Kotone Yamakawa Earth
Ameri-Russio Alliance
Hawaii - Kahului Tidal Power Plant
For those new to the reclamation operation, it was a pretty simple briefing the Amri-Russio Alliance was seeking to reclaim the city of Kahului after a natural warp gate was found in the region to turn it into a multiversal port. The hiring operative one Colonel J. Heller was if you did not have a record on this world he didn't give a damn so long as you behaved here. There was a bounty out for recovered third world war military hardware. The same went for any other worthwhile salvage finds and the pay was pretty good in general too.

Those who did not have the means were given lifts by Military VTOLs and all were provided with digital and or physical maps of the power plant's layout from before the war.

Kotone was the contact point for in the field given she was a citizen of the alliance.

"We do have some new intel from the drone flybys and Orchids own sniffing around. Someone or something has been here for a while power's on but they are not plugging it back into the intact grid, the last drone fly by was shot down we need to presume if someone's here they are hostile. We need to retake the plant intact or will be weeks or months longer to get things up and running here again. That's all I got everything else is in the data packet, keep alert we have had extraverbal wildlife in the region as well."

With that Kotone had lept from the chopper making a three-point landing heading for the planet, the lights were on, there were some signs of repairs and anyone with scanners would pick up motion, and at least several heat signatures within the complex, several human-sized ones and two much larger ones to go with it.

The plant was sleek and eye-catching once one of the last big bits of American Engineering before the nation fell apart after the war. There were big glass windows which had long shattered on the main buildings but the more industrial sections seemed visual to be more intact more importantly there was an active hardline and wireless network but both had been secured.

The moment the last person is out of the chopper and on the ground it's pulling back and not a moment too soon as the pilot gets a target lock warning, and he pulls out, as an old anti-aircraft gun opens up on them. The transport takes a few hits, but it is able to pull away before it's shot down.
Alexis It didn't take long for word to get out about one world having a possible creature feature intruding from another. Fortunately there's people in the multiverse that deal in this sort of them on a fairly regular basis.

That being said, having the chopper abruptly shot at wasn't nearly as expected. Reflexively Alexis hunkers down a little, though her ponytail continues to flutter about in the wash from the heli making a hasty retreat all the same. "I think it's a safe bet someone was expecting you this time." She muses a moment, but doesn't reach for a pokeball just yet. Better to wait and see just what they might be up against, no matter how prepared she came.
Alexis Maaka     It's time for workywork again.

Maaka loads up a Seburo rifle, loaned by Kotone, as she gets ready for work. She leaps out after her partner, landing three-point style. She switches to night-vision as she stands up, carbine ready. "Bloody anti-air. Guess that's gonna be on the to-do list." She mutters, taking off toward the plant itself, expecting trouble ahead inside. There were robots still present last time, there's a good chance some are here too. Even if they're decrepit, they're still gonna be a pain.
Razel Razel does require one of those physical maps, since there's not a shred of technology visible on him. And he's perfectly willing to go via VTOL craft, since despite being able to actually fly unaided, he does have minions -- all but one are cat-people, if it's a treat for any of the soldiers of this world to see ACTUAL cat-people.

He has abandoned all pretense of being 'normal', so he wears the red-and-black robes that he normally wears, and his horns and tail are visible. It does seems rather difficult for the cat-people to sit still, as they twitch and look around as if searching for something.

The group disembarks from the helicopter, and Razel frowns in the direction of the attack on the chopper. He looks at the handful of minions he's brought along. There are only about ten of them. "Find out where that came from," he instructs.

One of the cats nods and confirms, "Yes, Master." Then he takes off. Yes, 'he'. All his minions are male, including the one lesser demon he brought.
Staren     Staren's happily provided anyone who doesn't already have the gear for digital maps with AR glasses that can display map overlays and such. He looks out the door as he gets ready to jump (magic wings means no need for a parachute) but then the chopper comes under fire! "Shoot! I guess that's our first target! Twilight, can you cover us?" He hovers in place and starts to aim, but then Leyanne says she wants the cannon intact. he sighs in frustration and deploys a smokescreen to help block its view of the chopper instead, then dives to the ground. In the absense of any other immediate sources of attack, he seeks out fallen androids intact enough to reanimate as golems, and starts assembling a squad of minions.
Lin     Lin, being quite mercenary in her handling of the world, isn't going to miss a chance like this mission. Being paid to do what she likes to do (fight neat things and explore new worlds) with perhaps weird new weapons and engineering to tear apart and building efforts... could be well worth her time.

And so, the Solar does something that would just seem CRAZY were she not what she is.

Lin steps up next after Kotone and just... LEAPS free of the vehicle... without anything like a parachute. She ain't even wearing a wingsuit! And yet... somehow, on the way down, Lin mightily FLAPS her arms and rights herself, re-orienting her flight into a horizontal GLIDE... how? Heaven only knows. But she sails down, her fall drastically slowed by riding air currents that perhaps only she can make use of.

The telltale clink-clank of machinery reaches her ears... and shortly after the old guns open fire she whips out an emerald-colored bow that looks to be covered in vine-like designs. In an instant she draws the weapon and lets fly a shining golden arrow that seemed to appear out of nowhere! -- and the arrow's aimed exactingly for one of the gun barrels. On impact, there's a flash of green energies and then vines sprout forth from the ground to entangle the assembly and perhaps worm their way into its mechanics...

