Reyes     Reyes has chosen one of the larger training ranges for this test, where one can fly virtually without limits in a simulated enviromnment. Since it's Warfarin who volunteered, he made a gamble as to her preferences and chose a grassy meadow environment, splendidly illuminated by a full moon and starry night sky. Vampires are typically nocturnal, after all.

He's not too far from the entrance - which has been integrated into the biggest tree in sight. Currently wearing a getup that looks like something a World War 2 era bomber pilot might wear, he's got an extra pair of flight goggles in one hand, and a small blue-and-gold backpack-like apparatus with obvious straps in the other...
Warfarin     The curiosity of the timing for this was peculiar, the black-dressed vampire girl making her way to the training range, a place she's not too familiar with... the Medic moves to crack her neck just a bit as she explores. The night time, the grassy meadow, the illuminated full moon and night. She chuckles at the minor absurdity of this, but considering the ravages on her own world...

"Well, usually we just have drones to handle any sort of flight capability, Reyes." she calls out to the... oddly dressed guy. "So, what do you need me to do?"
Reyes     Reyes looks Warfarin's way nearly the moment she steps in. He ddoesn't seem so shocked this time, but he does cast a smile her way, and keeps wearing it as she approaches. He hoists the weird back-pack-like thing and goggles. "Basically, just put these on, and, if everything's working right... I shouldn't NEED to say much more.

Should Warfarin do as instructed... once she has slipped the backpack on and made any real motion to fit the straps, something odd happens. The straps and pack will subtly resize to fit her comfortably. The goggles, similarly, will shift while being put on to be perfectly snug and suited for her eyes. And once both are in place...

Well, that's when things might get a little eerie. Information gently flows into the wearer's mind. Information about this machine's available power (currently at full) and recharge rate, its diagnostics (currently all systems green), current altitude, compass, pitch, multiversal coordinates, wind and weather conditions, and... something else. Something that's much like having another limb to command. Warfarin will, if all goes well, gain an instinctual feel for how to WILL this strange contraption to activate and command it like a part of her body.

As for what it does? Upon activation, slots on both sides of the pack open up and gadgetry extends in both directions, unfolding into an array of delicate clockwork that swiftly takes the shape of wings and fills to the brim with glowing blue energies, just solid enough to resemble angelic wings. And UP she will go... in whatever direction she wants.
Warfarin     Warfarin hmms a bit. "So, the goggles, they do something?" she questions, moving to put the weird looking goggles on and moving to slip the odd backpack on, with a bit of a tug on the straps... the straps start to tighten up. Her eyes widen some as the backpack becomes more comfortable, turning her head to look at it curiously. "Well." and then something gets into her vision...

Odd, green text is superimposed on her vision and she looks around, the text coming along with her. "What in the? What's all this text?" she hrms then there's some new instructions, something that just... floods her mind somehow. "Okay, so that's how that works?" and with that, she takes off running, then a jump... and suddenly, those wings flare out and up she goes! "W..what in ... I'm ... flying?!"
Reyes     "Yeah, eye protection. Trust me, you don't want to be going a hundred klicks an hour and encounter a bit of dirt or bugs or something. Heck, just the wind will make you wanna shut your eyes..." Reyes kinda grins through the explanation. It's just one of those mundane things nobody thinks about, after all. He reaches up to tap the goggles resting against his own forehead, currently not in use but always ready.

But then... Warfarin does exactly as he'd hoped, without apparently needing to think about it too much. The young man's face glows with something like delight, breath caught in his throat... and then lets out a VERY enthusiastic shout! "YESSSSSSS!! That's exactly what I was hoping for!" A few breaths later he shouts, "So you're seeing it in text, huh? Must be from working with all the medical charts. That's all the information useful for flying around! Weather, speed, altitude, location and so on..."
Warfarin     Even though the wings don't flap, Warfarin's soaring. Not too fast and not too high, just in case something fails as all new technology can do... but for now, she's looking at all the text and trying to make sense of it. At least it tells her which way is up and down and the cardinal directions so she's got that going for her at least! She does hover in the sky for a bit, taking a look at the moon with a studious gaze, and probably from Reyes point of view, it might look like she's superimposed on it, those wings and the vampire donned in moonshadow.

She gives a brief nod, before lowering herself down towards Reyes. "Well, it didn't explode, nor did it crash me into the ground... at least from the brief test there but it does seem functional. Though it's concerning how it gave me information on how to use it... when I never even used something like this before." another pause, "Along with all the interesting words from the goggles. No one, that I'm aware of, can fly like this back in Rhodes Island... I guess it's a common thing everywhere else though?":
Reyes     Reyes has no trouble following her flight, keeping his eyes locked on her at all times. He did, after all, promise a failsafe in case anything goes wrong... but he's confident it won't. Absolutely confident.

He blinks in bewilderment when she just floats right back down though. "... It's.. okay to enjoy things, you know? Are you liking it? Is it fun? Easy to use...?"

Ah, she's concerned about that. He makes an awkward face and scratches the back of his head. "That, huh... that's.... it's actually kinda the point. If gear like this takes too long to learn how to use, it's not much good handing it out right before a mission. So, was working on ways to make it so you just pick it up and know what to do with it. ... Is there some way I could smooth that out, you think...?"
Warfarin     "Oh." a beat is given as Reyes questions her. "Ah... yes, I did like it, felt easy to use and was at least quick to learn. I would give it a seven out of ten on the enjoyment scale, only because I have never flown before." she nods, "Unfortunately, I don't have the same knowledge you or your world does on making this... 'easier' or smoothing it out so." she takes a look at the backpack and taps the goggles, "Could probably make this lighter and this a bit more form fitting."

There's a fanged smile from the vampire, "I think I may go back for another round of testing... if you do not mind. Perhaps we can find out if there are any issues with it from prolonged use, both psychological and physiological, what do you think?" another pause and she hmms, "Does this have any effect on those in your world? Am I the first off world person you've tried this with? Anything else I might need to know on what it's feeding into me?"
Reyes     Reyes returns the smile, although he's not really used to being smiled at like this, she might be able to tell! "Yeah, sure, the battery should last an hour or two unless you're constantly pushing it. It'll warn you when it's getting low and a safety device should kick in to drift you safely to the ground if you ignore it... won't have much control where you land..." Realizing he's ranting, the young man rubs his cheeks, then answers those questions.

"It... /should/ work for just about anyone who's humanoid and has... I'm not sure how to politely phrase it, a 'human-like' mind. Not sure what'll happen if a robot tries to use it. ... but it's important to have someone who doesn't use any sort of magic or psionic abilities try it, since the point is to not need those to use it..."
Warfarin     There's a nod from the vampire medic, "I see. Well, I'll make sure to land before the time expires." there's a pause once more, "Perhaps I can keep this or shall I return it to you once we're done with testing?" though she doesn't honestly wait for an answer, "Well, you picked the best person to try it out, a completely normal girl."

She goes back to run off and take flight once more, there's an odd joy on her face, the vampire taking flight in the night sky and lit by the moon, it's almost an ethereal look.
