Owner Pose
Link The Goron Chieftain has provided temporary lodging in a stone hut inside Goron City for those delving into the lost city. It's still extremely hot, but the light resistance potions help 'not immediately burn to death'.

The Gorons seem interested in Link finding what he can about the Master Sword, the rocky people sending their guide Dargon back with the group.

Going through a series of domes deep inside the volcano, the first one clear, the last ones blackened out, the domes are much cooler than the outside. Magitech cooling systems keep the heat off, though some are damaged or fighting against dome damages. Riding 'pods' on minecart rails leads them, eventually, to the dome the group unlocked last time.

It's clear metal in a blackened dome, with a hole leading straight down the center. There's tracks, like someone was 'skating' on the steel, as well as a permanent echo of a hum.

There is no ladder down the hole. It's so deep you can't see the bottom. Dargon looks to the group, and walks over to the hole. Even he could fit in it. "So! Do you guys want to jump first?"
Tetra     Tetra has, oddly, been in and out several times over the last few days... but she's returned in plenty of time. She leans over the hole, giving a quiet, thoughtful 'hmm'.

    "All right."

With that, Tetra leaps down, with very little fanfare or reservation. Assuming there's solid ground at the bottom, she lands safely, despite the distance, calling up, "It's a hell of a drop, but I'm on solid ground!"
Amelris Belthrone "Do I!?" Amelris Belthrone, who had to sleep in some very hot dwellings and also been in and out for a while. Adventuers don't sit down still for a while.

The Miqo'te follows in along without very much fanfare, keeping an hand on his hat as he slides down. "That's when I wish I was a Dragoooooon!"
Raziel 'The room opened by our efforts in our last excursion leads to a room with a clear metal floor.  Ironically, the floor looked more like smoothed ice, only blemished with the cuts of tracks that look similar to ice skate tracks.  In the center was a hole, however, no ladder was there.  Whatever happened, it was a one way trip into the darkness.'

"I'll go," Raziel says without a second thought.  The strangely armed figure walks to the edge, and without a second thought jumps into the hole.

However, he extends his arms and strange 'flaps' of skin what was hidden by his cape come out, slowing his fall and allowing him to glide safely to the bottom and allowing him to do so without breaking anything important.

Once landed, he lets go of the flaps, as they once more retreat behind the cloak.  His glowing eyes look around where they landed.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is having some trouble with all this heat. Her clothes are rarely breezy, and this is no less true of her leather battle dress. Although the skirt allows plenty of airflow, the torso section is tight and the black leather seems to her to be soaking in the heat even more. Thankfully it isn't nearly as bad within the dome, but the princess is already fussy and whining.

She pulls a sports drink from her purse and downs it in almost all at once, then pulls a towel and wipes her brow before draping the towel around her shoulders. "If it is cooler down there, then I am in!" she exclaims, leaping into the hole without a second though. It is usually cooler inside a volcano than outside, right?
Alruna Greengate Alruna nudges Dargon. "You're not getting us to provide you with a cushion, are you?" she asks, grinning. She's next after Amelris, and by happenstance she's armed with her lance. "Ha, me toooo!" she yells as she jumps in, her leather coat flapping in the breeze created by the fall.
C Watching everyone go all but headfirst makes Crow sigh. He's garbed in his Thors Military Academy uniform, complete with the snazzy red jacket he'd received for Christmas. "You've got to be kidding, man. At least give us a sled, or something."

Being a new addition to the group, his reasons for showing up were fairly nebulous. If asked, he'd deflected with a non-committal quip. If there were some ulterior motive, it was for him to know, but he very well could just be here to do the right thing, right?

"Well, I guess it's time to take the plunge myself. Wish me luck!" the white haired rogue chuckles with a two fingered salute, before hopping forward to begin skidding down on the soles of his shoes, bending his knees to help keep his balance and steer.
Rean Schwarzer Rean wipes some sweat off his forehead. His blazer's tied around his waist, and his shirt sleeves are rolled up. You'd think he would have worn something more suitable to being in a volcano, but no. The group eventually comes across a hole with no visible bottom. Tetra decides jump in first.

"Hey, wait-"  Rean shouts, reaching out for her. Couldn't she have waited. She turns out completely fine, though. He lets out a sigh of relief. "Well, here goes!"

He takes a running start, then jumps down the hole after everyone else.
Link The group leaps down the hole. Link goes in last, makes sure everyone is safe and out of the way of the bottom, and then calls up to Dargon to follow after them.

The hole is not as quick a descent as you'd think. There's some sort of magical gravity manipulator on it - you think you could just jump back /up/ the whole and get launched into the area above, if you tried hard enough.

You end up in an underground metal corridor. There's two doors on either side. One is mechanical, and won't open without 'an authorization code and a delay'. The other is unlocked. Link heads to the other after trying the first door.

The room is /extraordinarily/ hot in here, because the corridor and metal has decayed to allow lava and obsidian in. They're walking on beds of hot obsidian and metal as they approach, and the sound of the 'musical hum' is even louder in here. Was someone down here?

Then they see it. A shadow of a person, at the far side of the room. They're inside some sort of crystal apparatus, which makes it hard to truly identify them, but they're the source of the humming.

If the group gets closer, they'll notice something coming out of the lava. It'll interrupt them before they can reach the apparatus.

It's a hand.

And then an arm.

And then a torso and head. It's armor, made of molten steel.

