Scene #3962: Race to Burgle!

Ruby and Cobalt	A pair of lasers shoot up into the sky from a pair of sleek motorcycles, the twin robo bunnysuit girls race into the area, skidding to a halt as the twins eject off their rides with a pair of rifles that have underslung missle launches upon them. "Okay, now where are they... trying to interpose on OUR mark, Cobalt. The Gofers need these bits of tech so we can upgrade the Perla Meralda!" A laugh comes from the blue suited girl, "Of course, Ruby! Let's show them that our vacation didn't dull our skills! Besides, I've wanted to try Search Laser for a LOOOONG time and this is a very perfect opportunity!" a pause is given, "You can have twin laser, ust let me have homing missile!"
Starlight Bandits	The Museum of Technology! It is, as the name implies a museum for technologies spanning several ages. From exhibitions on things like ancient aqueducts and Archimedes' Screw, going into the Industrial Age, modern day, and even technology from other worlds that isn't sold locally yet! All in all, a massive place, good to spend a day learning and walking about. Ruby and Cobalt burst through the glass doors into the entrance hall! It's a two-floor affair, circular with several large models of various aircraft string up overhead. It makes for an interesting exhibit, as they have been hung to scale based on how high they go. So you have the likes of the Wright Brother's plane at the bottom, then Apollo 11 at the top. But above them is a skylight. One that suddenly explodes, sending broken glass raining down! Two figures drop in, one landing on a model of Sputnik 1, the other on a zeppelin. And then, both figures strum a Spanish guitar aggressively. "We arrive, floating in like music in the air..." "Like the ballad of the cosmos, dancing between the stars... Upon closer inspection, both figures are wearing ponchos and sombreros. Also, their faces are dominated by large, fake moustaches that match their hair. Yes, even the obviously female bluenette has a luxuriously waxed fake blue moustache. "Irvine Lune!" "Molly Crescent!" "Together we are the STARLIGHT BANDITS!" They strike a dramatic pose, the strumming reaching a climax! And then, they both point down at Ruby and Cobalt! "And we shall stop your destructive spree!" "Yeah! We were here first, and we're going to steal things!" And then, they leap from the models! Dropping down towards the two bunny girls... swinging with those guitars in synchronous overhead strikes!
Ruby and Cobalt	Who needed that amazing looking stained glass window anyways. Probably Ruby and Cobalt if they were careful, then again, careful wasn't something they really cared about. "Oh, hey, look at the silly aircraft. How did those humans manage to fly those." "The Core Ships are so much better at this anyways... more aerodynamic and they have weapons too..." "Yeah, they do!" But when the skylight explodes, the twins look up with the missile-wielding laser rifle pointed up. "What..." comes a synchronized voice from the twins. "That's a lame intro speech you have there, Starlight Bandits." Comes Cobalt's voice, "But hey, at least you two are cute, maybe we can take you into Contra Burger sometimes for a date~" a pause is given as Ruby looks at Cobalt with a frown. "Sis, they're here to stop us. Stop flirting with them." "Well, can we shoot them then?" "OF COURSE!" the twins grin but when they leap and swing with those guitars... CLANG the guitars hit overhead and send the pair stumbling back briefly. "Wh.. hey, that's not right." "Let's do this, Twin Missile!" Ruby fires, and out of the single launcher... two missiles streak off in the direction towards Irvine as the bunnygirl rushes off into a direction, firing the twin laser in small bursts! Meanwhile, Cobalt runs off in the other direction, "Homing Missile! Search Laser~!" Cobalt fires off a single missile out of the launcher that tries to home in on Molly while the laser is fired... at random. It shoots past Molly before making an abrupt 90 degree turn to fire again right at her!
