Tomoe Tomoe had brought up she was going shopping in SBC Glocken, it's a high tech place a landmass off the West Coast of America, and thankfully things haven't split off it beyond its borders like ALO, CCO and a certain space game have. Tomoe felt fairly at home here. The city was fairly populated and it really did look like some cyberpunk world though Tomoe herself is heading for a certain market where a large number of Aguma users tend to congregate many of which are people she knows from the Ballet of Bullets incident.

She was walking down the street not in the form of The Iron lily but she'd swapped skins to the appearance of her old GGO character Eisen Blumen. She whistled as she went in a decent mood as she peered into the various storefronts.
Staren     "This place is surprisingly crowded for a game zone... are all these people augma-users, or are most of them NPCs?" Staren asks, landing by Eisen Blumen's side. He's wearing a white cloak, and what with the cat ears and tail and the flying, looks like an out-of-place ALO avatar. "Is there anything to even buy here besides game gear?"
Orchid      One of the reasons Orchid is about the multiverse is, well, to get in some shopping. Something about the setting just fits with her, wearing her normal armor, but also the visor in front of her eyes. She likes exploring, so she invited herself along with Tomoe, only blinking a little as she takes in Eisen. "It's quite an amazing place, whoever is here," she comments. "Does it get much outsider traffic?" she asks, curious.
Tomoe Tomoe says "This district is a hang out for Aguma users. I'd bene meaning to check in with Dyne, Palerider and a few others. I been laying out the idea of some defence ideas if something big and nasty comes rolling in. They sell clothing, out of combat clothing and I happen to like the styles here some of it's staring to move to people who don't have Agumas." She grins "I tend to get my actual body's clothing here too. Most of it's local the US Army's been training enlisted Aguma users here too a member of the GU is actually incharge of the training."
Staren     Staren huhs. "Augma fashion? Well, I guess it makes sense that people would want to dress like the heroes defending the world... sometimes."

Staren looks around, then asks, a bit more solemnly, "...How's the world doing? I mean... are people winning most of the monster attacks, or...?"
Orchid      Orchid has been meaning to ask Tomoe about that 'actual body'. Just to suggest some introspection. "I do need some more out of combat clothing," she notes aloud. "And the locals seem well prepared for attacks," she says, looking around. "Or are the augma users tilting the balance to safe?"
Tomoe Tomoe says "Also it's pretty good clothing you know any kit from these parts of the world can be worn normally by anyone, right? For the most part yes, but still there's issues, people get killed. Some people run out screaming their own names and get dead real quick. We tend to but people don't like us. We have been blamed for this mess."

She pauses for a moment at a food vendor her eyes go wide and she'll rush over buy a bag of cookies and come back.

"Ahem, the worst thing to happen is the Dark Lady. Though that thing in orbit scares the hell out of me..."
Staren     Staren pushes his hood down and scratches his head. "Wait a minute. It's one thing when fantasy games give you fantastic sword skills and magic... but this game is just, like, guns and armor and stuff anyone can use. Does that mean militaries using this gear can fight monsters as well as augma users can? Sure, they won't see bullet lines, but militaries never needed those /before/..."
Orchid      Orchid nods. "Still, I do need a good bodysuit, if nothing else," she notes, looking around for a place that might sell stuff. "And I think she mentioned the military recruiting Augma users... how hard is it for soldiers to learn to use Augma?"
Tomoe Tomoe says "They are making use of it's not not open field monster it's the dungeons and when Cardinal makes up a quest of some sort that's when things get turvey. Yes they can and I'm pretty sure they are in testing for that thing but I can's confirm it." She'll offer cookies to both Satren and orchid.

"Well as you can see I know a good palce fot those here. "It's something you end up waking up with one morning, rather than producing them. All of us are moderate to hardcore VR mmorpg players or were depending. Come on you know I'm not right in the head I'm just not murderously so."
Staren     Staren elaborates, "I suspect that augmas only end up in the hands of people who heavily identify with their game character, maybe even more than their real life. Ooh, cookies!" Staren takes one to try.

"Dungeon crawling... mm, but GGO dungeons are successfully crawled by GGO characters, which are people with guns, right? Shouldn't a squad of trained soldiers outfitted with the right gear be able to handle it too? Hmm... maybe if their gear were bumped up a notch. Wear armor like I do, have everyone use a tacnet and drones for better tactical awareness..."
Orchid      Orchid will flip a cookie into her mouth. The way she eats is complex, and she can't eat as much as a human before filling up, but biological eating is pretty complex too. "I'm hoping for something that will resist flying metal chips, if I can get the machine shop equipment, but something that will flatter my figure wouldn't go amiss."
"And Staren has a point; just the drones for looking around hot corners can eliminate one of the best ways to walk into an ambush. Combine that with good armor, maybe remote guns... Cost in money goes up, cost in blood plummets."
Tomoe Tomoegrins for a moment "There are a few blades you know. I have a Bayoneet a collection of knives and a photon sabre. You forget how superhumanly durbakle we are Staren. We can take hits tha tmight cripple or kill someone else. You know the old meme? I still have one HP."

She comps a cookie.

