Rhapsody     Welcome to Dusk-17! It's an Izzet League bar and tavern a fair number of floors up in the Nivix Spire, with a door leading out onto the span that can take someone to Thirix if they are so inclined. Today, in this most steampunkish of bars, a number of Izzet League members, friends, allies, and a few news reporters, have all come to hear the Guildmaster announce... something. The message that had been sent out said it was important, a restructuring of the League, but in such a way that the Izzet could start to help out wherever they could, whenever possible. Currently, the draconic guildmaster is sitting on the bar itself, chattering with whoever wanders up. No actual questions are being answered, despite how often they are asked. Simply 'wait and see' is given to most folks that ask and repeat the question.
Ainsley     Ainsley shows up dressed in a pair of shorts and a baggy t-shirt, with a necklace covered in literature-themed charms. She is not here in any formal capacity, but she is still curious about whatever announcement the guildmaster of the Izzet might have. Partly because she has a personal duty to keep an eye on the dominantly magical worlds in the Multiverse to help preserve their order, and partly because of natural curiosity of her own. She manages to order something at the bar in the dialect of the bartender, and finds somewhere to linger near Rhapsody.
"Hi!" she greets, sounding peppy and excited, complete with a parrot-like puff of her many feathers.
Iria Even in Izzet League they've got a bar. Well, when you need a drink, you need a drink and you gotta go someplace, right? Unless you want to try making moonshine.

It's not too hard to miss Iria, given her crimson cape that she wears over her body is pretty noticeable. She doesn't take notice of anyone who might be staring at her, nor does she care. She simply makes her way to Dusk-17 and enters quickly. Upon spotting Rhapsody, she gives a slight smile and a nod before taking a seat nearby. "I came as quickly as I could," She says before ordering a non-alcoholic drink from a waiter.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace announces her presence with the loud thud of a metal-reinforced skull on the doorframe of the bar, and the word "TWAT!" at high volume in a self-insulting tone. Completely distracted by the person she was talking to - a fellow BASE jumper of Izzet origin - the giant mouse had completely forgotten to duck, and the heavy case she's carrying drops from suddenly-nerveless fingers.
She crouches to pick up her bag, and ducks through the door, apologising to anyone offended by the language. She steps up to the bar. She orders herself a mug of tea, looming over pretty much everyone in the bar.
"Evening all"
Yuna Kagurazaka As a rule, Yuna knows that bars, taverns, pubs, and other places that specialize in alcohol are basically not her kind of place to be. But this is an Izzet League event, and she has enough friends among the League to make a point of being here anyway. Still, her Beacon Academy uniform probably looks somewhat out of place.

At least she shouldn't be mistaken for belonging to any of the (other) guilds, right?

"Hey Rhapsody!" the idol singer and sometimes-warrior calls out, waving to the guildmaster on her way up to the bar. A bit of discussion ensues when she can get the bartender in between other orders, and after finding out what options there are available which *don't* have alcohol in them, Yuna collects her drink, offers payment, and finds a good place to sit.

(It's probably going to be apple cider of some sort - regular cider, not hard.)
Corona Arclite Corona fits in pretty much anywhere in the Izzet. But this tavern is just a lot more fitting than some of the other places. So it's little surprise to see that the vixen engineer was already present.

Leaning chairs in corners must be a Brimsteel thing, because that's exactly what she's doing. With her head bowed just enough for the brim of her stetson to obscure most of her face, bar lights glinting off the goggles strapped around the headband. She's clearly not sleeping through, or her ears wouldn't be swiveling every time someone spoke, or cringing back slightly at the familiar sound of head against doorframe.

As for how she's keeping the chair angled on it's back legs? Rather than be rude and put her feet up on the table, she's using Hopalong for a foot rest, spurs hooked in his antlers to keep herself in place.
William Pauwel Will has been gone for a while! He's been out travelling the multiverse on his motorcycle, only spending around three days in any given place before moving on, like some kind of mysterious traveller who deserves his own light novel series. Today, his never-ending journey through the mulitverse has brought him... Here.

To this meeting of the minds in a place full of horribly dangerous steam-powered doohickies that could explode at a moment's notice and kill them all in a violent explosion of red and blue mana.

"Oooh, this is an interestin' one," Will says as he ducks underneath a massive erlenmeyer flask filled with intertwining red-blue electricity. He grins like an idiot as he taps at the glass. "Woooeee, would you look at that stuff crackle!"
Rhapsody     Most of the folks surrounding the guildmaster start to wander off to get food and drink as more familiar faces start to filter into Dusk-17. A smile and a wave is given Ainsley as she orders as the guildmaster starts to take in the rest of the room. Iria gets a quizzical glance, "Ah, there wasn't any rush, Iria. Nothing bad is happening, for once! Just a little restructuring. Enjoy yourself, alright?

