Homura Akemi MITAKIHARA TOWN, JAPAN, 7PM

The city's favorite broadcasts have been disrupted. Bad weather seems to linger around the Mitakihara Radio Tower (essentially a copypasta of the Tokyo Radio Tower), and nobody really intends to look into it more than that, for one reason or another. The wounds of the last great storm to hit the city still linger on its population, and nobody really wants to try to fix high-perched electrical equipment during one. And so the tower is left be by the authorities, who promise a return to normal within a few hours.

But you have information otherwise.

Homura claims that there's a Witch atop the tower. Or in the tower. She can't be sure from the ground level. That could be bad, because the radio tower is staffed by dozens and dozens of people in an enclosed space. And well, you've seen how Witches feed.

The magical girl is waiting by the entrance, under a little rain cover to avoid getting soaked. It's not exactly a high security area, in fact the base of the tower has plenty of tourist traps and attractions. If it, you know, wasn't raining. People are expected to be able to visit the lower floors, and sometimes the upper ones when on a tour. Getting in won't be the issue. Getting in without spooking the staff, and reaching the Witch, might be.

She's already swiped one of the floor plans from a wall. It's not like there's any hidden rooms up in here. There aren't all that many floors either; less than thirty, despite the height. That's because most of the height is just a support structure.

Most of the staff will be concentrated on the middle floors, where the observation decks are. That's probably where the Witch is, too. You just need a plan of attack now.
Sumiko Unfortunately, nobody told someone that this was a private party.  Mikoto stands on one of the nearby buildings, after all, she had been scouting this witch out as well.  However, she was ignorant of Homura being around, instead deciding to do things on her own, which is the standard for most magical girls.

There is a brilliant light, from the rooftop of the nearby building, as she activates her soul gem, and the girl goes from a normally clothed girl to a magical girl.  A hat sits on her head, a combination of emerald green and aquamarine blue.  Her face is covered by a bird mask, jade in appearance with black and aquamarine blue accents.  Her dress is the same emerald green with aquamarine gems in it, and the frills being the same color of blue.

A pair of gloves reach up to her shoulders on each hand, in the same pattern as her dress, while legs are covered in dark emerald green and light blue striped stockings, with black heels to finish up the attire.  On her neck is a black bow, with a gem of green sitting in the center.  Upon the transformation finishing, she reaches a handout, as a sword drops from the sky next to her.  The sword's color is dark emerald green, with the hilt in the same color of black.

She crouches, and with an amazing jump she leaps from the building, heading right at the middle floors with an excessive burst of speed, her sword swinging once to shatter the glass before she enters, hitting the ground in a roll and already is immediately searching for the witch herself, taking carefully measured steps and keeping her gaze around her.

This is not at all subtle.
Rebecca Chambers A Witch here in the city? Quite a bewitching situation! Would it be going too far to codename this mission "Operation: Witch Hunt?"

OK, so now's not the time for bad puns...

With her tactical shield strapped to her back and her weapons holstered but ready for action at a moment's notice, Rebecca approaches the tower on foot, wearing a baseball cap to shield her face from the rain along with a rain jacket that helps protect her from the elements as well as obscure the weapons on her back and holstered. Some say it makes her look more like a boy than she already does, but that's for another time and another place. She's here on official business, and the business is somewhere inside that tower. Where there's a Witch somewhere inside, and it's up to Rebecca, Homura, and anyone else involved to take out that Witch before she can complete whatever her sinister plans are.

Once Rebecca reaches the rain cover where Homura is waiting, Rebecca takes off her hat and folds it up before putting it inside her pocket. She then salutes Homura and says, "I came as quickly as I could. I don't know what this 'Witch' is like, but I do know she needs to be stopped." A pause as Rebecca catches her breath, having run a little too fast for a few moments there before she continues. "I admit, I should've come wearing civilian clothes, but I really didn't have time to think about that.

