Shinnosuke Tomari Over half an hour after Mach got Shinnosuke Tomari into the Tridoron, and Chiroptera left with Heart, the car is back at the DMV. While the front of the building has been torn open, the building is evacuated, and it's getting closed up, the back office for the Special Cases Department is still a thing, and that's where Mr. Belt has called the defenders able to sneak in to join up with him and Tomari.

The rest of the SCD isn't here. The Chief is on a phonecall elsewhere regarding the incident, Rinna's Somewhere (read: the Pit, fixing up the Tridoron), Ota is working with the First Division on a case, and Kyuu is probably at home watching anime. Kiriko is off begrudgingly getting some supplies for Shinnosuke and the group, as the only Reliable Person With Hands available.

Tomari is eating milk candy, staring at the clock. Unlike earlier, however, his shirt has been removed to allow him to get bandaged up, and he's got a depressed look on his face. But he knows they need to talk about this. Figure out what happened. And plan for the future.
Hibiki Tachibana     If nothing else, this is not the first time Hibiki has been laid out, and on top of her Symphogear having eaten most of the actual damage, she's hardy enough that she's back on her feet before too long. At least not long enough that she's not able to pull herself together, likely with some assistance, to join the others inside the evacuated DMV. This isn't really how she expected her first visit to the inside of one would go, but strange times. She's not even entirely sure if she /should/ be here.

But she'd like answers just about the same as everyone else involved, and thus, she's found a corner to sit in to bandage herself up. Arms and legs, mostly. She'll have some explaining to do when she gets home, but for now - she's looking about as down as Shinnosuke and mostly silent as the clock has ticked by.

But eventually, the quiet seems to get to her enough to lift her head and speak up a bit while she finishes off another wrap. "...He really had it out for you," she says off in his direction. It's a pretty flat statement.
Hellwarming Trio With the battle complete and her energy spent, Utsuho's found herself drafted into whatever's going on in the SCD office. She seems pretty pleased with herself despite being knocked flat on her ass, and she's staring closely at Shinnosuke as the second ticks on by.

She's not staring at his shirtlessness, though. She's staring at his milk candy.

"Big time. Sounds like Chiri had a point, though." She follows up on Hibiki's observation, letting out a low noise through her nose while tilting her head slowly to the side until it's almost at a ninety degree angle. "You want them dead, so they want you dead. So what're you gonna do about it?"
Shinnosuke Tomari As Hibiki and Utsuho show up, the Kamen Rider pops a milk candy into his mouth as Hibiki speaks. He's quiet the whole time, until, finally-

"He didn't have a point. The Roidmude are angry about their past, whatever that was, perhaps, but...they're still hurting people. He can't make this a both sides thing while their kind kills humans and takes their place to further their goals. Not after the Global Freeze. Not now. I'm going to keep on protecting people." He doesn't elaborate.

Luckily, Mr. Belt does, to distract people from asking him questions! "The Global Freeze was an incident one year ago, where gravity in this region of the world was slowed down, freezing people in time. Shinnosuke...has history with it." Pop, crunch, chew.

"Tell me. What did you think about that 'Kamen Rider' Chiroptera?" Mr. Belt asks the two, since he was busy being a belt and keeping Shinnosuke from dying.
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki frowns, looking away briefly to roll down the sleeves of her hoodie back over some of her bandages, although there's a small nod as he declares he's going to keep protecting people. She's not one to judge Shinnosuke's baggage, even before Mr. Belt speaks up and draws her attention back.

"Global Freeze...so like the same thing he did back there...only much worse." She takes a moment to consider that. If she wasn't able to transform and resist it enough to fight, she would've been totally helpless. Imagining that happening at a large scale...

Any questions she might have on that are put aside as she turns in her seat more properly towards the three, looking to Utsuho and then back. "...I don't really know," she admits with a somewhat complicated look on her face. "I guess I stumbled into a lot more than I was expecting. I wasn't going to let him hurt innocent people. But...it sounded like he thought there was nothing else he could've done but this. That moment when he mentioned 'Banno'...I could tell how bad whatever happened must have..."

