Li Syaoran Li Syaoran had decided to visit this academy. He'd heard good things about it, from the channels. So of course he'd prepared to arrive right on top of it.

And, as such, there had been a malfunction and he was about three miles out. He had no idea where he was. "Hello?" he called out. After a moment... That was a biiiiiig black stone doggy.

The sound of lightning could be heard and seen as it crashed down on the beast.

Moments later Li could be seen running for his life from a slightly charred, pissed off monster, his Jian still strapped to his back as he raced away towards the city.

Today was not a good day.
Yang Xiao Long     Vale City Watch, Grimm Response Unit HQ, Perimeter Watch Tower 23.

"Hey, they natural gate just activated... get the telescope over there."
"Looks like a kid stumbled through, alert the response uni---- Dust and Aura did you see that?"
"Of course I did, I think the whole city saw that... he just pissed off that Beowolf though, and the rest of the pack are coming after him too."

    Beacon Academy.

"Duty Hunter Team, urgent deployment, Extraversal citizen in danger north of the city. Beowolf pack lead by an Alpha. Repeat, Duty Hunter Team, urgent deployment."

Yang leaps over the railing at the top of the airship dock, and lands hard on the plate below. "The rest of Team RWBY aren't available, I'll be going in solo... I think I know who it is too. Lets go."

About five minutes after the lightning strike, and the fleeing for his life, a tall, blonde teenager comes falling from the sky, smashing a golden armoured fist into the back of the charred Alpha's head, cratering it into the ground and making the thing begin to smoke and evaporate. "Bad doggy, no biscuit."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran skidded to a stop, before letting out a sigh of relief, before turning to her. "I had it handled," he said firmly. Okay, not true. He crossed his arms before... "But... thank you for the assistance." Awwww, Sakura was a good influence on him.

He then walked forward and held out his hand. "I am Li Syaoran, a pleasure to meet you. I... believe I am in the right world. I am searching for a place called Beacon Academy?" he asked. He didn't smile, he just kind of scowled. His default expression. How did such a nice girl like Sakura end up with--

He blinked. "There's more of them coming." Ah, gotta love magic sensing. He drew some talismans from his coat and tossed them out, forming a four point wall. Now, they didn't look like much yet. He drew his Jian. "I take it you are the defenders of this world?" As... let's say eight of the pack beasts appeared from the bushes. Lunging at them. "Obey thy command! God of Thunder, come forth!" Lightning erupted around them, using the talismans as their point.

Now, it didn't kill them, but it did momentarily stop them, putting them all nice and stationary for Yang.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang stood after her little airdrop. The Bullhead overhead says over loudspeaker. "I'm heading to the LZ, get there ASAP." the voice is youngish, and male.

Yang nods, and lifts her Scroll, a small smartphone-like device, up to respond. "Got it Ochre, keep the engines running, we'll be comin' in hot." She then turns as Syaoran approaches, and does his little thing. She shakes his hand in her own firm grip, thankfully the gauntlet on that arm collapses so she's not crushing his hand with the metal. <Huh, he sounds like Weiss....> she thinks, but says, "Yep, right place, I'm Yang." At the call of more, she turns, bringing her fists up. "Too many to take on solo---"

Well, that's convenient. "Right, I'll bust some heads, but then we gotta /move/ this'll rile up the whole area and we won't be able to hold 'em all off forever." She says, before charging in, shotgauntlets blazing with kinetic blasts as she punches the Beowolves, earning nice, hefty cracks with each strike. Until the last one, which manages to shake off the stun just before the Blonde Brawler gets to it, and dodges. Bringing claws raking down her back as she flies past. "GYAH!"

She stumbles, drops to a knee, but just as the Grimm descends to finish her, it's blasted back by a corona of heat and light. "YOU MONSTER!" comes the nearly unintelligable scream from the Huntress as she stands, turns and proceeds to beat the everloving stuffing out of the Beowolf, far faster than she'd been moving thus far.

Syaoran would see three things about her now. First is a shimmering Aura that surrounds her whole body, orange-yellow and boiling like flame. Second would be her hair has begin to literally glow gold, with 'flecks' streaming out of it as if it were ablaze. And finally, her eyes have shifted from their original lilac hue, to a baleful red which smoulders from within.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran moved forward to protect his comrade, lifting his Jian up. Then, all of a sudden his eyes went wide and he took a step back, his magical senses alerting him that... something was about to happen. A moment later she went completely... THAT! He stared, his eyes wide. Well, she was definitely not like Sakura, that much was true. Maybe she was related to Meiling? Or at least something like--

His magical senses warned him a moment later. He whipped around just as a new one of them lunged at him. He caught its claws with his Jian, before his own foot kicked out. While it didn't have her particular force, it was still enough to knock the creature back. His sword came out and his left hand shot out. "Obey thy command! Petals of wind, come forth!" It sent the creature flying back, hurtling through the air wrapped in winds.