When Mikoto activates her soul gem from up on the building, Rebecca gets a look at the light and she sighs a little. "I guess the element of surprise might have been reduced a little." She shrugs after that. "Still, we've got to do this no matter what." A pause as she looks down for a moment and then looks to Homura and asks, "Is there any way we could go directly to the top without drawing any attention to ourselves? Like maybe via a stairwell or something?"
Arthur Lowell     How does one get up? Very good question! Arthur is with Homura, figuring stuff out. "TIME SHIT's probs your BEST OPTIONS, on account of just WALKING PAST and all." He's saying. "Shout be HELLA SUBTLE and--" There's the noise of shattering. "Oh, shit dawg, I was gonna get all STEALTH SECTION or whatever. I'mma just--" He lashes one hand out towards the support structure. Very abruptly, gravity around it totally reorients. Rebecca Chambers gets a cocky sort of sarcastic half-salute. "Let's get fuckin' DIRECT at the GOAL then, sure homie."

He takes a running leap onto the support structure, and the freshly enchanted gravity turns the ascent into a short platforming sequence rather than any kind of climb, letting one leap around beams and along longer segments to ascend as if the thing was sideways. He can rocket-broom up, right? Well, maybe someone else wants to join in too, to get a shortcut. He makes his way, fast as he can, to the midsection, eyes out and alert for the dead, dying, and rivaled. Even with one window broken, he will just break a second window if it turns out to be the proper objective point.
Staren     Staren shows up... apparently human and wearing normal clothing? (Well, some people wouldn't call cargo zipoffs 'normal clothing', but a blue windbreaker looks more normal than a labcoat.)

Honestly he'd prefer to just make a beeline for the witch -- they're elites, it's not like they don't have a solution for 'normal building walls' -- but he's willing to make that plan B and at least TRY for stealth since Homura seems concerned.

"Hey guys," Staren greets those gathered... and then someone else does what he originally wanted to do. "Dammit, why even bother?!" He throws up his hands in frustration, the windbreaker reshapes into the familiar labcoat, though closed for once, and as he crouches energy wings appear behind him, and--

Arthur rearranges gravity. Sure, that works too. Staren stands, briefly unsteadily, and then runs. Faster and faster, the mechanical body is able to run faster than most cars!

He assumes the broken window is where the target is. The other magical girl probably knows their stuff, right? It'll be awkward if they just picked a random window.
Touta Konoe     "That's a tough order." Touta had arrived the moment he got the call from Homura. It takes him a beat to reach the rainy town, but for better or worse he's here to help! Though...Maybe helping is gonna be a bit more problematic to He doesn't have anything himself that could help them sneak into the place or keep people from panicking the moment they saw Elites. He looks to Homura for a moment with a questioning look before looking up at the building, "You think if I was able to go up from the outside of the building the Witch woul- Huh?"

The sounds of shattering glass are heard as the mysterious stranger leaps into the building from above. That wasn't going to do anything for the matter of subtlety. He looks to Homura seeing if she has any idea whot his girl was, but whether she knows or not the clock's ticking now. At least Arty's got a plan of attack, "huh, that'll make things easy, Nice thinking Arty!" Now he didn't even have to really stress using his footwork thanks to that gravity magic. So he'll follow along the path with Arthur to get to the midsection. "Hey Arty! This gravity work the same for people going down as it does going up?!"
Rean Schwarzer Rean arrives in his uniform as usual, holding an umbrella over his head. Of course, by the time he gets there, all subtlety's been thrown out the window (ha) by some girl in green.

And then gravity just changes and everyone is now climbing up the side of the building. "Hey, wait up!" Rean shouts, following the others up.
Sanary Rondel After the last time she had gotten involved in weird magical girl shenanigans, Sanary's still not sure where to actually go as far as helping with... Any of this. Luckily, she doesn't have to think that much this time when the call comes with a specific location. She shows up looking more like a civilian for once, donning her usual coat over everything and looking a little bulky while her giant axe is conspicuously absent.

And then people start flying, bounding, and messing with gravity. The temptation to just fly up there is strong, but without knowing where the Witch is, Sanary opts for a more finnese-based approach.

She just tries to walk on up there. Elevators, stairs, whatever she can reach by foot. Should she be asked why she's trying to go up there, she'll concoct a pretty vague story about 'looking for her half-sister' and trying to rope poor Homura into playing along. They both have black hair, so...

She didn't really think this through.
Homura Akemi     Glass shatters as Mikoto enters the Tokyo Tower with little care for stealth or preparation. She is immediatly greeted by the sight of a dozen people with tools, trying to unscrew and remove the very windows that were just broken through. It's an observation deck, after all! The windows are all lined up, and it's a big room.

