Stanley Padgett     Stanley Padgett is not present in this scene. Stanley Padgett is over at the Happycade, ruining kids in Tekken.

That said, there's a surprising amount of extraversal interest in Silver Springs today, as some antic about Breakfast seem to have escalated for members of the Watch and the Paladins.

Remee, Ishirou, what exactly are your approaches today?
Remee Halcyon REMEE: Walk in like you own the place

"Hi there!" she says, making her way straight in through the front door, and heading to the first office-like office she can find. She not packing her rifle this time, at least.

"I'm afraid there's been a terrible mix-up, and I need to talk to whoever's in charge - the principal, I guess? Or maybe the superintendent?"

"It's crucial that I talk to them before it's too late."
Ishirou Ishirou was shaken out of his funk by the fact that something he'd done to help Stanley, was not as good as he thought. Or even remotely what it should be. This made him /mad/. Mad enough to forget being a sad boi, and now into ACTION ISHIROU.

The first thing he did was use his knowledge of the laws and customs of Stanley's home world to get contact in with his country's government, and a liaison from the Commonwealth. Working things out, he gets an official connection to the local school district. From there he just tries to secure permission from the superintendent.

If at any stage someone tries to block him, he threatens to instead give the story over to the Media, to run all across the Multiverse.

With that permission secured, he'd actually tour the school, looking at lesson plans and food. What they do for fun and relaxation. To clubs and structure. Then, after getting all of that information, he will come up with a new plan altogether. This plan, he will bring to the Principle...which would be where he's heading now.
Stanley Padgett     There's a LOT of Theory on that one, Ishirou. The Charter School concept running at Silver Springs is a "newer" model of school by which the school district operates a different style of school, or several styles of school, alongside the traditional public school system in the district. Silver Springs is one of those hybrid public/private outfits that still is beholden to the district for metrics and testing.

On paper, for years, it's been one of the state's top-performing schools, with high graduation rates and college placement exams. There's been plenty of Techbro money spent on Silver Springs, and to an extant much of it works its way over into the public side of things where Stanley is.

That is to say, it's not a bad school. But Ishirou wants some improvements. Got it.

Remee is coming to ask for the manager. Got it.

That's going to put both of you in the main office at roughly the same time. After multiple Incidents, security is tighter here at the school. Once school is underway, the only way in or out for visitors is through the head office, where everyone gets their picture taken for a quickly printed ID sticker.

Multiple adults are milling about here today though, what with the ruckus from earlier today. Two plainclothes LPD officers are here, chatting with a pair of people in fancy corporate fleece pullovers, both with earbuds in their ears. One tall fellow with some obvious chrome work, and a leaner lady with a fancier lanyard. They both are from that 'Solutiony' outfit.
Remee Halcyon Oh. A line.

And an Ishirou.

Remee was honestly expecting to just walk in and speak to people in charge immediately. She'd even done some special preparations for it. Well, no obvious solution comes to mind immediately, so let's kill a little time.

"Hello!" Remee goes over to the Solutiony people, pushing her way into the conversation without any hesitation. "Hi, I'd heard some about some of the great work you'd done! I was wondering if I could get a business card?"
Ishirou Ishirou already has a list of improvements. It's just not for this school, with it he's looking to see if he can't implement this across the board. It's a combination of curriculum improvements, training for teachers, and a recommendation to stop preparing for state tests, and instead focus on actual education.

Also, more education to prepare people for getting out into the real world.

Nutritionally, the food WAS solid. But it was very lacking in presentation. He instead provides alternatives to this, which on paper look more expensive. In fact, this whole thing looks very expensive.

In reality, Ishirou has also put together how to budget these changes, and in fact, provide a surplus. The surplus is then suggested to actually go into teacher pay improvements.

However, now he is waiting for a meeting. He waves at Remee, but lets her engage in the private outfit. Though, he does try to use biohacking on the down low to try and get their surface thoughts.
Stanley Padgett     As Remee approaches, one of the attendance ladies starts to protest, which gets the attention of the four chatting with each other. The taller Solutiony guy just lowers a hand a bit, which seems to put the officers at ease.
The lean lady smiles a shatteringly brilliant smile, contrasting against dark skin. She's got intricate face tattoos, and as she turns, it's clear she's got a pair of pointed elf ears. "It's alright officers, I'm sure we're just about to meet some of the people of the day." She bows a little. "I figured you might, actually, so we've got some information we're looking to share, aye." The name on her tag is "Jennifer Smith".