Hibiki trails off, with something drawing a grimace out of her before she shifts subjects. "...I'm still figuring out what to make of what he said about justice."
X Flexing his white, textured hand in front of his face, X stares at it just a moment further before reaching out to pull the crooked door open and enter the building. His boots click along the linoleum floor, hissing with internal hydraulics pressing and pushing until he comes to another door, this one cracked open already.

X enters the room, his broken helmet held under-arm. He looked in a much better state, at least physically, than he could have been implied to be .. especially for someone who had been supposedly kidnapped. Most of his outstanding injuries seemed to have been taken care of although, it could be inferred that he was in no shape to really be fighting again, at least not for a little while.

With the look on his face, it looks like he had no intention of such, even so. It was the first time any of them had seen him without his helmet on, actually, and it was an impossibly spiky tassel that stuck out every which way.

" ... justice, usually isn't all it's cracked up to be, even if it's something worth fighting for." X says to Hibiki with a small, sullen nod.
Hellwarming Trio Utusho narrows her eyes slightly when Shinnosuke consumes more milk candy. She's going to be waiting for a moment to try snatching the next piece. As she does that, though, she doesn't respond to him immediately. Instead, she's actually taking the time to listen to him, to Mr. Belt, and to try and absorb the info she's getting!

Unfortunately for her, that just makes things more complicated. "You mean like when things started feeling kinda slow and weird and my ice cream exploded?" He stomach growls at that, but she doesn't seem too bothered by that noise.

She might not realize it's coming from her right away. "Chiri's a good fighter. He's strong, so I want to fight him again. I want to see him get stronger. And he'll get me ice cream next time, so it all evens out." She chuckles quietly under her breath, finally addressing Tomari as she turns from Mr. Belt to the Kamen Rider.

"That's how it works here like anywhere else, right? If you're strong, you get to do what you want. Change the world, keep things the same, control or kill anyone that goes against that. You want to stop the Roidmudes from killing humans, but unless you're strong enough to control them, one side's going to end up dead."

Confident in her own attempt at providing simple-minded wisdom, Utsuho finally takes a seat on a nearby desk. She actually frowns slightly when Hibiki brings up what she noticed, gesturing at her with her head a moment later. "Yeah, he did sound kinda weird talking about this Banno person. Some deeper stuff I don't really get, probably. You know anything about that name, cop guy? Belt? Blue bot?"
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki glances up at X's entrance when he steps in. She's a little surprised to see him, but given they fought together before, it's probably in the 'thankful he's not as messed up as anyone thought' sort of way. She pauses at what he says, only to purse her lips and remain silent for the moment. Another thing to think on, if she didn't have enough of those. But he's not really wrong...maybe Utsuho's not wrong in her way of thinking, either. Hm.

She's very interested in the whole Banno thing as well though, so when Utsuho cuts right to it, she looks back between the three mentioned.
Shinnosuke Tomari Mr. Belt's red faceplate frowns when Hibiki mentions Banno, but it's blink or you'll miss it. Shinnosuke nods about the Global Freeze. "What he did back there was called Heavy Acceleration, or the Heaviness."

Utsuho's words make Tomari toss his empty box of candy into the trash, frustrated. "The world isn't about strength and control. I don't want it to be like that. I just want...peace, for people to be able to take it nice and lazy, without anyone trying to hurt them." Finally, he reacts to X. "Are you...alright? Heart took you, right?"

Regarding Banno, Mr. Belt's faceplate changes again, but doesn't say anything. This time, it can be seen as Shinnosuke shifts. "Banno...Mr. Belt reacted to that name, but I haven't heard it before. Do you know something?" Mr. Belt, sold out, tries to deflect. "Why, it was just a familiar name, like something dead and gone..." Whatever that name has to do with this, it makes Mr. Belt extremely uncomfortable.
X X frowns at being called a 'bot, but he lets it go easily enough. She didn't mean any harm -- and besides, there was no need for him to take his sour mood out on anyone here. "Banno, huh ... I was told a little bit about him, but not much." X admits, looking off to the side, as if staring at something past the walls and windows of this building. Something distant. Or maybe, someone?