One trips and falls out the window.
The others seem to take it as an opportunity. Differently paced (due to needing to recover from different degrees of getting knocked back and into desks or chairs), the staff of the Radio Tower attempts to hurl itself out the window.

If Mikoto doesn't much care for that, the Witch is just a floor up. It's kind of trivial to tell, this close up.

The sudden mess of shattered glass, light, noise and people falling has Homura entirely too worked up to give any kind of good answer to Rebecca or Arthur.

She has nothing to handle this.

Of course, the tower makes no attempts to stop people's ascent. There's no force at play to make powers or equipment fail. Whether they're ascending from the outside, or going up the elevator. But they might want to detour to catch those people, if Mikoto doesn't already have a plan up her sleeve.

Sanary for her part will end up on the main level of the tower a few moments later, courtesy of a fast elevator, to see the result of whatever Mikoto chooses to do, and catch an awful draft from the windows.
Sumiko Mikoto is a little surprised by this, of course, she is surprised that she didn't expect this.  Oh well!  She spins, aiming to grab the guy that tries and run past her and toss him unceremoniously back towards the rest of the group of them.  She sighs, and thrusts her sword down into the floor itself, as animals start to burst forth from the floor.  Snakes, wolves, and birds, each one glowing like ghosts, but they are very real.

They move to wrap around the men or pin them to the ground, or in case they get too far grab the people by the shoulders and fly them down to the ground.  Pulling her sword out of the ground, she breathes a bit of relief, having already commanded the animals to do their jobs, as she looks up.

Sword back over her shoulder, she starts running for the stairs, she leaves her animals to handle it, thinking nothing of any possible consequences.  Besides, if she kills the witch fast, then there won't be any consequences!  She does not even stop to see Sanary, which might be trouble because she did not give her animals any particular orders other than 'stop people from jumping off'.
Rebecca Chambers Well, so much for a stealthy approach to things. People are making a more direct approach rather than a stealthy one. Throwing off her rainccoat (it's a throwaway slicker pretty much) Rebecca rushes into the tower and looks for the nearest stairwell. Figuring that an elevator could easily risk being stopped on the way up, Rebecca figures that she could easily take the stairs with little difficulty. "Let's just go! They know we're here and we're not going to get anywhere standing around!"

Rebecca takes each of the stairs as quickly as she can, sometimes taking two at a time with little regard to how unsafe it is. "There's a Witch on the loose, and it's up to us to hunt her down!" She says to nobody in particular.
Sanary Rondel It figures that on one of the few occasions Sanary tries to do something clever, people would be throwing themselves out the observation deck just to get away from her. Holding an arm in front of her face to shield her eye from the sudden draft, the healer starts running for some of those people throwing themselves out. "H.. Hey! Dammit, keep your heads on straight!" There's too many of them to try grabbing them one at a time, so she instead goes for the edge. Once she's there, she tries catching whoever's trying to throw themselves off at that time before hurling them into other people further away from the edge.

With any luck, she might injure several of them enough to stop them from trying to jump again. It's not a clean solution by any means, but she's a healer. She'll just fix them later! The animals pinning the people down gets a cautious stare, but she's not aware of Mikoto's powers nor is she going to try stopping them in this case. "... Huh. Okay. Uh. Anyone got a good plan for stopping them from goin' nuts like this?!"
Staren     There's movement up ahead. Someone leaning out the window (?!) before a hand grabs them and throws them back in.

Then more come. Oh. Of course. This is how the witch feeds, after all.

Man, he hopes no witch ever attacks a place where everyone just carries weapons and can off themselves.

He suddenly wishes he could speed up his mind like Septette can. His cyberbrain can do that, but controlling his body at the same time is... no, especially in a situation like this.

He takes to the air, wings appearing again, intercepts one guy and fires a grapple tag at another. That's two. Hopefully the others can save the rest.

His pants and shoes sort of... retract into the coat, as thrusters in his feet and legs fire to keep up with the extra weight, burning holes in the bodysuit he's wearing underneath. He pushes the two victims against the building, slides them together, holds them in place with one arm, grabs a riot foam gun, and works on sticking them to the wall so they can't move and hurt themselves. He'll come back and free them later.
Arthur Lowell     Arthur, on his way up, makes sure above all else to try to prevent fall damage. Anything that gets past Mikoto or her... animal pack... will find that Arthur is asking Gravity to take a break for a moment, when it comes to them specifically. It's a fraction of its usual oomph, enough to scrape or bruise on ground impact, but that's about it. It's a tremendously complex rescue minigame probably, but it'll either make everyone else's job easier, or make the fall damage a little less of an issue.

