Scene #5460: Final Preperations

Tomoyo Daidouji	There is a meeting at Tomoyo's Boutique. The cozy little store has all its curtains and blinds closed, and the door is locked until someone knocks on it to be let in. At which point, Tomoyo herself opens it up and guides them in. She's set up a small table with a teapot, some cups, and home-made biscuits. "Thank you all for coming~" she says softly once everyone has arrived. She looks a bit frazzled and sleep deprived. Even her clothes have regressed in appearance, now down to a simple white top and jeans. "I apologize for the radio silence regarding... well, everything. Rest assured, I've been doing my best to resolve matters after the concert." She starts fixing herself a cup of tea, before looking around. "Before we get into matters, how are you all? Have you had any... thoughts? Not just in how to proceed but just... handling everything?" ================================================================================There is a meeting in an abandoned tunnel. The splinter group that broke off from the Taint is living it up. Cheap beer flows like water, and from the stink it seems like it's been that way since the bombing. They're making all the noise in the world. Because they're under the now-virtually lawless Market District, who's going to stop them? D-BASE climbs up onto a pile of wooden pallets stacked to form a makeshift stage and bellows to the revellers. "All right, listen up assholes, serious business! We got all our guys here, time to go over the last bit of our plan!" He looks around, smirking cockily before adding, "Yeah that's right! We're gonna get that byte bitch OMNI once and for all! How you pricks feel about that?!" A big whoop comes from the crowd, but he's looking at his Multiversal allies especially.
Yang Xiao Long	Yang knocks at Tomoyo's door, and slips in, carrying a tote bag. "All I aim to do is cave that D-BASE guys face in..." she growls in response. Her eyes briefly flashing red between blinks, though she doesn't go any further. The blonde is in a pretty sour mood all told with the situation.
Reina Kinney	Reina knocks at the door not long after Yang arrives, and she's let in as well. Upon entering, Reina simply shakes her head and folds her arms. "All that matters is taking out D-BASE, honestly." Her tone lacks sarcasm, but indicates she's a bit on the impatient side today. Then again, when Reina's eager to get on with an assignment, she usually is like that.
Mamimi Samejima	There isn't a cheer from one of D-BASE's gang, but they agree with it all the same. Get that byte bitch? Yeah. She deserves it. Probably. The woman raises her hoodie for a moment, petting the weird block with ears in her lap. "Right Ta-kun? I think she might deserve it." That's about all that is said from her, mostly to herself. She hasn't really been drinking, though.
August Kohler	IN THE TUNNEL: Among those in the the crowd in the tunnel is August Kohler, His hood is down, as he stands a bit to the side away from the locals. He's not drinking, that's not for business, but as the cheers go out, August throws his fist to the sky. It's as much of a gesture as you'll get out of him - loud shouting in a situation like this isn't his thing, as he looks up to D-Base. "I'm still with you here, D-BASE. Lay it on us." There's a glance to Mamimi, and to the weird...thing in her lap. From what he's seen of this world, she's likely not local, so he keeps his eyes on her for a few moments, trying to size her up, before looking back to D-BASE. "We're going to end this."
Sanary Rondel	Sanary steps into the boutique, donned in her usual white coat + yellow shirt combo, looking about as wary as usual since the last few times there's been news involving OMNI and D-BASE. The healer has what looks like a contrabass case with her, but it's fairly obvious that whatever's in there is not a giant bass at all. It's her axe. It wouldn't look right to just walk through the streets with that thing out in the open, after all! Spotting a couple of familiar faces, the healer raises her hand in a stiff wave towards Tomoyo, Yang, and Reina. "I got no objections to that. If you need us to go any further, then... I'll handle that." She looks towards Yang and Reina in particular, then back at Tomoyo with a more puzzled look. "But... Er. What /is/ our plan, anyway?"
Deelel	Deelel has long considerd August out for nothing but blood given the powers that be had been willing for a dialog to reassess things. She had thrown her lot in with Tomoyo on this. Yang would find the program joining with her and she looks to her nodding. "They are glitched in the head. Or just want to see the world bun. So Tomoyo I'm in, what do you need of me my abilities are at your disposal."
