Hanako Hirano      ZHUANSHU

Utsuho gets *special treatment* this time.

Once she's passed out of the Foreigner's Ward and into the city proper, Utsuho is met with a pair of police, in their white cloth jackets and their black-patch shoulderpads and their seven-color buttons. She's pretty noticable, so it isn't hard for them to find her. When they do, they inform her politely that they're here to escort her through the city so she doesn't get lost on the way to her destination.

Her destination, evidently, is a very Japanese-style manor. It has a big yard, with blue-leaf trees scattered around it otherwise identical to cherry blossoms. It has a large pond and a deer-frightener bumping in regular time. It has servants running about in kimonos that look like they're covered in elegant ink paintings. A pair of the Verzuecki foreigners pass by Utsuho on her way in, stopping to tip a hat and curtsey, respectively, in the style of the roughly-approximate era.

On the stoop is a pair of women painting. One of them is older, with long, flowing blonde hair that falls like water down her back. She's perhaps thirty-four at *most*, thirty-one more likely - a noble, regal bearing that speaks of someone married early in life, or someone who made a tremendous mistake in their youth. She has a brush in hand, and is slowly painting a picture.

The other woman is seventeen. She has a frown on her face as she works with a crayon. Her hair is also blonde, and also long, but it's tied in a free-end ponytail that seems spikey and ill-at-odds with her elegant ink-stain kimono. Lipstick and eyeliner bring out the color of her face-

One of the police coughs. "Your guest has arrived."

     The younger woman looks up.

     Her face meets Utsuho's.

Her face goes so red it could match the paint the older woman is painting with.

     "A...ah..."

     Oh.

     That's Hanako.

The older woman looks up at Utsuho with an analytical gaze. This woman is dangerous. "Oh, hello. This is the friend you were so excited to see, dear?"
Utsuho Reiuji While Utsuho enjoyed exploring the city, she has to admit that she *did* get a little lost this time, and perhaps there's something to being escorted. She accepted it and didn't try to run off even once, though she did keep trying to look around like a rubbernecking tourist.

She asked a couple questions, too. Nothing really prying, but big cities are clearly not something she is experienced with, and she simply doesn't know anything about how they're run.

Brought to the big manor, she actually seemed slightly more at ease. She's spent time in a palace before. A manor she understands... though she doesn't quite have her manners down, as she doesn't recognize whether she's supposed to bow or curtsey to the Verzueki and does something awkwardly partway between instead.

And she recognizes, if not the keeper of the manor, someone who is pretty high up in it. She'll have to be on her best behavior... and she may even remember that for a while, as she looks over to the younger of the two.

Twice.

But what she *actually* says, instead of some kind of expression of surprise, is: "That's me! At least, I think it's me. Is someone else visiting too?" Utsuho looks around, but fails to see anyone else who clearly doesn't belong here, and turns back to the pair. "I'm Utsuho Reiuji... I wanted to talk to him is all. I don't get out much! Or I didn't. So... can I borrow Hanako for a while?"

Apparently, the different way of dressing isn't going to throw Utsuho. It's hard to tell, at first glance, if she is intentionally ignoring it, is simply so oblivious that she just takes it in stride, or *what*. She did smile at Hanako though, but she knows enough to talk to the important lady first.