"As for that they are likely making use of energy screens and the like. As for drones they are are in service. At least we have new options if something like an Exalted wanders in and tries to claim our world or starts killing us for being '/clay dolls/'"
Staren     Staren tilts his head. "Hmm... durability... light power armor would help. Also maybe cybernetics. Often the biggest cost for full cybernetic conversion is the power source -- you never know whether you'll be able to recharge in the field. But with monster attacks and dungeons? Cyborgs could use batteries with time to spare."
Orchid      Orchid snickers a little at the term 'clay doll,' given how it's been used in relationship to herself. "I think we may be taking things a bit too seriously," she comments, before pointing. "Let's try that store, it looks like it might have something suitable," she says. The indicated store has on display what look like high-tech jumpsuits.
Tomoe Tomoe puses "Right I was hpping to get something on top of the orders I made." She'll wander in "A lot of the suits have armour materials woven into them. THe biggest resource though is the balleship armour, that stuff is insane when it comes to protection but it's hard for infanry armoiur, there's a costly sniper nest shield made from the stuff."

She looks to STaren as she heads in. "Suitable that was terrible..."
Staren
Staren hehs and shrugs. "Suitable... GGO doesn't actually have strength-enhancing armor, does it? Maybe if we could get some of the material, it could be incorporated into a powered suit."

Staren frowns a bit. "I've noticed that, despite all his talk, Gilgamesh hasn't /actually/ begun culling worlds. I think maybe he's just frustrated that the world is so different from what it used to be. Well, not /just/, but that his talk of such things is more out of frustration than intent."
Orchid      Orchid chuckles at the response. The pun was something of an accident. "I don't know about armor, not for what I'm looking for," Orchid says. "My armor is comfy, but it takes some effort to clean properly. As for Gilgamesh..." She shakes her head. "The guy LOVES to hear himself talk. Be glad you don't have to listen to the debates of philosophy and political theory that he and Edison get into."
Staren     Staren chuckles. "Aw, that sounds wonderful actually! I seldom get to talk philosophy since Septette went quiet. Have you considered using cleaning nanomachines? I mean, my armor and bodysuit... I'm organic, so you think /you/ have it bad cleaning, I've got sweat and dead skin and skin oil and stuff..." He shrugs. "But, with nanomachines, cleaning's not really an issue. It's pretty great. I haven't ever had to deal with gross armor for... gosh, like six years now."

He looks to Orchid. "If you're not looking for armor, what are you here looking for? Guns?" He may not have been paying attention to whatever store they just walked into.
Tomoe Tomoe says "There's some." She notes shrugging for a bit "The properlies of stat boosts only work for Aguma users. The rest seems to work well enough. As for him it could be more of a yet. Anyway in the end 'we dolls' have the ultiamte way to deal with him, just forget him. Do you see me trying to kill him. Edison doesn't seemt so bad though I keep expecting bald eagles to appear when he gets going."

She now start looking over some of the suits she looks abou.

"We're in a clothing store, GGO has non combat clothing for when your in town, silly."
Orchid      "Recharging nanomachines can be tricky," Orchid says. "When I need a deep wash, I'll jump in... well, it used to be a dish washing machine. But I'd rather not let metal flakes get caught where I'd rather they didn't." She's looking through the stacks. "Maybe something in purple?" she muses. "Classic black would hide the oil stains better... Edison seems pretty cool, so long as you don't mention Tesla, or the virtues of Alternating Current. And if you mention the eagle thing to him, he might try for them next time he does his special attack thing."
Tomoe Tomoe looks to ORchid "Well mine's purple for the most part.: She grins a bit as she goes to check the displays looking at the holograms of the various suits they have for sale.

"That wouldn't shock me given their rivalry in liofe or so how the story goes."
Staren     Staren does give a short laugh as Orchid admits she jumps into a dishwasher to get clean.

And then he realizes he's walked into a clothing store. "Oh..." He glances around the men's section, not really having anything to comment on re: women's clothes.

"You'd think Edison would be happy. Computers are all DC and look how important they are now."
Orchid      "Alternating current still rules distribution, and the biggest electrical motors are three-phase AC," Orchid notes, holding up a bright red bodysuit, holding it against herself. "Thoughts on this one?" she asks... it might make her look like she needs orange hair.
Staren     Staren shrugs. "I hear red is an attention-getting color."
Tomoe Tomoe says "If youe willing to go carrot top it might work." She looks over to Staren. "I long used to being a ginger what can I say I'm pretty sure I have an soul though."
Orchid      Orchid chuckles, and puts it back. She frowns for a moment, then laughs at her radio. "Oh my. Only the fact that he may not actually be alive..." she says, while shaking her head. "I'll keep the red one in mind, but something maybe in a magenta could work."
Staren     "Maybe don't just wear a bodysuit. Wear stuff over it for a more complex outfit. More..." Staren waves his hands vaguely, "Fashion."
Tomoe Tomoe sats "just don't go all out with the pouches." Tomoe notes while she moves to pick up some gloves but the size don't quite match this form or The Iron Lily's oddly.
Orchid      Orchid chuckles, shifting around the store. "I do want a bodysuit at some point," she admits "But something with plenty of pockets should work for what I want." She pauses at one thing. "Hey Staren, this might fit you," she says, pulling out a white jumpsuit, with little armored plates around the shoudlers.
Staren     Staren hmms. "See, the problem is... it's got armor built in, but not in a very helpful place. And that's gonna make it hard to fit /under/ other things. If it's just for fashion... I dunno. I guess I haven't really thought about fashion much." He paces a bit, then his clothing sort of explodes into a cloud of threads and reshapes. The coat, pants, and boots now look more military-style, and the pants are black slacks instead of cargo. "I was once told this looked better. What do you think? Oh, whoops." The cloak wasn't part of the outfit that could do that; he takes it off and drapes it over his forearm.
Tomoe Tomoe rolls her eyes "This world partially runs on game logic at this point. Given up on it." The Clerk whose actually a player himself bursts out laughting at the argument about it. He goes back to tending to his stock though while Tomoe pauses for a moment and starts to look her friend over "Not too bad..."