Tomoyo Daidouji	Tomoyo winces a little when everyone immediately speaks of dealing with D-BASE. "I know he is... not very nice, but don't let him sidetrack you from our goal. We want to convince OMNI to lift the ban on art, remember?" She looks at everyone individually. "Don't let him sidetrack you. If he gets in our way again, we'll stop him. If not, leave him to the police, okay?" She stands up, and begins pacing the room, nodding to Sanary. "I think I now have a way of doing just that though~ I've been speaking with some members of parliament, and I've secured everything we need." The tailor smiles softly and says, "We're going to inspire the people to reject OMNI's rule and come together in peaceful protest, using what we started with the concert." ================================================================================ D-BASE looks around at his people, smirking and nodding. He points to August and nods. "I know you are! To the end, right?" He also stares long and hard at Mamimi. "Some fresh blood too! Great, we need all the help we can get with this last stretch." He paces on his little stage, the stack always near-tipping. "So here's the thing. We didn't cut OMNI out of these parts randomly. We did it so that there are no eyes on what we do next. My pa used to do maintenance on that bloody thing, and he told me about an old tunnel he used to take to do it. It's closed off now, but it's a straight shot to the main server."
Yang Xiao Long	"Okay, cool... but that'll just give the anarchists another distraction while OMNI watches our protest." says Yang. "Do we have any idea what they're planning? Like, at all? I mean, he used our concert to distract the security force from his last strike, what'd be different this time?"
Mamimi Samejima	The blood isn't quite as fresh, but Mamimi, of all people, doesn't speak up. Her head bobs up and down as she glances to August and then back to D-BASE, listening to him. Oh. Like in that one show, wasn't it? It was a movie. Akira. She knew dumb things, but that just made Mamimi Mamimi. "Ta-kun, you better not get lost in the tunnel, okay?"
Reina Kinney	"So we want to protest peacefully, hm?" Reina nods a little. "I'm hoping that we can do this without any violent oppression. In the event that does happen, I am ready to protect those who may need it." The red-head narrows her eyes a little. "Let's just hope we don't have to..."
Deelel	Deelel says "I saw madness like this when I was a far younger program it lead to a genocidal purge of programs called ISOs who had no inate function. Also no one is thinking about the colteral that would happen If OMNI was taken out. Omni does not /force/ people to day. IT is not CLU, regradless I am with you Tomoyo and I'll follow you."
Sanary Rondel	Yeah, I getcha. Whatever we're gonna do, we'lll have to keep an eye out for him trying something else again." Sanary nods confidently, then pauses and looks over at Yang once she brings up a relevant point. ".. Hmm. You got any contacts that might know what he's up to? I probably ain't the inspiring type, so I can at least focus on that and keeping people covered.." She says with a laugh, reaching up briefly to fiddle with her eyepatch. "... Also, what's peaceful protest?" Is it really a foreign concept to the healer? She doesn't look like she's joking.
August Kohler	IN THE TUNNEL: "To the end." August replies, affirmatively. It's an oath, pretty much. As the plan is laid out, August glances at Mamimi again with a squint as she continues to...talk to the cube, and then back to D-BASE. He takes a moment to think it over, before nodding. "Clever. So we have a direct route, if we break through it. How closed off? Wood? Concrete? Steel? We'll probably need to blow through it, I'm guessing." A pause. "What's the plan when we actually reach OMNI? Obviously we're killing him, but how? And what's the plan for the inevitable opposition? If we have to blow through the wall, security will be sounded pretty much immediately."
Tomoyo Daidouji	Tomoyo smiles at Yang. "Well... I'm afraid I don't know what their plan is. But I think they will find it very hard to interfere with ours, because we'll be doing it from the heart of OMNI." She next looks to Reina and shakes her head. "Oh no, we won't be doing the protest. The people will-the general population, not the malcontents that rally behind D-BASE. As it should be." She begins to explain properly. "I've found a counciler who would be willing to use her access to let us down to OMNI's core. From there, not only can we entreat the AI directly, we can use its network for our purposes. Spread our message, and inspire the people into song." She holds up one of the pamphlets from the concert. On the back is a song with simply lyrics she was intending to have the crowd sing, but D-BASE interrupted things. ================================================================================ Neither August nor D-BASE seem to know what to do with Mamimi. Even those near her, drunk out of their minds, seem to be edging away now. However, the leader will not be dissuaded from his speech. He points to August and says, "We got some homemade napalm that'll do the job! A for the cops... honestly, I don't care much about escaping. Once we take out OMNI, we win. What happens after that doesn't matter." The crowd begins to mutter angrily at that. No one likes facing consequence, after all. "Hey, hey! If you don't like it, come up with your own escape plan, or go shack up with that Tomoyo chick and her lot!"
Yang Xiao Long	Yang looks at Sanary. "I could always ask Kohler super nicely." she says with a very sardonic undertone to her voice. "He's been a /great/ help with all this." The blonde plunks her bag down, pulling out a weapon maintenance kit, and setting it out on a table. "Hope you don't mind if I do some maintenance on Ember Celica while we talk, Tomoyo? Been putting it off for a couple of days." She's already taking the bracelets off, but doesn't unfold the kit until given the go-ahead.
