Sokka Sokka was chilling on the couch, leaning back, feet up, letting Toph lean on him if she wanted. They were playing some multiplayer turtle game. For him, there was the screen, which had it in full color and detail. Toph, however, got the other thing, this weird metal contraption that had little tiny pieces of metal that moved up and down rapidly, to match the pixels on the screen. It had an iron groove for her to rest her feet on and the controllers jacked into it. Frankly, it was a marvel of futuristic technology. Tony and Staren had really out done themselves.

He glanced over, "So, enjoying so far?" he asked, then... "Oh, pizza! Dibs!" OH MY GOSH HE WAS ONE OF THOSE PLAYERS!
Toph Beifong     Weekends are a good time to just kick back and relax, and why not visit the family as well? Toph certainly seems to enjoy heading back to Malibu from the Paladin flagship, the Ad Coelum, ever so often just returning to the place she calls home to spend time with her family. But also to try out the game that Sokka, Staren and Tony made for her birthday. After the party she had been busy cleaning up after the guests, and she didn't get to try it back then. So now she's trying to figure out how this thing works. It helps that Sokka is explaining it to her, and the blind teen looks somewhat less confused where she sits, leaning against Sokka as she rests her feet on the metal box, holding the controller. "It's a bit weird to control it though..." she mutters, then frowns when Sokka calls out dibs. "You got the previous pizza, Meat Head!" she snorts, luckily she's too busy controlling her character on the game to reach out and punch him in the arm.

"Miss Beifong," Jarvis intones for the two teenagers to hear, "must I remind you that you did invite Mister Universe over? The takeout you ordered should be here shortly as well, and according to the times you and mister Sokka have died on this stage I calculate that you will spend... 23 minutes to finish it at this point." At that Toph sighs, then nods. "Yeah yeah, I won't forget. Steven knows the way, and the driver has GPS. We can just pause the game, right?" she asides to Sokka.
Steven Universe     Almost as if magically summoned, Steven appears at the door.
"Hey, Toph, umm, the voice let me in. He said I was expected. Do you know how much his voice reminds me of Li'l Butler? Anyway, it's been a while, huh? Oh, um, hi! I'm Steven."
Steven waves amiably to the guy he hasn't met yet.
Sokka Sokka glances up and then stares for a moment. Then looks to Toph. Then to Steven. He cocks an eye, pauses the game and... "Hey lil Man, you must be Steven, right?" He jumps to his feet and walks up to the kid, holding out his hand and giving it a shake. "Not much, mind you, but a lil bit. I'm Sokka, southern water tribe. Nice to finally meet you," he said with his big, dorky grin. "Love the star. It really makes you... shine!" Yep, right to the jokes.
Toph Beifong     Upon hearing Steven's voice the metalbender turns her head a bit, then grins. "Heya squirt! And yeah, that's Jarvis! He's dad's butler, kinda."

"That oversimplifies my function, Miss Beifong," Jarvis replies dryly.

"Yeah yeah, he also taught me how to read, he's the babymonitor, he helps with the suits and all that crud. Anyway, long time no see!"

Making sure the game is paused she gets up from the couch, then blinks when she realises that the delivery guy is outside with their food. Because teenagers need food when gaming. And that makes this a good chance for the two guys to say hi. "You two say hi, and no cheating on the game while I get our food!" she states to Sokka, punching Steven in the arm as she passes him on her way to the door.
Steven Universe     "It's nice to meet you, Sokka. And thank you, this is my absolute favorite shirt! I always felt the same way about it! Oh, and Jarvis! Sorry I didn't catch your name, I was so surprised the house could talk!"
He peers at the game questioningly, "Whatcha playing?"
Sokka Sokka grinned and motioned to it. "Some turtle game Tony installed." He moved up behind the couch and let the kid sit. "It's a real shell-shocker. Here, you can take my spot. Just go around punching, kicking and stabbing the robot ninja guys. You and Toph can play for a bit."

