Penelope Vasquez             Boston. A muggy summer night.

The warpgate address provided by the Bureau directs to a massive, industrial thing, clearly the top of some skyscraper; it seems closed, aside from shirt-and-khaki dressed guards, which chatter idly among themselves and exchange strange looks with the crew as they gather. Outside the window, the city is drowned in a sea of light, windows and vehicles and streetlamps and advertisements beyond where the eye can see. It's beautiful, in a way. And the ceramic and marble lobby the warpgate is situated within is a comfortable place to view it all. Once all are assembled, a guard directs the assembled down a freight elevator to the street, which opens directly onto a loading warehouse. A limo is waiting, hovering a few inches off the ground. The door swings open.

Within, a short and chubby woman in a bright orange sweater is eating some froyo, and greets the party with a practiced smile. She looks entirely normal, but for the wire embedded in her skull, looping from the top of her eye and back into her head just above her ear. "Good evening, and thank you for coming. On behalf of the Bureau of Domestic Defense and the Union, welcome to Boston." A quiet lightbulb-like hum signals the vehicle's movement. She passes a few small boxes around; headsets and tiny clip-on cameras. "My name's Monica. I'll be your handler for tonight. We have a bit of a drive ahead of us, so get comfy, ask questions. I'll let you know when we're closing and fill you in on details."
Lory Thumper      The mission details that were given seemed pretty straight forward to Lory. Which immediately made her suspicious. This is the Multiverse, and even in her short stay so far the bunny cop has learned that nothing is straight forward or normal. She rides the elevator down in moderate silence, only speaking up if someone speaks to her. Once inside the limo she settles in and puts on the headset and camera. She actually wears a set at all times already, but when an employer gives you equipment you use it.

When Monica introduces herself, Lory holds gives a salute. "Officer Lory Thumper, MPD. Glad to be along for some gangbusting." she says, then looks around at the others gathered while she checks her weapons. Most notably two semi-futuristic looking pistols. "So, what's the warrant for? What kind of resistance are we expecting? Is it just a typical raid against a small gang or are we looking at a militant faction?"
Nova Terra     An opportunity to learn about another world, it's organisations, threats AND take out a bunch of thugs in the process? Nova's onboard for that. She arrives through the warpgate already wearing her hostile environment suit. She hardly wears anything else after all. But she is also carrying a somewhat large case a long with her. Likely her weapons.

Nova eyes the security on the other side of the warpgate, initially suspicious of them. But they seem to be there simply as guides, so Nova follows their directions down the freight elevator.

Arriving at street level, Nova eyes the limo waiting for them, "... Not bad. I've ridden in worse." Climbing in, Nova blinks for a moment at the rabbit that's already inside... Okay. Nova settles in and watches their 'handler' closely. For introductions, the Ghost simply replies, "Nova." She takes the offered headset and camera, attaching them to a couple of points on her visor where they can interface with her existing tech. She then waits quietly, listening closely as questions are asked.
Laina Reliah      Laina turns the equipment over in her hands, examining the given technology thoroughly before attaching it to her catlike ears and clothing. She sits quietly for a moment, fingers fiddling with the multitude of gadgets and equipment on her belt. She was stil new here, but she had been through enough wringers to agree with Lory's quiet assessment. Nothing is as simple as it seems. Laina crossed her legs in a plush limo seat, fingers tapping at a gas mask hanging from her neck. Many thoughts ran through her mind, lots of questions that she found answers to for herself. Only after quite some time of silence and thought, possibly after others had already asked their questions, did Laina open her mouth.

"I understand we have options, but I want to know what you would prefer." Her eyes fix on Monica's froyo, of all things, though she speaks directly to the chubby woman. "Is your preference that they be apprehended as nonlethally and nondestructively as possible, or would you rather an end be put the the problem permanantly." She shrugs. "Any option in between will do as well. I only want to know what our employers would prefer. I prefer having lines to color between."
Penelope Vasquez     Monica smiles primly, leaning back into the cushions of the limisuine, spooning at her frogurt over time. She seems more bemused by Lory than anything else; the rest are given professional once-overs, but evidently, she has little to note. The woman has all the tension of someone on their way to pick up creamer for the office. The salute is returned to the bunbun, before she shifts, pulling a tablet from beside her. Visual references show up in time with her speech as she fills the gang in. "Professionals, I like it. Nice to meet you Officer, catgirl, obvious governmental agency spook. Settle in."

