Zenos yae Galvus Once more, the Arena erupts in dramatic cheers and a roar of sound as the crowd gets ready for yet another contest of strength.  From his corner of the arena, Zenos yae Galvus marches with his usual pace towards his side of the arena.  Dressed in the dark steel of Garlemald, and adorned with some trappings of Ala Mhigan dress, as well as what might be considered a 'golf caddy' of swords on his hip.

Walking onto the stage itself, a single hand rests on one of the blades as he awaits his opponent.  His face covered by a helmet with a white mask.  Blonde hair flowing in the brief wind that picks up because it's a passive skill for weeaboo classes like his.

"Well then...let us see who is stronger," he says calmly when his opponent arrives, and waits for her to get ready.
Haguro Haguro looks rather anxious on her way into the arena. She's donning her usual purple uniform covered in armored plates and turrets, but there's also a smattering of blue lights partially obscured at the back of her outfit. She takes a moment to check her turrets, the guns twisting and turning a few times while she looks over towards today's opponent!

Almost immediately, she looks relieved. "Good... You're not... Um." Zenos isn't someone that's familiar to her and there's a brief puzzled expression on her face as she tries to identify what she's looking at, but it's not as if she can really criticize.

She looks like a freaking nun or something. "My name is Haguro, fourth of the Myoukou Class Heavy Cruisers. Thank you for facing me today!" She salutes Zenos, then hunches over slightly as she loosens herself up for the coming match.
Haguro The bell rings, the pistol fires, a vuvuzela blows, and a balloon pops. The fight is on! Eyeing Zenos' sword caddy, the shipgirl holds her arm out as her turrets aim in a wide V. Instead of firing directly at Zenos, however, she fires two shots at the ground around him to blast up a spray of dust and debris, then whips out her revolver and fires a quick shot into the cloud!
Zenos yae Galvus "Zenos ya Galvus.  Legatus of the twelveth legion, General of Garlemald, Imperial Viceroy of Ala Mhigo and Doma," he says simply enough.  "At least you show proper respect," He comments.  The hand grips the weapon tighter, as he starts preparing his first move.

The cloud obscures the bullet, but what happens next may be considered surprising.  The bullet hits the armor, causing some damage to it but instead of try and prevent it, or go defensive against the ranged attacker.  Instead, he goes right through the cloud, aiming to burst out of it, and aim to swing one of the blades from the Sword Revolver in a wide arch.

The blade cuts through the air so quickly that a shockwave forms from the tip of it, aiming to try and catch the boat on the defensive.  The move was a single fluid attack, without any wasted motion.
Haguro "I see... So you're military, too." Haguro swallows lightly, then manages a slight smile in response to his comment. As she hears the bullet ping off something, she slips the revolver away and readies her hands in front of herself. Strangely enough, she's not firing into the cloud further nor even aiming them into it.

Instead, she holds her ground. She watches the cloud. She waits. As Zenos emerges, she starts moving forward to meet him directly. The shockwave rips right into her, slowing the cruiser down as an armor plate goes flying and she takes a nasty cut to the shoulder.

Like Zenos earlier, she doesn't go on the defensive. She launches herself right at him, ducking at the last moment to try catching him with a speedy shoulder check.
Zenos yae Galvus The force of Haguro's shoulder check was not to be underestimated, as she comes in forcefully, Zenos is already moving.  The check glancing against his armor, but with enough force to damage the plating.  The force transfers to his chest, but thankfully more was disbursed by the armor that was felt.  Without staggering, he brings his blade up, and then right back down at her.

This time, however, he brings it down in such a way that would be easily avoidable.  However, if she did avoid it, the force of the swing would follow after her, aiming to throw the boat away, like being caught in a powerful gust of wind.

Slowly, Zenos returns the blade to the Sword Revolver, as the thing rotates and another sword comes up.  He grips the hilt carefully, his eyes continuing to watch Haguro very closely behind the mask.  Attempts to weaken him are pushed through, his body overcoming them, though the source of this would be rather unknown...he did not seem to actively cast or do anything.
Haguro Zenos' armor proves to be tougher than Haguro would like, causing a slight flinch from the impact of ramming into armor with little more than cloth in between. She evades the swing itself as expected, but the gust of wind catches her off guard and sends the ship flying backwards! She tumbles through the air, bracing for a hard landing as the wind buffets her, and...

She lands on her feet, staggering back a few more steps and looking utterly baffled at what just happened. It takes her a moment to gather herself, and then she stomps once as she holds her arms out and upwards as if preparing to grab Zenos despite being too far away for that.

The lights under the back of her uniform flare up. She hunches over, and then she disappears. A moment later, she reappears next to Zenos grabbing the air beside him! She catches her blunder quickly enough, however, and twists around to instead try and grab his arm to start jerking and twisting it out of place rapidly through the armor.
Zenos yae Galvus The ship proves once more she has a lot of power in her frame.  The initially failed grab does little to try and shake her off, but the second one grabs his arm, pulling in such a way as he can feel things dislocate.  He quickly moves to break the hold, his own form fading away and then reappearing a short distance away.

Then she can hear the bones crack and relocate themselves, joints popping into place with a grunt of pain on his behalf.  The sword arm comes down to his blade as he draws it in a single breath of action.  Swords drop around the arena, each one sparking dangerously with electrical energy.

Then the blade swings, causing a gust of wind to try and blow Haguro from into one of the swords, aiming to try and cause electrical damage through the use of his aether.  Of course, then it would be weird to feel her body weaken from the dangerous art.
Haguro Haguro staggers again as Zenos displays his own prowess in phasing right through her attack, and she actually looks intrigued as she looks over towards him once more. "That... That is something you could do with that, isn't it? I see!" She looks excited for a moment, but it's short lived as Zenos' blades set into place around the arena.

