Rean Schwarzer LAST TIME

Class VII, Nanoha, Saracennia and Kotone brainstormed some ideas for their event for the Thors Military Academy School Festival. They eventually settled on a film adaptation of Red Moon Rose - a local vampire novel. With everyone's input and offers of help, things started to take shape.

NOW

Everyone's in Class VII's classroom again, with a few extra chairs scattered about for anyone who wants to to sit down.
"Ok!" Machias says, standing at the front of the room again. There's writing on the chalkboard, a short list of things they need to put together and work out. "Emma's already worked out the script with some help from the Literature Club, " Machias gestures at Emma, who starts handing out copies of the script to everyone. "And George's offered to do the filming for us."

Machias gestures to an older student in a yellow jumpsuit sitting on one of the desks. George waves, then gives what looks like a large, bulky camcorder sitting on the desk next to him a pat. "I brought plenty of memory quartz, so we should be good to go for now."

Machias nods, and checked off the next thing on the list - filming. "So that leaves figuring out roles, costumes, and other props. Most of the book takes place in Heimdallr, so we might be able to record on location for a lot of the scenes...not everything though." He then turns to their guests, Sarracenia in particular. "You said you had someone who could make the costumes for us?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is practically vibrating with excitement at the thought of being in a production of some kind. Finally people might appreciate her for her beauty, her poise, her grace! She is hardly paying attention until her name is called. She blinks, then stands and curtseys regally. "Of course! My personal fashionista, Lily!"

She makes a grand gesture toward a mousey young woman with large glasses, blue eyes, and light blonde hair. She is wearing a dress that almost rivals Sarracenia's own in design and coloration, which contrasts the girl's rather meek demeanor. "U-um...h-hello. I am Lily. It is nice to m-" the girl offers quietly, curtseying after Sarracenia.

Sarracenia cuts her off mid-sentence though by speaking over her. "Lily makes almost all of my dresses by hand. There is no finer seamstress in all of the Sundew Kingdom. Give her a design, or even an idea of a design, and she can make it a reality~ And of course, I can cover the costs of any materials we might need." Sarracenia says proudly.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is looking at the chalkboard like she's seeing something from the stone age being put to use, she's not being rude but she clearly has this holey shit is's a Chalkboard look on her face.

"Costumes well we might be able to go shopping at various places and we could always hire Tomoyo Daidouji for costumes. She's one of the best in the sector."

She's got a copy of the book in hand which she's going over for a moment. 5R
"There is also that Princess. Though your option may be better for our needs in terms of time. I could likely help with the sets if you want. Also I could help if you need a stage hand I can make myself invisable...after all."
Rean Schwarzer Machias nods, "Ok, glad that's settled." He checks off costumes and sets. "Now for casting...Well, there's a lot of us, and not a lot of major roles. There's plenty of room for extras, though." He writes the following on the board:

ALPHONSE
ROSE
LUCCA
ELROY
GARRARD

"Those are the characters we have, plus extras, like various Ghouls or soldiers."

Elliot raises his hand. "Actually, I think Rean should play Alphonse."

Rean turns to Elliot. "Wait, seriously? Why me?"

Elliot shrugs. "His backstory, and the fact that he kind of gets wrapped up in all this because he wanted to help find the truth sounds very you."

Rean sighs. "You have a point there...Ok, sure. Why not?"

"Hmmm...I kind of want to try being Rose or Lucca..." Alisa says.

Emma hesitates for a moment, and then speaks up. "Um...Is it alright if I played Rose?" She asks. "I kind of admire her a lot, she seems like a very strong person..."

Alisa nods. "Ok, in that case, I'll be Lucca!"

Fie turns to Millium. "Wanna be a ghoul with me, Millium?"

"Ehehe, sure!" She makes a creepy sort of 'zombie' pose. "Let's eat some people!"

"I'd like to be Garrard, if you don't mind." Gaius says.

"I guess I'll take Elroy." Machias says.

With some more discussion, The casting went like this:

ALPHONSE : Rean
ROSE : Emma
LUCCA : Alisa
ELROY : Machias
GARRARD : Gaius

And with that, everyone began to prepare for the show.

TASK 1: COSTUME DESIGN

"Ok, here's everyone's measurements."  Alisa says handing off a slip of paper to Lily. "The book takes place in our world's middle ages, so there should be plenty of illustrations of what clothes were like back then. We'll need...a couple of soldier's outfits for Alphonse, Elroy and Garrard, a regular dress for Lucca, and a fancy sort of battle dress for Rose...Actually, I think there's an illustration of her in the book..."

She opens up the book and shows her a picture inside that shows a blonde woman in a blue coat standing across from a dark shadow, a crimson moon in the sky. (https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/kiseki/images/4/41/Roselia_-_Fine-tuning_Sketches_4_%28Sen_III%29.png/revision/latest?cb=20180420171656)
"We'll also need torn clothes for the ghouls, since they're undead and all. Also, we'll need makeup for that, won't we?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia hmphs at Kotone's suggestion of seamstress. "Tomoyo is quite skilled, but she seems rather busy most of the time. Lily should suffice for this, and her time is my time." she says. Lily seems a bit annoyed as well, though her expression is only a mild frown. "I promise you can count on me." the young woman says with quiet confidence. "A-and I am already here, so..."

