Scene #4524: Have you seen this boy?

Steven Universe	It's a sunny day in Beach City, and Steven is sitting on the porch of his house, reading a fantasy novel. The house is in a state of mild disrepair, showing signs of recent combat damage that has been hastily patched. His cell phone rests on the porch beside him, his Cheeseburger Backpack acting as a backrest. There is currently no sign of Gem presence otherwise, but nearby a pink Lion plays in the ocean waves.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone has seen some very dark things as of lte, she also needed to find Steven. The young boy who had flat out saved her hide during an attack on her world. IT had taken the young woman a bit of time, going about flashing pictures of him about town. Though she did make a stop while looking for Steven at the local donut shop, it wasn't Timmies but? Lars and Sadie the two employees had been very helpful in directing her this way. She'd be comming up towards the home of Steven Universe munching on a donut as she goes. Though by this point the town would be aware of a strange lady looking for Steven Universe!
Steven Universe	While Steven's maybe not the most observant person in the world, he is aware enough to notice when someone comes around the edge of the bluff that separates the Temple and House from the rest of Beach City. Looking up from his book, he reverently puts a bookmark in it and sets it down to stand up and see who it is. "Oh hey! You're that lady from the rock concert battle! That was pretty weird. I'm glad you're okay, it got pretty scary at the end there."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa gives the young man a wave and finishes off her donut, looking rather doofy in the process. "I am my name's Kotone Yamakawa I never got to thank you. I got hit pretty bad and was out of it for a while after. Things have been so busy, I'd not had a chance to thank you till now." She pauses for a moment offering up the box of donuts she has. "Donut?"
Steven Universe	Steven chuckles, walking up to accept a donut from the box. White iced, with colorful sprinkles. "I didn't really know what else to do. I really didn't think it was a battle at first, Lion brought me there for the rock concert. I think? I'm never quite sure what he's thinking... Anyway, I'm glad I could help! I still don't know what the whole thing was about, but that sad lady had all these weird black drippy head things. They kinda reminded me of Centipeedle, with the drippy stuff." He takes a bite of the donut with a blissful grin. "Sadie and Lars have the best donuts..."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "I could see how you'd think that it was just a really showy concert. As for what they wanted? They were stealing medical waste...but what the heck would they want to do with medical waste like removed body parts from cyberentic implation that were unfit for organ donation. May I ask what is a Centipeedle?" She'll take another donut for a moment. "Eh they are not too bad but I like another chain but it's not operating here. Still I haven't got as many strange looks here as I'd have expected to."
Steven Universe	"Body parts?! Gross, hahaha! People are weird sometimes. We get plenty of weird here in Beach City, between corrupted Gems like Centipeedle, and alien Gems attacking and trying to wreck stuff up. Centipeedle is a green Gem. She turned into a sort of centipede that spits acid, but she's really nice once you make friends with her." He takes another bite, savoring the donut. In the distance, the pink Lion has curled up on the sun-warmed sand.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Well yes, what do you think happens if someone gets cyberntic parts? Humm the Gems? I run into one Jasper was her name." She pauses for a moment tilting her head. "So your saying this Centipeedle was once like Jasper or the other Gems? What could ... cause someone to degenerate like that?" She takes a bite and enjoys it while she doesn't /need/ to eat it is a pleasure she still seeks out and enjoys it.
Steven Universe	"Well, yeah, I mean, the corrupted Gems are Gems, but for some reason they've lost who they are, and I think they're hurting and it makes them mad and the lash out with magic Gem powers and turn into monster. The Crystal Gems have been poofing them and capturing them for more than five thousand years, but we haven't figured out how to really heal them..." Steven seems sort of sad about this last part. "We don't really know what caused them to change the way they did, but it must have happened after the war with the Gem homeworld."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa listens to Steven as he explains a bit more. "Shapeshifters who have lost their sense of self and heir sanity? I see why the Crystal Gems are capturing them alive. They are injured and sick. Not monsters right? Still the multiverse is a huge place maybe you and your friends will find insight into how to heal them right? Hopefully someday something can be done. The woman fidgets slightly for a moment as she thinks. No idea at all? There's got to be an answer out there somewhere, it will just have to be found. Still they have done a good job with capture and containment. Given the world doesn't seem over run with them openly.
Steven Universe	Steven grins, "I guess they've had a lot of time to practice. Heheh. But yeah, that's how I feel about it, they need help. We protect people from them, and we try to protect them from themselves, and some day, we'll figure out how to heal them. Especially now that we have Mom to work with!" His eyes seem to light up at that, the thought that through some quirk of the multiverse he gets to really get to know at least a version of Rose Quartz.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "I'm gladpeople like the Gem's exist who don't use their powers only for self gain. Though I admit self aware alien gems? I never saw life like that coming and I have seen some very crazy things in my time exploring the multiverse. Family's always good to have around she was the ... large woman with pink hair right?" She seemed to have caught site of Rose before she passed out during the raid. "So do you get about the mulriverse much and would you want help in trying to figure our or find the means to cure the fallen Gems?"
