Nobeard     As Nobeard had said on the radio, this place was a nice little spot of fairly peaceful folk... but not naive. They had an airforce, and it looks like they were set up on a little moon orbiting a gas giant. There's a person-sized warpgate at the edge of town... which should give an inkling that the place is a little more significant than it first appears, despite the small size. There's a larger warpgate in orbit, which is presumably where Nobeard popped in.

The pirate's ship is showing a few scores along the hull, but the defense force is in worse shape. After fighting a little with Nobeard, the two smaller ships were now in a desperate battle against... several other ships. By 'several' it's 'a lot' of ships, as there are two huge red-colored spider ships, and five smaller spiderlike ships. They're in pitched battle with the two defending ships, and the One-Eyed Jack, Nobeard's ship, is actually crossing one to give a broadside in support of the defenders, rather than bolting.

The beholder happens to hate neogi more than anything else.

It's a lot of ships though, and the two Deathspiders may not be as well-armed, but they're more massive than Nobeard's ship, and can take a lot of punishment. One of them has managed to break away along with one of the smaller Mindspider ships and is headed toward the city, where presumably the ground forces will need help repelling the invaders.
Drustan Cynbel Drustan Cynbel comes in through the person-sized warpgate, his helmet already obscuring his face. That's heavy armour, on a short and stocky fellow. He walks forwards with purpose, shoving aside any civilians who get in his way. His hand is already on the hilt of his sword, and he's leaking visible darkness, a shadow clinging to him as he is preparing himself for a fight.

"Piss of ye bloody slavers!" He calls out as he gets close to where the Mindspider ship is approaching, and then he draws his sword, the big silvery blade has an odd wave-like edge, but this quickly gets obscured by the thing bursting out into flame, he points it upwards, "Even the Dark Lord banned the bloody practice, I'll cut ye down and make a throne out of yer bones!"
Duet Fortuna     If there were any doubt about Duet showing up, that settles it. Hearing what a Neogi is makes a pretty easy decision, and even were she still with the Confederacy she'd have probably stepped in. The masked woman arrives through the land gate though, ready for battle and with her sword at the ready.

Yeah, Affida. The sword that looks like a piece of wobbly and dull shit. "Mn. Looks like we'll have incoming soon enough. Mordred, why don't you get in touch with the defense forces and lend them a hand." She'll be doing the same, searching for a good spot to engage whenever people will land.
Soma Cruz Not too far behind the heavily armored fellow, a young man in a white coat emerges.

With a giant, gleaming white blade in one hand. To those who can tell such things, it radiates holy power. He moves forward to stand with the Knight(?) and the Lady(?), his coat fluttering.
Maya Slavery? Maya was irrational about the subject given she spent a good part of her life looking over her shoulder in fear of other slavers coming from the lower shells to raid Oasis for slave stock. She had avoided that but the hate? It burned brightly still after a life time, even with the aid of some of her companions from the Heratic war and smashing the majorty of the slavery trade on her world?< Maya was always ready to bring wrath towards such and Maya would be ready, she was armed, she was ready and she was carrying herself in a way no one likely has seen her in since the time she fought the Primal Ifrit.

"Your time ends now. Make peace with any gods you have, for you will not get mercy from me."

Maya ia full on in wrath mode it seems her rifle's ready and she's looking like she's going to not hold back today.
Sarracenia      Even a prissy, crazy princess doesn't like xenophobic eel-spider slavers. And as it sounded like the invasion force was sizeable, Princess Sarracenia had taken off in one of her country's best battleships. Shiny guns, powerful engines, a well-trained crew...

Unfortunately, when it emerges from the warp gate, the 100 foot wooden galleon airshipand her crew find that they have just entered a battle for which they are likely well outgunned and out-tonned. Still, the crew (who seem to be plant creatures with tulip-like heads, large leaves for arms, and roots for legs/feet) quickly go about their battle stations. Large broadside cannons emerge along the length of the ship, at two rows on each side, and underneath a cannon nearly half the size of the ship carrying it. And all begin firing at the enemy spider ships. Bullets as big as a person fly from each broadside cannon, even those facing away from the ships, before the Bullet Bills all arch and swirl through space toward the other ships.

The cannon underneath also fires, and the entire ship rocks back and forth as a Bonzai Bill shell is launched. This one is almost a third the size of the wooden ship, and carries a payload of devastating explosives.

However, the princess is not staying on the ship. Her personal aircraft, the Dyna, launches from the deck of the wooden battleship before making its way down toward the surface. The hammer-toting princess figures she'll be more help on the ground. Somehow, the wooden aircraft doesn't burn up on re-entry. Once she lands in the city, Sarracenia leaps out with her hammer and dashes for the nearest apparent source of trouble. "You icky spiders things won't be enslaving anyone else today!" she shouts as she prepares to smash things up, princess style.
Mordred     "Sure," comes the incorporeal voice of Mordred, somewhere around Duet. With no other comments, the presence, invisible but absolutely impossible to miss if you can feel magic in any shape or form, then wanders off, towards one of the two defending ships caught between Nobeard's ship and the invaders.

There's not really a warning when, on the bridge of one of the beaten up ships, Mordred suddenly materializes, the silver and red-clad knight in heavy platemail lacking her helmet, or sword for that matter right now, arms crossed and grinning.

"Yo, you got one minute to impress me with a status report before I get bored and just do things my way."
Laer     Laer does not actually give a damn about pirates. She's mostly here because she enjoys Nobeard's company and that of his crew, and they've always treated her fairly well. And they make for good stories to tell later.

She'll step out of a portal onto the the deck of the One-Eyed Jack, her portal as ever seeming to shimmer with confetti-like sparkles coming off it. She's not going to take direct action right away, of course, instead stretching out as she looks at the scene before her, brushing herself off, and most important of all making certain that everyone on the ship notices that she's arrived. This is partly because she's self-absorbed, of course, but it's also so noone shoots her with a crossbow or anything because they weren't thinking an elf would be on board.

"So who's trying to enslave who here, remind me?" She'll ask, tilting her head and looking over at the nearest crew member. "And do you want a ship set on fire?"
Staren     A ship, of sorts, flies out of the larger warpgate, but it looks more like a 20th century jet fighter than anything else. It shakes and sputters a bit as Staren's sensors tell him he's surrounded by air and he tries to switch propulsion systems, only to find that the air is a bubble moving WITH him, so the jets won't turn on. CRAZY MULTIVERSE PHYSICS.