And after that extra-suspended maneuver, she comes in for a fairly soft landing next to the others.

"That weapon's old. But it's still working. That means someone is maintaining it. That takes skills!"
Orchid      The money was nice, as are the good deeds involved with repairing a city back to a livable standard. But the real draw is getting to poke around an abandoned city. Figure out what tools the people used. Figure out what their lives were like.

But at the moment, there's a power plant to secure. She jumped out of the helicopter, and is going to ground, a number of her drones fanning out. She'll let someone else take the gun out, she's an expert on what they'll find inside, and making it work properly.
Leyanne The Megamouse... isn't in the chopper. She was, for a while, but half-way there she got bored and strapped on her wingsuit, firing up the engines and flying behind and to one side of the chopper. She circles as the others disembark, her sharp eyes catching sight of the AA gun as it sweeps around towards the helo. She snarls and pulls up hard, braking to slam into the front of the vehicle carrying the cannons even as they open fire. The mouse moves around to the side and simply rips one cannon free from its mountings, using it as a pry-bar to lever the turret off the vehicle. A grenade is tossed down into the hole before the mouse moves over to take the other cannon off the hull, pulling it free a lot more gently and looking the gun over. Once she's figured out how it works, the MegaMouse grins, picking itself up and stomping back to the others.

"New toy!" She says, happily. "Gonna see how it works on the next target we meet."
Twilight Sparkle      Twilight Sparkle had been doing her best to avoid going into this kind of situation. It was just the type where people got hurt for no good reason. But, this was for a good cause and of course she would do her best to ensure that no one got seriously hurt. As they might encounter local humans she had taken human form again. Despite the pale skin, AR glasses, lab coat, purple sweater, blue jeans, and tennis shoes, it would be quite easy to tell it was Twilight thanks to her hairstyle.

She teleports down using her magic then takes off at a run before gasping in surprise and dismay as the transport is fire upon. She is about to try casting a shield spell when the transport gets clear. She lets out a sigh of relief then helps Staren. Her repair powers will be of help if he finds androids not intact enough to reanimate. "Seems as though it is handled!" she answers Staren in regards to the AA gun, though she looks worried. "Is this what it feels like to be part of a military deployment?" she wonders out loud. Her heart is pounding with so many different worries!
Gideon Kaspar     Helicopters aren't all that hard to arrange. Commander Gideon Kaspar especially can expense them on S09's operations budget after coming out way ahead in the zone T6 operation not long ago. That means no dramatically jumping out of a still-flying aircraft, but stepping off the ramp like a normal human being, ducking the rotor wash and keeping a hand on his tie to prevent it from slipping out of his suit, and one on his jacket to keep it from blowing off his shoulders.

Three women step off around him, all of them visibly armed where he isn't. Krysanthe as the silver-haired, amber-eyed one of intermediate height, dressed in semi-formal/semi-tactical white, cream, black and gold, and wielding a heavy submachine gun. Umbra as the black-haired, green-eyed shortest, dressed in dark athletic ops gear and carrying a machine pistol. Fiona as the brunette with red eyes and similar hair streak, dressed in a black and red futuristic jacket setup, with attached plates of armour on robotic arms, yet armed with what looks like a lever action shotgun. All three of them stop simultaneously when the tactical map is routed to them, and when Gideon stops to check something on his wrist, before setting an eyeglass over one eye for the AR display.

Of all things to be interested in at the moment, he walks down the length of the entry platform and right up to the front doors of the power plant, whistling in distant semi-admiration as he looks over the dilapidated design of the abandoned complex. "I've always wanted to see what one of these old world power complexes looked like up close. It's a big ugly beast, isn't it?" "I don't know. It has a certain kind of charm, I guess." "For being dim and gloomy like you? Haha!" "Looking at the past always makes the present seem a little dumbfounding, doesn't it?" Gideon runs his hand over the edge of one of the panoramic window frames, before lifting it for a silent motion that has all three ladies pull ballistic glasses down over their heads, and switch in night vision lenses.

"So, anyone here is an illegal, right?" Gideon asks Kotone, looking back over his shoulder. "If they've opened fire on your craft, that means they're hostile, but we should keep things straight on the conventions on if they surrender." He turns to his squad. "Otherwise, girls, you have special permission to shoot whoever so much as looks at you funny!" "I'm prepared to kill whoever!" "Understood. I will take point." "Isn't that just the same order as usual?"

From there, the group wanders straight in through the industrial section. They will be directly scouting for heat signatures using penetrating infrared scans, and checking for heat residue from footprints, hands on doors or railings, and similar. Likewise, audio sensors are amped up for possible disturbances, as well as a local radar. They aren't taking any chances on being surprised, sweeping corners and taking three to an intersection as they come. Gideon is particularly looking for a direct power line that leads to a generator, or ideally the reactor itself, to plant an electrometer package and check the facility's current output and the direction of flow along the electrical grid.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had been happy to loan a gun Maaka or anyone else who might have asked for it. She is rather surprised to see about the level of notice these operations are getting, not that that's a bad thing hell it makes the job a whole lot easier with this many skilled people on the job. One thing people who are looking for it would notice? There are very few old combat androids and drones about the few that are, are utterly ruined hulks which seem to have been stripped clean of parts.

