Samhain CRACO, ITALY
EARLY EVENING

A new movie is being filmed in the 'ghost town' of Craco, Italy, abandoned in the 80s after flooding, earthquakes, and decay. A romance movie about a young woman who comes to Craco on vacation and meets a ghost in the ruins, the movie is highly anticipated due to being the first romance movie by famed and adventurous director Guillame Hoarke.

Filming was underway, when a warning came out, anonymously. Leave before Halloween, or they'd regret it. Supernatural sightings were seen simultaneously, and so, unable to leave due to the filming schedule, the crew has hired Elite security to protect them from any threats.

Tonight is October 31st. Halloween. The filming's already underway - current scene is one of the encounters between the girl and the ghost. As long as they stay out of camera shot, the bodyguards have been given full access to Craco. Craco is full of old-style buildings, centuries old, and is highly vertical, allowing climbing access. There's a church, a watchtower at the top of the town, and many 'alleyways' to navigate through.

There's also an eerie sense that something's going to happen. This isn't just paranoia.
The Kid     The Kid has taken up a patrol route through the crumbling town. Truth be told, he finds the film premise hokey, and the actors mediocre so he's happy to take any chance he can get to not be at the filming of each scene.

At present, he's making his way for the watchtower to give the town a scan through the scope of his repeater. The strange chill in the air doesn't seem to bother him, but his hair is standing on edge. He's not scared of ghosts per-se, but he's tense in that way that someone anticipating violence is.
Selene What better for investigating a ghost than another ghost? A cat. Yes, Selene's brought her flaming cat today, the heavy little wad of arson taking a nap in her arms while she scouts the area out, her usual attire of a pastel shirt, shorts, and a flowery hat not really matching any of her surroundings.

The luchador mask and matching face paint probably doesn't help much, either. Luckily, she's doing a fairly good job keeping herself out of the camera's way, opting instead to look for a way into the church to find a good lookout spot upstairs. It might be hard to hear the movie shooting from here, but that's the price she'll have to pay for now to try and unearth this ghost or werewolf or whatever it is.

Plus, she might be able to hear the outtakes before they even get to a theatrical release. As she heads into the church and looks for a way up to the roof, she'll keep her eyes out for the most obvious signs of ghosts: Weird slime, excessively cold winds, and jump scaring noises as she turns around corners.
Samhain The Watchtower's off-camera, as are the Church, so they're good places to investigate. The Watchtower has, as Kid will notice, someone on top of it.

They don't appear to be either part of the crew or the cast - a woman in a black-and-grey hooded robe, holding a staff. She's just standing there, ominously, watching the filmshoot, staff against the ground. She's silent until The Kid enters earshot, in which case, she speaks just loud enough to be heard.

"He's coming. They can't escape his justice."

Simultaneously, the church is in actually pretty good repair. There's fresnos and an altar, which, as Selene approaches, finds has recently had roses placed on it. They're fresh.

Speaking of fresh roses, petals blow into the room as a man in a white suit with a pink rose tie approaches. He's got light pink hair, matching his tie, cut short, and a rose between his fingers.

"Ah, la petite mademoiselle, you've made the right choice. The church is the only place the monster can't enter. He'll be attacking any moment, so you should be safe, as all roses should be."

He hands Selene the rose with a flourish but there's no actual romantic vibe coming off him. This must just be his Weird Wrestling Gimmick or whatever, obviously.
Selene The church being as clean as it is has Selene looking rather disappointed. Noticing the petals blowing before the man's voice, she strikes a rather shitty martial arts pose and nearly topples over from her lack of balance in the process. His choice of greeting has her furrowing her brow, and she gives the cat a brief nudge on the side to wake it up before she finally addresses the stranger.

"Whoa. Really? That's lame. I wanted to get into a ghost fight." She takes the rose with a cautious glance at the petals, then stares right at the pink man while she bites into the stem to try and figure out if it's poisoned or just a regular rose.