Staren takes in the scene. That spaceship cannot be allowed to enslave the people below... Staren sees Nobeard's in trouble though, so he fires a trio of missiles at the ship Nobeard's fighting. Who knows what the air-bubble effect will do to his targeting calculations, but maybe they'll have enough fuel to correct.

Staren dives into the atmosphere and the plane goes into an extremely undignified tumble as he goes from 'air following him' to 'air following the moon' while Staren curses -- arms and legs with precision thrusters unfold from the machine to stabilize it, and THEN he chases after the ships headed for the city. It's okay! He's got it now. Probably.

Besides, when this is all over, he can have fun studying all that data!
+armor Star Hawk
Amalthea     There's another figure that arrives, just a pace after Duet and Mordred. It is Amalthea. The mechanical mythic has once again donned her armor, sword slung lazily in the crook of her arm and over her shoulder, shield held in her off hand.
It is a knight's duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves. She is here. It is as simple as that. And she hasn't turned in for retirement just yet.
The unicorn's lone eye glances skyward at the ships overhead, fingers drumming on the grip of her cherished sword. "Right. I'll just get into the thick of it." She says before pausing. "... Duet you know that sword uh..."
Is there a polite way to say 'looks like complete garbage?' "... Nah nevermind."
Nobeard     Up in space, the Bullet Bills crash into a few of the ships, and do cause some damage. Sarracenia is quite outtonned, but not as outgunned as she might expect. Especially with the big gun that shatters some of the wooden beams above one of the spider legs on the smaller ship, causing the 'leg' to sway drunkenly. The ship is still coming, though, and comes down faster than the Deathspider above, disgorging some of the troops onto the ground. The first wave are a dozen gaunt, ragged slaves... who appear dead in the eyes. They're fairly quickly cut down by the local militia, but right after that the hulking and massive armored beasts mentioned on radio appear, stomping forward. There are two of them on the Mindspider.

A half-dozen more of the brutes drop out from the Deathspider, and tear right through the militia unless someone does something to stop them. Atop two of these are the little eel-creatures mentioned, but it should be noted the Deathspider is still hovering above, prepared to let out troops... and to engage Sarracenia, whose ship gets bombarded with three huge stones from the catapults on board the Deathspider.

Well, at least the militia is happy to see help. The leader is yelling, "Cut them off and guide them to the barricade across the eastern quarter! We've got a killing field set up there!" The Umber Hulks are tough, but the leader, an aged-looking elf - they get old? - is not panicking. The arrival of help has him pointing out where to best engage the attackers.

Staren's missiles do impact, causing the other Deathspider's hull to crack. This makes it withdraw for a moment, giving the navy a chance to regroup. THEIR leader is also... suspiciously capable. Seeing Mordred appear has him turning immediately. "A fleet of Neogi appeared and headed right for us while we were engaged with the pirate. The pirate immediately turned to aid us, but this is a huge fleet for Neogi. We're outmassed by the ships, and they're determined, moreso than usual. We don't have the troops to board, nor the firepower to put a real dent in them before THEY board US."

And the Mindspider nearest this ship IS approaching, the 'legs' opening... obviously meant to trap another ship for boarding.

Nobeard is not on deck, but Jack is. "Laer, nice to see you. I'm not sure why the neogi brought such a huge force, but the Captain doesn't like them to begin with. Neogi acting ODD really worries him. He's pretty sure they might have some loot though, if there are that many. Probably magic. Bigger question is why they're here. And why apparently the Elven Imperial Navy is already on their way."
Mordred     "Cool story. So, by all accounts this ship is completely boned, isn't it? Well, tell you what, get your men off, I'm taking over," Mordred commands, with just a hint of supernatural charisma in her voice. It's not very high rank, but if these people aren't anybody it should incite them to follow directions well enough.

"I mean, you can stay onboard if you want, but spoiler, there won't be a ship left when I'm done, so you'd be throwing your lives away for nothing. Should be a pretty cool show to watch though. Go help the people down there or find a rock to hide under, I don't care."

The ship's going to be pretty defenseless for a moment there while everyone abandons their post and gets off, but Mordred's calculated the risk as acceptable.
Drustan Cynbel Drustan visibly flinches when Soma approaches, when that holy blade shines near him. "I'll thank ye not to fight too close to me, ser. The Light an' I, we ain't gettin' along." He answers, and as though to push the point, the five foot tall man in full armour of black metal plates draws further darkness around him, while moving in a direction where Soma Cruz is not.

The brutes that jump down draw his response, and Drustan moves with practiced motions, between short legs and heavy plate, he is by far not the fastest, but that burning blade is no joke either, magic flowing through it as he strikes at the nearest brute in his way, already steeling himself and rooting himself in the ground to take whatever beating may come.
Laer     Laer will make a face as though she's just bitten into something incredibly sour. "There's an Elven Imperial Navy? ...There's an Elven Empire?" Given that she's clearly elven, one would expect her to be more excited about this, or at least less put off. Still, there's not really time for too many explanations, and she'll pull the guitar off her back, starting to strum it to build up an electrical charge.

Also, to start working on helping Jack and the other crew work faster, of course, but mostly she's just wanting to get ready for a big bolt soon. "Let me know what the most important target is. Preferably something that probably wouldn't have had loot on it anyways, because ashes of loot will just make all of us sad." Of course, there might be slaves on some of those ships too, but Laer's less worried about that. While she doesn't get worked up about slavery, she's not quite willing to treat people as loot, and thus they're of lesser direct value than the things that COULD BE loot.
Duet Fortuna     "Hmn..." Duet is a little worried about the whole slave armies thing. That's weird. Well, her blade was made by people on that ship - or one person, anyway. She might as well put it to the test. "Amalthea, I'm sure this will prove a little difficult. Let's all try not to get too far apart."

She moves FAST though. Not like a blur, but faster than a human should. She's going after some of the larger group of Umber Hulks, and she's letting her blade do the talking Affida lashes out, and the Umber Hulks will not find her sword to be dull or wobbly at all. Her end goal is to try to grab one of the Neogi riding one of them.
Maya Maya now that she's arrived has had a chance to get set up the core engine on her rifle whines as it draws power from her and the enviorment. Maya is more than ready for a fight now. She doesn't care about any loot she cares about freeing any slaves there are on board and taking out the mindspider, eels whatever ther hell these crimes against existance actually are. She'sthen fires several beam shots at the enemy spider things, she'll do what she can to help the Militia and she gets to work.

