Kutsuuko Shiratori     Thankfully, the call hasn't come from far out of the Branch. As Blood Unit is almost a brand new arrangement, and with Friar base still on the way back for a rendezvous and pickup, the best places to build experience and earn a salary are all near enough that the Aragami are less ferocious, due to frequent culling by the God Eaters corps. Though posted as a simple clean up operation of various small types at risk of forming a herd, something has clearly gone wrong.

The husk of the metropolitan urban area that lies to the northeast of the Far East Branch is still only visible on the near horizon, almost blocking out the dusky sunset with its remaining height, save for the myriad, perfectly circular holes eaten through the entire cityscape. The engagement seems to have taken place on in the cracked and sun-scorched wastelands outside, where nearly all signs of habitation have corroded away, been buried in sand and iron dust, or else outright eaten, leaving only crags, rubble, and a few empty shells of buildings.

Originally unremarkable, the area is not so much anymore. Visible from the short flight over, a significant section of the ground, big enough to put a large boat through, has crumbled and caved in on a weathered sinkhole long forming under the surface, where thick cement, rebar, and former city grid has eroded under the blowing dust and fallen into a lower level. The collapse is recent enough that grit still blows on the hot, stale breeze, but the underground looks cavernous enough that it's still almost entirely dark, even in the late evening sun. It looks much too big to be a subway track or the like.

Also visible from the air are the three God Eaters already present, dealing with a small horde of those bone white Ogretail creatures and some kind of flying jellyfish things, though surrounded by a larger number of corpses and bullet holes than living Aragami.
Zephyr Windstar     "Blood Team, this is Threshold 1-5 actual, inbound on your position. Requesting sit-rep. How copy, over."

Zephyr is flying in under her own power, Mistral Form in her hand, and Barrier Jacket already cladding her body. She wings over, and begins descent while feeding power into the blade of her Device. Trailing a purple line of energy, the Mage descends on one of the jellyfish things, aiming to slice straight through it on her way down to ground level. <MISTRAL CUTTER!>
Reinhardt Wilhelm     "REINHARDT, INCOMING!"

The lionhearted tank of a man's arrival is announced with his armored frame falling from the sky like a bomb. Predictably, he's going to impact just as hard whether he hits an Aragami or not. He's aiming to smash onto one of the Ogretails by the time he lands, his hammer raised. "HAMMER...DOWN!"

    Yeah, Reinhardt isn't very subtle.
Mel Brock     'Something has gone wrong.' Boy, that's a phrase Mel wishes she heard less often. But at least this time she can't be accused of causing it with her rotten luck.

In silence, Mel takes in the scene below - the blasted husk of the city in the distance, the utter desolation here; and most especially the big cavern recently uncovered, and the trio still in the middle of a fight. The psychic frowns faintly; this is definitely not just a light practice run.

"...alright, I'm not gonna wait for the landing. See you folks on the ground." And she's out the door.

The first thing she does when she jumps out of the aircraft is to pull her coat off and whip it around. It suddenly unfolds itself as if growing rigid, flattening out into a platform she can plant her feet on. Her drop speed slows immensely, but still remains fast enough to get her down towards the ground in short order. But she doesn't even wait that long to start. Her right hand comes up, and the air develops the very faintest of ripples.

A half-second later, an immense, crushing force slams into one of the Zygotes.
Tomoe Tomoe had heard the call for help and was quick to respond to the attack She has the basic idea of the terrain and is going to be coming in by air. She can see the ruined urban are below her severl God Eaters are already on sight and she also notes there's some monsters already that they are engaging. Tomoe will end up swooping in right after Reinardt as she does so, with a Naginata in hand and will just start attacking alng side Reinhardt.

"Not bad for an old man at all! I like your style!"

She says nothing more as she focuses on joining the attack.
Camilla Ulyssa     Camilla appears, rather suddenly, out of a column of light that blasts out of the ground following a circle full of runes forming there. Now that she's been here, she can just teleport in as needed, which is a lot more convenient than jumping through gates until you find the right one, and then having to fly to the specific site on top of that.

Hovering in the air, flying idly, she assesses the situation quickly, glancing at the flying jellyfish-like creatures and wondering if those are tougher than real jellyfish or not. There really is only one way to find out.

    "I'm feeling punchy today, Mars."
<Form - Pugnus. Try not to get bored too fast.>
"No promises," Camilla replies to her swords-- err, gloves. Fas Rota, the pair of blades she typically carries around, has already shifted into a pair of large metallic gauntlets, glowing blue with power.

    Then she punches jellyfishes.
Large beams shoot out of her punches, too.
Let's find out if these are tough.
Lenka Utsugi      From the ground, one of those three God Eaters leads the charge, large, turquoise blade reared back as he let loose a furious sideswipe, smashing the flat into a charging Ogretail and sending it flying into a small group nearby, before the pulls on the handle of his oversized weapon. It changes shape, reforming into a gun-like shape before the boy takes aim and fires at the point of collision with a burst of flaming bullets. "Die!" He roars angrily as a small explosion follows, burning that group of Ogretail to a crisp.

The handle is pulled again, and he switched back to blade form. Just in time to roll aside and avoid a blast of air from a Zygote. "Tch-!" A voice in his reciever catches his attention then, and he looks up. First he spies some girl flying through the air... followed by a large man in armor... And then a...Civilian with odd powers? Wait, was that some kind of fairy? Wow. Not exactly the backup he had in mind. But he's take it. A hand comes up to his ear, pressing on the receiver. "Acknowledged. Clearing the immediate area." The boy states, getting the hell out of dodge riiiight at Reinhardt drops in. Literally. And smashes right into into an Ogretail. And then Mel crashes into a Zygote with that odd force of hers. And as Zephyr slices into another one. Sheesh.

...Wait who was that person that just burst out of the ground? What the hell?

Lenka takes this time to check on both Yuko and Ciel, while this arrival of reinforcements gives them time. "Are you two alright over there?" He asks, not sounding terribly concerned, but making sure all the same. Gotta look out for allies. Else you might end up dead.
Yuko Minami Fighting Aragami isn't so bad. Dangerous, sure, especially with the ever-present threat of being caught off guard and suddenly missing a limb or three. It's exhilirating, though, and that's showing in Yuko's ever-present smile as she swings her scythe through a small group of Ogretails surrounding her.

"There's quite a lot of them today, isn't there? Mm... I'm fine, Lenka! So this is what it's like to fight on the field for real~" She might seem a little too happy as she swings that oversized farming-implement around, whipping it around and almost seeming like she's dragging it forcefully through each and every Aragami it touches. As odd as the weapon is, it seems to extend to nearly triple its normal length during the attack. "Is everyone holding up alright? Our backup should-"

And then there's cutting. And slamming. And more cutting and slamming and also lasers! "-be here soon. Good to have you with us!" She chimes in as pleasantly as ever, drawing her God Arc back for a quick shield defense against an Ogretail's charge. Instead of striking back at it, however, she simply holds the God Arc in place as it shifts forms, and then she appears to be... Loading it?

Reloading, even. She has to charge up that Blast Gun somehow.
Ciel Alencon     Ciel makes the least outwardly excited of the three God Eaters on-site. She's also the furthest back in the formation, such as it is. Her God Arc's formed into a gun that looks slender only in proportion to its length, greater than the wielder's height, that nevertheless causes no issue in her swinging it from target to target, letting off single shots as she fires from the hip, the weapon's grip being more like that of a chainsaw than a typical sniper's rifle. It's surprisingly accurate, though not every shot hits through to a critical enough point to take out the target.

She's trying to focus on the flying enemies ('zygotes,' sometimes described as a fusion between a screaming woman and an egg, with a single, enormous eye), but the situation of being surrounded means she's also forced to morph her weapon, the barrel retracting and a 'short' blade taking the fore, as she dashes between attacks and simply tries not to let the ogretails get quite into the middle of their formation. That she can't stop the airborne enemies from doing so--and they'll attack with sudden, physical charges as well as air blasts--was why she was trying to take them out first.

"No injuries. Stay focused on the front and flanks," is her response, "and keep them from getting behind you." She looks up as help arrives. "Reinforcements." Her voice is still soft into the headset, and probably not audible to anyone working without a radio under these circumstances. "Please clear the air, first."
Yuna Kagurazaka Airdrops have their good points, but given that Yuna was just finishing a recording session when the call came through, she didn't exactly have time to get on her cruiser, or on anyone else's aircraft for that matter. What she did have time to do was transform into her Light Suit and combine with one of her partners, then hurry for the closest warpgate to where she was starting - back in Shiraokadai, on her native version of Earth.

It's probably just as well that the fastest way to the warpgate was in Flight Form, given the aerial population of Aragami when Yuna reaches the operation area. The Matrix Divider appears in her hands and she flies up to start engaging the 'jellyfish' things. "Elner, check the database, where do I need to aim to blast through the core?"

The little robo-faerie whom she's addressing is actually hanging well back from the fray; Jiina and Marina are more visible than Elner is, and they have visible weapons readied - whether to help hold a perimeter or to just contribute extra firepower where they're needed. And while Elner is skimming through Fenrir's Aragami database to match the 'jellyfish' up with known Aragami types, Elner is *also* taking stock of the battlefield - whether Yuna might need to shift to a different target, or anything.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Getting closer, the floating jellyfish things are even worse than they looked in the distance. Though they bob and swarm about with remarkable agility, they have no obvious means of propulsion, mostly consisting of a bloated sac of black flesh, dominated by a single, massive, reptilian eye, and ornamented with what looks like the figure of a white angle crucified across the front, partially absorbed into the mass, only a silently screaming mouth visible.