The tablet cuts to an image of a simple apartment complex. It's a brutalist concrete box, studded with rectangular windows at regular intervals. The shot is from the ground; the thing stretches fifty stories into the sky. "Your targets are apartment thirty-five eleven and thirty-five seven. Both on, obviously, the thirty-fifth floor. The elevator stops at the twenty fifth, where the 'luxury' boxes end. So, hope you like climbing stairs." Another cut; security camera stills of what can only be gang members breaking into a gunstore. Men in white with orange bandanas around their faces; their outfits vary from pristine suits to track pants, the only common denominator the splash of orange on their outfits. "Within the apartment are known members of the Phantomas Vengadores. Local insurgency. Row Row Fight The Power assholes, remnants of the civil war back in the Seventies. They were responsible for the Albany bombings. The kind of assholes who blow up theme resturaunts to get at the kids of any corporate citizens that might happen to be playing there." Monica's disdain is clear on her face. She chews on her plastic spoon. "These aren't expected to be real soldiers or anything; these are the big-brain thinkers and some guards. There's going to be about twenty of them between both apartments. You're expected to scare them, and the organization they represent; how you do that is to your discretion. If you believe the way to do that is to paint the walls, paint the walls, we won't be shedding any tears. Just make it flashy. Make sure they know we were here." The tablet flips again- a simple seal of a five-pointed star within a black circle, BODD stenciled through the middle. "You're acting as contractors for the Bureau Of Domestic Defense here. Foremost domestic information and military coordination company in the Union. We, A, minimize civilian casualties, and B, protect the public interest. If you're identified as Bureau by a civilian, you're authorized to liquidate them- but, you don't really look like any of ours. So, shouldn't be a risk of that."

The whole time, the vehicle barely feels like it's moving. Monica's eyes dart to empty space- then back to the crew. "We're getting close. I'll be in your ears and seeing through the cams as off-site support. We're letting you out a couple blocks away. I can feed you floorplans and info as needed. Any further questions?"
Laina Reliah      Laina shrugs, leaning against the car door as she stares out the window, waiting for the group to arrive. Her tail is wrapped firmly around one leg, covered by clothing and out of the way. A soft hum of though escapes her throat as she turns a dial on something attached to her hip. "Right. Free reign. We'll be in and out quickly, if they're truly as ragtag and unprepared as you said."

Laina sighs, affixing her gas mask to her face. There is a soft hiss as it seals, cutting her off from the air around her. A muffled grunt drifts from her throat as she tightens it, then pulls her hood over her head. "...so long as my comrades appreciate efficient work. I'll do my best to... accomodate for otherwise-inclined moral compases."
Lory Thumper      Lory greets each of the other members of the team when they enter the limo...and there's Staren again. Is he everywhere? She also notes Laina's cat ears and Nova's lack of identifiers. Government spook indeed.

Lory listens to Monica's briefing, her ears perking at the woman every now and then. When the briefing is finished, she frowns lightly. "I'm an officer, not a black ops killsquad member. So, I won't be killing anyone if I can help it, and I -ESPECIALLY- won't be 'liquidating' any civilians that just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." she says, crossing her arms over her chest firmly. "And I don't really like this idea of a terroristic attack with no intention of arrests. But, if that's how you guys operate here then fine. Do these apartments have exterior windows? Those would make a good entry point for a surprise insertion while other team members go in through the doors. I can toss some pepper gas grenades in to disorient them. But I have to advise against 'painting the walls'. That will most likely just anger the group into more action. We should endeavor to leave as many alive as possible while making them feel as powerless as possible. So, disable the guards then make sure the leaders know that you could take them at any time."

The bunny doesn't sound happy with that plan. More like she's trying to make the best out of what sounds like it would be outright illegal in her city. Speaking of which, she asks, "...is this operation sanctioned by the visible government?"
Nova Terra     Nova does do spooky things. It's true.

Nova listens along to the description of the types of people they'll be going up against. She nods along knowingly, "I know the type. I've dealt with many like them. They're typically not worth any mercy." Though to Lory's concerns about killing them, Nova adds, "But they can also be dangerous in their fanaticism. So I doubt we'll get through this without putting down at least some of them."