The big guy just sort of keeps eyes on the whole goings-on, after calming the crowd with a simple gesture. He is Anglo-american, there's some very obvious biomechanical work done on his beefy frame, and one of his eyes has clearly got a digital feed running across it.

Ishirou? Biomonitoring will pick up these are clearly out-of-towners, just your eyes will do that, but more than that is difficult. The good news about that is that the lady is not being particularly quiet about it. The moment those first scans prickle against herself and her Meat Stack, one of her eyes twinkles a little bit, and some Very Fancy Math moves into place to block the scans.
Ishirou Ishirou's eyes narrow at that.

His sensors turn onto the woman now. Blocking his ability to read her mind is one thing. Scanning is different. He looks to analyze what just happened, and what defenses are here that managed to block his mental intrusion.

Are they multiversals, or are they locals with personas? He also looks for magical traces and what not, trying to get the full picture.
Remee Halcyon "Remee." Best not to drop the Halcyon name yet, in case these also-out-of-towners recognize it. The Family has its paws in a lot of pies, and it might open doors but it might also close them.

"I moved into Lampport earlier," she says, which is actually true - 'moved in' defined as put the first month's rent down on a house here in case it would give her some advantage in dealing with the administration, and 'earlier' defined as 'five minutes before heading here'. "And was obviously a bit concerned about things I've heard and seen." Also true.

"So..." She says. "What sort of information were you looking to share?"
Stanley Padgett     The magic is brash and obvious, structured, and well designed and feels very... corporate. Whoever Miss Smith is here is a classically trained Wizard or Mage of some sort, and Ishirou has yet to encounter someone like that here yet.

The woman still has her eyes on Ishirou, and she reaches into her vest pocket to pull out a receipt and an invoice. It's Remee's order she had delivered to the school. "We'll get into this in just a second, but..." She addresses Ishirou. "Darling, isn't it a little rude to try and look at a lady's underthings without even introducing yourself first? I can keep up the magic but I'd prefer to at least have a discussion."
Meat Stack's ear twitches at the mention of the magic being used, and he takes a measured step forward toward Remee and Ishirou.
Miss Smith speaks again. "We're here to try and mitigate incidents at the school, so please just let's all take a breath and not get our nastys out in the attendance office, shall we?"
Ishirou Ishirou's eyes narrow...that's not right. Something about this rubs him the wrong way, because of how it's structured...and how corporate it is...

"About as rude as to accuse someone of something in public without proof," Ishirou says, back, turning his head towards her. "However, it's not something I am doing specifically to you, I was formerly an Android who specialized in observation and information gathering."

"It's a bad habit, to stay quiet and look at everything around me, so I apologize!" Then after a moment, "Ishirou is my name. No, I don't have a last one. So it seems we're both here for the same reason."

"Sadly, in my improved budget proposal, you're not included...you charge too much. The state should be handling its own security matters, not a private company."
Remee Halcyon Ahh. So *that's* why they're here.

"Well, this does make things easier, then - when you go in to tell the people in charge here about how they should allow food deliveries in, I'd be glad to back you up," says Remee, nodding.

She glances back at Ishirou when the announcement of magic being used is made, but doesn't comment.

"Ah ha, well, budgets can be stretchy things, I'm sure," says Remee, with the full confidence who's never had to work within a budget. "I'm more concerned about the food here, and Stanley's suspension."
Stanley Padgett     The lady clicks her teeth a bit. "Ahhhh, I'm not here in charge of anything like that Miss Remee. I'm just here, as I think your friend Mr. Ishirou might have figured out, to handle extraversals and Elites." Miss Smith smiles again, that sharky smile. "And I have to agree, that there ought to be some sort of budget in the school for this sort of thing, but... well." She cocks her head. "Lampport is new to the Multiverse, and a lot has been happening in a short time, hasn't it? A lot of it clustered around this school."

