Haguro Haguro's fight today is one that she's been looking to for a good while now. She hasn't seen much of the young Joestar in action, but she's certainly heard of his capabilities and news of his work in the MECC. She's looking somewhat anxious as she awaits his arrival at the arena, checking her turrets and armor while glancing towards the other side of the arena every now and then.

Today's battlefield: A massive lobby adorned with fancy statues, wide fountains, gleaming chandeliers, and a giant pile of unclaimed luggage. It may also just be a fancy-looking airport lobby, on second thought.
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan walks into the lobby, tall and proud. He's a giant of a man with regal, even pretty features and jet black hair. He came dressed in blue-and-black leather adorned with gold and carnelian gems, along with a striped tanktop. Part of him was thankful that the setting for battle this time was far less imposing than his previous bout -- there were no irregularities in the terrain that would prove to be disadvantageous.

"You're my opponent? I see ... my name is Jonathan Joestar. Let us do ourselves no dishonor .... begin!"

He only announced that he will aggress her after she seems to have fully gathered her bearings, before charging directly at her with a high-speed kick that passes a burst of Hamon to send her flying. "Kooh...!"

"If I don't stay on her, those cannons will surely be the end of me!" Jonathan said, mostly to himself.
Haguro "My name is Haguro, fourth of the Myoukou class Heavy Cruisers. It's a pleasure to face you, Mister Joestar!" Haguro offers Jonathan a bow in return and takes on a curious stance: Rather than that of her sisters or other shipgirls, she looks like she's taking the stance of... A wrestler?!

Yep, a wrestler. That kick is met not with a dodge, but with the shipgirl moving forward to take it head on. It doesn't go quite so well for her as she grunts painfully as that kick breaks off several pieces of armor at once, but it also puts Jonathan in arms' reach. Wasting little time, she grabs at his outstretched leg, aiming to use his momentum to hurl him behind herself!
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan's eyes widen. "That stance ... I expected her to use her weaponry, but she's going to wrestle me?!"

And somehow, indeed, she hurls the large man directly behind herself. Jonathan smashes through a wall, a mound of luggage and debris falling upon him. But, undaunted, the man pushes himself up.

For such a tiny girl, she packed a real whallop. But Jonathan wasn't to be counted out, as he quickly dashes back into close range, firing a jab at her. But, from her perspective, he was attacking far too early -- he'd never be able to actually land his blow at that range.

However, Jonathan's arm extends farther than it should. "Zoom Punch!"

The jab telescopes onto her face before he retracts the limb, healing the dislocation with ripple before showering her with a barrage of punches so quickly that they were leaving afterimages, electric crackles sparking at his knuckles.

        "Overdrive...!"
Haguro Note to self: Maybe don't try to throw the giant muscle-bound hot man without testing his weight first. Haguro winces slightly as she turns around to face Jonathan again, preparing for his next attack even while straightening out her remaining armor plates.

She just wasn't expecting him to get so close so fast. Bringing her arms up to block, there's a brief moment where it looks like he's just a bit too far to strike her. It's that moment where Jonathan's technique makes itself apparent, striking the shipgirl square in the arms when they're just loose enough that it puts most of that force right back into her! "Zoom..?! What kind of... I see!" No... No, she does not. She thinks she does, though, and she even smiles slightly at that. "Very impressive, Mister Joestar... Then I'll just have to show you one of my own techniques as well!

Tapping one foot behind her, it looks as if Haguro's just standing there with her arms braced at her sides. It's only when a blue glow flares up behind her legs that it looks as though she's just being propelled forward. As Haguro draws closer, she brings her arm up to try and slam it right across his chest/waist in passing!
Jonathan Joestar     "A glow ... rocket exhaust!"

Jonathan's assumption goes unverified as she tackles him, his teeth gritting as a giant force racks his whole body. But, he refuses to be downed, digging his feet into the finely tiled ground. The bigger man visibly struggles to stop her, before breathing in deeply.

His chest expands as waves begin to ripple in the air, circulating his Hamon through his body giving Jonathan the second wind necessary to try and flip the tables before she can put him to the ground. "That was impressive, but I won't lose! Hamon of the Sun!"

Golden-red lightning sparks around his hand as Jonathan attempts to deliver a karate chop to her neck, intending to send a surge of Hamon straight into her body with an electric shock.

This is bad, Jonathan thinks. That waistline tackle left a Haguro-shaped bruise all over his midsection, if she'd aimed higher, she might have seriously damaged his respiration. He couldn't afford to take another blow like that head on.
Haguro "Y.. You can even take this kind of hit? Amazing!" Haguro's arm keeps pushing forcefully as she tries to knock Jonathan over to no avail, unwilling to give up her ground despite the size difference. In any other circumstance, she'd probably be a blushing mess already, but... Well.

He's a gentleman. He's not like a certain other fighter, and that lets her focus solely on combat! The lightning crackling through his fist has her wary, but there's little she can do to avoid it at close range. The best Haguro can manage is to try and give it back as hard as she takes it, the combined force of his chop and the Hamon sending yet more painful energy through the Cruiser!

