Morrigan      In the corner of a bar on the edge of the Multiverse, Noemi Laporte sits. By the looks of things, she's set about getting her fill of food and drink that isn't standard-issue rations. She looks much the same as she always does, out of the cockpit - dark-skinned and slender, fey-like, with eyes that simmer with some terrible coldness.

Idly, she flicks a bottlecap between her fingers. "Hey."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr looks much the same as she does when not out fighting. TSAB BDUs, the 493rd patch on the shoulder and left breast. Boots clomp on the floor as she approaches the pilot. "Yo, Noemi." she offers in return, making a gesture to one of the wait staff. It's a simple thing, index finger pointed upwards, then rotated in that near universal 'repeat' signal. Seems she's fairly regular here.

The Mage takes a seat across from Noemi, then sets her Device on the table, the coin chiming gently. <Greetings Sublieutenant.>
Morrigan      "Hey you," Noemi tells Divine Wind. "So," she continues, "This place is kinda cool. Better food than anything in First or Second Fleets. Probably Third, too, no matter what Calder would say. You okay?"
Zephyr Windstar     "Surviving." replies Zephyr, leaning on the table, as a bottle of Marchian sake and the cup to drink it from is brought over, along with a bowl of rice with various vegetables and little cubes of meat in it. "This place is pretty cool, yeah. Kinda appeared one day, and lets you in if you open a door while thinking of food, drink or company... kinda freaky the first time it happens." she chuckles, and cracks a brief smile. "Some non-Euclidian shit going on there."
Morrigan      "Weird how that works, but it works," Noemi says. "I'll try not to think about it, or dream about it." The meaning of that is obvious - no one wants to tell the Fedayeen.

Noemi reaches into a pocket and fetches out a selection of caps. There's dozens, from all sorts of bottles - Martian beer, Earther spirits, more. She begins dividing them out into two piles.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr pours herself a measure of the sake, then takes a sip of it while the caps are divided up. "How're you holding up?" she asks, leaning back in her seat and pulling the bowl of rice, along with chopsticks, over to start eating.
Morrigan      "Felt good to get back in the cockpit," Noemi replies, sliding Zephyr's caps to her. "The Ainsarii handles well. Remarkable stealth capability. Remarkable antimatter ordnance. I could remark on /that/ at great length."
Zephyr Windstar     "Yeah... they moved almost as good as the Val'Coranth back home." replies Zephyr. "They're the creature that my title comes from. 'Wind Dancers'. They never land. They dance through wind currents and only come close to the ground when hunting prey." she explains, making a small gesture and causing a cap to lift off the table, bouyed by a tiny, controlled gust of wind. "If you ever find one on the ground, it's either dead or dying."
Morrigan      "Sounds like an accurate comparison," Noemi replies, turning a cap between her fingers while she watches Zephyr's little trick. "Do you wanna start, or shall I?"
Zephyr Windstar     "You can start, I'm enjoying this too much." replies Zephyr, before diving back into her rice bowl, the levitated cap doing little twirls and spins in the air at the whim of whatever Zephyr is doing.
Morrigan      "Alright, let's see..." Noemi begins, sliding a cap to the middle of the table.

"I think I'm completely insane. A wreck of PTSD and childhood psychosis who should have died at Saturn."

     Well, that's a big opener.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr looks over the lip of her bowl, still shoveling rice and other noms into her mouth.

When she finally brings the bowl down, it's half empty, and she's sporting a few clinging bits of rice, which she quickly wipes into her mouth with a thumb. "I call bullshit on that. You think it on the surface, but you don't truly believe it." she retorts.
Morrigan      "You got me," Noemi says, sliding a cap over. "After all, if I'm dead, I can't finish my list. It's funny. Back when all this started, I used to tell Uncle Manuel that the Tevs were just like us. Well- What am I saying? You're up, Windstar."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr ponders for a moment. Sliding a cap out into the middle as she speaks. "I think I should have blasted the Imperieuse instead of the Carthage. Maybe then all those people wouldn't have had to die."
Morrigan      Noemi watches Zephyr for one second, two seconds. "I think that's true. But Al-Da'wa said that the loss of the Carthage has forced Steele to reconsider his strategic plots, giving the Fedayeen more room to maneuver. Makes it stop feeling like murder, doesn't it? Makes it feel like a transaction... Spend lives, obtain goal. There's a certain Admiral who gets that, I think."
Zephyr Windstar     "Yeah, you're right." replies Zephyr, then leans back again. "Steele... what I wouldn't give to have five minutes alone with that bastard." she remarks, then smirks. "Back atchya, Laporte."
Morrigan      "The Fedayeen say Al-Da'wa can match Steele. Maybe it's even true," Noemi says with a small shrug.