Mamimi Samejima	POIK. A hand shoots into the air on the words 'homemade' and 'napalm'. "Oh! Give me some! Cantido-sama would be grateful with all the offerings." She remarks, hand staying upwards. "It'll be okay after that, because Cantido-sama wouldn't let anything bad happen once things are burning." Or so she claims. Eyes shimmer with the same intensity of fire despite the woman otherwise completely uninterested.
Sanary Rondel	"... Huh. That sounds pretty straightforward, then." Sanary blinks slowly, looking rather impressed. "You sure we can trust her, though? I mean, I've worked with OMNI's security before, but if one of them told me they'd let me right in to shut down OMNI... I dunno." A pause, and then she chuckles lightly while looking from Tomoyo to Yang with a thoughtful expression. "... Well, why not? Doubt he'll tell us anything if he's still working with that guy, but it could be worth a shot."
Reina Kinney	Again nodding, Reina says, "Well, that should be a relief. Still, let's just hope things don't get out of hand. After what D-BASE has done before, I don't want to think about any possible things going wrong." She winces a little as she gets a mental berating from Laia about preparations. "Well, we'll just see. But I'm sure it'll be fine, OK?" She forces a grin.
August Kohler	Mamimi's words finally get August to respond, because she seems downright unstable. "Who the hell are you talking about? Actually, who are you? I've never seen you before." He inches away, turning towards D-BASE, and then the crowd as they seem unsure about not having an escape plan. He can respect D-BASE's enthusiasm to get the job done - which also proves to him that D-BASE is authentic about this, and speaks up. "This area doesn't have active security, so you'll escape the same way you came. I'll make a diversion and hold off the cops once the job is done. Are there other paths through these tunnels? You'll likely want to split up among them in case of pursuit. Traps may be useful as well." August begins mental checklisting. "Bear traps, maybe pipebombs? I'll contact A2 to assist with the assault as well, she's the android from the first one. We can trust her." A glance to everyone, from August. "Don't worry. I'll make sure as many of you as I can get out of there alive."
Deelel	Deelel says "Good thinking Tomoyo." She looks to Yang for a moment then to Tomoyo and finally to Sanary. "Given my function I should be able ot help with that if Omni will allow mew some level of access. I'm ready to go and don't worry I have my normal musical rig ready."
Mamimi Samejima	Mamimi shuts up afterwards, because when called out, only bad things happen when you speak.
Tomoyo Daidouji	Tomoyo smiles thankfully as everyone seems to like her plan. Looking to Yang, she nods. "I don't mind~" Next, she looks to Sanary and adds, "They're... an ally, under a different name. Don't worry. If I felt they were untrustworthy, I wouldn't be doing this." She also looks to Reina and nods sadly. "I would hope that, if the rebels see that the public are willing to protest, they'll settle down. But... I doubt it. It may come to you all to fight them. So you may get your chances to hit D-BASE after all." She tries to look pleasant and sound sing-songy about that, like usual, but she can't bring herself to. ================================================================================ D-BASE looks to August. "Hey now, get off her case! I like a girl who likes burning stuff, even if she is a nut. Don't you worry, we'll make sure you get some," he says to Mamimi. The growing rabble seems to settle once August volunteers to run interference on the police. "There, see? I wouldn't let you all down." They also seem very pleased about the idea of A2 coming again. Considering the carnage she caused last time, the more bloodthirsty would love the chance to see her again.
Yang Xiao Long	Yang nods a bit, then unrolls the kit, taking tools and a little bottle of oil, and a large sheet that she lays everything out on so as not to get oil on Tomoyo's table. Ember Celica is then unfolded, and she begins working, undoing each part and setting them out, ready to check, calibrate and oil... She's largely silent, save for a soft. "Kinda bad of me wishing he does show up, now."
Sanary Rondel	""Fair enough. Well, worst case scenario..." Sanary trails off while rubbing her chin lightly, then raises her contrabass case. A quick glance back at the door, and then she stage-whispers. "... I put my axe in here. Clever, huh?" She sounds a bit too proud about that for some reason. "I'm guessin' that means we need to make sure not to go too far, then. I mean, accidents happen and all, but..." She flexes briefly and pats her arm, the patting hand emitting a faint green light after a moment. "Well, that's what I'm around for. Gotta show OMNI, whoever's on the payroll, and whoever's left that you guys ain't monsters about all this, right?"
