Nagato     It's looking like stormy weather on Hikari Seaport's docks, a certain Battleship is standing out in front of the launching bays used for the Kanmusu and the 'experimental' Kanmusu. Thinking back, all Nagato had in active service is a Light Cruiser and a couple Light Carriers. It was time to fix that with Amakasu's dissaperance. She stoically waits for the summoned members of the Fleet to gather, and by her side was Ashigara and Myokou... "Ashigara, I will need you to up your training on the new girls. Do not let up on them like you won't let up on Yuudachi."

The two Myokou sisters nod their acceptance at Nagato before heading off... Ashigara had a plan and Myoko was there to make sure she didn't get into trouble... or the bottle. "They should be arriving soon..."
Shigure     Enter stage right: One 'Nightmare of Solomon'.

Yuudachi is beaming happily, fresh from the docks and ready to get back out on the water. She practically skips up to the Admiral, and snaps a salute. "Shiratsuyu-class Destroyer, Yuudachi, reporting as ordered, poi~." she chirps happily, grinning her dopey grin, plastered all over her face.
Alexis Maaka     Enter Maaka

Normally the seaport's so bright and sunny, but the cyborg's definitely come prepared for cold and less than pleasant weather. Her coat trails behind her as she arrives, and she snaps off a salute to the Admiral and her soon to be fellow ships. "Maaka, reporting." She says, clipped and professional.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna was literally on her way to Hikari Sea Port already when Nagato summoned her. She'd finished an intense session of study and homework at Beacon Academy, saved the finished assignments for a final review in the morning, grabbed her duffle bag, and headed for the warpgate.

So Nagato might get word that Kagurazaka arrived on base literally seconds after the summons, but it'll take a minute or two longer before the blonde idol enters the docks, still tying the scarf of her SDP uniform. She's quick enough to come to attention, although her salute is (as usual) a little too cheerful and jaunty to match standardized regulations. "As ordered, Admiral. Good evening, Yuudachi, Maaka ..."

She glances around briefly. Did she beat Cirra? Probably not by much if so ...
Cirra Constantine     Cirra Constantine reports promptly once summoned. Knowing full well that this will have heavy equipment involved, she came without her armor and rather a blouse and skirt - wether THAT gets changed too reamins to be see. "Constantine, reporting." She says, standing sharply next to Makaa.
Nagato     The weather seems like it'll hold up for quite a while. Also, next to Nagato's side, is a pair of breifcases, holding something. "Good afternoon, everyone. Flagship Kagurazaka, Yuudachi." those two get a salute back, along with one to Maaka as well. "To start, you two..." looking directly at Cirra and Alexis, "are out of uniform. From this point forward, if you are on base, you are /my/ ships. I am /your/ Admiral, /your/ superior, you will follow orders as they come, not to say that I am not lenient."

Nagato hefts up the twin breifcases, "These breifcases have your provisional outfit. They are Asashio-class outfits, please get changed quickly, you have five minutes." she pauses "That's an order, by the way." She turns to Kagurazaka and Yuudachi, "I need you two to sortie in fit, please. Training rounds only." a look to Yuudachi, "Same with the torpedoes." she waits if the two new destroyers head off... and when they return...

Nagato's got a door open. "She continues her little speech. "This here is the launch bay, this is where you will get equipped with your guns and torpedoes and the engine that will power your rudders and movement. In addition, your equipment contains Equipment Fairies. Respect them and they will respect you, they understand human speech as well, but will not reply back using speech. Trust in their ability and they will move the world for you." it's not long until Nagato's personal Repair Goddess Fairy pops out from behind her metal headband. She looks at the two new destroyers and immediately puts on a scowl... prideful fairy.
Alexis Maaka     Uniforms...right.