The resounding word echoes across the bar. A few people look Leyanne's way, but honestly? There's no hurt feelings. In a guild where explosions, and the remarks they cause, happen often, it's not the worst anyone has heard. This isn't someone Rhapsody is familiar with, but she does give the woman an 'are you okay?' look before the greeting is given. She seems fine. As Yuna slips in, greets, and moves for the bar, Rhapsody greets her in kind before making a suggestion. "Lots of teas and sodas too, Yuna. I'd rather not have my magewrights doing their science while drunk, you know?"

It's about this time that Rhapsody also catches sight of Corona. When did she sneak in anway? A few quick words are given to the barkeeper. The minotaur gives a gruff nod and sets to making... something. It'll be delivered to the Brimsteel native in a few moments. As her head turns, she can't help but smirk at Will's enthusiasm. "Promise, 99 percent chance anything in here won't explode. Emphasis on the 1 percent. Your milage may vary. Terms and conditions apply. Yadda yadda."

Thinking she's waited long enough, the guildmaster picks up her own drink (it's VERY blue) and taps on it a few times with a claw to get the room's attention. Likely she'll be saying whatever it is she needs to say in just a moment.
Iria After getting her drink, Iria sips a little. She doesn't do too much for the time being until the claw is tapped and Iria's gaze snaps forward. She knows it's nothing major, but Iria does want to hear what Rhapsody has to say in this matter.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace looks over at Will, a nasty mark across the bridge of her muzzle where it met the door-frame. "Probably not a good idea to poke it. Just 'cause it don't explode don't mean it won't put a few hundred volts up yer arse."

The mouse takes her tea like an engineer: A strong Assam-alike, with milk and three sugars. She nods approvingly when this is recognised, and the bartender somewhat theatrically stirs it with an adjustable spanner. She grasps the mug in her left hand and takes a sip, nodding approvingly.
She looks over the bar, waving to people she recognises. And she waves to the small fraction of extreme sports junkies who watch 'A Bad Idea', the Jackass-like show she occasionally stars in.

When Rhapsody taps the drink, she looks over at the guildmaster, ears and antennae perking to listen
Rhapsody     With everyone looking on, and more than a few reporters (inworld and off) ready to go, Rhapsody hops off the bar and gets on with the announcement.

"Ladies, gentlemen, and anything else present. I sent word out a few days ago that I had an announcement to make, and well, this is it. Pencils up, cameras on, and all that." There's a pause as she lets whoever needs just a moment more to setup, and then she begins. "Ever since the Mana Nexus incident, and the Multiversal Inversion that took place not long after, me and my family have been considering how the Izzet League will continue to operate. This isn't to say we are going to stop provind for the city of Ravnica, far from it. Both pacts declared us the utility operators of the city and this will not change. However, in a world far larger than just Ravnica itself, and after so many times we've received help from allies beyond our borders, we cannot simply hide within our own borders and think nothing will ever come knocking on our doors. To that end, there are now three divisions within the Izzet League. R&D, Personel, and the Explorers division."

There's a little buzz around the room, the guildmaster allows it for a few moments, then waves it down. R&D is exactly what it sounds like. Our continued devotion to our ... unique brand of research will continue. Personel will handle the continuing maitenance of all the utilites we provide as well as installation of new technologies as needed. The Explorers Division, however, is mine. The entire purpose of this part of the league is new, but still serves the purpose of helping those in Ravnica, and even beyond. We will search, both inside our city and outside of it, for anything that can improve the lives of everyone we know. We'll explore anyplace someone points us at and come back with the results. We will also be problem solvers. If something is going on out there in the world, and all the regular methods are failing, the Explorers division will be happy to come out and apply a little 'Izzet Ingenuity' to the problem to see if it can be taken care of. This division is also open to anyone that wants to join it. If you've wanted to be a official member of the Izzet? This is your way in. Citizen, denizen, guildless, or off-world.It doesn't matter. If you want to explore and make this world and others a better place? You're in."

More buzz. This time the Guildmaster gives it a few moments to see what the tone of the room is.
Corona Arclite A faint snort comes from beneath the hat, most likely at that 1%. There's always that one little margin of possible... Oh, is it finally time? An ear flicks at the clinking of glass, followed by a hand rising to tip the hat back out of Corona's face. " 'Bout time. Ah was startin' to wonder if yer tryin' to beat Miss C at how long it takes to start a meeting," she jokes.

For a moment she wonders where she set her flask down, but stops after a glance at the bar. She's been around saloons enough to know that look of someone mixing up something 'special' from the house.

