Guest Psyber     Despite the bitter winter cold, Psyber has asked Duet to meet him at the harbor of Boston. Specifically, at the place that, so long ago, he told her he was going to bring back the happy girl Elliana once was instead of who the world had forced her to become to deal with the trauma of her childhood. The half-angel looks pretty anxious about the meeting, though. Much more so than normal, considering the two had such a casual hanging out dynamic despite their romantic involvement.

The half-angel is standing on the edge of the pier, hands thrust into the pockets of a heavy winter coat. Despite the fact they lived together, he had specifically requested Duet meet him rather than them carpooling together.

Grumbling a bit to himself, he shifts back and forth to try to warm up on the chilly, ocean-front meeting spot.
Duet Fortuna     A bright red scarf is the distinctive feature of Duet's outfit. Coat, hat, gloves... she's dressed for the cold, that's for sure. Psyber should be well aware that her cold tolerance isn't that bad, but she does need to keep up appearances... and 'resistant' doesn't mean 'comfortable' in the cold.

A puff of breath fogs theair as she approaches, sliding up next to the edge of the pier. "I remember this place," is all she says in remark to it.
Guest Psyber     "We've had a few conversations here over the years. It's kind of important to me." Psyber says to her with a smile as he turns around when she manages to show. He keeps his hands in the pockets of his coat. He's not quite as weather resistant as she may be, since he's more about endurance than resistance. He lets out a slow breath and then smiles a bit.

"It's one of the places we used to hang out when you couldn't be at the office. It's where we've had some heart-to-hearts. I figured, since it's been such a recurring place in as long as you and I have known eachother, you wouldn't mind if I asked you out here for your Christmas present."
Duet Fortuna     "It's a good place, that way," Duet agrees, hopping up to perch on one of the support poles. Casual, yes... very casual. Though she hasn't failed to notice the signifigance of the place she's been brought to.

"It's still a place where I can admit to my previous life," she adds. Then she turns her head to peer more seriously at Psyber. "My gift, eh? I still need to give you yours... in a few days."
Guest Psyber     "I will look forward to that. In a way, my gift to you is a gift to me as well, so I'm sorry that's a bit selfish of me." He admits to her, watching as she hops up onto the support pole. And then she looks at him more seriously and he grumbles, "I'm not good at this kinda stuff, but here goes."

"Duet, I'm not... the best person. I'm far from perfect. But... I'm working on it. And I'm working on fixing a lot of my issues," He begins, waffling on his footing a bit, "And I know that you, as Duet, have only been around for pushing on a year. But I had something I wanted to do this Christmas. Especially in the wake of the re-shuffle and all the crazy new stuff going on."
Duet Fortuna     "Oh, yes, I'm going to criticize you for being an awful person," Duet says with a smile. "The one who tried to betray and murder you. The one that you didn't give up on trying to find a better way. You're a horrible person, Psyber." She kicks out a foot... then just gently nudges with a toe.

"None of us are perfect," she reminds him. "I seem to recall that YOU taught me that."
Guest Psyber     "No one's perfect. But I do know that when I'm around you, I always try to be a much better person than I am now," Psyber says, swatting at her toe when she reaches out with the foot to nudge him, sticking out his tongue at her. He pouts a bit and then draws a hand out of his jacket.

"That's why even though you've only been around a short time and are still settling into this new life..." His hand is holding a small black box in it. He opens it and reveals a pretty simple engagement ring inside, "I was hoping you'd agree to some day marry me. It doesn't have to be right away... or even soon. But some day."
Duet Fortuna     Duet does slip off her perch when things get more serious in tone... and the ring is popped out. She huffs, breath fogging again. "I thought that might be it." Of course, she saw all the signs. Which means she probably thought of an answer.

"Some day," she allows. "When I feel like I've left behind my old life enough that I can walk without the mask. I told you I wasn't ready and didn't know when. I think that would be... a good first step, don't you?"
Guest Psyber     Psyber nods his head at Duet and beams widely. He steps towards her as she hops down and then lets the smile recede a bit to a more subdued one, but still happy none-the-less. He takes the ring out of the box and grasps one of her hands to slip it on, "Some day is better than no day. And I understand wanting to take things slow like that."

He puts his arm around her shoulders a moment later and pulls her in against his side, "It'll be nice when you CAN take it off, by the way." He consider it, "Amalthea seemed... to accept your identity. And Himei too. Those are big steps. I think the faction change might help things too."
Duet Fortuna     "I'm not surprised at those two," Duet says leaning a little. She spreads her fingers as the rings lides on, looking thoughtfully. "Just as neither will be surprised at this. Amalthea said she forgave me before I 'died,' and... well, I wasn't sure about Himei, but she was very grumpy toward me... and I think it was because she thought I arranged Elliana's death. I can never figure out that girl, entirely."

A small shiver. "Thank you. A step toward a normal life is..."
Guest Psyber     It's a very basic ring. Just a simple gold band with a decently sized and decent quality diamond in the center of it. It's nothing too fancy. Psyber grins as he slides it on her hand and then leans in to peck her very gently on the lips before standing back up, "Himei is... Himei. She may have blamed you. I think she was SUSPICIOUS of you, because you came in and got close to me very quickly."

He laughs and then sticks his tongue out at Duet, "Nyeh. Top THAT Christmas present."
Duet Fortuna     Nodding, Duet tsks at the response regarding Himei, but she seems satisfied with the ring. No doubt she's not wanting something huge and easy to see. "That makes sense..." Then she chuckles again and taps Psyber on the nose... though a faint flush is in her cheeks after the kiss.

"Be careful what you wish for," she warns. "Maybe I'll animate your new office building and have it make bad puns all the time."
