Mitsu Mirage     It's late in a busy, bustling town in Paladin's territory and Mitsu's in a shop, holding some items in a bag. "Mmm, I hope this works." she mutters, tapping her foot on the ground as she heads up to the trade shop's cashier. "So yeah, I need to sell these items." she comments, a grin upon her face, "They're all real so you don't really need to check them." she comments, faking confidence in this. She had a plan in mind, she was just worried about this going the /wrong/ way."

"Yes, yes... I see... polices and procedures state that I h..." there's a fist slamming down, "To hell with the P and P, just give me my money for them. My mama's dying, okay?!" she frowns in mock pain. The cashier presses an emergency button, sending a call to the Paladins... "B.. but yes, of course. Hand me them and we can... get started, right right?" "About damn time, y'know. Come on, get a move on..."
Theo Morrison The Paladins are somewhere between Multiversal police and the superhero team of your choice. Normally, a silent alarm goes to the local police, which it does. However, if someone on the Paladins' List (there's supposedly something like this, as far as rumor has it) comes up, it goes straight to them. Thus: Mitsu's ill-fated(?) attempt to pawn nebulous, probably-illicit goods gets forwarded to the right people...

    ELSEWHERE

Theo, presently on his break and sitting in front of an insufficient desk fan, mumbles something about mill and the current standard meta. He's playing on his work computer, and it's not too surprising when the notification flashes across the screen. "Ah, you gotta be kidding me..." Theo concedes his match, tabs out, checks the location and gets a street view of the spot. It's about thirty seconds of work.

    RIGHT ABOUT WHERE MITSU IS

The door opens with a little bell-ringing sound. Theo politely clears his throat from behind her. It's been almost a minute since the button got pushed on the sly.
Mitsu Mirage Mitsu makes a soft sigh as she visibly relaxes, the shop cashier going through the items. "I'm glad this is going to help." she nods, "Now where to get some metal..." she mutters, tapping her foot. "Maybe I'll just go there... or this new place discovered.." she gives a brief nod and a grin...

    Then the bell ringing.

She turns around and locks eyes with Theo. "That's her, sir." the cashier states... but what happens next is a surprise... MItsu grins, "Well, glad I know /one/ way to summon a Paladin without using a card. We need to talk." a turn to the cashier, "Thanks, you played into my hand, I appreciate it. Keep the shit, I don't actually need them."

She slowly approaches Theo... and for once doesn't look like she wants to beat his head in. "I have news that I think you and the Paladins need, internal Concord news. It's about the War too... and might affect your own Master in the Paladins."
Theo Morrison Theo nods at the cashier, a little motion of acknowledgement, and then focuses on Mitsu. He rolls his eyes a little. "You don't... people don't actually say 'you played into my hand' without a maniacal laugh and a flash of lightning." He points past her at the cashier. "Hold that stuff until I get back. Don't touch it." He points at Mitsu. "Gonna be rude for a sec." He clears his throat. "Pacifism."

There's a white light. It's a little too bright, a little too warm, but settles down pretty fast. Mitsu should feel a sense of peace and relaxation roll over her for a second or two, and then fade to the background. Her possible urges to get violent in his direction, when acted upon, will get blunted and thwarted by a resurgence of that same sense of peace and tranquility.

There's a little sigil floating over her head, too. She might not even notice it at first. Enchantment tends to leave a sign of its happening, in Theo's book.

"OK. C'mon." Theo turns and leaves the store, reaching out to hold the door for her. "Let's walk and talk. If you're willing to set off an alarm for five minutes of conversation, least I can do is give you that. I'll, uh, undo the spell once we're done. Don't feel like getting my nose broken today."
Mitsu Mirage     The strange flash of light blunts her want to punch Theo... then again, she didn't want to punch him anyways... at least, yet. "Cover your ass, huh?" she questions, smirking some at the card player, only to follow behind him, waving off the shopkeep. "So, yeah. Thanks."