Starlight Bandits	With a vicious smash, the two guitars actually shatter upon making contact with Ruby and Cobalt! These two are a pair of clowns, but they're strong clowns! As they touch down, both of them drop something at their feet. As they are fired upon... FOOM! The smoke bombs explode, concealing the two in thick black smoke! Of course, this doesn't stop the missiles and lasers flying at them, but it does obscure exactly what happens. Molly lets out a "YEOW!", presumably from the homing laser. Suddenly, the missiles go off, the burst dispersing the smoke some! Did they survive?! A series of gunshots ring out, but nothing goes whizzing by Ruby or Cobalt. "Molly, let's go!" Footsteps, running further into the museum! They're somehow aliv-what's that crashing noise from above? Those gunshots were aimed upwards, at the wires suspending the aircraft. And now that several have been shot out, the highest ones are falling, bringing those hanging lower with them, to crash down on the entrance, and the two bunny girls!
Ruby and Cobalt	Eh, smoke? Well, crap. Androids they are but they don't really have anything to SEE in them. Well, this makes this difficult. Homing Missile and Search Laser need a target to see... well... so does Twin Missile and Laser. Oh well, they'll just deal with it the old fashion way, by running head long into it. Though, the twins stop just a moment, the gunshots ring out and the twins duck and cover... but they haven't been shot... no wounds. "Well, they suck at aiming." Creak... creak... the twins look up... "Oh..." CRASH! the aircraft crash down on the twins, burying them in plane parts and the like... and while the dust settles, the ears are twitching out of it. "Ow." "Okay, that... I think was clever... but Cobalt, they're getting away." "I know but... we have rubble to deal with." There's another explosion around the plane parts and they're scattered everywhere. "Missiles are good at clearing out rubble, Cobalt" "... yeah." once the twins are free, they start to chase... "Hey, that's our stuff we have to steal! Get back here!"
Starlight Bandits	Even though the two have managed to give the androids the slip, they're not exactly being stealthy. They've run into the Paleolithic exhibit, which explores man's ancestors and the simple tools they devised. Mannequins dressed in furs and clutching shaped rocks and regarding fake fire warily stand behind velvet ropes. Irvine and Molly are in the process of snatching up those stones when Ruby and Cobalt burst in. Molly has a hole on both sides of her poncho that must have been caused by the laser, but it must have cauterized the wound because there's no blood. Irvine is covered in soot, and his sombrero is on fire. "Irvine, I really like the looks of these guys!" "I concur! Perhaps we'll do a future heist in furs!" They seem to be far too distracted by their discussion to notice the two. Perhaps they can get the drop on them!
Ruby and Cobalt	Well, they don't seem to have noticed the twins yet so, this is a good thing. Ruby grins and ducks behind one of the podiums and Ruby hides behind one of the dinosaurs in the exhibit. Over their own internal radios they start chattering as a grin encompasses both of their faces... <So, shall we rock them?> <I think so, but I kinda want to bring this thing down on them. We don't need dinosaur bones, do we?> <No, I don't think we do... go ahead. I'll distract them with a homing missile.> A few seconds later, a THUNK is heard from across the room... a missile is fired into the air and it doesn't seem to do much, just on a lazy path to the roof... a quick lazy path to the roof, exploding into.. Confetti? It's this time that Cobalt fires a laser into the dino-bones, moving to disrupt its stance and to let it fall down like a house of cards onto the two. "WE'RE NOT DEAD YET!" she shouts, running off a bit to get into some cover... they had guns too... Ruby, on the other hand, dashes out of her cover and starts firing lasers at them, might as well try to distract them so they can get... femur'd!
Starlight Bandits	This world actually had cavemen existing alongside dinosaurs, which would explain why there is a t-rex skeleton set up here! This one specifically has injuries corresponding with a human hunting group, making it relevant! The missile exploding into confetti certainly draws the two's attention as they crane their necks back to look at it. "Get used to this kind of thing Molly. There'll be parades for us one day!" "Oh how wonderful~!" And then, lasers! They both look surprised, dropping those rocks as they attempt to weave through them, even as the skeleton crashes down on them! When things settle, they've manage to avoid being skewered... but they're stuck inside the ribcage cavity. "I-Irvine... it finally happened... we're BEHIND BARS!" "Ghhk... I'm sorry Molly... I tried everything I could to avoid this fate for us..." "OH IRVIIIIIIIIIIIINE!" "MOOOOOOOOOOLLY!" The two collapse into each other's arms and sob!
