Scene #6523: MECC: Alexis vs Sarracenia

Sarracenia	Thanks to the improved power set up for the MECC area, Sarracenia is ready to go again after just a short rest. She even has a repaired dress! Her mood is a bit dour after the loss, but she still waves to whoever is gathered and gives her hammer a twirling flourish before leveling at her opponent. "I hope you will not be mad at me if I win, Alexis!" she says, a bit of a frown still left over from her last battle. Spoiled princesses hate to lose. The princess reaches into her satchel after that and pulls out one of those black powder bombs. She tosses it up and down casually as the fuse burns down. "Let us begin!" she exclaims before tossing it at Alexis. It isn't a dangerous explosion, but it certainly looks dramatic with all the smoke and sparks!
Alexis	And as Sarracenia reachs for her bag, Alexis snags one of the Pokeballs off the strap of her bag with a grin. "Time to see what your training has been doing for you, Princess... And you might be able to pull that off!" The spheroid is flung into the arena. "Time to start the show, Majorette!" It pops open at the command and with it's surge of energy releases a bipedal yellow fox. "Brai~xen!" As soon as her feet hit the ground she kicks back and twirls around to avoid getting hit by the bomb directly. Instead it hits the ground and explodes, the sparks and smoke bursting from it still enough to ruffle the vixen's fur wildly as it nearly knocks her over. "Brai!" she hmphs, brushing the soot out of longer tuffs of fur that almost look like a skirt around her hips. Then reachs back to grab the stick poking out of her bushy tail with one paw. She gives it a yank free and whips it dramatically in front of herself, the fricition causing the tip to ignite in it's own ball of flame as she holds it up dramatically. Then turns sideways and snaps it down to point at Sarracenia like a wand, and sure enough the flames on the end send several small sparks of fire zinging towards the Princess.
Sarracenia	Sarracenia blinks as the Braixen is brought out, then squeals a bit. "Alexis! You have been hiding another cutie from me?!" she exclaims, forgetting they are fighting for a few moments. "Hewwo there cutie. I'm so sorry about ruffling your lovely fur with my-" And then flames! Those small sparks of fire don't seem so small when you have long flammable hair! "-my hair! Not my hair!!" the princess exclaims as some of the sparks land in her long locks. "Stop drop and roll stop drop and roll!!" The princess spends several moments rolling back and forth to put herself out. The cuteness is now forgotten, replaced with an incredulous 'how dare you?!' kind of face. "Fine I take it back! I am not sorry!" she exclaims in spoiled brat style as she charges toward Braixen and swings her hammer. "No matter how cute you are, you cannot get away with burning a princess's hair!!"
Alexis	Alexis lets out a soft sigh, like that was the reaction she was expecting. Then shrugs a little. "Not my fault several fire types are 'cute' foxes." The Braixen would probably preen a little, but Sarracenia's cutesy-wootsy moment is cut short by realizing her hair is on fire. As does Alexis. Remembering the last time she inadvertantly set a certain Rocket's rediculous hairstyle on fire. "Oh shi--" Sure enough Sarracenia has a tantrum over it, and swings her hammer with tremendous fury. It impacts directly with the fox-witch before she can attempt anything else, sending her head over tail through the air, flip flip flip... and then stops. As in stops mid-air, floating just above the ground as her eyes are glowing with something other than fire. The ground where she's floating starts to shimmer, rippling outward around her, making it look like someone was shining rainbow lights across the surface. Alexis, still a bit on the leery side of psionic powers, takes a few extra steps back. Just what she needs, TWO stylistic egos having a tantrum. "I'm almost starting to regret this choice..." "BRAIXEN!" The fox witch thrusts her wand over her head, and seemingly out of thin air several crystals of psychic energy bombard down on Sarracenia like a minature meteor shower!
Sarracenia	Sarracenia laughs as Braixen goes flying...only to freeze about the same time Braixen does. Sarra blinks a few times. "...how did you..?" Then she notices those glowing eyes. Everyone recognizes psychic energy when it is being used, and Sarracenia's eyes widen. She might recognize it, but she has never actually fought against it. "Wh-..uh...I...!" She flails as she tries to think up a way to defend. Finally she just holds her hammer in front of her, hoping the large head will soak some of the damage. Unfortunately, it doesn't help at all. Sarra is blasted hard by the psychic meteors, and looks much the worse for wear after the attack. At least her hair isn't damaged any further. "What is with these creatures of yours, Alexis?" she asks, leaning on her hammer for support and looking up at the floating Braixen. There is no way Sarracenia can win at this rate. She's already worse off than she was against Shigure in the same amount of time. And her fighting style doesn't really leave a lot of options. All she can do is keep attacking. She reaches into her satchel and pulls out a couple of bob-ombs. "I must not give up..." she says quietly to herself before she tosses those bob-ombs up at Braixen.