But back to Rhapsody's talking. Well now, this is interesting. "Reckon the Guildmaster has found a bit of that frontier spirit to stir up."
Ainsley     Ainsley sips at her drink and knits her brow in vague disapproval of the idea, but the reason that would be clear when people remember that she's a Paladin. She lifts her hand and, when called upon, she promptly asks one question that the Izzet may, in fact, balk at. But she says it with a calm and professional attitude, a smile on her face. "What sort of considerations are being made in preserving the laws and regulations of the areas the division would operate in?" she asks, and immediately lowers her hand and tries not to make eye contact with any Izzet that might be giving her the 'who let an Azorius Senator in here' look.
Maya Maya has had very long time connections to Rhapsody's family and her guild so here she was it wasn't shocking to wsee Maya here. She wasn't even trying to stand out she was dressed like she's wanders off a 2000ish Earth and seemed faily relaxed, and honestly such an invite was very interesting to her even if she just jury rigged things, it was Grubb and Led who were the real magictech gearheads she knew and the Explorers did sound up her alley at least when she wasn't working as a Paladin.
Leyanne The giant Martian approves. She's giving a slow, approving nod at what she's hearing, sipping he tea cheerfully. Mars, her Mars, would not have survived without outside help, and the entire reason she's with the Watch is to repay the favour.

She nods to Corona. "Yeah. It's good to hear"
She looks over at Ainsley, thoughtfully. Might not be a fun question to ask, but... it's a good question to ask early.
Rhapsody     There's no doubt, at least one magewright just scoffs at the question, and a few looks are given. Rhapsody waves for calm, "Easy, easy, she's an ally and you all know it," she insists before looking to answer Ainsley's question. "More often than not, when embarking to other worlds, it's going to be at the suggestion or request from someone native with that world. We won't just go marching into a place with some kind of high energy reading to just steal something we want. This is about cooperation between worlds and helping both." Don't mind the fact she's Watch. Granted, that's not quite out in the open. Yet.
William Pauwel "Ehhhh, if the rules get in the way of helpin' people, then they ain't really that great as rules, are they?" Says the guy underneath the 1%-chance-to-explode glass vial. He seems to have turned around now, and is... monkeying around with something underneath a floor panel. Somewhere on the other side of the room, a pressure gauge slooowly begins to rise.

Then falls.

Hmm.
Yuna Kagurazaka From some of the things Yuna saw and heard over the course of the Mana Nexus incident - which she still thinks of in terms of Ijiwaru and Yunomi, by and large - the idea of a division that's open to EVERYBODY, no matter their roots or their origin, seems like a really good idea. Even if somebody doesn't quite have the talent needed for R&D or the patience to work in Personnel's repairs, maintenance, and whatnot, the Explorers division sounds like it'll be well-situated to do a lot of good - and give people a chance to make productive contributions, whatever their skillset.

So as Rhapsody finishes her presentation, Yuna smiles and raises her glass to the Guildmaster in a quiet toast. Quiet for now, at least. She'll probably start thinking of things to say again shortly.

Maybe some food would be a good idea while she's here - and she can think of more things to say while she's eating and listening in.
Ainsley     The answer was somewhat gray, but it was positive enough for Ainsley to nod in approval of at least that small amount of consideration. She smiles in apologetic manner at one of the grumpier magewrights and leans over to murmur to them that she has a personal investment in not having to butt heads with Rhapsody, since, as Rhapsody said, she's an ally. The lizard woman spares some time to mend raw moods, offering to buy drinks for people she made unhappy, and generally being a social butterfly in the absence of any further questions for the draconic guildmaster.
Corona Arclite "Seriously, it ain't like we're a buncha claimjumpers or somethin'." Not that Corona particularly cares about due process. That's the administrator's business to worry about. "Y'know Rhaps, iffen ya got some folks to spare, could prob'ly use some extra hands with the Expedition back home. Fit rawght in with all the math and rock nerds on the survey team. Get 'em some experience on the field before ya ship em out to less... familiar? Worlds."

Followed by a pause as the big bull of a barkeep trudges over to set the tall bubbling glass on the table. For a moment she just raises a brow at him, then shrugs and drops her heels off Hopalong's antlers to sit up proper. "Welp, it -looks- fancy. But ya don't judge a drink by it's foam." Holds up a hand before the minotaur can object. "Jus' be patient, Ah gotta get properly geared fer this."

Cue Corona taking a few moments to pull the goggles off her hat and over her eyes properly, followed by yoinking the reinforced work gloves from her toolbelt and making a slow, dramatic show of pulling them on and stretching out the fingers to fit snug.

What, it's an Izzet made drink. She's not taking any off chances that -it- might explode too.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace smirks and saunters over to Corona to watch this. She's already had Izzet-made engineer's tea, and to be fair it's got a nice punch to it, for tea. But this should be interesting...
Rhapsody     THE DRINK IS SERVED. That even draws Rhapsody's attention to Corona. The barkeep's timing was pretty perfect seeing as Corona had started mentioning her home. "I could do that, sure. Been a bit busy since I heard what was going on out that way. If I have some hands to spare I can send them your way, sure." Then that helluva-drink is set down. "Heh. I like your spirit in response to what you're about to have." Rhapsody's grin is far to mischevious right now to be called anything else. "Enjoy~" Then back to the room. "If there's no other questions, feel free to mingle, and enjoy Dusk-17. IN a minor, secondary announcement, the place is now open to the public as well! You can take the Warp Gate to the one outside the spires. To get here, there's a few Hypersonic Drakes right by the gate that can bring you straight to the span so you can come on in."