Ruby and Cobalt	Ruby and Cobalt laugh heartily as the bunnygirls approach the ribcage bars. "Well, we know who the better villians are, now don't we?" comes Cobalt. "I mean..." Ruby smiles and picks up some of those rocks that were dropped... but with no pockets... "We'll just... get our stuff and go and leave you here for the police." "Ruby, are you sure that's wise?" "Of course it is!" with the two moving away and their backs turned, they start to gather up things around the area... of course, no tech around this part makes it interesting to go through but... The most important part is that their backs are turned and their weapons are at their side as they load up on loot in the area. "I wonder what the Gofers could do with this stuff. It's not that important but maybe we can do something with it if they don't...."
Starlight Bandits	The sobbing starts to slow, and the two speak again. "It's okay Irvine... at the very least, one of us needs to escape..." "Molly, wait, n-" Molly bends down and puts her hands under Irvine's foot. And then, in a single smooth motion, she stands and brings her arms up to launch Irvine into the air! For a girl her size, this shouldn't really accomplish much. And yet, Irvine is launched upwards, blasting through the ribs to soar into the air above Ruby and Cobalt! "For Molly!" he bellows, drawing a weapon! It's a kukri, but there is a pistol built into the handle, which he uses to rain shots down upon the androids. Meanwhile, the impact of Irvine against the skeleton has created a gap for Molly to walk through. "Freedom~!" She looks over to Ruby and Cobalt, actually creeping with some degree of stealth. It's the same tactic they used against them, something loud in the air to distract from something on the ground. But in this case, she's creeping up on them with a hatchet, which she swings to try and bury into Ruby's shoulder!
Ruby and Cobalt	Ruby and Cobalt smile, humming happily as they exchange looks of content and 'we did it' between each other. After loading up on fun things, the two start to make their way out of the museum but the loud thing in the air distracts them, looking up as Cobalt takes a pistol shot into the shoulder, knocking her and her Fairly Stolen Loot (TM) down to the ground. "He...hey! What gives there! We stole this stuff fair and square! Get back in that cage now and wait for the police like good little people you are!" Meanwhile, Ruby herself doesn't notice the creeping Molly and the hatchet is buried into the shoulder, causing the bunnygirl to scream out. "RUBY!" Cobalt jumps up and rushes over towards her sister... "Let's make them pay..." the twins whistle... and an ominous rumbling is outside as Ruby tries to shove Molly off of her. "Get off of me!" Ruby shouts as she flails at least one arm around to try and smack the girl! Outside, a large gunship makes its appearance over, facing its bulk towards the Museum. The Perla Meralda! "Now, if you don't want to be buried under rubble and missiles, you'll leave this place and we'll consider this a draw, but... we can't make promises that we won't send a lot of missiles your way because we love your cute little faces~!" "If you two wern't stealing the same mark at us, we'd totally want to have a good time with you two, maybe taking a mark together as partners~"
Starlight Bandits	Molly clings to Ruby with a degree of tenacity that exceeds her slight build. Those blows only make her wince and purse her lips together, before releasing the hatchet to try and adjust her grip and grab Ruby's good arm. As for Irvine, his flight path leads into a pillar, but he manages to stop himself with his feet and leap off once more! This allows him to drop straight down to slash at Cobalt with the blade! "Bring your ship! Bring your explosives and weapons and bring this whole place down! The Starlight Bandits never give up! The Starlight Bandits don't fall for flattery! The Starlight Bandits will carve their names into history!" "What Irvine said~! Don't think we won't hold back because you're cute either!" And then, as if to prove she's not joking, Molly arches her back, pulling Ruby with her to try and suplex her!