"Understood, I'll do what I can."
Soma Cruz Soma's dark eyes narrow ever so slightly at the man swathed in darkness, but he relaxes and nods once. Who is he to judge someone's power source? That'd be like calling the kettle black.

As the creatures begin to carve through the militia, Soma explodes into motion. It almost seems like he's skimming across the ground as he calls upon the Soul of th Black Panther, a rippling shockwave surrounding him. He leaps, jumping once, then again in the air, yet again, this time skyrocketing up and over the crumbling lines.

Readying his blade, the young man falls towards the ground, landing in the midst of the attacking wave. The Climah Solais rings as he swings it, trying to carve into the FORCES OF DARKNESS!
Amalthea     Amalthea takes a moment longer. Not out of hesitation, but taking the moment to put some forethought to her next choice. That endlessly deep blue eye drinks in the battlefield like she were slowly savoring an overly bitter wine. Not entirely a pleasant taste in the mouth, and looking forward to the bottom of the glass. She ponders; just where to insert herself to be the most useful she can be for the situation.
It is a few beats longer before she settles right for the front lines, when the slaves and massive form of multiple umber hulks descend. She stays her blade against the slaves. Perhaps death would be a mercy for them, but that is not her decision to make as she wades into the thick, sword swill sheathed as she bats a few of the unfortunate souls from her path. If the militia finish them, that too is not something she can stop. It's the beastly insectoid monsters that are her targets; lest they get to the local defense and go to town. Amalthea is the one who moves to stop them. "Aye." Murmured to Duet when the masked woman moves, the unicorn keeps pace with her.
There is, a brief, moment of bewilderment. Watching Affida lash out- far more balanced and deadly than the sword looks like it has any right to be, as the unicorn joins against the Umber Hulks. Into the fray like this, she still hasn't drawn that blade, but with a mighty heave of her shield she bashes a claw aside. From her position, she becomes much like a wall of heavy plate, providing sudden instances of cover and protective armor not just to Duet, but even to the swordsman elf; Drustan, in the furious close quarters. He is there. He is giving aid. That is enough for her as she covers for the two when they may need.
Staren     As Staren flies down towards the surface, he fires a stream of railgun rounds at the deathspider. He's not quite sure how to take it on, even with a giant robot, so he'll start with the smaller one.

The Star Hawk stops and hovers by the mindspider. It hasn't drawn its missile launcher pod -- instead, it places its hands against the largest part of the ship, and pushes. The ship may be nearly twice as heavy as the Star Hawk, but the mecha has a /lot/ of thrust. And if he can push it out of the city, he can work on destroying it without dropping debris on the city!
Sarracenia      The piranha plant sailors on Sarracenia's wooden ship seem surprised when their ship actually manages damage to one of the enemy ships. The boulders impact the Sundew ship and timbers are splintered all over. The rocket engines that are attatched to the masts of the wooden ship sputter before refiring as sailors on all decks make battle repairs. And the ship still has plenty of guns, including the Bonzai Bill launcher. All fire again, broadsiding the massive Deathspider with missle-sized explosions from the Bullet Bills and one bomb-sized explosion from the Bonzai Bill. And with the big ship still dropping troops, the Sundew ship moves to try and get below the other ship, lighting up its underside with cannon-fire and trying to close off any drop points it might have.

Sarracenia is also attracted by the drop of those brutes onto the battlefield, and starts to reach into a small sachel around her shoulder. But, with so many people engaging the hulks at close range she decides not to use explosives...for now. Instead, she does her second most favorite thing! She leaps in with that DK Hammer held high, the head as big as the princess herself, and brings the massive piece of enchanted metal down on the head of the closest iron beast. "Taaaake this!!" the princess exclaims as she brings the hammer down, obviously expecting that she will be able to fell the beast in one blow, and the impact sends out a shockwave of force that sends her long hair fluttering back and causes her dress to flutter as well.
Nobeard     Umber Hulks aren't unholy or anything... just monstrous. And huge. And strong. Which makes for a good match for the enemies arrayed against them. One on one, they aren't a match for any of the fighters arrayed against them, so long as Amalthea, Drustan, and Duet can keep themselves from getting complacent. The burning blade causes chitin to crack and hiss, as the burning blade causes one to stagger and resort to... trying to meet the elf's eyes with that swirling, confusing gaze. It might be easy to shake off, but if unprepared could cause a precious delay. Duet is in the same boat, though instead of burning, her blade slices through with surprising ease, part of a claw landing on the ground as blood spills. She's still one 'hulk' away from one of the neogi though... neogi that are shouting, "Slave-meat fighting! Kill them! Find elf-meat!"

    Elf-meat?

That shouting ends when Maya shoots one of them, causing the other to scree and skitter behind the bulk of the Umber Hulk. The others are charging toward Drustan and Duet, not just trying to confuse them with that mystical gaze that attempts to distort perceptions. They're heading to gut them... and end up hitting Amalthea HARD.

Meanwhile, Soma slashes down with his own attack, causing a hulk to stagger back with a hissing grunt. An answering swipe is sent toward the soul of Dracula(not literally, but the guy who has it).
Nobeard     The princess brings the hammer down, but uh... one of the neogi squeals to capture her, which is making it a little awkward. That neogi is currently ON FIRE though, which has him rolling around. Her? DO neogi have sexes like that? Either way, huge claws are trying to grab Sarracenia, only thwarted by a stunning blow from the hammer.

Laer gets an answer from Jack, "The mindspiders are being a pain, take care of one of them if you can. I doubt they have much of value, packed as they are. If we want to know what's up, the Deathspiders are more likely to have that evidence."

Mordred gets a brief stare, then a... smirk? "Huh. Adventurer, huh? Well, this ship won't last long without something serious to bolster it anyway. MEN! ABANDON SHIP AND GO TO THE GRAY KESTREL!" That must be the other ship. There are /lifeboats/ on this thing, which is weird. Either way, they're bailing. "Good luck, then!" Awful trusting, aren't they? Then again, the idea that everyone would be ganging up on the neogi is NOT EXACTLY farfetched.

Finally, Staren makes the damaged Mindspider creak. He can feel it resisting the motion with the helm, but it does slowly start to move. Unfortunately, some of the slaves are crawling over the side, dropping down to try to chop at the Star Hawk. For the most part this does jack, but they are hollow-eyed and broken slaves, which means they could end up clogging the jets or something.
Staren     Dead-eyed slaves crawling over Staren's machine is FUCKED UP, but not damaging. He can't really use the jets in hybrid mode, anyway, so it's just rockets and maneuvering thrusters.