Did she say -Hypersonic Drakes-? Yes. Yes she did.
Iria Iria listens intently to what is said, nodding a little, but saying nothing else. She understands what's been said, and is now enjoying her drink again. She stretches her arms over her head briefly, but other than that seems slightly inactive.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace looks over at Rhapsody, not wanting to detract too much from the show of the drink. She waits to ask her important question; instead the 8ft mouse settles for "...so what was that drink called?"
William Pauwel "Sssssoooooooooooooooooo~" Will drones as he slips out from under his temporary crawlspace home. He has... A power conduit in either hand. "Two questions! Firstly, what's with the weird lightning in that there bottle? SECOND!" Will waves the PROBABLY VERY LIVE wires. At least he has gloves on. "What do these cables do? They were just kind of disconnected down there."
Maya Maya is just haning out in the crowd for the moment she knows there's anumber of things going on here a large number of people just milling about but she seems to be piocking out a few people here such as Will against all odds of the law of Murphy is thankfully still alive. The Blue hairewd woman strots otu to mingle a little bit more nad maybe get a chanc eo tal to Rhaps directly
Corona Arclite In response to Rhapsody? Corona just smirks a little. "No offense, but Ah've seen what happens when chemists moonlight as mixologists. Considerin' all the alchemists and such ya got 'round here." Gives the glove one last tug. "Course all that just makes it -interestin'-, but safety counts."

Pause.

"Sometimes."

Corona grabs the still glass of still bubbling brew with one hand and holds it up. "Here's to yer new endeavour, Izzets. Bottoms up!" Literally. Oh no, there is no pause, no ginger test sip. Corona just goes full bore chugging the entire thing down, foam and all. See, there is a bit of foam splashing over the lip. The goggles were totally justified! Look at her go though.

And then the empty glass is thumped back on the table. Corona licked her muzzle to get some of the lingering foam. "Huh. Good zing to the taste, a bit cool -and- spicy, but a li'l tamer than I was expectin--" Stop. Twitch. Followed by a surprisingly strong belch for her modest size, with what almost looks like actual steam fuming from her mouth briefly.

After which Corona slumps back into her chair. "Ne'ermind, there's the good part."
Rhapsody     With Will calling out, Rhapsody turns toward him, "Mana magic, red most likely, contained in the form of lightning inside. Literally lightning in a bottle. Haven't quite got flash in the pan down yet but they try it in the kitchen a lot. It hasn't gone well most times they try.

Seeing the wires, Rhapsody somehow pales despite her white hide. "Ah, haha, yeah, about that," she stammers before whistling. A large creature, made of water but with a clearly boiling core in the center, wanders out of one corner, hand out, waiting to take said wires. "Those shouldn't be loose. Let the Steamcore put'em back, please."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace is about to ask questions when Rhapsody summons the maintenance-water-dude. She stays quiet until the situation is under control, and then she tries to get Rhapsody's attention again. "So... about that... really big tower. How would someone get to the top? I mean the very top."
William Pauwel "Oh." Will blinks and hands the two leads off to the strange, gooey construct. "Yeah, I hate when that happens. Sometimes machines seem to have lives all of their own. I mean, the alternative is gremlins, and everyone knows those ain't a real thing." Except on Ravnica, where they are regularly employed by both the Gruul and the Rakdos, but Will certainly doesn't know that. "Never heard of mana, though. But that's not exactly my wheelhouse, either."

"So! Y'all are thinking of... What, setting up outposts different places and distributin' technology? Do y'all have any examples of the kind of stuff y'all will bring to communities?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite just laughs loudly when Will says gremlins aren't a real thing. For some reason. Might be the huge drink of who-knows-what she just chugged. Or she knows something.
Rhapsody     "Not so much setting up places, Will. Just cooperation with issues that arise and exploring places that are well enough off the map that no one is going to be concerned about it. If places seem interested in what the Izzet have to offer, and we see something interesting that they have, trades are entirely possible." The steamcore gives will a nod and moves to place the cables where they belong. "Water, Fire, and a bit of mana is what lets that Weird there keep going. Kind of like a golem, if you know what they are," she informs before looking toward Leyanne. "Oh! You're Leyanne, right? Getting upstairs is easy. The Nivix Aerie is basically me and my family's quarters. The central elevator, the -really big one- that could fit a full size dragon? It goes straight up there."
Rhapsody     Suddenly, the guildmaster remembers another question, "The drink is called, literally, a Helluva-Drink." A glance is given Corona. "She hasn't gotten to the Helluva part juuust yet. It kinda varies.."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace listens to Rhapsody explaining how things work to Will, understanding very little beyond 'it's not like the engineering you know'.