After several quiet moments like this, X steps into the room fully and closes the door behind him, shuffling so that he isn't in anyone's way in particular. "Just that he was supposedly, an evil man."

Though he said 'supposedly', there was something about the way X says it that indicates he probably believes it to be the truth.

"I .... I'm not sure if I should have fought today."
Hellwarming Trio "Heavy Acc... That doesn't make any sense. Heaviness is better." Utsuho mutters with a firm nod, although she looks a little less firm and almost dejected when the empty box goes into the trash.

She's still hungry.

"If you want peace, then you better get stronger faster. Otherwise, Chiri's going to get further ahead along with those other three. The kid, the purple guy, the red guy, and the other red guy with the horns."

Xion, Chase, Mach, and Heart. She can't count, and she doesn't remember any of their names, but she's already gotten the mental images set in her head. "It sounded like they're all ready to fight, so you can't get too lazy if you really care about protecting anything."

Mr. Belt's evasiveness regarding Banno doesn't go ignored, and even Utsuho notices! She doesn't push it, however, instead turning to Hibiki and X next. "What's justice, anyway? The only times I ever hear it are when people need an excuse to control someone else, so...?"

She doesn't sound confrontational. Her tone is of genuine confusion.
Hibiki Tachibana     Shinnosuke's reaction to Utsuho gets Hibiki to shuffle uncomfortably in her seat. "...You're a good guy, Kamen Rider. I wish we could get that without needing to fight." Her tone is curt, but her expression leans into a solemn one, and her hands clench tight at her sides. "But it seems like everyone fighting to protect something does it differently...and if you want to protect something..."

Her moment of extra depression is broken up when the questioning about Banno begins in earnest, with Mr. Belt's reaction in particular getting her to look back up and raise an eyebrow. After a moment, Hibiki slowly pushes herself to a stand and puts her hands into her hoodie pockets. She takes a few steps closer towards Shinnosuke and his talking belt, her eyes trained on the latter. She doesn't look upset - though it'd probably be pretty easy to view it as such - but she sure does look very intent. Sounds like it too. "If you /do/ know something, trying to hold it back isn't going to do anyone any favors, is it? Whoever this guy is, 'Chiroptera' sounded a lot different when he mentioned him. Shaking, and stuttering...he was hurt badly by whatever happened.

What X says only makes her stare all the more laser-pointed, at least until she looks up towards the Reploid after a moment, only to glance off to the side again. "...Because what happened between you and her, right?" She doesn't know much about Xion, only that she was the one who she heard mention Kamen Riders before. Something to look into later.

Utsuho's question gets her looking like she doesn't know what to say, taking a hand out to rub at the back of her neck. "...I'm starting to think justice is also something everyone has a different idea of," she mutters, referencing what she said a moment ago.
Shinnosuke Tomari Shinnosuke turns to X. He's still beat up, but when X seems dejected...the least he can do is try and help him. "If you hadn't fought...who knows what Xion would have done. I barely know her, but I didn't expect her to be like that. She might have assisted Chiroptera, and then, perhaps I'd..." He doesn't finish it.

Mr. Belt is confronted. With a sigh and words like a lockbox - that prying isn't going to get any further - he says one thing. "Banno is dead. He can haunt, and perhaps still hurt, but he can't do anything we need to worry about now."

"No, the fact is, we cannot allow the Roidmude to continue with their plans." Mr. Belt says, firmly. "There was only one-hundred and eight of them."

Shinnosuke responds to Hibiki's last statement, as well as Utsuho's. "I'm going to get stronger, formulate a plan to stop Chiroptera. Justice...is different, for everyone, but a lot of people have the same justice. It's that justice I want to fight with. To protect and serve, as an officer of the law."

