Count Kord     -The Islands of Bugen-

Whether by ship, air or otherwise, everyone can tell that something is very wrong here. The ocean is frozen over, stretching out into the horizon. Spikes of ice stand menacingly in the distance, like a vast white desert. Cold wind blows over the surface of the ice, and a Gyarados can be seen literally frozen like a statue in the very distance, in mid-roar. And what makes this even stranger is that there isn't a cloud in the sky. The sun beats down and reflects off the ice, but can't melt a single bit of it. Somewhere, at the epicenter of this freeze, is a threat that needs to be destroyed, before the ecology of the area is irreparably damaged, before untold amounts of humans and Pokemon die from the temperature change. This is an emergency.

Kord sits briefly on the shore of one of Bugen's islands, watching slushy chunks of ice wash up onto the sand. He stares out into the distance, squinting. "A bold move," he muses aloud. "Well... The war is on, then."

He takes to the air, and flies toward the source of this horror. It's miles out into the ocean, atop a vast platform of solid ice. The golem stands, made of translucent blue ice, with eyes that glow in the pit of its being, and a glowing core of energy at the center of its mass. It sits, pouring its lethal power into the world, converting the energy of the leyline it sits on top of to kill or convert the local wildlife. All around it, men and women stand, holding spears and swords, ready to defend their master to the death. Hollowed soldiers, with pale skin and blue eyes, having discarded any semblance of humanity now that subtlety will no longer protect them. A horrifying sight can be seen nearby, a circle of frozen blood with something at its center:

Lugia, lord of the currents, lays still atop the ice, skewered by a massive spike of crystal. It's unclear if the ancient legendary is alive or dead.

It is very cold here. One way or another, if someone doesn't have protection against it, the cold will sap strength and burn flesh. This is a Regi at full strength and fury.
Mortimer Balman      Floating just across the surface of the water, breaking through the occasional ice chunk- Reder scouts out what he can both ahead of the group and below the waves they journey across. While he does not care for this degree of intense cold, he can withstand it readily; and thus he'll return to his Sergeant to report his findings. Which aren't many or all that well detailed, the cold is just too intense for him to get close enough to provide any kind of decent, actionable intelligence. But he did see Lugia.. And that is most perturbing to the old Typhlosion and his companions.

After climbing back aboard Mortimer's rented ship, and providing reports, Mort will bid the old tortle to stand behind. The glaciers are rapidly becoming too thick for them to break through. Reder needs time to warm back up, and Switchbait must stay there to make sure he doesn't have hypothermia.

After 'docking' to one of the larger glacial ice plates, Mort's colossal wolf will gingerly step off first and let anyone who had come with old Morty to ride on his back. The Thunderwolf seems completely fine with these absurdly cold temperatures- Fenris is a frozen death world, after all. Once all passengers are loaded, or at least his master is, the hulking beast begins carefully trotting toward the ever-increasing cold. Toward what may well be their bitter deaths, if Mort's fears regarding the nature of Regiice aren't unfounded.

Mort himself will be plenty warm, being on fire and all that. But he looks visibly concerned at Lugia being there, skewered on the ice. "...To you, o Mother of Life, I sent my pleas. To you did I cry for Mercy from the cold.." Sounds like some sort of prayer.
Theurgus     An emergency, in the world of Kord and his people. This cannot go unanswered!

"Grimoire, I leave you in charge. Arcana, with me." says Theurgus as she steps out of the Cathoderal. "Crystals at the ready, but we will be using the Relay until we get into combat." she adds to her protege as the pair transform, move to the System Bus, then out through the Cable Rail into the local Warp Gate.

Emerging at the clostest gate to the crisis point, the pair shiver as cold wind blasts at them. "A good thing we brought our Ice Processors... this will have to be ended quickly though." says Arcana, wings flaring as the crystals set into the chrome spans flare against the cold, shining a blue-white.

The Diamond Drive Core Controllers roll around one another, coming up near to Kord. "I hope we have further aid coming... the last one was only just waking up... and we barely managed to defeat it." says Theurgus, pulling a shimmering crystal from her Inventory, as she dismisses the silvery spike on her other hand. She crushes it against her chest, as Arcana does the same.

The pair then begin to chant in unison, one bringing a staff up, while the other tosses cards that flicker with orange-red light forward, arranging in a diagonal line before her. "Ye Lords. Masked in Bits and Code, All creation, a flutter of wings. Ye who bear the name of Program. Upon a wall of blue flame, inscribe a twinned lotus. In an abyss of Conflagration, await in the far Source. CONFLAGATION DUST!"

With that, a spell circle scribes before Theurgus, while Arcana slashes through her cards. Twin gouts of hellfire erupt from the magic users, aimed directly for RegiIce.
Bahamut      Bahamut arrives at the islands moments after Kord takes to the sky. He smirks lightly at seeing the draconic bird in the distance, then starts toward the source of the cold himself. Frost quickly forms on his metallic hide and he growls deeply at the chilling pain that soon follows. He reaches up to poke a claw where his ear would be were he human, then rumbles out, "Send the Fahrenheit to my location. The cold is piercing, and we will likely need a place to warm up quickly."

Ice is already forming on him as he flies rapidly toward the Regice, and the big dragon starts using fire magic on himself to keep himself defrosted. He shoots the Firaga spells just in front of himself so that he flies through the resulting fireball, melting at least the ice on himself. But, rather than proceed right to Regice, he turns as he notices Lugia. He growls heavily at seeing the majestic creature impales so calously and lands on the ice beside it. "...are you alive, noble creature?" he asks it, even going so far as to place a hand on its side. "If so...return to us. We may yet need your aid, and a dragon such as yourself should not be allowed to fall to a fiend such as this."

Bahamut moves to try and support Lugia's weight on himself, then swings his powerful tail to try and shatter the ice spike that has impaled the poor creature. Whether that works or not, he reaches to take a small bottle from a cleverly hidden container strapped around his waist, then holds it over Lugia's head. "If there is any life left in you, this should return you to us." he says before dropping the glass bottle. It is obviously some kind of potion. In this case, an X-potion. Able to heal even the most grevious of injuries so long as the target is still alive.