When Rhapsody talks to her, she smiles. "Yep, please, call me Tiny." What else do you call the 8ft mouse? She grins, offering her hand. "Sweet, and nobody'll complain if I climb out onto the roof?"
Pause
"Oh, she hasn't? Interesting... is it something like giving you Johny Cash syndrome in the morning?"
Rebound "Don't tell me you're going to try jumping off of something really tall again." That would be the voice of Rebound, who has somehow managed to not be spotted this whole time despite her size and general boisterousness. She slaps Leyanne on the back and then smiles at Rhapsody, "Nice party so far."
Rhapsody     The dragon just smirks, "Nah, not that long. Just wait a few more minutes," she says before hearing a familiar voice coming in. "When the heck did you sneak in? Glad you could make it, Rebound. Drinks and food are on the house so get to it, okay?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace snorts to Rebound. "I'm not going to just /try/ Rebound, I'm gonna. I've got a go-drone and some cameras in my bag, gonna send it in to the Bad Idea team and see if I can get back on TV"
She smiles, turning to face her friend. "Good to see you again, Rebound"
Corona Arclite A brow is raised behind goggles. "... Fitting name..." Corona pulls the goggles back off. "Dunno, that had a kick. Sure it ain't the 'helluva' part ye--"

She's interrupted by, well, the sound of poofing is really hard to describe other than 'the sound of poofing'. But that's what can be heard as the fox's tail goes entirely puffball. To the point it's almost thicker in fluff than the table is wide. "... Okay, that's gonna be a literal pain in the butt to keep outta machinery until it wears off."
Rhapsody     A grin is sent Corona's way. "That's a pretty low key effect, but again, varies a lot."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs at the effects on Corona, nodding "Oh, yeah totally. I'm glad I'll never have that problem!" She swishes her long, prehensile (and hairless) tail gleefully
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite glances back over her shoulder a moment. "Well, t'be fair, ya don't have a lot of 'fuzzy' folk around... and the one we all know ain't allowed to drink. So pro'ly still surprising." Hopalong emits a clicking sound that might be the optics rolling in their sockets. Corona swats down the tail a few times and settles back into her chair. "So, what's this 'bout jumpin off tall buildin's in a single bound?"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace grins "You know the big tower here?" She hefts up her duffel bag. "I got my parachute and some camera gear in here. I'm going to jump off the huge tower here that I have totally forgotten the name of..."
Rhapsody     "Nivix," Rhapsody adds helpfully. "If you go out the front door of here.." the guildmaster pauses, thinks about it, then shakes her head, "No no, I have something easier." The dragon takes a moment to tap at her radio, then a little silver orb of a drone flutters into the room. "This is one of our security drones. Just follow it and it'll show you upstairs and through the sky entrance. That is as tippy top as you can get. From up there, I suggest hopping down the side that has the bridge from this spire, Nivix, to the bluish one over yonder, Thirix. This way everyone can see!" Then to the room, "Anyone that wants to see 'Tiny' here do a base jump from the top of Nivix, which is about six kilometers tall, head out onto the span!"
Leyanne Leyanne Mace laughs "Oh I'm not going just yet, guys, I wanna socialize a bit first." She grins, listening into the explaination of where is best to dive from. She makes notes, chuckling. "Maybe an hour or so, I need to catch back up with some people y'know?"
Rebound Rebound grins at Corona as she watches that tail fluff up, before she practically vanishes again, appearing next to the food table. She's been hanging out with a ninja fox, she's bound to pick up some tricks, even if it's not her normal style. Once she has a plate full of food and a drink, she hops back over to Corona, "You gonna be okay there, fuzz butt?"
Rhapsody     Sure sure, no problem. The span has railings and it -can- be shielded cause sometimes the wind is pretty high across the span, so, folks can mingle in here or out there! Drinks and food are still on the house aaaaand," she points over toward one of the walls at an amalgamation of clockwork but there are a bunch of menus near the bottom, "That is a jukebox."
Maya Maya is going to make her way towards Rhapsody and try to catch up with her friend. "Hey Rhapsody! Id you have a moment I'm curious about the explorder's guild that has my interest if my being a paladin isn't an issue. It sounds like s0omething to do good with my downtime and keep me off of Septerra as well."
Rhapsody     With Maya making an appearence, the guildmaster brightens, "Maya!" she actually gives the woman a hug before continuing. "Always have time for you, like my other friends. If you want in, you're in, no questions asked. Being a paladin is no issue, either. You and Ainsley both could join if you like."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite swats at the over-fluffed tail again. "Yeah, once it wears off." Or she has to shave it down if it doesn't. Either way. "Just don't wanna get too close to any big machines with it.... Granted, that's a danger of havin' a tail in general." Tiny can probably related, with hers being long and skinny and all.
Leyanne Leyanne Mace nods in agreement "Mmmh, tell me about it. Until I was like six or seven I was forever getting it caught in doors." She chuckles in agreement. "Still, they got their uses. I can hold tools in it, for example"
Maya Maya hugs Rhapsody back it's good to see her.