Nova gives Monica a bit of a strange look for some reason. It doesn't last for long.

Nova too notices the gas mask of Laina. She proceeds to reach back, slipping her ponytail into her suit and then pulling a full head mask over her head. Just in case the woman is in fact going to go all out on gas. Nova does respond though as she pulls her visor down over her eyes to seal the suit, "You'll get no problems from me in that regard."
Penelope Vasquez     Monica coughs softly into a hand at Lory's rather sharp criticism, looking more moved than you might expect from someone who, evidently, does this sort of thing all the time. Perhaps she doesn't often hear it from cute rabbits. "There are exterior windows. They enter into a central hallway in both apartments; should just be a mirrored floorplan. The only issue is that they're thirty five stories in the air, but if you can scale the exterior, that'll certainly be an excellent entrance. I can point out the windows in specific for you." She straightens a bit, setting her screen down. "But that tone in your voice, The 'is this sanctioned' tone? Drop it. We /are/ the government of the Northeastern Union. The Bureau represents the largest holder in domestic intelligence and military action in the Union. Anything we do comes from high up on the chain. And- we continue to hold that position because of our results and how consistently we meet our quotas." A soft sigh, her tone firm. "We're the good guys, Officer. We keep scum like the people you're about to meet from running rampant."

The limo stops, quiet as a whisper. The door opens to an empty street, the streetlamps here burnt out. "The apartment in question is a block west. We'll pick you up at the front door. Keep in contact, stay safe, good luck."

Once the crew has disembarked, the unmarked vehicle retreats into the winding streets, and vanishes down an alley. Ahead, the concrete cube stretches into the sky, dotted with lights and glass windows.
Laina Reliah     "Independant." Laina says simply as she adjusts her gloves and looks up at the building, directly at the windows Monica had pointed out. She stretches, standing tall now that she was out of the limo. "Rabbit, considering the fact that you came up with the idea, I assume you have a way to get up there. If not, I can be the window breacher. Either way, one of us goes with Spooky. I don't care overmuch which."

The cat cracked her neck, making sure her clothes were fully sealed and her equipment was at one hundred percent. "Though someone does need to throw your little pepper ball into the rooms."
Nova Terra     The limo arrives and Nova climbs out. She takes a moment to look up at the building, before kneeling down and placing her case down in front of her.

Opening the case, Nova pulls out several pieces and assembles them into her canister rifle. Some more parts are pulled out and attached to her suit in various places. Finally she grabs her psi-blade, placing the deactivated weapon on her back.

Standing once more, Nova presses a button on the case before throwing it away. The object hits the ground, but quickly disintegrates into dust.

Chambering a round into her rifle, Nova begins to walk towards the main entrance of the building. She is planning to head for the elevator. However she says back to the others, "You two should stick together." Blue light washes over Nova as she is quickly hidden from view by her cloaking device. Her voice then echoes from thin air, "I'm more of a solo operative."
Lory Thumper      Even as Laina is speaking to her, Lory is pulling a tool that is very obviously a grapple gun from her belt. "I'll take the windows." she says, then looks at Laina. "And the name is Lory." she adds, then taps her riot helmet and a holographic HUD appears. "We'll probably have to hit one aparment fast and hard, then be prepared for a more dangerous fight for the other." she says as she hops out of the limo, then looks back to Monica. "If you are the goodguys, why do you have to keep it secret?" she asks. She doesn't really wait for an answer, just lets the question hang in the air before dashing off.

She heads into the alley as well, wall runs up a good distance, then starts using her grapple gun. She fires, it quickly pulls her up, and she kicks off and does it again, skillfully and acrobatically making her way upward. The grapple line is fairly long, so she should only have to do this a few times to get up to the window in question. Once up, she braces against the wall outside the first apartment (whichever it is) and pulls a number of disc-shaped objects from her belt. "Alright...here we go." she says quietly over the comm, then with as little glass breakage as she can Lory tosses in smoke and gas grenades, followed by a flashbang to get the attention of the guards and draw them into the hall if possible.
Laina Reliah     Laina follows Lory into the alleyway, tightening the magitech claws on her palms. She presses a button on her belt, affixing a similar grappling device to Lory's to her harness. "Mhm. Laina," is the only response. She watches Lory rush up the wall, waiting for a moment just to see how she did it. Then, it was her turn.