Whatever the result of his efforts, Bahamut has to leave Lugia after that. There is a more pressing need. He does speak on his radio again, though. "When you get here, there is a pure white creature with dark blue spines on the ice. Retrieve it." Then his wings spread and he continues on to Regice.
Krusty     There's a glint in the sky as the light of the sun reflects off something metalic. Shortly after Krusty comes into view, decked out in his heavy armor as he streaks atop a griffin down towards the island of ice. After hearing word of something unusual happening, the bored knight's interest is perked.

Krusty pulls on the reins of the mythical creature at the last moment, commanding the griffin to pull up and beat its wings furiously before touching down gracefully on the ice. Krusty dismounts, carefully landing on the frozen water. The effects of the cold are quickly noticeable to him as he sees the cloud of ice crystals forming from his breath. The cold is biting, easily penetrating his armour and himself.

In Krusty's view, he sees an icon shaped like a snowflake appear beneath his health bar. And said bar begins to slowly tick down. That makes things more difficult.

    Good.

Krusty pats the large lionbird, causing it to launch itself into the air once more and fly away. Krusty maintains his cool composure as he walks towards the large ice golem that appears to be the source of the cold. On the way he joins up with others responding to the emergency, asking, "I don't suppose any of you have information on this creature, its abilities or weaknesses? I would prefer to not charge in without some idea of what I'm up against. Apart from the obvious." Ice.

While Krusty does not immediately engage the golem, waiting to hear what others have to say, he does reach up to his back to grab the large two-handed axe held there.
Note     One might just barely make out a streak of white tearing across the heavens, a little person-sized sparking meteor leaving a long trail of swiftly-dissipating whitish light. It comes in with jet-like speeds... and at several kilometers out from the archipelago's, the light fluctuate-flashes and from then on is a golden streak in the skies, pushing even faster, and slightly bigger and brighter.

It is, of course, the little martial artist, Note, who's bundled up in a a thick kid's pink parka-jacket pulled from her Capsule storage box, with black leggings and snow boots completing the attire.

This cold is something else. It's actually why she transformed so early on. The blazing rush of her own Ki pushing outwards disrupts the blizzard-cold winds and beats off the worst of the wind chill. But even then, her breath turns instantly to steam and frosts over as she brakes in midair to survey the islands and the situation about. "That energy... feels like..." In no time at all, Note swoops DOOOOOWN.

Mortimer and his gang will easily her the roar of Ki-powered flight a good fifteen seconds or so before Note slows down and pulls up above the dashing wolf and his burning passenger, getting within about five feet if nobody shoos her off! And why?

Because it's SO much warmer near a guy who's ON FIRE!

    "Th-e bi...big b-b-b-b-bird's alive. Hurt p-p-rett-yyyy b-b-badly... But I can f-feel them! Th-thiis c-cold though... gonna be a hard b-b-battle!"
Staren     A metal bird, no, plane flies through Bayern's sky for the second time. Something very bad is here -- Staren's bringing the big guns and fast transport, as he doesn't have a good way to get around in the water -- but it turns out 'water' isn't really the terrain here, but ice.

On the outskirts of the effect, there is no problem. The war machine is built to withstand even the harshness of space and provide the pilot with a sealed, climate-controlled environment. As he flies closer, though, Staren begins to see temperature alarms on his HUD. It's an alarm he doesn't see often -- On cold, airless space rocks exposure is limited to contact surfaces. But this is cold with AIR, sucking away heat by convection. Also it's probably magic.

Staren comes in for a landing on the ice as far away from RegiIce as his sensors can still get a clear reading from. Hopefully it's far enough to avoid the worst of the cold -- if not, he'll have to come up with another plan. Right now, though...

The right shoulder pack unfolds into a massive sniper-rifle looking thing, longer even than the Star Hawk is tall. It's shoulder-mounted but has a foregrip, which the mecha's giant hand grabs. Staren lines up the reticle with RegiIce. With both of them still, it's not hard. Does RegiIce not know he's a threat from this far away? Well, it will soon.

The Star Hawk stores away a sizeable chunk of everything its nuclear reactor is producing for a few seconds, then converts it all at once into kinetic energy. Pylons dig into the ice to stabilize the Star Hawk, thrusters on the mech's back and on the weapon's barrel prevent knockback and muzzle climb, magic infuses the projectile to make it strike true, and in what seems like an instant, where one moment there was clear air, now there's a horizontal pillar of fire as the air itself is ignited by friction, connecting the muzzle of the gun to, hopefully, RegiIce.

Whatever the projectile hits, nanoseconds after, magical energies of fire and water inside mix and detonate in an explosion of magical steam!

And then there's a sonic BOOM across the battlefield. Staren watches to see what happens next.
Axel It's too cold. Stepping out of the nearest warpgate and making his way towards the frozen island, quickly and agilely, Axel is wearing his thick black coat, which helps a little, but he can feel the cold reach his bone in exposed areas. It's not fun. The Nobody tells himself he'll only be here as long as he can handle it - he'll retreat through a Corridor when it becomes too much.

Pulling his hood over his head, which helps obscure his features, Axel summons his pair of red and silver chakrams, held in each hand by the cross in the center. He sees the moving fire badger. He sees that he's on fire. As Axel shivers...

He snaps his fingers and lights himself on fire. Much better - he can't feel the cold over the heat any more, even if the rest of the Organization might frown at him abusing his poor coat like that, and he has to keep himself burning hot to do it.

And so, the flaming Nobody moves to engage in combat. He juggles the chakrams, and as he does so, he grabs them and gestures outwards towards the minions protecting their massive icy overlord. Rays of fire suddenly begin to generate, and they shoot out of the ground, moving to burn into the hollowed soldiers and hopefully incinerate some of them.

To everyone else nearby, Axel sighs. "Aren't you going to fight? Come on, don't leave me hanging."
Mortimer Balman      As Regice comes into view, Mortimer hops off of the great thunderwolf and motions for him and Note to move. Across local radio bands- "If you need warmth, cling to Ulbrecht- the huge wolf. His coat help warm you a bit. Take cover as you need to!" He weaves his hands around in the air, as though tracing a pattern. Icicles form in mid-air and begin glowing a hazy blue. An incantation of some sort is muttered but his radio's set too low to be heard that well. After a moment of gathering magical energies into his hands, he slams his fists into the ice..