Staren activates the beam blades in the wrists, which try to extend into the ship, and the leg packs begin firing some kind of thin, curving beams. Not a strong weapon, but he can just keep firing it and it's not like the ship can dodge in this situation.

"Come on..." As soon as Staren's got it so it won't come down on buildings, he goes wild with the beam sabers and railgun, trying to bring the ship down through sheer damage!
Mordred     "Adventurer, knight-errant, bored, whichever you want to call it," Mordred briefly answers, before she actually moves to physically take command of the ship. Is it a wheel? Console? Something else? Doesn't seem to matter. She's never been at the helm of a ship like this, but it comes naturally, without a hint of hesitation. The damaged ship changes course, predictably on a direct path to one of the Deathspiders. Full frontal. Straight for the 'head' of the spider-shaped ship.

But the damaged vessel wouldn't be enough to do much damage normally, if that ship is well protected. Probably. What's going to help is when a surge of prana ripples out of the Saber, forming plates of wicked, spiky silver and red plate mail armor around the ship, designed to turn it into a pointed battering ram.

An aura of rage seeps out all around it, flames and spilled blood animating the cannons of the ship and firing fiery red volleys towards the Deathspider as it approaches. It'll be another convenient round before it reaches its target and engages operation RAM INTO IT, so the Neogi have a chance to stop the obviously incoming ship.
Soma Cruz The Climah Solais bites, but it's not enough to fell the beast. Soma draws back, lifting his weapon to the defense. The great blade catches the creature's claw in a shower of sparks.

He is unprepared for the raw might.

Soma is flung backwards, landing on his feet. He kicks up dust as he skids backwards, coat rippling. He comes to a stop, and whirls the excessively large weapon in one hand, flinging his sword arm behind him. With his free hand, he grabs his coat and opens it wide. Strangely, three balls of fire burst free in a wash of heat, scorching through the air at the Umber Hulk.
Amalthea     Amalthea's defense is sound. But even she can have trouble with beasts that are just simply teeming with such physical strength as an Umber Hulk. And here there are multiple. She finds herself practically back to back with Drustan in the brawl, the armored unicorn remains resolute and grim; determined to not be budged.
It is a feat easier said than done, even for her. One floppy ear pricks up. The Neogi see other forms of life as meat. It incenses her. But she stands firm. She braces herself as the hulks come charging, shield at the ready.
The impact is jarring, her arm- all the way up to the shoulder goes numb. Her torso goes numb-- nearly her whole body goes numb as all that force is brought to bear on her, and she soaks it all like a steel sponge. The unicorn grits her teeth; even as armor buckles and her body groans in protest, her eye is wide and glowering with a fury as she is knocked aside, two long furrows dragged into the ground by her boots and leaving her staggered a moment-- near bowling her over entirely. But not quite.
Though she shambles back forward in lurching, stumbling steps, steam venting from her body, now her blade is drawn. No sooner than she hears from the radio the true nature of Neogi ships and their helms as Lifejammers, Faith is pulled from the scabbard. Her main goal is to once more return to her defensive position for the other two. But her soul brims with a sudden heat; bringing her god-slaying sword to bear now in flashing, glimmering strokes, with minimal mercy spurred on by righteous and indignant, fury.
Maya Maya is moving in and takes one of the things down, she doesn't even pause as she moves to go after them but ther'es more coming in and they are going after Amalthea, thiswon't do for Maya at all she flips leaping into the auir and shifts her rifle's combat mode as she does so and she sees Ama just oging to town on them as the god-lsaying oerd is out and stirking. Maya shoots while he's up in the air targeing those eel things she can. She makes a three pointng lnding rises, strts moving agian and keeps shooting.

"I'm with you Amalthea."

Maya hasn't even got into slinging spells just yet either. She's also not talking to them she's not shouting, there's nothing to say to these things.
Drustan Cynbel It takes a moment for Drustan to realize what's going on with their eyes, and he staggers as he's hit hard by the charging umber hulk. His armour and magic make him resilient enough to take it without too much concern, his connection to the earth beneath him makes him barely budge, but without doubt he's going to feel that in the morning. That hit hard.

"'ware! Don't look in their eyes!" He warns others around him, and then he makes a concerted effort not to do so, keeping his back to this strange creature. His blade lights further as he learns more about these Neogi, the fiery passion of his kind channeling through his blade, even though the holy edge of Amalthea's blade makes him uncomfortable.

This is more important right now than his squabbles with the Light, and he pushes forward, the inferno in his hands brought down on any slaver or slaver minion in his vicinity. "Freedom is not a matter of alignment!" He cries out, as his flame takes on a distinct sulfery smell, as brimstone infuses and further ignites his flame.
Duet Fortuna     Duet's blade licks out again, though less deadly this time. Amalthea is tanking for her, and Drustan seems to be of a similar type. This means she will be the agile one to hit and run. The Blooded does some quick footwork, and readies another strike... only to pause. HEr own mental defenses are significant, but she didn't expect the eyes to glimmer that way.

Drustan's warning shakes her out of it. "Tch..." She's actually kind of annoyed at that! Dodging around to the side, she does quick slices with that unnaturally sharp blade... and also jabs the uninjured Neogi mentally, just giving them a waking nightmare long enough to hopefully make them stop screaming. If it doesn't have any special mental defenses, that should work.
Laer     "Right. Right!" Laer will reply, brightening up at the thought of that. She'll judge the charge on her guitar, thinking it over for a few minutes, before lifting a hand up and bringing it back against the strings, lightning and a green glow coming off her hand as she works the song.

The lightning charge continues to work over the Eclectic Bass, but the green forms into an arrow, as though the guitar were a bow. She'll fire it off into the air, a toxic glow and smell to it as it magically seems to zone in on one of the mind-spiders, straightening out in midflight before trying to strike in and form a burning hole in the side of it.
Sarracenia      Stunned but not down? Sarracenia huffs as she uses the counter-force from her hammer blow to flip upward and land on the back of the Umber Hulk. If there is still a spider, she uses that massive hammer on the strange, icky creature before taking the reins. "You are a sturdy steed. If only you were not so ugly, I might try to keep you." She expects the creature to follow her commands once she is riding it. Of course, even if it doesn't, the pair would cause plenty of havoc as Sarracenia uses her hammer to knock the creature's head in whatever direction she wants it to go. Either it will follow her directions, or it will perish!