Alexis	"It's ... Pokemon." It's really all the explaination Alexis can give. She may know a lot about handling cute yet supernaturally powerful combat critters, but she's not one of the Professors. "Weird powers kind of come with the package." As Sarracenia is knocked about by her attack Majorette lowers to the ground, touching down on her toes and twirling her stick like the baton her namesake would use. This one likes to show off a bit, it seems. Time to get this fight back under control before both of the girls get carried away again. Alexis stomps a foot to the ground to steady herself back into the fight and throws out her hand. "Majorette, use Flame Charge!" The fox's ears perk up as she hears the command, and emits a sound that's somewhere between a yip and a giggle. She snatchs the stick in her paw and holds it up over her head as she twirls around a few times, the flames igniting more brightly. Then she sweeps it down and jumps to land on it in a crouch, the flames making it look like a blazing broomstick as she takes off. Right into the attack. The bombs explode as she blast through, being rocked about by the concussive shockwaves roughly but the attack's speed boost happens to hit at the right time to carry her through the explosions before they knock her off. It's some mix of that psychic power floating the stick and the flames doing something similar to a jet as she zooms around in a curve, zips upward, and then abruptly jumps off the stick and grabs it in her hand again to drop down at Sarracenia as she swings in a fiery strike. It's not the most potent of attacks, but boy does it look flashy and fanciful.
Sarracenia	It is an impressive-looking attack! Even Sarracenia is dazzled by it! But, one thing about attacks like that with a lot of build-up and a very straightforward actual attack...well, they are easier to avoid. Sarracenia is by no means the fastest of opponents, but she manages to sidestep at just the right time to avoid the downward swing completely. And that leaves her with a great opening to try and land a devastating attack. Some sort of prismatic energy flows down the haft of the DK Hammer and covers Sarracenia. "Alright, time to see if you can take as good as you give!" she exclaims as her reddish-blonde hair starts to float upward from the magical energy infusing her. The energy even fills her eyes, and like someone possessed by a demonic weapon... Princess Sarracenia uses Outrage! She seems to lose all control, swinging her hammer up and down with amazing speed and devastating strength. Over and over and over for several long seconds. The hammer is no doubt going to leave many craters around the arena...and Sarracenia is hoping one of those will contain an overwhelmed pokemon!
Alexis	Sarracenia may not be a dragon, but Outrage is a very accurate comparison as she goes complete blitzkrieg with that hammer! WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM! Alexis has to try and think quickly. "Use Double Team!" With a yelp Majorette scrambles to comply, taking a twirling jump backwards that whirls sparkling flames around that zing away to create multiple fiery effigies of herself that dash to get between her and Sarracenia's assau-- WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM -- And do little to deter her, each smash of the hammer dispersing a doppleganger in a poof of heat energy. WHAM Then hammer finally finds it's mark, slamming into the ground on top of the witch-fox hard enough to make cracks radiate out from the impact. Even if she's not fighting Alexis holds an arm up to cover her face out of sympathetic reflex. WHAM WHAM WHAM And a few more times for good measure before the pummeling attack finally ends. Followed by one of those quiet ominous moments as the dust settles. Is that it? That's got to be the end of the fight doesn't it? That fox is a special attacker, she doesn't have the defenses some of Alexis' other pokemon do to withstand such an onslau-- "BRAIXEN!" Yet somehow a plume of fire briefly erupts from the crater left by the hammer, then shimmers down as Majorette stalks out of it. The fox is clearly battered, bruised, and beat to the last few slivers of her health points, but is clinging to sheer tenacity. Alexis glances from behind her arm, honestly she's as surprised as anyone else. Though she's quick to recover and try to capitalize on the moment. "Time for the showstopper!" Majorette scraps her stick across the ground to reignite one end, then waves it about in front of her. Her entire form starts to glow brightly as Blaze kicks in. o/~ Strike a match and watch burn...o/~ All she does it touch the flaming tip to the ground. But the elemental energy that is cast from it causes the ground beneath Sarracenia's feet to start to glow and heat up, until it erupts around in in multiple searing pillars of flame! o/~ I'll set the world ablaze since it's this game that you play! Fuel the flames of this pyre and I will burn higher, burn brighter! o/~