Lin's right someone has to be maintaining it also reloading the thing, it's been over a decade and likely it has had to be reloaded at least once at some point. Her arrow is on the mark and it does take out one of the barrels but this is a traditional quad barreled anti-air gun so it's still functional but damaged and then comes Leyanne dropping in from on high and flat out jacks the weapon's turret while ruining the rest of it.

With Twilight's own efforts aiding Staren magic short-cut will get a few of the better condition ones Twilight finds up and going, but these things won't be in very good shape they won't last long but anything to eat a bullet that's not one of the team is an improvement for their odds.

Gideon's ride has no issues as the turret never had time to get a lock on his ride and that of his companions. Kotone looks to the T-dolls this will be her first time seeing them in action outside of some of the Demo's Gideon's company has done.

"Likely criminals at this point, just watch yourself for E-warfare my world's pretty adept at it."

Kotone knows the drill she's more concerned about how they will deal with the squatters ho from all reports have small arms and maybe a few salvaged androids. Nothing like that AA gun hints to.

She will cloak and move in ahead as well.

The t-dolls would pick up sounds of the machinery working the plant is operational but someone's not been using the power for much if anything in the region. That much is clear but they will pick up another sound, there's something heavy moving heavy and humanoid, they have a lead to the core of the planet but something is coming this way. An old shudder door rises, behind it are two wildly painted ten foot tall vaguely humanoid machines, packing a good deal of weapons, and are painted almost in wild tattoo like paint jobs.

"Ha you really think you can take this from us? The Capt won't like the power being cut. I'd ask you to leave but we both know your not going to."

with that the two unit's heavy machine guns will open up, thankfully due to how wary Gideon's people are? They will not get caught flat-footed.

<<ARMED suits, Oh hell they look like they might be third gen. Those things still see use!>>

She's opening up with her own assault rifle and moving while the two suits are laying down their fire on those who have got close to them.

If one is careful they could slip past them in all the chaos of the fight and make for the part of the plant they came from, or even find a way to get into it and take control.

WARNING WARNING BULLDOG CLASS ARMED SUITS
Kotone Yamakawa Razel's minion would find signs that several people had been at the gunemplacement recently looked like more than the likely two pilots of the armed suits which are assailing the party right now.
Orchid      Bullets impact against Orchid's cover, a few clipping her as she dives out of the way of the rest. Earlier she worked with Staren to set up the tactical map that is powering the goggles handed out earlier. To this Orchid uploads data from her infiltrating drones. They are going for the big mech suits, getting up close and revealing their weak spots.
Leyanne The mouse grins as she appraises herself of the quad-barreled weapon's general design. "A Shilka. /Nice/. Shame I wrecked the barrel... The kick from them all together will be /fierce/." She giggles. ANd then the two mecha show up. She yelps and dives aside, running for a good distance towards some cover as she's chased by their heavy machine gun fire.

She dives behind cover, but fragments and shrapnel spatter her, causing little nicks and scores to appear in the armoured undersuit she wears.

"Huh." SHe mutters from her cover. "My turn."

She rests the quad-barrel cannon on the wall she's using for cover and opens up on the nearest of the two Mecha. The noise, oddly, sounds more akin to a fast-running sewing machine than a gun, albeit one with a bit of a stutter as it lets out a stream of 23mm armour-piercing incendiary and armour-piercing tracer rounds. The mouse... is actually staggered back by the recoil; that's rare. She can usually manage 30mm cannons on her own but it's just so fast firing.

"It's stitchin' time."
Razel It's a surprise to suddenly be fired upon. Surprise enough that Razel is unprepared. One of the catpeople goes down immediately, and Razel's lesser demon raises a wall of fire to catch any further shots. Sending his minions ahead would be pointless, it would just kill more of them, since most of them are melee fighters. "Spread out," Razel instructs instead. "Chelk, with me." His demon servant is a greater meat shield.

With his feline minions spreading out to find better angles of attack, Razel raises a clawed hand, palm aimed in the direction of the attackers. His sigil appears, a negative image wreathed in flame, and several fiery 'bullets' fire back at the attackers. They're not actual solid projectiles, though; he's somehow made fire into small 'bullets' and launched them.
Alexis Maaka     "Looters, criminals, mercenaries wanting to lie low someplace...we'll find out soon enough." Maaka says over her shoulder, going on ahead...just to run into a patrol of armed suits. "SHIT!"

She takes a few bullets to the chest, grunting in pain as the rounds embed in her armored suit. Wincing in pain, the cyborg ducks behind cover as she peeks back out to fire off a burst at one of the suits.
Alexis At first Alexis is just following the group, having taken a pokeball from the strap in the meantime and idly tossing it up and down in one hand. Nothing yet besides the gun fire, but experience has taught her to never take things at face value on an investigation. Which certainly holds true when the squatters show up, fully armed no less and spoiling to protect their ill claimed hideout.

Reflexively she dives for the ground, the rapid gunfire chewing up the pavement and pelting her prone position with rocky shrapnel. But the tomboy toughs it out as she lines up her aim of sort, and sidearms the pokeball with a flick. "Go, Howlback!" The ball clicks off the ground and half-rolls to the side as it surges out energy that crackles about before condensing down into a lean canine form not unlike a doberman pincher. With light glinting off bits of bone decor and two curling demonic horns as it throws it's head back in an eerie howl "Houndooooooom!"