And moments later, some sections of the ice erupt with no real warning into spikes of lava rushing up from deep below the ocean. But.. The cold is so intense that they freeze within only a couple of seconds, creating towering spires of frozen obsidian. A convient thing for people to hide behind as needed.
Count Kord     Lugia lifts his head, shakily looking to Bahamut. He accepts the X-Potion, but he's not in any state to participate in the fight. The most it can do is allow him to retreat, giving him the chance to spread his wings and take to the open sky. He's making distance quickly, because he really doesn't want to get hit by another of those spikes. It would not be a fun time for him in the slightest.

Several combatants open fire. Quite literally, in some cases. Axel obliterates the minions, who weren't prepared for a proper fire blast. Regice slides on the ice when struck, and its surface glows with the impacts of the flames. Beams of heat lance into it, and then Staren's shot soars across the battlefield and shatters ice outward in a big shockwave. The platform of ice crackles and breaks, and great pillars of sea spray shoot up into the air. Ice grinds and crackles, and Regice's arm glows from the impact of Staren's attack, steam pouring off of its body. And then it sweeps its unattached arm and brushes away the steam, which freezes into ice crystals that fall like glittering snow.

A beam of red and black falls onto the core of its body, from Kord, firing all of his might into the center of its mass at once. It seems to just... tank it. Right to the face. Ice is blown apart, water is thrown up, and grooves form along its crystalline form. It just completely fails to care. Then, it fires back at Kord, with a beam of pure blue light. As it does so, energy emits out in a shockwave around it, blasting an Icy Wind at everyone else in the battlefield. It's like being stabbed by needles of cold, and it's so bitterly frosty that the shattered sea ice refreezes in seconds.
Note     Note swoops down the rest of the way, straddling the Thunderwolf's back behind Mortimer. It's a bit of a bumpy ride, but without having to fly, she can save a lot of energy. Which is good...

Because up ahead, there's those awful empty-feeling soldiers in their way.

As soon as the giant rock spires solidify though, Note leaps from Ulbrecht's back and somersaults atop one of them, somehow managing a dainty landing on one foot.

"How about you guys... get out of our way!"

The youth thrusts both hands out, palms forward and fingers spread. Confidence builds on her face... and in her palms, light gleams and builds. Little orbs of blue-white energy that start as little sparks, grow to the size of softballs and--

BZEEEEEEW!!! She shoots them off again and again, bombarding the soldiers ahead with a steady stream of sniping Ki blasts!
Theurgus     Theurgus and Arcana erect barriers of interlocking hexagons, and attempt to move behind the cover provided by Mortimer's lava spikes... but neither are quick enough, and damaged code sprays from them as the icy wind needles at their bodies. They grunt, and get knocked out of the air, slamming into the ice pretty hard. The two stand after only a moment, lifting back into the air. "Split up, lets make sure it can't take us both out at once." says Arcana, gesturing to the left. "I'll go left, you go right, we'll pincer it in the middle and support the others."

Theurgus nods, and sets off, the pair streaking away from one another on contrails of prismatic light.

The pair start to unload bolts of flaming energy, either from the head of a staff, or from slashes of a sword, trying to disrupt the target and split its attention from other sources of incoming fire.
Bahamut      Bahamut can hardly blame Lugia for retreating, and a slight smirk shows his lack of animosity at the decision. "I have an airship coming if you need a place to land and warm up." he says. And as if on cue the majestic airship Fahrenheit appears on the horizon and quickly closes in. The cold is too bitter even for it to get too close so it stops at the islands, but it does provide a warm safehaven for any that need it. It is even designed to hold larger creatures like Bahamut or Lugia.

As soon as he is in range, Bahamut holds out a clawed hand and launches a fire spell at the ice titan. "I do not know why you are doing this, but you have bitten off more than you can chew. We will not allow you to endanger these seas or these islands any further!" The Firaga spell explodes against Regice like a firebomb, but Bahamut has to spare a little fire magic for himself after that to keep himself from freezing in the process.
Krusty     It seems no one else has any idea what they're up against. Not the most ideal situation. Krusty will just have to make do.

As the blast of icy wind washes over the field, Krusty digs his armored boots into the ground and leans into it. Shielding his face with an arm, he tanks the wind until it passes, ice crystals quickly forming on him.

Once the majority of the rush has passed, Krusty begins moving fast in the direction of the large golem. The smaller adds, some form of ice undead or similar, are left to the others as Krusty focuses his efforts on the boss. Krusty's initial strike against the Regice is simple as he swings his large axe at one of its legs, with all the Adveturer strength he can muster in this freezing landscape. Knocking the creature over would be the best result. But Krusty will settle for gauging its defenses against his strikes.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer barely manages to get behind one of his own frozen columns, but he's still hit fairly solidly by that icy blast. Brrr.. Damn, that's cold. Even for him! No matter. "Ulbrecht! Hide! Grab anyone who falls and get them out of reach!" The beast howls a response and dives behind the largest, farthest column from the Regi. And then Mort goes into play..

The metal bands on his boots crunch into the ice a bit as he runs, giving him a bit more traction. On sheer force of flame and will he pushes through the cold winds and gracefully weaves around the hollow soldiers that seem either bound or otherwise enslaved to the ancient titan, and then he starts running up its arm. "We meet again, for the first time!" His whole body seems to burst into flames, jumping at Regice's face from halfway up its arm and spinning like a top. One foot reaches out to kick the Regi across its 'eyes', a booted foot coated in atrociously hot wraithfire. Once he sails past its face, unless it can grab him midair, he'll start trying to land on one of the soldiers and then roll under the titan to line up his next attack.

Each movement is carefully measured and controlled, to waste as little energy as possible. He's burning a lot of it up, right now.
Axel The minions burn. Axel doesn't get too cocky, yet. This thing is, as he thought, huge. The pyromancer digs his feet into the ground as the icy wind is blasted forward, and while he doesn't get knocked off his feet, he doesn't have to. Even through his flames, this is freezing cold. It puts out the fire on his coat, and causes him to shiver in pain. With his chakrams in hand, Axel has to force himself to wreathe them in flame, using the heat from that to warm himself. Was this really worth it? Why was he doing this, again?

Oh, right. Because it's his job...and he has to make good impressions on his allies.

Axel throws the chakrams in Regice's direction, moving to try and see how solid that ice is and how much he can carve through it. The powerful chakrams move to grind into it, wreathed in fire, and try and burn into the legs or lower 'torso' of the giant titan if it can. If this isn't enough to really damage it, Axel snaps his fingers and joins it up with a massive orb of fire around the chakrams, staying mobile as he fights to keep warm.
Staren     A hit!