"What is all this talk about meat? People are not food!" Sarracenia says as she tries to play bowling for Neogi. "And I am not for capture!" Sarracenia might be as dangerous to her allies as their enemies are at this point, riding on the back of that hulk. Then, she pauses suddenly. "Wait...badguys want to capture me~!" she says, sounding...cheerful for some reason?
Nobeard     Staren is going after the Mindspider... and carving it up may just be the way to go! True, parts of those legs are starting to tumble down to the city below, but the buildings can handle small pieces. They can't handle the rest. It also makes the ship lighter, which means it can be pushed. Might be better to shove it toward the lake, though. The Deathspider is still looming... but it's starting to move, and lurch a little. The railgun seems to have started a fire, probably by dislodging a fire already on board.

Mordred finds a little problem. When the helmsman leaves, so does power to the ship! Fortunately, steerage is partly from the rigging, so the ship's wheel helps... and empowering it with RAGE causes a surge forward, lurching out to send the ship toward the Deathspider. The Wasp(that's the type of ship) has no built in ram... so the forecastle CRUMPLES and the fake crystal eyes shatter, while the winglike rigging snaps like kindling. The armored plating helps a lot though, and the impact causes massive cracks to form along the crystal abdomen, opening up large gaps in the heavyweight ship's hull.
Nobeard     Laer brings out her spells as a bard! As usual, Scarlet makes a pleased noise at seeing another bard, and even gives a little musical accompaniment to boost Laer's own considerable abilities. Laer's a more skilled bard, so Scarlet can do better assisting. The arrow hisses and makes a hole in the hull all right... which is worrying enough! Hull holed! Screeches from the neogi inside have the crew sort of shuffling over to fix it.

This is a great opportunity for an armored giant space hamster to leap across and into the ship though.
Nobeard     "BRING THE ELF-MEAT!" The neogi is screaming... and then thrashing about, as Duet manages to sneak in a nightmare. It's only a momentary distraction, but it quiets that noise at least. Which is soon to be very quiet, because Amalthea's anger slices into the Umber Hulk, drawing great gouts of blood... which soon steam, the ichor connecting with the flames of Drustan's blade moments before the beast is finally felled.

Soma is also having some trouble with his at first, but the raw strength and the confusing gaze are the greatest assets of the beasts. With a roar, it starts for Soma, only for the blasts from the three fireballs connecting. It staggers, then lurches forward again, obviously injured. Spells might be the best way to handle this one.

Maya's shots are missing the agile eel-things... mostly. Thing is, she only needs to hit ONCE to cause the injured one to go down, and the other is distracted enough that it shrieks and clutches hard at the hulk it is riding. A bad decision, because it's falling.

What else is falling? Sarracenia's. Hammering it on the head like that is making it stumble, even though they are kind of stupid beasts to begin with. Claws lift up and try to grapple her, but even if they succeed, a moment later the hulk BURSTS THROUGH A WALL! This would be more impressive if it had intended to do so. It's kind of rampaging through, but... that lets the militia get it into the killing zone. Where one shouts, "Get away from it!" Maybe because they have a heavy ballista aimed at the beast. Sarracenia could probably just hammer it to death if she wants, from the cracks in the carapace she's already done, but the militia want to feel important. Up to her!
Soma Cruz So the magic worked. Soma breathes in through his nose and jams the tip of the Climah Soilais into the dirt. He closes his eyes briefly, accessing his powers more deeply, digging a Soul from the depths of his being.

He flips his coat open again, and what happens next is....grotesque.

Three tentacles swarm out from behind his back, all with weird almost biomechanical apetures at the ends. The extra appendages all train on the Umber Hulk, the apetures irising open.

Then the lasers start.

Scorching beams of terrible power lance out, racing through the rippling air at the beast to cut it down.
Staren     Oh hey, a convenient lake! Staren pushes the mindspider over it and then goes to town on it... It may be a giant flying ship, but are the materials it's made of actually magical? Staren conducts a field experiment to find out, involving many rigorous trials of mecha hands, feet, beamsabers, and railgun vs ship, to observe the results!
Sarracenia      Even with that hammer, Sarracenia is fairly agile. She manages to avoid the grapple, but the claws catch her in the side, ripping her dress and exposing a bit of skin. Unfortunately, she can't really avoid the crash through the wall, so she swings her hammer and smashes the wall out ahead of herself. When the militia calls out that they are entering the killzone, Sarracenia stands up on the back of the Umber Hulk and springs back, then swings her hammer again to give the creature an extra push toward its death. She doesn't mind giving the citizens their fun! What sort of princess would she be?

When she lands, she gives her hair a toss, then starts back toward the others at a run. If there are any more spider things, she is going to squish them! Even if they wanted to kidnap her, slavery is not okay! Nor is eating people!
Mordred     Mordred doesn't waste time. The impact probably completely destroys or at least wrecks the Wasp (people below might want to watch for falling ship chunks), but the moment the section Mordred is in starts breaking open, Clarent flashes into her hand, the large silver sword driven forward as the Servant does what Sabers do: sword stuff. Specifically, the weakened hull of the Deathspider, with the clear intent to cut as much of it off as possible, and maybe even make her way inside.

Chances are the head of the spider is the deck, right? I mean who'd put a ship's deck in its ass-section? Either way, keeping it simple. Ram in, cut in, start murdering dudes and breaking everything.

Mordred was never one for complex plans.
Laer     "Clear!" Laer will yell out after the space hamster leaps across, because she wouldn't want to hurt the space hamster at all. Mostly because it would annoy people she'd rather not annoy. She's careful to angle her next attack the opposite of the way the hamster goes within the ship, thus, trying to take out some of those neogi attempting to manage repairs.

This is by using the charge she's built up, a momentary column of magical lightning blasting from the end of the guitar into through the hole she'd carved out before, letting Scarlet's backing shine as her solo takes a momentary pause. The elf's hair will stick in all directions, going fizzy from the electricity in the area, before she sighs with happiness and goes back to a more down-tempo playing, moving back to support songs for the crew around her.
Amalthea     ''Ware! Don't look in their eyes!' is quite simply the only warning Amalthea needs to hear, and she takes it to heart. Though her own eye is wide and wild as she wreaks what havoc and harm she may, keeping her gaze firmly focused on center of mass, rather than look her foe in the eyes.
She does not need to look them in the eyes to swing her blade.
Drustan can clearly fend for himself in thie fight, and though her sword may make him uncomfortable, in this moment he has nothing to fear from Faith, the blade's attention turned wholly elsewhere as she focuses more of her attention on ensuring Duet's safety.
Psyber will probably turn her into tin cans if anything happened to Duet, anyway. Mostly though the other two can be as flashy as they choose to be or not, until that umber hulk is good and dead.
"You hold yourself well in a fight." She idly compliments the mountain elf.
Duet Fortuna     Duet slows her assault when it looks like the Umber Hulks are going down. The 'wobbly' blade proved quite deadly, and she flicks the ichor free of it as she catches her breath, stepping back behind Amalthea again.