She jumped onto the wall, taking a four-points approach and rapidly climbing up the sheer concrete, the spikes on her palms digging into the rough stone. She makes it up to Lory as the Officer is pulling out her disks. Only then does she launch her hook, digging it into the wall a good distance above the window. "I'll cover you," Laina says as she draws her rifle, the device unfolding in her hands to its full length. She pokes it into the window just after Lory's grenades blow, aiming into the room.
Penelope Vasquez      Nova's infiltration goes flawlessly. The only person in the lobby at this hour is a bored ninteen-looking attendant reading a magazine behind the counter. She doesn't even look up as the elevator arrives, and then carries the Spook upwards. The muzak is pleasant, and asserts that the Girl from Impenema does indeed make the boys go aaaah as she passes. It shudders to a stop at the twenty fifth floor. An annoying amount of stairs later, she's in the hall- each exactly the same, apart from doormats occasionally placed before an entryway. There's not much noise out here. Until, of course, Nova can hear glass shatter in one of the apartments- followed by a ringing BANG as Lory's flashbang goes off.

Lory's ascent is acrobatic and silent, mostly, as is Laina's. As the pair near the window, they both can hear music blasting at an extreme volume; the UNCE UNCE UNCE of electronica beats that probably rate about a four out of ten will be ringing in Lory's oversized ears for some time. The crack of glass probably wouldn't even be noticed by the people partying in the living room! It is, however, noticed by someone on guard duty in the hall, reading the same magazine as the clerk downstairs, until the glass cracks. He only has time to let out a 'huh?' before Lory's grenades are tossed in, filling the hall with a hellish mixture of smoke, pepper, and earshaking BANG. The armed man collapses to his knees, scrabbling for a bright orange kerchief to be used as an impromptu air filter. He's dropped his weapon on the floor. Somewhere in the smoke, the pair can hear a door slam open, followed by hacking coughs and that same door slamming shut.
Nova Terra     Nova is glad that she sealed her suit in preparation for this or that pepper smoke would have been irritating. Her visor, which also covers her ears, helps dull the sound of the blast.

Expecting the two loud ones to be going for the target apartment that's closest to them, Nova heads for the other one. As she stalks up to the door, she reaches out with her mind to take hold of it. Given this appears to be just a normal apartment building, it's unlikely the doors will be sturdy enough to resist the Ghost's psychic grip. So Nova proceeds to use her telekinesis to rip the door from its hinges and send it flying into the room. Nova's outline is likely just barely visible as she slips into the room amidst the smoke that now rushes in. She doesn't expect to go unnoticed for long, but while she has the advantage she attempts to capitalize on it.

The first crook that Nova comes to she attempts to neutralize him with a smash to the back of the head with the butt of her rifle. She then fires off a shot at another on the other side of the room, her cloak rippling in the process as it fails to fully compensate for the sound. Nova then swiftly moves on from her firing position to a new location, both to try and avoid return fire and also create confusion amongst the gang and maybe get them to fire blindly and possibly hit each other.
Lory Thumper      Lory pulls her ears down and covers them to protect against the flash bang, then reaches to put on her own mask...then feels about on her uniform for a few moments before sighing. She asks Laina for a loaner, then after slipping it on finally kicks off from the wall and swings back in on her grapple to smash through. She rolls to burn off momentum, then lands on her belly. Sharp ears make note of just how far away the door was that opened and closed even while she pulls another grenade off her belt. The disc-shaped grenade is thrown like a ninja star toward the guard at the end of the hall, and when this one explodes it unleashes a surprisingly large amount of riot foam. A substance that covers someone like a massive amount of lathered soap before hardening within seconds to lock someone in place.

She pulls one of her pistols after than along with her shield, then makes her way toward the first door before waiting for Laina. Assuming more guards don't appear first.
Laina Reliah     Laina steadies her gun on the windowsill as Lory jumps in first. Then the officer goes to her belly, Laina fires a shot at the man on the floor, aiming right at his leg to keep him on the ground. Once the foam is spread and Lory is up and moving, Laina raises herself up to the window, kicks off, and swings inside.