Well, it certainly DAMAGED RegiIce, but it doesn't look like it was nearly enough to care. Damn. And Kord's in trouble, but Mort's there...

A blast of cold and ice washes over the mecha. The Anti-Wireless rifle folds back up, at least in these conditions Staren doesn't need to worry about cooling it! The Star Hawk crouches to minimize its profile and raises its shield, mitigating the damage as much of the ice needles hit the shield with minimal effectiveness. But elsewhere they scrape away armor and metal begins to creak under stress.

He's... going to need a better plan. He really should have some kind of... elemental fire weapons. The steam-elemental shells might kind of count, but given how the first one did he'd rather wait for some kind of weak point to open up before trying another one.

For now, he starts to circle RegiIce at a distance, trying to avoid any acute bursts of frost while flinging a hail of more conventional railgun rounds across the battlefield.
Count Kord     Hammered from all directions. A beam is shot at it, and it deflects that by just swatting it aside, like it was as simple as deflecting a thrown toy. The fire spell hits a wall of cold air, which it manifests with a quick movement of its other hand. Fingers spread and crackle, but these two attacks are the only ones it can adequately defend against. Mort SLAMS it in the face with his boot, sending it visibly sliding back against the ice! Axel's chakrams hit its arms and gouge chunks out of its frame, creating a crystalline spray of steam and water from the impact. Staren takes a chip out of it, the shot ricocheting off its body and slamming into the ice in the distance. Krusty's Axe gets it in the leg, but he finds it abnormally strong, like trying to chop through a suit of armor! And a single spike of DARKNESS extends from the titan's shadow, glancing off its body and leaving another gouge in its impossibly cold mass.

Regice grows upset with their attacks. Everyone is slamming it at once now, and it needs to mitigate the amount of targets. So, it leans forward, and darts forward for the prone Kord, who had landed on the ice when the cold had covered the whole of his body. He struggles to get out of the way, but... Regice is going to try to hit him with an Ice Punch, right in the head, where it hurts the most. The ensuing shockwave of cold and concussive force ripples outward, blowing icebergs up and out of the water and spraying everything in more sea water. A massive white pillar of frost and saltwater rises in the wake of the titan's blow. It moved so quickly, and struck so hard, that the very ocean trembles beneath its attack.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer is sent flying across the ice by Regice's assault. He manages to tank the hit pretty well.. Unfortunately, that hit was pretty damned solid. Ow. He needs to conserve energy but he also needs to slow this wretched thing a bit. It can't be allowed to go too much farther.. Shaking off the ice shards, Mort begins charging at Regice once more.

But instead of jumping up onto it, he's making a twisting dive between its pointed legs, kicking one of his legs around and forcing his body into a spin that throws off intense but short-lived licks of flame at the Regi's 'feet'. The idea being to flash-heat and then flash-freeze the damned things feet to the glacier, slow it down at least for a few moments..
Note     Note sees the shockwave of frost spreading from RegIce as Kord lands in trouble... and all she can do is clench her fists and dig deeper into her energy. With a drawn out kiai and about ten seconds of focus, she cranks it up! The frozen sea rumbles and cracks and the tip of her chosen pillar simply EXPLODES from her own shockwave of power. When it dies down... her aura's blazing out even further from her body and a tight, thin layer of even thicker energy seethes from her flesh. She wasn't exactly muscular to begin with. Her thick winter clothing covers up the other signs of what just happened... but the climb to Super Saiyan 2nd Grade deflects about half of the frost, leaving her to instead...

... to instead, moments later, wrap her arms around herself and shiver, almost doubling over as the cold sets in.

Through force of will though, Note steadies herself in the air... sucks in a bitterly cold breath even as her parka starts building up a layer of frost.

Turning her body in the air, Note brings both hands to her right side... "K-K...K... k.... KAAAAAAAAAAA M-MEEEEEEEEEE..." It's visible even from afar. A tiny spark of blue-white light appears between the little fighter's palms. In no time at all it grows to fill the space between her palms and rage for escape. Brighter and brighter it grows, the contained energy roiling and churning... "HAAAAAAAAA... M-MEEEEEEEEE"

She can see it. The wave of sundered, flash-frozen ocean coming straight at her. And there's no way she can dodge now. So.

She's not even going to try. Instead... Note thrusts those hands forward and opens her palms, half-curled fingers framing the distant Legendary-- "HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

With a strobing pulsing noise, all that energy erupts into a pillar of raw power coursing just across the ice. IN its wake, the frozen ocean cracks and shatters, and the exposed water parts down to ten feet deep. The bulbous front of this wave keeps on going though, pushed along by a streaming torrent of Ki.

This mess slams right into the edge of the shockwave fifty feet from Note, breaking through it in no time and carrying straigh ton. The wave has quite a distance to travel, but it's on target all right- it's headed STRAIGHT for RegIce!

But back out on the ice, Note's splashed by a combination of ice fragments and water sprays that quick-freeze into and through her, soaking chunks of it through and exposing her to the bitter cold... "G-gyahhhhhhah...! C-co-co-cooooold...!"
Theurgus     Arcana grunts a bit, as she comes to a stop. The splashwave of that punch catches her in the side, and the younger DCC goes sprawling, slamming into one of Mort's spikes, and losing her transformation. She lands on the ice, and doesn't move.

Theurgus sees her little protege go down. "Arcana!" She grits her teeth, turning her mismatched gaze onto RegiIce. "Rasping metal, howling circuit, gasping settle, wailing summit. Burst and scatter, scintillate and shatter, upon a frozen throne, melt away into ash. HELLFIRE!" The ice floe begins to melt and buckle, as eruptions of flame begin to break through the ice beaneath RegiIce's feet. The effect is localized, but the flames do not die out, following RegiIce as it moves!
Staren     "Kord!" Icebergs and water fly everywhere! Staren jumps too late, ice crashing into his mecha and tossing it back, water coating and freezing most of it below the chest.

"Ungh!" Staren grunts in the cockpit as he's shaken around. The Star Hawk has landed on its back on a large iceberg. It sits up and rights itself with thrusters to quick-stand, shattering the ice coating it... but along with the ice, bits of armor fall off too where the ice was the only thing holding them on around the midsection. Light from outside intrudes into the cockpit, as here and there shards of the armor covering it fall away.