"I mean, I'm getting paid to do this instead of not fighting it, you know? Ghosts that mess with people are pretty up there on my fight and or watch and favorite list." She starts walking, but stops after about three steps to peer at the rose man with a suspicious glint in her eyes.

"Wait a minute. Are YOU the ghost? Or are you the ghost's agent? Because I'm pretty sure ghosts aren't supposed to have legs, but an agent for one..." She reaches for his face, apparently intent to trying to tug at his ear or nose as if it were a mask.
The Kid     Kid sighs as she stumbles across a woman in the watchtower. An old resident maybe, angry that the place is being used for filming. He can relate a little. Or at least, a past version of him can. If the ruins of Caelondia wound up a tourist attraction? He'd be mad too.

"Ma'am, gonna have to ask you to come down. We can get some tea from catering if you like. Dunno about you but I'm freezin' up here." Is it just the chill from being higher, or is it getting colder around here?
Samhain It is absolutely just a regular rose. The man laughs, and then has his nose and ear tugged at, causing him to gah and try and pull back. Once he's straightened himself up, using remarkable strength to break free, he answers.

"Why, you could say his agent, I /suppose/, but to tell you the truth, I find myself much more interesting than he is. You're the girl with the firecat, aren't you? He's mentioned you before! Why, what a romantic soul to such an unromantic beast!" A pause. "No, not in that way." He clarifies.

The Kid, meanwhile, means well, but hits the wrong mark. The woman turns towards him, her eyes shining in the moonlight. "My, my. You don't appear to be part of the crew. You must be their security. Tea, you say? I'd come...but I have an appointment to keep. And you should be checking on the crew. Right about..."

A scream echoes out from the production van. The Kid, being outdoors, can hear it better than Selene can, but the fiery cat could pick it up for her.

"Now. We'll meet again, most surely." The Kid has been in the Multiverse for a while now. He can probably tell that this woman is just ominous to be an asshole.

She leaps off the watchtower to the other side, in what could be an ankle-breaking fall. She's gone by the time he peers over the ledge, should he not go to check on the scream.
The Kid     Kid immediately gets the sense this woman is more than just an old woman. He takes on a guarded stance as she speaks, and flinches as he hears a distant scream. She leaps from the tower and he runs to the edge to look for her. "Damn."

From his subspace storage, he produces a bottle of Hop Scotch and downs its contents in a single long pull. And then he leaps from the tower, somersaulting through the air as the ground rushes past below him. Landing on a roof below, he begins leaping across them, taking the fastest possible route to the filming site.
Selene With the rose's safety confirmed, Selene tucks it into the brim of her hat as she keeps her eyes squinted right at the mysterious rose man. "Depends who's asking. Let me talk with some of my people first..."

A ghost that already knows her? There's a few possibilities there. She pulls out a Pokeball, and out comes a fat purple ghost! "Yo, Chuggins. You know this guy?" She asks of her creature the moment it appears, and it does a brief spin before staring at the man, its eyes narrowing steadily until they're all but closed, then shakes its head in response.

"Welp. Not him, revolver guy's already taken care of, and I'm pre-etty sure all those other ghosts wouldn't say anything good about me." She spreads her fingers and holds them over her forehead dramatically as she turns away. "That just leaves..."

She points at the distant scream, barely catching it during her dramatic pause thanks to the Torracat suddenly standing up and staring at the outside of the church. "Uh. Screaming person!" A beat, then "... Uh screaming person? Wait a minute. No. The... Welder! Sah! With the oh yeah CHUGGINS!" Her brain going a mile a minute now, Selene yanks her still-groggy Rotomdex out of her bag, opening it up, and setting it to VIDEO RECORDING mode before handing it over to the Gengar.

"Get the action in center frame, but keep an eye out for our guy if he shows up and goes into a spoopy monologue!" The Gengar gives her a thumbs up, and then Selene breaks into a run to try and get to the filming site. "I didn't even know he had an agent already. Does this mean he's gonna start doing sponsorships?"

