Carna     When Staren attempted to bomb and blast the monsters in the Red Trough, it had resulted in Things swarming up the walls towards the vent they were hiding in. He wanted, rightfully, to rescue those suffering there, and put a stop to the torment, but it seems as though drawing the hostility of the entire place at once is a poor strategy. "If the primary objective is rescue," Enark begins as he sits with the others in a conference room of sorts. "Then any plan we come up with must account for three things: Entry, retrieval, and exit. Preferably, all three of these should be covert and result in few or no violent engagements. It may prove necessary to eliminate sentries and if we ourselves are discovered, then a quick and silent 'take down' is key to avoiding further detection."

The Blue Scholar is in his more modern clothes that he wore last in Ariamis. They have been dry-cleaned to remove the mud and blood and so on. He also has eyeglasses. Not becaue he needs them, but just because they complete the look and make him feel more comfortable. He has a stack of books on strategy and covert infiltrations and prison escapes piled up next to him, accounting for his sudden knowledge of the subject.

"Sir Staren, these are suggestions my part only. It is your operaton. But I hope you will take them into account. That being said..." He looks around to each of the others. "Do you have a plan?"
Tomoe Tomoe is here in more modern clothing her self, a t-shirt, jeans, running shoes and a Gate Crashers Union Jacket. She's also got a visator pass about her neck as well. She looks to the Blue Scholar for a momenr then to Staren and tiolts her head. "It's like a mass pull to use an VRMMORPG term, attack one everyone in ear shot comes after you. Even I couldn't tank that much heat alone there. If there was a way to split it up drawing them off or stealth tactics?"
Staren     Staren objects to his previous effort being described as 'drawing the hostility of the entire place at once.' He was testing if there WAS an entire place of guards, or not.

Any who have only seen Staren as a robot or in armor may not be used to seeing him out of it -- he wears a labcoat over casual clothes. "You have good points. I'm just... bad at this kind of stealth. If there are that many monsters monitoring where the lanterns are kept... How can we hide from all of them, while stealing the lanterns from right in front of them?"
Kushiko <"An alternative indeed lay in diversion. Not many here are particularly good at stealth."> Those words from the Tenno come from seemingly nowhere before she fades into being; owed it seems, to her Kubrow companion, and she herself here as 'Nova', as it were.

<"Regardless, it's something that I think many of us should consider everything going wrong."> She pauses. <"...however, this frame of mine excels, as does another in two things: complete survival, or survival by obliteration."> There's a hint of a smile in her words, as she gestures with a hand. One of the cylinders on her forearms twist slightly, and a wisp of energy coalesces into ghostly orb. <"We destabilize and magnify damage, and bend space. Worm holes and portals. Offensive and defensive.">
Staren     Staren hmms. "Distraction and portals, huh? Might have something there... So, we distract them to draw them out, then portal in and portal the lanterns out, huh?"
Kushiko A sound of a grimace from the Tenno. <"Something like that. What I do is generate antimatter, controlled by electromagnetic energy. From this, I can manifest portals that I generally have to see where they're going."> As though to demonstrate, she gestures--instantaneously, a rapid formation of lilac-tinted particles turn into a flat-looking 'doorway', with a thin, chaotically strang of energy reaching out from it. A little over 50 meters, maybe more.

<"Speed. Momentum, direction, all of these things are retained. It could at least get some people gathered more easily. The other thing I can do with it is what we call molecularly 'priming'. Destabilizes them at a molecular level to slow them down and make them walking bombs.">
Carna     "What sort of distractions will be utilized? I have noticed that Priscilla's skulls she throws about have a luring effect. Could we stock up on those, or duplicate their effects somehow? There is no telling whether they would draw anything other than Unlit, but it might still be something we could pursue that would spare us actually violent conflict." Enark suggests.

He pauses in thought. "The mask we obtained after we slew the Throne of the Crimson King... The only one that remained intact. I have done some examinations of it, and it appears to grant invisibility to all forms of detection to its wearer. However, it carries a risk each time it is used. If necessary, it might be possible to use it to enter and depart for one of us. I think it would be best that the individual in question also have a skill set that would benefit from this further power. But the element of risk means it would have to be voluntary."

"Do you need to be able to see your destination to place your portals, Lady Kushiko?" She answers his question moments later. He hmmms. "If you are willing to don this mask and take the risk..." He hesitates. "But it is dangerous. I could not ask another. I just thought it might provide a means for you to create portals as-needed by traveling about undetected."
Kushiko A gesture, then a slight lil' scritching of the Kubrow next to her, who gives a slight 'woof!' at the attention and abruptly, the pair are invisible. There's a faint distortion of light where she and the hound were, but it appears to have originated from is the batdog.

<"We could effect some stealth besides this, but we do wonder what the risk entails.">
Tomoe Tomoe says "I'm pretty good at kicking up a atterntion myself it's been my job since the Death Game." She seems pretty relaxed for the most part as she talks about this like she would do so for a raid in a game.

