Yang Xiao Long     Yang chuckles merrily, having fired a flare outside of the arena, she's leaning on a wall, waiting for her opponent to arrive. Arms folded, her weapon collapsed into its bracelet form and a big, shiteating grin on her face as her lilac eyes scan the crowd.
Solomon Roget     A broad-shouldered man in armor of varying shades of blue is seen following the flare toward Yang. "Alright, I don't care /that/ much about the puns. Any excuse to spar, though... not sure if we've properly met yet though. Name's Solomon." He pauses to size up the rather young-looking blonde, then raises an eyebrow. "So THIS is who's been fighting anyone who shows up? I'm a bit skeptical, but whatever. You wanna swing first, or should I?" He's taking this pretty casually.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang looks the guy up and down, pushing off the wall and beckoning into the arena proper before anything else. "Yeah, I'm Yang... and y'know what they say about books and covers." she chirps, looking the guy up and down before stopping in the middle of a big, flat battleground a few good paces away from the armoured guy. "I guess I'll take first swing, since you're being so casual about this."

Yang assumes her stance, the bracelets on her wrists unfolding along her arms with a series of mechanical swishes and clanks as the mechanisms unfold from their Gravity-dust induced miniaturisation. Once they're fully out, she kicks forward, firing the gun built into the gauntlets to propel her faster with twin bursts of kinetic force. As she flies forward, her right arm swings around to level a heavy overarm punch into Solomon's center of mass!
Tomoe Tomoe had come to see this fight, the Salamander was here in casual clothing of a modern sort, jacket jeans, shoes, and her jacket had the GU logo on it. She'll stand just outside the arena and watch with great interest on this fight. She's been curious about Solomon and Yang? Well it's getting to watch a legit Wuxia movie for real when one sees her fight.
Solomon Roget     Solomon follows Yang in to the simple battleground, not quite sure he should expect a lot from such an opponent. It shows in his opening defense - when Yang launches her punch at his midsection, he just shifts his body over slightly and eats most of the punch head-on. The momentum knocks him back, to boot, but any element of surprise Yang may have had quickly evaporates - Solomon draws his crossbow and notches a bolt as he tries to stop his backslide long enough to fire a solid shot.
Yang Xiao Long     The problem with headlong rushes, is that they leave one open to counter attack if the first strike isn't strong enough to disable the opponent. That shows when she stumbles forwards from the momentum of her strike, and eats the crossbow bolt right in her shoulder, a golden flare of Aura pushing the bolt aside so it strikes through the flesh instead of hitting the bone and getting stuck, but damn that took a lot of her reserve.

Blood seeps out of the deep gash in her arm, trickling down and dripping from her fingers as she holds it for a moment. "Okay, ow..." she comments deadpan, then pushes through the pain and sets herself again. "Still think I'm all talk?" she asks, racking the slides on her gauntlets as they adjust slightly, loading a second row of shells into the chamber.

She then punches forwards, well out of range, except she's throwing explosive bolts from the barrels over her index knuckles, staggered shots as she swings one fist, then the other! The bolts explode like grenades on impact.
Solomon Roget     The duelist's armor, combined with the blunt rather than piercing attacks from his opponent, mean that Solomon's not showing outward signs of getting hit. Plus, his special enchanted bolts let him heal off the damage he deals. Still, the fact that his modus operandi is almost always "eat the entire attack" means the concussive blows stack up. And when Yang throws a punch from /really far away/... Solomon just decides to show her what a real attack is like--and then Yang's punch connects. Or rather the bolts /from/ her fists. It's a really good thing he's armored.

The blow doesn't actually stop his attack, though. At least not the raw power. He summons forth a massive rock and chucks it at Yang -- oomphing it forward with more power than accuracy, since her surprise shotgun blast knocked him off balance. He does throw out a witty comeback though. "Okay so you can do damage. You're still mostly talk though!" And then he flashes a smile. Hoo boy.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang sees the armoured guy stagger, but also that he's summoned a rock to throw at her! "A rock? Who throws a ro---" She brings her arms up to defend, focussing her Aura into her arms to absorb the brunt of the impact, but the size and power of the attack sends her skidding backwards, digging furrows in the ground. She staggers a bit after the rock finally shatters when she flares her Aura and uncrosses her arms, sending debris scattering around her... "Alright, warm-up's over." she says, her grin taking a malicious bent, and her eyes shifting from lilac to red between blinks. Her hair starts to billow a bit, and seems to be aflame, motes of light spalling from the golden strands occasionally, like embers.

She kicks forward again, her speed... no, her enhanced strength pushing her as fast as her shotgun boosted charge earlier, but she doesn't go in from the front.

Instead, she fires a blast to send her sideways at the last moment, spinning around to bring a roundhouse kick into Solomon's back, using her metal heel of her boot to try and dent the armour!
Tomoe Tomoe watches the fight go back anc forth and it's getting pretty damn heacy as Solomon is proving he has some money to put where his mouth it givne he's actually seems to be pressing Yang fairly hard at the moment.
Solomon Roget     Huh. So the kid /does/ have some untapped power. And some speed to go with it. The tactical side-step catches Solomon completely off-guard, again, and it's only his quick reaction after the fact that keeps the fight from shifting against him. After Yang smashes her leg into his back, Solomon tucks and rolls with the momentum to avoid eating dirt with his face. "Pfeh. Is that all you got?" By now it's abundantly clear that Solomon's just taunting Yang at this point to try to provoke her. To provoke a Berserker.

