Sarracenia      After the defeat by Zenos and subsequently having to be carried off by a dragonfly creature, Sarracenia was in a bit of a somber mood. She obviously didn't like losing, but small victory she had gotten Zenos to admit at least a little that she wasn't useless or weak. She still didn't like losing to a jerk like him, though.

So, after inviting Alexis and her pokemon to stay at the castle to recuperate, Sarracenia had scheduled a spa night. Currently? She was in her private chambers in a puffy, super soft, red robe. The kind that almost looks like a fur coat and feels like one is wrapped in a cloud. She is sitting at a large table waiting for her personal chef to bring the meal that she ordered specifically for herself and her friend. Sarra had enjoyed a long, luxurious bath followed by a massage, and had insisted that Alexis enjoy the same. Now a pair of pirahna plant servants were busy setting out the food and drink for the two ladies. The best, most tasty food that can be found in this kingdom and the best white champaigne. Sarracenia is eating with a healthy appetite despite being a princess, and there seems plenty for Alexis and even her pokemon to do the same.
Alexis     Some time to soak after a hard if very quick and brutal fight never hurt. Though Alexis avoided using something as girly sounding as 'spa night' to describe it. That said (or unsaid) it was good to relax a bit, and a good soak to make sure the wound to the back she took got cleaned properly. That and think.

It wasn't losing that she minded. It happens. It's the reason you keep trying to make yourself better. It was Zenos' dismissive attitude that rubbed her the wrong way. Stupid empires, thinking things like friendship and helping others wasn't a strong point. Of course it hadn't helped that Alexis had only a hunting party with her, and not something that could cut through that magic-techno armor. So he wasn't exactly -wrong- that she butted into something over her head. His method of expressing that point, that was the stickler.

Maybe next time she'll let Mega Charizard set his face on fire. See how clanky pants likes that.

She took a little longer due to getting that wound looked over but Alexis finally does walk into the room. In a borrowed robe since the two girls are close to the same height. She was followed by a big lavander creature that looked like a big spiky reptile. Except had big wide ears like a rodent. Wearing a bow behind one ear and a housekeeping apron that looks entirely contradicting to the otherwise fearsome beast appearance. "Nidoking. (You're lucky that wound didn't cut deeper.)"

"Yeah yeah, spare the lecture Spikes. I'll be better after something to eat." To which she stops at the table for a moment, eyeing the assortment being set up. "And no shortage of options by the looks of it." Clearly she was expecting Sarra to be all petite, tidily balanced portions and what not. The way you usually see prissy people eat.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia had missed Alexis taking such a hit in the intense melee. Of course, when she found out she had sent for the best doctor in Sundew and had made extra sure that her new best friend was well cared for.

When Alexis finally makes her way into Sarra's room, Sarra smirks. "It is about time you arrived! It seems you made yourself at home." she says teasingly, then giggles at the comment on the small feast. "Well, it is not just for you and me. Your creatures helped in the battle, and as such are just as deserving of pampering as we are."

The Nidoking is a bit intimidating, being so big and bulky and spikey, but Sarra just laughs a bit nervously then motions to the table. "Please, help yourself! If there is something you would like but is not here, merely ask one of my servants. I'm sure we could procure at least a small amount." she says to both Alexis and the Nido.

She looks like she is going to say more, but whatever it is pride and uncertainty make her stop. "Ah...how do you feel? Did you enjoy the bath and massage?"
Alexis     Alexis laughs a little as she flops in a chair. "If that's not enough of a selection already, I don't know what would be. Nice of you think of the critters two though, Sarracenia." Pause. "Spikes? My belts with the rest of my clothes." The nido grunts in response and flicks his long tail foward to her, which has the bundle of her clothes tucked in the coil. "Thanks." Alexis grabs three of the pokeballs to release the dog, bird, and dragonfly she had used. Rockruff plops down on the spot, still feeling tired, while the Flygon sets on her haunchs at the table and the Talonflame perchs as a bird would be expected to on the back of Alexis chair. Followed by a montage of passing around to make sure everyone gets some food appropriate to their diets.

"Normally all I get is a shower and maybe Spikes working my shoulders with his claws. So I guess a little pampering for a change doesn't hurt."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia smiles as all the pokemon join them. "Whether they are pets or companions, they deserve the best just like you or I." she says between bites of a very decadent-looking cake. Which of course is there if any of them want. It almost seems like a wedding cake. Three layers of red velvet with excessive amounts of pure white, buttercream frosting and red frosting in the shape of red tulips on the top. "Of course a little pampering is good! And a lot is even better!"

She motions, and a piranha plant pours Alexis a nice flute full of champaigne. "Regardless of what that pompous Zenos said, I believe we did our best. And..." She hesitates again. "...um...th-thank you." She looks a bit embarrassed to actually be thanking someone for helping her. "Even though we were not victorious...it means a lot that you were willing to leap into the fray without any reason other than your friend being there."
Alexis     "Companions." It's a clarification not a correction. "You don't get to be a professional Trainer by taking your pokemon for granted." A bowl of various tidbits is set on the floor for Rockruff, and Alexis does ask one of the Piranha Servants to get some water for him. Spikes uses his tail to hold a plate for the Talonflame to pick from while holding his own in his claws, and the Flygon being an elegant dragon-fly probably has the best manners of the beastly bunch.