"While someone makes teh diversion the stealth team could move in for the people being held there. I'm not the best planner I'm generally the one taking orders from the Raid Caller than making the calls."
Staren     Staren nods. "Good, good... but the more backup plans the better. What else can we do?" Staren hmms. "I wonder... would it do to send robotic fakes of us to trick them? Or are they too simple to even care?"
Kushiko <"Good question. A better question: what do we know about the guards anyways, precisely? I could use a refresher on what to expect of those down there,"> which she says as her faceless visage focuses on Enark for a little Red Trough background refresher.
Carna     Enark ahs. "Well, if you can already turn invisible, then I suppose there is little point in using a risky relic such as this. The risk is... That you might not be able to come back. Each time the mask is worn, there is the chance that its wearer will never return. I believe it accomplishes its cloaking effect by removing the wearer from this world temporarily. That is just my guess, as the powers that created it are well outside my own understanding. There is no reason to indulge such a hazard if it is unnecessary."

He then focuses on Tomoe. "That puts you in danger though." He frowns. "I strongly advise against any one of us attempting to engage large numbers of enemies, or indeed of engaging at all if it can be avoided. We do not even know what type of creatures there are beyond the trapped Unlit. We could face literally anything when we return." He drums his fingers on the conference table. "I suppose that we must accept the possibility that, no matter our plans, fighting becomes necessary, and plan appropriately. As Sir Staren says, as many back-up plans as possible."

He shakes his head. "The Unlit are, as I understand it, hungry things. They seek to fill themselves up. They are not beyond tearing apart anything that carries within it a spark of life, and they do not ignore that which attacks them. But there are more things there than Unlit. Drones of some kind might very well be viable. After all, there are still the--"

Enark stops. His eyes wide. "...The Butchers. The ones running that place, or at least securing the bodies which are fed to the Unlit in turn. We wanted to solve the problem of them continuing to capture victims, did we not?"

Enark smiles slowly as he looks at the others. "Why don't we use what we already have available to us? Why don't we free the Unlit, and let their handlers become the distractions we seek?"
Staren     Staren hmms. "An interesting idea, but they're in pits. Freeing them all will be more difficult than even freeing the lanterns would. If you use your portals to get them out, won't they just come after you?"
Kushiko <"It might still be a useful thing."> Kushiko notes regarding the relic. Her invisibility was not foolproof. <"More to the point, it could be an emergency option. Hopefully we would not need to use it, however."> she concludes, before falling quiet to listen, sitting to do so in a seiza, meditative position.

<"Depends on where the Unlit are positioned and held relative to the Lanterns themselves. Portals are not selective, but they do not last forever. When enough matter or people go through it, they dissipate. Could try and adjust it, key them only to the Lanterns themselves. I do the same when I release my antimatter waves.">
Tomoe Tomoe shrugs "It's what I do , but it sounds like more Recon is needed and I trust Staren for that. I half expected he's brain scanned me at some point and backed me up to be honest." She tilts her head a bit as she thinks some more. "Better to let the more sneaky people, hum mm could be a thing but I don't know how I like using them as bait. Still I get if I am a liability then leave me at home. This needs to succeed."
Carna     Enark shakes his head. "It is not that you are a liability, Lady Tomoe, but that you would be better served protecting the infiltration team in case something goes wrong. If you are isolated from the group and swarmed over, and their numbers or their abilities proved too much for you, we would have no way of rescuing you or backing you up. Even if we relied upon Lady Kushiko's portals for a quick extraction, if something were going on with the other team... It would only take a single mistake in timing, a moment of inattentiveness."

He steeples his fingers as he leans on his elbows. "You have the means, I am sure, to open those pits, Sir Staren. Lasers, missiles, what-have-you. Missiles run the risk of endangering those we are there to save. But if you could send your flying drones to cut open pieces of the ceiling with lasers or some such, and cause them to fall down and form ramps or really anything they could use to escape..." He taps his fingertips together. "It probably should not be treated as a primary way of distracting the enemy. As a matter of fact, it would likely only complicate our mission. So if it is employed, it should be done when we are on our way out, so that pursues have the Unlit at their backs, forcing them to focus on being attacked instead of following us. Assuming we use it at all."

Enark closes his eyes. "We may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves. How are we going to get in to begin with? I find it hard to imagine extracting all of the prisoners through a ventilation shaft and then escaping through the labyrinth such as we faced before. There must be a main entrance somewhere that we did not see due to our bypassing much of the Mausoleum before. Should we perhaps scout for that entrance? Getting a better idea of the place itself than the tiny window into it we saw before would likely help in planning the actual rescue."
Kushiko <"Seems to be that more recon is needed. I was thinking that to begin with, but chose not to say anything until it became painfully obvious. I did not want to presume."> A helpless shrug from the sitting Tenno, as she looks to Tomoe.

So to speak.