He then glanced down. Kid looked to be about Eve's age. "So, you a friend of Eve's? How'd you and Toph meet?"
Toph Beifong     The blind girl returns from the entry hall, carrying a big bag of takeout food. Because why not order a lot when you're buying food and there are people over? She heads on over to the couch as Steven sits down, placing out some takeout boxes so the boys can grab whatever they want. There's also bottles of iced tea and water... as well as chips for dessert.

"I think Steven and I met on the beach outside his house at first. Though we've hung out before. Too bad you couldn't make it to my birthday party though, you would have loved the food and beach volley ball tournament." Taking one of the containers for herself, she points out a box for Sokka. "There's extra meat in that one for you, Meat Head." Just her way of showing she cares about you.
Steven Universe     Steven, having picked up the controller he was offered but not unpaused yet (he's a considerate kid!), looks at all the food with a grin. "Oh jeez, sorry I missed it! I love parties and volleyball! Thank you for the food, too. So, the turtles are the good guys, and there's robot ninjas? Which one am I?" He waves the controller at the TV, and collects a random takeout box for sampling.
"Oh, oh man, I totally get it! It took me a second, but that machine is your controller, isn't it, Toph! I still kinda remember what your senses are like!"
Sokka Sokka chuckled softly and gave Toph a little kiss on the forehead. "I totally have the greatest girlfriend of all time," he said, before taking her box and taking a bite. "Mmmmm. Delicious. Just the way I like it. Ninety percent meat."

He then glanced to the kid and smiled. "Okay, you're the ninja with the staff. Toph's the one with the swords. And no, that machine is her screen, it's how she sees. She uses the same kind of controller we do." He motions to the two hooked up to the system. "Here, you can take over for me."

He leaned against toph as she played... and totally occasionally distracted her by leaning in and kissing her neck and nibbling her ear.
Toph Beifong     Flopping down on the couch next to Steven, Toph gets seated with a box of fried rice next to her, shoving some into her mouth. "Just eat, I have enough money that I can buy food and stuff for my friends when I want to." Hey, if it makes them happy, why not? She's got her academy built, though she might want to expand on it in the future... but she's not exactly /poor/. "That's kinda why I invited you over today, it's been a while since we met, and you still hadn't met Sokka," she explains, gesturing to the older teen as he kisses her forehead.

As for the metal plate she's got her feet on? "It's a bit different, and thinking in two dimensions is strange when I'm so used to fighting in three..." But it works, and somehow it seems people are happy to play games with her, so why not?

As they begin playing it's clear that Toph isn't exactly good at the game, especially not when Sokka distracts her, causing her to fluster and grump. "Hey, stop that! Feed me food instead if you wanna bother me," she grumbles, leaning away from Sokka.
Steven Universe     Steven chuckles at their antics, only a tiny bit awkward but mostly kind of excited-happy for his friend and his new friend... Though suddenly he seems a bit distracted himself, and is crushed by a group of foot ninja robots... Who names a ninja robot clan Foot anyway?
"Yeah, it's been too long! I kinda got caught up in some stuff with Mom and the Gems, and I missed hanging out with you." He gets a slightly wicked look. "I didn't think you'd replace me though. After everything, that day on the beach..." He tries to look serious, but he just can't keep it up and breaks into laughter.
Sokka Sokka snickers. "What? Awwww, now you don't wanna cuddle? Video games are tearing us apart!" he teased with his big, dopey grin. He then snickered at the kid's words. "Oh dear. Toph? Could it be? You've given up your water triber... for a star?" He mock swooned. "Alas, I don't know how much my heart can take. But, if that is where your desires lead you, I won't stop you. But please..."

He took a bite of his general tso's chicken. "Whenever you eat take out, think of me," he teased. Before sitting up and slowly feeding her too.
Toph Beifong     "Those guys hit like trucks, watch out!" Toph warns Steven perhaps way too late. And not too long after she finds herself facing the same enemy... who pushes the poor turtle into what she assumes is water. "Oh, crud!"