It rises completely out of the lava, carrying a large cracked sword, and faces the group. The suit of armor's eyes 'glow' orange. There's a squelching sound coming from inside.

Magma Darknut moves to take a large, swiping swing at the entire group, moving faster than a suit of armor should be able to without a wearer.
Raziel The creature bursts out of the magma to block their path, which causes Raziel to spin towards the creature suddenly.

'This creature was covered in searing metal plates and held a large sword.  I could sense a spirit inside, but it needed to be weakened before I could consume it.  It was also likely not going to let us through, or go without a fight.'

Raziel's right-hand bursts with the ethereal blade, but in a second changes to a slightly bluer appearance.  The blade seemed to drip water, seemingly creating it from nothing.  Raziel moves around the creature, trying to gain its attention to allow Tetra to enact her plan.

Right as she was ready to fire, Raziel held out a claw towards it, attempting to catch it in telekinetic force so that he could temporarily immobilize it.  This also had a secondary effect of transferring the blade's water properties into the telekinetic attack, so it was like being crushed by water pressure.
Sarracenia      Nope, it is in fact not cooler inside the volcano than outside of it. Sarra's whining just increases as the heat does. She starts dragging behind the group, her life of pampering quite obvious. She notices Rean and offers a weak wave. Amelris and Alruna get one as well. She doesn't really know Crow or Tetra, but does at least give a half-hearted curtsey. "I hope you appreciate this, Link! A princess is going through a hellish volcano for you!" she exclaims grumpily as they start through that lava room.

When that magma knight appears, the Sundew princess blinks in surprise. Tetra explains that it is probably just a spirit in armor, and that reduces Sarra's surprise. The big knight swipes at them, and Sarra yelps as she goes bouncing back from the hit. She is fed up with this heat! She pulls out flower with a big yellow center, big cute black eyes, and blue ice-like leaves. She gives it a squeeze and it disappears in a burst of white smoke, which leaves her black and red dress recolored in white and ice blue.

"Alright, Mr. Magma Knight! Let us see how you deal with the cold!" Sarra shouts as she starts throwing bolts of freezing cold. The orbs of frost power go bouncing across the ground toward the knight, seeking to cool down the magma within and leave him a frozen statue.
C Slowing down suddenly and gentle threw Crow for a loop, he'd been prepared to need to cushion himself for an impact, maybe roll to kill momentum if he'd dropped too far -- but that was pretty helpful, he supposed, stretching after stepping off the pad. "Neat."

The heat was killer. At least his bandana was soaking in all the sweat on his forehead, but if it got much hotter, he wasn't sure if even those fire potions would save them.

"Well, guess we'll never know what's behind Door A. Door B is ... really starting to fall apart. Well, just don't think about how painful it'd be to fall into the lava and everything will be just fine, yeah?"

Before he can annoy anyone further with his jabber, though, a molten knight cuts them off!

Crow ducks low, throwing himself forward so that he's belly-first on the ground to avoid being chopped in half. He didn't have any offensive Water Quartz on him, but he did have bullets loaded with Water Sepith. "Rean!"

A volley of rounds fire off from one of his two pistols, the revolver, exploding in a blue haze in an attempt to magically flash freeze parts of the fiery black iron knight's chest and shoulder. This would given Rean an opportunity, hopefully, to land a more effective blow.
Tetra     Tetra looks on, at first with mild distress and then with recognition. "A Darknut."

She'd only heard of them in tales before. Armor imbued with the will of its owner...

    this will be a problem.

The adventurer moves into a combat stance, raising a hand in front of her face. White frost forms on it, shedding steam and mist as she gathers magical power into it.

"YAH!" She thrusts her hand forward, holding it outstretched in front of her. She tries to fill the armor with ice... but it's too hot. There's no way she could sustain it, even if she tried. Instead, she shifts her focus toward its arms, to paralyze its shoulder and elbow joints with ice crystals.

"Hgnh... too hot in here." She moves slowly, concentrating on feeding the cold, unable to effectively dodge.
Amelris Belthrone      Science have spoken! The inside of a Volcano is, in fact, far hotter than the hellpit of Ifrit! WHO KNEW. If he ever have to fight Ifrit again -- and he will -- he'll have to throw that insult his way. 'HEY! YOU THINK YOUR FLAMES ARE HOT!? YOU DONT EVEN HOLD A CANDLE TO A VOLCANO'.

That'll go over well! He's sure of it. Everyone will laugh.

The Red Mage grumbles, starting up to his feet and peering onward. An armoured fighter. Apparently, some kind of haunted suit of a Ashkin. Is that the correct term? It's a /ghost/, that's what it is. People already make full use of ice abilities, Amelris draws out his rapier, pushing some magic into his sword to make it glow.

"ALRIGHT THEN, 'Darknut', if that's your real name!" The Miqo'te exclaims, his tail and ear's fur already soaked with sweat as he lift his Enhanced weapon before him. "Enguarde!"

The Red Mage zips through the battlefield, bringing over his glowing, enhanced rapier into rapid, precise strikes at the frozen arms, trying to pierce and shatter into it's joints -- and hopefully rip them off. Or you know, cause damage.
Staren     They're going inside a volcano.

You don't do that without some SERIOUS protection. Staren opts to just go full robot; cooling systems and materials engineered to tolerate extreme stress are further enhanced by magic charms against heat and even FURTHER enhanced by extradimensional coolant tanks.