Alexis takes the moment to roll back off the ground and into a crouch while the creature gets their attention. "Now. Flame charge!" Said horns become sheathed in glowing flames as the devilish dog lowers his head and surges forward towards one of the gunslinger squatters.
Staren     "I'm pretty sure on a military operation you don't have one person cancelling concentrated fire so she can go grab a gun." Staren observes to Twilight. "It's pretty quiet now, though..." Together they get a squad of wrecked androids together, but it turns out that maybe they didn't have so much time to take. New enemies! Staren turns around and starts firing at their legs... but then the shutters raise all the way and the suits turn out to have people in them!

"Woah, woah!" Staren waves his hands in a 'stop' motion. "I dunno who this 'Captain' is, but the power's already cut off! We're trying to restore it to all the people living on this island! If you really need so much power all for yourself... can we talk this out?"

if Twilight's put up a shield, he takes cover behind it, otherwise he uses one of the golems for cover.
Lin     Out from the plant come a pair of well-armed troublemakers. Lin narrows her eyes at the mechanical monstrosities of vague humanoid form... "Warstriders...?!" Or the local equivalent, anyways. Well well, seems like this'll be a challenge after all! She can't help but grin with defiant eagerness, her heart rising to the call of battle in no time at all. She aways with the bow, banishing it back into Elsewhere, and... doesn't draw any weapon at all, in fact. Simply cracks her knuckles while walking slowly towards the two mechs.

"As a matter of fact... I -do- think I can take it from you two." And the very next moment, she throws her hands up and shields her face and vitals, taking a hail of rain of gunfire all over her body. A bunch of the bullets just SPANG OFF upon striking her skin though, making a hell of a mess out of her outfit but inflicting very little injury. ONly a few scratches, bruises, and cuts where some of them were luckier than others.

She's not even wearing ARMOR here... so what the heck is she made of?!

As she stands there, Lin inhales deeply, fighting down the stining pain. A golden-white corona begins to leak from her skin. And the very next second... she becomes like a ray of sunlight, blurring into a streak of golden light that's almost instantly behind the mechs and SLAPPING them with a backhand. Her entire arm ripples as ALL of her considerable strength is focused into one single blow!
Gideon Kaspar     Gideon wipes his finger along a railing as he goes, looking at the thick layer of dust his fingertip collects as if it'd tell him something useful, before blowing it off. The three T-Dolls circle around him at 9, 12, and 3, making sure there are guns pointed down at each crossing of hallways. Despite how actively armed and attentive they are, or perhaps because of it, he struts through the abandoned complex like it's an annoying walk between the front door and the office.

Every so often, he stops to check out one of the scrapped robots, turning over pieces, popping hatches, examining their weapons. "Crap. Garbage. Garbage. Trash. Did nobody here know how to put an android together? Or a /gun/ for god's sake. Really, this is why I warn people about public sector contracts with private companies. They can slap together whatever junk they like and sell it to the government whatever markup they paid a senator to sign for. Typical. No sense of craftsmanship at all." He'll keep looking for anything that looks decently up to date, but his hopes to run into something marketable along the way aren't high so far.

Fiona, on point, stops the group with a wordless motion of her hand, causing Krys and Umbra to form up around her to the sides. They've caught wind of the ARMED suits before Gideon has (obviously, that's part of their function), and IR scopes are already trained on the hallway. When the huge, ramshackle machines burst through, assessing them is almost a formality. The affixed plates on Fiona's frame swivel around on mechanical arms, interposing themselves between her and the suits like hands-free riot shielding, soaking up the first round of bullets with cacophonous clattering.

Gideon stands directly behind the assembly with his hands halfway in his pockets, feeling relaxed enough about the whole thing to laugh. "Sorry, but I'm afraid there's nothing of value worth taking from you! If there was, I might be able to offer you a competitive price, but since there isn't . . ." "You can die with confidence~!" "Don't worry. I'll end you so quickly that you won't feel any pain at all." "Please go to hell."

All three T-Dolls open up at exactly the close range Gideon had picked them for. Though they are ostensibly carrying small arms, and more 'historical' pieces than the ones used in this world, it's more or less for show. They're all anti-combat android upgrades, with deep magazines of overpressure loads and composite rigid slugs. The lever action Winchester is especially incongruous with firing fist-sized blasts of tungsten 10 gauge shot. It's a tightly packed area where all three can shoot as fast as they like, pouring concentrated fire into the lead machine before the other, until hot brass jingles and rolls up against Gideon's shoes. "No use talking to them!" he manages to call out to Staren over the roar of gunfire. "This constitutes an act of aggression by criminal elements! Even a petty sergeant would return fire under these circumstances!"
Twilight Sparkle      Twilight really wasn't expecting to come under fire so suddenly, so the first few bullets make her scream and jump in surprise before she manages to bring up a shield, which is only partially effective at holding off the attack. She yelps as one of the shots catches her in the arm, and while it isn't a serious hit she staggers back and quickly brings a hand to cover the wound. "Nnng...why would they immediately open fire? Who is this Capt?" she wonders, then she calls out, "We only want to get the power grid restored! That would help everyone in the city, wouldn't it?!"