Maaka accepts the briefcases as she and Cirra are given the lowdown. She expects Yuudachi and Yuna will be helping them carry out a first weapons exercise, which is fine by her. Once she goes to get changed, saluting before she goes, she opens up the briefcase to inspect-

It's a skirt. It's a schoolgirl uniform complete with a skirt. Maaka looks at the uniform with confusion as she gets changed, "...I am gonna look ridiculous with this on." She mutters to herself.
Shigure     Yuudachi gives Nagato a look. "That was /one/ time!" she pouts, but heads off to get into her rigging. She makes doubly sure to get her ammo from the marked Training bins, the torpedoes having blue tail flukes and smily faces, instead of the red flukes and shark mouth faces. She even gets some of the tape from the nearby bin and wraps it around the barrels of her guns, bright blue to indicate she's using training rounds.

Rigging ready, she launches out into open water, and waits for the two newbies.
Yuna Kagurazaka "Yes ma'am!" Kagurazaka replies, saluting once again before heading into the launching bay. One brief delay to make sure her fit-out is ready (with training rounds as specified - including the torpedoes; she doesn't use them often but she *does* have them), a slightly longer delay to ensure that her weapons are marked like Yuudachi's and then ...

"Light Cruiser Kagurazaka, deploying!"

If Nagato had wanted her to wait so that the new provisional destroyers could watch the process, she would presumably have said as much. Either way, Kagurazaka's been through enough deployments that there's no real margin for mishaps; she knows what order her equipment comes up in, and she knows how to angle herself as the turrets, engine, and so forth are all latched into place, attaching to her uniform.

Kagurazaka sails out of the docking bay as well, coming to a halt near Yuudachi, and gives the overcast sky a slightly wary look. She's in no danger from mere rain, of course - her uniform is as water-resistant as any kanmusu's - but soaked hair is unwieldly to see under (or through) and gets in the way generally.
Cirra Constantine     Cirra stands up even straighter as Nagato begins the drill seargent routine. She takes the brieface in hand and saultes sharply, turns, finds the nearest room and promptly changes.

When sh returns she fusses with the detatched sleeve to straighten it. Then taps the front toe of one of the shoes. "Hmn." She might have to request some changes to be comfortable. Fortunatly she's used to school uniforms.
Nagato     Uniforms. /Everyone/ has a Uniform. Yuudachi, Kagurazaka, Nagato... everyone.

"If there's a fitting problem, it will be only temporary." she comments as she moves into the launching bays. "There are nine total launch bays. Six of them are primarily kanmusu in use, the last three are for the Special Division Project. Maaka, Position seven. Constantine, Position nine. When you go on sortie, you will report here, to your designated bay, your name will be listed on the card shown." As Nagato ordered, Bay Seven's card shows Makka's name and Nine shows Constantine's name, all in Kanji.

"Step on the launch pad..." Nagato moves to bay five, showing upon the card there, "Your legs will be equipped first so you can move on the water... You will then be launched out while equipment will be flying at you to be strapped on. Torpedo launcher on your left arm, gun turret on your right hand, engine on your back. You will think they are heavy, once you start moving, you won't notice any weight."

Nagato demonstrates by going off on her own, her own large rigging coming out at high speed as she launches... then /slams/ into the Battleship's back without the Admiral not even budging... practiced you may think. "Come join us out here. We'll focus on movement first."
Alexis Maaka     Maaka steps out, looking kind of awkward as she tries to adjust her skirt. "I can't go out looking like this." She mutters under her breath again, trying her best to keep on her best poker face as she listens to Nagato.

"Yes ma'am." She says, trying to distract herself from the uniform as she goes to Position 7 and sets in. "Weight's no issue to me." She comments, watching Nagato get equipped first. That slam looks...painful.
Cirra Constantine     Cirra purses her lips at the explination, and the subsequent demonstration.

This is the /worst/ equipment systems she's ever seen, and she's seen the lockers at Beacon.