As Staren walks through the Goron's settlement, he looks at the temperature on his HUD and is glad he's not flesh right now. He's not sure his usual suit could handle this -- well enough for him to survive and fight, sure, but he'd probably be all sweaty and uncomfortable, UGH.

Down the hole they go. Staren's considering the mechanical door and how hard (or easy) it might be to just force through, when noise and the cries of others draw his attention to the magma knight in the other room.

"Morg dammit." Staren swears. Most of his gear does damage by dumping immense amounts of energy into things, melting or sublimating them -- but when something is already LAVA that doesn't really hurt it much, does it?

Fortunately, others have ice magic and a plan. They'll freeze it and make it brittle. Then it just needs kinetic force.

Staren reaches into his Bag O' Weapons as he approaches the door, trying to keep to the back of the group out of habit even if he IS made of metal. He pulls out what looks kind of like a very large bore submachinegun -- it's a semiautomatic, man-portable railgun that's heavier than it looks -- and when others freeze parts of the Darknut, he tries to follow up with precision shots of hypervelocity metal!
Alruna Greengate Alruna was honestly expecting to have to grab the wall and slide down to avoid taking a rough tumble, but it turns out whoever made this place had similar transport design sensibilities to the Allagans. A bit gentler though.

She has a swig from a gourd on her belt as they move into a hotter area, and grimaces. It's actually worse to drink cold water; the momentary reprieve is all too fleeting before the heat returns. A sheen of sweat sticks to her skin soon enough.

When their explorations are interrupted rudely by a Darknut - a /Magma/ Darknut, no less, she draws her lance and blocks the blade when it comes for her, getting knocked back several feet by the force. Sparks of flame settle on her leather armour, which she has to hastily slap out while some of the others take the first swing at the monstrous suit of armour.

As Amelris focuses on the right arm, she takes the left, bouncing on her heels and taking a leaping thrust at its left arm, trying to punch through the upper arm as Tetra turns her talents on its joints and wrench the possessed limb off entirely.
Rean Schwarzer The strange slowing properties of the hole prevents Rean from becoming a splat on the ground (or the walls if he mistimed his jump). It's something that wouldn't feel too out of place in the Old Schoolhouse's deeper floors, though it would have been useful that one time Instructor Sara shoved them all down a trap door.  Rean returns Sarra's wave with a smile. It's been a while.

Suddenly, a suit of armor rises out of the lava, marching towards them. A Darknut or something like that. Luckily, much of the group has ice magic, aiming to freeze it in place. Rean nods, then rushes the Darknut, crouching low to deliver a swift strike to its legs.
Link The group engages the Magma Darknut. Raziel locks it down telekinetically as if it was being crushed by water pressure, allowing the others to hit it, while Sarracennia throws ice bolts to freeze the legs. Crow freezes the chest and shoulders, while Tetra freezes the arms. Amelris moves to strike AT the arms, while Link jumps in, taking his sword and trying to break the frozen shoulders to assist Amelris. An arm falls off. Staren's shots nearly knock off a leg until Rean finishes it off, while Alruna damages the other armor. It swaps the blade into the other arm...

And then, /something/ inside moves to keep it upright. Lava tendrils come out of the armor, squelching even more, to seal the missing arm, and one lunges out of the leghole to balance it upwards. This is not a normal Darknut.

It's a Parasite Darknut.

Taking the cracked blade, it moves for Alruna first, who is the closest, and moves to hook her with the sword and try and send her skidding towards the lava. Then, the sword is swiped into the rest of the group, furious heavy slashes. They'll hurt - Link gets hit in the shield and staggers back in pain.
Raziel Raziel's forced to stop the telekinetic hold, flipping back just as the sword comes.  The heat is enough to sear the specter, damaging fabric, and clothing as it nearly sears his own undead flesh.  Staggering from the near miss, he looked up, his eyes looking for something, anything to give them an advantage.

There it was.

He runs forward, seemingly there to challenge the creature solo, but there was a plan in his head.  Jumping, Raziel runs up the arm of the Lava creature and flips up and over it.  His feet grab onto the roof above them, allowing him to see down into the damaged arm of the armor.

Both hands aim down, as he attempts to use that telekinetic force to try and YANK the squid-like creature inside out through that arm, even just a little, to give the rest of the group something to aim at.  Like before, the elemental properties of the reaver aid in his telekinetic attacks, crushing like water.
Alruna Greengate Alruna doesn't have the weight behind her strike to get enough leverage. Instead of divesting it of its other arm, she's confronted with an angrier creature that catches her flat-footed. It pulls her in and throws her back, sending the lancer stumbling towards the lava that it climbed out of in the first place.

Alruna windmills, getting close enough that a wall of heat blasts her in the face and lights her hair on fire. Understandably, she lets out a short shriek and pulls herself back from the precipice of toppling into the lava, She dumps her gourd over her own head, dousing the flame and soaking her head and shoulders in ice-cold water that immediately begins to steam off her.
C Grimacing, Crow's face turns a little green at seeing the parasitic tendrils suddenly jutting out of the armor. "Gross. That thing isn't possessed..at least, not the way we thought!"

He stops to start loading different bullets into his revolver, only realizing too late that he should have started moving instead, but he hadn't exactly had the chance to make distance. If he rolled to either side, he'd go into the lava...and if he stayed, he'd get chopped in two!

Crow does the only natural thing after loading the last bullet in and immediately flops over onto his back, crossing both his revolver and his pistol over himself to block the downward chop meant to end him.

        "Guh! Ugh..."