"Rrrgh..." the Star Hawk leaps into the air and transforms to hybrid mode, flying closer so Staren can more precisely aim at Regice. Staren tries to direct the railgun fire to push the legendary pokemon off balance and interfere with its attacks on the others! "Stay back! You won't have this world!"

Frost begins to form on the machine's armor...
Axel Axel is knocked backwards by the assault, rebalancing himself in mid air to barely catch himself despite being battered, sliding backwards on the cold ice and shivering even more as his coat collects frost. His chakrams return to his hand after a flicker, and Axel takes a breath. If they're going to kill this thing, he needs a better opening. And then he can be a little extreme. But not yet.

Throwing the chakrams again, Axel flurries them back and forth into Regice, continually moving as they return to hand, trying to chip into the ice. They're light attacks, trying to let him catch a breather but keep up the damage until he can throw something bigger. "Bastard...I hate the cold."
Krusty     The extreme cold saps away Krusty's strength. So Krusty saps it back in return. His axe hits the large block of ice that is a golem, doing about as much damage as he expected. But the damage is enough, the weapon's absorption effect draining some of the creature's power. Krusty feels his body warm up briefly, damage from the cold healing. But it's only temporary. If he wants to stave off the effects of the ice, he'll have to keep hitting it.

But first, Krusty has to deal with the sudden upheavel of the already troublesome 'ground'. As he sees the ground being ripped up, rippling out from the Regice's strike, Krusty swings his axe and embeds it into the ice below him. The he loses his footing, holding onto the weapon tightly, as the ground launches into the air. Krusty's eyes go wide as he sees his own berg heading straight for another.

The two large chunks of ice collide, shattering each other.

Krusty comes flying out of the resulting cloud of destruction, an empty potion bottle in his hand. The wounds suffered in the collision are already vanishing as he releases the bottle into the quickly re-freezing waters below.

Landing on a falling piece of ice, Krusty leaps off it and into the air once more in the direction of Regice. Bringing his large two-handed axe over his head, the blade begins to glow. Krusty unleashes a battle cry as he brings the weapon down towards the golem's 'face', creating a large flash of light as the attack skill unleashes the gathered power.
Bahamut      Even the shockwave of cold and ice is enough to knock Bahamut from the sky. He lets out a pained roar as ice forms over his metallic body. His wings lock up and he plummets, bouncing off the ice hard and sliding for a good distance before finally digging in his claws to stop his momentum. He gets up slowly and with a bit of creaking from ice scraping against his metallic skutes. "...this is ridiculous! Even Shiva does not produce such intense cold!" he growls as he uses some more fire magic to defrost himself.

Bahamut stays on the ground for now, and with a growl he bares his teeth and talons as he charges right at Regice. Usually he would pounce in such a situation, but with how cold this thing is he instead slides by and slashes at it, metal claws seeking to cut deep into the body of the icy abomination.
Count Kord     Whether it was blind luck or incredible skill, Kord managed to dodge away from the titan's incredible wrath. He can't do something like that twice, though, the exertion having flung him far up into the air from the blast of air. He was, strangely enough, the ONLY one not hit by that attack. He glances over the battlefield, and grunts in anger, then flaps his wings to fly down and emits a large blast of wind into Regice, to punish it for trying to shatter him like that...!
Count Kord     Regice moves to block attacks one after the other, like a trained martial artists made of robotic steel. Its limbs smoothly pivot to minimize doing even more damage against its body, and like always it seems not to have any emotional reaction. It just fights like a machine, aiming to kill everything that dares lift a finger against it. No creature alive would ever behave the way this bizarre monstrosity would. At the very least they would show fear. Fear licks at its body, axe blade chunks into its core, and still it stands. Dragon claws gouge it, and a blast of Ki comes toward it, only for it to bend its arm and deflect THAT energy as well, sending up an enormous spray of snow and ice as it cuts a hot line through the ocean. It's clear even the smallest attack is chipping away at it, with damage starting to develop over its whole body. But it isn't down yet.

Light shimmers through its body as Kord flaps to try to get in for a landing. It swings its arm, and like before, when it attacks once, it releases so much power that ice shatters and people would hear it for miles around. The entire shoreline of Bayern must be deeply afraid of what's happening on this unnatural battlefield. Its curled fist strikes out and emits arcs of lightning that blast off of it. It tries to deck Kord square in the nose and drive DOWN. The swing releases dancing bolts of lightning that slam all over the place, threatening to electrocute each and every person near Regice in that moment.

    "Die."

It just... spoke? The sound vibrates through the very snow and ice, almost like a trick of the mind.
Count Kord     Kord is driven down so hard that he's punched through three feet of ice, and disappears beneath the steam, ice and seawater.
Staren     "KORD!"

Staren can't possibly retrieve him now, though. The only way to get to Kord faster is to finish off Regice.

And there seems to be no fast way to do that. Especially as lightning tears across the Star Hawk's surface, ripping up armor and leaving lines of smoking exposed internals bordered by red-hot slag before it all cools.

It seems slow and steady will win this race, but can Staren and the others outlast this beast? Kord will just have to be a problem for future-Staren to solve. For now, he presses the assault.

A half-dozen personal-scale missiles launch as the Star Hawk pulls back some distance, then explode into balls of superheated plasma around Regice as the mecha transforms and lands behind the other fighters, bringing up the gatling railgun to supply a stream of hypersonic metal aimed at center of mass, keeping up the pressure.

They just have to keep it up and wear it down... before it wears them down!
Axel The lightning dances down as they fight, and Axel moves to slide out of the way. He still gets hit, but luckily not in the head or chest, as the bolt surges through his arms and painfully through his body, causing a serious grunt of pain as he pushes back, and weighs in. If he retreats right now, it'll look bad, besides him still having the energy to fight. He's not at risk of dying yet, even if he fears it. So he should give this Regice his all before it crushes him.

As the others fire into Regice, Axel shouts out. It feels...odd, listening to him, but it sounds somewhat fiery and hot-blooded. He must be feeling the excitement and rage of battle, right? "Alright, snowman...let's turn up the heat."

Giving himself some morale even if he doesn't really feel anything about the fight and actually despises it, Axel suddenly blips forward, teleporting /onto/ one of Regice's arms. He proceeds to start rushing along it, running up it even if that means he's running vertically, and moves for Regice's head. His feet are freezing...but his boots start trailing fire in his wake, blazing damage underneath him with every step.