"Its good to see you too." She'll wait till the bug uis done before she contiunes. "If that's the case consider me signed up. I been needing something to do that isn't on my home. Due to poltical entaglements there." She makes a face, and doesn't even bring up the other issues. "So if there's paper work please send it my way so I can get that evil over with quickly."
Leyanne Leyanne Mace looks thoughtfully at Rhapsody. "How quick do you think it would be to get back here after landing?" She asks, looking thoughtfully at the span to the other tower. She's feeling the need... not the need to jump, but the need for those few seconds of pure, absolute solitude that can only be found in those places. Her tail lashes behind her, agitatedly
Rhapsody     A pondering moment, then, "Well, you can come in through the front door, or take one of the hypersonics back up. If you do that? Not very long at all.
Maya Maya says "syre then lets get to it my friend and maybe catch up a bit more. Did you hear some of the children I raised are considering getting married? Now? I'm starting to feel old."
Rhapsody "Married? Seriously, that's gotta be a hell of a thing for you, yeah?" The dragon takes a moment to tap a few things into her radio, "I'll see about getting you a few Explorers badges and when things come up, you'll be the first to know, Maya. .. Well, you and anyone else in the division."
Maya Maya laughs for a moment "Well yes they are in their twenties now. Uncle has the house all to himself but ... yes. It's funny a few of them almost consider me mother in a way it's strange is it not?"
Rhapsody Rhapsody nods to Maya, "Oh, no doubt. I really can't imagine it, Maya. There's plenty of magewrights that find people they love. Spending a lot of time in the labs and exploding things together ends up leading somewhere. Children though? I got nothing to relate to that.."
Maya Maya says "Someday you might, but you have a long life ahead of you I'd not worry about it too much. For me I was the eldest of the suriving children and helped the man who took many of us in. It just kind of happened there. Though Fates Tori is trouble still even as a man. Did I ever tell you how he's the cause I fell into the heratic war?"
Rhapsody Rhapsody blinks, "N-no. you didn't," she replies, not really going in on her lifespan. Yeah. She's very aware of -that-.
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite meanders back over after having gone to the bar for a slightly less 'helluva' drink and some munchies. Her tail is currently a massive ball of fluffiness instead of just foxy. "What are we talkin' 'bout now?"
Maya Maya says "Oh he was weapon smuggling and bolted when I caught him. I took the heat and had to go on the run, and then it snowballed into the Legacy of the Creator, and the remants of the war in heaven." She shakes her head. "It's strange how that goes. I could have almost anything I wanted on Septerra but here I am..."
Yunomi Stadler     DID SOMEONE MENTION MARRIAGE AND LOVE AND CHILDREN?

It just so happens then that hte doors to 17-Dusk SLAM open! There's a figure, covered in a long cloak, head-to-toe with dust and ash, electric sparks clinging to the outer rim of a pair of goggles. Boots thump against the floor, wearily, as the figure stalks into the room. You could almost feel the air charge with energy, maybe even with a bit of fear--

If it wasn't for the fact that the figure's dimunitive 5'1 height didn't lend itself to impressiveness or fear. A pair of gloved hands reach up, pulling back the fabric covering her face, and the sooty, grimy appearance of one Yunomi Stadler appears, and she shakes out a bit of the cloth, her ears perking up and tail shifting beneath the cloak.

    "Ugh. What a rough assignment."
Rhapsody     "Here you are. Better for it, I bet, in someway, right?" The dragon claps a hand on Maya's shoulder. "You're always welcome here. Once an ally here, always an ally here."