The flooring cracks from the force as he repels the blade and counterattacks by peppering its now exposed 'arm' to try and blast it off with a concentration of orbal gunfire.
Amelris Belthrone      Wide Swings are a bit of a pain. Amelris steps back, his brows furrowed at the... rather disturbing changes on the armor. "Oh." He lets out. "That ain't great."

Amelris immediatedly take a wild, tall leap backwards, narrowingly avoiding the worse of the wide swing headed their way. The heat, the lava scortches against his clothes but he lands still in one shape on the other hand of things.

"That IS pretty gross!" Amelris agrees with, gem floating away from his rapier as he pulls back. Lightning crackles around his fist as he thrusts it forward against the parasite, then taking a quick step back and slamming his casting fist down.

A stone pillar comes from above crashing down into the armor. Magic time it is.
Sarracenia      Once again the heavy blade of the creatures sends Sarracenia bouncing away. Her ice coloration and powers disappear in a puff of white smoke before she gets up, smoldering from the heat. She yelps and pats a part of her dress's skirt out before it catches full fire, then growls lightly at the creature. "Alright! That is enough!" she exclaims. She reaches into her purse and pulls out a Bullet Bill, an artillery shell the size of a person. She sets it down, then pulls out another and sets it beside the first, then one more to make a set of three shark-faced bullets. "Clear the way!" she calls out to the others as she pulls her DK Hammer from her purse.

She goes into a ballerina-like spin before leaping to go twirling horizontally past the Bullet Bills. Each one is hit by the hammer, and each one launches toward the parasite with the thundering report of a heavy cannon. The shells go screaming toward the squid-thing, and each one impacts with not only the full force of a massive bullet but also explodes like a bunker bomb.
Staren     Huh, that was easy.

Wait, no, it's still up? There's something INSIDE the armor, that can withstand lava?!

It's too fast. Staren tries to take a defensive stance... thanks to his body's advanced construction, he survives, but he's left with a scorched scar melted through his outer armor and into his metal body.

He can't let THAT keep happening!

Fortunately, others are on the ball once again, with Raziel trying to give them a good shot at the parasite! Staren takes advantage of this, turning both the railgun and the beam cannons built into his armor on it (just in case they're different from fire -- if this thing's ability to resist heat is magical, maybe beams count as non-elemental, you never know!)
Tetra     Tetra disengages her control over the ice, which sublimates into vapor almost immediately. Convection's a bitch. She watches Raziel pull a large portion of parasite out of the Darknut... and, focus returned, she draws her sword, also covered in frost. She leaps forward to slash across the parasite, her arc shifting upawrd mid-jump to rebound off of the ceiling to slash downward along the length of her foe.
Rean Schwarzer The weird noise coming from inside the armor turned out to be way more important than anyone expected. Something very much not a ghost was in there too, holding the armor together. Rean raises his sword to block the strike, getting knocked to the ground by the amount of force coming from it. "Ugh...crap." Rean says staggering back onto his feet. Ok, they needed to get rid of that lava thing, whatever it was.

Raziel has a plan, though, exposing some of the parasite for everyone to target. Rean rushes the Darknut, swinging his sword with enough speed that one strike becomes a flurry of many, hopefully hitting the parasite from many angles. He's probably /really close to the lava now, though./
Link The parasite, once revealed by Raziel's telekinesis (staggered by his run up), is some sort of lava squid. The armor is clearly still alive, but the parasite has taken over the armor's movement, the parasite freaking out from the crushing water attacks.

Crow fires at the parasite, blasting it with damage and forcing it further out of the armor.

Amelris fires lightning and stone at the armor, electricity surging through it into the parasite, while the stone cracks the helmet, pressing the parasite down inside.

Bullet bills crack more of the armor, ripping up the chest cavity and revealing the full form of the lava squid and his weird beak. It tries to close back up the armor, but the beam cannons fire further into it, making that impossible. Tetra's sword slash cuts into it, and then Rean's multiple strikes slash it up. It's badly damaged, and would die in a few more hits.

So it abandons the armor. It leaps out, and moves to flee back into the lava. It can be stopped and destroyed, but to do so would require risking yourselves to the heat and more attacks. Rean, in particular, will be /very much/ at risk of being dragged straight into the lava if he attacks it while it's wildly flailing and fleeing.

The crystal apparatus with a 'person' inside it at the far end of the room is now available. Link, who got a few slashes in during the fight himself, is looking at it thoughtfully. He'll approach when someone else does.
Link The armor regains control. It looks at itself, steps backwards, and then forces itself to tilt back into the lava. Perhaps because it was parasitized?
Raziel Releasing himself from the top of the dome, Raziel flips back down and lands on his feet.  Rising to his feet, the eyes of the Specter follow the parasite as it runs away.  It is hardly a threat, and probably far too much effort to try and put down.  Risky to those here that were not functionally immortal.

The armor seemed ill inclined to fight, and Raziel gives it a single nod.  Unlike others, it finds no reason to fight a foe who has surrendered.  Turning back to the crystal, he moved to approach it with the others, noting the figure inside.

Raziel runs a claw over it like one would run a hand over it.  He's not trying to damage it, just feel it, as he moves around the crystal itself.  "Strange, have you seen something like this before?"
Alruna Greengate Once she's reasonably sure she's not on fire anymore, Alruna rejoins the fray to dispatch the Darknut part of their adversary properly.