Once they're all provided with Alexis sits back up in her chair. "Eh, he's full of himself like most self-righteous warriors... Just didn't realize he actually had the umf to back it up, that's all." Next time she'll be better prepared. She takes the champaigne flute with a nod of thanks, and grins lopsidely at Sarracenia. "Don't sweat it girl. That's the sort of well-meaningly reckless," "Nidoking! (But still reckless!)" ",sort of thing friends do." Alexis takes a sip from the flute, then sets it aside so she can dig in. And... well, she's not rude or needlessly sloppy, but it's apparent the tomboy isn't big on fancy table manners, either. Probably about what one would expect.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia's servants stare a bit at the manners of their guests (at least they seem to, who can tell since they have no apparent eyes) but Sarracenia actually giggles a bit. She may be eating more than a princess usually does, but she still has the utmost in table manners. "Well, I hope I have a chance to return the favor some day." she says with a smile. "And you may have noticed that reckless is much my style as well. At least, that is what my parents say. But, when one is not some super-powered saiyan or divinely-endowed warrior, one cannot really affort to be concerned with defenses that will make no difference."

Sarra takes another bite, watching the various pokemon eat for a few moments before tapping a finger against her chin in thought. "I have heard that many trainers such as yourself have no permanent residence. Is this true?"
Alexis     "Mmhm. Truth in that." Alexis at least has the manners to finishing chewing and swallowing before she tries to talk. "Sure you've noticed I ain't the one here with some funky abilities... Other than having the portable combat critters. Not sure that really counts as a 'power' per say. Plenty of summoning sorts out there." She shrugs a little.

At least the Piranha Plants don't have to worry about being mistaken as part of the meal. Both the bird and the insect-dragon are predatory species.

"Eh. That's kinda true. Most trainers spend their early years wandering across various regions to learn how to battle and take care of their pokemon." Alexis pauses as she leans over to grab a piece of the cake before someone else decides to eat all of it. Spikes gives her a bit of a look for not waiting until the end for dessert but politely doesn't nag her over it. "I've got a place in Hoenn that the pokemon I'm not currently using stay.... But I tend to be a wanderer." She makes a grandeous gesture with one arm, forcing Spikes to duck and Windburn to hop to the other side of the chair back to keep from getting smacked. "Prefer finding new things to see, new challenges to face. Save a world on occasion." She winks at Sarracenia. "Helping out a friend tends to come up more often than that."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia nods as she listens to all of this, while the piranha plant servants go about their business. They seem mostly oblivious of the types of pokemon that could pose a danger to them. After all, predators and plant-eaters alike would enjoy a nice piranha plant. The Rockruff draws more of their attention, being a cute fuzzy-ish thing. Many of the fairly simple-minded plant creatures end up trying to pet him with smiles that take up their entire head.

"I see." Sarracenia says when Alexis is done explaining, and she smirks lightly at the last part. "I have yet to save a world, but I do welcome new challenges." she says, then rubs the back of her head a bit nervously. "So...I apologize for asking this but...you really do actually like being around me?"
Alexis     Despite being a Rock type and it being right in his name Rockruff actually has a pretty fuzzy pelt, as long as you don't crack a knuckle on the stony nubs in his neck fluff. Then again the plants probably don't have knuckles. His coat only gets hard and bristly when he's fighting. But the Piranha Plants are being nice and aren't too different from some Grass types so he's hardly going to resist the petting. It's a little odd with leaves but its still petting and gets a few wags out of his curly akita tail.

Alexis digs partway into the cake, then pauses and tips her head a little to the side at the question, and as it hasn't been tied back up like usual her hair all slothes off to that aside with the angling of her head. It would probably be down to her knees if she was standing, no wonder she keeps it up in a high ponytail or even pigtails on occasion. "Why? Is there some reason I shouldn't be? Sure, you're a princess and I'm just a scruffy tomboy," which she says with more than a hint of proudness in the fact, "but that's no reason.." A pause. "Oooh." Alexis waggles her fork in Sarracenia's direction. "I suppose being royalty you're use to people just wanting to be 'friends' because you're rich and spoiled, eh?" Seems like the most likely reason to ask something like that to her.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia tries to laught it off when Alexis says that, but it is far from genuine. "Er...well...there is that I suppose, but..." She rubs her arm uncomfortably. "...even my own subjects do not really care for me. I can count the number of actual friends I have ever had on one hand, alongside the number of actual suitors I have ever had." As if to demonstrate, she looks up in a contemplative manner and starts counting on a hand. She gets to...five, then stops. "Yes. Even combined..." She holds up the hand to Alexis. "...so..." She isn't sure how to continue from there without it being insulting in some way.
Alexis     Spikes walks over and, despite the somewhat brute appearance of his species is very gentle as he takes Sarracenia's other hand and uncurls two more fingers. "Nidoking. (One Trainer has a team of six, ma'am)" His claws are also immaculately manicured for their size. Despite the ruffian name and gruff natural appearance he's surprisingly prim. To a degree he's the 'girly guy' to offset Alexis 'scruffy tomboy'.