If she's not stopped, she makes it maybe a third of the way through the church before she has to settle for walking out there.
Samhain "Samhain, yes. Well then, go enjoy the show. Remember, the church is safe."

The Kid arrives to the crew first, right as the Director is yelling 'cut!'. "What is it now?!" Guillaume says, frustrated. "We finally had it that shot! If you're dying over there, watch whose set you're dying on!"

The trailer is wide open. Selene manaegs to catch up, filming it all, when they find it - one of the extras, a hook through the back of his shirt, hanging him from the lights. He's thankfully alive, but definitely unconscious and bruised up by some form of blunt weapon.

As crew start crowding, there's a loud CLUNK sound, as a metal claw hits against the floor of a roof. A large man, definitely built in the upper body, wearing a duster, a bowler hat, and sporting a metal claw-arm, is drawing attention. He speaks with a villainous drawl. "If you want to escape Samhain the Slasher, you'll have to bring these people to the church. Only place the ghost can't enter."
The Kid     Kid stands on the roof and looks down at the film site. No one seems hurt. But no one here screamed? "Who's missing?" he calls down to Guillaume. First things first; find the source.

That is, until a claw-handed man arrives and calls down. 'Go to the church' he says. Kid doesn't trust like that. Might be a trap, lure everyone in to deal with them easily. So he draws a revolver and points it at the man.

"Who exactly are you? Since you seem to know so much, tell us what's goin' on," he demands.
Selene "Whoa. How'd he even get up there?" Selene's first thought is not of the man's safety, but simply the logistics of getting hooked onto the lights. The noise from the claw draws her attention away quickly enough, though she does spare a moment to glance back at her Gengar.

"You getting this?" It gives the trainer a thumbs up in return, still holding the strange red phone-Pokemon thing sideways for footage purposes later.

"An escort quest, huh...? But they've got feet, so they'll be fine while we get to business!" Grinning excitedly at best and maniacally at worst, Selene points dramatically towards the claw-man while pressing her fingertips against her mask again. "One of you get a ladder and get that guy down! Leave Claw Guy to us."

She flashes the crew a confident thumbs up, turns to the claw man, then draws her thumbs across her neck dramatically. "If you want to get to these people, you'll have to get through us first! But don't get too... FIRED up!"

She waits. Nothing happens. "... FIRED. UP." Still nothing. The Torracat is still standing atop her head, but it doesn't spit a single flame out. "... Flamethrower. Low, around the feet." She finally mutters to the cat, and that's what finally prompts it to launch a barrage of flames at the claw-man, indeed aiming for his feet to try and halt his advance!
Samhain The Kid is right to point his gun, because it stops the claw-man's advance, as does the flames at his feet. "Hot, hot, hot!" He shouts out, but quickly leaps back, pointing the claw-arm at them. "Damnation! Mysteria said this plan would be foolproof! Just bring them into the church for Sah to fulfill his justice! Why did I ever go with their plans?!"

He begins laughing after that, keeping the claw pointed. "We're the Fearsframes, the ones who'll achieve their happy endings. We weren't interested in these people until old Sah said he learned about the director's cruelty, and thought to punish him by turning him into one of us. It'd be a hoot, admittedly, but..."

"Agh! This should have been a snap! Why did you Elites have to get involved? Whatever." He moves to fire the claw at the director as a grappling arm, trying to pull him to him. To make matters worse, at that exact moment, a storm of rose petals flies through, moving to obscure everyone's vision and make it hard to aim!

The rose guy from earlier speaks up. "Desperado! Keep your uncouthness in check, and get him to the church. I'll deal with these miscreants." "You're a real lowlife, Carnivale! Heheheh!"
The Kid     "I don't give a damn who you are," Kid says as Desperado introduces himself. "I'm hired to do a job. Protect the crew. If y'all are out here tryin' to hurt 'em, I can't allow it. Walk away before I break you."