And then, when he reaches the face, Axel moves to slam the two chakrams into its head, wreathed absolutely in fire, and start grinding into it, burning with strength. If he doesn't immediately get swatted, Axel will then proceed to bound off and move to land in a roll, to avoid getting knocked into the sea below.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer is fried pretty hard by that electric attack, but he's fortunate- the zap actually launches him as his muscles react to that degree of violent amperage, letting him avoid a bit of the full force. He lands on his feet, coughing up blood and falling to one knee. A brief moment is taken to instruct the others on what to do- Staren went prematurely, but that was okay. He got in a good hit. Ulbrecht almost rushes out to grab him, the fur around his feet singed from being cooked by the lightning, but he changes course to snatch up Arcana for Theurgus. Like a good boy.

Mort's getting tired.. Rapidly. He's been conserving a lot of energy though. He can fire off something to help the others.. He can make a dent. The others can exploit it. Yes. Just like the old days. Enough of them agree to follow his lead. Excellent, all the better. The old man forces himself to his feet and starts walking toward Regice. His fiery hair explodes into a magnificent mane of ghostly flames. Faces of the Dead seem to writhe within. The temperature around him skyrockets at dramatic pace. Were it not for Regice's cold, this glacier would be melting in seconds.

The winds blow the steam away, giving the Titan a clear look at the old man and the flames that lick around him. Trailing from his mouth. His eyes are bloodshot with a murderous glare- no, they're glowing red. Bright and hateful. "This time.. THIS TIME!"

The flames increase in volume and spread, like a carpet of boiling souls wailing across the ice. And then, suddenly, almost instantaneously- they suck inward and Mortimer is momentarily left bald. His mouth opens wider than it should, to the point of threatening to dislocate his jaw. A blinding beam of intense flames, hotter than any volcano, erupts and begins vaporizing everything in its path.

All he has to do is hit Regice.. Just one good hit..!
Krusty     Krusty lands again after his strike against the ice creature. The health drained by his weapon onces again restores some warmth to him, healing the freeze burns that have been slowly accruing. Glancing around at his allies, it seems that most of them are taking a beating. This elemental is quite powerful, delivering devestating blows while resisting harm. But Krusty still believes they can take it down.

Krusty's focus returns to Regice at the moment that it punches Kord down through the ice. Unfortunate. Krusty readies himself as the lightning strikes, the energy crackling across his armour and through his body. The pain is visible on the knight's face, but he doesn't cry out. Instead he endures it until it finally passes.

Krusty's armour still crackles a little as he prepares to use some of the ice golem's own tricks against it. Krusty once more raises his large axe above his head, the blade glowing. But rather than move in to strike Regice directly, Krusty brings the weapon down into the ground in front of him.

    The impact is loud.

For a moment following it, silence.

The ice begins to groan, cracks of light beginning to spiderweb out from the impact in the direction of Regice. Then in a explosion of ice and debris similar to one of the golem's previous attacks, the icy ground explodes upwards, breaking apart beneath the Regice's footing and sending large chunks flying to smash into the creature.
Theurgus     Theurgus' defensive barriers aren't tuned for Lightning element, and the strike punches through before she can even attempt to move. Red damaged code blossoms across her body as the Thunder attack scatters across it, and the DCC falls from the air onto the ice, slowly starting to frost over as she comes into contact with it. "Not... yet... These people are counting on us." her gaze turns towards the main island in the distance, before returning to RegiIce. "I shall match my timing with yours. Let us end this." she says over radio to the others, before lifting unsteadily back into the air. She wobbles in place, then begins to chant. This is in a language that doesn't get caught by the translation effect, but a multi-coloured aura surrounds her, becoming a spell circle behind her and building power. "I give my body so others may live. Prisma Paradisio."

Theurgus' eyes close, as the energy punches through her body, amplifying through the crystal in her chest and blasting outwards at RegiIce, in sync with the others to open a gap for someone to strike a lethal blow.
Note     "N-no way...!" That thing SWATTED away a KameHameHa. On top of everything else it's just soaking. "What-what's it MADE OF? Can't be ice..."

Not that she has much time to think about it. Lightning comes screaming her way. Drawing what she has left of concentration, Note zips this way and that, letting arc after arc clear past... and only at the last moment does she flub and take a bolt to the everything. "Hyaaakhh!!" The scorching's brief though, thankfully...

She wobbles in the air, but stays aloft. Keeps RegIce firmly in her view... and once again extends her hands.

She knows better than to engage in melee with THAT THING. It's harder than stone, her fists will not be able to dent it. So she won't attack with fists.

Instead, she takes aim... and unleashes a BARRAGE of small 'arrows of light', each coursing in after the other along different paths, in hopes that at least SOME will strike true!

"What... does it take... to bring this thing... DOWN?"
Bahamut      Bahamut is rewarded for his slash with a strong bolt of lightning. He roars as it arcs over his metallic skin and causes him to stumble and slide across the ice once more. He digs in to arrest his momentum and spares a small fire spell for himself once more, then growls as he digs in even more. He anchors himself firmly with each limb, metal claws penetrating into the ice to provide a steady platform.

The golden gyro floating atop his back starts to spin and arc with golden-white energy. As the gyro spins faster and faster more energy builds up, then starts forming into an orb in front of his mouth. Swirling blue and white and grey form in the growing orb of power. "We will not let your land fall, Kord!" he roars as the energy builds.

When the orb is as big around as Bahamut himself, it finally explodes outward in a beam of pure destructive energy broader than Bahamut himself, swirling with the same blinding colors as the orb that is spawning it. The beam no doubt melts a path through the ice it passes over on its way to Regice, seeking to completely envelope the ice monster. The beam lasts for several seconds, but even when it stops it isn't done.

The area it passed over erupts in a powerful explosion of even more of the same energy, forming a wall of destruction along the ice that reaches a few hundred feet into the sky. That energy eventually dissapates, leaving motes of crackling white-gold everywhere that slowly fade away.
Count Kord     Kord is lost beneath the ice. He can't participate in the fight any longer. And Theurgus expends the last of her energy. The titan's body is engulfed by flames, and Axel's attack grinds all the way through to the core of its body, steam rising as Mort's own fire melts its form and makes it start to saaaag. Ice shatters upward into its body and cracks its form. The titan's form is awash with a dragon's roar, the destruction rendering ice to snow and sea water behind Regice in two big lines from the impact. Even NOTE manages to actually HIT IT this time! Plasma SEARS into it!!