"Well then." Alexis pushes the empty cake plate aside and reclaims the champaigne flute as she leans back in her chair. "I get the honor of being your real friend, group of friends or however you want to count pokemon." Spikes has the right general idea. "Nuttin wrong with that as far as I can see."
Sarracenia      Sarra actually looks a bit nervous for a moment as the big, brutal-looking, spikey pokemon approaches her. Her hand is taken and she blinks in surprise at the gentleness and manicure before giving the Nidoking a bit of a confused look. His words make her even more confused. The Nido knows her even less than Alexis does. She smiles though and gives his huge paw a squeeze with both hands. "Thank you." she says, then releases him. "And I must say, whoever does your..um...claws..? ..does a wonderful job.

Sarracenia takes her own glass and holds it up. "To real friends!" she says cheerfully (perhaps overly cheerfully) and holds it out to clink against Alexis's glass. Alexis might be able to tell from her somewhat mixed expression that Sarracenia is still cautious, though.
Alexis     "My aunt is a breeder and groomer," Alexis fills in. "He'd do it himself but that's a little awkward past filing. He helps take care of a lot of the other pokemon though." If he wasn't already a pinkish lavander hue Spikes would probably blush, but rubbing a paw behind his head gets a similar gesture across.

"To real friends!" she replies with the toast and the clink, and sits back to drink the champagne afterwards. She can't blame Sarracenia for still being a little wary after everything else she's heard.

Proving she's the real thing is a challenge she'll gladly accept, though.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia smiles at the big softie of a pokemon as he blushes. "So, all of those spikes and claws and muscles are just for show, hm?" she teases lightly. She looks around at the other pokemon, then at Alexis. "So...um..." Sarra obviously searches for a proper line of conversation for a few moments. "...what do you and your pokemon do when you are not butting in and saving worlds?"
Alexis     "Sometimes the hardest part of being strong is knowing when to be gentle," Alexis chimes in as she gives Spikes a pat on the shoulder. "He's perfectly capable of fighting, just like any Pokemon, he just doesn't like to unless it's necessary." Alexis pauses to finish off the champaigne and sets the empty flute aside. "Exploring, mostly. With the size of the Multiverse and new places always turning up there's no shortage of that to do. Hunt monsters and stuff to keep them from getting in the way of people... And sometimes keeping the people from getting in the way of the monsters, too."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia smiles again and gives Spikes a pat on the arm. "I was only teasing. If only more human males knew how to be gentle without losing their strength." she says before reaching up carefully to try rubbing one of those big ears as she listens to Alexis. "Hmm. I do not generally hunt monsters, but I would be happy to accompany you and your pokemon on any expeditions you might undertake. I myself spend much of my free time shopping, visiting new worlds...and of course practicing my hammer dancing. I may have to increase my regiment and actually break some sort of sweat during my sessions."
Alexis     Most of those don't surprise Alexis, and she refrains from rolling her eyes at the mention of shopping. She doesn't mind shopping, she's just very much the sort that goes in, finds what they need, and gets done. "A little company won't hurt, and some hiking would help your stamina too." She pauses to lean partway over as if looking under the table. "Gotta get you some decent hiking boots though. High heels get stuck in everything." That said Alexis settles back in her chair and stretches. She reachs up to ruffle Windburn's feathers but finds the Talonflame has already dozed off after her meal. So has Flygon for that matter, and even Rockruff has curled up where the servent plants are doting over him. She chuckles a little. "After a good meal like that I think they've got the right idea Sarra. Some sleep would probably do us good too."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia notices the eyerolling and frowns lightly, but Alexis looking under the table distracts her and causes her to pull her legs up a bit self-consciously. "Oh...hiking boots. Well, I am sure we can find something that is an acceptable combination of style and function." she says. Alexis draws attention to the pokemon and Sarra giggles a bit. "Yes. A good sleep is quite necessary after such an ordeal. There are guest quarters nearby for you and your pokemon." she says, and motions to one of the servants before blinking. "Oh! Unless you wish to stay here and have one of those 'slumber parties'? I have never really attended one."
Alexis     Spikes opens his mouth as if to say something but Alexis immeadiately clamps it shut with one hand, though not in a way that would actually hurt him. "No. No rulebooks on slumber parties." Though now that it's been said Sarracenia might go looking for once anyways. Oh well. She's not really opposed to the idea per say. "That said, a good slumber party does take a little bit of planning... Sometimes it involves a lot less of the actual slumbering. Let's tag that for some friend bonding time later and just get some good rest to recover right now."

Spikes gives her a surprisingly effective pouting expression despite his snarly species appearances, and after a moment Alexis sighs with a hint of amusement. "Fine, you can plan one. Guidelines, but no rulebooks. Let's keep it fun and casual."

It's hard to imagine a brawny lizard-porcupine-rabbit prancing out of the room, but that's pretty much what Spikes does with excitement.