<"Nothing is set in stone, as Enark implies. The basic premise here would be to use my Wormholes to get Lanterns quickly to you and whoever else comes. Much of what else I can do will be towards slowing them /all/ down but we definitely need more information first. Either way, we will undoubtedly need your support to make sure this succeeds, since I am thinking stealth alone can't do this.">
Staren     Staren tilts his head and looks at Tomoe. "I've never done that. Not even under Fiora's influence. It's how I knew I wasn't turned evil. You're welcome to be scanned at any time, of course." He looks back at the others. "As for recon... Well, we could certainly /try/ sending drones, and seeing if they attract the monsters. If they don't, maybe we can map the place out beforehand, and plan out how to more quickly steal away the Lanterns."

Staren hmms. "Such precise cutting, to produce ramps... I haven't tried it, but I can look into that. Failing that, I can also use the nanites, but they're slower... trying to time it so close so we get out just before they get free might be trickier."
Tomoe Tomoe says "So keep it quite rather tha making it noisy." Enark gets a look from her for a moment she pauses and thinks about that for a moment. "All right but my job is a the Tank. I'm the one who should be taking hits if anyone is." She seems legitly shocked Staren has not done she was partially joking. "I might consider it. Given what happened with the Skull Reaper."

She notes to STaren and then thinks for a moment on the matter of drones and looks to Kushiko.

"Mapping it out ahead of time is a good idea if the drones can pull it off."
Asterios "Can map, no... problem." A voice suddenly booms from distressingly nearby. There is a minotaur here now, it seems! He has... Apparently stepped right through a wall. How did he get through that without breaking it? Don't worry about it!! "Navigation. Is my speciality!"

Beat.

"So, no problem?"
Kushiko Internal note: must discuss with the minotaur how they did that, totally unrelated to spacefolding or anything else Void-related they do. Right?

...right.

That said, the faceless Warframe cants her head slightly. <"Don't see an issue, unless someone else here does.">
Staren     Staren looks at Asterios. "But can you map it without attracting attention to get the layout back to us? Or would we have to go in and then plan when we get there?"
Asterios Asterios blinks once.
Hissterios blinks twice.

"Can walk through walls!" He says, helpfully, as if this would help out. "Also, do not need light to see. Have lived in place like this for very, very long time."

"Then I was the predator. Will be okay, I think. Or! I can make... New labyrinth."
Carna     Enark jumps a bit but settles upon seeing who it is. "As long as you do not become a target in the process--" he cuts off as Staren makes the same point. "Though, given your familiarity with such arrangements, perhaps you can help give us insight into where the main entrance would likely be located. We never found it. Apparently a number of us listened to voices in their heads and were led to a way to bypass most of the Mausoleum. But now that proves an obstacle to actually knowing the place we seek to explore well enough to rescue prisoners. So finding the entrance we could have used now proves necessary."

He glances to Tomoe and says, "I understand that you excelt at 'tanking'. My point was only that such a valuable skill would be better served being near to those who might not endure as well as you, rather than if you were far away from us, unable to either rescue or be rescued if something goes wrong. A tank who does not support her... 'Party' is not doing her job properly. I think."
Kushiko <"Well. That's as much of a plan as we can get then."> the Tenno concludes. <"Assess the surroundings a bit more, get an idea of precision. Might be as I can drop people into your maze for safekeeping if this labyrinth of yours could be... mobile, somehow?"> Hopeful thought. She doesn't quite remember.
Staren     Staren nods. "Hmm... one last question: How are you at detecting secret doors and hidden passages and the like? Traps they might spring on us?"
Asterios "Mmmmn, do not worry! If I am target, I can fight. Am strong, you see." The minotaur seems quite confident that he'll probably be alright in the cramped corridors and claustrophobic environs he may be wading into. Then again, considering who he /is/, his confidence may not be unfounded. "But... Mmn. You are looking for... The other entrance?" Asterios furrows his brow and nods, "Yes. Can probably find. Show me where this other, secret path was. Give me map. Will find way."

He nods at Kushiko, then! And then shakes his head. "Not... Really? I can summon my Labyrinth. Transform surroundings. But cannot... put people inside. They will still be where they were, only there will be a maze!"

Asterios shrugs at Staren's question, then. "Had to be good. Otherwise would fall into Daedalus' traps. No good, would have died!"
Staren     Staren nods. "That, my drones aren't as good at. So... I fear we may need to make two trips. One to stand by as backups if something goes wrong for Asterios while making the map. And then the more direct rescue mission -- Unless, upon recieving his findings, we decide that we are capable of executing the jailbreak then."
Kushiko Well that's a wash of an idea. For the moment then she relegates herself to listening and contemplating. Ideas yet to form, perhaps.
Tomoe Tomoe says "Right." That's all tomoe has to say there's no hostility but maybe did she just flinch a bit? She totally did flinch there, she doesn't say anything else though the big guy as she's nickd named him is quite welcome here. She looks to him for a moment and she pauses for a moment.

"Wait Daedealus as in the Greek Inventor of myth?!"