But, at the end of it, the monster still stands. What!?

With so much mass removed, you would think it would have a hard time moving. But as if its actual form had nothing to do with the ice it's made of, it rears back and tries to just PUNCH Axel up into the air, then bring both of its hands down for a powerful SLAM into the ice below it. But this isn't a normal attack. No, the impact instead just releases another blast of wind outward, sending spikes of ice and bitterly cold snow out in curling waves, threatening to freeze everyone around Regice solid under the sheer force of the blow.

This truly is a mythical battle, and they won't seize victory until they claw it from the steely grip of death.
Staren     Inside the Star Hawk's gunpod, a new set of missiles moves into position. It might not be enough.

The left shoulder pack opens. Staren draws forth a giant revolver, with a barrel the size of a small battleship cannon. Staren takes aim at any weakpoints the others open. Ice and cold wash over the Star Hawk, freezing it in place, thich ice creeping up its legs now. He may not get another shot after all...

Staren pulls the trigger. Pairs of 4-inch shells launch with each shot, one behind the other, empowered by the mad science of a man who just wanted to level the playingfield between humanity and the monsters that hunt them.

As soon as his aim starts to waver, another half-dozen plasma minimissiles fire, as well as a trio of regular old vehicle-scale explosives! So much for slow and steady -- they won't last another hit, Regice goes down now or never!
Axel Axel thinks they might have gotten it. They might have slain the beast. But quickly, he realizes he's wrong - too late to retreat. The massive icy fists slam him into the air, and then back into the ground, where he impacts /hard/ with the ice. He probably bruised some ribs, maybe slightly cracked something - that he can repair, but he's going to be feeling this for a while, and need some rest. But despite that, Axel can still, slowly, stand back up while everyone fights...

And open a dark corridor, a billowing black portal of inky darkness, as he clutches his robes and grimaces. "I'm out. Good luck." He says to any others nearby, and then moves through the portal to retreat. In case of anyone following immediately after (he closes it quickly), it doesn't directly lead to any secret bases, because he doesn't want to risk any of this thing following through, but from where he shows up next, he'll take another jaunt to his headquarters.

Hopefully the reward was worth the risk, because he certainly hurts more than he expected to.
Mortimer Balman      Jaw hurt. Dislocated. Pain everywhere. Everything he could.. Not enough, though. Not enough. But he cracked it. It was melting. Bahamut and Theurgus and the others, yes. Good. Wait.. Note. She was right there. "No.. Kid! NOTE!!"

Every joint and muscle screamed in protest as he forced himself to run. The last bits of energy used to throw himself in front of Note, grabbing her and wrapping her up in a big, warm hug. At least. Warm for a few moments. Then the blizzard hit. The flames died out pretty quickly after that, as a massive sheet of ice formed up around his back.

"You gotta.. Think.. F-faster.. N-note.." There was trembling and shivering, and then he went slack. Cold.. So horribly, horribly cold..
Krusty     Krusty watches as another blast of cold and ice is unleashed by the Regice's strikes. Some of the others look to take it rather badly, particularly the one who was punched. But Krusty doesn't waver at the sight. Stabbing his axe into the ground to anchor him, Krusty quickly prepares, taking in a deep breath as an aura of blue light covers him. His Cool Defense skill activates.

The blast of cold air slams into Krusty but he holds his ground, holding on to his axe until it finally passes. Once more his armour has partially iced over, small frost covering part of his face. But he still looks as composed as the skill suggests.

Krusty pulls his axe free of the ice once more, then charges forward. His weapon glows as he quickly closes the distance to Regice, taking advantage of his still relatively strong condition to press the attack.

Jumping at the ice golem, Krusty cries out, "Onslaught!"

The blow from the axe unleashes a large burst of light, the impact sending a shockwave of cold air blasting away.
Note     Everyone's getting torn up! Seeing one brutal attack over another bring down warrior after warrior, and the creature just... strolling right through the best they have... it's enough to bring a different coldness to this battlefield. The bitter cold of despair.

This isn't Note's home. She has no real stake here, right? Except... except... she does.

There's people here all across these islands. She can feel them. All of them. Every living thing in the area. As the big energy signatures die down, the smaller ones stand out more and more.

And this thing. This uncaring, coldhearted THING doesn't care about them. It -wants- to see them all freeze to death and crush them under its gargantuosity.

A hiss escapes the girl's mouth through clenched teeth. The growing despair mixes with sparks of rage, because this has happened before. Not too long ago. And the longer she watches, the less and less this place looks like the islands... and the more she can see her own village frozen over like this. Everyone as ice chunks. Shattered to pieces.

Her fists clench tightly. An errant bolt of blue-purple lightning crackles across the fringes of her aura.

Then she comes back to her senses, feeling a terrible cold closing in-- "What... Mortimer--?" The Pokemorph's arms are around her just in time to shield her. The frigid wind blasts past. She hardly feels it, but...

But Mortimer's show of care right in front, and feeling his grip loosen and life energy dwindling hurts far more than that cold could've. "Mort... Mortimer...!"

She hadn't asked for him to shield her. Note crouches down, attempts to rouse the badgerman with a few shakes while fighting a case of the sniffles... there's nothing she can do to help him!

"You... useless... stupid MONSTER..." WHAM! UNable to do much else, Note SLAMS a fist hard into the ice, nearly cracking it down to the frozen ocean. Though it freezes up again quickly enough. So do her building tears.

She rises to both feet with a SNARL and TAKES OFF.

"I'll MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT ONE!!" With a wordless scream, the little warrior takes off with an EXPLOSION of golden Ki and a few more bolts of that strange lightning. Her hair flutters wildly in the winds of her own rocketing towards the Legendary... and then--

Halfway to the creature, for one brief moment, Note's aura condenses and flashes brightly, like a miniature sun. She emerges from the glare - AND the shredded remains of her winter clothing - like a streak of lightning herself, careening as a living missile for RegIce.