Her grapple releases the wall as she swings inside, allowing her to land on her feet and step inside. She plants a foot on the back of the poor fella who got flashed, gassed, and shot, kicking his gun away and pressing down on his body. "Remember," she murmurs, her voice muffled through the mask. "Find Barduk. Knock everyone else on their asses. Speaking of," she stomps on the man's back, looking down at him as she keeps her gun aimed at the door. "You him?"
Penelope Vasquez      Lory and Laina make an effective team. The man is too busy gagging to dodge the foam-packed projectile, locking him to the floor and against the wall; the bullet to the leg is probably overkill, but certainly ensures he stays down. He coughs and gags as the smoke and gas disperses, staring up at Laina- not Barduk. Too tan. "Fah, fuck you, pig!" He tries to bite at an ankle, ineffectively, before just struggling at his bindings.

The sounds of Party in the other room have stopped. Lory can hear the shuffling of people through the door- a sizable amount. Racking of weapons and the shifting of furniture- and the door clunks as something heavy is pressed into the other side. A muffled voice, authoritative-sounding. "Get the girls in the panic room. You, you, you, in with me. Someone get me a phone, they must've heard about the Semtex, need to call Command. Think I heard 'em shoot Carlos out there." The door may not be an excellent option. There's a second door, further down the hall; Monica quietly informs that it should lead to a few dormitories with adjoining walls to the living room, and a toilet. There's also a vent in the bottom of the wall, which, if you take the right turns, should lead above the living room. "Going to call that guy in the hall as bagged. Make sure he doesn't choke on gas. Good work."

A few doors down the hall, Nova is in the middle of a shooting gallery. The door is slammed off the wall and into the opposite, and Nova runs head-first into a small gaggle of goons who were gearing up to go investigate the noise in the other apartment. The guy at the front is too shocked by the door suddenly disappearing to react as Nova beans him right in the head; the others quickly fall back, narrowly avoiding gaining unwanted new holes as smoke and bullets pour in. They hide however they can; behind doorframes, mostly. On a vocal three-count, the hallway is filled with a blind spray of lead, concentrated on the entryway.

In the apartments between these two firefights, the occupant sweats quietly in his armchair and turns up his TV to a deafening volume to drown it out.
Lory Thumper      Hey, look at that! A convenient vent! Lory gives Laina a bit of a look for shooting the already foamed guy, but doesn't say anything for now. "Sounds like there's quite a few inside, and they have a panic room. That should mean only the guards will be in the main room." she says to Laina, then points at the vent. "I'll go through there, but it sounds like they barricaded the door. You might have to make a more...noticable entry." she says, then quietly removes the vent grate before heading inside and closing it behind her.

She makes her way silently through the vent, using her ears and knowledge of which direction it should be to guide her toward the target apartment. Once she reaches the vent to that room she tries to peek through the grating to get a look at the people inside. Once she has a good idea of their positions, she sets a gas and smoke grenade right on the inside of the grate so that the ventillation will blow both into the room. Then she backs up to give the grenades a chance to work...and to try and avoid any incoming wild fire from trigger happy guards.
Nova Terra     Nova dives for cover as all the gunfire starts up. The cover she chooses is a couch. She chose poorly. A couch is not going to stand up to repeated gunfire for long. And already the bullets are starting to punch through and impact Nova's suit. Thankfully their speed is slowed enough to not penetrate the hard artificial muscle fibre. But that won't last long either.

Nova calls out, "Look, if you surrender now. I might not turn your minds into mush." That's about the only offer Nova is going to give at this point.

Nova decloaks, letting her form reappear as the element of surprise is now completely gone. She doesn't dare get up at to fire yet. Not with the risk of getting focused on too high. That essentially makes Nova pinned down.

    But thankfully she has alternatives.

Glancing around, Nova starts looking for solid objects. Tables, chair, bookcases, TVs. Anything that will make the goons think twice about poking around their cover. Nova then starts to pick them up with her mind, using her telekinesis to throw the objects at said goons.
Laina Reliah      "Note to self, steal some pepper bombs from Lory." The muffled nature of Laina's voice makes it difficult to tell whether or not she was joking. But there was something else more important to do. Laina stowed her gun as she stepped towards the door that the guards were getting ready behind, pulling one of her contraptions from her belt. She drops to one knee near the door, unfolding a metal square onto the floor. The square squeaks softly as the springs resist, then clicks as it locks into place. The trap would likely not make someone stop moving altogether, but it would most certainly cling to their leg and hurt. A lot. So she put two more down, just to be certain, then overturned a small sack. Out of the sack spilled at least two dozen caltrops, all spreading along the floor around the trio of leg traps. Anyone who didn't fall on them were definitely going to have to hope they had thick boots. Laina pulls out one of her small gas traps, weighing it in her hand... then sighs and stows it. Her current superiors would get mad. Next time. With her trap laid, Laina drew her rifle again, gave the door a two-fingered salute, then turned and ran through the second door, gun raised and ready to fire at any resistance she may find past the threshold.

