treat you properly then. Okay~?"
Marisa Kirisame "I have a proposal for that, actually!" Marisa says, suddenly, her head popping back out of the mess of fur. "For punishin' Wakacat, that is!" Marisa's hand shoots out of the tails, carrying... One of those big bottles of mint-green liquid. "She's a cat, right?"

"Well, you're talkin' to Gensokyo's foremost expert in ANTI-CAT COUNTERMEASURES, and this right here is my most potent brew yet!" There's a beat as Marisa struggles her other arm out from where it's been entangled. She lifts a... Camera. "It'll be great, mostly harmless, and she'll NEVER BE ABLE TO LIVE IT DOWN EVER."

"Whaddya say?"

Marisa is grinning.

You can totally trust a face like hers! Really! Honestly!
Amaterasu Luckily for Marisa, Amaterasu is immune to such things as CATNIP and SWAYING PLANTS. However, Waka-chan is....not. None of the others are, really. How unfortunate because the goddess smiled like the chesire cat at the witch's suggestion. "Ohhh, I think I will take it." She reached out, plucking the vial from Marisa's hand, and the camera too.

"I just give her this, and then point this object at her? Ufufufu...I shall make sure she gets every last drop of this~"

     Sunmom was actually a jerk.

     Oh no.
Marisa Kirisame oh yessss

"My only price," Marisa beams, "Is that I get to be there to watch!"

MARISA IS ACTUALLY A JERK TOO

...

Wait we already knew this. How is this news?
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna isn't from Gensokyo, so she doesn't really have a say in the resolution ... but it sounds good to her. So if anyone asks Yuna's opinion, she's got no reason to oppose Amaterasu's proposal.

Still, Marisa's idea of 'revenge' against Wakahirume ... well, Yuna brings her right hand up to try and cover her mouth and chin, but it seems like she might be giggling.
Staren     Staren shakes Amaterasu's hand when her arms are held out. "Sounds like a plan! I hope you guys have fun making your shrine..." He looks between Marisa and Waka-chan. "Hmm... personally, I think that she's learned her lesson is more important than punishment... we want her to be a better person in the future, not start a neverending revenge fued between you two... but I guess, whatever you want, huh? I'm not your Mom." He nods cordially to Amaterasu and walks to the edge of the island before leaping off.

He has magic wings, so he's going to go fly a bit for fun before leaving Gensokyo.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa guesses a parent is a parent even if mom and the kid are gods of one stripe or another. She is however happy to see that Amaterasu approves of what her daughter is doing and fgully relaxes now nd it shows on her face. She just starts to wonder though for a moment. Amaterasu then does something many deities in the multiverse might not do. Own up to things and that's enough for her as she also gets the idea there will be help coming or at the very lest the kids learing it was not a good idea to discount 'lesser' beings well being. She actuall laughts a ltitle bit.

"I ... think I will be happy to do that Lady Amaterasu."

She klooks over to Kotone with a amused look on her facve but she's clearly happy about this has played out.