"Indeed," she agrees, breathing heavier. "Thanks for the warning, too. I got a little dazed. Is that it for the ground forces, or is there mopping up to do?"
Nobeard     Staren manages to finally shove the ship away... and carve into it. The destabilization makes the keel start to snap, but there is a problem. While the parts are falling into the lake, and making some splashes, there's just one tiny detail that Staren forgot. Namely, there's still someone on the Lifejammer helm.

If Staren knows anything about lifejammers, he'll know this is for the best. But does he think about that when the chair with a thrashing woman strapped to it topples out of the sliced-open cockpit?
Nobeard     Soma is playing it safe now... by sprouting tentacles. Umber Hulks don't like that, as it turns out, because the laser beams can cut through the armor. One arm thuds to the ground as it gurgles, mandibles gnashing, and it starts to stagger forward before a combination of Soma's powerful attacks and the... admittedly mostly gnat-stings of the arrows from the militia finally take it down with a loud CRASH!

    Smaller group has been cleared.
Nobeard     Mordred is correct. When she leaps in, there are slaves mostly just trying to patch the hull. They pay mostly no attention to Mordred, positive or negative. THIS place is weirdly free of hulks... and smells funny, too. A strangely chemical smell. The ship is higher than the other Deathspider though, so there's no worry of falling debris. The Wasp wreckage is caught in the Deathspider's gravity plane.

It's easy to find the helm though. Just follow the tortured screams. But where are the neogi?
Drustan Cynbel Drustan drives his blade through the Umber Hulk's head to make sure it's not getting back up. and then the heat of his flame dies down some. "Not half as well as the bards sing." He answers Amalthea, and then chuckles mildly, taking some cheer in their initial success even though he keeps his eyes open, "They call me the Darkbringer, for I shall bring an end to the reign of Light. But that's neither here nor there."

It's clear from Drustan's movements, slim as they are, that he's looking for more trouble to charge towards. Whatever metal his armour is made out of, it's no steel. "I will take the heads of these slavers, or whatever passes for their heads. Are you with me?"
Nobeard     Mister Scribbles will be having a fun time in there, won't he? Because the lightning bolt from Laer fries a lot of the crew, leaving the rest to wrestle with the fuzzy and cute giant beast in armor. Claws seem to be doing a good job, but lightning is much faster, crackling through and making the ship shudder from the impact.

"Nice hit," Jack complements. "Too bad the Cap'n is busy, he'd have loved to see that. I think that's one Mindspider down."

Which leaves two of them on the remaining Wasp... not a good matchup normally, but they were already crippled by the Jack. Another rumbling boom of bombard fire lends some support. Jack notes, "They usually pull back when there's no profit in them continuing..."
Maya Maya is playing a form of rocket tag with the eels, and she's not short on ammo. ALso if they are focusiung not geting hit by her shots they are more vunrable to her allies taking them out. She doesn't care who gets them so long as they are taken down and out of the fight. "Not bad, not bad at all but we need to make sure this is done." Maya takes a moment.

"I'm with you Sir and Amalthea, I damn well have no tolerance for anything like this."

Her tone indicates Maya has ffar too much experiance with this it seems.
Staren     Staren slices open the... cockpit? Or engine room? Whatever it should be called, he slices it open and sees a woman tied to a chair. Curiously, she's screaming instead of dead-eyed like the other slaves. So maybe she's not... gone, yet. He turns off the blades and catches her. Holding her between giant robot hands as he does an aeleron roll to shake off the slaves, then holding her in one hand while a giant robot finger from the other reaches close, then the tip opens to reveal normal-sized hands and various tools. If the manacles are built into the chair, he looks for a release catch, otherwise, he cuts the chains with a welding torch. "You there! Are you alright? Well, not alright, but... are you still sane?"
Amalthea     "Bards do like their hyperbole." Amalthea notes. But that doesn't stop her. "But between us it was a fine enoug display." Though her brow quirks, it might perhaps be difficult to tell with only one eye. "Darkbringer, then." She repeats the introduction. "Amalthea." That's giving her own. She is not so presumptuous as to give Duet's for her, but does give her time to make it if she so pleases.
Despite the man's Blatantly Ominous Name, she can't say she is of a differing mind and opinion.
"I won't stop them if they flee. But I won't mind putting them out of everyone's misery, either."
Nobeard     A ragged cheer from the militia thanks Maya, Duet, Durstan, and Amalthea... and also Sarracenia and Soma, of course, especially as the ballista impales the monster, already stunned from that massive hammer blow, and pins it against a wall like a giant insect exhibit. Catapults are crashing into the Deathspider, making it finally start to turn away.

Then there's a problem for the ground crew.

One catapult shot slams into the 'head' of the spider, making it shudder for a moment. It was on its way up, gaining altitude... but then it starts to slow its ascent, before doing a nice little parabolic curve, reaching the top before starting to tumble forward... and downward, toward the city.

    Better act fast.
Mordred     Credit to Mordred, she doesn't slaughter herself some slaves unless they actually attack her, and if they do, she's going to use SOME moderation and aim to disable. With her very large sword, so it's going to be kind of bloody either way.

She follows the screams, though, looking for the helm of the ship. Stopping it should yield a very nice prize. Passing by cracks in the hulls, she does see what's going on on the surface-- a Servant's vision is absurdly accute, though she's no Archer. There's no point jumping out, she wouldn't make it in time to help.

She does extend a message to her master, Duet, though: "Master. If you burn a command spell to call me by your side I can use my Noble Phantasm to destroy that ship. Just putting that option on the table."

    She doesn't press it.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia gives her hair a haughty toss and raises a hand to wave as the militia cheers for them...only to freeze as that catapult hits and the ship that had been leaving starts to fall. "Gah! Incompetents!" she exclaims before running for her personal airship. She doesn't know if she can do anything to help, but she has to try! She sends a radio message once she reaches her Dyna-copter.