Of course, Twilight isn't one to just take someone's attacks lying down, so even as she is trying to get a dialogue started she is holding a hand up and charging magic in her palm. "Please stand down! We just want to help the people of this area!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone is quick to cloak and join in the general shooting of the ARMED suit's she's also praying these old machines have not been upgraded with them-optic Cameo. She'll keep shooting and her rounds keep trying to get purchase into the thing's heady armour. Orchid is busy feeding tactical data to the rest of the team which should help a lot, the armours do have some weak points namely the joints but those are small and often moving constantly. Also, the faceplate but early scans show it to be heavy armour there. Leyan is using an old but gold bit of technology as she puts the captured AA gun to use on the machine round after round impacts into the machines, that it will do some damage through the ammo from her captured weapon won't last much longer. Razel is turning up the heat with firey bullets, heating up the suits might just be a thing they carry ammo and could it be possible to do heat related things if it's hot enough.

Maaka is laying down more fire adding to he maelstorm of weapons fire that is flying around here and adding to the damage that's being piled on. The elder Alexis meanwhile is doing her thing making use of her animal friends to dish out pain. As her pokemon slams into the lead machine causing it to stagger a bit from the impact and doing more damage on top of that. Lin is next.

"The hell?! What are you!"

only a handful of the people here register as cyborgs and everyone is pulling off the sort of thing you expect out of a combat cyborg body here. It's damn freaky to someone who's not experienced with the multiverse. He doesn't get to say more as Lin takers the bullets then shows she's GOT THE GLOW before she too just moves to pimp slap once of the machines and the pilot cries out again as he fights for control.

Gideon meanwhile is going over the old machinery, most of it looks old if he were to check later most of what he went over would be revealed to be first generation with a few second generation machines. Though he does find some a firearm or two in shockingly good shape an rather advanced assault rifle in a locker near an old crumbled android. If he checks it over he'll find the serial number Seburo C26A on it. It seems to be a solid assault rifle and there's a good scope with some sort of jack on the weapon as well.

Meanwhile for the T-dolls opens up with some serious firepower of their own.

"Cyborg huh not bright enough to wear body armour with all those fancy prosthetics?!"

Calls one of them in replies to the T-Dolls coordinate their fire is making headway with wearing the armours down.

As Staren and Twilight try to talk to the pilots to get them to stand down one pauses for second at it, the other replies.

"Army? Come on no government gives a shit about here. This place is ours now. You wanna help those garbage eaters don't make me laugh."

The other gets back into the fight along with the former as they fire off a salvo of anti-personnel grenades at the assaulting horde against them and from the look of their machines they are getting chewed up /very/ fast. Meanwhile, Kotone has cloaked and is now trying to circle about in the madness.
Twilight Sparkle      Okay, that makes Twilight a bit mad. "How can you say that?!" she exclaims before being knocked back by the grenade blast. She manages to at least dull the attack somewhat but she still gets some cuts and bruises. "Stop it! There's no reason for us to be fighting! Of course they care about this place! And just because you moved in without permission doesn't make a place yours!"

With that she unleashes another beam, perhaps even more powerful than the last. It splits in an effort to disable both armors, but noticably avoids targetting the actual pilots.
Alexis Maaka     Maaka winces again, getting a round deep in her shoulder. "ARGH! Fuck it, I'm done playing around." She growls, before she takes aim with her rifle once more. She opens up with an HE blast from the underslung launcher, firing out at the suit.
Orchid      A grenade lands in front of Orchid, and she makes a wild dive for it. "Oh crap oh crap oh crap!" She leaps over another piece of cover.

Only to find another live grenade there too. "Aw poop."

     *BOMB*

As Orchid is sent comically through the air like Tron Bonne at the end of her boss fight in Megaman Legends 1, her spiders seek revenge for her, trying to dig into and disable the 10-foot tall robot armors, specifically going for the ankle joints, and the actuators here.
Razel Razel's not taking this well, this sustained assault. He's trying to maneuver, but there's just too much flak, too many explosions, too much going on. The grenades hit their mark directly -- right on the mark, completely destroying the area where Razel's standing. But this isn't going to be one of those times where the target steps unharmed out of the smoke of the attack, though...

When the smoke clears, Razel is gone. But if there's any doubt whatsoever that he's not just fine, there's a large splatter of blood on the ground, and a scrap of burnt cloth. And there, floating above the ground, is a red sphere that pulses like a heart. It remains there for a moment, floating unsteadily in the air, before flying away.

Chelk is also gone, but there's no blood there. And elsewhere, the feline minions disappear. Their leader's fallen, it's time to retreat.
Staren     "Scatter!" Staren orders his creations, and they run off, while Staren tries to keep using the disabled android as a shield -- it's not the MOST effective against a grenade, though, and he's thrown onto his back, skidding on the pavement. "Dammit, we're here to HELP!" But he's losing his patience, and he sees a swift path to victory -- disable the mechs, save the people.

Staren holds up his arms, and six tiny missiles launch from his forearms, which arc around towards the mechas' limbs -- micro shaped-charge warheads airburst to create thin lances of heavy plasma that hopefully break something.