She keeps quiet though as she watches Nagato, wondering if it's practice, or if Nagato is just obscenely strong. She steps on to position 9 as Makaa steps on 7 and waits for the equipment proces to begin.
Yuna Kagurazaka Kagurazaka remains in position next to Yuudachi as Maaka and Constantine both go through the sortie process. It was tricky to get used to, as she still recalls, and there were a couple of mishaps which could have been even worse than they actually were - but it's not *that* different, in most respects, from her secondary transformations. Just a little bit more kinetic.

Honestly, she's usually more worried about the chains than the gear itself. "The system works just fine," Kagurazaka states out loud for Maaka's and Constantine's benefit. "It takes a little getting used to, but once you know the rhythm and timing, it's pretty trustworthy. And destroyer gear is a lot lighter than Nagato's battleship fit-out," she adds (encouragingly, she hopes).
Nagato     As soon as the two are on point, the system takes hold and under the two, the rudders are 'bolted' into place upon the two 'destroyers' ankles and they are soon sent forward rapidly off the launching platform. "Gun on right, torpedo on left. Hold your arms out and grasp for them. They will strap on themselves." As Nagato shouts out, falling into formation with the Cruiser and Destroyer, said gun, a simple 12.7cm twin barreled gun starts coming at them from the right side and a triple tube torpedo launcher from the left, both dragged by chains. There's a hand hold for the turret and the straps for the torpedo.

As soon as those are equipped, another set of chains comes whipping up and pulling something behind the two... the backpack system. It'll slam into them, and surprisingly, there's no pain, just a bit of extra forward movement before it latches around their waist and sets on. "Come move into formation, act like you're skating and you'll be fine...
Shigure     Yuudachi hums softly, rocking back and forth on her feet as she waits for the two newbies to get prepared. "Asashio-class gear is really light, poi~. Be glad the Admiral didn't make you wear the Fubuki-class, they're top-heavy. Or Shiratsuyu, we've got some mid-range balance issues."
Yuna Kagurazaka "It's a little more complex than 'skating,'" Kagurazaka points out, "given you have to move with the water's surface. If you act like it's a regular hard surface, you'll risk capsizing when a swell rolls past under your feet. Also, your equipment will help you move forward, so while you have to 'push off' some, it doesn't take as much force as ordinary skates."

This is really why Kagurazaka wanted to be here for Maaka's and Constantine's test run - while the full kanmusu like Nagato, Yuudachi, and so forth are definitely more experienced, Kagurazaka also remembers what it was like to adapt to that; it didn't come naturally for her, and she still remembers capsizing a few times. If she can give the two newcomers any extra help along the way, it's worth it.
Alexis Maaka     Maaka digs in her heels as she holds out her hands. As she's given the equipment, she tests the heft of the 12.7mm gun and the torpedo launcher. She holds them both, looking down each like she's trying to test the sights out of reflex. The way they're held is certainly...interesting, to say the least.

She braces for getting slammed with the backpack, and she grunts but otherwise seems like she won't let it get to her as it's affixed. Once that happens, she begins to skate slowly, her feet carrying her across the water as she keeps her footing.
Cirra Constantine     As she's moved forward towards the water, Cirra reaches out with one hand. She doesn't know the timing, she's never done this before. So hopes that this system is intelligent enough to target her arm somewhat. Fortunatly this seems to be roughly true as manages to grab hold of the gun and it straps itself to her arm. Reaching out with her other and the torpedo launcher does the same. This is satisfactory.

She turns slightly as the timing for the backpack comes up and the device latches around her waist, propelling her forward in a slide rathe then unbalancing her completely. It could use some polish, maybe keeping her back straight will help, but she didn't splash face first into the water. 'Skating' out inot the water, Cirra comes to a halt as she rotates her shoulder to check her range of movement. "I'm going to need to practice that." she comments. Manuvering. Manuvering is where this set up will get hard.
Nagato     Nagato gives a soft nod and a smirk... "You will get enough practice, I'll have you on constant sortie to get used to it. The Fifth Strike Force will be assisting you as well on it. You shall be going on regular expeditions and then training sorties to learn how to fire your weapons. For now, we will practice formations and moving." It's here that another destroyer comes into view with a distinctive hairstyle... and appearance and personality. She skates over to Nagato and then gives a bow to the two new ones.