The name Stanley is used, and Smith frowns. "Stanley?"
Meat Stack rumbles. "The suspected Elite."
"Oh, right, the one you sent your gift to, Miss Remee, who got in trouble for... well. That's not for me to say, but the school here says he's in trouble, so he's in trouble."

Both hands come up from Miss Smith. "And no, complaining to me won't help on that one. We're just here trying to make sure that more Incidents don't take place. At the school."
Ishirou "And if he is an elite?" Ishirou asks.

"Nevermind that if he was an elite, why would he live in such terrible conditions, with a family member who doesn't care about him? Do you believe that no teenage boy, who would suddenly get power, not immediately use it for his own selfish game as he learns a lesson about how and when to use it?"

"Like, I might be four, but I'm not stupid enough to put two and two together. Anyway, I'm here to see the principal, not you two. So, in reality, what are you two doing here?"

"You're too magical to not be an elite, and there is no way this school could afford your services," he says, staring at her. "Besides, really...multiversals deciding to send food to a student. Really? It just seems like you were waiting for an event to happen so you could stroke their fears and justify your fee."
Remee Halcyon ... Suspected elite?

Remee doesn't know about that. Is it a secret? Should it stay a secret? Would she be outing Stanley for something?

Best to feign ignorance. "Suspected elite? I don't know about that..." she says. Wait, then if he wasn't an elite, why would she send him food? She needs a new cover story.

"... I mean, I'm an elite," she says, because even a few minutes of research on 'Remee Halcyon' would pull some stuff up. "But - he's just my boyfriend, if he's elite then he's got some hidden depths I don't know about," she adds. "I mean, can you tell me you've never ordered food for your boyfriend?" she asks Miss Smith. "It seems like a silly thing for him to get into trouble for, something I did, which wasn't even wrong to begin with."
Stanley Padgett     Somewhere in the back of the attendance office, a student volunteer's ear twitches, and fingers start dancing on groupchats.

"Miss Remee, it wasn't that you sent your... boyfriend, Mr. Padgett, food. It's that your courier was turned away, and instead a different Elite teleported past the school's safety procedures, directly into the school, manifested in his tech ed class, and handed off a box of 30 baked goods and breakfast foods." This, surprisingly, is not Miss Smith talking, but the Unlabeled Meat Stack. His voice is deep and laconic and Jamaican. "Do you understand the amount of consternation that generated? Not to mention the disruption to classes? One student has died, multiple more have been injured, and the less is said about Dr. Hunnicutt the better. And your /boyfriend/ keeps turning up in all of those cases."

Oh dear. Smith looks to Ishirou. "This isn't about pulling a 'gotcha' on the school, Mr. Ishirou. Families are concerned, and parents are concerned. Solutiony was formed alongside the expansion of Lampport, as it was clear that the city itself was not capable of handling these sorts of things." One of the LPD detectives frowns, and Smith holds up a hand to him too. "No recently Unified world is ready to deal with hooligans hooting into your space to cause trouble. This isn't a blame on anyone, it's working to fix issues. Growing pains. Until a world can field its own defenses, we can help them handle problems."
Charlotte Newman Elsewhere in Silver Springs...

It is a time between periods, with students milling about on the break or on their way to their next class. A certain blonde who has not been suspended wiggles her fingers in a wave as she separates from the pod of Other Popular Girls that she doesn't quite fit in with but hangs out with anyway.

Just a few steps away, an Incident occurs. Phones buzz and chime down the hallway like a tidal wave of noise, with assorted students pulling their devices out to check notifications. Charlotte is no different, curious as to what's been posted.

--

She's a minute late to class, barely suppressing laughter and apologizing to the teacher as she takes her seat.
Ishirou Ishirou looks back at the both of them, letting them get their side of the story out. "Mmm. That sounds reasonable.." he starts to say...

"However, if that were true...that it was all for helping new places adjust into the Multiverse..." another deliberate pause. "Then why aren't you part of the Commonwealth?"

"You also avoided my question about the 'if' he was. Also, reguardless, while odd, it is not statistically improbable that he was involved in both of these cases by sheer happenstance. If I remember correctly, the first involved the school, the second involved a student, and the third happened while school was in session, and he happened to be there."