The battered Sundew airship that has been valiantly fighting moves in over the falling ship. The plant sailors fire tow-ropes from all over their ship, and even more leap down on ropes to tie even more. The smaller ship has pretty powerful engines, but the engineers push the engines to the max. If they can't lift the ship, they will at least slow it and pull it beyond the town!
Nobeard     The woman is struggling, jerking in her bonds. Her answer is... hard to get, because no, she doesn't seem lucid. Not for the most part. Staren's voice DOES get through to her eventually though, jerking against the bonds and focusing on the giant robot for an instant. "Kill me!" Those are the only words that slip out. She knows exactly how a lifejammer works.
Laer     "How do you think they measure profit?" Laer will ask, with a sigh. "If there was already a navy coming to stop them, they must have made a lot of noise on the way." But she doesn't seem too worried at this point, at least not enough to break out any ship-busting level magic at this point.

She's actually just using very low-level magic now, in fact, to inspire those on the Jack to greater levels of basic competence at what they're trying to do. It's barely magical at all, other than when she's around the truly inept and countering that.
Soma Cruz Soma watches the flying spider boat, brushing hair from his eyes. He grabs the Climah Solais and stows it. Somehow. He flips through his Souladex, searching for something of use. He assumes the mantle of power of a great one eyed giant and sighs.

"This is going to suck."

Soma crouches, power welling through his body and he rockets upwards in an impossible jump. Then he does it again. And Again. And again. He angles himself as he goes, moving into the ship's path.

At the same time, power coalesces around his right fist as he closes on the ship. He lashes out with his fist, raw magical energy exploding on impact.

Maybe this will help!
Amalthea     The ship is falling. That giant monstrous ship is falling. The fight with the Neogi may be done and over with but that does not end the danger does it?
And in the face of that falling ship, there is little Amalthea can do, watching wide eyed. She considers her jump pack. But even if she were to fly up and kick it into top gear it wouldn't be enough to so much as budge it an inch off course.
She's going to have to rely on the others. But it is something else that catches her attention, one floppy ear pricking up at a plea for death. She wheels around on her heel.
"Belay that!" She calls, already storming for Staren and the woman latched to the Lifejammer's helm.
Duet Fortuna     Throw him at it. "You're in adamant armor, how are we supposed to do that?" Duet points that out to Durstan, but she sheaths her blade. Taking a deep breath, a faint ripple expels from the masked woman as she holds out her hand. "But fine. Let's see if I can throw you as far as I trust you." Hah.

If Durstan accepts, he'll find that she's stronger than she looks... much stronger, as it turns out. A twist turns her around twice, spinning like for shotput, and then HURLS the armored elf at a much higher speed than would be expected, aiming for one of the holes in the hull.

    "BUY ME SOME TIME!"
Maya Maya can deal with a lot of things do a lot of things, a space ship falling oh this is bad she's starting to think of what she could do. Black Hole is powerful but she can't draw on the power of Septerra here to power p the spell to such a level. She's going to start channeling power, maybe she can try to fo something with her wards? No she's going to have to try to cast here and do what she can others are moving, but he knows it might bt too late for herself to do anything to with the ship but if any of the people gathered here's plans work? There's going to be need of proection possibly from falling wreckage, right? Maybe it will do nothing but if someone can deal with the ship? Whelp it's all Maya can do and she starts to Channel as big of a barrier as she can, for how much good it will do warding people like this? She doesn't know but it's better than nothing.
Nobeard     Sarracenia anchors onto the Deathspider as it starts to fall! The first thing her engines do is strain... because it's a BIG ship, and heavy. Fairly fully loaded. Yanking causes it to level out as the helm gets one last burst of power... and the punch from Soma's 'spell' slams into it, crumpling the side more and making it tumble to the side. That's... something, as it is headed for the lake, but it's not going to make it. It's going to take out /several/ inhabited buildings along the way, though at least it isn't DIRECTLY over the residential sector. Now it'll just take out hundreds instead of thousands of lives if it crashes.

But thus far, the heroic efforts are keeping it from doing worse than tearing off the top of a clocktower with one leg, and crushing a house's roof - just the roof, thankfully - when some of the rigging crashes against it.
Drustan Cynbel The elf it turns is far heavier than he looks, it's not just the exceedingly heavy armour, but he himself is far denser than one would expect from flesh and bone. Once at a sufficient distance, he starts to glow like molten steel and stone, then burn, and his sword is pointed straight forward. He tries to hit one side of the rigging, to take enough off to balance its path and make it descend in a straight line away from the city, instead of the downward curve.

Success or failure, he's likely to fly on further for a while, cool down and prepare himself for a rocky, terrified path downwards, mentally begging himself to know why he thought this was a good idea.
Staren     Staren figures she's begging for death because of the torture, but that's why he's got to free her! He's about to cut the bonds when Amalthea heads for him. "I'm not gonna kill her! I'm gonna free her!" he explains.

The mecha also launches plasma missiles at the Neogi ship. Maybe turning some of the hull to ash will lighten the load a bit!
Staren     Staren is saved from accidentally killing the random woman by Amalthea knowing how Lifejammers work! The tools retract, and the Star Hawk lands on the short of the lake, setting the woman and her chair down gently for Amalthea.
Amalthea     That timing.
Though Amalthea damn near halts in her tracks, skidding to a stop and staring back over her shoulder at Duet.
    'Dame Amalthea'...
Thete is a momentary, lingering, look. A long few beats. She says nothing. She says. Not. A. Thing.
She leaves Duet to her task, taking to a knee at the side of the woman bound to the helm.
"Be still." Murmured gently. Before she says firmly: "Staren break her out... Now."
Just as a silvery tear wells in the mechanical unicorn's eye and rolls down her cheek, onto the woman.
Duet Fortuna     Duet takes a deep breath and steadies herself. Much more magical energy leaks from around her. "I apologize for the deception. It was the only way. I trust you'll be discreet about this," she says to the others. Then she says quietly, "Blood of my father, spirit of my mother. Grant me your blessing in reaching within. Lady Chalaine, heed your mate's call."

    "Nightmare Seal Release."

The air around her picks up into a howl, and the masked woman's faint aura of blue becomes a brilliant, light purple in color, coalescing around her into a brilliant, massive snakelike being. Shining feathered wings stretch out a moment later as it blinks the single, deep violet eye. It's an apparition, wholly energy. And it's only there for a moment before the low-backed dress of the girl tears slightly with the eruption of her own wings, and the figure swirls into her, the energy sucked into her body.

