John Doe When nobody notices you, the world doesn't care what you do for the most part.

Right now, John is sleeping on the edge of a roof near downtown.  Well, not sleeping so much as napping.  His hat is placed on his face as he takes a doze in the afternoon sun.  Despite the temperature, he's found a nice radiator to be near to keep himself warm.

He's not going through much effort to keep himself hidden, but his curse does make it hard to track him without concentrated effort.
Remee Halcyon <X-Watch-Chatter> 4 Remee Halcyon says, "Hey Petra... I've got some errands I need to run solo. There's some cash for dinner on the counter if I'm not back in time, alright?"

Those errands go directly to Lampport, and from there to sniffing things out. Remee briefly employs a hired handler to hold her leash so she can track in wolf mode without anyone giving the oversized 'dog' more than just a second glance (having a human bent over with her nose pressed against the sidewalk might get third or fourth glances, so this is incrementally better).

John being near a radiator might help with carrying his scent. Or possibly Remee has a lot of legwork to put in whether or not that helps, but she's motivated to find John and she has her schedule clear.

Getting up onto the roof, once she locates the right roof, takes a bit - and a rented ladder couriered over since Remee isn't too much of a climber on her own, which causes further delays.

Eventually, though, if John hasn't woken up by then, she's standing above him (in human mode) on the roof, nudging him with her foot.

"Hey. Get up. You need to make some apologies."
John Doe If John's heard the noise with the ladder or anything else up to this point he's not bothered to get up.  To be fair, it's not like he thinks anyone can actually see him.  He just figures someone is doing work up here and goes back to sleep.  John continues to rest until a foot nudges him.  Slightly surprised, his hand moves to his hat to pull it up to see Remee standing over him.

He gives her a stare, before setting the hat back down on his face.  "I ain't got to do shit.  Kind of awful people doesn't say they're sorry, especially crying baby girls who want to stick their noses in places where they don't belong.  To girls who want to hide behind their weaknesses and spread them onto others.."

"To people who are glad their mothers don't remember them.  So if that's it, fuck off I'm taking a nap."
Remee Halcyon "Ah ha, that's... quite a statement!" says Remee, smiling. The smile is a little bit forced.

"Well, okay! So here's the thing, you understand. I wasn't really asking if you wanted to make some apologies. I totally get that you don't. Otherwise I would have just used radio or something, if I really wanted to talk this out."

"But I figured I'd just, you know, be polite, even if only a little bit. You know, a lot of my friends were suggesting stuff like 'knock some sense into him' or 'beat the stupid out of him' and you know! I don't really agree with them. I don't want to go beat the stupid out of you."

Remee's smile down at him grows more genuine and less forced, and subtly she starts lifting one foot.

"Because, you know, doing something like that? Would be doing you a favor. And I really just want to beat you up for my own sake."

And with that, her foot swings over and comes down, trying to stomp down on John's midsection via her hunting boot with the thick, pointy all-terrain treads on it.
John Doe The foot comes down, spikes, and everything comes crashing into John's chest.  Coughing as he rolls on his side as blood comes up through his mouth and he tries to recover from the vicious kick to his stomach as he braces himself on the ledge of the building.  He spits up a bit more blood before jumping to his feet.

Rubbing the back of his hand across his lips he flings whatever was left, and stares up at Remee.  "Sounds like you just wanna impress another girl to me," John says, with a bit of vitriol behind the words.  His hat goes back on his head and he flexes a hand.  "Sure you know what, I was feelin' a bit pissed off anyway.  I wonder how she'll react to me sending your face back to her beaten against the ground."

"Stan and Char's friend aside, you chose to see me like the rest of them do..." he says, with a forced grin.  "MAN IN THE IRON MASK, COME FORTH!" he says, as the chained persona appears behind him.  Without care to the rooftop around him, chains whip out in every direction, aiming to try and smash Remee into the ground.

Really, he was just trying to buy himself some space.  That hurt him more than he had admitted.
Remee Halcyon The chains latch onto Remee, who looks startled. She had been hanging with the Lampport crew before this, and got some pointers from the rest of the Watch the night before, so this wasn't totally unforseen, but there's a stark difference when it's up in one's face and across the battlefield instead of alongside it. The chains knock her face down to the roof, though she seems to have handled the impact fairly well.

"Ah ha... you want to know something funny?"

She starts getting up, carefully, watching for the next attack.

"The whole... doing this to impress another girl comment? Maybe! Maybe you're right. You know?"

"Before all this happened, last night, it felt a lot like I was just sort of... not fitting in with the Watch. I mean I was part of the team, sure! But it was like I was on the outside, the outskirts, just kinda skittering around the surface. But then you come along, you say just a couple boneheaded things..."

She gets up straight. And then - straighter? Taller than she was???

"... And I start doing a few things about it, and suddenly - it's like a light switch flipped! I'm in. I have offers lined up and people saying I'm kind and nice. It's something I was worried about - something I wasn't sure I could really get done what I need to get done without."