Then, "I'd pull the trigger on him without any remorse. The same for any Tev."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr looks at Laporte. "That your go?" she asks, then smirks. "I say it's true... but on a condition. You're a caring person deep down, Laporte... I'm sure you'd show some mercy... even to a Tev."
Morrigan      "I... don't know, so, I guess it's enough for you to get another cap." Laporte flicks it over the table to Zephyr. "Sometimes I think about the ants. Like, if the worlds of the GTVA were anthills beneath my feet..." She trails off. "Anyways. Give me something to call."
Zephyr Windstar     "Okay... something lighter." offers Zephyr. "I believe the UEF can win this war."
Morrigan      Noemi shakes her head, giving Zephyr a look. "I'll call that, false. Even if I want to believe it. Steele's good."
Zephyr Windstar     ".... yeah..." replies Zephyr, sliding the cap over to Noemi. "He's good... but no matter what we think... with the Fedayeen, we have a fighting chance." She picks up her bowl again, then sighs. "Well, so much for lighter, huh?" she asks then, before diving back in.
Morrigan      "The Fedayeen are four fighters, a Narayana-class frigate and whatever they've got stashed behind that platoon of combat armor - that CASSANDRA thing," Noemi points out. "We can go somewhere, hit a target, force Steele to alter his plans... but if he just decides to push his fleets in... I wonder why he hasn't."

Noemi leans back. "This is only the second grimmest game of caps I've ever played. No, don't call that."

Pause. "I think I loved Simms."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr is watching again over the lip of her bowl. Those mismatched eyes searching Noemi's. She finishes, wiping the rice clinging to her cheeks again, and sets the empty bowl down for the waiter to take away.

She's silent for a long time, then sips her sake. "True... and you still do." she remarks.
Morrigan      Noemi just nods and slides over another cap. "The Tevs have killed or driven mad everyone I've ever known. Mom, dad, Kassim, the Wargods, Simms... I have to know /why/." She watches the waiter come, watches him go, and reaches for her bottle of some sort of alcohol.
Zephyr Windstar     "Out of the Fedayeen..." begins Zephyr. "I think Falconer is the most likely to break under pressure." she says. "You can call that one."
Morrigan      Noemi nods. "I think that's the truth. Vidaura's the most dangerous. She's like Karen - you remember her? - but it's like she'd be looking for any excuse to hurt me. Kovacs? I'm not sure what's driving him."
Zephyr Windstar     "I remember everyone." replies Zephyr, shrugging a bit, and pouring herself some more sake. "They were all good people... war is hell and I hate it." she then props her head on a clenched fist. "Okay then, your turn again."
Morrigan      "I don't remember everyone," Noemi replies. "If I think about them, I realise I'm forgetting their faces. Like I'm becoming someone else."
Zephyr Windstar     "Not gonna call that one." replies Zephyr, standing up and walking around to place a hand on Noemi's shoulder. We'll get rid of whatever Ken is. Then you'll be free to be the you who you want to be." she then makes a gesture, the coin of Divine Wind floating up and over to her, which she snags out of the air. "I gotta go now... stay safe."
Morrigan      Noemi just nods. "I'll be as safe as possible, given the circumstances, and I'll be in touch when Al-Da'wa tells me anything new. Stay okay, out there, alright?"

She lets Zephyr go, and remains lurking in the corner of the Multiversal Bar and Grill, thinking about ants and sharks.