    Specifically, at their knees.
Penelope Vasquez      Nova is having a hell of a party as the firefight moves from the entry hall to the livingroom, her cover rapidly evaporating as the grunts within panic and mag-dump their boxy little SMGs into the furniture. And then, almost all at once, cliclicclicclic, as they run out, and fumble in the darkness for a reload- the bullets going, y'know, everywhere, knocked out the lights, the only illumination the city glow from outside. The room is full of the usual things you'd find in a living room; table, a couple chairs, a television. And there's an attached kitchen with a nice, heavy fridge. Unfortunately for the gangers, this is all Nova really needs in the seconds she has. One man is turned into jello as a fully loaded fridge slams him into the kitchen island he was hiding behind. Another shrieks as he's domed by half a lamp. There's honestly not much they can do; it's not often psychic shock troops assault your living room and kitchen attache. Once half of them are incapacitated or out for good, the others throw their weapons down, cradling broken limbs where they have them. The gunsmoke clears as men grunt in pain and whimper. And- there's whimpering coming from a bedroom.

Lory and Laina's combined efforts are just what the doctor ordered. The only issue on Lory's end is the boxy little laser-activated trap in the vents. She sees it coming before it sees her, thankfully; it's a jury-rigged little thing, either a makeshift explosive made of shotgun shells, or just a crude weapon. Thankfully, it doesn't react to simply being picked up and tilted against the wall. She backs up, and waits a moment.

In the room, guards are hiding behind couches, turned over bookshelves, and- again, kitchenware. The apartments are basically identical. There's a heavy-duty vault door set into the wall of this one, rather than a bedroom door. Eight men are stacked in there, waiting for an assault, jumpy and jittery. And then coughing hell explodes from the vents. They saw the gas from outside, they're all using bandanas as masks- a few even have full face-covering helmets on! But they're still effected. Coughs to the others, "They're in the vents! Shoot, we'll flank!" His fellow gangsters follow orders, and fire exactly where the grenades popped- which, thankfully, is where Lory is not. One other shoves the chair holding the door closed aside before stepping out- directly onto a beartrap, loosing a gurgled, cursing scream before aiming his weapon at the gasmask'd catgirl. Fire is diverted from Lory's vent to the front door. A lot of it. Oh dear. On top of that- the vent in the ceiling groans, it's structural integrity failing thanks to bullet. Lory is about to fall into the rat's nest with the rest of the vent!
Nova Terra     Nova blinks as the gunfire directed at her dies down. And after waiting several seconds to see if they reload and continue the assault, Nova slowly rises from her cover to take a look. Huh. That was easier than she expected. Though the groaning some of them are giving off indicate that they're not all dead.

It's debatable whether they're the lucky ones or not.

Nova quickly handles those still alive by ripping some cords from appliances and using them to tie up the goons. But the whimpering from the bedroom soon draws the Ghost's attention.

Nova moves to press herself up against the wall beside the opening to the bedroom. She then steps into it, raising her rifle and sweeping it around the room in preparation of taking out further hostiles.
Lory Thumper      Lory almost missed that trap. Who'd have thought these guys were actually smart enough to expect some kind of entry through the vents? Lory hold her breath unconsciously as she repositions the laser. When she hears the door open and the ducting groaning, she doesn't back away. Instead, she makes sure her shield is in place on her back, then kicks downward with both legs. With the duct weakened, she figures she should be able to kick through and drop down to the floor.

Once she is in the room, Lory moves quickly. Almost blindingly fast. Riot foam grenades are thrown at every badguy she spots, and those who try to struggle through the foam find shots from her twin Gauss pistols targeting their arms. With her precision shooting, Lory intends to disable any shooters rather than kill them. And hopefully she'll drive some out through Laina's traps!
Laina Reliah     Not quite as cool under pressure as Nova is, Laina sucks in a sharp breath when she sees the barrel of a gun pointed in her direction. She drops to the floor, firing off a shot in the gangster's direction, then rolling into cover. She whispers a string of curses as bullets fly above her head. She chambers another round, scrambling towards the toilet on her rear end.