Then Staren uses energy wings to quickly right himself, fire a couple of beam shots at the mechs, and start flying towards the corner of some building to use as cover. "Why is it so hard to believe that we care?! It's BECAUSE noone cared until now that noone's showed up!"
Leyanne Leyanne is well and truly blasted out of cover by the grenades. She rolls a couple of times before picking herself up. "Ow." She straps her Shilka gun across her back and makes for the nearest Mecha. She is just /done/ messing around with these guys. "You wanna see whata trasheater is?" She snarls, picking up a heavy iron bar in her left hand and marching on the nearest mecha. "You wanna call them garbage eaters?" She growls. "I'mma feed you some garbage!"

A ten foot mecha doesn't seem all that big when there's an eight foot mouse swinging an iron bar at the cockpit. As soon as it's hit she swings around and re-adresses for a second strike, treating it like a baseball bat.

"I WILL BUST YOUR FACE UP!" she snarls. "IF YOU THINK YOU CAN TREAD ON THE LITTLE FOLK! The say to pick on someone your own size... well, bitch, HERE I AM!"
Alexis Alexis glances to Staren and Twilight for a moment with a big of a half-shrug. "Can't say you guys didn't tr--" The moment of reassurance is cut off by the enemy recovering from the attacks and bringing out some heavier firepower, and area coverage to boot. "--Aw Mew dammit."

Alexis hunches down and holds her arms up for a limited amount of protection. But what really saves her is the blur of black and grey as the Houndoom uses passive speed boost from Flame Charge to leap in between her and the explosives. Who says a demonic beast can't be loyal? Or maybe it's the dog in it. Either way, it's a furious explosion that sends the hellhound careening across the pavement while leaving Alexis with only some residuce ash from the resulting smoke and embers.

But that doesn't mean she isn't going to get worked up about it, huffing into her bangs but refusing to lose her cool. She's been doing this way too long to be phased by such a setback in the action. There's a growl from behind her as Howlback gets onto his paws and shakes himself off. That was a hell of a hit, but he's ready to walk it off and dish out some payback. "I guess I was playing a little too nice.."

Alexis pushes herself to her feet, and snaps her fingers. "Howlback?" She points towards the enemy, and smirks. "Show 'em how you got that name."

The houndoom's devil tail lashes as he growls low, but the timbre of the sound quickly grows in the depths of his chest. Paws dig into the ground, and the deathly wail Houndoom's are renown for emits from the creature's depths as he throws his head back. "HooounDOOOOOOOOM!"

But it's more than just a haunting cry, as it releases a shockwave of Dark energy at the intruders!
Lin     "What am I?!" Lin echoes, voice burning with barely-contained confidence. "A maker and breaker of weapons of all kinds!" She flips away before he can get a retaliatory hit in... but is then slammed hard by the shrapnel from grenades going off EVERYWHERE. The Chosen screams bloody murder in the middle of several explosions... and when the smoke clears... well, her clothes are a mess. and she's covered in burns and bleeding cuts.

Far from blown in half, like most would be.

But she's just BREATHING amidst it... a sharp, fierce inhale. She takes a step forward, hands rising up to grasp a weapon that isn't there--

Until, quite suddenly, it IS there. Sunlight pours from her palm and shapes itself outwards into a shining, translucent blade of pure energy.

"And yours won't last much longer! You've little to gain defending this place with your lives!"

She takes a few steps forward and swings the weapon!! It cuts a glowing arc through the air and--

And something VERY strange happens. For one brief moment, the blade appears to have LENGTHENED and burned its arc in the eyes of onlookers. An arc that clearly cuts a path into the mecha... multiple times!
Gideon Kaspar     "Oh please, you wouldn't know functional battlefield equipment if it crammed itself down your throat." Gideon replies, way too cavalier about all of this despite being stood around in a three piece suit and officer jacket in the middle of a firefight. "Not only is it ugly, but it's barely functional too! There's no sense in being jealous of 'cyborgs'; they're already old news. Sorry to tell you this, but you became obsolete in a gunfight thirty years ago!"

The salvo of grenades comes their way. Gideon still doesn't move. Fiona angles her riot armour to the side and shelters behind it from the scatter of anti-personnel explosives, bouncing them back a short distance before they explode and pepper the front line with shrapnel. Gideon makes a circular gesture with his finger and jerks his thumb backwards, and the shotgun and two SMG models rotate places, the latter two splitting left and right at a brisk walk, eyes glued to their sights, emptying another hundred rounds each as they go. Fiona falls back to Gideon, inserting a new stack of shells into an internal tube magazine, the cocking her weapon with the classic, patented Terminator levery flip.

"Apologies, Commander." "Don't worry about it, we're only going a short ways." Gideon begins walking, and the T-Doll smoothly moves with him, using both shields to keep him screened from bullets, and firing the disingenuous 'winchester' one-handed. "Krys!" Gideon calls. "I already read your mind." the Vector model says. Unhooking a chromed and black canister from her thigh webbing, she arms and hurls an incendiary grenade into the closest ARMED suit. Instead of spraying napalm or white phosphorous or something howevery, it blows up like a fat stack of C4, spewing some molten, furiously substance all over every surface as if incidentally.
Kotone Yamakawa Razel goes down but not in a way no one normally should even with the reduction of hostiles the two ARMED suit pilots do not cheer they do not cheer at all. They are still under assault and it keeps going after them and the damage is piling up at this point. Twilight Sparkle and Staren and laying down the pain as she's launching one hell of a beam attack on the suits followed by Staren's own salvo of mini-missiles.