He turned to her and nodded. "I think you're right. You are the native, I'll follow where you lead." Already the talismans had burnt up, leaving smoke and a bunch of bodies, and more grim already on the way. His magic was fun and powerful, but boy was it loud.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang shifted position as the Beowolf literally fell apart under her barrage. She points eastward. "Clearing, two hundred yards. Run. I'll catch up." It's obvious in the clipped words, that she's barely containing a volcano of pure rage under a thin veneer of eerie calm. As a huge black bear comes crashing out of the western treeline, she turns, and with a heavy overarcing punch, sends an explosive bolt to stagger it. "Go!"

Once the younger guy starts running, the blonde turns to follow, only pausing long enough to smack a Grimm aside to clear the path. "Ochre, two coming in, multiple Grimm in pursuit. You better have your head on!"
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran nodded and actually did as she said, running off the moment she said to. After a few moments though he grabbed three more talismans, throwing them out. Once Yang had crossed over them, he turned for a moment. "Obey thy command! Earth titan, come forth!" A wall of stone rose up behind her. A moment later there was a thump as one of the grims comedically slammed head first into it. Unfortunately, for them, it only stopped the one. The others just leaped around it, slowing for a few seconds. Li was already running, however, and he was actually quite fast. At least for a human.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang keeps running, then when she catches up to Syaoran, she unceremoniously scoops him up, and with a blast from her free arm, launches both of them through the treeline into the clearing, where the Bullhead is waiting, engines already hot and the side doors open.

"About time! C'mon, CitySEC called in a Nevermore heading this way, we've got about two minutes before it's on top of us!" comes Ochre's voice from the aircraft. Yang sets her legs, and throws Syaoran onto the craft, before firing herself up into it with another pair of blasts from her shot gauntlets. "Go go go!"
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran let out a yelp when he's picked up. His cheeks turned bright red. And then they were flying. Why were they flying? And then HE was flying. He slammed into the opposite wall of the ship, crumbled down a moment later. "Ow," he managed to say, before slowly getting up.

She landed by him a moment later and, once the aircraft began to lift up, he was silent for a long moment. He sat, his legs crossed and seemed to be deep in thought. Finally, he spoke up.

"While your methods are a bit... rash and... over the top, uncouth, I cannot deny their effectiveness. And... i do owe you gratitude for assisting me in this encounter. While I'm sure I would have survived, it would have severely taxed my resources and likely required me to cut my visit short. So thank you. Please do not throw me again."

Now, that might have sounded rude and a bit insulting. But from Li, that was borderline ranting and raving about how awesome she'd been. Even gushing. He then slowly got up, slightly shaken and holding the wall. "I am Li Syaoran, of the Li clan. As our introductions were cut short, a pleasure to meet you, miss...?" He paused. "Also, are you familiar with a Yang? I came here to meet with her and find out more about this academy."
Yang Xiao Long     <Yep, exactly like Weiss.> she thinks with a smirk on her lips while the boy's going on. She then puffs out her chest. "You're talkin' to her. Yang Xiao Long, Huntress in Training." she replies, then peeks open one of her eyes again. Between blinks, it turns from red, back to lilac, and the aura surrounding her seems to fade to a much more subtle form, though is still very much there. "We're heading back to Beacon right now, in fact, I'm the duty responder for the northern sector. You kinda got lucky you popped up in the Emerald Forest, and not futher out in Forever Fall or over in the Broken Steppes."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran blinked a few times. Well, that was fortunate. He couldn't beleive hsi good fortune, arriving practically on top of the woman he'd come here to meet. "Ah! Yang-chan, then. A pleasure." He bowed politely, his fist in his open palm. "I must admit, my expectations had been quite low, but while your style did seem a bit unrefined, your magical power was exceptional. I can tell that you must be an incredibly powerful warrior in these lands. I would enjoy the honor of testing myself against you some time, if you would permit it." He then stood up again. Well, at least he was polite.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang smirked again. "Sure, I'll be happy to throw down with ya some time." she gave in reply, hands on her hips before the Bullhead gave a heave to one side.

Ochre says through the intercom, "Better strap in, that Nevermore is chasing us. We're about thirty seconds from the defense line, but I'm having to take evasive action." The suggestion is punctuated by the dull scraping of something VERY LARGE and VERY SHARP against the fuselage, Thankfully the outer doors slid closed on take off.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran blinked a few more times. Throw... down. He couldn't deny her verbatage was quite... interesting as well. Still, he was looking for someone with strength, not vocabulary. And she seemed to have plenty.