"We kicked the hornets' nest!" she shouts, pulling the pin on a grenade and flinging it into the hallway. The grenade would explode in a shower of glass when it rolled to a stop. Not her favorite toy, but as long as it wasn't gas and wasn't killing them, it was probably fine. Not that Laina planned to be around to see the damage.

She planted a small bomb on the thin wall next to her, covering her head as is exploded and blasted a hole in the wall. The moment it went off, she rolled through the hole she'd made and into the living room, hoping her fuck-this-shit-I'm-out landed her in a better area.
Penelope Vasquez      As Nova steps into the bedroom, a tall, thin, and gangly woman hiding behind the door beans her over the head with a baseball bat. She's not an MLB pro or anything, but it still probably stings, hard. When Nova doesn't immediately crumple, the woman herself does, pressing herself into the wall and curling against it on the floor. She's mumbling something about her house, her Johnny, through tears, but collects herself enough to properly address the spook. "Jus, please, please don't hurt me. Who- why are you here, who are you? What'd we do?" Monica whispers into Nova's ear, tone a bit hard. "...records say that's Barduk's S-O. Collect her. I didn't see him on your camera, must be in the other apartment."

In said other apartment, it's a blur of activity. Lory flings herself directly into harm's way, pouncing into the living room and flinging foam-laden ninja stars all around! The guard's attention was drawn towards the front door, and they turn too slow to get a bead on the bouncing bunny. Laina's glass grenade goes off in the doorway, flinging lacerating shards into the room- incapaciating many of the guards the bun hadn't already gotten to! The living room wall explodes, the catgirl having made a loop in the small apartment, and she rolls into the place- as the last guard goes down under the bun's snapshot accurate fire. The smoke clears, the floor laden with foam-locked or bleeding-and-groaning men. An intercom near the vault-like door rattles with that same authoritative voice as before, hesitant now. "...can't hear anything going on out there anymore. Guys? You alright?"

Monica cuts in to everyone's mic with a soft crackle, icy tone chipping with worry. "...speaking of hornet's nest. We're- fffuck, fuck. Keep going, you're doing well. I'm seeing unfriendly movement outside."
Nova Terra     The number of people in the building and general vicinity makes it difficult for Nova to pick up on the woman's presence until it's too late. By which point Nova has a large bump on her head. She groans a little as she moves a hand to it, "D-Damn, that stings..."

Nova turns to look at the woman, eyeing her through the interior display of her visor. Harmless enough. Just a lucky swing. And then the notice comes in about the woman's identity, "Hmm, you could come in handy."

Nova reaches down to grab the woman by the arm, "Come on, let's go. Let's see if we can find your other half. The authorities aren't happy with your little gang of goons. Something about blowing shit up." Nova starts trying to drag her to the other room.

The warning about unfriendly movement outside doesn't sound good though, "Enemy reinforcements?"
Lory Thumper      With all the guard down and an apparent need for speed suddenly added, Lory movs toward the vault door. "Are you alright, Laina?" she asks quietly over the comm when the shooting stops. "Sounds like we need to hurry. Mind covering me while I work on the door?" she adds before pulling out an electronic lock picking device and attaching it to the door. "Mr. Barduk. I suggest you surrender before we have to breach." Lory says into the intercom when someone speaks through it. "If you and whoever is in there with you surrender now, I can ensure you all get out without being harmed. If we have to come in...we won't be able to be so gentle." she says in her best authoritative voice, and makes sure that the cocking of her gun makes it through the intercom.

While she waits for his response, Lory runs the electronic lock picker. She may have the door open in just a few moments whether he agrees to the terms or not.
Laina Reliah     Laina rises to a sitting position, patting at her ear to make the ringing go away. "Fuck..." she whispers. That could have gone better, but it did sound like they at least took everyone down. "I'm fine if you are."

She pushes herself to her feet, nodding at the rabbit. "Watch your step," she advises her comrades. "I don't wanna trap this place up because we need to move fast, but... Feh."