The claw is flung, and the air becomes thick with petals. Kid's arm swivels towards where the director was, but with his vision obscured, he can't risk firing into the crowd. "Get 'em out of there!" He yells over the gale to Serena, and then breaks into a run, producing a spear and planting it. The shaft flexes and springs back into place, launching him at Desperado to try and tackle him off the roof!
Selene "... Heh. Knew it." Selene flashes the claw-man a toothy grin when he mentions Sah by name, although it looks more like a weird sort of scowl thanks to the facepaint. "So /he's/ the mastermind behind all this once again! To think he's got an even cooler team put together now, too..." She clenches her fist, first high in the air, then brings it down with another dramatic flourish. "Will his swole angry ghost justice ever cease?!"

Her head perks up just a bit when the claw man mentions the director's cruelty, and she only holds a hand out at the claw uselessly as it goes zooming right past her. "Oh no! The director!" The Torracat starts inhaling as it prepares to launch another blast of fire, but stops when the trainer reaches up to put a hand over its mouth.

"Not yet. I wanna see where they're going with this guy." She whispers to the cat, and then she looks over as she hears THE ROSE GUY. "You! Uh... Ghost agent! What's the meaning of all this?" Again, Selene shouts with a dramatic stiltedness in her tone as she hurries over to the Gengar, nudging its confused face a few times until it finally turns the camera on Carnivale. "Are you going to turn your thorns on these people without even telling us why?!"

There's no question about it. She is completely trying to get some exposition out of this guy. She mutters a quick 'clear a path' to the Torracat, though, and it starts bellowing flames once more, hot enough to incinerate the petals in her way as she starts approaching Carnivale.
Samhain The Kid uses his spear to launch straight into Desperado. The clawed man is bulky and heavy, but they both go scattering into the street, as does the director, who bonks his head and is knocked unconscious (but alive). Desperado moves to use his strength to try and push over and grab the director, pointing his claw at The Kid, but he's staggering enough to be slow on the upkeep. "And I don't give a damn about your paycheck! This is our future we're fighting for here, and you humans are in our way!"

Suddenly, it DOES get colder, instead of eerie-moment cold. The Kid can see it in the reflection of Desperado's metal claw. The hooded woman from before is standing behind him, weaving some sort of frost spell. After it's finished, she flings it straight at him, trying to hit him in the back if he hasn't reacted fast enough.

"My, my. A troublesome pest." Mysteria says. "Let's clean this up, Desperado."

Meanwhile, Selene's firecat starts incinerating petals, allowing them to approach Carnivale. She's very lucky she picked this one. He's the exposition type.

"Ah, did the slasher not tell you? We do this to create our happy ending. We're rewriting the story, by turning humans into Fearsframes, and creating a world where monsters like us can have our happily ever after!"

Sadly, he's just as cryptic as Samhain was. It's like he's not exactly sure what the outcome will be, but is positive about the method.

But instead of allowing her to think about it much, Carnivale starts dancing as soon as he notices the camera, does a flourish of a gesture, and then moves to kick the Torracat in the face as soon as it gets close, trying to punt it away!
The Kid     "Then it comes to fightin'. Always does."

Kid catches a reflection in Desperado's claws, but doesn't immediately turn around to face the woman. The ice spell comes in, closer and closer... and then meets the brass face of a bull. Kid manifests a tower shield and swings it to meet the frozen orb. While the shield gains a fine layer of frost, the spell is deflected at its caster.

Two on one, in an old, easily burnable town. Kid goes through his mental catalogue of weapons, and immediately discards his Mortar and Flame Bellows for that reason. Instead, he settles on...

