Yang Xiao Long     "Yo, Laura? It's Yang. Come on by Beacon, you wanted to know about the Huntress licenses right?" The Blonde says into her Scroll, leaning on the railing at the airship dock of the school. She then slips it closed and back into her pocket, gesturing to the Bullhead, which then lifts off and heads out to the pickup point. Coordinates for a rendezvous are sent to the mutant's radio, and the Bullhead will be parked there, waiting.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney receives the message, sending an acknowledgement as she stands up from the battered couch in the safehouse, making her way to the garage where her bike awaits. It's a quick ride to the warpgate, and a few jumps later she's in Remnant... The mutant teen had only been here once before, responding to an emergency distress call, and this was quite probably the first time she'd actually get a chance to talk to Yang in person. About half an hour after Yang put the call out, Laura arives astride a black sports bike, killing the engine.
Yang Xiao Long     It's a short airship ride after pulling up back to the Academy. The pilot, a young sounding man, speaks over the radio. "Hello and welcome to Nevermore airlines, fasten your safety buckles and make sure your seats and tray tables are in their upright and secured positions." a joker, this one. The ride is smooth, and the side door opens to show the blonde waiting with her arms folded. "Yo." The blonde grinning widely, an openly friendly expression.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney maintains a straight face throughout the Pilot's spiel, but she does strap in as ordered. Once the dropship settles onto its gear, she unstraps, climbing out to face Yang. "Hello. We met before, on that rescue mission. We did not get to talk afterwards though. You actually get paid for fighting 'grimm'?"
Yang Xiao Long     "Well, yeah? Hunter's gotta get reloads for their Dust supplies." replies Yang. "Yeah, I remember you, sharp claws, kinda crazy." she remarks, smirking a bit. "I mean that in a good way, kinda gotta be crazy to do what we do."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney raises one eyebrow. "I would say my mental state is more stable than most given that I am still a functioning person. And yes, I do have claws, and they do not require reloading." She flexes her fingers, stretching a bit. "I noticed you seem to have a force field of some sort around you. Strikes do not directly hit you."
Yang Xiao Long     "That's my Aura. It's the outward expression of my soul. It's used for defense, and offense." replies Yang, unfolding her arms and stretching. A shimmer of yellow washes over her body, focusing around her fists mostly, but showing an even spread everywhere. "Only way to survive really. Grimm claws can go straight through even hardened steel.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney looks around, making sure that nobody's looking in her direction, before clenching her right fist, and popping the claws. Two silvery blades slip through her skin, blood welling up in the new cuts. "I doubt they can go through adamantium. I have not found anything that can." The claws disappear just as quickly as they appeared, cuts healing over within seconds. "I heal quickly."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang watches, then shrugs. "Cool. Anyway, c'mon. I'll show you around, then we can get your paperwork in for a license." she says, turning and scooping the air in a 'come on' gesture, before walking off towards the main building.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney nods, heading after Yang. The two probably draw a bit of attention, Laura contrasting sharply with the blonde brawler. "This is a very large school. I went to one like it... once." Clearly, there's some history there.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang doesn't attract much attention these days. She's old hat. But the darker broodier girl does get a few looks from some of the nosier people. "Pretty big yeah. The Second and Third years are all out on field duties, just the First years left... but those monikers are a bit misleading... the ciriculum got extended because of the Multiverse having a hissy fit a few months ago." she shrugs. "Sounds like you have some history. Care to share?"
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney lifts one shoulder in a half shrug. "There was a school for people like me. My father introduced me to it. I had to leave eventually though. People were uncomfortable around me and avoided me. I decided I needed to find myself." That works, doesn't really give away too much.
Yang Xiao Long     "Fair 'nuff." replies Yang. "Just don't wander too far searching, it's a dangerous place and some things you can't heal back from." says Yang in a muted tone. "You'll probably find Beacon's a lot more open, we have Faunus and Humans here, working together."
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney nods in response to the warning, continuing to follow Yang. She doesn't seem like she's buying the second bit though. "Faunus are the people with animal features, yes? They are not scary, or repulsive to look at. Mutations are not always as discrete as mine, and I am sure people here would still be alarmed by my claws."
Yang Xiao Long     "Animal features, yeah. But some of them can be pretty bad to look at." Replies Yang, then shrugs a bit. "Vale is very progressive. YOu're safe here, if you don't cause trouble, the Hunters in training won't cause any for you... except maybe Cardin, don't let him get to you. He's an idiot.
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney nods again, seeming slightly more convinced by this. "This Cardin is a bully? I have dealt with them before. If he tries to intimidate me, I will return the favor." Continuing on, after a moment she adds, "It will be nice to have a reliable source of income. Maybe I will get enough to afford my own apartment."