He's in, diving in feet-first and "falling" through a window. Right next to the one Mikoto broke. He just wanted to break a window. "HELL YEEEEAAAAAH!" He shouts, in greeting to exactly nobody. "Oh, they're all--" He starts, then focuses on shouting to Sanary. "NO PLAN is the BEST PLAN! Fuck up the WITCH before they get too RAMBUNCTIOUS, all we got!" With the Witch not hiding anything, Arthur can use his basic MAGIC ANALYSIS to ID the direction that things went, even without being able to see Pretty Doctor Magic Doolittle-Chan's path on the way up. He guns it, rushing with an anti-gravity hover to avoid... stairs-related dangers, let's just say.
Touta Konoe      Well, guess that answers that question. It looks like someone's about to fall off but just as he's about to go over the edge something from inside pulled him back in. That was a good sign at least, though if any others were slipping through it'd be up to everyone on the outside to do their part. Staren's the first to take action as more begin to take a dip. But it was clear his hands were getting full so that left the others beginning to fall to Arthur and Touta. He figures that Arthur's magic could handle this situation better than he could but if anyone slipped through Touta would have to act. That's where the hula-hoop comes in. It's not really magic per se, but the fact that when he used Revolution he basically had a little a bit of an orbital pull gave him a bit more of a reach to snag people from their downward spiral into a spiral around Touta instead which was somewhat more safe!

Once he reach the top with the others though he looked at the people still just spinning around them, there's no guarantee they wouldn't just try jumping again so he figures he needs to try something. "These Witches are really trickle but hope this'll work." Without another word he places a hand on one of the people who he brought back up. There's not much a spectacle of it when he does it but he tries using Magic Cancel to see if whatever was effecting these people was magic and if it was could it be turned off. If it worked he would do this on the rest. If not...Well...Staren's got that fancy foam all around, we could just stick them on their...

"We've gotten this far without a plan, just rolling with it now. Arty wait up!" Without another word Touta keeps pace with Arthur going up the stair-case. When you're immortal, you never fear the dangers of stairs.
Sonic A glowing blue blur suddenly just kind of cracks into the world at relativistic speeds. Windows shake, trash gets sucked up, and soon the blur climbs all the way up to the top of a nearby building, stopping right on its point to look around from above.

"What's a Mitakihara Radio Tower anyway?" Sonic the Hedgehog suddenly asks himself, before he spots the large, out of place looking tower, and the strangeness of people going up the side of it. "My bet's on that thing."

He suddenly runs down the side of the building again, then jumps from building to building until he suddenly gets caught in the altered gravity of the tower.

He lands near Sanary, looking around as he tries to assess things. "Hey, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess this is Mitakihara Radio Tower, since there's, well, all this stuff happening."

But then he takes note of people falling, and starts running up, thrusting himself up the side of the building to grab someone as they're falling down. "Whoa, buddy, you don't have wings!" he says as he thrusts a foot against the air to get himself back against the tower, running the jumper down to the ground.

"You've got everything to live for. Beaches, chili dogs, cars. Get a fish, pet a cat." he says as he sits the jumper down on the ground.
Rean Schwarzer and now people are falling out of the broken windows...no, it's more like they're /throwing/ themselves out the windows. Rean swears, moving as quickly as he can to the nearest person- and the they're saved by a glowing bird. In fact, everyone else seems to be handling saving the Witch's prey pretty well. Rean sighs in relief, continuing up the building and heading upstairs.
Homura Akemi     Mikoto manages to pin down several of the people with spirit animals! They struggle and gnash, the mark on their necks entirely too visible now. The Witch's Kiss looks a bit like a barrel, if you painted a barrel to look like a person.

Sanary manages to catch one person, too! This person does not want to be held back. It's a good thing Sanary is strong and that her grip can't falter to a normie struggling against it.

Staren has no trouble catching and grappling a couple of them. Securing them to the building is a good way to stop them from doing anything stupid, too.

Arthur's gravity antics slow the fall of many others, and buys Touta the time needed to try cancelling magic. And it works! It's magical mind control, wiping it off isn't any harder than cancelling any other spell. The real issue is that there's dozens of people afflicted. It might not be viable to cleanse them all and expend your resources that way.