"We are Hatsuharu." comes her prim and proper voice, "We shall deign to give you the assistance you need, and with six ships in this formation, we can practice all the required formations from Line Ahead to Diamond." she smiles once more and moves to Nagato's side as the Admiral speaks. "Line ahead is a simple formation, FLAGSHIP..." as if punctuating it, looing at Yuna, "Will take point, followed by every other ship behind her. Please demonstrate this by moving behind Kagurazaka and heading at a steady pace. I shall take up the rear."
Yuna Kagurazaka Kagurazaka waves to Hatsuharu as the destroyer approaches, and listens - although Hatsuharu didn't really need to emphasize 'flagship' like that, did she?

Well, she certainly made sure Kagurazaka wasn't distracted. The blonde idol nods to the others, then looks out towards sea, gauging which direction they ought to head in before she sets sail - at a fairly sedate pace, they aren't in a hurry to get anywhere right now. But if Constantine and Maaka have too much trouble figuring out how to get under way, they might wind up lagging behind more than they have any reason to ...
Alexis Maaka     Maaka snorts as Hatsuharu snootily calls out Yuna, and she nods as she keeps up with Yuna as she joins formation. She seems to be moving more like an ice skater as she 'jogs' to keep formation, guns at the ready. "THis is easier than I expected, not gonna lie." She muses, kicking water up with every step.
Shigure     Yuudachi grins a bit as Hatsuharu comes along. She watches Kagurazaka set off, and 'kicks' at the water, before easily skating up into the second slot just behind the SDP Light Cruiser. "Try to keep a steady pace, we're just cruising to practice formations, okay." she comments back at the newbies, offering a reassuring little smile that comes off as just a minor bit predatory from the Nightmare of Solomon.
Cirra Constantine     The information about formations is perfectly sensible. When Hatsuharu arrives, she nods respectfully. The 'we' was noted, but there are worse personality flaws. When ordered to move out, Cirra turns and moves by skating over the water to fall in line. Moving forward in small speeds seems easy enough.
Yuna Kagurazaka If you want 'snooty,' Kagurazaka has dealt with *far* worse than Hatsuharu's royal 'we'. And now that the emphasis on being the flagship is behind her (for now anyway), it's basically just a regular training cruise. Yuna will still need to get fully used to being in charge of a group of kanmusu (ersatz, honorary, or otherwise), but for now?

She just glances over her shoulder briefly to make sure everyone's lined up properly. "Maaka, you're yawing, don't 'kick' so hard. And be careful about splashing anyone astern. Constantine, you're doing good, just keep your speed steady and watch your distance." She gives them an encouraging smile, then turns her attention forward again ...

And accelerates, gradually and not by much in total, but enough to help the two new girls get a feel for how fast they can go like this. Just a taste - she's not TRYING to push them to their limits.

Unless, of course, one of the full kanmusu thinks they *should* ...
Alexis Maaka     "Eh?" Maaka looks back. "OH! Sorry, couldn't resist." She says, before she slows it down and tries to move more normally. Thankfully it's not that hard to get the hang of sailing regardless, accelerating a bit faster when she sees Yuna do it, and she nods to Cirra to do the same.
Shigure     "Mmm, I think we can go a bit faster, don't you think, Flagship?" mentions Yuudachi, as she easily keeps the pace. She's probably the fastest out of the group here, after all. "I'll leave it to your discretion, but maybe we can try the other formations, even if we don't actually go into combat practice."

The Destroyer seems different out on the water. Still happy-go-lucky, but there's a streak of professionalism that just isn't present in her off-duty, or general around-base personality.
