Tomoyo Daidouji     It's a cool evening in Tomoeda, a nice breeze coming up along the river and filling the town with autumn's chill. Tomoyo's Boutique, a relatively new-looking building compared to it's contemporaries, casts the shadows of window mannequins onto the street. The tailor is staying open a bit late tonight in anticipation of a pickup.

She's making the final adjustments right now behind the store's counter, a sewing machine whirling as she slowly feeds fabric into it, pulling pins from a cushion strapped to her wrist and sticking them in to hem it properly.
Nova Terra     The door to the boutique opens. But no one's there... Huh, weird. The door closes again.

Several seconds pass, before blue light washes over a space near the door. The form of Nova becomes visible as her cloaking field fades. She's wearing her usual Ghost suit, but otherwise isn't armed (visibly).

Nova walks further in, glancing around at some of the clothes here before stopping and focusing on the girl at the sewing machine, "I'm here for the pickup." Nova comes off as a bit uncomfortable for some reason.
Tomoyo Daidouji     The opening of the door draws a jingle from the bell hanging above it. Tomoyo turns and says "Welcome!" to the seemingly empty air. She tilts her head in confusion, and then flinches lightly as Nova snaps back to the visual spectrum. "Oh! Yes, welcome~" she says properly with a small bow. "It's right here, I was just making some final adjustments."

She pulls the fabric from her machine and lays it out on the counter. Nova can see that it's a dress, done in dark, slightly metallic blue. "Made with the thread you supplied, as requested. You can try it on in there," she says, gesturing to the side where a changing booth stands. "Congratulations on your victory by the way~ You were marvellous," Tomoyo adds.
Nova Terra     Nova is directed towards the changing both, "Oh, right." She picks up the dress and takes it in. After pull the curtain closed, there's the soft hiss of an air seal being broken.

As she changes, Nova says, "Uhh, thanks. I didn't actually think I'd make it that far. Let alone win."

After a short pauses, Nova asks, "You kept the scraps and any left over materials, right? Like I said, I'm going to need those back."
Tomoyo Daidouji     "Everything okay?" Tomoyo asks with a hint of concern after the almost pneumatic sound. Not something you often hear in a changing booth, and she's mistaken it for the sound of ripping fabric.

"Oh, don't be so modest," Tomoyo says lightly. "Even if you only signed up to test yourself, you must have felt that urge to win deep inside. The thrill of battle, a clash of wills and soul and steel~ Why, even the most stern of warriors would get excited!" Yeah, the rumours are true, this girl is kind of weird.

"Oh yes, all the leftovers are in one of the bags." And indeed, there are some bags within the dress containing extra accessories. One contains some stockings, another some detached sleeves, a third some shoes. Each bag has a helpful little sticker on it identifying what it is, and diagrams for how to put it on, for the fashion illiterate.

It is a nice outfit when it's all on. The dark blue ball gown has silver ribbons tied into loops down the front, on the short sleeves, and all down the long, flowing ankle-length skirt. The detached sleeves are a matching blue and come up to the elbow, while the stockings are pure black. The shoes are low-heeled loafers with silver soles and a small silver flower sewn on at the toes. Included is a blue ribbon with silver thread for tying up Nova's hair.

However... it doesn't seem very practical, even when Nova did ask for something she could move around in.
Nova Terra     "Actually, I just joined for the cash rewards. Running a vigilante covert ops crew isn't cheap."

The curtain opens again and Nova steps out with the full outfit on. She walks around for a little, admiring herself before admitting, "Good enough. I suppose I can tie the skirt up a bit when I need to move around more."

Nova returns to the changing room, retrieving a small device from her suit. She proceeds to attach it to a random spot on her dress and then presses on the control panel. A circle shows up, slowly filling. Finally it flashes. Blue light washes over Nova in a repeat of earlier. But this time turning her invisible.