"But... You're still in range, Mister Joestar. Can you take this, then?" Despite her armor and uniform being wrecked in several places along with visible bruises and burns from Jonathan's attacks covering her neck and arms, Haguro doesn't move away in the slightest. Instead, she starts delivering rapid body blows to try and whittle down his defenses piece by piece!
Jonathan Joestar         "Guh..!"

Jonathan manages the damage as best he can, mitigating it with the healing properties of his Hamon. For Haguro, assailing Jonathan is like assailing a sturdy iron fortress -- even when you attack the cracks and chinks, it still stands strong. Then again, Jonathan's position wasn't terribly different in that regard.

When she rears her turret-plated arm for another punch, Jonathan suddenly brings his leg up to drive his knee straight into her chin. "There! I'll send you away with my Sendo Power!"r
Jonathan attempts to land a palm strike onto her chest, taking in a deep breath. "Sendo Hamon! OVERDRIVE!"

If successful, the swirling wave of force that passes through her body is intended to carry her several feet away, as if it were a powerful and hot wind. Jonathan needed to create the distance to recoup and regain his own poise.
Haguro Haguro can certainly feel Jonathan's overwhelming sturdiness between trying to clothesline him earlier and punching at him now. Her fists are pounding from the repeated impacts, and she actually slows down in her strikes when it's clear that she's going to tire herself out faster than him.

"Send me with... Sendo?" The alliteration draws a curious noise from the shipgirl, but it doesn't throw off her guard as Jonathan brings his knee up and narrowly avoids flattening her face. The palm strike strikes home, though, the burst of energy catching her off guard and sending Haguro right into the fountain with a nasty splash! She'd almost be fine if not for catching her foot on the rim, too, cracking it and causing water to spread throughout the arena floor.

"I'll need to ask you about that Hamon power in more detail sometime.. Ah! I-if you don't mind, that is." Flashing him a smile full of determination and grit, Haguro starts skating on the water, using it to build up speed as she aims for a sliding sweep to Jonathan's legs. It's not a particularly flashy technique, but it seems as though she's trying to get some energy back in the tank herself.
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan smiles with a polite warmth. "I'm more than happy to share what I know, miss."

But the time for pleasantries quickly comes to an end as they resume battle, their blows full of far less heat and power this time around. The sweep sends Jonathan to the wet ground, but he manages to catch himself with his hands, turning his fall into a front-flip. "Toh!"

"Since you asked, here's a lesson in conduction! The properties of Hamon are transitive, and now that the floor is slick, I can reach you from anywhere in this room!"

Slamming his hand down onto the floor, he transfers a surge of Hamon to give the boat-girl a good zap. Thankfully for her, the water wasn't abundant enough to carry any great amount of his ripple to her, the metal on her body acting like a lightning rod.
Haguro There's a time and a place for everything. Although Jonathan is certainly a pleasant enough person, Haguro has to remind herself that they're still locked in GLORIOUS COMBAT. Without realizing it, she's given Jonathan the means to attack her from anywhere!

"Transit... Oh! I remember hearing about this at the base a long time ago..." She muses on her own studies from back in the day, standing her ground and hissing as that electricity surges through her. Despite her own increased mobility, the fact that Jonathan can attack her from anywhere is going to be troublesome! Haguro's solution: Tearing off her remaining armor plates and finally unleashing her turret.

Without even looking, the turrets point straighten out as they blow a hole right into the ground besides her! It doesn't hold all of the water that's pouring out of the fountain, but it gives the Cruiser a respite from the constant shocking. Pulling off a glove next, she flings it right at one of the many cameras showing off these two's duel and breaks into another run/skate for Jonathan. "Water's good for Fleet Daughters, too... We might not be able to use it as a weapon like that, but we can move faster and maneuver more easily. That means we can even do things like this!" She leaps for the Hamon-user, but her trajectory is much too shallow to actually land on top of him. At most, she'd just land at his feet!

Right where she wants to be. She's not aiming to grab him by the head or chest, but to ram herself right into his legs!
Jonathan Joestar     "I see ... ! That maneuverability is -- "

Jonathan doesn't finish, his legs buckling under the force of the kick. He's sent down to one knee, putting him at eye level with the boat-girl. His deep blue eyes sharpen with determination. "By draining most of the water, you've removed my advantage ... but that isn't the only form my ripple can take!"

Jonathan coils like a spring, bringing one arm low. His whole body was emitting fierce waves of Hamon. But it was starting to coalesce into that fist and turn a bright, hot red.

        "Explode! SCARLET RED OVERDRIVE!"

Pushing himself forward with incredible force, Jonathan launches his burning fist straight towards Haguro's un-armored chest with a fiery Hamon punch!

If it lands, his Hamon erupts like a bomb.
Haguro Being up close for wrestling and fighting? No problem. Being up close to get a good look at that chiseled face, that built form, those piercing blue eyes? Big problem. It's not the worst distraction she's faced in this tournament, but it's still sufficiently distracting enough that she can't quite react in time when Jonathan's fist explodes upwards with that fiery Hamon energy.