Unlike the Ogretails, they are not very well armoured. Though something can be said for their toughness as attacking the flight sac and cyclopean eye yields more blood and gore than 'bursting like a balloon', and Elner finds that their cores are very predictably at dead center, which makes for an easy target. Ambushed from higher above, the Mistral Cutter rips one down to its boneless center and cracks its core organ to cripple its flight. Another is shattered under the pressure of its owner's semi-gelatinous body as Mel crushes it from all sides with her tremendous telekinetic force, flopping to earth with another bloody thud. Punching at them for Camilla is a little more difficult, like trying to land a solid strike on a bowling ball that keeps bouncing away, but the beams that fire out on contact rip solid holes through them until eventually one finds the core and blows it to smithereens, causing another creepy eye to glaze over and a lifeless blob to fall over. Subsequent targets are thereby easier.

Despite being tougher, the Ogretails don't fare much better. Reinhardt and Tomoe had both been present for training sessions against them, and so the avatar's naginata has little trouble getting around the thick plates and through the soft throats and under-legs to cut out their vital organ(s), and the unlucky creature Reinhardt lands on has only a second to goggle upwards with an open-mouthed snarl before being utterly pulverized on landing, partially splatting like a sturdy grapefruit.

The briefing had mentioned something about 'before they form a herd', and it seems to be indicated by the swarm's total lack of organization. As more extra troops join the fray, some of them turn to engage, scatterings of meter long bony spines flying every which way, followed by charges from snapping jaws, and the zygotes adding their eruptions of poison gas to the mix, before swooping down and revealing that they are, in fact, 75% mouth, as the angel splits down the waist and opens up a giant, mimic-like, fanged maw that is highly advisable to avoid. Were it all focused on one person, they might be in trouble, but each of the Elites has only to tackle a few at a time, meaning that they can steadily chew through their numbers with repeated, well-aimed strikes.

The God Eaters are predictably in their element, easily tying up half of the mob from previous combat. Even as rookies, the common and populous small types are breeds they've been well trained on, and their God Arcs rip through them like cold meat, or else incinerate chunks of their bodies reasonably accurate shots. The third generation designs start out with much more developed biological insides than monsters of this level have, which makes it easy to take off limbs and heads with single swings from their specialized weaponry.

Ultimately, five minutes of fighting makes for an unnervingly chaotic massacre, quickly littering the landscape with bear-sized corpses, the earliest of which are already starting to disintegrate into that crawling black fog that oozes along the ground like an oil slick before fluttering away. It's a little bit of a wonder why reinforcements were called, until some different noises than the steady hissing of evaporating blood start up.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     From the ragged hole in the ground, a couple of human faces can be seen peeking over the ledge by clinging to the rusted rebar. Young and old, male and female, they look pale, haggard and scared without exception. A man who should probably be thirty but looks sixty manages to crawl out, despite the way his frayed and bleached clothes hang from his stick-like frame. "Is . . . is that it? Are they gone? Heavens above-" his gratitude stops in its tracks for a second, with his lips twisting as if he'd just swallowed something sour. "We thought that was the end of it. The Aragami never bothered to look below here, but there's so little to find up above that I was wondering if we'd all starve to death first." He finds the closest person he can, which turns out to be Camilla, grabbing hold of one of her hands with both of his, in a stick-fingered but surprisingly steely grip. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
Yuna Kagurazaka It's distinctly possible that those were some of the five most hair-raising minutes of Yuna's life. Once she got close enough for a good look at the Zygotes, she found out very quickly just where they keep most of their teeth. Fortunately, the central locaiton of their cores made it pretty easy to make them regret trying to take a bite of Yuna, although it did highlight one drawback to Flight Form.

Specifically, while Yuna's flying armor gives her incredible maneuverability and lets her dodge a lot of different hazards, the Matrix Divider is essentially her strongest weapon - the pulse-blasters in her vambraces are good for laying down a lot of fire, but the individual stopping power of each shot is pretty lousy.

Even once the fighting has subsided, Yuna stays airborne, keenly aware of the adrenaline coursing through her bloodstream; she's too keyed up to touch down, let alone *think* about separating from Erina just yet. She might have to do so anyway ... but for now, she remains in flight, flitting around in fits and starts, keeping an eye out as best she can. It's Elner who flies over to the hole in which the civilians were hiding ... and rather than venturing down, Elner just begins scanning to get a count of how many refugees are hiding down there.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr dances around the Zygotes, jinking her position and aiming more empowered slashes through the blob-like bodies of the flying Aragami. She's very agile, even for an Aerial Combat Mage, but even she takes a few glancing blows from the sheer number of bone spikes being flung around by those Ogretails, a rent appearing in her 'combat skirt', before drawing back, and with a twirling swipe, launches a spinning energy blade to cut into one of the ground-based Aragami.

Five minutes, and several confirmed kills later, Zephyr pants heavily, a hand over her chest as she winces from something straining inside. "Sit-rep. Everyone alive?" she calls... and then she sees the faces at the hole. "Falkaria... Ops, we've got civilians on the ground out here."
Camilla Ulyssa     Sticking to the skies, Camilla only has to worry about the Zygotes. Poison gas and more teeth than a shark (though that's arguable, as scientists still debate on whether or not a shark is 99% teeth and 1% skin holding it all together into an elegant killing machine) are nothing to laugh at, but the effects of the former on her are a bit diminished by her clothes, generating that protective field around her at all times.

She still gets out of that relatively unscathed, or at least nothing got past her clothes. Impacts might have still hurt a bit, but when she finally lands she doesn't seem concerned. If anything, the fox seems eager for another round, only to find out there are no targets left.

And so luck has her dealing with the civilians, for whom she seems to have little empathy, despite the man's insistance to grab her armored hand and all. "Sssssuuuuuure? I mean, I was going to punch these things to death one way or the other. So you guys hid underground, huh? Pretty clever if you know for a fact they never go there. Aren't you worried if there's a single one still watching they'll figure it out though? Might not be able to pull that trick on them twice."
Mel Brock     The descent of Mel Brock slows to a stop just over the ground, quickly enough that her legs bend with the G-force but not so fast as to cause her any problems. She immediately hops off the coat, and it leaps up into her hand, wher she sweeps it around herself and back on. The fight from there is mercifully short, and-

Oh. Oh, there's civvies. Oh /boy/.

"We're glad to help, sir," she calls out to the man, slipping into a more formal tone almost by reflex. "But sit tight for now, alright? We're gonna get you to safety, but that's gonna take a few minutes to hash out." Speaking of which, she turns her attention to the God-Eaters on-site. Ciel and Yuko she already knows; Lenka is new. "So what's the game plan?" This comes in a lower voice, not projected for all the world to hear.
Yuko Minami Yuko continues to use her strategy of swinging her Variant Scythe in massive arcs at the Ogretails and occasionally reloading her God Arc, relying on her allies to handle the flying threats. As the Aragami's numbers die down, however, the brunette the a few more rapid and wide-reaching swings at the Ogretails before realizing that there's very few of of the creatures left.

"Is that all? I was hoping there'd be more... Oh well. At least we're all done without any big injuries. Is everyone okay?" Her tone and expression are as pleasant as ever, a stark contrast from what she's doing with her God Arc. Namely, drawing back the more weapon-looking part of it as a massive black mouth starts coming out of the front of the device, eventually extending outwards to literally take massive bites out of the fallen Aragami that haven't dissipated yet.

"That went a lot better than expected.Hmm... You didn't kill any Aragami on the way here without us, did you~?" Hearing yet more unfamiliar voices, Yuko glances over at Ciel and Lenka, then gestures at the hiding civilians before approaching them with her God Arc lowered. "There, there. Is anyone injured? We've got bandages and things, and..." She pauses to listen to both Francesca and Camilla, that ever-present smile not cracking even a little at the latter's implication. "Oh, that's true... Well, I'm sure the Far East will send someone out in no time~" She gives Mel a light nod at that as well, then turns to Yuna.

"Do you see anyone else from up there? Or anything?"
Reinhardt Wilhelm     Reinhardt lands like a bomb as promised, the unfortunate Ogretail he lands on coming apart with a mess amid his feet. He doesn't stop there, lashing out with his hammer at the nearest Ogretail in sight, before the fight ends just as he gets warmed up. "Huh, much quicker than I expected." He muses, sounding slightly disappointed.

He throws Zephyr a thumbs-up when she asks for a status, "I'll be fine, this is just routine." He says, chuckling before he approaches the man, nodding. "Just doing our job, good sir. Is everyone alright?"
Lenka Utsugi      "........"

With the hostiles finally and eventualy dispensed with, Lenka straightens up, lowering his God Arc after devouring whatever cores he could from nearby corpses. Then, he turns to assess the situation, moving forward to meet the refugees. That is, after eyeing them severely. Of course, he knew that this wasn't a huge surprise. People hid out in all sorts of places now to avoid the Aragami. He knew very well...

"Everyone's alright?" He asks, taking a moment after to look all about warily. Something could have been missed in all the chaos. After assessing the situation, the boy looks on ahead at the haggard man. "Are there more of you down there?" Another question posed, with his God Arc pointing down into the sinkhole for emphasis. "If there is, you all need to get out. This place isn't safe for you anymore."
Ciel Alencon     The rest of the small-type Aragami are taken care of. Ciel's God Arc morphs back into sniper form, and she scans along the ground and sky from one direction to the other, then turning to look at her teammates, first, and the reinforcements, immediately afterward. The faces are mostly familiar. The ones that arrive last, are less so.

"Civilians? Here?" Ciel looks surprised. They're not far from the Far East Branch, after all. Anyone who could have gone there should long since have already done so, if they were hiding out this close by.

Her radio crackles. "... Civilians? ... Understood. I'll relay this to Far East Command." That would be Fran Francoise Francesca de Bourgogne, the operator from Friar.