Only to watch it retreat the same way the lava squid /thing/ did. She looks perplexed, but the tension bleeds out of her body language as they're left to their own devices again. This is a strange, inexplicable mountain full of strange, inexplicable beasts.

She lingers behind while attention is collectively drawn to the crystal, finally ambling towards it while keeping her lance ready in one hand for a second appearance.
Rean Schwarzer He watches as the armor just nopes back into the lava, freed from its extra passenger. "...Well, that happened." He says, shrugging.

He does NOT engage the fleeing lava squid because he does not want to be a baked Bean. Also, it surrendered, so why chase after it? And then convection ignites his blazer as he stands there. "Ack!" He tears it from around his waist and throws it across the room, towards the crystal apparatus, in fact. He runs over to stomp out the fire, and once that's done ties the jacket back around his waist.

His attention the turns to the crystal apparatus. "What's that?"
Amelris Belthrone      "THAT!" Amelris calls out, spinning his rapier and sheathing it. "Was a little bit crazy." The Red Mage says, dusting himself off and frowning at his clothes. that'll take some repair to take care of, now.

He follows up to give the crystal a look, frowning, keeping an eye out from around him.
C Crow watches the parasite flee, the armor tipping over into the ichorous earth to sink slowly into it. "Man..." he groans, scooching back off of the cracked pathway. "I think I'm gonna rest up a minute. You guys go on ahead. Hoo. This is embarassing."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is certainly not going to go chasing a lava squid into its lava home. It is hot enough when she isn't in the lava! With hair frizzed out from heat and her dress starting to smolder again, she also isn't keen on going after the armor that seems to want to follow after. As long as it does not attack, she doesn't either.

She moves toward that crystal aparatus and peers at it curiously. "Was that armor protecting this crystal? Was that creature?" she wonders aloud, looking to Link and Tetra for answers since they seem to be the ones that know things on this world.
Tetra     Tetra slowly relaxes as the parasite flees. The Darknut exits the scene as well, and she properly relaxes, for the moment. "... bizarre. I suppose an empty suit of armor would make a decent shell, animated or not."

She approaches the crystal, sword still in hand despite the lack of immediate danger. "The darknut may have been. Stories speak of darknuts guarding the places their owners guarded in life..."
Staren     Staren fires at the squid until it's out of sight, just to keep it from having second thoughts. He could wonder about the cology of lava squids and darknuts, but it matters little until he has a sample size of more than one.

He approaches the crystal, scanning it with every non-invasive means he can think of -- various wavelengths of light, ultrasound, magic detection, airport scanner rays, that sort of thing. "Indeed, HAVE you? Are there even any stories in this world of people in crystals?" He tries shining a bright light on it to illuminate the 'person' inside.
Tetra     "As for the crystal," Tetra adds, "I've never seen anything like this, no... nor heard of it, for that matter."
Link Alruna and Amelris keep an eye out for the monster. It's gonna come back. They know it will. But they can't do anything while it's in the lava, so finishing it off will require them to be a bit patient.

The group approaches the crystal, which Staren detects as 'absolutely magitech'. As they do, they can tell it's not transluscent, so shining a light doesn't get a great look except that they don't look human. It's some sort of ancient resting chamber, giving off lots of energy. Link moves to press a button on it...

The crystal starts to pull apart. Someone is revealed inside. A woman. A /strange/ woman.

She's blue and ornate. Blue 'hair', lighter blue eyes, blue lips, and a darker shaded small diamond in the middle of her forehead. Her 'clothing' is a close, split colored, over an outfit that can honestly be called 'ancient hoodie and leggings'. The right side is purplish-pink from the neck down, while the other side goes lighter and lighter in shades of blue. On her chest is a golden diamond, with a smaller azure diamond fitted in the center of it.

When the 'girl' awakens, she speaks. Her voice is monotonous, clinical, a little robotic, even if her words are more cheerful than you'd imagine. "I have awoken. There is a 88% chance I would like to go back to sleep."

And her eyes scan over the group. They lock onto Link immediately.

"Yet, a 99% chance I have found my master."

Tetra also gets eyed, but only briefly. It might be the Hylian ears. It might be something else.
Tetra     Tetra blinks. She frowns lightly. Again, this is entirely out of her purview, and she seems confused as she offers her name. "I... ah, I am Tetra. we are here to find a part of the Master Sword... the Sword of Evil's Bane." She looks the girl over, sheathing her blade. "... Who are you? Might you know where the fragment is?"
Raziel "I am Raziel, but I think this matters little..." there is a moment where Raziel tries to think about what is happening.  A clue to the sword was said to be here, and what listening to what was said, and the clues that lead them here causes the specter to think.

"Perhaps she is what we are trying to find.  She could very well be the sword that Link needs."
Staren     Staren is... surprised at the appearance of this woman. "Woah. What's a god-tier doing stuck in a crystal?" But then she sounds more like a robot than a gamer. "Uhhhh... your master? What?" He glances back at Raziel, then at the woman. "...ARE you the sword? Or half of it??"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia nods lightly at what Tetra says. "That would make sense if they are armor animated by the will of their former wearers." she says.

Then, the crystal opens and reveals...a woman? A woman made of crystal? Sarracenia blinks a few times, dazzled by the woman's appearance. Then she is struck by the way the crystal woman talks. "...are you a robot?" she asks walking around the girl slowly to look her over. "And what makes you think that Link could be your master?" she asks before hearing all the chatter on the radio.