Ruby and Cobalt	Ruby's taken by surprise when that clingy woman is still attached to her like some crazy ex girlfriend hell bent on making her life hell. This could be a problem. However, the Perla Meralda's here and ready and, this being COBALT's Ship... she'll let her have the fun... this time. Ruby's good arm is grabbed and she whines out, "Hey, let go, Clingy! You're gonna make it fall off!" comes her protesting as she rapidly swings back and forth! Even trying to run her back into a wall to get the parasite off of her! Meanwhile, Cobalt reaches up to grab the falling Irvine, a grin across her face. "Well, I think your reign ends here. Shall we finish this? Perla Meralda, full salvo!" Cobalt's ears twitch and the loud roaring hum of missiles, an undefined but obviously too many missiles start to converge on the Museum, intent on burying four people inside of the ruins! "I hope you two have an escape plan like we do." she laughs a bit, "In about ten seconds, we'll all be buried under rubble... and maybe exploded.. possibly." "MOst definately!" comes Ruby's remark as she tries to flip Molly off of her... "I said GET OFF!
Starlight Bandits	The missiles fly, and the museum begins to crumble. Pillars tumble, the second and third floors start to cave down on the first! This little burglary just went really bad! And in spite of it all, Irvine and Molly are smiling. Even though the former is in the grip of an android and the latter is being slammed all about. "The Starlight Bandits always have an exit plan! And I bet you do too! Molly!" "Yes oof! Irvine?" "Keep hold of her and don't let go, no matter what! We'll meet up later!" "Okaaaay~!" At that moment, Irvine releases one hand from his kukri to reach under his poncho! He extracts a small, silver staff which he lightly touches against Cobalt's arm. And suddenly... bip They're gone. =============== bop The bandit and bunnygirl find themselves on the side of a desert road... somewhere. "Okay! Since the burglary was called off, I think you can release me now!" She might want to, actually. That sombrero is still on fire.
Ruby and Cobalt	Well, so much for the Museum, right? With the third and second floor crumbling, the twins smile. "Well, we can just get rebuilt... when was our last back up..." they both mutter, shaking their heads a bit. "Guess we aren't burgaling anything today then!" they grin, "Shall we finish this?" Though, with Cobalt now dissapearing from sight with Irvine, Ruby blinks... "Cobalt? Cobalt?! Where are you!? Where did you go!?!" the one (working) armed Android spins around and clutches Molly tightly, an angry look upon her face... "Where did you take her...!" Ruby shouts at Molly, dragging her away or was it her latching on and getting absconded with, details... "Where is she and where is your partner!?" Ruby looks up, the first floor roof is collapsing and, if she was to find her sister... she needed this one alive. With a very not happy sigh, she starts running, with the attached Molly, towards the exit, hip firing a missile at the wall to make a new door. "We're going to get out of here and we're going to find my sister... and your... brother, nd we're going to finish this little shenanegan once and for all!" Meanwhile, at the desert road, Cobalt blinks as she's transported, along with Irvine, to a strange location, something definately not where they were. Dropping Irvine, she takes a look around, "HOw... how did you do that?" she asked, "And... i guess the burglary ... was called off. Didn't really expect to have another duo try to take the same mark... Funny how that is, right?"
Starlight Bandits	"I dunno! Our getaway just takes us where it wants to go!" is all the answer Ruby gets out of Molly. She makes a pouty face at Ruby while glaring defiantly, but brightens up considerably when Ruby talks of finding them. She even lets go and walks alongside her through the hole in the wall! "Don't worry, it always takes us somewhere safe. So they're probably fine and looking for us as well! Here, let me get that for you." She reaches out to yank the hatchet from Ruby's shoulder, even as the museum collapses behind them! "That went well~" ========== "Hahah! The power of our Terminal Getaway allows us to instantly escape any situation!" Irvine declares as he tucks away that silver staff before taking off the sombrero, dropping it on the ground and stamping out the flames. "But! By now, our partners have likely escaped the museum and are looking for us! Come along, let us see if we cannot find them first!" And with that, he begins to walk along the desert road, keeping an eye out for any rides to hitch a ride with.