Ciel subtly checks herself for injuries, though she doesn't recall anything quite coming close enough to hit her. Her memory is correct, this time. Nothing did, and all joints move as they should. The movements of these particular Aragami are well-known to her, but it would have still been a problem had she let her guard down, even with help.

"No problems here. Ah..." Right, what SHOULD they do with the civilians? 'They can't leave them here' is... wrong, but she has no standing orders for the situation. They cannot, at least, take them to Friar, even if it were close enough for that to be practical in the moment. On the other hand, "That is correct. This location will no longer offer any safety."
Tomoe Tomoe is wading into the thick of the right along side Reinhardt, or so she thinks. She also very glad she went for the lessons on how to fight and take these things down. Without such lessions she'd lerned frm that and she keeps up her attack going for the vital points on these horirble alien monsters. Given the warning from the briefing? It sounds like these things could get organized which wouldn't be good for any one here's well being.

She keeps up with her attacks until the last of the things re dropped. She takes a moment to catch her breath for a moment.

"I'm all right I was about to aqsk you the same sir."

There are however people likely in need of help here and she's going to do what she can.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Elner can get a good head count of at least two dozen crawling out into the open, squinting at even the mild sunlight for the first time in what must be years. There may or may not be others further inside, but the obstruction of the intact ceiling elsewhere is exceptionally thick and difficult to scan through.

Rather than a subway or sewer line that one would expect to be overrun by now, it appears to be some sort of local water grid, probably providing and recycling to the general area instead of needing old fashioned water treatment plants expensively piping it all over the city. Being that closed off, there's no way Aragami would get into it, as the only way to enter and leave is for a human to crawl through the almost dry pipes, possibly for miles. Most of the pumps to deliver it elsewhere have been taken out and scrapped to make room for a kind of ghetto base, divided up by walls of sheet metal, but largely consisting of frayed blankets, old military crates, electrical lanterns with thrice taped wiring, and meagre supplies organized around the damp pool that is a rare and fortunate source of renewable water. It looks less like a post apocalyptic town, and more like a crappy panic bunker that ran out of canned beans a while ago.

The starved and greying man still doesn't let go of Camilla's hand though, practically trembling as she shakes it up and down. "Even so! We owe you people our lives!" He then shakes his head. "No, it wouldn't matter. We can't stay any longer anyways. All the places where the pipes come up we've either already exhausted, or all the food and medicine and spare parts have been devoured already. I doubt anyone is left alive in the metro. Is the United Nations base still around? It looks like that Fenrir corporation finally invented some weapons that actually work!"

At the talk of extracting them to somewhere else, much of the crowd begins the sniffling and crying that comes from people being being rescued from a plane crash in the mountains. At Lenka's command, they all begin eagerly climbing out of the hole, with children being boosted up by their parents, though none under the age of ten are to be seen. "There are some sick, but we didn't have anything to treat wounded. They're . . . gone now." The guy admits to Lenka, finally releasing Camilla.
Reinhardt Wilhelm     Reinhardt nods. "We will be able to extract you once we find a secure LZ, nobody will be left behind on our watch." He promises, popping his neck. "We uh...we're not from around here, actually, but we're here to help regardless of that."

He will be looking after the refugees, ushering them along gently before he walks alongside them. He can keep up just fine, but he stays slow and steady. "Tomoe, I will need backup if we're to escort these people to safety." He says, nodding to Eisen Blumen before he throws up his shield when the arrival of Aragami is brought up on radio.

    This might get ugly fast.
Camilla Ulyssa     "'Finally invented'?" Camilla glances from the old man to Yuko and Ciel, then back to the old man. "Sorry, I was under the impression these weapons had been around for a while now. How long were you people down there completely cut off from the world? Jeez, must have been really boring. Or really exciting, the whole fighting to survive against impossible odds thing." She hums, not in a sing-song manner but in serious consideration of the two options. "Can't decide which of the two it'd be..."

"Oh, well, I hear transports are en-route, so you guys have fun rejoining civilization. Also hearing that there's more of those monsters incoming, so I'm going to get back into the punching mood now!" She prefers it to the talking mood. Plus, other people have already volunteered to protect the civilians! It's officially no hair off her back.

She takes back to the sky with an idle hop up, flight taking her up and hopefully high enough to try to see what's incoming. Medium-type, that sounds a lot more promising than what they just fought.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr watches from her airborne position. She doesn't spare too much attention as the civilians begin to exit the hole, her eyes scanning the battered, broken cityscape.

Divine Wind chimes, and brings attention to the radio. "Tch. Copy that Ops, Threshold 1-5, gearing for combat."

While there's time, Zephyr says to her partner. "Gear Second. We'll need all the power output we can get for this... signal Union Command, we might need a Limiter Unlock."

The Device chimes again, and spools off another Bit to join the other two in tight orbit around the Mage.
Yuna Kagurazaka Elner doesn't detect anything, which is cause enough for Yuna to breathe a sigh of relief ... and then Francesca comes on the radio to report that they DO have more incoming. Medium-type, with a Yaksha Raja apparently leading ... Yuna grimaces, mentally asking Elner to check the Fenrir database and match that name up with something. For the time being, she circles towards the direction those Aragami are approaching from and descends to the ground, separating from Erina.

Her legs don't really have time to start shaking before Jiina is close enough to initiate a fresh combination - because based on the data Elner located, Yuna *REALLY* wants to be in Powered Form for the next fight. Heavy armor, high mobility, heavy weaponry ... and that's before she calls out, "Shugoseiheki!!" and adds her kite shield, the Wall of the Guardian Star, to her defenses. The shield manifests on her suit's left exo-arm, leaving both of Yuna's own hands free to handle the Matrix Divider.

"Everybody," Yuna calls out to her allies, "keep your eyes and ears open, and if you're the sort to listen to your instincts in mid-battle, stay alert for those too." She grips the Matrix Divider tighter, gathering energy in the weapon's capacitors and raising it so she's ready to fire as soon as she sees an Aragami.
Mel Brock     After listening on the radio for a few minutes, Marshal Brock looks out into the distance, with a deep frown. More incoming. And all these people exposed out here, some of them kids. Some ill. All of them underfed, with no way of sheltering themselves. They're gonna be in trouble if the Aragami get here and they're all still exposed. Shuffling them down into the hole could be one thing, but there's too much chance of something getting by them and then having a buffet all ready.

    Only one thing for it.

"Wilhelm, no need. You go do what you do best, big guy, I have a plan." The space cop turns her attention to the civilians, and begins speaking with that characteristic tone of calm authority anyone in her position has to cultivate. "Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like your attention for a moment. My name is Marshal Brock. I'm with Fenrir. I'd like for you to all gather around me for your safety. As close in as you can get. This is going to be a little cramped, but I'll be able to protect you all better this way. Come in, nice and close. Sit on the ground if you can. Children towards the middle, closest to me."

She waits for them to comply. And assuming they do, she holds her arms out to either side, she takes a deep breath, her coat flutters around her legs-

And then the ground underneath them all rumbles and shudders. A vaguely circular series of fissures form around them all, with sharp cracking noises. "Alright, I need everyone to stay as still as possible. I promise you, it's gonna be okay. I won't let anyone or anything hurt you."

And then the wide, heavy circle of ground, of dirt and stone and asphalt and whatever else she might be carrying, lifts up out of the ground. At the same time, faint, occasional flickers of purple light glimmer in the air around her, as a telekinetic shield takes shape.
Ciel Alencon     The radio continues, in the oft-crackling way it does. "Query from Far East Command. Is the location secure? Air transport can be sent, but only if it can be defended. All previous signals are reading as gone, from here, Blood team. ... Acknowledged. A helicopter will be inbound on your location."

Ciel's expression doesn't change, but she's inwardly relieved. The people here obviously just didn't know where safety was. Now that they know, they can get there, or be taken there, without any issues. Though she's walked to the edge of the suddenly-formed tear in the ground, she turns away from it, scanning the horizon, or what of it that's clear, down the barrel of the massive Oracle-firing rifle she holds.

Fran's voice again. "Blood and Threshold, you have incoming. Medium-type Aragami incoming, and closing fast. It looks like... a Yaksha Raja is leading. They must have heard the sounds of combat."

That makes things a lot harder. Some might have abandoned the rescue operation at this point as impossible, but with no countermanding orders, it's clear that director Paylor is more optimistic than that. "Yuko. Lenka. I'm moving up. Please stay on the ground." So saying, Ciel activates a function of Arpel Sea, her God Arc's sniping mode. Optical camoflauge on its own wouldn't do much against Aragami, but a system also based on Oracle cells works well, if fragile to disruption. She moves quickly after that, dashing for the ruins of a nearby building. Faintly, one could see her form running straight at the side, taking several steps up the wall, and then leaping, grabbing with one hand, getting purchase with one foot, and disappearing into where a window used to be.

She slows down long enough to take stock of the area, then picks out several points from which she can sit or lay down or back, chooses one to start with, and sights down Arpel Sea. To begin with, she just needs a good view of the direction the Yaksha are coming from.
Lenka Utsugi      Another bout of silence from Lenka. He frowns at what he's hearing. "...Finally invented?" Have these people been hiding out under here since... since efore the invention of the God Arc? Is that what he's understanding? That's...ridiculous. That can't be. That frown only grows more severe at the admission that the sick within have already gone. "......." His hand clenches on his God Arc and he slowly sucks in a breath. His eyes close, and seconds pass.

After several moments, they open and he regards the man who spoke to him. "...We'll make sure you reach safety." That's all he can offer right now. Especially when he hears in his reciever tell of new Aragami. A Yaksha Raja. Lenka's eyes narrow and he nods over to Ciel. "Right. Be careful." And with that said, he turns away, speaking over his shoulder. "Gather up with Marshal Brock and stay there. We'll take care of this."