Finally, Shinnosuke has a question for the whole group. "We need to think tactics. That soundwave, those wings...is there any way we could get past them? I don't want to assume I'll have you there, but I'd like it if you'd help me stop him."
X X's face crinkles unpleasantly, " ... somewhat, yes."

        "I."

He pauses, before finally admitting with equal parts shame and relief, "I hate it."

His fingers press tightly onto the helmet, cracking it further with the force of his grip. "The heat that rolls through my body, the sensation of my arm gathering and expelling energy, the feeling of someone's frame rattling under the force of my kick ... that part of my 'brain' that tells me exactly what I need to do, to hurt someone 'just' enough to make them stop."

"The surging thump of my body pushing itself harder and further as I fight," like a war drum being beat to an ever increasing tempo, "I hate it and I always have."

Shinnousuke's encouragement only seems to deepen the bother that seemed to pierce deep inside of X, some kind of ambiguous, bitter feeling behind his eyes.

X stares down into his reflection, off of the damaged helmet. It had become even further warped than it had when he'd been staring into the shiny, pristine image reflected to him in the park. Cracked.

"I never wanted to fight. I never wanted to have to hurt anyone ... but any time I've ever laid down my arms, people have been hurt because of it. Every time I've thought it was alright to just .. be, to leave the fighting to someone else ... to let go.."

"If I fight, people tell me it's alright to let go. If I let go, people tell me that I must fight."

His knuckles creak with a very human imperfection as they tremble. He resists the urge to hurl the helmet at something before he stills, breathing in, though not respiring.

" 'Justice' is supposed to be when the right thing is done. There are objective standpoints of good and evil, but ... "

"What is the purpose of this suffering? Why must we kill eachother?"

    "What am I.."
X .. tell me ...! WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR?!

Zero's pain back then was undoubtably stronger than what X felt now, but the loss they both experienced that day was a bitter scab. It felt like he was reminded of it at every corner, every time he had to question himself. Of course, he understood why.

The Great Repliforce War was the first time X had truly understood just how cruel their battle was, the first time since Sigma's rebellion that he hadn't been pushing through every battle with outrage and vengeance.
Hellwarming Trio "Protecting stuff's fine if it's for real." Utsuho crosses her arms over her chest, chuckling confidently once again as she responds to Hibiki. "Then it's just a matter of who's got the stronger fire in them. The person doing the protecting, or the person trying to take something away. These... Uh. Roidmudes? Sounds like they need Kamen Riders to die just as much as Kamen Riders need them to die, so it sounds pretty easy to me."

Speaking as though that's a simple enough matter, Utsuho tilts her head in the other direction steadily as Shinnosuke speaks of his own justice. The answer seems utterly baffling to her, and she's not even sure how to respond until X defines justice his own way. She remains silent for several moments as she tries to process it, the vaguely defined notion still making it hard to really understand just what it all means. To X, to Hibiki, to Shinnosuke, to Chiroptera...

"So... It's an excuse, then?" Utsuho rubs the side of her head, still looking confused about the matter. "If someone hurts you, you can just call it justice when you go after them because it's 'good', and it's not justice if they come after you even if they do it for their own idea of justice. So it sounds like... Does justice only matters if it's the people you care about getting hurt?"

She sounds dissatisfied with that, complete with a frustrated noise punctuated by accidentally dropping her control rod on the floor with a heavy thud. "Guh, this 'justice' thing is a pain in the ass. You don't need to make these kinds of excuses if you're strong. Either you're stronger than Chiri and the Roidmudes all die, or they're stronger than you, and all the Kamen Riders die except for Chiri, the kid, the purple guy, the red guy..."

She looks over at X and Hibiki. "Are you Kamen Riders, too?"
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki lets out a sigh of frustration at Mr. Belt's stubbornness, and she instinctively wants to press him on it - but she understands it's something he's not going to budge on. And if it's something he won't even tell Shinnosuke, then someone like her who's only here by coincidence definitely isn't going to change his mind. "Only one-hundred and eight..." She quietly echoes not only his words, but also something Chiroptera himself mentioned back in their fight.