Haguro's best chance, then, is to improvise. She can already feel the heat radiating from his fist before it hits her, and her arms aren't close enough to block against it. There's still one tried and true method that's worked for previous fights, though, and she has to believe in it if she wants to stay in this fight! The blow strikes true, starting to lift her right off her feet with that explosion, and then the shipgirl disappears!

... Right. She disappears. That's normal, right? One moment, Jonathan is punching an explosion at her, and the next moment, she's gone. Should he keep looking up, he'll see that the shipgirl has reappeared far above him, roughly where she would be if she had been launched directly! "That was a close one... If not for that Abyssal ability to phase through things, I'd have been finished. But now...!"

Why's she narrating this? It feels right, probably. Twisting herself in mid-air, Haguro's arms and legs are held almost straight out as she descends rapidly at Jonathan poised to land on him with full force. In wrestling parlance, it'd be called a frog splash!
Jonathan Joestar     Jonathan gasps. "That attack ... !"

Though he remained blissfully unaware of the anxiety he had been causing his opponent, he was very astute in determining her form mid-air. It brought forth a solemn memory of a departed comrade, and as if by instinct, Jonathan went through the same motions to nullify Haguro's maneuver as Dio had done to Dire.

Though with her extremeties in his grasp, Haguro thankfully wouldn't find herself being flash-frozen but rather, he pulls the ship girl down and holds her close.

It would no doubt be an awkward affair for an engaged man if he didn't immediately suplex her afterwards. "This is it..!"
Haguro Haguro's looking ready to land that decisive blow on Jonathan as gravity handles any speed and accuracy issues, but when Jonathan outright CATCHES her in that maneuver...

Well, she shouldn't be too surprised. She's seen that happen quite a few times by people shorter and less built than Jonathan himself. It's a good learning opportunity, if nothing else! Plus, it's not necessarily a bad feeling.

Right until the suplex, anyway. That is a much worse feeling when she gets slammed into the ground, although it does snap her back to reality! Painfully, but still. Still in a bit of a daze as she lays on the ground besides Jonathan, the blue lights on the back of her armored leotard thing go full blast as Haguro goes for her last-ditch effort!

This time, she tries to grab Jonathan by the waist, but doesn't go for a suplex or anything like that. Instead, she starts thrashing about to try and get him off his feet long enough to start rolling around like a confusing ball of limbs slamming every which way. It's not a particularly graceful maneuver, but it's the throes of someone that knows that she might not have much left in the tank!
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan finds himself in a tangled mess of limbs, banging around on the hard ground in a tough and gritty tumble that if not for the pain racking his body, his breathing compromised, would have reminded him of the tussles he used to get into as a boy.

Yet somehow, even with Haguro's desparate attack, Jonathan finds it within himself to get her off of his diaphram and take one final, deep breath.

His whole body revitalizes, allowing him to make one last Sendo Wave, pressing his middle and index fingers into her forehead in an attempt to send her flying straight into the chandeliers above.
Haguro Haguro's panting heavily as she and Jonathan are both on their last legs, the former unable to stop the latter from slipping his arm out. If not for all the bruises and blood/oil/whatever it is boats leak, it'd probably look different! As part of this tournament, however, the crowd is certainly getting their money's worth!

It's time for Haguro to think fast. Blocking with her hand isn't an option. Trading hits isn't an option. Dodging? She can try and move, but it's of no use as Jonathan's hand presses right against her head, and the surge of Hamon energy sends her right into those chandeliers! The fight ends in an explosion of glass, lights, and simulated flames as Haguro falls right back down after going through the chandelier a second time, drifting downwards like some kind of... Some kind of...

There's not really any sort of comparison to make here that would sound even remotely like a fairy tale. What kind of princess gets blasted through a chandelier twice?!
Jonathan Joestar Jonathan collapses onto his back, finally able to breathe easy. He has the good sense to look a little sheepish after everything is said and done though. Their surroundings fade away and both of them are left refreshed and restored by the power of The Shrine of Adversity.

Indeed, it was a place he found truly intriguing. Pushing himself up off the ground, Jonathan makes his way to the boat-girl and offers his hand. "Thank you for battling me, miss. You were a ferocious adversary -- I cannot tell a lie; I hadn't expected a young lady of your size to be my equal in hand-to-hand combat. It was stunning."
Haguro Even with her wounds healed and her energy restored, Haguro lays on the ground a bit longer to just get her wits about her. It's not until Jonathan comes over with an outstretched hand that she finally gets up with his assistance, a satisfied smile covering her face.

"Thank you, too, Mister joestar. I learned a lot from our fight, and it was... It was an exciting match!" She actually giggles for a moment before clearing her throat, trying to sound somewhat proper with a more restrained chuckle. "I don't think I'm anywhere near your equal at all, but.. Eh?"

Wait. Did he just call her stunning? She's pretty sure he did even though he really didn't, but wishful thinking makes people hear things. She stammers something incoherently under her breath, turning red and avoiding eye contact rather suddenly. "... O-one day. I hope."