As for Steven's words, it's easy enough for Toph to hear that he's not serious. And she snorts slightly with a grin. "What? Each of my friends are irreplacable!" she reminds him, reaching out to punch him in the arm. The fact that he laughs makes her grin wider. "Actually, Sokka here is among my oldest friends. He and his sister found the Avatar, the guy that I taught how to earthbend, remember?"

Sokka earns an elbow to the ribs. "We can cuddle /later/, it's kinda hard to focus on video games while being oogie." At least Sokka is secure enough to joke along with this all, not that she expected anything else. "I was originally going to run off with a aquatic monster, but then the entire deal just turned fishy," she asides, opening her mouth so Sokka can feed her. And then she leans into him a bit more as she hits the continue button. Time to try some fighting again!

"So how are you and the other gems, Steven?" she asks. "Any corrupted gems or Homeworld gems creating trouble for you guys? Need me and Sokka to help?"
Steven Universe     "Nah, everything kinda went quiet for a while, and Mom decided we needed to take a vacation, but the teleporters didn't work right and it took a while to find the way back from... You know, I still don't know where we went to. But we've only been back a few days, and Connie's... kinda mad at me? I think... she was really scared when I was gone so long and now that I'm back and she knows I'm safe... well, she told me she needed a little time to figure things out. It's kinda rough. I know we'll get it worked out though."
He does look kind of stressed, though he's unwinding a bit now. "The funny thing is, nobody wrecked Beach City when we weren't there."
Sokka Sokka glanced over, then nodded. "I see. And you gotta be careful about that, Toph. A monster like that can be a real beach to get rid of. Not to mention they're always so salty afterwards." He reached down and does proceed to feed her, pulling out a piece of his chicken and putting it in her mouth with a snicker. "I guess I'm the butler now."

He then glanced to Steven and cocked an eye. "Oh? Having lady troubles, kiddo? Welp, you've come to the right guy." Oh no. "Judging by how it sounds? This girl was probably in a frantic waiting for you. She probably thought you were dead or who knows what else. My advice? Give her her space. Text her from time to time, let her know you're there whenever she wants to hang out again. But don't try to push her, you'll just drive her away. At times like this, you just need to be patient. She probably is really mad at you for worrying her like that, even if it's not your fault, and she just needs some time to sort all of her emotions out to realize why she's mad." He paused. "And trust me. Telling her why she's mad does -not- help."
Toph Beifong     At that Toph frowns a bit. "Sorry to hear that... I noticed you haven't been around for a bit, you kinda notice when people aren't on the radios for a while. Just talk with her later, okay? Without nagging at her, though. I dunno, write a letter to prepare yourself with what you wanna say?" she suggests. Steven and Connie are best friends, aren't they? So it's not like their friendship is that fragile to begin with. And so she finds herself agreeing with Steven's comment about it will get worked out. "And hey, it's a good thing they /didn't/ wreck it, right? Unless Beach City loves reconstruction or something..."

It does appear that Sokka likes Steven, considering he tries to help him. And well, most of it sounds like really good advice... So she nods, even as she tries to figure out how to do a combo on the game. Ugh, this is hard! "Just... let her know that you're sorry if you worried her and that you will be ready to talk when she wants to. Don't make things too complicated I say."

Her attention moves back to the game. "... are all video games like this? Fighting and crud?" she asks Sokka.
Steven Universe     "That's pretty much what I was thinking. I know if it was me and she disappeared like I did, I'd be really scared and upset too. Thanks, you're both pretty smart about this stuff, and I do feel better hearing it from you guys."
He plays for a little bit, and gets consistently destroyed. "Wow, this game is really hard! Guess it's the kind you have to practice at. Like The Lonely Blade. Hmmm..." He seems distracted by Toph's screen now. "Hey, um, can I try that? It seems like a really cool invention!" That's the smoothest subject change ever, Steven. Real subtle.
Sokka Sokka snickered and nodded. "Yeah, getting your home wrecked sucks." He then glanced to Toph. "Hmmm? Oh, a lot of them are. There are puzzle games and strategy games, too. Like that one you and I were playing on my computer?" Namely him going 'Okay, should I send vikings or archers to get this orc' strategy games. "Wanna try some tetris? It's a block game."