She's not quite sure what she's looking at, but there's a few guesses she can make. With so many blades around crackling with so much magic and lightning, Haguro finds her mobility limited. That gust of wind sends her staggering back and she yelps as she's tossed into one of the blades, jerking around uncontrollably as that lightning rakes across her side.

It's only through quick thinking and using her back-thrusters, combined with that brief disappearance, that she manages to escape being shocked endlessly. "S... So that does work!" She chuckles lightly as she surveys the battlefield, looking for the best route towards Zenos.

And then she realizes something very important: She's a Heavy Cruiser. She has guns. Raising her arms towards Zenos, she starts firing wildly at him, launching loads of explosives and heated shrapnel towards him!
Zenos yae Galvus Zenos attempts to bring his sword to bear, aiming to deflect and block as many of the shots as he could, but unfortunately, this time more than he would like to get through his defense.  Armor shreds under the constant fire, as bits of metal tear through the flesh underneath.  Blood leaks out over the armor, but he still stands.

Even as damage to his body should prevent him from operating at PEEK PERFORMANCE, his body seems to heal the damage almost automatically, reseting the time on these grievous injuries.  Quietly, he regards the heavy cruiser for a moment...

Then vanishes, appearing to the right of her aiming to bring the sword down at her, and then vanishes again, coming at a different direction doing the same thing.  It was only then that she would realize that these Zenos' are not the real one, as the real Zenos appears from the sky, aiming to bring the sword down in an overhanded swing to try and cut through her form.
Haguro Haguro holds her fire for a moment as she needs to actually see who she's aiming at. Peering through the smoke, she gawks at Zenos as his body looks much fresher than it should. The Cruiser, on the other hand, is scraped and burnt in multiple spots. Like Zenos, however, she's pushing through the pain and steeling herself as she prepares to react to his next attack.

Except she was prepared for one Zenos, not multiple. She screeches painfully as the first cut strikes true, sending her staggering back before she retaliates by trying to grab that Zenos just as he disappears. The next one gets her from behind, and she loses a few more plates of armor for her trouble.

And then there's the one from above. She's (somewhat) prepared for it this time as she turns her gaze up towards him, taking the sword across her midsection with another spray of blood/oil/ghostjuice. Again, she's opting for a more aggressive counter as she lunges for Zenos' leg this time, aiming to yank him up by the leg and swing him overhead behind her.
Zenos yae Galvus Zenos is grabbed yet again, finding it very annoying to deal with these command grabs.  He didn't have to deal with this crap in Dissidia.  Swung by the leg, however, he was forced to the brink...and there was a laugh as he goes end over end, before managing to correct himself and lands with a grinding halt.

"Hahaha...you are pretty strong!  Good!  Now it feels right to use everything I have against you..." there is a sudden manic sound to his voice, before he stands up, hand on his blade as he gazes towards Haguro once more.  Who would have thought such a caporal package could house such a power.

He swings the blade from the Sword revolver in a massive swing, aiming to send Haguro back with the blade's gust.  This quickly turns in with another Zenos with the blade of the storm, as another blast of electricity aims to tear through her form and tear her body from ranged.

However, once more the real Zenos appears, diving from across the arena towards her, aiming to swing another blade, this one covered in crimson fire.  The Ash as it's called comes down, aiming to tear part of the arena in half and cause a massive wave of fire to go everywhere in front of him.
Haguro Haguro actually manages a weary, yet amused chuckle herself. It's an odd feeling, considering what she's always told herself about the nature of fighting. Of being born as a Fleet Daughter. Of being a weapon.

"I wouldn't expect anything less... Sir! Give me everything you've got!" She can feel her legs shaking underneath her, but there's an undeniable adrenaline building inside of her. She needs to see just how far she can go with all this!

It probably helps that she's not fighting a teenager again, too.

Bracing herself as she readies to try and maneuver or block against Zenos' attacks it proves to be too much to keep up with. The gust takes her off her feet again, and she's already preparing her armor thrusters to right herself when that electricity hits her. It leaves her stunned long enough that the flaming blade tears right through her side, leaving a messy gash that looks rather horrific both in-person and on TV!

Pushing herself up slowly, Haguro gasps painfully as she struggles just to get back on her feet. She considers firing some shells at him from her grounded position, but she can barely see him in all the fire. Catching a glimpse of him through the flames, however, she opts for one last ditch maneuver!

Angling her feet and arms just right, she starts firing into the ground behind her to propel herself at Zenos, launching herself as the weapon with a last-ditch cross body check. It's not dignified by any means, but it's the best she has at this point.
Zenos yae Galvus The last-ditch effort proves fruitful, Zenos attempts to bring the sword up to try and move around the ship girl, but apparently, the power in her weaponry and the absurdity of the attack was too much to count on and being struck across the chest he goes back, flying on impact.

Zenos skids across the battlefield, until he comes to a stop.  Sword used to brace himself as he stays on a knee.  Unable to continue fighting, the battle ends with Haguro as the victor.

Standing after a minute, and very slowly with the effects of the area working their magic on him he speaks plainly.  "Congratulations on your victory, it was well earned."

With that, he turns from the stage and moves to exit.
Haguro It worked! Oh hell, everything hurts even worse now. Really, what was Haguro expecting, using a BODY attack when Zenos already carved through so much of it in the first place? Still, what works works, and the Cruiser rolls to a stop not too far from Zenos as the battle comes to an end.

Pushing herself up slowly again, the Cruiser moves gingerly despite the arena fixing things back up for the competitors. "It... It was a good fight, sir. Thank you for the learning opportunity." She bows lightly to him before moving towards the exit as well, breathing in and out slowly to get her blood pressure back down.

Or engine... Oil... Gas. Something. Ships are weird.