A shortbow appears in his hands. Drawing an arrow from the same place he got it, he aims at Desperado and pulls back on the string, the weapon creaking under Kid's impressive draw strength. He fires, the arrow speeding at Desperado's claw with enough force to try and knock it from its mounting before ricocheting off and flying straight backwards past the Kid's head directly at Mysteria.
Selene Pressing her fingertips against the individual bits of her hat, Selene starts chuckling ominously as she holds her other hand out towards Carnivale. While the Gengar keeps following him with the camera, there's a moment where it looks like it might be focused more on the exposition man than the trainer.

In that moment, Carnivale might notice Selene giving him a thumbs up. Another moment later, and her hand has shifted to pointing at him. "Monsters like you deserves no happy ending! This is the world of humans, and we're gonna end your story right in the first chapter!" She shouts dramatically in return, cackling afterwards complete with throwing her head back and holding her arms to her sides with her palms bared outwards.

And then the Torracat gets punted several yards into the air like a fuzzy flaming football. "Hah! Did you think that would be it? I've got more tricks up my sleeve than that! Watch closely..." Jogging briefly, she catches the cat in her decidedly non-sleeved t-shirt and whips out a small spray bottle, spraying the healing liquid all over the badly bruised creature to keep it in the fight at least a little bit longer before tossing the protesting cat right back at Carnivale. "Heaing in battles isn't against the rules, right? So let's see how long you can keep it up against this Heat Wave!"

The Torracat's bell rings, and the air becomes unbearably hot in a path towards Carnivale, small sparks starting to appear at first before erupting and converging in larger flames all around the flowery Fearsframe.
Samhain Kid's shield comes out, deflecting the orb back at Mysteria. She's actually surprised, as it slams into her head, knocking her hood back and causing her to flip over and fall to the ground. Quickly, she levitates back up using her staff. Her hair is black with streaks of violet, and quite long.

While this is happening, the air hits the mounting of Desperado's claw. It can't dislodge it - it's on their pretty tight - but the claw malfunctions from the strike, gripping and ungripping, rendering it useless until Desperado can repair it. He can't grab the director, and so the arrow flies at Mysteria!

"Fool!" Is all she says, as she weaves a barrier spell. The arrow starts piercing the spell, and stops so close to her that she's actually sweating.

Flames flash into Carnivale, who creates a barrier of rose petals to stop from burning, but shouts "Ah, hot!" even so. Watching the healing, he snaps his fingers. "Goons!"

A bunch of business-suit wearing masked people(?), somehow looking more like monsters in proportions and palette, suddenly appear and charge at Torracat. They're actually useless in a fight, and Torracat can readily destroy them. "Hmph. A gentleman doesn't get his hands dirty."

Desperado's about to rush at The Kid, when the church bell rings. "Tsk, that's the sign. Letcha let him handle it!" Mysteria sighs, as giant photo frames appear. Desperado leaps into his, Mysteria flies up into one, and one just falls on top of Carnivale as he's posing.

An old-timey construction worker in a welding mask suddenly leaps off the church spire, crossing the vast distance, and aims to land right in front of The Kid with enough force to crack the ground and hopefully shake him off his feet. He's not moving for an attack immediately. "I am Samhain the Slasher. The man you protect is a vile human, who abuses his employees. Why do you protect him?"
The Kid     Kid watches the two depart as the bell chimes in the distance. "So much for their 'happy end' if they're runnin' at the first sign of trouble." But the real reason they ran becomes clear. Like a meteor, Samhain descends upon him. He looks up at the tower of a man and goes toe to toe with him.

"Cuz I've been hired to. It's my job," he says in response. "If it's your 'job' to kill 'im, then let's get this over with."

In his hand, a great wood and brass mallet appears, and he leaps on the spot. Jumping high enough to look the killer in the eyes, he brings the weapon around in a vicious arc from behind him to down upon Samhain's head, aiming to drive him deeper into the cracked ground.
Selene "Now you're bringing minions into this fight? Coward!" Selene shouts from safely behind her fire-breathing cat, ducking down with her arms still spread to her sides as she makes quiet 'pspspsps' noises to get it to run back to her with the goons giving chase. "The Flame Hurricane should be enough to deal with them!"