She clears her throat, "You know I am a thief, big deal. But what I'm reporting is skeevy even by my standards." she gives a bit of a shrug, "Priscilla's building a soul collection device to power up Saber. She has the Saber and his Master in the Concord as a partner so right now I can't legitimately touch him... yet."

She stops, "Theo, I need your help and the Paladin's help on this, I know I'm askin' much here but I can provide papers..." she reaches into her jacket, pulling out data sheets. "And recorded conversation about it. She's going to collect souls... possibly from her world, but who knows where else... and knowing the proclivities of everyone else in the Concord..."

She mutters, "This is crazy, you and I know this. She's planning on supercharging the Saber past everyone elses..." she clutches her hand into a fist, looking at Theo. "I think she's going to kill Saber's Master once she gets it going so she can make a Wish." she grumbles, "I need you to do something... and I'm about to expose myself as a Master in this war."
Theo Morrison "Ass-covering is an important skill that I learned way before I signed up with the Paladins," Theo asides. He falls into step alongside Mitsu instead of in front of her. Apparently, he still doesn't want her in his blind spot. He leads her along the road, apparently scanning the passer-bys and the traffic with idle interest. "Yeah, I'm not really interested in what you stole or pawned unless it's some kinda bomb or something. So..."

Mitsu gives up some pretty interesting details. Theo stops, turning to look at her. "So, wait. You're telling me that Priscilla is planning to feed a Servant a crapload of souls to make it super powerful, and then murder someone she said is one of her citizens to get a wish?" Theo knits his brow in thought. "That... doesn't sound /completely/ right, but it doesn't sound like something she /wouldn't/ do, either. She's kind of a hard lady."

"Assuming you're not playing me like you were playing the poor, mildly-guilty shopkeeper back there..." He holds out his hand for the sheets. "...maybe I can do something about that. But, why? Like --" He tips his head side to side a little. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to turn down good intel, but why would you be so worried about it that you'd betray your own leader? --unless you think your wish is important enough to warrant that," Theo adds a half-second later, by way of answering his own question. "Something like that?"
Mitsu Mirage     Mitsu hands over a copy of the report to Theo, "More or less that's what's going to happen, Theo." there's a pause, "And no, I'm not playin' you like that shopkeep. I just had to use him to get to you... I mean, would you seriously come to me if I said "Hey, Theo, let's talk!"... especially over the public channels? I'm... not super smart but not stupid enough to expose my subversion like that. Hell, I think the entire Concord... and other masters don't know I have Lancer."

She smirks a bit, "Wish or no, wouldn't mass soul collection be of something important to the Paladins? It's also skeevy as hell to me and well..." she shakes her head a bit, "Look, I have my wish and so does Lancer... but with Priscilla's wish... who knows what that is and frankly, I'd rather not find out. Promise me you'll tell Eryl this, ok? Just... don't mention me by name, that's all I ask. Last I need is the Concord breathing down my neck while I'm close..."

"I'm... planning on meeting up Saber and his Master... judging at first, I want to see if I can take on the Master at a later time and have Lancer take on Saber." she pauses, "Tell you what, do this for me and I'll owe you. Any time you need something. One time offer."
Theo Morrison Theo takes it. He skims over it briefly, and then tucks it into his coat pocket. "Fair point. I'd've probably met you at the Restaurant at the End of the Multiverse or something if you'd offered it as an apology, but that's still kinda out of nowhere with your self-professed hatred of 'the cops.'" He gives her a sidelong look, as if wondering if he should try to correct the assumption that he's one of the boys in blue. He decides to leave it at, "I was a P.I. before this though, so I know the value of a good lead. Thanks."