And then the doors get blown open! The whole room turns to the open doors, the room silent as the entrant stomps toward the bar. Fear? Maybe. Rhapsody? Grinning like an idiot cause she knows who that is. "Yuuunoooomiiiii~" Of course the barkeep is right there to take whatever order is given basicall right away. "You alright?"
Corona Arclite There's a pause just before the doors burst open where Corona lifts her nose to the air for a moment. "Anyone else smell burnt ash?" Cue the door burst and the grungy cloak clad tanuki stomping in. "Oh good, it ain't just me. Looks like one of my rougher days on the job though." And goes back to her drink. Hey, this sort of thing was normal to her even before she got involved with the Izzets.
Yunomi Stadler     "Rhaps~" Yunomi begins, and then straightens slightly, clearing her throat and adds on "Guildmaster." but there's a very warm smile behind it. She walks over to the grouping, giving a wave to the barkeep friendly-like as she unclips the heavy robe and throws it over the back of the seat, wearing a more peasenty-looking shirt, some light armoring in brass and leather, and bright red and blue pants. She plops down near the guildmaster, and gives a shy grin over to Corona and Maya. "Sorry if I'm interrupting. And yes, long day. One of thee repair teams in the Azor sector came across a gas vent that wasn't properly capped. Went a little awry."
Rhapsody     With her back to the bar, Rhapsody settles against it, arms atop the counter, as she listens to all the goings on, most of her focus on the tanuki at the moment. "Ugh, I forgot they found that little issue. Hope it didn't go toooo rough? I announced the changes in the Izzet a bit earlier. Probably be on the news sometime tonight, tomorrow, and in all Orzhova rags tomorrow morning.." (It's like my second or third pose into the scene. Can fetch if needed)
Corona Arclite "Open gas line. Never a good thing," Corona murmured from her drink glass. "Especially with all the poss'bly flammable red mana some of y'all have 'round here."
Yunomi Stadler     "Eh? About the divisions that I'm totally going to be exempt from?" Yunomi pauses, giving a wry little grin as she takes off ehr goggles (showing the one clear area of her skin was directly behind them, everythign else is a little soot covered), she purses her lips and raises her eyebrows, dark eyes settling on Rhapsody with curiosity. "And yeah, the gas line was not good, especially when you have a curious goblin with just a little bit of a pyro side going." Yunomi gives an uneasy smile, and then covers her face. "Uugh. How'd the reveal go? Hopefully everyone's on board?"
Rhapsody     "Yep, that's the one. The one you are totally immune to because you're the one and only member of the Nexus Division which includes taking care of it, Vines, and anything else you deem appropriate." Grin. Her own head tilts at the uugh, "Well, you're in one piece? The reveal went fine. Lots of people are interested and on board. Ainsley was a little worried about us being kosher to local laws and such for worlds we visit, but other then that, no major issues."
Corona Arclite "To be fair," Corona comments offhandedly, "That's kinda her job to worry 'bout that sorta thing.... and kinda somethin' we don't worry much back home. The law of the frontier is what ya make it. Even some Rangers will tell ya that, cuz they can't be everywhere at once. Ya protect what's important -to you-, the stuffy pol'ticals in the capital be damned."
Rebound Where has Rebound been this whole time? Probably wandered off to have some kind of crazy adventure she'll never tell anybody about. Soon enough though she's back in the party, back at the food table, scooping up several handfuls of food, "Hey Corona." She slides up to the vulpine woman, "So I've been meaning to ask you, this mountain of your's we've been tackling, why do so many people want it? I mean I know it's got a lot of gold and jewels or resources inside, but there's gotta be something else."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite glances over her shoulder when Rebound speaks up. "S'ppose to be choke full of pulsarium too. Enough to ionize the air 'round it, that's why it's always got storms 'round the peak that give Thundersmack it's name. Y'all seen what those crystals can do when -controlled-. It's much more dangerous unrefined, lemme tell ya. Before better minin' operations were developed those mines had a bigger chance of blown up than the labs b'low us do, and that's sayin' something." She rolls her shoulders in a shrug. "Part of why it was mostly abandoned when the deposits in Rocksfall were originally found."

Another pause. "Not to mention it's pro'ly haunted and stuff by this point."
Yunomi Stadler     "Ooh, do I get an exclusive division patch? Can I design it?" Yunomi inquires cheerily, and she glances up at Corona a,d gives a little smile, giving a small wave of 'yeah, that's fair', and then perks up when Rebound arrives. Her own food arrives -- a big pile of something that looks like a cross between a pizza, a taco, and a salad bar, and she digs right in.
Rhapsody     "I'm starting to think I should really visit Brimsteel sometime. It really sounds like my kinda place," Rhapsody muses, giving Rebound's return a wave before glancing back at Yunomi whom is going to make sure she is utterly full of food tonight. "Ah, sure. Dive right in! It's your division, you get to make with the division-y things for it!"
Maya Maya grins at Yuomni for a moment "Hey it's good to see you Yunomi, alive and well. Oh geeze that must have been a bit of a mess with that did it get cleaned up all right?"