Sonic's entry sees another man safely on the ground. The last of them, mercifully. He doesn't seem to have a lot of words for the hedgehog; actually, he faints once he hits the bottom. That's probably for the best.

With everyone mildly distracted by FALLING PEOPLE, Rean is the first to reach the upper room. In the center of the room, on the floor, are strange glyphs that dance unnaturally along its surface. Rean's entrance seems to cause them to become agitated, expand and then... swallow the whole tower. (cont'd)
Homura Akemi     The Witch takes you all within its Barrier, which is especially disorienting to people who didn't expect it to happen. It also seems to phase out the civilians, and luckily for Rebecca, seems to blur the line between what's tall and what isn't to the point she won't have to climb stairs for the next thirty minutes to get anywhere.

The tower is certainly still present, but it isn't in the foreground anymore. It's like a background element, impossibly tall, that looks the same way no matter how you look at it. It's like a bit flat pillar; you're not inside anymore, if you were to begin with. The sky is green, without sun, moon, cloud or stars.

The tower's covered in platforms at least, which is where you are. Even the people on ground level are on platforms now, and underneath there's no more ground, just... more tower. And more sky. Going down instead of up. Just. Don't look down, it's better that way.

The platforms are numerous enough that going up the spiral isn't hard, so much as disorienting because of the centerpiece.

There are dolls everywhere, too. Teddy bears float, held aloft by stuffed cupid wings and holding onto machetes, wandering around the tower. Large plastic monkeys form chains between platforms, and some are even moving around, patching holes in the chains or just wandering from platform to platform aimlessly.

The Witch definitely feels "up", Mikoto could confirm, but Arthur would get a similar vibe. So at least you know you don't have to go down.

The Familiars (dolls, bears, monkeys) don't seem to have noticed you yet. You could go on a killing spree pre-emptively, or try not to aggro them.
Staren     The world fades away and... so this witch barrier is... interesting. An endless pillar, and familiars that look like toys. No sign of the witch yet, though... and it kind of seems like, with this structure, he should see the witch above or below...

...This really feels like one of those Boss Encounters where either the boss chases you from below as it eats the terrain, or the platforms collapse and you try to fight the boss ahead of you and not fall so far behind that you die.

    Hmm.

For now, Staren flits from platform to platform, heading upward. He'll ignore the familiars as long as they ignore him.
Sumiko The world changes around them, it appears the witch was a lot closer than she thought.  Now standing on a pad, she looks down.  "Whoa.  Not going that way.." she mutters to herself.  Looking up she spots the various dolls, and her face turns into a frown.  "Of course, another one of these messed up ones.  Pretending that they were ever human..."

Growling, she leaps from platform to platform on the way up.  Another burst of phantasmal animals erupts from her, all of them crows.  The crows move at the various dolls, doing what crows do best.  Bother the /crap/ out of them by scratching at their eyes and pecking at their heads.  The idea wasn't direct confrontation, but rather to distract them while she soars up the platforms.

There wasn't anything else in her crosshairs at this point, get to the Witch and kill it, take the grief seed, and then enjoy life until it's power runs out and she has to feed it to the cat...bunny thing.
Sonic Sonic goes on a killing spree pre-emptively.

He immediately starts jumping up platforms, rolling up into a ball and homing into them like a blue cannon ball that sounds far too much like a buzzsaw for being a living biological creature.

"Warp space! These witches must be powerful to just make something like this. But screw it, I don't trust these doll things!"
Rebecca Chambers The stairs suddenly seem to end with no more in sight, and Rebecca finds that she's at the top. "That's strange, I could've sworn I had a longer way to go." She takes off her tactical shield and slips it onto her left arm before drawing her MP5K and enabling the laser sight on it. With a few deliberately slow steps, Rebecca slowly opens the door and moves inside... or does she?

The next thing she knows, she's suddenly in another place. Almost like she's traveled through a portal to a new world. Not that she's surprised by such a phenomenon happening, since she's been in the Multiverse for a long time, but the fact that she's gone from being in a tower to someplace like this briefly catches her off-guard.