Sarracenia	The sparkling glow surrounding Sarracenia finally dies down, and despite knowing better she thinks perhaps that was the end. But, her expression just goes flat in an 'I knew it' kind of way as Braixen appears from the dust in a spout of flames. Left a bit exhausted after the outrageous hammer attack, Sarracenia watches as Majorette strikes up a fire attack. Sarracenia's eyes widen as that glow starts to build up underneath her. She quickly reaches into her bag and pulls out a Hammer Bros power up, and in a puff of smoke she is in black tights with a thick black helmet and an equally thick shell on her back. She hops onto her back and curls up inside the shell, hoping it might save her. It does, but even as she is blasted clear she gets seared quite badly. The power-up disappears half way through her flight, and she lands on her feet once again in her battle dress...which is now sizzling and actually smoldering in a few places. And her hair is a total loss now. She has what is best described as a fro. "Well...that was rather impressive. Not quite a Bonzai Bill, but not far off." she says with a smirk, apparently not aware of her new hairdo. "Let us see if you can handle another powerful attack from the Sarracenia Sundew Arsenal!" She reaches into her satchel and tosses up three very large bullets with shark faces before she goes into a spin. As each bullet comes down, it is fired like a cannon shot toward Braixen, complete with the thundering sound of a cannon and a fiery explosion from the launch. The three Bullet Bills move almost faster than the eye can see in their quest to take out Braixen, ending in three more even more powerful explosions!
Alexis	After the blaze is ignited Braixen slouches, ears slumping. She's really feeling the exhaustion now from trying to keep up with Sarracenia's assaults. Being opponents at the moment doesn't stop Alexis from actually applauding when the Princess makes uses of one of her Power Ups to dampen the impact of the assault. "That is -exactly- what I meant by being strategic with those!" It's a competition. That doesn't stop her from being supportive of her friend. That wouldn't be very sporting. There is, however, still the fight to contend with. Braixen is running out of energy and options and Alexis knows it. But it would be a disservice to that comeback to just throw in the towel. That would be ruining the show they've put on, and a performer like Braixen isn't going to let that happen. So despite being run ragged she exhales, and manages to jump over the first Bullet Bill. She lands on the second, jumping off of it! It's hard to tell if the third was slung at a slightly different angle, or just that the fox is that wore out. Either way, her jump isn't quite enough and instead of landing on the projectile Braixen smacks right into the shark face front. Which of course causes it to explode! There's that whining sound of something plummeting through the air as Braixen careens backwards and skids across the ground. The stick tumbles even farther, clattering about before finally falling still and the flame on the tip going out. Majorette holds up one paw.... and despite what gesture people might be expecting gives Sarracenia a thumbs up... well, close to it, since she technically doesn't have a thumb but she manages to put one digit up in a similar manner. That was a good fight, she approves even if she lost. Then drops the arm back to her side and groans. She is completely wiped. "Good job, girl. Rest up." Alexis recalls the fox to her pokeball, and despite losing is smiling as she walks over and slaps Sarracenia on the back. "Told ya practice and persistance was what it would take!"
Sarracenia	Sarracenia's teeth clench at the jump over the first, and grit at the hop off the second...but the third explodes in an extremely satisfying way and Sarracenia lets out a cheer! "Take that, you frustrating fox!" she calls out! Then Braixen crashes down and gives a thumbs up. Sarracenia blinks, then giggles a bit and smiles before giving a thumbs up in return. "You were marvelous!" she calls out before making her way over quickly to Braixen. She scoops up the fox, only to blink as Braixen is returned to her pokeball. "Oh...that is much better, I think." she says, then smiles happily to Alexis. "I won! It feels as though I have not had a victory in years!" Really it's only been a month or two, but she's an overdramatic type. Sarracenia runs up to Alexis after that and gives her friend a big hug. "You cheered for me even though I was your opponent! We really are friends!" she exclaims over-exhuberantly, practically picking Alexis up in the enthusiastic hug.
Alexis	Alexis is a tough girl, but she still lets out a gasp as she's hugged so firmly. Though that's a fair exchange, seeing as her friendly shoulder slaps tend to be a bit harder than necessary. She manages to sputter the weeze into a bit of a laugh. "I'd be a poor friend AND poor competator if I didn't!"
