Scene #5803: Barbeque at UQ

Touta Konoe	For those who have decided to visit Touta's world they have to take a slight detour throw what appears to be some sort of underwater cavern network. It's almost like going to Seaworld, except it's dark and damp with no AC. There's no glass to keep the animals away from you, the animals are actually magical monsters, and in the distance it looks like there's an actual Lochness monster inside one of the bodies of water. But other than that, yeah totally like a trip to Sea World! Thankfully, for those who might be new to traversing this place Mairead has been once before and should provide an ample guide out of the cavern which appears to be up as the exit is out of a water well. Well they won't know that till they get to the other side of it though, as from the cavern it probably just looked like a sealed off hole in the roof. Once they arrive what's on the other side of that well is kinda surprising. It's night time so it's a bit hard to see but it appears as if the group is on an island of some sort. As they look around they can see what appears to be a more traditional Japanese style structure. But that's not we're they're heading. They're heading a bit farther away into the Staff Loding area where a more modern and less grandiose apartment is hidden. It looks like the equivalent to the back of a restaurant we're the keep the trash. But that would make sense for where the staff would stay. On the bright side, they have immediate access to a beach only a couple feet away from the entrance. It's here that they would see a young man with spiked-black hair near what appeared to be some sort of campfire on the beach and a grill right next to it. "Hey guys! You have any trouble finding the place?!"
Tomoe	Tomoe has come again to visit Touta, and while still in Salamander form she's wearing far more casual clothing, it still looked like it was out of a fantasy world but it wasn't heavy plate thankfully. she grins at Touta and grins. "No monsters this time or finding an arm you lost before I was born." She makes a bit of a face about that. "It's good to see you and it's nice to be stretching my legs somewhere that's not an dead world, or say dealing with that /quest/."
Mortimer Balman	Finally comes briskly walking up, carrying a big ol' cooler box over his shoulder. "Ayyy!" Calling out as he waves with his free hand. He's just wearing his usual, nothing fancy. There's a big pack of steel skewers sticking out of his left pants pocket, and the pungent aroma of fresh vegetables and /meat/ emanates from the box. This was gonna be delicious. "Took me a few ta find the place, you'd be amazed how many places fit the description of this little corner o' the Multiverse." The cooler slams onto the ground. "So who brought what? I got vidalia onions, chicken chunks, couple cloves of garlic fer me, tomatoes, ginger, cumin, some coriander, testouri cheese, an' some fresh lemon juice."
Mairead Sandilands	Mairead looks over her shoulder, "Are ye all ok back there?" she asks them as she looks back, "Seeing Lochness is interesting," she adds as she is wearing a simple sundress and not her normal Academy cloths or her Fuki's while at the Hikari Defense Alliance. Currently, she is carring a simple basket with some food in it and is in a good mode. Additionally, she is using the map she has of the tunnels due to being this way once and it is in her mind due to her IS. As they exit the tunnel, she loosk aorund and is walked witht he others to the beach and spots, "Touta," she says to him a sshe smiles. "What happened to ye hair?" she asks him as she curtsey's to him as she sets down her basket.
Touta Konoe	Touta's glad to see everyone who was able to make it. Especially since he was afraid that the food was gonna go to waste. The location they were in was pretty nice at this hour. They away from the city so one could see a plethora of stars in the sky. The fact they were on the beach next a bonfire was probably pretty toasty while at the same time getting a nice view of the waves as they pushed and pulled on the surface of the sand. Yeah, it probably was a pretty nice change of pace for those who weren't use to it. Touta had already gotten a head start on the cooking. The smell of barbeque sauce on chicken could be smelled upon the grill that had been placed near the bonfire. As Mairead and Tomoe arrive first he waves them over. He's dressed pretty casual right now as well. Mostly just in some swim trunks and jacket. "Yeah, it's nice being to relax like this now and again. Still, I'm sorta surprised you didn't bring your Dark Lady outfit. I'd have totally believed it was a swimsuit!" He is pretty serious about that comment, this was like the one most appropriate moment for it. WASTED! Then there was Mairead who arrived in what looked to be wearing a sundress. Touta stares for a moment...But he snaps out of it as she asks him about his hair. "My hair? Uhm...It's always been this spiked. Maybe it's just been a while. I haven't been at the academy for a bit, you haven't forgotten what I looked like already did ya Mairead?" He says jokingly to the girl. Then last but not least he looks to Mort. He never met the guy in person as far as he can recall but the more the merrier! Plus he brought more food! Wait...He brought alot more food. "Man, I really hope everyone didn't have dinner yet. Cause we're going to be having alot. Here you can bring that stuff over to the grill if ya want. Do you want to have the kebabs on the grill or over the bonfire?"