He then turned to Steven. "You seem like a cool kid, Steven. Really reaching for the stars, go getter. So I'm sure she'll come around."

He then glanced down. "Well, you can try following the movements on the metal bars, but you'd need to use your eyes unless you can sense metal with your feet. So, try playing without looking at the screen, instead just look at the metal pixels."
Toph Beifong     If only the two smart people would have taken their own advice to begin with... or perhaps this is what they learned after the mess some months ago.

It appears that Toph has more problems with the game than Steven does, as she hasn't played video games before. Though when he points out the metal box she's keeping her feet on, she blinks. "Uh, I doubt this thing will be as useful to you... I see with my bending, and you can't metalbend..." she points out, not really moving her feet. Though if Steven wants to inspect it, then fine.

Sokka's suggestion for them to play some other games earn a nod, and Toph pauses the game. "Change it then. I can deal with blocks." Or so she thinks.
Steven Universe     "How does it even work? I mean, I can see bits of it moving. Is it moving inside too? Do you sense it that way? I thought if it was just touch, it'd be neat to try something so complicated, see if I could learn to feel stuff with my feet too! But I guess that's prolly pretty impossible without being an earthbender, huh? Still, it loks really neat!" He hops up, kicks off his flipflops and puts his feet where Toph had hers... and immediately hops back off of it!
"That tickles! Wow, you must have serious concentration skills to be able to use that!" He hands Sokka the controller back. "Lemme watch for a bit, I don't wanna hog the controller."
Sokka Sokka nodded, chuckling a bit. He switched out the game using the remote(since all the games were stored on the system itself.) He then took the controller and nodded. Soon the sound of tetris filled the air. "You want to just make lines, that's all," he said with a grin.

"Good luck, Toph." It wasn't going so bad this time, at least. A bit slow, but not too bad. At least, starting off. It'd gradually get faster the more they played. "And yeah, Toph has always been good at concentrating."
Toph Beifong     "I can sense the metal moving, yeah. Just like how I see with my feet. Don't you remember that part from the beach?" Why, she certainly remembers what it was like back then. Aside from being really weird, that is.

For now though, she focuses on the new game, placing her feet back on the metal plate after Steven has checked it out. "You get used to it. Kinda like how you see many things at once, I guess. I'm used to stuff vibrating and shifting all around me, and even in battle I can focus on the opponents I need to fight while knowing what's going on besides that," she explains with a shrug. It's something she's used to.

The game seems okay enough, and Toph quickly learns to rotate the pieces and put them into place. "Huh... this seems easy enough..."
Steven Universe     "Yeah, that's kinda why I wanted to try it! I was curious if maybe I could feel stuff with my feet like that again, but I guess a couple minutes of feeling it while distracted by the fusion isn't as good as a lifetime of practicing." He chuckles and watches the blocks fall and rotate and disappear. Then he realizes he hasn't actually eaten anything yet, and tries a bite from one of the delicious-smelling takeout boxes on the table.
    "Wow, thifh ish guff!"
Sokka Sokka ccked his head to the side. "That part from the beach? What, you give him metal bending lessons? He one of those magic kids, too?" he asked as he started clearing out a bunch of rows at once. FINALLY getting some line pieces.

He chuckled. "Yeah, Toph only gets the best for us. I'd never even tried this chinese food before, but we had similar stuff back home. Well, not home home. But in our verse."
Toph Beifong     "Huh?" Toph blinks, then shakes her head. "Nah, Steven's not a bender, so I couldn't teach him earthbending at all. I did try to show him, but nothing. But we kinda did this weird gem thing though, called fusion." That she will let Steven explain since he can probably do it way better than she can.