He doesn't look back at that telekinetic shield is built up. No, he keeps his eyes squarely focused ahead, blade form God Arc in his grasp as he walked forward. His teeth grit momentarily at the thought of oncoming Aragami, but he shakes his head and steels himself, standing right in the prredicted path of arrival.
Tomoe Tomoe is going to help Reinhardt as she moves to work with the powered armoured tech knight and she'll be more focusuing on guarding the people she doens't mind not getting the glory but when comes the warning of another fight is inbound? She makes ready with her weapon as there'd going to be more fighting and things are going to likely get ugly with this in mind she starts to chant a spell runes dance about her body glowing bright gold and then vanish as she finishes up buffing herself and she takes a breath it was time to do what they could to keep the people safe from these things.

"I'm ready as I'm ever going to be."
Yuko Minami " 'Invented'? Hm... Must've been a long while, then." Yuko comments as she looks from the old man to Camilla, then to Lenka with a slow nod and shrug. She presses a finger to her ear as more messages come in through her headset. A few moments later, and she's smiling just a little wider than a few moments ago.

<<"Understood, Ciel. Staying down here is right where I'd like to be, anyway.">> Gripping her God Arc tightly again, she beams a smile at the old man and civlians. "You'd best find someone or something to hide behind. We'll take care of anything that even tries to come close, don't you worry!" With that confident boast out of the way, she gives her scythe an experimental twirl before following Lenka and the rest of her companions of the day.

<<"So. What's the plan with this one?">> At least she's got the sense to broadcast that instead of using her normal speaking volume. There's a lot of people, a lot of distance, and a lot of weapons being readied!
Kutsuuko Shiratori     People can see the civilians' heads craning and twisting this way and that as they look for a truck or helicopter on the horizon, though some in simple dismay of what had become of the place over their heads. The man engaged with Camilla falters a little bit, before sheepishly admitting "The water ruined everyone's watches, but we had no idea how the war was going before that. The United Nations advised people to find shelter but, I think that's just because they couldn't take any more. I'm certain we're probably some of the last ones left. There's no way the Aragami didn't find their way into the metro lines."

Fenrir's spotting has less to do with scanners and more to do with stealthy, high altitude observation drones confirming visual targets. That gives the gathered Elites a fair few minutes of prior warning and time to prepare, but even taking to the air, aerial recon requires most of that time to spot the incoming. What Fenrir refers to as a 'medium type' is pretty damn large already. Triple the height of a human being, at any rate. Moving through the waste at a surprising clip, an entire squadron of Aragami can be spotted, and squad is definitely the right word.

Individually, the Aragami are mostly humanoid, albeit with grossly elongated and over-muscled limbs and an unsightly hunched posture. Layers of purple skin and sinew can be seen under plates of layered over it much like actual, human designed plates, extensively carved with seemingly meaningless, ornamental designs, matching the fact that their squat necks terminate into a face more like a snarling samurai mask than anything meant for seeing, hearing or eating, completing a kind of grotesque, Japanese youkai look. Instead of a matching sword, each of them has what looks to be some kind of cannon outright fused into the right arm, dominating most of its mass, and they move as a coherent group, facing different directions, sweeping corners and the horizon, and behaving more like marines than samurai. The biggest one in the middle has an extra set of even larger arms, which end in massive rows of talons, and more ornamental armour.

Hearing the warning, the previously relieved civilians start panicking in only the way someone dangled right back into the jaws of danger mere moments from escaping can. They herd around Mel as much as possible, and even further try to angle themselves behind Reinhardt as a second layer, desperate to be behind as many bodies as possible. It turns out to be a good idea as well. Ciel escapes notice as she breaks off from the group, stealthing herself into a nearby vantage point, but the Aragami squad can see the gathering at an alarming distance.

Ciel can see them dropping into classic, kneeling firing stances ahead of their leader, and seconds later, searing pillars of pale violet light rip over the ground, blasting into the group with such volume that they don't even need to be terribly accurate. The energy beams are extremely thick to go with their firepower, and are followed by some kind of vertical launch from the leader, as a fifth pillar of light outright falls from the sky, behind Reinhardt's shield, preceded only by a brief, white shadow around his feet.
Reinhardt Wilhelm     Reinhardt is about to go the whole way with his shield up before Mel offers to take care of things. She does so, levitating them out of the way via a big platform of earth. "Huh, I guess then I get to protect YOU instead, haha!" He says gleefully, before throwing Mel a thumbs up. He'll let her focus, as he and Tomoe get more important things to worry about.

"Now then, time to do what we do best!" He delivers a shouting challenge to the Aragami when they emerge, hammer raised, and his boosters propel him across the earth to make hard contact with the bestial warriors.

He notices they act far too intelligent to be mindless beasts, they operate like a pack of wolves hunting their game, and that's enough for Reinhardt to get serious as he stops mid-boost. "-SCHEISS!" He notices too late the pillar attacking him, and he's hit by laser attacks that knock him off balance, leaving him staggering backwards as he issues a fire blast from his hammer. "Raaagh!" Not the best way to get started here, he'll admit.
Mel Brock     They're all in close. Okay, good. "Just remember, try to stay still," Mel says, using that same tone of voice - but injecting a soothing note into it. "See those little flickers of light? The purple all around us? That's me, I'm doing that. I'm projecting a shield."

Her coat still fluttering lightly around her legs, the psychic shifts her stance just slightly, lowering her arms slightly, and then 'pushing' upward, as if lifting a great weight. And up the large chunk of earth goes... just as the attacks begin. It's just in time. Just barely in time to get them up out of the way, to lift the whole mass of ground and people and psychic up into the air.

High enough that, at the very least, they'll be safe from most attacks the Aragami can throw. Up here, they'll only have danger from airborne Aragami. And they've got flying allies to cover her and the civvies up here... plus, she's aving at least a /little/ juice in case she needs to counterattack.
Zephyr Windstar     <Multiple inbound target vectors. Evasion advised.> chimes Divine Wind, even as Zephyr starts to move and jink between the beams. During a lull in the fire, she plants herself on a spell seal. "Bombardment Mode. Lets show them how it's done." She draws the grip of her Device out longer so she can grip it twohanded. <YES! SHIFT TO BOMBARDMENT MODE.> Lines of energy lash up around Zephyr's legs, and her flight spell spans out into a pair of green 'wings' to add more stability to her firing platform. <ALL MANA CHANNELS CONNECTED. ANCHOR POINTS AND RECOIL DAMPENERS LOCKED!> The three 'Bits' form a circle around the head of the axe-like weapon, as the blade splits in two, and begins to rotate around the crystal, gathering energy.

<LINKER CORE PRESSURE RISING NORMALLY. STORM RING HAS STARTED REVOLVING.> The bits begin to rotate in counter point to the 'vanes' that the blade has become... and then. <READY TO FIRE!> "Maelstrom Buster. FIRE!" <FIRING!>

The energy coalesces, then launches towards the Yaksha, 'pinching' down into a more refined beam that lances across the formation of Aragami.
Yuko Minami Bigger Aragami! Ones that might be more conducive to tearing apart. Yuko's grip on the Variant Scythe tightens just a little bit more as the Yakshas' capabilities are called out and their positions identified. <<"Is that so...? We'll have to watch the ground, too.">> It's not until they seem to be preparing to fire that the brunette finally moves, however, darting off to the side before they can fire. She's not about to stand around and get blasted, although with so many of them in a cluster like that...

<<"... Oh, right. This would be a good time for wider attacks, wouldn't it~?">> Swapping the God Arc to its ranged Blast Gun mode finally, Yuko cycles through a series of bullets before finally taking aim at the Yaksha Raja and firing a big laser!

... That shoots upwards at an angle and right over the Aragami. After a few seconds, however, another laser descends from the sky and strikes the ground near the center of the group before detonating in three consecutive firey explosions!
Tomoe Tomoe looks to see Mel is taking aare of things she's very thankful for Mel's help and she now gets ready to move.

"Yes, let's do this."

Her wings comes to life as he's ready to move in and attack alng side Wilhelm given the people are good in Mel Brock's hands. She has no worries about their well being and she'll go help intercept the attackers with Reinhardt in the lead and shes' flying right after him intending to crash into the enemy but she's caught by a laser attack as well and crashes. She manages to get back up slowly but the nature of herself is clear and elsewhere Sheena's got some sort of burn on her body which she cna feel. She's not safe behind her avatar at all from thise thing.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna's shield may not be as awesome as Reinhardt's, but it does its job - taking the hits from the Aragami 'soldiers' which would otherwise have slammed into her directly, and letting her stand her ground better than she might have otherwise. Not that it doesn't hurt - the physical impact has to go somewhere, and even with a mechanical arm holding Shugoseiheki instead of her own flesh-and-blood limb, she feels the impact through her whole body, the exo-frame's feet digging into the ground for purchase against the beam strikes.

Then there's a comparably brilliant flash from somewhere *behind* her, and Yuna lets out a startled yelp, sparing a glance back to see who was targeted by that. At least Reinhardt seems to have kept his feet ... but what about the --

Another beam smashes into Yuna's own shield, forcing her attention back to the front, and to the Aragami which are still shooting at her. She's tanky in Powered Form but the Light Suit *still* has its limits; she can't keep standing her ground without fighting back. So ... time to fight back. She gauges the Yalsha Raja's firing cycle, with Elner cuing her in on a couple of things that aren't quite as obvious by sight ... and right before the lead Aragami fires its next blast -

"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

- Yuna pre-empts it, a focused blast from the Matrix Divider lancing down the middle between the onslaughts of her shoulder-mounted beam cannons. After the cannons' blast tapers off and the emitters are covered again, Yuna keeps firing away with the Matrix Divider - finally engaging her hover-thrusters and going from 'stationary sort-of-tank' to 'highly mobile target which is still shooting at Aragami as best she can'.
Camilla Ulyssa     That big medium-type and its entourage have Camilla's blood boiling already. She grins, she gets pumped, and she overflows with power, letting her magic flare out of her like an aura of blue and white light. Especially useful as the Aragami artillery begins raining down. Incoming beams blast against the aura around the fox, and she powers through by just speeding dead ahead towards the largest of the monsters she can spot. There's pain associated with that, as beams eventually break through her passive shielding and scorch some skin here and there, but she's remarkably sturdy.