Mairead Sandilands	Chuckling, Mairead looks, "I have not forgot ye," she says to him as she looks around and than at Mort, "I brought some Haggis, some apples and of course some good veggies; carrots, bell peppers, califlower and of course some beef and pork." she adds as she looks at Tomoe than at Mort, "I do not believe I have meet ye," she states as she places her basket ont he sand. "Me name is Mairead Sandilands, of Clan Sandilands. I am the IS Repersentative Cadet/Candidate of Scotland," and she courtsey's to the two. "Pleasure to meet ye," she adds as she stands back up to her height of five foot six inches. What Touta would notice, besides the outfit, is that her hair is not in a ponytail and is lose, and if the wind is blowing, is moving in the wind. "How have ye been lad," she asks Touta?
Mortimer Balman	"Aye, I remember yer voice, young lady. Mairead.. Yer the girl who does that mecha stuff, I think. The school with the bizarrely sexist mobile armor designs. Still don't get how that works.. Anyway!" He'd bow his head a bit in response. "Glad t'see none of ya are terribly disconcerted by my non-human appearance!" A pipe was produced from his other pocket, which he carefully lit with his breath, and began puffing away while handing out skewers and proceeding to set up one of his own. Meat, garlic, tomato, meat, onion, tomato, garlic, meat, etc.. "Eyy, Tomoe! Been far too long. Dig in, there's plenty'a food fer all. Let it never be said a Balman skimped on cookouts.. Do you mind if we do open flame, Touta? Might come off as stereotypical but I do prefer it ta grillin'."
Tomoe	Tomoe has not seen Mort in a veyr long time the Badger Man would find Tomoe turning abotu grinning wide and then moving to hug him, she may have forgot hersdle and could end up set on fire but who cares for the moment. "MORT!" It's been far too long and she's really happy to see him she'll let go of him one way or anotehr at the mention of food also get her grining. She will finally reply to Mai she got a bit distracted by things. "I don't think we did though if I recal we were in the union. Still with that gone? I didn't feel any real reason to get heavily involved again." She now looks to Touta and pauses "I may need to change my clothes a bit!"
Touta Konoe	Touta laughs a little as Tomoe says she's gonna change. He was sorta joking. Well he was serious but he didn't think she'd really want to change. "You're fine! I didn't mean you needed to or anything! If you're comfortable don't sweat it! But if you do, you can go into the apartment real quick and change if you want. No one should be in there right now." Then he turns back to Mort waving the notion of being disconcerted. "Don't sweat it. Honestly, you wouldn't know it from first glance but most of the staff on the island aren't humans at all. In fact this entire hotel is mostly for monsters, immortals, demons and the like. We get humans on occassion too but most people think this island's haunted. Also feel free to go use whatever you want. If you're going to be cooking something you should use what you feel most comfortable with after all. Still, you guys definitely brought alot of food!" Once he gets Mort accomodated with all his food he goes back to Mairead again, "I'm great! I've been a bit busy here and there but I've been taking the time to try and visit places around the Multiverse when I can. There really is a bunch of places you can miss if you aren't paying attention to out there. I thought my world was big, I couldn't imagine seeing all the multiverse in one life-time. Oh...Mairead..." He steps a bit closer to her as he examines her, perhaps it's because they're closer to the fire now but he can get a better look at her. "You look really pretty tonight. You do something different?" It was another sincere commment on his part. She really did look good. Though most of the times he's seen her she's seemed to be very fashion savvy. "Oh right, feel free to take what you guys want! Don't be shy, we literally got too much food here so feel free to take anything home with ya too."