A beat, and then she whispers 'Fire Spin'. That gets the Torracat spewing its flames once again, the bell ringing more rapidly as it blasts flames around it and the trainer in a decently large pillar of flame, both to protect the pair as well as fend off the monstrous masked people.

By the time the fires die down, the photo frames appear, Carnivale is gone, and Samhain has appeared. She's about to call out to him upon recognizing the masked man, but stops herself to instead advance towards him. Instead of continuing with that boisterous and vaguely racist tone, however, she shifts rather abruptly into actually looking contemplative about how to approach this.

On one hand, the Kid's motivation and her own initial motivation do make basic sense. Money is money! On the other hand, knowing Samhain personally makes it tricky to try and earn that money. Unless...

... That's it! "Yeah... That'll do it. Alright, don't hold back, TC! Light him up!" For once, the feline seems to actually recognize that signal as it spews another burst of fire at Samhain's feet, aiming to turn the ground around him into a melting mass to coincide with the Kid's downwards smash. "Put him in the ground!"

The Gengar, of course, continues recording all of it.
Samhain As the Kid responds, Samhain becomes cold. "You do not care about the injustice of the man you protect? Despicable. You are just as evil as he. Greed is all you understand. Violence begets violence? Very well."

Kid leaps, and brings that hammer down. Samhain lifts his arm up, and moves to block the blow. It hits hard. There's a loud CRACK sound, as the killer is driven in deeper, but...

He doesn't seem too bothered by it, or the pain. Lifting his other hand, a claw hammer appears in it, as he lets his currently-damaged arm linger to the side. It's regenerating, but he doesn't want to let that information out.

Instead, as the fire burns at his feet, his boots burn as he steps forward, using raw strength to slowly pull himself out of the crater, moving to swing the hammer at the Kid with rapid hits, but there's something about it. Every strike is trained, as if he went to a school. He blocks and parries, and goes for break-points in an attempt to stagger Kid back or force him off his guard.

After a momment of this, he points the hammer at Torracat, and fires off an orb of darkness. There's a feeling he cares way less about the firecat than he does The Kid, due to anger, but is just playing up the show for Selene's camera.
The Kid     The hammer is not an easy weapon to duel with. The weight of the head makes it unwieldy for deft movement and the thinness of the shaft means it likely can't stand up to sustained blows from another hammer.

In spite of this, Kid fights with one rather well. Perhaps he hasn't been schooled with it, but he does have the air of one who has swung one for much of his life. But he doesn't fight with just that alone. The shield comes out to block heavier hits. At times he wields a machete in his other hand, using it to slash at Samhein's elbow and knees to slow his movement and weaken his swings.

"Money's secondary," he corrects the monster. "It's about doin' a job well. I'm in this life with strong arms 'n a strong back, gotta put 'em to use." He stabs the machete again, aiming to bury it into Samhein's leg before driving it in even further with the hammer.
Selene Even with that facepaint and mask obscuring her face, Selene's eyes still light up visibly at the exchange of blows between the Kid and Samhain, followed by the latter  dragging himself out of the burning crater. She doesn't even seem to mind that she and the cat aren't the main targets of his attacks, although the flaming cat certainly does considering that it's still a target at all. It spits some flames at the orb to try and slow it down, but still gets struck by the dark energy and howls as it gets blasted back.

There's probably something cool she could say, but there's no need to. Things are already getting heated enough between Samhain and the Kid, and Selene holds her hand up briefly to keep the Gengar recording the action while circling around slowly to keep herself out of the shot. The firecat, meanwhile, looks like it's in pretty bad shape already, but it still manages to get back onto its feet with pained grunting and growling all the while.