    And fast.

She stops, abruptly, when she considers herself within range of the creature. Still in the sky, looking down at it, though. She knocks her fists together, addressing the AI of her weapons. "Mars! Spin the wheel of fate, let's go."

Runes dance on the gauntlets, three columns spinning like the display of a slot machine until a trio of runes engrave themselves into the gauntlets. They begin glowing ice blue, emanating a bit of mist and frost.

<Your fate is sealed: homing ice beam.>
"Ooh, good choice. Would have prefered something more direct, but...!"

But, why argue. Both hands move forward, and then without delay let off a huge beam of ice and energy. About two meters wide and high, continuous for about three or four seconds, the beam homes and turns, making a wide arc through the ranks of Aragami and towards the largest of the bunch. Following it, if it moves.
Ciel Alencon     More radio-crackling. "Be advised, the Yaksha can use ranged, melee, and ground trap attacks. The Yaksha Raja is smarter, faster, more dangerous with its talons, and will charge and pursue targets." It's not a new breed, so Fran has what info has been put into Fenrir's databases on both the leader, the 'King of the Yaksha,' and its subordinates. Ciel continues sighting down the barrel. It isn't quite time. A shot here or there from her won't stop those opening blasts, and will give away her position.

"I am in position. Blood team, I'm covering you. Move in when ready." She waits. Infinite ammo would be one thing, but she doesn't have that. As-is, she'll be going through a stock of O-ampules, her functional 'extra ammo' items, though what they do is refill her Oracle reserves so her God Arc can keep wrapping up and firing incandescent bolts of the stuff.

In terms of 'covering,' Ciel's tactics are reactive. The first shot will be the most important, and give her the most time to aim, but the timing concept will be the same for all. She's waiting for a moment in which one of the Aragami is about to move in to strike, or move out to dodge, from one of her teammates, and isn't showing any awareness of her. That's when she'll pull the trigger. The matter of damage is secondary to keeping them off balance in those critical moments.
Lenka Utsugi      It's not too long before Lenka can visually confirm with his own two eyes the numbers they have to deal with. Plenty of Yaksha, which is already trouble, but they've got a leader type with them as well. This is going to be... a trial. Nonetheless, the God Eater steels himself and starts walking forward once the Aragami take up firing positions. His blade form God Arc shifts into shield form as he walks, pace getting brisker.

Once the Yaksha start firing, that walk turns into a jog, hand gripping his defensive tool tightly. And once energy starts raining from the sky, he takes off. With one step, Lenka bursts forward into a run, strafing through pillars of searing, purple plasma, and raising his shield this way and that to block what could have been far too troublesome to block. The brunt of blocking causes minimal recoil damage, but it's not enough to throw him off course.

Once Zephyr and Yuko take their big damn shots, Lenka crouches low, and then jumps upwards into the air, arcing forward. And while he soars, his God Arc changes form, turning into a gun once again. He takes aim while descending upon the crowd of Yaksha, glaring intensely as he starts pulling the trigger and letting loose a barrage of oracle shots into the group. He lets loose until his ammo is finally down to empty. And once it is, the God Eater lands.

Smack dab into the herd of Yaksha, and kicking up a burst of wind and dust. ".....!" His God Arc shifts to blade form now, and he rears back. "Die." And he spins with a heavy swing, aiming to cleave into those surrounding him. Those that were left after all of that energy fire anyway. Sheesh.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Mel is just in time to avert eating an entire salvo of beams to her barrier, but the glowing pillars rushing through the air just underneath her, melting away the lower end of the asphalt island, elicit screams of terror from the people huddled around her, causing children to buried their faces in her clothes. Reinhart finds that the firepower isn't anything to sneeze at either, though for whatever reason, the temperature inside his armour doesn't rise much at all, nor does it for Yuna behind her shield, despite ostensibly being energy weapons; energy weapons that hurt a lot, especially for Tomoe's avatar transmitting a high percentage of the pain, as well as losing a hefty chunk of its HP bar.

The gun line pauses firing for a few precious seconds, with gouts of hissing steam venting from their folded out arm guns. Seeing the incoming attacks, they actually bunch up together, turning their armoured shoulders and the opened 'shields' of their guns to the incoming attacks, to intercept them before their leader takes any damage.

Though no doubt physically tough, their energy conducting ability trades firepower for seemingly blanket elemental weakness. The Flamestrike crashes into the center two, followed by the Maelstrom Buster raking across the entire line, blowing off pieces of red platting and whittling shards of hardened material off the guns, drawing blood where the fire and laser fire strikes flesh. They stand fast in their formation, weathering the assault, even as the Matrix Divider crashes into the middlemost Yaksha and brings it to its second knee and a hand, spilling oily blood into the earth, but not letting its gun waver off-target. Finally, the overhead explosives from Yuko and Lenka land behind then, and scatter the line, bowling the Aragami over with deep burns carved into their backs, and luminous purple cracks gouged into their hardened armour.

Nevertheless, they are quick in rolling and clambering upright, dispersing from the counter bombardment and avoiding clumping up. The two nearest to Lenka suffer spurting slashes deep through their chest and legs, spraying him with their gore, but move on regardless, and saturate him with volleys of shots as they retreat. The earth rumbles with their heavy footfalls, and the air shrieks with subsequent blasts of energy, exploding where they land. This includes the leader, now exposed as the ice beam arcs through the splitting formation. Despite its size, it easily leaps high into the air, vaulting over its nearest minion and coming down on Camilla, only for the beam to loop around and stab into its back, firing a spear of frozen tissue deep into its midsection, and causing it to falter. Just before it lands on her, Ciel's sniper shot connects with its head, and blows most of the helmet right off with a flash of white sparks and annihilating Oracle Cells.

The individual Yaksha attempt to flank the group, ignoring Mel for the time being in order to focus on the other threats. Two to each side, they work around Reinhardt and Yuna, firing past each other to try and hit the other in the back and crossing their lanes to try and gun down the two God Eaters between. One of them stops briefly, swivelling its head like a satellite dish to try and catch where Ciel had fired from, before quickly blasting off a salvo of vertical shots that come down on Zephyr, trying to pick her out of the sky.

The Yaksha Raja recovers quickly from the almost-mortal blow, stumbling upright and continuing its charge in Camilla, zigzagging slightly to avoid further fire. Its lower arms drag their claws across the ground so fast that the girl is hit right in the face with the tumultuous spray of ground asphalt and flying sparks, shortly before the sword-length talons come at her from both sides.
Mel Brock     "Easy now," Mel says, her voice lowering a little. "Easy now, I've got you, we're all right." She's got no problems letting the younger ones cling to her if it helps them stay calm. That blast clipping the bottom, though, that was a little more than she expected. Quietly, she shifts her attention, increasing the amount of telekinetic force in the protective field beneath the small landmass; the barrier overhead will be thinner as a result, but if anything comes at them from above, she can shift it to a more even distribution again.

She also waits until the Aragami have focused themselves entirely on the people below, and then quietly rips out some more ground material from below, dragging it up to replace what the blast melted off the bottom of her platform.
Reinhardt Wilhelm     Reinhardt grumbles as he regains his groove again, raising his shield and attempting to move in a circle, trying to keep the Yaksha on their toes while they fire upon him again. "I could use some backup here, I can only protect one side of myself with these things!" He calls out, looking to TOmoe hopefully for a moment before he presses the assault.

His armor's thrusters kick in again, and he propels himself toward one of the Yaksha with his hammer swinging like a baseball bat, intending to smash it right off balance and prevent them from continuing their strategy of overwhelming his defense. Hopefully he'll be moving fast enough for the other yaksha to have trouble targeting him, despite his bulky suit.
Yuko Minami Yuko hums to herself briefly at the combined assault doing quite a number on the gathered Yaksha despite their attempts at defense, and the scattering just draws a light giggle from the brunette. <<"They're scattering. Weapons up, but don't get careless!">> Noticing the pairs of Yaksha splitting off around herself, Lenka, Reinhardt, and Yuna, Yuko's already starting to move towards the pair in front of her when she notices them taking aim again. Although it'd be an easy enough matter to just avoid those blasts, what of her allies behind her? Avoiding that hit only for them to get injured wouldn't look good for the Blood Unit nor herself!

Well, maybe it won't hurt too much. Bringing up her God Arc as it switches to its more defensive Shield mode, Yuko rushes forward as much as she can before bracing the (relatively) oversized shield in front of herself to weather the brunt of the Yakshas' blasts. "Is this all? Don't underestimate us!" Despite her boast, she still finds herself getting blown back several yards with a numbing pain lancing through her arms and sides and her boots skidding against the ground to keep herself from falling too far back away from the offending Aragami!