Laina stands next to Lory, pointing her gun in the general direction of the staircase. "Are we moving once we get Barduk or standing fast? Personally, I like option A."
Penelope Vasquez     The woman screams and wails, but can't really put up much fight as Nova drags her into the other room. Eventually she quiets down, sniffling but compliant, as the pair step across strewn bodies and foamed-up men to the living room. Just as they do, Lory's hacking device makes itself useful, and the door swings open with a quiet click.

Inside are three scantily dressed women, three men who look very well put together, expensive clothes and all, and one man hogtied on the floor. The panic bunker is dominated by a pool table, with a few papers and a brick of milky white clay on it's top. One of the men is aiming a shotgun at the hogtied fellow on the floor. This fellow on the floor is Barduk. One waves at the sniffling woman through the door. "Hey, Jane. Your dumbass boyfriend tried to kill us all."

The shotgun-wielder kicks Barduk across the floor towards the door. The others stand wary, hands on their own weapons- holstered, but clearly one wrong step away from jumping the gun, literally. They speak, slow and calm. "So. I don't know if he was just panicing, or if he's actually crazy, but I'm not about to get turned to ash on the say-so of this guy. Fucker only got a position because Command felt bad when his brother got spiked. I say, you didn't see us, we didn't see you, you found him like this, we go home and patch up our boys. That sound good to you?"
Nova Terra     Nova drags the woman into the other room to find everyone taken care of and the vault open. She's silently glad that the suicidal idiot didn't get to keep his position of power. Getting blown up would make for a bad day. Though there's still those reinforcements to deal with.

Nova releases her grip on the woman as the other goons begin to get the hell out. She nudges her in their direction, "Take her with you. She hasn't got a life with this guy anymore."

Nova proceeds to walk up to the various windows of the apartment and the hall outside. She's trying to get sights on the supposed unfriendlies outside, responding to Laina at the same times, "Might be easier said than done."
Lory Thumper      Lory blinks as the door opens while she is still talking with the others. She crouches and has her riot shield in place in the blink of an eye, and...the scene that greets her is pretty unusual. And a bit funny. She actually smirks beneath her mask. She keeps lowers her weapon when Barduk is kicked toward them, then holsters it as the offer is made. With her shield still up, she grips the restraints holding Barduk. "I think that's acceptable. He was our main target anyway. But, Semtex is pretty dangerous stuff. Would you like us to take that, too?" she asks, trying to sound like a helpful little bunny rather than an officer who just helped assault their apartments.

She continues to back away, then looks to Laina. "What do you think? Stairs or out the window?"
Laina Reliah      Laina waits until the goons pass her by, then turns and walks into the vault, stowing her gun again. She grabs the hogtied man by his bindings, grunting a "C'mere, you," as she drags him towards the vault door. Once he's just outside the fault, Laina leaves him, looking from window, to stairs, and back again.

Depends. We should definitely look down out the window first, see if they've got snipers, people waiting, anything of the sort. They've definitely got people coming up the stairs though, and even Spooky probably couldn't take all of them out. If they're even bringing people. Our best bet might be to..." Laina paused, idly turning a cylinder on her gas mask. Suddenly, she perks up, looking from window, to Barduk, to window again. "There's a word I learned from someone recently..."

"You two know what a 'yeet' is, right?"
Penelope Vasquez      The handoff is made with a tenative ease. One frightened girlfriend and the rest of the goons unharmed in exchange for the brick of Semtex and one bound and gagged Barduk. one may wonder why they had a ball gag and ropes in their panic room. It may be best not to.

As the trio discuss their exit strategy, Monica crackles in again on their radios. Her voice is the kind of icey hard that only happens when someone is panicking but is leaning so hard in the other direction they just become a stress-filled rock. "Okay, so. We have some confirmations. Get away from the windows immediately, turn off the lights. We're counting twelve snipers. /Barduk got a call out./"

"They wouldn't bring force if they knew you were Bureau. That goes badly for them, unless the can catch an Agent with their pants down. But he didn't know who you are. Called it a rival force sweeping in trying to steal their bomb." She swallows dry. "...a helicopter is headed to the roof and vans are pulling up around the front door. We don't have an exit strategy for you any more. Just- hunker down while we put something together, please. I'm sorry. I'm doing what I can.

We really kicked the hornet's nest on this one, guys."