She falls silent as it seems that the mystery is mostly solved by more ancient stories from Hyrule.
Amelris Belthrone      Amelris keeps an eye on the lava, but when there is... something that happens to the crystal, a form comes out. The Miqo'te blinks, tilting his head to the formign 'girl' that appears. Talking in some very... sing-song, monotone kind of voice.

Amelris lets out a low, appreciative whistle.

"Well, hellloooo there." The Red Mage lets out, smiling and waving a hand. "Or rather, good morning, lady. Name's Amelris."

He eyes Link. "Come on. Introduce yourself, too, man. First impressions on legendary weapons is /good/."
Rean Schwarzer Inside the crystal is a woman. "Whoa..." Rean murmurs. She's rather pretty. Raziel posits that she might be the Master Sword. Rean nods. "A sword spirit, maybe. Maybe she's the source of its power?"
C After taking a moment to recover, Crow gets up and trails behind the rest -- seemingly just in time for the appearance of a mysterious, cute little lady. Crow wolf whistles at her, but there's an appraising look in his eye.

He's thinking about something, clearly.

Twirling his weapons by the trigger guards, he stuffs them into his holsters. "Honestly, I can't see how you could nap in a place like this. Way too hot, and one too many fire-lurking parasites for my liking."
Alruna Greengate Alruna glances at Amelris, then back to the strange lady-shaped... the best she can come up with is elemental, akin to Amelris's adored carbuncle. She doesn't seem to be some kind of machina, outwardly. "Alruna." the lancer introduces herself, though the girl seems to have eyes mostly for Link. "Aye, this is no place for a chat." she agrees with Crow. "If it pleases you all..." she addresses the group. "Lets get out of here."
Amelris Belthrone      "I like her idea more." Amelris says, thrusting a thumb over at Alruna. "BEFORE that thing decides to come back."
Link The group talk to the woman. Despite being inundated with questions, she simply introduces herself.

"Designation: Fi."

A pause. Raziel says something very interesting, and the others jump on. She nods.

Link introduces himself, slowly, cautiously. Fi looks him over, and then speakss.

"My Master is too unconfident. You are supposed to be the one who slays the Great King of Evil."

"And I am the Sword of Evil's Bane. I have been in stasis for..." She rattles off a number in the scale of minutes. Staren, who has built-in calculators, can tell that she's been in there for millennium.

Fi floats away from the crystal, skating against the ground, and moves over to Link. She's looking for his sword, specifically. He holds it out, and she looks it over.

"I see."

There's the /smallest/ hint of distaste. It's the sword Tetra gave him.

Crow and Sarracenia both get replies. "I am a sword." She tells Sarra, while Crow simply gets. "The hibernation crystal has a cooling system that has kept my body at a suitable temperature for..." The same amount of minutes, plus whatever a few since she last gave off the number. Her timing is /precise/.

Alruna and Amelris suggest leaving. Fi tilts her head. "Are you sure you do not want to slay the creature that vexes you so?" Her eyes glint.
Raziel "Well, said creatures are in the magma right now," Raziel says, turning towards said magma.  "Unless you can do something about that, it is not likely anyone can do anything about that."

Raziel, however, drew the Soul Reaver, the aetherial sword that seems to hunger endlessly, "Now if they were to be persuaded to leave.."
Amelris Belthrone      Amelris lets out a low whistle at the high amount of days, even more when it is translated into the amount of years it means.

"THAT's a lot of years." The Miqo'te admits, crossing his arms as he looks around. Nope, the BLISTERING HEAT didn't change at all. He do notice the... strange glint of her eyes. Is this a test of some sort?

"Actually, I /would/." The Red Mage comments, waving a hand. "Except it's /hiding/ like a darn coward and we can't fish it out. Not easily." He pauses, peering at Fi. "...Unless the sword spirit that dates /all the way back/ from the previous War a thousand years ago have a great idea for that. Fi, y'said?"
Tetra     Tetra is off to the side, slightly, murmuring to herself about the possibility of Fi being the Master Sword...

And then she confirms it, to her GREAT surprise. "... You are the Master Sword. The... entire thing. We were here on the promise of a piece, but... I... this is incredible."

She looks just slightly offended at Fi's tone regarding the sword Link wields, but doesn't comment. "It seems we're here for /you/, lady Fi... this place is extremely inhospitable for us, on top of that. It doesn't seem the Darknut had a quarrel with us, and... the parasite's beyond our reach. Yes, unless you have a solution..." she agrees with Amelris.
Alruna Greengate Alruna raises an eyebrow when she's directly addressed by the Master Sword. "Aye, but not if we have to lay in wait for the whoreson to come out again." she agrees with Amelris. and gestures with her head at the pool of lava their adversary crawled out of in the first place.
Rean Schwarzer Rean rubs the back of his head. "If you can fish it out, sure. Might be better to just leave it alone unless someone needs to come down here again, though."
Staren     "That's a thousand years." Staren's support AI preemptively ran the calculation for him.

"Indeed. Our bodies cannot withstand lava." He gestures to the scar across his body from the sword strike.

"Hyrule is under threat by Ganondorf Dragmire, the Great King of Evil, and his army of monsters. Will you help prevent him from burning Hyrule to the ground?"