Steven Universe	"Yeah, the Gems are pretty amazing. And you got it right, my mom is Rose Quartz. I mean, the mom that made me was Rose Quartz Universe, because my dad is Greg Universe. It's... still kinda complicated." Steven looks a little confounded at that, a serious expression that looks surprisingly out of place on such a childish face. "The whole multiverse thing is complicated too, it's almost like a hundred video games are suddenly real. I wonder if Golf Quest Mini is really happening on a world somewhere... Well, anyway, yeah, if you have any ideas or know anyone that might be able to help heal the corrupted gems, that would be great! But you might want to talk to Garnet and Pearl and Amethyst about it, because they've actually been dealing with them a lot longer than me, and they know a lot more."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa Says "... I'm going to agree given how different the make up of your father and mother likely are. Still it seems you came out of that and that seems to be a good thing. It really is Steven. Oh I will talk to them before I intend anything and as for fiction being real? It's likely out there somewhere maybe not as you know it but it's our there. Just don't get too crazy if you run into someone from it." She'd suggest never ever search your name on the multiveral net but she figured it might inspire Steven to /check/ to why so she doesn't bring that up.
Steven Universe	"Aww, you like me!" Steven says in a sort of singsong voice, chuckling. "But yeah, I'm meeting enough interesting new people by accident, I think if I go looking I'll probably get lost forever. Did you know there's a world where magical ponies rule the world? And there's dragons and stuff. Perdiot said the dragon eats gems, she was pretty worried, but I don't think he'd eat one of us. Rarity wouldn't hang out with someone who was mean like that. And there's a guy with weird high tech armor, and his daughter can do this thing called earthbending, and metalbending... I don't even know where that sad angry lady with the black tears stuff is from, but it must be a weird one."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes I know of it actually, I work with someone form there on occasion. Honestly I can't fault her for being worried about that. That's be like hearing something thought humans tasted good. Ah Rairuty I heard of her she's a hell of a fashion designer from what I know. I don't either but it looked like she walked out of a Heavy Metal Cover..."
Steven Universe	Steven chuckles again, "Lion brought me there when I was telling him I wanted to see a heavy metal concert like the music Dad says Mom used to love." Said Lion continues playing in the surf, walking on the water and pouncing waves.
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Well we should find you a safer metal concent or metal to listen too though are you not a bit young for your typical metal concernt? Even hte safe ones can get a bit wild. Then again I can't project energy shields and such. Though I betcha I could jack into and clean up any computers you own pretty good."
Steven Universe	"I am? I mean, there's an age limit? Huh. I just kinda like music in general, so it sounded interesting. What do you mean jack in though? Is that like logging on? I don't have a computer, Dad might have one in his storage but it'd be pretty old. I have a game system, and my cell phone, that's all I've ever really needed. Peridot has a tablet, she's really into computers and technology."
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Sometimes at concernts it depends if they are selling beer there or not really. Jack in? Kinda I'm a cyborg Steven. I got hurt very badly when I was younger and most of my body had ot be replaced. Oh I see I was just making an offer if you did have one. Ha must be a pretty nice smart phone then and she really does seem to be into tech. Also I haven't heard of her causing much trouble in the multiverse anymore either. Is that your doing?"
Steven Universe	"Oh, wow... I'm sorry you got hurt. But, does that mean you're like Dogcopter? Can you fly and shoot missiles and stuff?" Steven's eyes get starry and filled with wonder, until Kotone's mention of Peridot causing trouble distracts him. "Peridot? Oh, she's actually pretty nice once you get to know her and she stops trying to kill you. I haven't really seen her since we talked in that pony world. Did she really blow up a museum?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "I can't fly though I can air dash thanks to some mods a friend gave me as payment for a job. Missiles? No I don't like carrying explosives in my body to be honest. Though I can do a few other things. As for her? Haven't seen to much of her ot be honest but I stopped hearing about her causing problems and I don't think she's working for the Confederates now. That's good for her health to be honest." Kotone pauses to pull out her own smar phone then tugs at her neck to pull a cable out of it and plugs it in. She's seemingly doing something with her phonewhile she talks. She's however looking at steven. "I'm not with the union so I don't have access to their reports I'm afraid."
Steven Universe	Steven looks thoughtful. "You know, I never thought about it like that, I wouldn't wanna walk around with bombs in me all the time either. That sounds way too dangerous. Pearl would get really upset I bet, too."