Especially since she's on a platform now instead of on the roof like she'd expected previously. One of many, at that, which prompts her to put her shield away for the time being before hopping from one platform to another in an attempt to get upwards as well. She's not looking down either, since she doesn't want a case of vertigo or anything like that.
Sanary Rondel "Keep still, dumbass! The sooner you do, the sooner we can...! Oh." Sanary pins that person down as she watches the Witch's Barrier expanding to encompass the rest of the tower, furrowing her brow at the not-entirely-unexpected turn of events. Inconvenient, certainly, especially since the plan was all but nonexistent. "Yeah... Eh, we'll manage. Arthur! Can you do more of that weird gravity stuff?"

She waves at Arthur to try and get his attention, then points at the suspicious void below them. "Just in case!" She draws a pair of smaller axes from her coat, then starts running and leaping from platform to platform.

How do people make it look so easily? With Mikoto and Sonic going on the pre-emptive killing spree, the healer joins right in with them! Once she gets close enough, she even starts channeling magical energy to them through solid green lines of light to help them fight at their best and not feel tired in the slightest!
Rean Schwarzer And as soon as Rean gets up the stairs, everything changes. "Not again..." He mumbles, running up the platforms. He leaves the Familiars alone for now - They'll only slow him down if he riles them up.
Touta Konoe      "That's a relief at least." That's the only words he can think of saying when he sees Magic Cancel really coming into play so well. With all the Witch stuff he didn't know if this would be like a Soul Gem issue or not and thankfully it wasn't. Of course that was all prior to him following Arthur back up the stairs.

And that's when stair-related dangers ensue...Damn it! As disorienting sensations begin to envelope Touta just as he's about to take his next step on the stairs it's gone! He literally puts his foot down and feels himself start to plummet! His only saving grace is that there's a platform just close enough that his arm reaches onto it at the last second. He gets a full-on view into the bottomless abyss below them, if that's even what it was. Pulling himself back up he realizes they've all been taken into the Witch's world. The question was, what to do now?

Taking a look up at some of the others he could see that the others were going up. Some choosing to ignore familiars some choosing to go right at them. Wait...What's that blue blur hopping around?

Closer to the top of the platforms though he sees one person in particular. The same person that broke through the windows. He watches as she conjures her crow familiars who was ahead of most of the others. But that's when something comes to mind.

"If she's a Magical Girl too then..." She'll try destroying the witch before he can see who it was before hand. "Oi hang on!!!" He shouts from below but his voice can only echo perhaps being heard by some of the others who were a bit lower down. "Tch, alright if that's the case guess I just gotta get up there quick...Grasp the earth..."

And like that Touta puts it into gear! He uses the foot technique Shundo to accumulate Ki into his feet, and jumps from platform to platform with such speed that if Sonic was a blur of blue, right now Touta was trying to be a blur of black! So he hopped from platform to platform just trying to outspeed any familiars that might recognize him prioritizing catching up to the Magical Girl if all else.

He shouts out once more to her as he gets only a few platforms below her, "Hey! Hold on a second!"
Arthur Lowell     "I ain't got the time to WAIT UP when it comes to WITCH SHIT! I think. These guys got some CRAZY SHIT in motion, always!" Arthur calls to Touta, before it becomes clear that all this is being consumed. Arthur is familiar with Spires and Space Things. That means that when the tower is consumed, he's... A little prepared. Emotionally! Not in terms of expectations. But when he gets there, the dolls are definitely the confusing part. He's... not enthused about those MACHETES.

"Uhhhhh..." He looks to Sanary. "Well, can't guarantee my GRAVITY won't get OVERRIDDEN if I try to just, like," He snaps, and floats. "BETTER STUFF when it comes to REALITY SHIT like this if I take it with a bit of SCRAMBLING." Obviating the acent by reversing gravity would be foolish and would put him right in opposition with the Witch.

It's a more sensible thing by far to turn to the tower, slam his palm into it, and flood it with some of his own magic, populating its ascent with GRAVITY REVERSAL ZONES, GRAVITY-ROTATION ZONES, an assortment of GATES, and various other space bullshit to help improve the conditions of the climb and even flying ascent rather than simply remove it. While the familiars aren't attacking, Arthur is surprisingly more focused on this task, and assisting the group in moving on, than he is on attacking. "YEEEAAAAAH! Who wanna get some BOOSTS?! You wanna TOWER OF HEAVEN me, motherfucker, you best bring the OLDSCHOOL RULES."
Homura Akemi     An army of animals sets about the task of inconveniencing the Witch's Familiars a whole lot. It's effective, because Familiars are rarely renowned to be especially sturdy or threatening. They even provide convenient secondary bounce targets for Sonic! It might be faster to bounce off the dolls and bears than to use the platforms. There's certainly far more of them than there are platforms. But he's entirely too fast for them to bother him, either way.