Of course she gets them good food, why wouldn't she? Toph grins at that, then pauses the game so she can eat some more. Sokka probably wants to finish up his box while it's still hot himself.
Steven Universe     Steven chews quickly and swallows, excited to talk about this subject. "Gem fusion! It's a thing Gems can do, mostly just with other gems, but since I'm half human I can fuse with humans AND gems! Like, there's two people dancing... or doing martial arts I guess, and then there's just the one! Connie and I practice a lot, and when we fuse, we're almost unstoppable!"
He takes another bite, and chews thoughtfully. "It's a little weird being a girl when we fuse though. There was this one guy, Kevin, who hit on us and was super creepy and stuff, but it worked out okay."
Sokka Sokka nodded, looking confused. "Huh. That's... weird. But cool, I guess! So you guys like, combine your powers? Sounds pretty rad. I'll need to see it some time."

He cocked an eye. "What? You fused and turned into a girl? That... sounds a little awkward. Hit on you and was creep..." He trailed off. "Yeah. There are a few guys like that. I find a swift punch in the mouth tends to sort them out. Like that Luke kid." NO HE WILL NOT LET THAT GO!
Toph Beifong     "Yeah, Steven and I fused, so he got to see how I see," Toph explains with a shrug as she continues stuffing her mouth with fried rice even as she leans more into Sokka. "And if you want to see it, do it when Steven and Connie fuse." Nah, she doesn't feel like fusing with Steven unless she has to. He's nice, but... Toph likes being herself.

It's not always easy being a girl, and some guys make it harder. Toph stuffs her chop sticks into the food, snorting a bit. "His name is Lute. And he does that, hitting on girls. I should have seen it coming, but..." Here she reaches up and waves a hand in front of her face.
Steven Universe     "Stevonnie looks a bit older than me or Connie. That Kevin guy kinda freaked out when he upset us enough to make us unfuse and we fell apart into the two of us right in front of him." He chuckles. "We could try if you want, I'm getting pretty good at it, but I don't know how a dance between you and me would work."
He grins at Sokka. and thinks for a moment. "We could be Sokken!"
Sokka Sokka snickered softly. "Yeah. Hey, I do the flirting thing, too. But I at least am classy about it. And I'd never kiss a girl on the lips like that unless she wanted me to."

He then blinks and stares at the kid. "... You're kidding, right? I'm sorry, twerp, but I don't really have any of that magic stuff like Toph here. I'm completely magic free, you know?" he said with a chuckle. "No bending, none of the stuff needed for fusing."
Toph Beifong     "Yeah yeah, I know you're not a creep. Nor does girl seem to be scared of you either, so..." Toph grins. "And I don't really care as long as he doesn't try to kiss me again or something." Or worse, because then she's bringing out the heavy rocks.

When Sokka refuses, Toph blinks and turns her head. "You know Connie is a normal human like you are, right? No powers. It would totally work, and that's the best way to learn about fusion... by doing it yourself," Toph explains, then moves to push Sokka up from the couch. "You fuse by dancing or whatever, moving in tandem. So get your feet moving!"
Steven Universe     Steven stands up, getting into the idea. He's never fused with a boy before! "It's harmless, really, and if you don't like it we'll fall back apart really fast. And I'm really curious what we'd look like!"
Sokka Sokka sighed, glancing to Toph. "I hope you see the things I do for you," he muttered. "Fine, so what do I gotta do? Dance with you? I'm not really much of a dancer, kid. At least not... well, with guys." He guessed he could ball room the kid. But he's so short, it'd be a little awkward.
Toph Beifong     What's that supposed to mean? "You were the one who wanted to see what fusion is about, dunderhead," she snorts, shoving more fried rice into her mouth where she sits, though she makes sure to place her feet on the floor now. Okay, so she is curious about this.
Steven Universe     Given the go ahead, Steven takes Sokka's hand, perfeorms a sort of courtly bow, and leads him into a fast-paced, athletic sort of dance. He's making it up as he goes, trusting Sokka to be able to keep up, trying to be considerate of how the taller boy might be likely to move. Once Sokka gets a feel for it, he eases back and gives over the lead, but still guides a little bit, spinning under the older boy's hand and dropping into a low dip, prompting Sokka to catch him. Encircled in the taller boy's arms, the two glow and dissolve together into one surprisingly taller boy, a little over 6 feet tall, with Sokka's clothes, Steven's star on a long tank top over them, and flip-flops.
Sokka Sokka froze. Shoot shoot what was this oh crud this was one of those MAGIC things he knew it UGH he hated these things okay, stay calm, stay calm.