It's still not far enough to keep her from striking back, though, as she switches back to the scythe and extends it with a massive horizontal slash at the Yaksha's legs. She's going for the same anti-leg strategy, too!
Ciel Alencon     Ciel rolls to the side after she fires, hiding behind remains of the wall and letting her weapon cool. As long as she's not seen and can't keep attacking, she can engage the stealth field again, but that still takes time she doesn't want to take. Moving straight back, she keeps her head under the rubble while making a right turn and moving to the next spot she'd picked out. Another room, another ruined wall with enlarged windows, and another spot from which to lay with her back to the wall, God Arc on top of her, and sight down at the potential targets. They might spot her this time, or she might be able to reactivate her camoflauge before then. Or they might rain shots down on the building.

The Raja was the obvious choice of target, and it isn't surprising that it was the one to leap into her sights. The others try to avoid melee, and Ciel isn't spending her time knocking guns off course that people--well-trained and experienced God Eaters, at least, which doesn't actually describe many here--should be able to avoid or block on their own. Those talons, though... She knows the Raja is a stubborn pursuer, if only from the files.

Her sights move. She's most worried about Yuko and Lenka, even if Threshold is largely a mystery in terms of capability. (Especially...) But with the pack leader on Camilla, that's another match-up she can't ignore.

It's a hard choice, but her barrel swiftly shifts to pointing behind Lenka. If he's going to keep leaping into the middle of them like that, that's where she'll focus her fire, gouging flesh and keeping Yaksha off balance outside her teammate's field of view. There's no way the Aragami would fail to take advantage of a flanking opportunity.
Camilla Ulyssa     When the Yaksha Raja jumped far and high to reach her and strike from above, Camilla took the obvious way out and started lowering her altitude at the same pace the larger monster was falling. Only viable until you hit the ground, but thanks to that sniper shot, she never had to worry about it. At least, until it got back up, amidst the flares of its companions still firing, past the fox and towards her allies now much further back.

Which meant, now at ground level, she was going to fight this big nasty in hand to hand. Someone sane might be worried, but she's lost in the heat of the moment, anticipating the first clash like a kid anticipates midnight when it's 11h59PM on December 24th.

Sparks and ground asphalt won't bother Camilla, pelting the aura around her harmlessly. It's the incoming talons that are concerning, and the creature's adapting to her beam and making zigzags to avoid a second shot.

Fine, then, she thinks. Mana continues burning like nobody's business, her strength increasing. The talons come from both sides like terrible pincers. She outstretches both arms fully, armored gauntlets at the ready. She catches the swords, immediatly feeling both of her arms being pushed into her body painfully from the creature's brute force. She adapts, and matches it.

Mostly because if she doesn't she might not get to keep her arms much longer. Her hands squeeze, trying to crush the edges of the talons as she holds them back.

"Not bad! Show me how much harder you can push! You're smart enough to fight, I know you can understand me!" Whether she can crush the talons or not, blue magic builds up in her hands, and detonates like two plasma grenades, though the blast affects Camilla in no way.
Yuna Kagurazaka As the Yaksha close the distance, Yuna reflects briefly on the old saying about how no plan of battle survives contact with the enemy. Because they didn't even have time to make much of a plan, and things are still going off the rails ... to the extent that there WERE rails.

Just having a Raksha trying to shoot her in the back, and its allies attempting to capitalize on openings, is enough to force Yuna out of formation with her allies ... which may have been the entire point. Yuna turns around quickly and guns the hoverthrusters, strafing hard to try and avoid taking any hits she doesn't have to. (And where are the civilians in the middle of this whole frantic melee ... ?)

With allies and adversaries mixing it up like this, Yuna couldn't take another shot with the beam cannons even if she wanted to *and* they were ready for the next blast. Still trying to ward off incoming fire with Shugoseiheki, Yuna gathers power in her weapon again, fighting to get the right angle and enough of an opening --

Her finger closes on the trigger; the Matrix Divider's barrel/blade flashes brightly, and a bolt of radiant concussive force lashes out, aimed not for the knee, but for a Raksha's thigh. Another Raksha is too close for her to shoot, though, and she can barely charge up enough energy to boost the impact from a hasty slash before she tries to open up some more, badly-needed distance ...
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr is locked in place after her Bombardment Mode blast. The Yaksha's barrage comes in, and despite the sudden shattering of the anchor lines, she can't move fast enough. <KITE SHIELD, REINFORCE!> The Bits move, and from their cores a shield spell forms, taking the brunt of the first two or three shots, before the shield shatters, and Zephyr is sent flying into the side of a building from the impact force of the energy bolt.

<MASTER! Barrier Jacket integrity at 63%. Bombardment Drivers are offline. Shooter Drivers at 30%. Strike Drivers operational.>

"Damn it... We have permission... Drive Max." <MAXIMUM DRIVE. BARRIER JACKET SET. TEMPEST MODE. ALL MANA CHANNELS CONNECTED. MISTRAL TEMPEST TO STRIFE FORMATION!>

Zephyr emerges, in a ball of purple light. As she angles downwards again, the light tears away, clinging to her like wisps of smoke, revealing her heavier Tempest Mode armour. Five Bits form around her, two hovering over her back, boosting speed, while three drive her axe-like Device forward, tailing purple energy as she descends on the Yaksha that struck her. <MISTRAL CUTTER, JETSTREAM SHIFT.> She aims to cut the cannon arm off, then turns instantly around to aim a heavy horizontal slash for the legs.
Tomoe Tomoe is in the thick of things, she knows she doesn't want to get hit by those things again. She's back on her fgeed even as she deals with the pain and the fact part of her body is just warped red wireframes she's clearly been hit very hard here. She has her spear in hand and she picks up speed as she now moves agian but her movments are chaotic she's going to use the terrain and her own momentum to move in some very odd ways to hopefully makye herself harder tto hit.

"Don't worry about me Wilhelm. I'm a big girl I can take some punnishment. Worrky about the bystanders."

She also keeps up the attack and becomes almost Frenzied as she starts using actually weapon skills with her spear, the movements are very rapid and machine like when she moves to use her weapon to go for hopefully vital points on the creatures she's fighting. She knows her previous lessons were for anothere strain here.

"Hey you things are ugly as hell did something happen on to you before hand? Did you try to kiss a cheese grater!?"

She hopes her Taunts might do something to draw the things on to her away from other targets like her allies or the civilians...
Lenka Utsugi      "Tch-"

Lenka's eyes narrow as he fails to find killing purchase upon the two Yaksha he cleaved into. But it was enough. "You're not getting away." He rumbles, wiping Aragami blood from his face and eyes. "....It's time to devour." He mutters low, as if speaking to his God Arc. And he dashes forward, leaping over plasma shots that fly under his feet. While airborne, the God Eater angles his weapon downward, and pulls on the handle while diving into downward descent.

What follows is a huge set of void black jaws, and multiple eyes forming up out of the God Arc, opening ride as he soared downward towards the retreating Yaksha. "Haaaaaaa!" Those jet black fangs aim to sink in, and rip out whole chunks of the retreating monsters without mercy. They won't escape. Not while he still draws breath. Not while people still need protecting.

He'll land on the other side after his devouring descent, skidding across the ground and spinning to face the beasts, changing those black fangs to gun mode to take careful aim. "....." And with quiet determination, he lets loose with newly reloaded blasts of flame.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Reinhardt manages to flag down the more badly wounded central Yaksha, exposing glowing pieces of its hard interior and bloody gashes in its softer surfaces, soldiering on despite the amount of fire that had been poured on it. Seeing him charging for it, it aims down at him, fires on his shield, then twice, and then it starts to action roll out of the way, only for the rocket hammer to smash against its head mid-maneuver, shattering its mask and removing half of its face, exposing the glassy core where a brain should be. Surprisingly, this does not actually dissuade the thing, and it fires an explosive shot straight down at its feet, blasting Reinhardt at the same time it leaps backwards. That shoot and scoot is as far as it gets once Zephyr drops in like a thunderbolt, cleaving part of the venting mechanism off the gun, so that it sputters purple flame instead of steam, and slashing through the muscle at the back of its legs, dropping it to its knees.

God Arcs are brought to bear on the flankers. One in a prime position to nail Lenka falls flat on its back as another sniper round punches through where something like a spine should be, leaving it to roll over and crawl whilst the Oracle Cell damage leaves it incapable of regenerating. It manages to sight on Ciel from its prone position, and fires back, but its 'gun' has nowhere near the velocity. It only gets one off, before Lenka leaps over it where it can't turn to attack him, and rips off a huge section of its mass. The snapping jaws slice through the Aragami's flesh like butter, splattering one of its arms like a melon. Its head then disappears from the gunshot, and it turns into a smoking corpse.

The Yaksha on the opposite side are taken by surprise by the Round Fang technique from Yuko's scythe. The one running and gunning in the lead loses both of its legs at the knees, whilst the one behind it leaps the massive swing of the extending, organic weapon, and only loses one for the effort, using its more useless comrade as a piece of cover as the both of them just /keep on firing back/. At first they mostly focus on Yuko, until Tomoe gets in the line of fire, weaving between the shots and dissecting the Aragami shield. All it can do is try to keep its arms up as she slashes and stabs all over its immobile body, until it outright falls over from taking too much damage, alive enough to try and hit her back with a heavy blunt strike, before the naginata pierces its eye and drives through the more fragile core behind it, killing it. The Aragami behind gets up as its cover is destroyed, only for Yuna to nail it in its remaining leg, sprawling out on the ground in a momentarily vulnerable position.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     The hulking Yaksha Raja facing down Camilla stoops over her as she catches its massive, blade-like claws, literally constructed as man made slashing weapons rather than the natural curves and blunter edges of fragile beast claws. The blades are much harder than steel however; much harder than any mundane metal as a matter of fact, and whilst they hiss and crack dangerously in Camilla's gauntlets, at the same time, just douching the edges is a kind of DoT, eating away at her aura from contact.