"Everyone wants something. It's Do or get done it's how the world IS!"

the explosion blanket the two suits staggering them more even as Alexis own weapons fire hoses into them adding to the damage. Then comes a very angry alien mouse who is now adding to the pain given she's close to the size of the ARMED suits this could pose an issue for them. With a massive iron bar, it hits denting the machine doing a good deal of damage finally warping the weakened armour.

Alexis The elder is still at her with her partner and the Pokemon's howl of Darkness unleashes forces that do not exist on this world which do even worse things to the suits and they are not looking very good at all. Lin meanwhile is still brawling she is not blown in half and she's still going.

"A sword? You're using a Swo...."

He doesn't get to finish as Lin just caves into the machine with her strange sword actually exposing the internals. Gideon keeps talking at the pair and between the weapons fire and now the flaming weapon? The suits are burning some of the surrounding area about the suits are burning too.

The more talkative of the pair is caught in this and starts screaming as heat levels in his suit spike and then other systems start to fail it topples over crashing to the ground a burning wreck, if the pilot is dead or not? it's hard to tell ARMED suits pilot compartment are armoured quite well.

"... This ain't worth it."

Comes the second pilot it seems he's been thinking about what everyone's been shouting at him. Maybe also the fear of death by /fire/ is a thing that's poking his lizard part of this brain. Hi's own suit is savaged.

"I surrender."

The suit starts to power down now and throws it's weapon away which is a weapon pod. It seems the second one is slightly smarter than the one who's in flames he might live if someone bothers to pull him out. The other one is slowly kneelins his machine down.

"What, what are you people..."
Staren     "And what some of us want to Do is to help people!" Staren retorts, preparing to fight a long, hit-and-run battle... but one mech does down (Staren winces. It's burning!) and then the other finally surrenders. Staren rushes to the burning machine, pointing out for Twilight where she can best apply telekinetic force to work on getting the cockpit open.

"I told you, we're here to help. It's not like we're necessarily completely selfless -- there may be opportunity on this island -- but people have been living here with no utilities and dealing with old autowars long enough. Sorry we didn't come sooner, but... oh, I guess you wouldn't have heard. We're from other worlds! other dimensions. So we didn't know about the situation with this island before."
Leyanne Leyanne is still /really/ angry. But... burning to death is not a good way to die, for anyone. So she puts her anger to use, rolling the downed mecha on its back, even as Staren moves to work on the flames. She stares into the cockpit for a moment with a growl, looking back at Staren for a moment. "I got it." She growls, punching at the hatch surround with her left hand until she's just /beaten/ a handhold into it. Then the big mouse tenses, applying the full strength of her brute force and ignorance. Even her biological muscles get involved. She starts to snarl, a squeal of tortured metal audible. It's not clear what's going to give first - the hatch or the mouse's arm... until suddenly with that resonant PING of shearing lock pins, the hatch gives way.

"Get him out!" she barks to Twilight
Leyanne Leyanne adds, looking over at the surrendered guy. "I'm a Martian."
Alexis There's a hint of brimstone in the air. Mostly due to the smoke hissing between the Houndoom's fangs as he's likely readying another attack. Which isn't going to be necessary as the pilots, or at least one of them, wises up. Alexis shakes her head, and Howlback stands down, though the hellish smoke takes it's time in dispersing from his muzzle.

At the questioning she just shrugs a little after brushing herself off. "Good at what we do, that's what." She pauses a moment, then rolls a shoulder. "Suppose we should keep the thing from setting the rest of the place ablaze, huh?" She plucks a second pokeball from her strap and lobs it towards the burning machine to release her Buizel. A good Fire trainer keeps a Water type or two on hand, just to avoid 'accidental' blazes. "Put that thing out. Who knows what junk is around here that might be flammable." The water otter bobs his head in responce, and starts spouting water around the burning machine with Water Sport, which greatly dampens fires ability to burn.
Alexis Maaka     "Mercenary." Maaka says, reloading her Seburo's magazine and her grenade launcher. She keeps her weapon trained on the remaining suit, but her finger's off the trigger. "Get out of the suit, hands where we can see 'em." She says, otherwise completely uninterested in continuing this firefight.
Gideon Kaspar     Because Leyanne asked at one point over the radio if Gideon sells guns, he makes the walk all the way over to her, during the firefight, with his personal T-Doll bodyguard blasting away the entire time, so he can reach under his coat and get out an embossed business card from the brest pocket of his suit, handing over a name and number alongside the G&K logo, the initials I.O.P, and 'Griffin and Kryuger Military Contractor and Security Consultancy Services'. "Call when you have an idea. If Kalina picks up, tell her she won't see a red cent until you're put on the line with me."

The other two T-Dolls are partway through blasting another hundred small holes through the slagged and toppling powered suits when one of the men makes the move to halt and surrender. "Commander, we have a situation." calls Krys, keeping her gun trained on the man from the powered down suit, but motioning him to look. "Hm?" is about the most interest Gideon shows. "The enemy is surrendering." "So what if they are? There's no room for him on the transport, and there's nobody who would pay a bail or recovery fee for a common bandit. Just kill him." "Hah! Just like you ordered then!" says Umbra, pulling the charging handle on for her fresh magazine. "Commander. If the criminal elements here are already known, there is a possibility these men may have a bounty out for them." "Hmmm, that's a fair point I guess. Run a search on American wanted lists in the past four years. If they show up for anything less than five thousand, /then/ kill them." "Aw come on Fi."