"Hang in there, TC! Looks like he's confident in his strength even if fire's in the way, so... One more shot to finish this off. Flare Blitz!" Showing no hesitation, the cat's bell rings once more as it surrounds itself with flames, then charges towards Samhain. Rather than shooting the flames forward as Selene's ordered it to this entire job, however, it instead continues the charge, aiming to slam itself directly into Samhain with all the force it can muster in its relatively small body.
Samhain The machete comes out and slashes into Samhain's elbow and knees, slowing him down. When stabbed, it's driven in with the hammer, but he just grunts. It's /affecting/ him...

But he's tough as hell, and he's clearly healing from it in combat time on top of it being not as effective as it should be on a normal person.

Instead, that 'broken' arm shifts out as TC flare blitzes. Samhain is sent pushing back through the crater, but instead of TC then being able to get up and run back, the hand catches the cat by the scruff, and moves to fastball him straight into Kid's face. It's a distraction - it won't actually hurt, really."That's better than greed. But not good enough. Make your choice."

A flick of a wrist, and a fireball suddenly blasts out, moving to explode behind the two, at the movie set, where there's flammables and equipment just waiting to explode. Not all of the crew has escaped yet.

"The director or the crew. If you try to save both, I'll keep fighting until both are gone."

Why is he doing this? He makes that clear as he turns to Selene, body broken. "One shot? You cannot defeat me in one shot. You cannot tear me down with a single blow. I am the Slaughter. I will not accept your heroic bragging and retreat. Now, if you are my friend and helper, make the right choice." He's wary of Selene, but this shows that he likes her enough, and is also depending on her to probably go save the film crew.
The Kid     Fire.

    A burning city.

Kid is starting to sweat, and not from the heat. Rather, all the color is leaving his face as his pupils dilate. But he's not fully gone, not yet at least. He looks up at Samhain. He looks behind him to Selene, to the scared, scattering crew. And then up at the roof with the unconscious director.

    The director, or the crew.

It's not that hard a choice.

A large brass carbine appears in Kid's hand. He looks down the sights, aiming it at the unconscious director's head.

    A single shot rings out.

"There. Leave 'em alone," he commands Samhain.
Samhain As the gun comes out and the bullet rings out, Samhain doesn't have enough time to stop the Kid. The director is slain. He pauses for several long moments, and then speaks. He's clearly dissatisfied...but that was interesting all the same.

"Near the old storefront is a hose system, for situations like this. Use it to put out the fire."

Clutching his fist closed, slowly walking away, Samhain summons a photoframe in front of him, and walks into it slowly. He didn't get a new Fearsframe, but...

Humans can be pretty interesting, can't they?
Selene Although the cat's strike was mightier, Samhain's resilience proves to be too much for it. It gets hurled easily, and it lands whether by impact or by bouncing along the ground without getting up again. Selene purses her lips briefly as she pulls out a small ball, expanding it with the press of a button before recalling the Torracat into it with a thin line of red light.

Selene's grin broadens, moreso than her usual excited grin. "That's the way...!" She bites her lip while trying to contain at least a little bit of that, then starts walking confidently in the direction of the set.

She's still not going to run. That'll just put her in as much danger as the crew. Pulling out a light blue ball next, she tosses it up, and a fat baby whale ball bursts out of it facing the flames. "Hey, crew guys! Don't slip, because things are about to get slimy!"

With that warning given, Selene issues her next command: "Surf all around, Chuggins! The sooner we get the flames under control, the sooner... Uh." Said command is interrupted by the gunshot, and she glances over to stare at the Kid, then at the director's fresh corpse.

"... Whoa. That's some hardcore stuff." That gleam returns to Selene's eyes as she sees the Kid in a different light (also the light from nearby flames) before turning back to the set once more. "Anyway, yeah. Get the flames under control!" The Wailmer obeys, starting to slip and slide around while spewing bucketloads of water (presumably) beneath and around it to douse the flames and everything around it.