The fractured claws are blasted straight off by the twin detonations, throwing the creature's arms wide and rocking it on its backfoot, but its rigid stare doesn't waver, and its second set of arms quickly snap down, bracing the cannon over its other arm and firing point blank, refusing to yield ground despite its damage in stark contrast to its more tactical subordinates. It stumbles from its own high-yield shot, oily black vapour trailing from its broken claws, smashed helmet, and the wound opening up in its torso as the ice starts to disintegrate, but rights itself quickly. Even with its 'brain' exposed by the sniper round, it has both eyes, and despite their ornamental appearance, like little glass beads in a youkai mask, Camilla can innately sense something eerily similar to hatred. It isn't the kind of look an angry wolf gives its food, at least; the presentation of carnivorous instinct is heavily subdued by an air of wilful, deliberate, violence that transcends different forms of thought. In essence, she could say she can see the murder in its eyes.

At least, that is, before it takes a second firing leap to follow up on its point blank blast. Instead of aiming for her though, it quickly swivels to track Mel mid-jump, ignoring its current foe /just/ to fire on the civilians, almost out of pure spite, but perhaps even expecting Camilla to try and block it, as if its genetic memory has encoded some understanding of human social behaviour and distress reactions to unarmed casualties.
Zephyr Windstar     <DANGER!> warns Divine Wind as her sensors pick up the sudden motion spike from the Yaksha Raja leaping out of combat... straight for the civilians. "Damn it. Blitz Driver, Hurricane!" She spares just a splitsecond to say to Reinhardt. "Finish it." before she jets off, the Bits on her back spinning rapidly, spraying mana out like firehoses to boost her speed. She tears a furrow in the ground before gaining altitude, aiming for the mid-air Raja. <Drive Shift. Diverting all available power to Strike Drivers. Ready, Set.> "My Name is Zephyr Windstar. I am the Winddancer of March. And YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE! SHIPPU JINRAI!"

The blade of her axe begins to glow. A rainbow of orange, yellow, white and blue laced with purple, the 'metal' engulfed in energy as everything, including her active defenses are channeled into one strike. <HURRICANE THUNDERCLAP!> chimes Divine Wind. In the split second it takes for the Mage to intercept the Yaksha Raja, the blade of her Device has become a boiling mass of magical plasma, which she aims to slam into its center of mass just to disrupt its assault. On impact, the energy explodes like a shaped charge, aiming every joule of power into the target.
Camilla Ulyssa     It's possible, in all the briefing and introductions, someone warned Camilla not to touch Aragami if she could help it. It sounds like something Yuko or Ciel would have said and that, in her frenzy, she ignores gladly-- and will ignore again, no doubt. She doesn't notice that the longer she stays in contact with the beast's claws, her defenses are weakening and the protection of her Vestis (clothes) is dropping in efficiency. Mostly she notices her shoulders hurt a crapton from trying to double arm wrestle that thing, which wasn't the smartest decision she ever took.

But damn, the pain gets her going.

When the talons break from the detonation and the Yaksha Raja opens fire, Camilla shields herself with both arms, and finds out her defenses are weakened in the most obvious of ways, by being blasted the hell back and suffering nasty burns on her exposed skin (mostly her face, some of her legs and arms). It'll heal, but it's a slap back to reality.

When she's back up, she notices the emotional state of the beast, insofar as one can call it an emotional state. It's no predator behavior, that's for sure. That's hate alright. Typical, human hate. Beasts and monsters don't usually radiate that.

It guessed wrong, though. Camilla doesn't care about the civilians one bit. She just wants to fight, and when the beast jumps away, aiming elsewhere, she's insulted. Her fists clench and she makes a demand of her weapon.

"Spin it. Again. Don't fuck me over, Mars."
<Tough shit, you don't get a say. Your fate is sealed: fire beam barrier.> the gloves reply, in that smooth, male, flat voice. Camilla glares, as the runes settle into place on the gauntlets, replacing the old ones.
    "HOW. HOW DOES THAT--"

Camilla's blue and white aura shifts, into a flaming orange one. A lightbulb can practically be seen over her head. "Oh. OH! OOOH! YEEEEAH!" She glares up, at the Raksha Raja, now distracted by Zephyr. She grins, and suddenly, flares upward. Towards the beast. She's surrounded by a halo of fire, a barrier of energy, and as she travels she pretty much looks like the point of a beam attack indeed. One fist extended into a punch, she's going to give that thing a piece of her mind. Maybe get to the core, or plow all the way through.
Yuko Minami Another swipe! And another! And then Yuko's forced back on the defensive as the Yaksha begin firing on her in tandem, dashing out of the way of one and grimacing as she takes a second blast head on. She tumbles back with a pained cry, rolling herself back onto her feet and getting her shield up before noticing that Tomoe's already taking apart one and Yuna's knocked down the other.

<<"Eheh... Thanks for the backup. Remind me to send you two some... Ngh. Presents later?">> Despite the pain, Yuko's still managing/forcing that chipper tone, although there's just a hint of malice in it as she advances on the straggling Yaksha that's still there. Instead of jsut trying to slice it apart with the scythe, though, she opts for something with a little more bite to it.

By setting her God Arc to literally take a giant bite out of it. The God Arc has that function for a reason, and it might as well be while the Yaksha is still barely alive. <<"I think we've got the ones over here... How's everyone else faring?"
Mel Brock     Oh. Oh crap. It's paying attention to her. And it's- oh that's not good.

These people are going to be frightened no matter what, but she can at least guarantee they aren't hurt. Two things happen in rapid succession as the Aragami turns. One is that the flickers and glimmers directly between the floating ground and the beast grow much more intense - though still only faint, sporadic and spread out, there is still a noticeable difference as the bulk of Mel's spare telekinetic force is shifted in front to block out any and all kinetic component to the blast. The other, is that all the excess earth material that Mel scooped up to keep the bottom of the platform durable against attack? It shifts up and forward, giving her shield a /physical/ component as well. The psychic groans quietly with the mental effort, but with that much earth, stone, concrete and whatever else in the way, it should bleed off enough of the blast that people will be unharmed. But she sure wouldn't mind if someone else helped by dampening or redirecting the attack...
Ciel Alencon     With a lesser number advantage, Ciel's certain that she would have been spotted. Instead, her camoflauge flickers away only when gunfire explodes through it, and the strike goes well enough to bring down her target, if not before it returns fire.

The charged fire is hard to avoid without seeing it coming, while hasty fire is slow enough at this great distance that good enough kinetic vision can track it. Ciel would be rolling out of the way in either case, the moment she confirmed the hit, making the difference academic. She reappears immediately afterward, leaping over the wall with her rifle stowed and her blade armed, and falling about two stories. She doesn't make it even a quarter of the way down before her just-vacated perch explodes in violet light, and she tucks into a roll to protect herself from the shower of old masonry and fresh rubble.

The roll stops as her blade strikes cracked earth, digging in and turning it into a slower, vaulting landing that transitions naturally into a run. She's fully out in the open, now, but that's fine. Things are almost over.

Almost, that is, except for the attack heading toward the civilians, about which she can do nothing.
Reinhardt Wilhelm     As Reinhardt is blasted, he brings up his shield, skidding backwards slightly before he begins to run towards the Yaksha. He's lucky that Zephyr managed to strike it right when she did. Flashing her a thumbs-up, Reinhardt then rushes towards the Yaksha, raising his hammer high.

Zephyr gives the magic words: FINISH HIM!]

Reinhardt brings up his hammer, the engine on the end roaring as he builds up force, before he brings the hammer right down upon what's left of the Yaksha's head, roaring with fury as he finishes the Aragami off, and no doubt making a huge mess.

Omnics didn't make this kind of splatter when he smashed them, it definitely didn't have the feeling of pulp that this does either.
Lenka Utsugi      Once Lenka finishes off his pair, he lets out a breath, and looks off towards the rest of the battle. "......!" The others seemed to be mopping up fine, but the leader... was going for the civilians! Lenka didn't hesitate for a moment, without even bothering to assess the fallen Yaksha further, he breaks forward into a feverish run. Blazing across the the ground at a desperate pace. "Don't....." Gun form God Arc changed to blade form. "...you..."

With his last step, he gathers all of his strength, and bursts into the air, blade held back. "...DARE!" And he soars at high speeds, hurtling himself at the Yaksha Raja's back, almost at the same time that Zephyr moves to intercept as well. Along Lenka's arm, right around his bracelet, a sickly looking stigma faintly starts to form. But one would have to be really looking to spot it.

Rebellion flares to light with oracle energy, and the God Eater lets loose a furious slash aimed right for the center of the leader's back, to cleave in and do /something/ to stop it. Those people can't die. They can't die! /They can't die!/
Yuna Kagurazaka By this point in the battle, Yuna is keenly aware that her Light Suit is starting to hit its limits. Even the attacks which hit Shugoseiheki take a toll on the suit's protective aura, and if that gets fully depleted, then Yuna goes from being a (currently) heavily armored fighter to being an extremely helpless civilian. It's one good reason to dodge instead of tanking ... at least, it would be normally.

But right now, even with Elner trying to keep her updated on who or what is where, Yuna has a hard time keeping track of where she can't allow the Raksha to shoot.

Yuna spares a brief moment to look around for other YAksha who haven't yet been disabled or terminated; she's just as inclined to let one of her allies finish off the felled Yaksha, but if she needs to take the kill shot herself, she will.

Assuming, of course, that she can grasp the necessary opportunity. There are still other Yaksha rampaging around, and Yuna would rather make sure ALL of them are down and disabled than waste a handful of seconds finishing off anything that isn't still actively posing a threat. Of course, leave a wounded or crippled Aragami alone and it reconstructs itself ... so it's a very limited window.
Tomoe Tomoe knows theses are not normal things one can show mercy to and she understands this. Yuko has proven himself quite adpet and Yuna's done a good job as well. She's looking a bit beat aup and in reality Sheena? Is going to need a trip to the medical bay after this. She looks to Yuko and Yuna. "I think your right there seems to be no more here."