He starts walking again, leading her along, around the block. It's slightly less traversed down here. "Okay. So, here's what I'm gonna do." He tilts his head back and looks thoughtful. "I'm gonna make a report saying that an anonymous source gave me a tip about what the Concord is up to. We're gonna take it with the same grain of salt we'd take anything anonymous, but we'll keep it in mind. From what I understand, souls in Lordran are sort of like essentia without being soul-souls that everyone supposedly has, so it's not /as/ bad. But still..."

A glance Mitsu's way. "You know that she's gonna try to kill you if you so much as move a hair on Saber's head out of place, right? Priscilla, I mean. That hot-headed guy from the sushi place gave it a shot and she did her best to gut him. Said the only acceptable penalty for turning a hand against the Great Lord Gwyn is death."
Mitsu Mirage     "You're welcome." MItsu comments as she's led around the block. She listens to Theo as he explains what his report will do... and she nods. "Fair enough but still... you can give Eryl my name directly on this if you must... it's serious, y'know." she gives a bit of a sigh, "Yeah, that's what Staren was saying too but I figured he'd have some backbone about this, but eh..." she shakes her head.

"Yeah, I know. I know she'll try to kill me... and if she does... then I'll defect." she gives a bit of a shrug, "Don't think the Paladin's would take me though, but you never know. Anyways, I'm prepped in case something like that happens, but I think Ruler might step in since it would technically be a Multiversal interference in the war. He said not to bank on it though."

She throws her hands behind her head, walking behind. "Yeah, I heard about her trying to gut that Touta guy. That fox tried defending him about it but eh... whatevs." she grins, "Gonna remove this enchantment? I promise I won't punch you. It wouldn't do good to punch the person I'm asking for help, right?"
Theo Morrison "If he asks, I'll tell him. I won't make it public, though. You know the best way to keep a secret, right?" Theo asks, smiling faintly. "Don't tell anyone. Somebody'll bring it up on a public band, otherwise." He quirks a brow, though. "Staren knows about this? Huh. Well, he's a friend of mine, but it seems like he's kinda embraced the transhuman heaven ethos, so... who knows? Maybe he knows more than we do." Or maybe he's just hoping, Theo thinks, and can't help himself.

There's a bit of a laugh. "If Ruler was gonna stop Multiversal interference, he would've gotten on my case a lot harder. I'm still working out why he's even here, though. Still --" He shrugs. "-- don't get dead, alright? I'm gonna have trouble sleeping at night if it turns out you doing the right thing got you shivved by a giant invisible murderess."

Theo stops and turns. He raises a hand and makes a motion like he was plucking something and tossing it aside. The feeling, and the enchantment, vanish. "Right. We should probably part ways before someone gets suspicious, anyway. So, uh... be careful. Okay?"
Mitsu Mirage     Mitsu nods a bit... "Yeah, he's part of the Concord as well... but yea, if anyone pokes on the public bands, we talked about slapping me with a fine for selling counterfeit goods, okay? It fits my MO." she laughs. "So... yeah..." she shakes her head, "I don't know anything about this transhumanism shit, all I know is that everything has a soul, y'know." she shrugs and hmms, "I"ll try not to get dead, I still need to punch you a few times before I do."

The feeling and enchantment vanish and she hops in place. She places a hand upon Theo's shoulder, "Look, this means a lot to me, thank you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find some metal, I gotta play along with this scheme of hers to keep things off me."
Theo Morrison "We live in strange times," Theo opines. He gently shrugs Mitsu's hand off a touch awkwardly. "Yeah. There's a scrapyard like a mile and a half that way." He points off in one direction. "Maybe you can, I dunno, try to pawn off really sinister hubcaps. There's probably a market for that. Somewhere. Multiverse, right?"

Theo starts to go back the way they came, and then stops. "Oh! Here." He pulls a pad of paper out of his pocket and a pen. There's some hasty writing, and he tears the top sheet off and passes it over. "For your proof-collecting."

It's absolutely a fine.

Theo is gone when Mitsu looks up. There's a sudden and strong breeze that fades a moment later.