"Yo, kid, you in here?" He was, relatively, calm. All things considered. It was a bit odd, but hey, he'd been through a lot. eventually you just stop being shocked by the weird stuff.

And then he realized... wait, was he able to sense the kid's thoughts and--

Oh yeah, THAT made him try to lock it down, and fast. He did NOT want the kid going into his mind.
Toph Beifong     The dancing isn't anything really special, so Toph continues eating as Steven and Sokka work on getting into rhythm or whatever with eachother. Though when Steven dips and Sokka catches him, the blind girl halts, leaning a bit forward in her seat. Sure, she can't see the glowing, but it's easy enough to tell when the two shapes become one. Blinking, she waits... and observes. "Hey, Sokken! You okay?" she asks, recalling how strange it had been back when she was fused for a few minutes. Sokka is probably having enough dealing with this now, but at least it's not dangerous.
Steven Universe     Sokken looks down, way down, at the table covered with partially-eaten takeout, and his stomach growls. "Wow... I didn't think I'd be quite so tall! This isn't much taller than I was. But it's a lot taller than I was!" He waves an arm experimentally, then summons his shield, a big circular pink shield made of energy and sporting a rose theme.
"Hey, it's bigger! Oooh, what would happen if we throw it? Wait, not in the house!"
Sokka Sokka is very impulsive. So hey, he actually gets magic. And it seems he has some control over what gets shown. He relaxes quickly. And then wonders what would happen if he threw it! So of course he throws it. Fortunately, it ends up going towards the windows and...

Wait, they were hulk windows. When it finally stopped, there was a LOT of broken furniture.

"Ah poopy your dad is going to kill me." Oh there were words other than poopy going through Sokka's mind!
Toph Beifong     Woah... they /are/ taller like that. And a bit more filled out too, not that Sokka is gawky or anything as he's grown up, but still. Toph rises to her feet and steps forward as Sokken inspects himself... and then summons Steven's rose shield. "Well, you should probably go outside and che-- no!"

Toph of all people know how impulsive Sokka is, and even as he throws it towards the window, the blind earthbender is already reacting. Kicking into the floor she raises part of it, effectively stopping the shield from going too crazy. But instead it richochets into the TV, breaking it as Toph winces. "Aaah, shit!" she says even as she bites down on her lower lip. That is probably going out of her allowance... So she turns to Sokken, raising her hands. "Okay, I know part of you wants to go a bit overboard, so... go outside and try stuff out, okay? Not inside. Dad won't kill you, really." Because he ought to know that Sokka of all people do have bad luck at times. And well, it's not the first time the TV has been utterly destroyed in this home.
Steven Universe     "WOW that was so cool! Jeez, Mister Stark is gonna be mad... But maaan, that thing flies, and bounces! Yeah, we better go outside before we do any more damage. Sorry, Toph... I wanna try running like this, I feel like I'm flying up here!" Sokken is more excited than one might expect, but then Steven is not great at impulse control either.
"Oh, flying really is different, especially on a... bison? Wait, I can heal people with my spit? Watermelon people?"
Sokka Sokka was kinda weirded out. A bit. But... hey, this was actually kinda cool. Wasn't often he had powers. He was actually enjoying this. A little bit. He grinned as he ran outside and started jumping! And jumping. And... Wow.