The subject of plans, at least, gives her something to focus on besides her inner conflict over all of this. Justice...what is her own justice? Or is what she thinks it is justice at all? What Utsuho says oddly makes some sense to her, even if she doesn't say it out loud. Protecting what's important, at least, can't be wrong no matter what you call it. To Shinnosuke, "...I'll help, if I'm able. I don't think anyone back home at Second Division would complain about it; it's the kind of thing they'd jump to lend a hand with themselves if they could." She dips her head a bit, sliding her hand back from behind her neck to look at her palm in thought. "We can break those wings open if we hit them hard enough. I think I can do that. But I don't know about the soundwaves. It's not like I can out-sing them."

    Probably.

X's heavy introspection and very very non-bot struggles pull her away from talking about that further, even though her reaction to such heavy things is a mixture of watching with widened eyes and pursing her lips in thought of what to say. Not for several seconds until after he's finished. "...I don't know why anyone has to suffer. Sorry." It's a very genuine sounding apology. What do you say to someone who's seen a lot more real war than you? She only has her own experiences to go off of. Is that enough? "It probably doesn't have a reason. Things happen, and you have to deal with what comes after. And some people can't do that alone..."

Hibiki trails off on those vague terms, with Utsuho's question getting her attention and then a shake of her head. "No. They transform using belts, I guess." She tugs at the collar of her hoodie, pulling out what her necklace is attached to - a thin, crystalline red pendant seeming to be made up of several fragments. "My Gungnir is a Symphogear." Pause. "And I couldn't be a Kamen Rider without a mask, anyway. It's in the name."
Shinnosuke Tomari "What would you know?!" Shinnosuke replies to Utsuho, after a moment of silence after X's explanation. "You work in Hell, piling bodies into the furnace. Who are you to speak about justice? Strength isn't all that matters...!"

Mr. Belt ahems. "Calm down, Shinnosuke."

"...you're right. I'm sorry. But..." Shinnosuke shakes his head, instead of responding, and turns to X. "X. I'm not going to tell you to fight or not fight, even if I think you've been a big help. I don't want you to feel pressured by me, especially since we've only just met. But...thank you, either way, for being there this time."

"...and thank you, too. We didn't get properly acquainted. Shinnosuke Tomari, Kamen Rider Drive." He says to Hibiki. He knows the others already, so...! "Ranged attacks might be useful for the soundwaves. I have a gun, for that kind of situation."

And then, he makes a sharp noise of pain, as he subconsciously stretches out. "Ow, ow...looks like I need to get some rest, soon."
Hibiki Tachibana     Hibiki takes a brief moment to address Shinnosuke back, opening her mouth briefly, shutting it, then opening it up again. Right, she totally forgot introductions. "I guess we haven't. Uh, Hibiki. Hibiki Tachibana. I work with the Special Disaster Response Team back in my world, so I guess our jobs aren't really that different." She glances down at her Symphogear for a moment., wondering to herself how comparable it actually is to a Kamen Rider' belt despite what she just said. Hm.

And then back up to his sounds of distress. "...Don't push yourself too hard, alright? He was gunning for you harder than anyone else."
Hellwarming Trio "Gungnir? Symphog...?" Utsuho still sounds confused, but at least she's not dismissing Hibiki's explanation outright. "Uh huh.... Why not both, then? Get a mask, do your Gungnir thing, and combine the best of both worlds. Then you can do both."

It all sounds simple enough to her, anyway. If only she actually knew how any of either of those things worked. It seems she's getting a better idea of things, though, as she wrinkles her nose at Shinnosuke's reaction and starts chuckling moments later.

"Nah, you're on the right track there. If you're not as strong, you just need a bigger fire. Someone with all the strength in the world and no energy behind any of it might as well be standing still next to everyone else trying to do anything. Use that, and get stronger that way." Still smirking, she hops onto her feet while approaching Shinnosuke with a light smack with the back of her hand on his shoulder.