And then he reachedout to grab the wall, a moment before the ship heaved to the side. Seeing a split second into the future was nice. Unfortunately, it just meant he might know they'd die a few seconds earlier. He grabbed the straps and turned to her. "Will this vehicle survive an assault from that creature or does it require intervention?" he asked, one hand already reaching for his Jian.

For being just a kid, he was very calm about the whole impending death thing.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang braced on the wall, then hauled herself into a seat. "Ochre's the best pilot around, and the defense line'll keep the Nevermore away." thump, scrap. "We're lucky it's only hurling feathers at us, and not trying to dive bomb us out of the sky." She seems pretty confident. "It'll be dinged up, probably need to get paintwork redone, but we'll be fine." she adds, leaning back as the craft performs its evasive maneuvers, dodging through the storm of hurled feather-spears... until the muffled booming of some large cannon makes itself known, the distant unearthly wail of some massive creature joins it, before Ochre calls back again. "We're clear, heading to Beacon landing pad. Thank you for flying, Nevermore Airways." he finishes with a cawing sound from the back of his throat, which earns a chuckle from Yang. "Dork!"
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran sat down and strapped himself in, following her example. Or at least trying to. He kept his arms crossed, listening until the sounds of the cannon went off. Once it did, he let out a sigh of relief, before looking to her. "It seems you live in a dangerous world, Yang-chan. I'll endeavor to make future visits more carefully."

He then glanced towards the pilot, then back to her. "So the huntress' are part of the military in your world? I suppose that makes sense. Soldiers would be a part of the union."
Yang Xiao Long     "Huntsmen and Huntresses are... I suppose you'd call us 'Special Forces'? Once we're done training, we travel all over the world, inside and outside of the four Kingdoms. Going where need calls us, protecting those who can't protect themselves... that kinda thing. Atlas is the only kingdom with a real, standing military." Yang shrugs, relaxing in her seat. "Oh right, not a local... The world of Remnant has four Kingdoms. Atlas, Vacuo, Mistral and Vale. They're built in the lees of mountain ranges, and surrounded by thick walls and defenses. The rest of the world is infested with soulles creatures of darkness. The Creatures of Grimm... they've plagued our world since before recorded history... but we've managed to make the best of it."

It's an uneventful flight after that mad-dash.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran nodded, a frown on his lips. "I see. Then I imagine this entire... multiverse event must have been seen as quite a boon for your world, yes? Many new allies, not to mention new homes for those who can no longer fight." He crossed his arms. He actually sounded a little sad for them. "I am sorry that your people have had to endure such hardships. But, if nothing else, it seems it has led to strong, capable fighters. So not all is lost. If every soldier is as strong as you, I imagine the beast we encountered must not have been the worst of it."
Yang Xiao Long     "Yeah, those were small-fry... you did a good number on that Alpha though, normally takes more than a punch like that to fell one of them." remarks Yang with a grin. "Y'wanna hear a funny story? Initiation for new first years at Beacon, means you get launched off the top of the Beacon Cliffs into the middle of that forest. You come back alive, you start training." she leaves the alternative unspoken, but it's pretty obvious.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran blinked and then nodded. "Of course. A creature such as that would be child's play to one of my clan." He said with just a hint of pride. "Though... dealing with it, and all of its allies at the same time would... not be quite as easy. Really? The... middle of that forest. And they toss... children."

He frowned as he thought about that. "If that is... indeed the method, it seems quite wasteful. I assume your training must be incredible if many of you survive an initiation like that. Even before it properly begins."
Yang Xiao Long     "It's a dedication thing. Huntsmen and Huntresses don't just happen, they start training as soon as they can... I started learning how to fight with my fists when I was six years old...." she turns a bit somber. "I wanted to be like mommy..." she shakes it off. "Anyway, I went to Signal Initiate School, then applied to Beacon Academy when I graduated."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran nodded, crossing his arms. "Ahhhhh. Okay, yes, I can understand that. As long as you began at such a young age, then that would make sense. My own family did the same, they started my training in martial arts and magic as soon as I was able to walk." He comes from a rather strict family. "Though, our world is far more... benign compared to this one. The only true threat we've had were the Clow cards and they..."

He turned a little red. "And Sakura ended up being the one dealing with those..."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang leans forward a bit in her seat. "She sounds like a good kid." she offers, "And despite all the grouchiness, I can tell you're a good kid too." Leaning back in her seat, the blonde chuckles. "We should be landing soon, I'll give ya the tour."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran nodded, then glared at her. "I am NOT grouchy." Oh he had a stick up his butt bigger than that fancy sword of his. Still, he at least tried. "And that sounds delightful. I'd like to see your training facilities, in fact."