There's something to be said for steady pacing though. Solomon gets up, conjures up another magically-summoned rock, and launches it. Really hard. Again. Hey, the last one worked so well, why not an encore?
Yang Xiao Long     Yang lands from the kick, then has to bring up her arms to defend again. She takes that rock head on once more, and skids back again. This time though, she's grabbing the rock instead of just using Aura to tank it... could she be out of energy? Probably. She skids to a stop, setting the rock down and dropping to a knee, panting hard from the exertion. "Heh, you're not too bad. This is a hell of a workout." she comments, then hoists the rock up and HURLS it back! "YOU DROPPED THIS!"
Solomon Roget     A massive grin crosses Solomon's face. Yesss. YES! This is getting GOOD! He's actually ready for this attack, and steels himself for the Return of the Boulder. Yang hurls the boulder. Solomon catches it. With his teeth. The good news is that his initial enchanted bolt is still gradually siphoning health from Yang. The bad news is this only keeps his teeth and face intact. The boulder's impact pounds Solomon just as hard as every other attack Yang's thrown out so far. But, he caught the boulder.

And thus, he throws it back. There's extra boulder this time, courtesy of the duelist's magic skils enlarging it mid-flight. And despite its size, the boulder's thrown /harder/ than last time, AND with notably better aim! The effort takes a visible toll on Solomon, though, as he starts panting extremely heavily after the return volley.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang watches, then as the Boulder is once again thrown back her way, she levers back. "Time it right... c'mon.... and..." She hurls a punch at the rock, shattering it before it hits, though the force of the impact showers her with debris, and the sheer size of the boulder against her fist sends a shock through her arm, dropping her to a knee again.

Blood seeps from multiple cuts across her body, and her left arm sags down, limp and useless... "Not bad... but now I'm pissed." she announces, forcing herself back up to her feet and launching in a straight, full-body tackle, using all the remaining strength in her body, bolstered by the energy she's absorbed through her Semblance.
Solomon Roget     A wave of panic crashes over Solomon as his finishing move DIDN'T FINISH THE FIGHT. With an extremely pissed Yang charging him down full-throttle, he reflexively tries to move himself out of the way rather than take yet another battering. And despite his extremely heavy armor, he manages to get away from the brunt of Yang's last-ditch effort. She manages to clip the side of his shoulder, sending him spinning toward the ground for a hard landing... but not hard enough. Solomon struggles mightily, picks himself up, and gets ready for one last stand -- then stops when he sees he's actually /won/. "Ngh... okay you really know how to... hit... but you take... you hurt yourself with that tackle." He'd offer a helping hand to Yang, but he kind of needs that for himself right now...
Yang Xiao Long     Yang's spent, and she hits the ground with all the momentum she built up. She digs a furrow with her face, before the arena does its 'reset' and she's not quite as broken as she was. She picks herself up shakily, wincing at just how sore she is, then starts laughing. It's genuine, jovial and full of joi de vive. "Maaaan, that was a good fight." she says, rolling over onto her back and just laughing at the ceiling, sprawled out and exhausted. "Yeah, when I get angry, I kinda stop caring about my own safety." she comments to Solomon nonchalantly. "They call me a Berserker... I guess it fits."
Solomon Roget     Solomon's also spent. Adrenaline subsiding, he too collapses onto his back and starts laughing right along with Yang. "Oh man, it feels SO good to have a close match like that." He too is enjoying himself. "You're not the kind of berserker I'm used to from my world... those dicks can't take a hit worth a damn so they ambush you and dump everything they got at once. I /hated/ them, especially since they couldn't actually kill anyone that way." He's not really thinking too much about letting the word 'kill' slip.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang's chuckles continue to bubble, "I guess I got tempered by my homeworld. Can't go around throwing everything out the window in the first strike when fighting Grimm. They don't let you rest once they have your scent." she remarks, the chuckles bubbling down and finally stopping.
Tomoe Tomoe says "Got to admit that was something to behild as I said with both of you fighting and I can confirm about the Grimm. I'm glad they got nowhere near the near mine when I first unified." She note with a half grin on her face. "Also good to meet you in person Solomon. I have been curious about you for a while."
Solomon Roget     "OH!" A thought comes to Solomon's mind. "I've been meaning to ask some of you for a while now, but what do you know of these clans--er, I guess you call them 'factions', that span multiple worlds? I've been considering joining one and wanna know what I'm getting for it."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang remains silent on the talk of factions. "You should ask someone else... but, I'll give you a pointer if y'want." she says, sitting up and pulling a slip of paper out of her pocket. "You know how to use a computer? The internet?" she asks, looking over at Solomon.
Solomon Roget     "What's a computer? And an Internet?" Solomon looks and sounds confused. "I have a commorb for talking to people with..." He pulls out a glass orb and holds it out for Yang to see.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang puts the paper away again. "Heh, nevermind. It'd take too long to explain." she replies, eying the orb curiously regardless. "Anyway, I think we're overtime... wanna go grab something to eat?"
Solomon Roget     "Sounds good. I'm starving." Solomon takes Yang up on her offer of food, and follows her lead to presumably food.