Those who leave the Familiars be aren't bothered by them at all. That's because Sanary, Arthur and Mikoto just used MAGIC and triggered them. The flocks of teddy bears swoop in - the ones that are left, anyway - and swing their machetes, their faces suddenly splitting open to reveal smaller, deformed and demonic-looking dolls inside them.

The monkeys, like bindings, don't attack so much as they try to chain up the Puella Magi, the COOL KID and the mercenary!

    The dolls do nothing.

    Well, that's not true.
    They like, dance. And stuff.
    Wooooo, spooky.

With the tower now covered in tricks, courtesy of Arthur, to make ascent even faster, it's just a matter of clearing a way through the Familiars. But no matter how far you move up, the top never gets any closer. The Witch is certainly getting closer though. And so's an odd, rumbling sound, entirely too alike an avalanche.
Sumiko Mikoto is beset on by dolls with large knives, one comes down at her, and her blade moves up, aiming to block the blade with her own.  She narrows her eyes through the mask, aiming to kick the thing off the side of the platform.  Stupid familiars...and then a blue streak speeds by.

Sonic the Hedgehog and he can really move, she also guesses he has an attitude.  Quite possibly the fastest thing alive.  However, that was all she needed to see, her eyes squint, and there is a wash of green light that covers her.  Well now...

In a green streak, Mikoto jumps towards the dolls that come at her, aiming to just FLASH right by them, and swings her blade in an arch, aiming to split them down the middle.  However, with the sound of an avalanche coming, she is sure that the witch was about to come down, and attack.

So she pulls her blade up, and moves to position herself in a guard stance, looking towards Touta only enough to regard him.  "You're better off not being here right now.  This is not your fight."
Sanary Rondel "Makes sense... Hmm. Well, we'll just see if they do or do nnnot."

Sanary's not 100% sure what Arthur means by scrambling or... Well, most of what he's doing, but she takes what he does in stride and uses them to help speed up her climb! The creatures that swoop in receive axes to the faces for their trouble, their machetes smashed against by tomahawks wielded by someone that's probably practiced way too long just to show off against things like these.

"Doesn't feel like we're gettin' any closer to the top... Ergh. Does anyone hear that?" She peers upwards for a moment as she tries to get a better sense of where the Witch is, listening to that avalanche-like noise to try and gauge if heading inside/under something would be a better bet. The creatures that get by her defenses, meanwhile, find their efforts (somewhat) for naught as green light pours into the wounds to stem the bleeding and keep the healer on her feet!

Mikoto's and Touta's quarrel goes somewhat unnoticed by the heal, although not for a lack of hearing or seeing them. She's just not that familiar with either of them or whatever it is they're going on about.
Staren     Trouble is coming... and though the familiars aren't coming for /him/, they're trying to bind others, which will no doubt be a problem when they're trying to fight the witch.

Staren considers this for a few seconds, stopping on a platform, and then pulls what is clearly some kind of sniper rifle out of his bag, and starts shooting monkeys near his allies (and any familiars that come for him.) It shoots lasers!
Rebecca Chambers This mission just gets more and more stranger by the minute! Not that Rebecca has time to ponder just how weird it truly is. Instead, with more and more trouble coming by the minute, Rebecca knows that it's time to take action. Grabbing her shield again, Rebecca uses it to protect herself from any potential incoming attacks while using her MP5K to fight back.

"I'm gonna have a great story to tell Jill and Chris," Rebecca says to herself as she takes cover briefly before attacking again. "As long as we can stop this stupid witch!"
Sonic Sonic keeps trying to speed around, ending up with one of his legs tied up, which starts dragging one of the minions around with him as he continues to smash into them and go higher. But he tries not to go too quickly, wanting to help clear a path for the others.

"Whatever's coming, just keep moving!" He can feel himself able to go a bit faster, his level of energy higher for reasons unknown to him. Maybe someone's using magic, he doesn't know!

He finally lands on a platform, swinging a leg out to kick the monkey with its rope wrapped around Sonic's ankle.