"With these factors, I'd say it'd be a statistical outlier if he wasn't somehow involved with all of these things. Also.." he looks to the plainclothed cop, "The Paladins, The Watch, and The Concord were all involved in these, and all of us can confirm that Stanley is not in any of our factions."

"He's, at best, been helpful to elites who have been here to solve the issues. It is not far off the mark for them to want to help him in ways they see fit. Never mind that Kukuru isn't easily stopped by anyone."
Remee Halcyon "Ah ha, is that the problem?" Remee maybe still doesn't quite 'get' what the problem is. "That is... that was, a member of the Concord who slipped on through on breakfast delivery," she says, brightly. "Traditionally, the Concord's position has been that they are allowed to do what they want, because of who they are, and if nobody even so much as got injured as a result of Kukuru's delivery service they likely won't even return your calls..."

"... I feel like, I should be the one concerned here, if Stanley keeps getting pulled into these dangerous, life-threatening incidents as you say." She purses her lips, and dials up the Karen Factor a bit. "Does the school discriminate based on bad luck, I wonder? Or for dating outside of world boundaries? It feels like there could be a case for either one, here."
Stanley Padgett     Miss Smith seems to disregard all the rest of the things that were just said around something that interests her greatly. "...That's three incidents, Mr. Ishirou. Are you telling me that the Watch, the Paladins and the Concord all collectively forgot to mention that there have been /three/ incidents at the school?"

Those eyes lock on Remee as well. "Dr. Hunnicutt and the incident last week with the dead student connected with the Biohazard Killer. Are you telling me there was a third incident we don't know about?" She's already got a tablet out and is fixing notes.

Meat Stack is impassive, but the cops are taking attention too now.
Ishirou "I'll only answer if you stop ignoring my questions," Ishirou says, looking toward Smith. "Though perhaps because of how it was related temporally, is why you don't remember it. It was also only tangentially related to the school."
Remee Halcyon "... Mmm? I'm aware of two incidents, personally," says Remee. This is true - just that she's aware of a different two than the people here are. "The Watch, as I'm *sure* you're aware as security professionals, is a decentralized network of agents. Thinking of us the same way you would the Paladins or the Concord is... an interesting way of thinking of things, I'm sure," she settles on saying.

"We appreciate mutual cooperation, but - assuming there is some third incident, the school isn't entitled to our intel any more than we're entitled to access to the school - which, clearly, we don't have."

"And in any case, we're more interested in stopping the incidents and keeping people safe than giving the school whatever it is they're wanting for their incident paperwork - if the school wants to negotiate for more than we're giving them, they're welcome to actually negotiate," she says, brightly.
Stanley Padgett     Smith arches a tattooed brow, one elf ear tip shifting. "At so why Lampport and this world hasn't decided to join the Commonwealth is outside my reckoning." She spreads out her hands. "They have not, so I am here to offer my services as a school security officer, to ensure the safety of all these students and staff and faculty. Dimitri here is doing the same."
The clearly Jamaican man murmurs 'dah'.

Bells start to ring in the school, and now to attendance staff are moving around the crowd. Someone wanders out of the back, someone in a tweed jacket and a 'FIghtin' Flamingos' cap. "Alright, all of you, out. Students will be leaving. We need the space. Come back tomorrow if you must."

This must be the Principal, but he doesn't seem in any mood to speak to anyone here, as he settles in at a desk. "Alright, everyone, this is Principal Ammon. We've got some new officers on the security crew today, so please just treat them like any other member of the staff. Respect and discipline and courtesy. Orderly manner out of the school today. See you all tomorrow. Go Flamingos!"
Stanley Padgett     The words of the Princpal echo into the school, along with the buzzer for End of Day. Smith and 'Dimitiri' shift, and Smith smiles at the Elites. "I suppose we'll be seeing you around then?"
A sly wink, before she turns and heads out to her post in the lobby. "Be nice to your boyfriend, Miss Remee, he's going to need all the help he can get~"
Ishirou Purposely misunderstanding one question, and not answering another. Oddly, Ishirou doesn't feel particularly talkative. Standing up, Ishirou offers the principal a data pad. "Well, as you're not seeing me today, then read that before our meeting. I have the permission of the superintendent."

It's the work and analysis he already figured out. Turning away, he doesn't seem very friendly back to the two.