Staren tilts his head. "If not, what WILL you do?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is surprised as well when the girl confirms she is also the sword. "Are you...a metaphorical sword? Or can you reshape in some way to be more sword-like?" Sarracenia asks, then blinks. "Oh! I did not introduce myself! I am Princess Sarracenia Sundew, Crown Princess of the Sundew Kingdom." She gives a showy curtsey this time, unlike the half-hearted greeting she gave Tetra and Crow upon their meeting outside the mountain. "And...I must agree. If you are the sword, then we should leave. Unless there is some pressing need to eliminate the creatures here. Which seems unlikely given the fact that they have been here for who knows how long and the Goron are perfectly fine."

As if the matter is decided, Sarracenia starts back down the hallway. But, she stops after a moment. "Just out of curiousity...do you know any secret codes? There is a door in this direction which is sealed."
Link The group asks Fi how she would destroy the monster. She analyzes the room, Dargon way in the back, and the group, and then speaks up, softly. "The Goron would dive into the lava and wrestle with the parasite, dragging it out to be destroyed by us. I am not fireproof. 87% chance of success."

As Tetra speaks, about how incredible she is, Fi hums lightly, but tilts her head. "I must ask. Are you the current descendant of the Goddess Hylia? You bear a remarkable resemblance." Link tilts his head, finding that baffling. "I don't think..."

And then Fi turns to Link, and moves over to his side, getting picked up by her radio. Staren asks what she will do. "It is my duty to slay the Great King of Evil and fulfill the ancient prophecy. I will serve the hero, no matter who they are. There is a 92.3% chance we get along perfectly."

Sarracenia, finally, gets the last reply. "I may know the code. However, it is not coming to mind. Please give me some time to remember." It seems they won't be able to go through the boss door yet, if they do decide to leave instead of 'murdering the monster'.
Tetra     Tetra blinks. She'd look quite flustered, if the heat didn't already have her red-faced. "D... descendant of Hylia?" she asks, sounding rather confused. "I don't know what you mean by that."

She may not know, but... she has a few guesses. And while she'd like to ask, she can't possibly risk it.

"Though... that is quite a compliment, I suppose. Thank you." She smiles just slightly.
Alruna Greengate Alruna tilts her head. Admittedly, she didn't know Gorons were THAT fireproof.

"Well, Dargon? You feel up to some wrestling?" she calls out, half-turning to address the Goron. Fi's penetrating and foreshadowy assessment of Tetra, of course, flies right over her head.
Amelris Belthrone      "You know, that's actually a /great/ suggestion." Amelris concedes, nodding firmly in Fi's direction. Alruna's already on the way to address and fix that up. "I'd hate to have that thing wander free."

The comments headed troward Tetra, however, makes him take pause, tilting his head at the young woman, squinting his eyes. A Descendant of the Goddess Hylia? The Miqo'te taps his chin, squinting and leaning a bit to study her features.

"Mmmmmaybe. She certainly have a divine grace and certain beauty that you could qualify as 'divine'." The Red Mage comments, peeling back. "Oh well!" He shrugs.
C Shrugging in a way as if to go, 'It can't be helped', Crow begins to change out his ammunition types again. He slots more Water-infused bullets into his revolver and a stack of normal munitions in his orbal handgun, racking the slide briefly. "Well, if we are going to go for a round two, I think I'll stand on the sidelines this time and rely on my Combat Orbment. I think using Arts to attack it would be more effective than my Orbal Guns. Besides, I'm sure you guys have most other bases covered."

He motions to Fi. "So you can Analayze things pretty well, huh? Even an idiot has a good chance of winning just about any fight with you on their side, I'd bet."

It was a genuine appraisal. A core part of battle is strategy, and she was essentially a walking and talking matrix that adapts on the fly for Link, instead of Link needing to develop those skills for himself. Maybe that was the secret to beating Ganondorf.
Raziel Raziel keeps his glowing eyes on the magma, waiting for the creature to remerge.  He does not pay much attention to Amelris or Crow, trying not to eye-roll at their...antics.  He does give Tetra a side-eye, noting how easily she was flustered.  Something for him to ask about later, but right now...

"I doubt the creature would pose much threat beyond this room, but I do not see anything wrong with not leaving a matter half-finished, I suppose."

"Fi, do you know what is in the room locked away?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia's expression goes flat as the others apparently decide they should finish off the creatures. It isn't that Sarracenia is opposed to it, she just wants to get out of the heat and into some air-conditioning!

She blinks as Fi asks Tetra about the goddess. Sarra doesn't know who Hylia is, but being a possible direct descendant of a goddess is a big deal! Tetra denies it though, so she just gives a questioning and slightly disappointed look before brandishing her hammer again. "Do not feel obligated to do this, Dargon. It would be quite dangerous even if you can both resist the lava -and- breathe within it." she says, apparently still trying to convince them to leave this hellhole as soon as possible.
Staren     Staren shrugs. "You know more about the creature than us. If it will get in the way of your quest, we should destroy it. If it will stay here and bother no one, is it really worth the effort?"

"Really, it's up to our Goron friend here. If he wrestles it, we will finish the job. If he does not... we will move on."
Link As the group moves to encourage Dargon to begin wrestling parasites, he considers it, and then nods. "As long as I don't have to get too hurt, sure! I'll try and pin it for you." Fi responds to Tetra. "I see."

Raziel gets a reply. "The Hero's predecessor put something great in there. We must recover it." She's being...cagey, it seems. Like she doesn't want to give the answer straight up. Trust issues, maybe?

And then, Dargon rolls into a ball, builds up speed, and launches himself into the lava to try and dislodge the parasite and grapple it.