Should she strike, this is NOTHING like the strength she wielded before. Nor does she stick to one strike. She becomes a living STORM of blows whipping from one part of the creature to another, slamming with skillful and rage-fueled punches, kicks, chops, and elbow blows to every weakened spot the group has managed to claw into it!
Count Kord     Regice still stands, still staaands... but wobbles as Krusty's blow lands on it, and Staren's missiles pepper its enormous silhouette, and the creature sizzles and steams. The ambient cold slowly starts to let up as its energy begins to dissipate. The Plate, the core of the Regi, flickers with ominous light, as it tries to trigger the emergency self destruct that its sibling did before. But too much damage means it can't get the ability off before Note is falling on it like a rain of fury.

Kicks knock out chunks, punches crack ice, a chop knocks its arm clean off, an elbow blow sends it to its knee, and one final punch knocks the Plate out of its body. The cyan-collared slab of elemental power soars through the air and embeds into a floating sheet of ice, dormantly resting there. Regice collapses, shattering and fading away, all of its light disappearing and its ice turning inert and softer. The cold effect in the area begins to fade, and the ocean rapidly starts to rebalance itself. They have enough time to gather the wounded and leave, but not enough time to linger around. The ice floe that the Plate is on remains, though, maintained by its latent power, so it should be easy to locate and retrieve later.

All goes quiet. Kord's body is at the bottom of the ocean by now, and it's very deep down there. It may simply be too hazardous to look for him right now, and he's nowhere to be seen on the surface.
Mortimer Balman      Mort doesn't budge when the ice starts to fade, and the cold drops. He's stiff as a board. Thaaat's probably a bad sign. The great thunderwolf Ulbrecht quickly trots over after having dropped Theurgus off to a safe spot outside of the battlefield, along with Arcana, in the care of Switchbait; he'd go to grab others that were KOed but all he sees is Mort knelt in the snow, like a statue. The enormous creature tries to curl up around him, wrapping himself around the badger as tightly as he can- whining and crying like a grossly oversized puppy.
Bahamut      Bahamut has begrudgingly become used to nearly everything remaining standing even after his most powerful attack. He growls as he stands once more, watching the blizzard coming toward him and everyone else. His fists clench and he just walks toward Regice. Ice forms all over his body and his wings lock up once more. He stumbles forward, body twitching from the cold, and he has to use another fire spell to keep from locking up completely. "Y-you...will not...p-prevail!!" he says, bellowing the last word in more of a draconic roar than a mere word.

Axel has to withdraw. Mortimer falls protecting the young girl who Bahamut was wondering if she even belonged in such a battle. His wonderings are quickly put to rest as Note explodes with power and rage. His eyes widen in surprise. Even without any sort of power sense it is pretty obvious she just had a power spike. He watches in some amount of awe as she beats the creature into shaved ice. He blinks at the plate that comes flying out, then lets out a rumble of relief as the cold starts to fall away. His wings thaw and he takes to the air as the ice thaws as well. He looks down at the water. "Kord...you had better be alive down there somewhere." he says, then wings his way over to Note. "It is alright. It is over now." he says, then looks over to Krusty. "Well fought. We have saved many this day."

Ulbrecht's whining draws him back to Mortimer, and he reaches out to give the large wolf a gentle pat. "I might be able to thaw him somewhat." he says, then tries to urge Ulbrecht away while building a flame in his other clawed hand. He throws several small fire spells, then talks into his radio. "Bring in the Fahrenheit. We have at least one extreme case of hypothermia, if not several."

The airship moves in quickly and lowers an entry ramp for any that wish a warm place to travel for the trip back to the warp gate.
Theurgus     As the ice begins to melt, it reveals a blue-haired woman in a white coat-dress, laying where Diamond Soul was stood. She's not moving, and is covered in a crisscross of damaged code, red like blood. She ends up on a little floating ice islet, and will need picking up rather quickly, lest she end up in the water.
Staren     The ice is about to snap the Star Hawk's legs off. As attack after attack fails to finish it, Staren's already planning the next steps: Retreat and finding another avenue of attack. Maybe they could build a superweapon on the coast and blast it from a safe distance. Hell, this far out into the ocea, maybe they could use a nuke safely? If they can get everyone out of here. He's still not sure how to retrieve Kord. Starflot has underwater gear, don't they? Surely the Concord can figure something out.

And then Note does something he doesn't remember seeing before, and rips (the oh-so-heavily-damaged but not quite defeated) Regice to shreds. It doesn't even get to explode. The ice around the Star Hawks legs becomes normal ice, melting when thrusters are fired and shattering when it moves. More shards of armor fall with the ice though, already fractured and broken by Regice's attacks and only held in place by the ice.

He surveys the battlefield. Theurgus and Arcana need pickup, as do Mort and Ulbrecht... Bahamut's got the latter two though. The dragon has an airship?

The Star Hawk lands by the fallen mages, and Staren climbs out, considering his options. He could awkwardly try to cram both of them into the Star Hawk's spare seat, he could bring them to the Farenheit...

Since he's still not sure what special treatment they need, he'd better take them home. He deploys some drones to keep an eye on Mortimer, sets the Star Hawk to autopilot back to the warpgate, and beams up with the girls. S.A.I.L. sets a course for whatever space-accessible warpgate will bring them to the DCC most directly.
Note     For a good minute or so, life for Note is nothing but screaming, pain, exertion, and rage. She's on a little rampage... well, no. She's a little girl on a BIG RAMPAGE. Chunks of RegIce fly everywhere! And she doesn't stop. She just doesn't stop. She doesn't stop until the screaming little Saiyan-blooded flies first-first throuugh its fading body and slams headlong into the frozen ground--

Nope. THROUGH the ground, throwing huge chunks of -everything- in her way, well... every which way through the air. And all along the rest of the way into the edge of the ice. She finally comes to a halt gasping and panting for breath... and that's easier said than done.

It's still FREEZING out here, and she just lost her cold weather gear. "Haaaah.....ahhhhhh.... "

She emerges from it all wet and cold, but still shining with a radiant golden aura filled with periodic sizzling lightning bolts, her hair strangely even spikier and more upraised than before. That ponytail looks like it could kill someone if it were a weapon....

"Nhhhhhhhhhhhhhgh." Is her only real answer to Bahamut. A grunt at best. She rockets off towards Mortimer and the Thunderwolf to check on him first, heedless of the cold.

She'll haul him straight to the nearby rescue ship herself if need be. And the mutt.