Lily takes the measurements and nods at the instructions. She pulls out notepad and pencil to take notes. She also studies any illustrations that are available. They will help quite a bit. She notes who will be playing what role, then looks to Sarracenia. "M'lady, if you please?"

Sarracenia blinks. "Oh! Of course." She hands her purse to Lily who takes it to a corner of the classroom...and starts pulling supplies out of it in much the same way Sarra pulls explosives. Silks and satins and cotton textiles of several colors and qualities. And even a couple of pattern mannequins are produced, one male and one female.

Sarracenia claps gleefully as Lily gets to work, then turns to Alisa. "I can also provide Sundew helmets for those playing soldiers if needed." She reaches into the purse and pulls out a man-o-war style helmet and hands it to Rean. "You will make such a heroic hero, Rean~" she says, fluttering her eyes a bit and giggling.
Kotone Yamakawa So the talk is on who will play who and things are worked out. She finds they seemed to have it worked out and now to work on the costume design. That will bit a bit of the harder par but well the measurements are already done.

"Ah I see. So maybe hit up a museum for some reference on the gear and the such? Oh, that's useful there we got her covered. As for the undead? Humm? I could likely do that through makeup? I might need to get some parts altered a bit."

She notes but does not seem bothered by this idea.

"This is true she's got a waitlist a mile long doesn't she."

She now is grinning this will be fun she thinks more fun than she thought.
Rean Schwarzer "Whoa..." Alisa says, watching Sarracenia just drag out a whole studio's worth of supplies out of her purse. Rean takes the helmet from Sarracenia. "I'll give it my best." He says, putting the helmet on. "There's a museum in Heimdallr we can look at while location scouting."

SO while Lily does her thing, Alisa asks, "So where would we get stage makeup, I wonder? What kinds of things would you need to make someone look like a ghoul?"

TASK 2: SET DESIGN AND LOCATION SCOUTING

As it turns out, one of the sequences late in the story takes place in the Heimdallr catacombs - A place that Class VII's been to before, in fact. Just one problem. There's a lot of sewer monsters down here already. So the dark underground sewer system needs to have the monster kept out of the area while they're filming.

"We could just beat them all up, but there's got to be some way to just keep them out of the area. That at least seems like less work." Machias says, hoisting his shot gun over one shoulder.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia perks at the mention of stage make-up. "Well, there is really only one option when you are looking for stage make-up. A cosplay or costume shop!" she says excitedly. "And if for some reason this town does not have one of those, I can arrange for some to be sent here by the time the show is to start. And it seems we might need at least a little stage blood as well? I have some experience with applying make-up. I do my own on occassion." she says.

On the subject of filming and location, Sarracenia considers. "Would you prefer the authenticity of the catacombs? Or would a quickly constructed tunnel suffice? If we need to section off part of the catacombs I am sure we could do that." she says, then pauses. "How long do we have until the festival, anyway?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "I can help with the Location scouting though are there any intact building from that era such as castles or parts of towns or cities? If there any intact and we can get permission to do the shooting there that would help." She looks over to Sarra for a moment. "Maybe your kingdom should get into the movie business Princess, as for the monsters... We might want to check out some of the ones on my world we have some from that era intact in some parts of my world and we don't have monsters to worry about."
Rean Schwarzer "We've got under a month and a half left." Alisa says. She thinks some more, and continues, "And maybe in the Gardinier District? The Opera House is over there, wouldn't be surprised if there's a place that sells stage makeup." As for whatever's going on in the catacombs, "Either one is fine, honestly. There's plenty of ruins all over Erebonia, and a tunnel would be fine, I guess...But we have the real thing right here, so why wouldn't we?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia shrugs lightly. "It seems a bit of a dangerous endeavor simply to secure a set. And what if monsters break through during filming or practice? We could lose set pieces, costumes, or worse one of you could be hurt! Not to mention mindless monsters are notoriously bad actors and extras." she says.

She smirks lightly and lets out a haughty 'hmhm~' as Kotone suggests starting a Sundew Kingdom movie business. "Actually, that is not a bad idea! Movie stars are quite famous, after all. If I were to star in some movies or television shows, I am certain I could aquire some proper fame and popularity!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa thinks that Sarracenia brings some good options to the table. "True and if you can get a studio going? It should help with employment for your citizens." She get back on task now. "If you have the right sort of ruins for this story's era we should put it to use then."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia adds, "But, I do understand if you want an air of authenticity to it. It should not be hard to isolate a section of the catacombs with my building supplies if that is what you want to do, and my soldiers could help stand guard to ensure that no monsters get through. If you do want to use the catacombs, we would need to head down and find an area suitable to the production."