The parasite is knocked out of the lava, onto the cracked obsidian. Link takes his sword and moves up into position. Fi follows, touching his sword briefly, allowing her to glow...but, despite what the others may be expecting, she doesn't change at all.

The group all has the opportunity to get a hit in to finish it. Link moves to strike, and suddenly, Fi rushes forward besides him, an arm stretched out, attacking in unison. It moves to slash into the Lava Parasite, and cuts a tendril off with sheer sharpness. The others can kill the beast - Fi is clearly just testing her skills after a millennium.
C     "ARCUS Activate."

A blue haze flickers around his body as Crow stretches one hand out. The room begins to grow dark despite the illumination of the molten earth around them, the shadows gathering into a focal point under the parasite. As if it were a portal to another world, a pitch black spear shoots up to skewer the creature in one smooth jab before releasing surges of crimson lightning.

The red electric cracks drain the monster's vitality, giving it to Crow as a form of magical healing with every ear-splitting howl of the red lightning. The spear fades away with the darkness, only seconds after manifesting.
Raziel "I see," Raziel says, keying on the avoidance of his question.  Perhaps it was simply caution, perhaps it is something more.  Answers can be gotten later, right now...

The Parasite is removed, Raziel leaps into action, repeatedly striking at the body of the thing with swift sword strikes, enhanced by the Water Reaver.  Each blow not just causing a strike from a sword, but the force of a jet cutting through whatever Raziel can get his hands on.

Finally, he rolls back, trying to make sure he doesn't get hit with any magma blast once the thing dies.
Amelris Belthrone "HEEEEEY, go Dargon!" Amelris calls out, pumping a fist into the air. Gorons DO seem to be able to kickass, if they can all do that cannon ball thingie! It's a powerful move. They REALLY do look like Tiny Titans with that.

The Miqo'te springs his rapier up to his hand, the blade dancing as he swings it into the air. It leaves a crystaline streak behind the swipe, several other blades growing out of it that are launched out of the air to home into the Parasite.

He keeps a good, close eye on Fi. That is... well, that's going to be something he needs to talk to, sometimes.
Staren     If they're doing this, Staren will contribute! He sticks to the railgun since it's worked well enough so far.

And he observes Fi's attack. "So. A metaphorical sword then. Interesting."
Alruna Greengate Alruna claps the Goron's arm and draws her lance as he prepares.

She's ready for the parasite's unceremonious ejection from its lair, pinning it to the floor of the cavern before raking her lance away, slicing outwards through its flesh. No need for any flashy finishing technique. Especially not when red lightning erupts from the floor beneath it to finish the creature off.

That was... anticlimactic, really. She rests the butt of her lance on the ground, leaning on it and trying to ignore the beads of sweat rolling down her neck. "Well done, Dargon!" she congratulates the Goron. All right, /now/ they can leave.
Rean Schwarzer Rean shrugs. Well, may as well join in. He rushes in, swiftly drawing his sword into a deft strike across the parasite's body.
Tetra     Tetra seems satisfied with Fi's reply, at least enough to let it go. As Dargon retrieves the parasite, she nocks a single arrow, charging it with ice and loosing at whatever she estimates to be the parasite's 'core'.

"Perhaps now, the Darknut's spirit can rest easily. I can't imagine it was particularly pleasant to be piloted by such a creature..."

She was expecting something rather different from Fi. A transformation into a sword, rather than... this. "You... are not what I thought you would be, Fi. The Golden Goddesses and our ancestors had a sense of poetry, I think..." She smiles lightly. "... if that sword isn't to your liking, Fi... Link, would you come with me to Kakariko, when we're done here? I know the blacksmith. We could look into having it reforged."
Sarracenia      "Oh? What sort of great something?" Sarracenia presses as Dargon heads toward the lava. The creature is beached, and it is time to finish it off. And the faster that is done, the better. So, Sarracenia brandishes her hammer even as she watches Link and Fi attack together. Interesting! But, that is not the only interesting thing. Sarracenia's hammer starts to glow with a prismatic aura, and that aura starts to flow over her hands and down over her body, causing her hair and the ends of her skirt to float a bit as if she is suspended in water.

"Yes, good work Dargon!" she calls out, her voice sounding more gruff than usual and a sort of feral grin appearing on her face. Then, she charges forward, hammering in a frenzy! She rains another heavy, thudding blow with every second, as if the hammer has possessed her. Hopefully with there combined efforts the lava squid is left merely a pile of cooked calamari!
Link The group moves to finish the beast. Raziel's watery Reaver strikes cool it enough to be handled, while Crow's black spear impales it with red lightning, Amelris's rapier swipes through, Staren's railgun rips it apart, Alruna's lance pierces it, Sarracenia's hammer smashes it, and Tetra's ice arrow finishes it off, freezing into nothing.

As the group finishes off, Dargon raises his hands in victory, and rejoins the group. Fi doesn't answer Sarracenia, explicitly, though she does answer Tetra. "The Hero needs a reliable sword. We will take you up on that offer." Link is about to intercept when Fi moves for the hallway, now that their beast is dead. It dropped its beak as parts, if anyone wants lava squid beak to turn into potions.

They still can't get through the code door, and Link seems fatigued anyways, so doing so today would be a terrible decision. Link sighs, and talks to the others. "We should return to Goron City. Tell them...what happened, and send off word to Hyrule Castle Town that the Master Sword has been found."

Since they're not done with their expedition, resting in Goron City is still allowed, for those willing.