She leans back now seeking out a drink to get orders but not the special. No we do not need a drunken Maya, god help you all she'd go on about her /EX/ and no one wants that espically Maya. "That's true Corona, and hey hows brimsteel doing."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi pauses, getting a sort of startled look on her face, tacopizzasaladbarpalaoozza half way to her mouth as she looks to Maya, and replies, unsure: "Ah, I've been alive and..." and she trails off. She gives a slight smile, and leans back in her chair, "well, it has been a while, hasn't it?" she ventures. "The Nexus is near fully operational and maintaining steadily, for now, at seventy percent. It's enough to power the sector, and then some. My work's pretty important... not that I wouldn't mind tagging along on some Exploration Division outings, mind you... but I suppose I'm a little tied to Ravnica, for the present."
Corona Arclite "Eh. Bandits, undead outlaws, underhanded industrial rejects... the usual in tamin' the frontier." Corona is almost a little too casual with the answer. Before ambling away from the gathering to restock herself a drink and some chow.
Rhapsody     "Anyway, yeah, things went well, everyone had a good time, all of the food in Dusk-17 tonight is free, it's been a good night over all. Not even one explosion! Though a few cables came loose and Will nearly electricuted himself when he showed them to me. Had a steamcore take care of it. . . Pretty glad they don't leave any water behind. Corona had A Helluva Drink. Only poofed her tail out, but those after effects are really variable. I mean, I think when the barkeeper had his first one his horns exploded? I dun-

    Something explodes in the kitchen.

"Ugh. GUYS. ARE YOU TRYING TO GET A FLASH IN THE PAN AGAIN?" Sigh. Honestly, will finding that lightning in a bottle over there was fine.. I told him they keep trying that in the back but well.. that's the typical result.."
Yunomi Stadler     "Lightning in a bottle? It hought we axed that idea after it *almost* made me drunk?" Yunomi gvies a wry smile, leaning just a little bit up against hte much taller Rhapsody. Potentially getting soot on the Guildmaster. Bad tanuki.
Rhapsody     If she does, the taller dragon doesn't seem to really mind, "Your nachos are gonna get cold," she muses before pointing over at the item Will was poking at earlier. "Well, I called it that. Maybe I got it mixed up with that other thing. Lots of things! Some of them probably share names 'til they pass my desk."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi laughs. "Yeah, yeah, cold nachos of doom, very sad. I might even have to take them up to my room and bemoan my cold nachos." Yunomi smiles, nomfing down on some of them as she looks around, and takes a deep breath.

"... it's weird to think how much has changed, isn't it?"
Rhapsody     Then, the horror comes. The guildmaster dares to steal a single nacho and chomp down on it before anything can be said, "Oh no! So cold! AAAAAH," Bleh! mock pain, dramatic slump against the barcounter... then back to normal with a snicker, "A lot, yeah, but for the better, I think."
Yunomi Stadler     "Alas, my girlfriend, killed by a cold nacho." Yunomi nomfs another nacho. "I wonder if Lavinia's too busy arresting people..." she ventures playfully, keeping her joke quiet fromt he surrounding groups as Rhapsody revives, and glances out over the others.

"I'm not sure. It feels weird. I'm... pretty much as high as I will ever be able to go in the Izzet." she rubs the back of her head. "Not that I question any descision sent to us, but... it feels weird, Rhaps. Not having the Union around. Not having the connection I used to."
Rhapsody     "It's really weird. I mean... our 'new' allies are fine, I just wonder how some others would react about it, you know? All we can do is our best. It's why I made the Explorers Division. Lets us get out there and actually try to help proactively instead of reactively. Even if we're getting called up to do crazy things with Izzet super science or something. Union's gone, but our friends are still around. We can at least lean on that."
Yunomi Stadler     "You might be able to. I don 't know if I can." Yunomi counters quietly, bringing her feet up to rest on the seat beside her as she oh-so-casually leans against RHapsody. Almost too familiar for the setting, some might stare. Yunomi purses her lips quietly as she looks atound 17-Dusk, the groups around them allies. She reaches up and scratches, idly, at the back of her neck as she watches everyone around them. "I'm glad that everyone approves of the divisions, though I might hand-pick some to work on the Nexus from R&D and the utility maintenence group."
Rhapsody     "Well, lean on me then. I'd hope that's worth something," the dragon suggests, idly enjoying the moment. "Ah, yeah, sure. If you want a few extra hands with the Nexus or the Mana Vine network then go for it. I'd rather not see your hands all burned up or sore again from all the work before."
Yunomi Stadler     "I *knew* the gloves were a great investment." Yunomi jokes, still leaning against Rhapsody as she tilts her head back a moment, looking up at the dragon with a bit of a grin on her face. "I'll send along a short list pending acceptance and your approval."
Rhapsody     "Sounds like a plan," a grin, a nod, and then? A bit of a held back yawn, "Mn. Guh. It got late really fast. Oooookay..." Streeetch. "Alright everyone, last call, and I think I'm going to retire for the night. I hope everyone had a good night, long or short. Remember, 17's open to everyone, so no need to be a stranger." Then back to Yunomi. "Gonna stick around or get some shut-eye?"
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi considers a moment, and then plucks up her platter of deliciousness on an everything possible.
"Well, should probably work on the short list and stop by the forge." she gives a wry grin. "Have yourself a good night, Rhaps."
Rhapsody     Careless to the rest of the room, the dragon gives Yunomi a good snug before hopping off her chair, "You too, Yunomi. And that goes for the rest of you! Everyone have a good night, and thanks for stopping by."