"HOLY SHIT!" he yelled, his eyes going wide. Oh, wow, he said a baaaaaad word. But hey, he was like fifty feet up. Then he yelped, landing, drawing the shield and trying to toss it towards the waves!
Toph Beifong     Better follow him and make sure he's okay! So Toph hurries outside after Sokken, closing the door and following the fusion as he jumps around. Well, Sokka is the oldest person Steven has fused with, so it must be interesting to be much larger. And for Sokka he gets to experience what it's like to have powers. "So what's it like being a giant man for once, Steven?" she grins. "And what's it like to be somebody else, Sokka?" Might as well ask! She knows what it was like when she and Steven fused, but hey, it might be different for the two guys.
Steven Universe     "Hahaha, this is great! I feel big and strong, and I have all this energy! I feel like I have a nuclear reactor in my chest!" He chuckles at his own joke.
Sokka Sokka chuckled and threw the shield again. "Yeah, it's all really coming together. I feel like a real power house!" Seconds before the shield hit the house nd bounced off a window. Wait, was that on purpose?

"This isn't so bad, Toph! You should give it a shot, it'll really keep you grounded."
Toph Beifong     "Watch the shield!" Toph reminds Sokken, frowning just a bit. The TV is already broken, so it's better to calm down a bit. And she cants her head a bit. "I did try it, remember? It's a bit strange to be somebody else, really... But it's interesting too, I guess." For the most part she enjoys just being herself.

"So... can you do something new when you two are you?"
Steven Universe Steven Universe says, "I dunno, but we might be getting out of hand!" He throws the shield again, which flies up at an angle and curves right back into his hand, boomerang style. "Ah, back in hand now! But maybe we should slow down, stop and smell the roses!" He sniffs theatrically at the pink shield with the rose motif. "Seriously, we should settle down, I ain't... LION!" He gestures to a clear section of land where Lion, unsurprisingly does not appear, because he is a cat and is contrary. And yet, it's somehow funny enough to get Sokken giggling.
"
Sokka Sokka snickered softly. "Yeah, we'd best calm down before Toph decides to... sokka us!" Ah, more giggles. "Careful though, for real. You never know how two-sided we can be!" Oh gosh, hitting maximum punnage. "Man, I hope our personality isn't too grating on you," he kicked some sand when he said it. Oh ha ha.

"I wonder what chickzula would say about this. I bet she'd lay an egg or really wanna wing it."
Steven Universe     Clearly having far more fun than should be allowed, Sokken reaches over his shoulder for a ukelele from a backpack he's not wearing, and when he comes up empty he shrugs. "There once was a boy named Sokken, He knew what he wanted to do. So he jumped in the air, threw a shield on a dare, and I tell you, that sucker flew!" Limericks. He is singing limericks made up on the spot, in a surprisingly smooth voice, far more grown up than Steven could do.
"He had all the best punny words. He leaped and he flew with the birds! But he had to come down, cuz his friend on the ground, might soon want to cut him in thirds! Hmm, that one was kinda crappy..."
Sokka Sokka just laughed and laughed and laughed after that. Finally breaking them apart. Sokka was still laughing, though, before reaching out and patting the kid on the head. "Heh. I like you, kid. You and I are gonna be good buds, okay?" he then gave him the THUMBS UP OF MANLINESS! WOOOOOO! Before turning to Toph. "So, how about we head back inside and... start cleaning up. Yeah... oh boy."
Steven Universe     Steven is laughing every bit as hard as they separate, ending up giggling on his back in the sand before getting up in time to be patted on the head, which gets another laugh out of him. "Oh yeah, you're FUN!" He returns the Thumbs Up with a grin, before realizing the mess he helped make. "Oh... Oh yeah, we should definitely help fix that."