Internally, ~You could have let Mordred destroy it. This risks us both.~

Mentally, 'I know, but I'm tired of hiding. And this is the only way without risk.'

~It still has risks. Those legs... this isn't built for what you're doing.~

'You're using my mental knowledge of architecture. I'm well aware of that danger. Are we doing this or not?'

    ~As you wish.~

As soon as the Deathspider levels out, Duet concentrates and lets her power wash over it. The spider legs /move/ and twist, slamming down into the ground first, to /push/ the ship over and flip it into the lake instead of careening through town. She's trying to 'walk' it to the lake.
Staren     At Amalthea's prompting, Staren brings the manipulators back, and cuts the bonds when she says 'now'. Watching curiously. He can guess how this is going to go, but it's not every day you see save-someone-from-death magic!
Nobeard     Staren's plasma missiles have some good and some bad effects. They DO hurt the hull, vaporizing part of it... and there WAS something explosive in there. It BLASTS outward, raining crystal downward in small chunks. Fortunately it's just part of the hull, and that makes it lurch... only for Drustan to tear through the rigging, shearing along it and righting the tumbling Deathspider to a clear path away from residences. Whew.

At least it IS lighter than before, so the 'legs' that Duet animates slam into the street, bow a little, crack... but then the weight shifts to the other legs, letting her walk it for another two steps while THOSE crack and snap. Sadly, the flaming wreckage still weighs a lot, so the animated arms are unable to handle another bearing of the weight. They snap, crashing to the streets below in what is hopefully minimal casualties.

Then the flaming wreckage smashes into the docks, taking several boats with it, but mostly... boats. And sinking into the water, where the flames hiss and smoke.

The city is a bit of a mess, but there's very little MAJOR damage, at least. Cleaning those two ships out of the water is going to be... a chore, though.
Nobeard     Meanwhile...

There's something very wrong with the ship Mordred is in. She finds a neogi... dead. Throat slit. Bled out only a few minutes earlier. The poor soul on the Lifejammer helm is still there, but there's nobody steering. It's like they somehow bailed the ship without a lifeboat.

Which, given this realm, is entirely possible.
Amalthea     Amalthea does not wait. She knows the woman will either live or will die. Normally, life is more sacred to the old unicorn knight to simply leave the woman at that, because there is something else that has her focus. Her ears stand straight up. Lips set into a thin, grim, line at what she hears.
    'Dame Amalthea'.
Psyber's focus upon his masked assistant.
The half-angel's request over her radio that she and only she had been privy to.
    No body was ever found.
    'Nightmare Seal Release.'
The unicorn turns, eye wide and staring in rapt silence, watching intently. Not gazing upon Wrathborn. Not watching the immense Shajem halt the descent of the crashing Neogi ship.
No, she watches the /girl/. The way wings spread from her back. Hearing that familiar recitation.
The pieces fall into place. They click together and snap properly where they belong, as the unicorn rises to her feet and whispers a name.
    "... Elliana Fairchild."
Her gauntlet creaks, fingers balling into a fist. And she begins to approach with a single-minded intent and conviction, heedless of whatever or whomever may suddenly try to stop her.
Someone ELSE can handle disaster management right now.
Nobeard     The woman screams again as Amalthea approaches... and the tear works its magic, giving her a breather. Even this powerful magic can't save someone strapped into a lifejammer for long, but fortunately Staren has excellent timing, releasing her bonds and letting her slide out of the helm without worry... or pain.

That said, it was a horrible experience she went through, and she still looks pretty dazed and empty-eyed. Maybe with some therapy she can recover her wits.
Staren     Staren is totally taking that magic chair for study! They might need to figure out a way to remote-shutdown neogi ships later. Or something. Who knows?

Staren is terrible at following all the crazy stuff his allies get into, but the Star Hawk has excellent sensors. Its head turns to watch Amalthea go. "What?"
Sarracenia      Once the falling ship hits the water, Sarracenia's ship breaks all mooring lines and lowers down onto the water itself. The strain on its engines was a bit much, and they will need to make some repairs themselves before they can get back to the Sundew Kingdom. But, both the piranha plants and the princess are quite satisfied with this result. They helped! The many plant sailors salute their princess as she flies around in the Dyna overhead, and she returns it with a happy giggle before moving to land her wooden helicopter on the airship and hops out. "We are heroes!" she exclaims, obviously delighted that they saved nearly all of the city!

Of course, the princess will leave the cleanup to others. She would never get her gloves dirty for something like that. "A few more exploits such as this, and people will have to adore me more than that prissy Peach!"
Duet Fortuna     The wings fold in and vanish, and after one final flare of power, the aura vanishes again. Oh, Wrathborn isn't sealed again... he's still in there. For whatever it is worth. It leaves her free to breathe again. Even at her full power, something THAT BIG is not... trivial. It's been a long, LONG time since she let it out like that.

And it would appear that she has Amalthea's attention. Rather than greet her first, she lets Wrathborn seep out just a little more. "It has been some time, Amalthea. It is good to see you well."

Then in Duet's normal voice - which is different from Elliana's, oddly - she adds, "I expect you'll want some words."
Amalthea     Amalthea's stare is as intense as it is deep. The unicorn's expression is set; a silver-steel mask, impassive and betraying no emotion for a long, long, moment as she stands before 'Duet Fortuna'.
"Wrathborn. It has been a while, yes." She replies coolly.
Words though. Her gaze meets the girl's.
"No." She says. That's the end of the discussion. No words. Not now, not later.
"You have a huge fucking problem, and you really need to seek help over this chronic lying thing." That is her first and foremost answer, before she turns her back.
"Let's get the fuck out of here before another surprise falls in our goddamn laps. I told Psyber I'd get you back to him no matter what stupid shit you did tonight."
She pauses. Once again stopping only to look back at Elliana Fairchild over one armored shoulder.
"I forgave you long ago, anyway."
Staren     So that lady he wasn't paying attention to was secretly that OTHER lady he wasn't paying attention to who was Nathan Hall's nemesis or something. Amalthea has it handled; Staren will stay out of this.

The Star Hawk crouches low, and its canopy opens. Staren hops out to collect the woman and the chair. "You awake? Hello? No? Guess not..."

He straps her into the spare seat in the back of the cockpit for transport. He'll check on the radio if there's anywhere to take her -- if not, she'll get to wake up in Heal Plz Hospital on Afterus.