Then he just stares up, and yells, "HEY WITCH!!! GET DOWN HERE AND FIGHT US, WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!!!"
Touta Konoe      It's attack of the barrier of the chimps! Except not really and that was a horrible joke. Any monkey that tries to bind him might find that it's really tough to do when he's pulls out the hoop again. Using Magic Cancel again he's trying to be less like Sonic and more like Mario when he's just nabbed a star! Sadly that means green streaks of support magic don't get applied to him though...

After more platforms and partially thanks to Arthur's support he finally makes it back up to where the masked Mahou Shoujo is. That when he hears the sound of the impending 'avalanche'. He remembers the last witch with those cars and because of that doesn't intend to just jump head first this time. Still waiting along side the stranger he gets quite the 'welcoming' response. To which he can only smile as he steps up to try and stand along side her.

If Mikoto had been watching the MECC matches at all the person standing at her side should seem somewhat more familiar. A kid probably around the same age as her whose attire was mostly black, yet even with all the dark colors always seemed so cheery. Hopefully his voice would ring a bell at the very least as he spoke.

"Maybe, but I'm here already. Besides...Before you take that grief seed there's something I wanna make sure of." Without another word he takes a stance as well as he prepares for the impending avalanche to come. This would probably be a very cool stance if in fact he was still not spinning the hula-hoop around his waist.
Arthur Lowell     "We don't gotta get to the TOP! We just gotta get to the WITCH! Bitch pro'lly still CLIMBING too! Gotta take her off the SPIRE, dawg!" Arthur calls out to Sanary. He's grappled by hookmonkies and their ignominious shenanigans, but thankfully he doesn't have to deal too much with their limitations. He can fly, after all! But once they chain him to the structure, that's when things get wonky. "Yo!" He shouts to them. "Fuck OFF, motherfuckers!" He has to solve the issue deftly, by weaving into GATES and closing them behind him to cut the chains with portal-slices!

That doesn't deal with the machetes. The others mostly have to handle that, but Arthur takes several near-misses and shallow slashes as they come after him. "It's like some MOTHERFUCKER tried to chat out the MOST HARMLESS WITCH and then someone else came up with some FUCKING BULLSHIT. What the HELL!!" He dives, weaves, leaps, and tries to swipe at them with his broom, mostly focusing on ascending rather than slaughter by numbers. "Fuckin' hate PLATFORMING BATTLE BULLSHIT." He calls out, clearly frustrated by the verticality of the battle that he can't afford to risk swapping to horizontality.
Rean Schwarzer Using the various Space-aspect trickery Arthur left on the tower, Rean ascends the tower rather quickly. Unfortunately, the top doesn't seem to be getting any closer. He turns towards the group that's being harassed by angry bears and swiftly unsheathes his sword, sending a small shockwave through the air at the harassing monkeys. And then there sound that was rather terrifying for someone who grew up in the mountains. "Crap, that's an avalanche!" Rean shouts, turning towards the noise. Was the witch just dumping more dolls at them? Was that the Witch herself coming down? "
Homura Akemi     Mikoto wins swordfights with machete-wielding teddy bears with ease; they're not skilled, just numerous. Not even especially fast! It's actually odd. Usually Familiars are at least a BIT more threatening than that.

Sanary carves them up too, her axes spilling fluff everywhere. Rebecca's guns do the same; white fluff explodes out of hit teddy bears. How gruesome.

People taunt the Witch a lot, while continuing to fight off the Familiars. The avalanche is getting closer - and a trick of the eye rolls up.

    Literally.

While the rumbling sound is coming from the top of the tower, what rolls up - yes, UP - is a massive wooden doll, like one of those Russian nesting dolls. Like a large bottle-shaped monster, with the image of a girl in a heavy coat painted on it. It crushes platforms as it rolls up and up, and then stops abruptly before it reaches the lowest of the party members.

    It rumbles and opens up.

The dolls, idly dancing until then, jump into the hollow void inside the massive wooden Witch. It snaps back shut, causing the tower to shake and stir.

It splits open again. There's another doll inside now. A little bit smaller than the massive one. Not by much. That one is painted quite angrily, with swords run through her instead of a coat.

A deafening screech shatters the Witch's Barrier, returning you all to ground level. You can distinctly hear it rolling away from the Radio Tower, like the sound of an avalanche continuing on and away.

Apparently Witches can choose to run away.