She telaxes for a moment but knows she's going to have to get a move on shortly.

"If we're done here we should move on."

She'll also make sure her Yaksha is dead as well.

"Once we make sure these things are dead for good."
Kutsuuko Shiratori     The Aragami facing Reinhardt has just enough energy to prop itself up on one arm, snap the barrel of its weapon arm towards his face and charge the barrel with coalescing motes of lavender flame, before the hammer accelerates down on its head, smashes it against the hard ground, shatters the core, and crushes its armour with a vicious splat of murky, dark red. Meanwhile, Yuko has the textbook finisher; the easy, up close devour on a crippled and stationary target, letting the God Arc not only chomp its head off, but extract the intact core as well, to be later used by Fenrir for a commission bonus. The headless corpse joins the others, some of which are starting to disperse into the mist of cellular components too small to individually see.

The Yaksha Raja certainly provoked a response alright, but not from the target it wanted. Zephyr and Lenka sweep past it from opposite sides, cleaving into its front and back with alternating strikes, one powered by almost all of Zephyr's energy, and the other enhanced by the Oracle Cell edge of Lenka's blade, and combined with the ice damage to its torso, outright sever it from its legs. The Aragami crashes to the ground in two separate halves, as the beam sweeps off target, and scours a deep, disintegrated furrow through Mel's rubble barrier, before veering off into the sky. Searing light punctuates the cracks, causing the mass of survivors to huddle behind her in wailing terror, but ultimately the strange energy only gives her some mild point-burns here and there.

Left with no options, the monster can only face down Camilla, vent the unknown coolant from its weapon, charge, and have its head, neck, and upper torso blown away by her last attack, no longer adequately armoured after Ciel's oracle bullet had shredded all its heavy plating. The leader of the mob is destroyed, and the area falls eerily silent again, save for the shifting of gritty sand, the faint groaning of the broken underground ceiling, heavy breathing, and the neck-tingling hiss of the dispersing corpses; that is, until the distant thumping of helicopter blades punctuates the ambient noise.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr hits. Zephyr keeps going until the energy boosters on her back give out. She doesn't crash out of the air, but simply glides down into a crouched, one-kneed hunch with a fairly heavy thud from the extra armour and her metal boots. Divine Wind cracks open its cooling vents, ejecting a massive cloud of mana-infused steam to billow around the Mage, before it suddenly reverts to Standby Form, her Barrier Jacket following as it returns to her out of combat uniform... she then keels over onto her side, clutching her chest in a silent groan of agony from just how much mana she had to spend in one go. Even buffered by the Bits taking some of the stress from her, the act of using that much power has taken her out of any further fighting.

Luckily there's no more Aragami in combat range. Divine Wind sends out the retrieval signal, but she's not going anywhere soon.
Yuna Kagurazaka NOW it seems to all be over. Fenrir is confident enough to send in the recovery/evac choppers, at least - and not a moment too soon.

Light ripples across Yuna's exo-frame battlesuit before it glows and vanishes - with Jiina's android form reassembling next to Yuna, now back in her basic Light Suit. Another flare of light returns Yuna to her civilian clothes ...

And with the adrenaline finally ebbing combined with the exertions of battle, Yuna just slumps to her knees with a deep sigh. "We pulled through," she breathes before slumping further - not collapsing to the ground, just kind of hunching in on herself in exhaustion and energy depletion.

She's still worried about the civilians who were caught in harm's way, but she can't even dredge up the energy to lift her head and look around for them. She might actually fall asleep before the choppers land.
Mel Brock     Mel hisses - the heat is noticeable even through the protection of her coat and suit, both as effective as light combat armor in and of themselves. But it's fine. Better she take the pain than they do, and it could have been much, much worse than that. Pushing down the pain with mental effort, she turns to look over her shoulder, and smiles faintly. "That's the last of them. We've got choppers inbound to pick you all up."

Slowly, the hunk of rubble and ground floats itself back down to the /actual/ ground, where it drops... well, /more or less/ right back where she picked it up. So that they can more easily get off of it and onto more stable ground. But there's one more thing to do. The tall woman turns, and crouches down, so she's at eye level with the younger ones. "You all did very well. It was brave of you to stay with me, to not run and hide. You hang onto that bravery, alright? The adults are gonna need someone to look after 'em, they're all... old, and easily scared. Can you do that for me?"
Lenka Utsugi      Lenka lands heavily upon the ground and skids to a stop, ready to go again if he had to. Even if his burst duration had ended, he'd keep going, but... There was no need. Camilla took care of the rest. "......" There's a stark bit of silence, and then Lenka gradually begins to relax. It's over. A deep sigh, and then he stands up straight and lowers his God Arc. "Acknowledged. Blood Unit remaining on standby." He responds to Fran, wiping Aragami blood from his face again. He needed a shower badly.

But for now... he was going to check on the refugees. And keep an eye out. Zephyr does get a glance from him though before that though, and he hunches down by her side. "...Thanks." And then a mild frown of confusion. "...Are you going to be okay?"
Reinhardt Wilhelm     As the dust settles, Reinhardt watches the body of his fallen foe slump over headless. He grunts with satisfaction as he retrieves his hammer, and slings it across his shoulder. He pries his helmet off, revealing a beaming smile as he looks up at Mel and the civilians, giving a thumbs up. "Told you we'd protect you, did we not?" He says with a hearty laugh, before he notices Zephyr go down.

"Hnnn, I got her." he says, approaching the fallen mage before he plucks Zephyr and Divine up on his shoulder, gentle enough to avoid breaking something, holding her in a fireman's carry.
Ciel Alencon     "We've confirmed that oracle activity has stopped in all targets. Helicopter inbound, ETA two minutes. Blood team, your extraction will follow in five, ETA seven minutes." The God Eaters and civilians wouldn't be taking the same heli, as expected. While they swung them around easily enough, God Arcs are really heavy weapons.

Ciel raises a hand to her radio, switching it off to give a soft sigh, then back on again as she straightens. "Mission successful. Thank you, Threshold." Things would have turned out very differently with backup. Of that, she's no doubt. A Yaksha Raja is no small matter for even a team, even had it not had a full squad's support.

Holding her God Arc 'at rest,' Ciel makes her way back across the battlefield, eventually curving slightly in her path in order to reach Yuko. "Are you alright?"

She'd really like to relax, herself, but that would be unprofessional. Keying her radio again, "Everyone, please remain vigilant until extraction arrives." There's really no 100% accurate means of predicting an Aragami ambush.
Camilla Ulyssa     Eventually Camilla stops, flames running out and aura dropping to more reasonable levels. 'Not trailing a beam attack' levels. The Yaksha Raja has fallen, its core is destroyed, and the horde of smaller Raksha is also down for the count. She wishes she could have fought it alone, but despite interference, it was still a blast. She's sore, hurting in some places, got surprised a few times. Finally, something worth playing with. Something that might have stood a chance to down her.

She lands, at some point, where the group has gathered-- most likely, back by the civilians. She looks excited, despite the pain, which says a lot about her. "Large-types! I have got to know more about large-types. How often do you guys have to fight them? Got pictures, movies? Get me hyped up!" If a medium-type could hurt her and push her, she can't stay away from this bait. She NEEDS it.

<She isn't going to shut up about it. And if you think you have it bad, I can't exactly leave her side,> her gauntlets ping, informatively.
"Hey, you don't see me trying to ruin your parade, let me have this one."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr cracks open one eye. "Just... need some urgent medical attention. I'll be fine, in a week... did we get 'em?" she asks, and then is hoisted up by Reinhardt. "Heh... thanks... big guy." She'll be sleeping for a good while after this, but for now, the pain is keeping her on the barest cusp of consciousness.
Yuko Minami Yuko watches closely as her God Arc makes a mess out of that unlucky Yaksha, biting and chewing on just about everything it can before it can fade. She doesn't even seem to notice her surroundings until Ciel speaks up, snapping her out of her brief daze. "Huh? Oh, never better! See?" Still as bright-eyed and smiley as ever, she even pumps her free hand up to demonstrate!

... And then hunches over at the sharp pain going through her side. Still smiling, though, even if it's noticeably more forced now than ever. "A... Actually, I could probably use some help. But we did it, right? First mission against medium-sized Aragami, and without any casualties!" That's something to be excited about, at least.

That, and large Aragami. "I don't know when we'll be fighting those, but-ow. It can't be that long until we do, right? Right~" Giggling again, she straightens up long enough to snap a firm salute to the rest of the gathered non-God Eaters. "Thanks for all your help, Threshold. I'll be looking forward to working with you all again sometime."
Tomoe It seems has done her part for the momnent but there is still a little bit of work left to do, hearing the heicopter blades however gets her to look to try and locate them. It seems the nightmare is over for the moment but there's still much work to do and she makes a pained look. Her body is slowing down and feeliung the results of the feedback and she grits her teeth pain like this was somewhat new to them.

"We made it..."

She'll move to help those who need aid in reaching the choppers and as she does so she banishes her spear.
Lenka Utsugi      Lenka stands up at Reinhardt grabs Zephyr and nods. "We got them." He says evenly, before turning to check on Ciel and Yuko. ...Yuko took a few hits, but she seems like she'll live. Good. And the civilians are fine, thanks to Mel. And the non-God Eaters were all well and good. ...That one wanting to know about large-types got a quirk of the brow from him tnough.

He'd call this a successful mission. There's a shake of the head and Lenka decides to take another round of the perimeter to occupy himself. He just couldn't relax. Not yet.