Reina Kinney	"Well if that happens," Reina says as she clenches a fist, "I'll be ready for them!" She nods her head. "Let's get ready to go then." She looks to Yang and nods a little as well. "Yeah, I don't want him to show up personally, so that is kinda bad." She closes her eyes for a moment. "We'll just have to wait and see I guess."
Deelel	Deelel gets how dangerous this is, she doesn't seem armed but she hopes she'll not need her weapons she looks to Tomoyo for a moment and smiles a little bit at her. 5R% R"Lets get this started shall we Tomoyo?" Whe'll will rezz a rew things small hoving sphers follow her as they form from light and wireframes. She checks out the displys on the things she just summoned and seem to be ready. "Oh by the way the ID is Deelel."
Mamimi Samejima	Mamimi keeps her head down after being called out still, more-so when D speaks up. It seems, perhaps, it would be better if she did so.
August Kohler	As Mamimi doesn't reply and D-BASe shouts at him, August sighs and retreats from it. "Fine, fine. Forgive me if I'm skeptical about people who talk to thin air. The plan sounds solid otherwise. I assume you're going to be leading the big charge, D-BASE?" There's a glance towards the tunnels, as August considers things a bit more. "In that case, I think this is pretty good preliminary planning. We blow our way in, we shoot whoever gets in our way, and then we blow OMNI wide open. You all retreat back through the tunnels, I focus on interference." He seems satisfied with this plan. "I'll arm up. We have a date?"
Deelel	Deelel gets how dangerous this is, she doesn't seem armed but she hopes she'll not need her weapons she looks to Tomoyo for a moment and smiles a little bit at her. % R"Lets get this started shall we Tomoyo?" Then beside Deelel a pair of spheres form first in wirefreame takes shape then the golden light continues as the spheres take shape. Shortly after a black shell forms and it lights up with the same colour of light lines her clothing has. She checks out the displays on the things she just summoned and seem to be ready. "Oh by the way the ID is Deelel."
Yuna Kagurazaka	At the boutique, there's a knock on the door - 'fashionably late' by social standards, but this is hardly a social gathering, and to judge by the look on Yuna's face, she knows it. "Sorry I couldn't get here sooner," she says quietly to Tomoyo and the others. "Busy day for me .... they're ramping up publicity for Star Ship Shoujo, they'll probably start doing cast announcements this week. Did I miss anything important ... or rather, how much did I miss that I need to catch up on?" she asks sheepishly. It's only after Yuna has settled in that there's a brief flicker of light, with Elner materializing next to and just behind Yuna's shoulder, or as close to that as seating arrangements permit.
Tomoyo Daidouji	Tomoyo pats Yang gently on the shoulder. "I don't think so. But please, try to remember why you asked for my help. You wanted a peaceful, perfect solution to all this. I'll make it happen, but I need your help. Please, try to let go of your anger." She looks to Sanary and smiles. "Yes, please try not to hurt security if we get caught. They're just doing their job." As Deelel makes... something appear, Tomoyo giggles softly. "We're not doing it right now~ Soon though." And now, finally Yuna makes it. Tomoyo doesn't want to explain it all again, so she gets the cliff notes. "We're going to see OMNI directly and use its systems to inspire the whole city to sing in protest." She looks around and smiles. "I feel good about this plan. I think this time, we'll succeed for sure~" She then gives everyone a date to gather at the city's council building. ================================================================================ "Thanks buddy," D-BASE says to August before leaping from the 'stage' and patting Mamimi on the shoulder. "This time, OMNI is going down for sure. We'll be free to do whatever we want!" He smirks and pumps his fist, setting off another cheer. He then yells a date for everyone to gather here again. These two dates are the same.
Yuna Kagurazaka	"Ohhh ..." Yuna smiles. "I hope it works out - ah, are these the lyrics?" she asks, spotting one of the pamphlets. "If you can get me a copy of the music, I can put some time in rehearsing and learning it so I'll be ready for the big day." That's really about all she can add at this point. It's pretty clear, looking at her face, that she's still kicking herself for missing the meeting ... but the fact that she can still help out with the plan is just as clearly a reassurance to her.
Sanary Rondel	"What are the odds I'll run into someone from last time?" Sanary says that half-jokingly and even laughs, but it's a very distinct possibility that even she recognizes. "I'll have my stuff ready, then. Maybe I can bring an instrument to... Look fitting or something, too?" She glances at that pamphlet as well, squinting for a moment before looking over at Yuna with a DIRE EXPRESSION. "... You can take the lead on that part. I'll just... Move my hands next to something." Music is hard!