After a few moments, Nova reappears once more. Removing the device, "Good." Nova looks at Tomoyo and smirks, "My second in command is a great scientist. But he has an absolutely terrible sense of style."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo watches with curiosity as Nova affixes the device to herself and gasps when she disappears. "Ohh... OH! Now I see. I was going to ask why you needed it made with your materials, but it works with that device to make you invisible, doesn't it?" Her eyes light up as she considers the possibilities, but pulls herself together.

"No need to tie it up. Watch this~" she says, before walking around Nova and tugging at some discrete silver bows on the small of the back of the dress. As she does, they are revealed to be connected to a length of fabric that goes inside the layers of fabric that make up the dress. The hem of the skirts starts raising up smoothly, not bunching at all. Tomoyo brings the lengths together at Nova's front and ties them together around her waist. The skirt now comes above knee-length, allowing for freedom of movement.

"I rewatched the footage of your fights to try and make something well-suited to you~ The ribbons are designed to function like gear loops so you can strap equipment to yourself. The inside of the skirts have a bunch of extra pockets and loops so you can smuggle things, even a rifle if you detach the stock. I went with strapless heels so you can kick them off, and detached sleeves instead of gloves so your grip isn't hindered."

She scatches the back of her head. "Seems a bit silly when you can go invisible. But maybe sometime you'll need to be noticed, all this will come in handy~"
Nova Terra     Nova nods at Tomoyo's realization, "The effect requires a few things in order to work properly. One being certain... Features of the material." She obviously doesn't want to go into too much detail. Probably out of concern of the tech being analysed for its secrets.

As Tomoyo goes into explaining and showing the various functions that she's been able to build into the outfit, Nova is notably impressed. And as the girl points out the issue of their usefulness versus invisiblity, Nova shakes her head, "This device is a miniturization of my suit's cloaking tech. But even with the advancements we've made, it's not going to have the longevity of my suit, which can keep me cloaked indefinitely." She fingers the device, "We're expecting maybe a few minutes at most from this. So all the other stuff isn't pointless."
Nova moves around some more, testing out the freedom now that the skirt is up, "There's been a few situations where some infiltration using fancy dress has led into a fight. And every time I felt very underpowered without my usual kit. This'll definitely help."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo smiles and taps her nose. "Don't worry, I'm a tailor, not an engineer. Even if I did understand what you provided, I couldn't duplicate that thing even if you gave me the blueprints." She watches carefully as Nova moves about. The folded skirts hold firm, and the heels are low enough so as to not hinder movement too much, tight enough that they won't make her slip, but loose enough to get off in an instant.

"You look wonderful~ I'm glad you like my improvisations. Now... I know you prefer to be unseen and fight at range, but if you could tell anyone who sees you in this where you got it, that would be very appreciated~ The first MECC champion is quite a billboard to advertise your wares on."
Nova Terra     "Oh, it's not you I'm worried about." Ominous.

At the request, Nova nods along, "Sure. That seems fair enough." Pause. "Although that might be a bit of a tough thing to bring up in the middle of a battle. Eh. Maybe something will come up before the fight actually breaks out."

Nova turns and heads back into the changing room to switch back to her suit. As she does, she says, "You do good work. I would say I'd come here in the future. But I really don't have much use for stylish clothes outside of very specific situations like this."
Tomoyo Daidouji     "I appreciate it~" Tomoyo says, letting Nova get back to her suit. She puts a garment bag over the wall of the booth for Nova to pack it away neatly. As the soldier comments on her lack of need of clothes, Tomoyo replies, "It's not my position to impose on others that they must wear my clothes. I'm sure you're always very busy, and so always in your suit."

She smiles to herself, and adds, "That just means I need to make clothes for every walk of life. So everyone will have cause to buy from me~" Also ominous.

When Nova comes out, Tomoyo offers her a bow. "Thank you for coming, and once again, congratulations. I hope the dress serves you well. If it gets damaged, feel free to bring it back for repairs!"