"Then, when it's time for your real fight for protecting humans or justice or whatever, there's no excuses about who's stronger, or who's got the bigger fire. You did your best to protect your territory, and they did their best to protect theirs. It's not like anyone can be me with the best of both." She's almost getting it. Maybe.

After having a good laugh, Utsuho hops onto a desk and holds her arms up, one pointed diagonally upwards and the other covering her face while pointed in the same direction. "Sounds like Shin's heard of me already, but just in case! Utsuho Reiuji, strongest hell raven, administrator of the Hell of Blazing Flames."

She stops dabbing finally. "Don't think I'm here just to help you, though. I'm here for the show, the food, and the fights. Should be fun seeing how strong you can get before all this ends, though."
Xion The 'back room' of the Special Cases department has a 'dok dok' pair of raps on the frame, as a shaved-bald operator in dark blue digital fatigues and pants leans into the door.

"Is this a good time?"

Coming fully into frame, the tactically suited man carries into the room, holding out his smartphone, which drops an identification card in near-modern futuristic hovering holography. It declares him as 'Sergeant Ono' of the 'A.I.M.S. Squad. The logo is a rather aggressive metal-bolted skull with a thunderbolt through the top through the right eye, and three chevrons.

"My partner, outside, is confirming the Special AI Law violation that took place, officers. Once we do, I've been informed that the inspectors will be working closely with the Metropolitan Police Special Cases Unit to handle the threat to the people of Tokyo."

He bows, at the waist, and then extends an envelope out to... Tomari.

It's very insistent he give it to Tomari, and not anyone else in the room. Inside, are papers from the Artificial Intelligence Military Service, detailing their jurisdiction over matters pertaining to Humagears as an arm of the military, and then the obvious fistful of documents detailing exactly why the the cops may be needing to cede or swerve for the dudes with skull pins.

And yes they did pick their own logo.
Shinnosuke Tomari As Hibiki tells him to take it easy, Shinnosuke nods. "Yeah, you're right. Can't throw out my back if we're to deal with that again." Utsuho says Some Shit that Shinnosuke isn't quite sure he understood, but before he can say something...

The military arrives.

Sergeant Ono handles Shinnosuke the papers. He makes sure he grabs them before Utsuho can pry, reads over the front-facing papers, carefully, and then puts them away for the Chief to read later.

"Understood, Sergeant. We have the same goal." He says, with a smile, and his eyes closing, due to his wounds. They'd take care of it, with the police as support, right?

"Now tell me, Tomari Shinnosuke: How does it feel with someone else behind the wheel?"

His eyes open back up, with a frown on his face. If asked, he says it's just the pain. But...he's still unsettled, even so. Can he really...let these people come in and handle it?
X X blinks slightly, but manages to give Shinnousuke a smile -- he really was a nice person, wasn't he?

" ... thank you."

Xion had said things that once he'd had time to mull them over, had cut deeply. Was he a murderer? Was he being selfish and killing his own kind just because?

Of course, she was a child, but children were often the most honest. That, after his conversation with the Roidmude, Heart, left him with a self-doubt more severe than anything he'd faced in a long time. But the only one who could decide was him.

Doctor Light had give him his weapon, and a burden upon his shoulders, an expectation. Yet he'd also been gifted with the free will to do as he pleased .. what was it he should do?

And if he hadn't of fought today .. it's impossible to say how things would have ended. It was frustrating.

His rumination is broken by the sudden dabbing, "What are you doing..?"

For some reason, he felt like he should be affronted by it, but instead she only receives a disappointed frown. "You're scuffing up their desks. .. I'm X, by the way."

Though, he supposed she was the only one in the room who hadn't met him at a prior occassion. Whatever else he had to say was further put on hold with the appearance of what seemed to be some kind of soldier; a man with a skull worn proudly as his symbol.