She's growing more - and changing. Fur's coming out. Claws are coming out. Her face is changing to something that has more teeth - though she remains coherently talking throughout. "So I hope for your sake you're *really* pissed off, to match how I'm feeling, because I?"

A massive werewolf arm raises, and swings down at him, to knock him down to the ground once more.

"Am god damn ecstatic."
John Doe John moves to defend, bracing himself against Remee's onslaught.  If this was against any other kid.  Any other /full-grown adult/ she would have easily torn them in half.  John instead flies to hit the ground and breaks through part of the roof to hit the ground several stories beneath.  He takes a moment to get up out of the rubble and stands up.  His face hurts from that, he's sure something got dislocated.  In fact, he has to bash his arm against the side of the building to put something back into place.

"No, I'm not," John says, miserably.  Flexing his arm and checking to see if he could fight with it.  "I'm not at all into this, or into you, or really care about you at all," he says, cracking his neck.  He tosses his coat and hat off, letting them hit the ground behind him.  "But it's good to see that all you needed was an excuse..."

He says and kneels down, before jumping up several stories right toward Remee and using his fists to strike her across the face.  He swings up and over her before aiming to plant those feet right down across her back and attempt to drive her down right back into the ground.  He's bleeding, hurt, but he's somehow still fighting despite the hell of a force she just put him through.

"Then remember that feeling.  Hold it deep inside you, because that's all I could really ever ask for! Hehe..." he says laughing a bit and groans.  "Man, those laughs are really hard to pull off, whatever.  I'll just stick to breaking your ribs."
Remee Halcyon Remee, who was going to peer down and see where John had went, gets punched directly in the face, followed by being stomped on the back. She staggers, and there's blood - but she remains standing.

"You can't pull it off - I mean, what *are* you trying to pull off anyway!"

She stands back up straight. "You're not..."

She tries to reach around behind her and grab him by the leg, arm, or whatever else she can get a hold of. "That good at breaking my ribs, either!"

And with that, assuming she can get a grip, she goes to slam him against the roof several times.

"Are you just... making this up as you go along? Do you even have a plan for what you want and how you want to get it?"
John Doe The teenager is used as a bludgeoning device, and for the most part, the roof looks like it has the worst end of the altercation than John himself.  It's not that she didn't /do/ anything, it's just that he's tough as nails and the roof appears to be a crappy American-made roof.  John repeatedly kicks her hand to break free before flipping out of her grip and onto the rooftop itself.  Bracing he brings forth the Persona again.

The chains fly everywhere, starting to form a prison around the two of them.  However, in the short term, John's in her face again, aiming to headbutt her repeatedly, before flipping off and slamming both feet into the underside of her jaw.

"There is a difference between the two of us.  You can exist, I can't.  In order to exist I have to be what others can see.  So you all wanted a villain..."

"I hope it's everything you wanted."
Remee Halcyon Remee takes more hits - from the headbutts, from the kicks to her jaw and her hands, likely from the chains as well.

John can break the skin and draw blood, inflict unseeable damage to the muscles and bone underneath, and make Remee's limbs bend in ways they probably should not bend. None of it is enough to drop her again. It seems like barely any of it is enough to make her flinch.

"Ah... well! You know. That is... it sounds like you are making this all out to be my fault, you know?"

"Not this fight - this whole thing, like you're being a jerk just because I needed you to be a jerk, or Hibiki or Petra needed you to be a jerk? Like our lives are enriched because you're threatening to drop in on Petra when she least expects it and do stuff to her, you know?"

As the attacks continue, she goes for her gear bag. "I was! A jerk. A rich asshole, you know? I don't like to talk about it much, but I don't go 'Well the world needed rich assholes', instead I'm out here trying to take responsibility for what I did, and what I let happen as well."

Both oversized hands withdraw from the gear bag - carrying two fistfuls of pointy darts. The precoated tips glisten with tranquilizer, though the liquid looks to be not so much coated as slathered on them.

"So stop blaming your curse, and for once in your life take your medicine!"

She tries to just simply stab John with as many of the darts as she can.
John Doe Darts stab into John's chest, drawing blood and pumping the tranquilizer through his system.  Before he could recover, the blood pumped through his system, and with it the poison which forces him to lose focus.  The Persona fades and John drops to a knee.  His head spun from the dosage, eyes blurred and unfocused.

"Oh no, just the reverse.  Though I don't expect you to get it.  You get to exist.  You don't have to fight to ensure you wake up tomorrow, or that you exist tomorrow.  It's something you get to take for granted," he says, wiping some of the blood from his mouth.

"Welp, time to escape.  Hope this wins you some pitty kisses.  Later..." he says, jumping off the side of the roof and ducking into a side alley.  Following him is pointless because finding John when he doesn't /want/ to be found is much harder than when he's just passively nonexistent.

He has a safe house or two he can lay down in...and hopefully not bleed out while the tranquilizer wears off.
Remee Halcyon Remee doesn't go after him, either way.

She gets her phone out and take a couple photos of the area, and then goes to hop down and make her own way out of Lampport. Best not to be around when someone comes to see what wrecked most of a house and roof here.

... Besides, Petra's waiting on her.