Krys turns to the man she's still holding at gunpoint while Fiona searches. "If I might ask, what are you doing here? This isn't a place for people to be living. The lights might work, but what kind of plan would you have for a whole power plant like this? Do you have any friends here? It's best that you tell us now, before the army comes in and cleans up. You're not wrong; they certainly don't care about whoever is squatting on their property. That's how governments are."

Gideon, meanwhile, is fiddling with the assault rifle he found in the locker. "C26A? Is that a Colt Canada series? I'd have thought the Americans would have stuck with the M4 modular platform at least a /little/ longer. Cretins."
Lin     As usual, fights alongside fellows are so chaotic that Lin daren't risk getting too close to her enemies too often. Hence the distance-slash that defies all sensibility! As the great machines power down though, their occupants giving up the fight... she twirls the blade a few times and then extinguishes it with a simple act of will. The blade sputters out... though she's still glowing faintly with a golden-white film of energy, with a sunburst mark upon her brow.

"Ugh. What I 'am' is too complicated..." And hard to explain. And she's not even sure she wants to. Especially when there's a MACHINE IN FLAMES.

Really, she ain't keeno n the idea of such awesome pieces of engineering BURNING TO BITS. Especially not with people inside them. So she rushes over to the burning suit, helping the effort to get the pilot free!
Orchid      Orchid, (who probably seems like a fancy cyborg) is quick to let go of the urge to fight. Given that she rarely has ANY urge to fight, this is a relatively quick process. She leaps over to support Leyanne. At Gideon's words, she groans. "We don't need to shoot them or take them with us. It should be enough to disarm them. Besides, this is claimed by the American-Russian alliance, their laws hold."
Leyanne Leyanne looks to the one threatening murder.. "No." She says. "Ain't gonna let you just gun them down. That's murder, and I'm sorry dude but... no." She says, calmly. "Local laws apply here, let 'em get nicked and jailed."
Staren     Kaspar just casually orders some death. "Woah! Woah, hold on! We don't know what's going on at this place yet!" Staren interjects. When Leyanne says these guys need to be arrested and jailed, Staren opens his mouth to point out that this island is probably outside any jurisdictions, then thinks better of it.
Twilight Sparkle      Twilight blinks as she hears Kaspar and the T-Dolls, then moves to actually stand between them and the captured enemies. "What are you thinking?! I won't let you kill them, either! Turning them over to the authorities is one thing, but killing them is unacceptable!" She seems pretty angry at the very notion! "I don't know who you guys are, but I can't believe there is any land where such calous killing is acceptable!"
Kotone Yamakawa The guy pauses at Leyanne "but your not green or little..." He stops as Maaka orders him to get out of the suit and he's going to get out as Maaka demanded and having no idea Gideon's signed his death warrant if his bounty isn't worth five grand or more. He's cooperative too. The man thinks for a moment his boss ain't going to come to save his ass he might as well co-operate.

"Look I'm a tech for the Lagoon company, we moved in a while ago took over part of the old harbour and were using the power plant for that...I got intel that's worth my neck."

He then hears Gideon, and he pales.

Still he goes on. "The old warship in the harbour, it's going to be operational again soon."

Given inflation on this world the guy does have a bounty of about nine grand on him. The one pulled out of the burning suit is worth about twelve grand.

Kotone would pale at this behaviour if she could but she moves in to start stripping gear from the pair and moving to cuff them.

"We should get this information to Heller."
Gideon Kaspar     Gideon looks up from inspecting the bolt of the rifle as if someone had just seriously asked him if Santa is real. "Wait, what? War is sanctioned murder itself. A Colonel flew you out here with a gun in a VTOL and told you to 'secure the area'. Do you need an instruction pamphlet? One with pictures?"

His expression goes from '30 year old asked him about Santa' to 'paraplegic daughter said she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up' when additional opinions chime in. "Oh, go on and call 911. I'll wait. Two grand says that nobody picks up, because this is an extraterritorial operation, which means there are no 'local authorities'. Did you even read the dossier?" He then pulls out a personal tablet, tapping away at a touch keyboard as if scribbling away on a notepad. "For future reference though, you're saying it's completely fine for someone to attempt to kill you unprovoked, so long as they say they're sorry after? I don't mind so long as you're consistent about it."

"It looks like there are entries of nine and twelve thousand, Commander. Recent." Fiona interjects, having finished her search. "Well then, you're in luck!" Gideon suddenly proclaims. "It costs me fouteen cents to put a bullet in each of you, and makes me twenty one grand to make you someone else's problem! Minus expenses." "But Commander, you just said-" "I'll buy you an ice cream on the way back." "-okay, fine." "I'll have strawberry shortcake." The whole 'guns trained on the soon-to-be-executed prisoners act breaks down very quickly at payday. "You just had one yesterday!" "Commander . . ." "Oh /alright/."

He switches to his earpiece instead as Umbra begins gleefully rounding the captives up. "Get Helian on the line and have her send the helicopter back around. Make sure Ash didn't go anywhere; I need Maple Moon to scout out a ship in the harbour. Also, tell her not to be a baby, and the anti-air is already down." He starts walking away as if he's taking an important call.