His frown turns to a more serious face as Shinnosuke receives the envelope, almost ready to step forward before he hesitates. It was hard to resist the urge to insert himself in the situation, not because it was something he desired, but something he felt obligated to do. Like the compulsion to go to work, to do chores, to meet engagements; it was the same sort of feeling. Like an anchor pulling you in.

     .... but.

This wasn't X's world. He didn't always have to be the one to take care of the problem. It was alright to pass that torch on to someone else ... that's what everyone's been saying lately, isn't it?

Tentatively, X steps back and allows Tomari to decide.
Hibiki Tachibana     "I'm pretty sure it takes more than just any mask--to--" Hibiki trails off as Utsuho actually just says that, going all the way to just /staring/ at her as she gets up on a desk and dabs with a combination of a squint and open mouthed awe. She silently puts her pendant back away, but keeps her hand on it a moment longer. After a steadying breath back in, "Utsuho, then. One thing I can agree with is getting stronger. To stop anyone, or protect anything important to you..." She sounds both slightly sad but also determined on that end, nodding to Utsuho. "Next time, he won't win. I wonder if he'll attack somewhere else with innocent people again..." She can only hope not, judging from something Chiroptera said near the end of the battle.

And then the military comes in. Despite working for a branch of the government herself, she has yet to actually have much experience with...well, this kind ofpresence. She watches from the sidelines as the letters are read over, mulling to herself. "Special AI Law violation..." She's not entirely sure what that's all about, because it's certainly not a thing in her Tokyo. But they're stepping in to help deal with the Roidmude issue? ...She's not sure what to make of that.

Hibiki doesn't question Shinnosuke about the look on his face, but simply wears a small frown herself.
Xion Ono looks between Tomari and X. In the absolute deadpan of a man who had moved the base of his palm to rest against his sidearm without looking or moving any other major muscle group.

"Officer? Is your Humagear functioning properly? I can have our tecnician look at it." He offers. Hibiki asks the obvious question.

"As an arm of the military, AIMS has complete jurisdiction on all matters pertaining to violations of the Special AI Laws, put in place to ensure that artificial life does not threaten humanity."
Hellwarming Trio An egg appears! Wait. That's a person. Utsuho perks up and frowns all in a manner of seconds as Ono arrives, her energy dying down rather quickly as she settles back into a perch on top of that desk. She perks back up again when he presents PAPERS, then settles down once more when Tomari cuts that off by taking the stuff quickly.

She does, however, stick her tongue out at him.

X's chiding, strangely enough, has Utsuho actually complying and even taking a seat in a chair like a normal person. A normal person with a concrete leg, but a normal person nonetheless. "Fine, fine... Human stuff's way too easy to damage. It's such a hassle, isn't it?"

She groans, then raises an eyebrow with a curious glint in her eyes when Hibiki speaks. "I knew one of you would get it. Heh, I knew I was getting smarter!" She sounds unreasonably produ about that, although the talk of AI laws, jurisdictions, and whatever a Humagear is just gets a glazed-over look from the raven.

This is too many hard concepts, too fast.
Shinnosuke Tomari "He's fine. Doing what he's supposed to do, not a threat." Tomari speaks up, in X's defense. He doesn't correct so that it doesn't make a bigger mess of things. "Thank you for your service. The Chief is out, dealing with...all of this, but I'm sure he'll be happy to comply." What is this bitter taste, saying that? To swerve as soon as someone else comes in. Can he really do that?

He doesn't know if he can. But for now, Shinnosuke Tomari will comply. He can't just say no to the military.
X X's eyes narrow, ever so slightly, wrinkles pressing his nose as his mouth forms a tight, and thin line.

As the Officer had already spoken for him, X decided not to contradict Tomari for the sake of letting whatever was happening pass by nice and smooth.
Xion Ono nods slowly. "Alright then. Thanks for your time, Officer. ..."

There's a moment where the operator looks at everyone in the room as if evaluating the correct tone for 'who to address'.

Hibiki gets a nod. "Ma'am."