Mairead Sandilands	Mairead looks as she blinks and than looks down, "Oh," she say as she smiles. "I am not in my school fuku or the HDA fuku. And I have my hair down," she adds as she looks. "Figured it would be better this way due to the beach and being in the company of friends," and she looks around. "Mort, here is the Haggis," she says to him as she offers some to him. Looking at Tomoe, Mairead blinks, "I think I remember talking with ye when the Union was still together, but I cannot remember. Still, pleasure ot meet you," she adds as she loosk around. "Anything I can do to help ye out?" she asks Mort, Touta and Tomoe.
Mortimer Balman	Mort would accept a big chunk of haggis and /tear/ into it. "Mmm.. Delicious. You Earth humans really know how to do a good job with assorted grab bags of mystery meats, I tell ya." Whatever bonefire was going, Mortimer would go ahead and further fan the flames.. By exhaling a big gout upon them, making them shoot up into the night air and crackle and blaze. "Therrre we go. Now that's more of a proper bonfire." The skewer laden with food is thrust in on one hand, the other holding haggis so he can eat it. Somehow he's doing this while smoking a pipe.
Tomoe	Tomoe lwaves the haggis to Mort and Mai. It's just not her thing but the other foos that does get the Salmander's attention. "Maybe depnding on what Cardinal throws at us next, who knos there." she does think about chaning her clothing but will wait for the moment she'll be moving to dig into much of the offered food as she sits down. "I won't say no to the offer of food, though one thing I been thinking about lately? Haven really needs a work over I mean it. Still don't know what caused the golems we had to clear out of there as it wasn't a game zone....So Mort? How haves your life been since we last met and ...well? The eternal war finally ending."
Touta Konoe	Touta finally takes a moment to sit down near the fire as he grabs himself one of pieces of chicken he had already cooked up. As far as things that were there to eat it looked like Touta had already done some chicken and veggies so if people wanted to eat there was already plenty to go with. But as for the kebbabs they probably still needed to be cooked by Mort, thankfully it appears that he really knows how to light up a fire. "Woah, easier there! If the fire gets too big people'll start wandering what we're doing...Though maybe that's not a terrible idea. We really do have alot of food..." It's at this point he looks at the meat that Mort and Mairead had been chatting about. "So what exactly is Haggis anyway? I heard you guys talking about it before but I don't think I've ever cooked anything like it. It's Scottish cuisine I'm guessing right?" He also takes the opportunity to hand Tomoe one of the kebbabs when they finish up. Gotta make sure he's feeding the guests properly afterall. "Haven huh...It looked pretty nice from the last time I saw it, but I guess you've had that place for a while. I wouldn't know how to upgrade it though. Oh, speaking of SAO stuff...Tomoe did I ever send those plans to you at all?" He asks referring to the ones he had gotten from the tent a while back.
Mortimer Balman	Mortimer would fuzzle Tomoe's head a bit after his haggis was done, spinning the skewered food carefully to cook it evenly. "Haggis is this wondrous dish made out of sheep or cow offal, they use suet and seasoning and boil it in the critter's own stomach. It's amazing." Almost done with this kebab.. He took it out of the fire briefly to check it. Mmm. Back into the flame. "Oh.. I've been up and down a bunch, Tomoe. Keep myself busy. Help out younger folks when an' where I can. Can't say as I'm sad to see the superfactions go- their little forever war was disgustingly untenable. Even with constant unifications. Grotesque waste of resources."
